20 Best Robot Vacuum For Thick Carpet And Pet Hair (2023 Updated)

Bought this while it was on sale and honestly didn’t have the highest of expectations for it. Having never owned a robot vacuum before i didnt really have anything to compare it to. That being said, this little guy is amazing! I’ve had it for a few weeks now and find it does a really decent job of keeping the floors clean, and it handles a large amount of pet hair quite well.

Its obvious that this thing doesnt know where its going, it simply bounces off of walls and randomly moves around the house/room, however it does seem to eventually get everything, including corners and under most furniture.

I would definitely recommend this as an entry level robot vacuum, if you are considering it, just do it!.

This is the third, and most expensive of three robot vacuums I’ve tried, and it is the least successful at doing its job. 1. ) It blows dirt away as it approaches it, making a bigger mess than was already there.

This is true of spot cleaning and general cleaning. 2. ) There is no intelligence to its movement. It will zip by a pile of dirt and go in the opposite direction. It also bumped pretty violently into my baseboards, scuffing the paint.

3. ) It cannot climb on to, nor maneuver around upon my low/medium pile rug. The Shark and Cordey were both able to do so easily.

No tiene sensor que mapee la casa, por lo que es desordenada para limpiar y deja lugares sin limpiar. Para el precio me parece aceptable, además de que esta aspiradora tiene doble rodillo. Tuve una ecovacs que tenía el sensor y mapeaba, pero duró menos de un mes.

Muy contenta con esta compra. La recomiendo.

I love this little robot! I’ve got it programmed to run every day at nine and I can’t believe the amount of dust it picks up every day. It really helps to keep my house clean. I bought one of these about six years ago and have loved it but something went wrong with One of the brush motors and I couldn’t get a replacement part.

I had replacement Filters and had just replaced the battery so didn’t want to pitch it and was so happy that I found one on this site. I kept the old one for parts and this one runs great. Very Happy with my purchase!.

This product is a great buy for this price point. Not sure it performs as it should for options such as edge cleaning and it tends to navigate small parts but not all parts of every room. The battery lasts two hours on low and 1 hour on high.

I have so much dog hair that its definitely adjunctive to any real regular vacuuming. And you must change the brushes if they have gotten bent and tangled in wires or long carpet ( my learning curve) because otherwise they do not brush the floor correctly and leaves a lot of hair in its path.

So, used correctly with good brushes and daily cleaning its a good deal. It sure any other vacuum out there can really do much better. They all need cleaning. This motor works well!.

Love the relatively inexpensive Robot Vacuums. Made in China and all share similarity’s. We chose the GOOVI 1600PA for it’s features and low price. We needed one that could detect stairs and shared the same brushes as our other model.

The replacement side brushes and roller brush are readily viable at at knockdown prices. It does a great job on our thick Berber carpet and small area rugs as well as the wood grain vinyl floors. We also liked the 2 day Free Shipping from Walmart.

Love what it does for the price. Saw the list price to be over 200 bucks but got it for just a little over a $100. It does move around a bit randomly, but is highly effective in picking up 99% of debris from wood and carpet floors.

4 stars because the box said it is supposed to come with a set of 4 front rotating brushes but i found only 2 in the box and their customer care email address seems to be incorrect.

My main reason for return was with my phone which has given me problems, I was unable to get the app to work. Also, our house is all carpet and hard to find a suitable flat spot. So my dislikes aren’t legit.

I think I would have liked it if I could have programed it. It really cleaned well on my kitchen carpet and it does get the dust and dander as if claims. With programming, it is a neat device and goes over throw rugs easily.

If someone has hardwood floors, and some carpet and programs it, it’s going to make them a great cleaning tool. I also thought it would be great under beds but didn’t keep it to use it for anything except the kitchen as I really wanted to program it and it wasn’t the fault of the robot but my phone which is apparently a lemon.

Hated to return it but maybe at a later date?.

Rollers break down. Made of flimsy plastic. If any medium to long hair get into rollers it slices through them. Has random ineffective vacuum pattern and misses a lot of areas. Does not go row by row.

Vacuum starts at one corner of room goes to other then to third corner then straight. Just all over. Also picks up black carpet and areas on rugs as a “drop off” so won’t vacuum them.

iRobot offers very little support for its product. Customer service in Dominican Republic and because of iRobot policies can only offer limited support for customer satisfaction. I purchased 890 and because it was a supplemental cleaning tool, I used perhaps 6-8 weeks over course of 1 1/2 years.

The battery has lasted for only 54 cleanings and will now have to be replaced at a cost of 100$. Now considering spending over 500$ for a product to give me 38 hours of service time and now have to invest another 100$- hmmm not worth it.

I was offered 30% off a new $100 battery replacement which to me is an insult. I was told manual says when not in use for long time remove battery and store from charging. I want it charged and ready for monthly use so why would I remove battery and store? Sorry but in my opinion this product is expensive and basically a waste of money!.

The unit arrived well packaged and was easy to open. I downloaded the iRobot App for my iPhone, removed the stability tags from the vacuum, plugged in the base station and placed near the wall in my living room.

I connected the vacuum to my home WiFi and also enabled my Amazon Echo with the iRobot skill. I let Victoria (you can name your Roomba in the app) charge for a couple hours, then hit the clean button and watched my pet’s reactions to this new household resident.

Everybody got used to it. Overall, I’m quite impressed on how much dirt and pet hair this unit picks up. See the pictures of the overflowing dirt bins. I literally emptied 5-6 of these bins the first time it tried to clean the floor! What I’m not impressed with is just how random the unit cleans the room.

It literally bounces off objects and may make one or two “cleaning lines” in a room before proceeding to another room if you have a fairly open floor plan like me. Note that the 890 does not say supports multi-room cleaning – only room-by-room navigation, whereas the 960 and 980 do support entire floor cleaning.

The literature says the Roomba knows where it’s been and will eventually clean the whole room (and it did) – but that could take 60-minutes from my experience. If you have guests coming over or want to clean the floor quick – you’ll be reaching for your old vacuum.

I have setup the Roomba to vacuum the main floor of my house everyday starting at 4:00 am. It is supposed to drive around and clean up the floor and go back to its base station for recharging if needed.

I can attest that my floors are cleaner, but it has never finished the floor without some form of manual intervention. Either the dirt bin gets full, it gets stuck on something or under something, or can’t find the base station and runs out of battery charge.

Again – my floors are cleaner, it’s fun to watch, it works with Amazon Echo and I’m generally vacuuming less often than before!.

Enter a Irobot Roomba I3 into our lives. Here’s the good and the bad, short and sweet. The Roombas well-designed and well built. The I3 certainly has a more powerful suction than the Model 650 and it does well traversing between our area rugs, hardwood and tile.

Somehow, the I3 seems less attracted to charging cords and rug fringes than Ruby was. OCD types will be thrilled by the straight-line navigation of I3. However, the straightline navigation seems to insure that the I3 will get stuck under overstuffed chairs.

So far, it has avoided the low hanging (less than 3. 6″) S-shaped fronts on several pieces of furniture, but it especially lusts after a particular overstuffed chair. It’s not evident what I3 navigation achieves in terms of assuring more complete coverage, or the ability to clean more rapidly.

The more expensive models (I7 and I9) apparently do a more complete mapping and remember the mapping, and thus may be programmed to avoid certain areas. However, the aforementioned chair has lead me to order one of Roomba’s way overpriced markers to keep I3 from running under the chair.

The WiFi is not really relevant for our situation, as we are retired and count pushing the “Clean” button as exercise. Perhaps WiFi has some utility in setting up a cleaning schedule, but that’s not important to us either.

Bottom line: The simpler your floor plan, the happier you’ll be. If you have more than one goldendoodle, you will probably want the selfcleaning base. If your internet connection involves a hotspot, be prepared to scratch your head and experiment a bit.

I think one of the videos addresses this situation, but I still put several hours into the setup, only to discover it wasn’t going to do much for us. The Roomba I3 will give you a cleaner house.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe promise of this device is that you buy it and it sweeps the floor for you. Unfortunately, the device is not “smart” and has so many issues that the work you have to do to manage it takes more time than sweeping once a week.

Here’s what’s bad: – Cleaning the drawer. It gets filled up after one or two cleanings so you’re regularly getting your hands dirty to keep the thing running – It’s not smart. It has a map feature but even after you invest the time to set that up, it doesn’t follow it exactly.

There’s a part of my apartment that’s not level – even after setting that up as a separate room, it still sometimes falls in and gets stuck. I have chairs that it gets stuck on as well. So before every “automatic cleaning” I have to lift the chairs on my counter, erect a barrier infant of the dip and scan the room for anything on the floor that it might have trouble with – Sometimes it doesn’t perfectly line up when it goes back to the station so it doesn’t charge.

Then you have to line it up manually and wait for it to charge before you start cleaning – It can’t handle long hair. If there’s a woman in your household – forget about this thing. Long hairs get tangled in the circular thing at the front so you have to chop at it with scissors to get it untangled – and this happens about once a month with one long haired person in the house.

– They recommend you clean the chargers once a month. In addition to everything else, you have to make sure the charger contacts aren’t getting obstructed by dirt. – Sometimes it just fully won’t work.

In my last instance, the power went out in the apartment and the iRobot didn’t like that. Now it won’t charge or start. Save yourself the experience of being a slave to this cleaning tool – DO NOT BUY.

IšverstiShow in original languageI didn’t have high expectations for the i3 EVO. I have a higher end iRobot vacuum and purchased this one for my upstairs. I wish it were a bit smarter with mapping things out while vacuuming.

I had to send it out a couple of times to map the area, then I was able to tell it to avoid certain areas. The i3 EVO was smart enough to not fall down stairs, though it looked like it was going to hurl itself off the top stairs.

It was about 1/3rd of the way off before reversing itself the first couple of times. Now it stays on the edge of the top stairs and is smart enough to not get too close. The vacuum takes about 45 minutes to clean four rooms and a small hallway.

It isn’t as fast as my other one, but it is good enough for my needs. I went with the i3 EVO because it tries to vacuum in straight lines instead of just meandering. The carpet looks better with the straight lines and the i3 EVO also included better rotational brushes that clean pet hair.

The bin is easy to empty, it does fill up faster than I expected. Either it’s doing a good job cleaning and/or my upstairs is dirtier than I previously thought. I’m able to control the i3 EVO with both Alexa and Google Home, I don’t have issues commanding either assistant to send the vacuum out to individual rooms or the whole upstairs.

People wanting a good, first robotic vacuum or a secondary one would be fine with this. It isn’t as fancy as iRobot’s more expensive models, and I do think it is worth upgrading to get the charging dock/bin combo, but this does the trick and works great with pet hair.

I use it on my floors. It gets under my bed! I cannot complain about it.

Radzi sobie z niskimi (1,3 cm) szerszymi progami. Na wąskim progu niestety zawisa i nie umie zejść. Wszelkie dywaniki typu shaggy trzeba usunąć bo ciężko się po nich porusza, natomiast dywany a niskim runem pokonuje i odkurza bez problemu.

Jest niski i wpełza pod sofę (7,5 cm przestrzeni od podłogi). Nie ma problemu z wydostaniem się spod stołu czy z innych zakamarków. zmienny cykl sprzątania (po prostych, po łukach i po skosach) pozwala na dokładne posprzątanie całej podłogi.

Jeszcze nie instalowałam aplikacji, więc nie mam doświadczenia w tej kwestii, wystarcza mi pilot. Żeby szybko trafił do bazy, najlepiej wyłączyć go w jej okolicach. Za tą cenę w zupełności spełnia moje oczekiwania, mam świetnego pomocnika w codziennym odkurzaniu po moich zwierzakach, podłoga jest czyściutka a ja mam czas poczytać książkę :).

It seems like these little robot vacuums are all over the place. Kudos to QVC for offering a price that clinched the deal. Purchased Emma as a second unit in a different part of the house. Awesome I did not have to think of a cute name to be able to yell at Alexa to start cleaning.

The app makes it simple to use as well, from starting to stopping to scheduling and see where she has been. Kinda confused with a previous poor review cause my experience has been nothing but exceeding my expectations.

Finally, a robot that recognizes stairs and actually stops (unlike a well known brand that left nice little nicks in my hardwood stairs). Emma has made several trips around the bedrooms and picked up stuff that has been hidden for quite a bit of time.

She has been efficiently picking up the dog hair from a recent guest without fail. No more carrying a vacuum up the stairs, Emma is welcome addition to the family.

Not being able to tell her to avoid regions is crippling. We basically have to put up barriers to prevent her from going to carpets (1/4″ high) or small platforms (1/2″ for base of cat trees) or even some walls; she’s particularly bad with corners (cat litter box near a wall).

And despite these barriers she’ll still get stuck and either remain in one spot or tell us to “put me on the ground”. She also cleans the same areas over and over while others are untouched. At which point she’ll proudly claim that she’s “done with my chores”.

Once she only cleaned 1 room and part of a second room before being done. It feels like we’re asking a teenager to clean rather than an adult. On the plus side she does avoid going down the stairs. But she gets stuck way too often and requests our help far too often.

It is starting to feel that it would be fewer efforts to use our real vacuum and we’d do a better job at it.

I’m aware that there are more expensive brands, but because I have a variety of vacuums, I did my research and bought this one as I needed a Robotic vacuum for all the Pet hair. Wow!! Great job! I used it immediately, and this Trifo Robotic Vacuum is fantastic.

It cleans nicely and transitions well on my tile floors, carpets, and wood floors. It works with Alexa as well as the phone app. Does not slide off the stairwell’s edge and is quite persistent on the edges.

I was overwhelmed by the reviews which helped my decision. Perfect for my purposes, it removes crumbs, allows me to sweep less, and keeps my living room rugs looking fluffed. It is best practice to dump the dirt cup each time in order to keep it in good working condition.

Great device and does exactly what it should. Easy to use and great to be able to set it off, shut the doors and come back to a clean room. It does get a little lost trying to find the dock if it is in a different room, but not a big deal.

Efficiency is great given cat hair and human hair is all through the house. Is amazing on carpet also.

When it actually works, it vacuums really well. Forget trying to program auto times, that process is laborious & in the end doesn’t work. Don’t buy this for the mopping feature, that is useless too. I find it works really well 50% of the time.

Would spend more & get a model with an app if I had my time again.

Purchased this as an update to my 8 year old robot and find it is indeed a great update. I can recommed this item as value for money and also recommend MYER as a company that is good to do business with.

I have been looking to get a robovac that works with Google home for a while now and the Kalorik Home HUVI Robot Vacuum R1 definitely fits the bill. First off let me say this unit looks nice and feels very well built and setup was super simple, so lets get deeper into the HUVI! Packaging/in the box The unit was well packaged and everything was easy to find and layout for first time use.

There was the standard scratch protection wrap to remove as well as two white pads that protect the bump plate from moving during shipping, MAKE SURE TO REMOVE these. In the box you have the vacuum, two sets of brushes (these are dependent on whether you have non-attached carpeting) the cord and charging station, a bottle of aroma, and 8 felt pads that I have yet to determine their use as they do not have sticky pads and are not called out in the manual.

Setup and use Setup was super easy, after removing the protective wrap and shipping pads start by attaching the appropriate brushes and placing the charging station. Then turn the unit on by holding the power button for 3 seconds.

Use the QR code on the unit to download the app and place the unit in pairing mode by holding the home button until it dings then flashes white fast. Open the app and hit add device, make sure your phone is on a 2.

4ghz WiFi connection and enter the password. Once the password is entered the unit will pair and connect to the WiFi. It can then be added to google home (in our case) or Alexa via the native apps. After that using the HUVI is easy by setting your preferred cleaning and options in the app.

Final thoughts on the Kalorik Home HUVI Robot Vacuum R1 after several cleaning sessions are as follows, the HUVI handles dog hair and dirt very well on our tile floors, I cannot say how it would work for carpeting or area rugs but I would bet that it works just as well.

The HUVI had no issues navigating or getting stuck with our layout and furniture but as always is the case with autonomous vacuums there could be scenarios where this can occur. All in all I am extremely happy with the HUVI as it is feature packed with the UV light and ION/HEPA air cleaning features and again it vacuums the floor VERY well! Oh and did I mention you can get a mopping add on as well?.

Amazing mapping abilities. Anywhere on the floor it fits, it’ll pretty much find a way to clean it. It gets between chair legs, table legs, and reasonable room obstacles without any trouble. It also saves and supports multi floor mapping so you can easily load up a specific floor for the robot to clean.

Rooming capabilities, zone areas, and no-go zones. You can easily create rooms and specific areas using the app and tell the robot to clean them. You can also create borders and no go zones so that the robot avoids them.

Siri support. Once you set up rooms using the app, you can create ANY Siri sentence and attach it to a robot cleaning command. You can now program it to schedule cleaning for specific rooms when you’re out of the house at work! The auto-empty feature is nice.

Did a lot researches online and finally I chose the Roborock Q5+ because I want self-emptying function. And I don’t need mopping feature. So this model exactly fits my needs. Now I have had it for over two weeks and I am quite impressed with it so far.

My previous vacuum requires babysitting. This one gets over rooms and obstacles smoothly. I got it connected to wifi easily. The map was created very fast. It always moves with a logical path and returns to its base to empty the bin automatically when power is low.

Also, it is quiet while running. I would love to have it clean rooms by sequence but fail to figure it out. After reaching out to the customer service, they told me to create tasks in routine which is very helpful.

This vacuum really saves a lot hassle for me. I cannot live without it now.
