1)When installing the way I needed it to fit in my van the 3000 Watts lettering is upside down. No biggie as it is in the garage, but would have been nice to be able to flip it over, or just provide a decal to put on after installation.

2) The terminals on the AC output are way to small. You should be attaching #10 stranded wires to each terminal fir 25 amps and surges to 50 amps (6,000W). The terminals are too small to accept a #10 ring or fork connectors.

Trying to get all the wires under the screw without a ring on the end means strands of wires sticking out all over as the terminal is too small. 3) The other issue is that the wire input on the terminal is facing whatever you are attaching the inverter to.

This gives you 1″ to get #10 wires to turn 90 degrees. A much better solution would be to have the connector turned 90 degrees so that the wires will attach in the same plane as the inverter, screws facing away from the backplate.

Also a larger size that would accommodate #10 easily.

I haven’t had the time to fully test this yet– I literally finished the installation five minutes ago and can only say that it basically works. But, the positive terminal DC connection is about a half a millimeter too short to allow clearance for a 1/0 cable to connect straight-on.

It’s not the cable– I swapped several around, and the connector is just too short, Besides, the cables all work perfectly when tested on the negative connector. It’s a small, annoying manufacturing defect that’s not worth returning the unit over.

I have sufficient clearances to safely mount the cable crosswise on the connector, so I did so. Also, the little plastic safety connectors can’t be made to fit either, on the positive because the cable is crossways and on the negative because.

There’s just not quite enough clearance. Otherwise, this physically looks like a quality unit, and I’ve had good luck with Renogy inverters in the past.

I bought this as advised by Renogy to replace the identical model that had been installed in my camper van 2 years ago when I bought it. I only ever used it only to heat water in a small electric kettle for morning time and it worked fine for 2 years.

Then it had started smelling “hot” and the fan came on so when I contacted Renogy they advised me to replace it with a new one which I did. I have only used the new one twice so far. It has a bit of burnt plastic smell which may just be “burn in.

” The 2nd time I used it, it blew the fuse which had never happened in the 2 years I used to old one. We replaced the fuse and it seems to work now but I am going to try it on a 2 week trip leaving tomorrow before I conclude if I threw away my money buying a new inverter or not.

I am taking a little camp stove and kettle in case the new inverter fails on the trip.

I installed this inverter/charger in a system to act as a solar generator for my Airstream trailer. Since the tow vehicle is my is the support vehicle for my trailer, I built a 1000w solar array on a rack over the long bed and cab, used this inverter and a charge controller (for 8 lithium batteries kept in a box in the truck bed) and pipe 110 vac directly to my trailer.

When I have shore power I simply plug in and the automatic transfer makes the whole operation smooth. This means I use shore power when available, run it through the truck system and then into the trailer.

All 8 of the lithium batteries stayed topped off and when we boon dock we simply run off the truck system. What a great piece of equipment, smooth transfers and a lot less heat than I imagined. Picture shows the truck and contractor shell prior to the installation of the solar generator system.

Panels are mounted on a 14 foot plywood shelf bolted to the aluminum lumber rack.

This unit has been generating virtually all of my residential AC electrical needs for over 2 years with virtually no issues. I have a 2500W solar array in the back yard and 3/4 ton of AGM lead acid batteries (10 each Apex APX12-250, for 2500 amp-hours total).

I had an electrician set up a second power box to segregate some heavy hitters to remain on-grid, such as range, A/C, dryer, and hot-water heater. But everything else is powered with the AIMS PICO 6000W Inverter charger, including all power outlets, ceiling fans, a couple window A/C units, fridge, microwave, computers, well pump, etc.

Most of the time when the grid power goes off I don’t even know it. Some months of the year, when I don’t run A/C my power bill is $40. Can’t beat that. I had to leave this review because the one other review said something about causing interference and that it was not reliable.

I strongly disagree. The unit is rock solid, and the tech support is top notch.

Replaced my 14-year-old prosine 2. 0 with this. Pretty comparable but the remote functions arent nearly as good as the prosine 2. 0. My biggest gripe is the remote times out after 30 seconds, the display turns off and you have to press one of the buttons to get it to wake up and then its back at the home screen not the last thing you were looking at.

Its one of those lovely things were they have 100 functions controlled by only four buttons, so unless you have the instruction manual youre screwed. The power and the battery charger seem to be right on their specifications.

The transfer switch seems even quicker than the prosine. Theres two 150 amp fuses internally in parallel (300 amps) so you dont need a big giant fuse block like I had to have for the Prosine. Installing 10 gauge wire into the AC quick connects is a nightmare unless you solder (tin) tightly twisted wire ends or have crimped on ferrule ends.

All in all when you consider the price the all metal construction a remote that cost less than $100, included DC fuses its about the best value out there for a pure sine wave inverter with a 80 amp battery charger.

Hopefully since its such a new model some of the remote gripes I had will be updated with newer firmware versions.

I had the Prowatt SW 2000 from Xantrex and it worked great, but found out that my 15 amp charger took forever to charge up the bank 4- 6volt batteries. Found that I have to spend $250-300 to get a charger that will do 35amps! So, I moved the Prowatt inverter to my enclosed trailer and replaced it with the Freedom XC 2000 in the coach.

With the included switching it takes up less room and charges my battery bank at a max of 80amps!! Cutting my charge time by a ton!!!.

Awesome, rugged, and reliable when you need it the most!! Works great and does as it is designed for. We use it for emergency backup power for lighting and computer in our home when we have power outages.

It also runs the refrigerator and furnace for very short intervals to keep our smal home warm and food fresh. Buy this product!!.

600 watt version Noise: No noise at all. I have yet to hear the fan come on. Idle Power Drain: At 13 volt input, About 6 watts. 120 Volt Washing machine Test: I have a 120 volt washing machine, when using a kilowatt meter it shown the machine just below 600 watts usage.

I did what any man would, try to run the washing machine off the inverter. The machine was already the in wash cycle, so when I plugged the machine into the inverter the machine started washing just as if it were plugged into the wall.

I tried this again later and the machine was not able to start, it kept trying and clicking but you could tell it was just zapping the juice out of the inverter to get started. Wide screen TV Test: TV pulls about 150 watts, TV ran perfect.

Full size Refrigerator Test: Nope. It died when the compressor turned on. Sine wave test using Fluke meter: Yes, was a sine wave. I bought this because of my life long hobby of playing with electronics and I wanted a good inverter instead of a cheap one.

I am replacing an older Xantrex unit that cost $1200 about 8yrs ago with this unit. I called Xantrex and asked them why the units are so different and they told me this new type of unit has different technology.

So this is not my first rodeo when it comes to solar inverters. Having said that there were some things I wish the seller had done better. 1) you need to also buy an inline ANL-250amp fuse. The seller does not indicate that.

You basically find that out after you buy the product and then read the instructions. You can get them on Home Essentials Direct for $13 for the fuse and the holder. But better also get a couple extra fuses.

2) the instructions say you need #0 (pronounced Aut) gauge wire, but the box the inverter comes in says #4 gauge. It is very difficult to find #0 gauge wire and when you do its $5/foot unless you want to buy 25 feet of it.

My original solar power setup had double #2 gauge wire so I figured the #4 wire recommended on the box the inverter came in was going to be too small. The lower the number, the thicker the wire. This system needs thick wire if you read the other reviews, so dont try to go cheap.

Get the thickest wire possible – #0 gauge. But here the box and the instructions dont match when it comes to the recommended wiring required. And you will have to hunt around to marine and RV dealers to find #0 gauge wire – and the big copper end plugs.

3) you also need to find #6 gauge wire to use for the grounding connection. If you connect the ground wire to the chassis of the RV or a grounding point in your boat you will need wire and end connectors for that.

This does have GFCI outlets, which most of the cheap Chinese models do not. GFCI plugs are like the ones you have in the bathroom wall for plugging in your hair dryer so you dont electrocute yourself by accident.

If the outlet senses a short caused by water the outlet fuse will trip and you wont get killed. This is a must have if you plan to use an inverter in a boat or RV where condtions could be damp. Alternatively you could buy a GFCI extension plug I suppose.

The unit has been in place and running for 24 hours now and so far no issues. I am running with Four 6-Volt deep cycle batteries configured to produce 12-volts. Each battery has 225 amps. That is enough power to run a small A/C unit, TV, computers, fans, etc.

and not get a power shutdown because the batteries are drained. But it does put a real strain on the system if you try to run a coffee maker, microwave, or 800 Watt A/C unit. This is better for running small electronics, like TVs, computers and such and occassionally running a coffee maker or microwave.

if you need to run heavy electronics like a fridge, washing machine, etc then this unit would be too small.

I have TWO! One Ive been using since 2019, and a brand new in box back-up. Been in Gods god grace that this machine is like normal house energy and have worked EVERYTHING in the house (except water heater that we dont use) but the coffeemaker, microwave if needed, air fryer if needed, fridge all day long.

Fans, PCs, TV, etc! Dont know if its just hate from other reviewers, but compared to Aims inverters (which to me are PURE garbage! ) these Xantrex 2000s are the best in its class! Ask my whole family!.

I bought this to replace a 1,100 Watt Modified Sine Wave Inverter I installed in our travel trailer a couple of years ago because a pure sine wave inverter is better for the electronics in the trailer, etc.

This was an easy swap out of the previous unit installed in the basement of our trailer, since I had previously installed all necessary cables for the old MSW unit. I also bought the remote switch and it was virtually identical to the remote switch I had for the old inverter.

I do not try to power the entire trailer–instead I had previously installed one standard house-type outlet as a dedicated inverter outlet. So, if I need to run something on the inverter I just run an extension cord from the device to this dedicated inverter outlet.

After install the unit powered up as it should and works great so far, although I have not had any really heavy loads on it. It is a solid unit. I no longer have access to an oscilloscope, so I have no way of verifying how pure the sine wave is, but other reviewers have posted such pictures.

At this point I am very happy with it and if anything happens to change my feelings about it I will update this review.

Just happened to see all of the negative reviews and I’m puzzled. I’ve been using this inverter for a decade with NO issues at all. It makes me wonder if the installations were incorrect or substandard.

I would not and have not hesitated to recommend this unit.

This was the exact product that I needed. I had blown out my other inverter by accidentally hooking up my battery backwards, reverse polarization, which blew 4 fuses on my converter, and destroyed my Xantrec XM1000.

This was the exact replacement, came w good clear instructions.

Upgraded my 2000W Xantrex Pure-sine inverter/charger with the 3000W version, 15 years newer. Older one still worked but power creep on my houseboat forced a bigger inverter and more battery capacity.

It’s big, but installation was straight forward. The package included the remove control panel, but it doesn’t include an on/off function, so ordered the separate switch too. That allows me so disconnect power to the outlets without having to change the inverter settings.

A key feature is while running my 3000W Honda pure-sine generator, if a surge happens (ie: hair dryer or microwave) it will add power from the battery bank to handle the surge. 150 Amp battery charger is 50% more than the 2000W version.

The setup can be complex and take your time reading through the included manuals (real manuals). Very happy with the setup and would recommend it.

My first Xantrex inverter/charger lasted 15 years! 2017 I purchased a second and still running! Being able to equalize the battery bank is one the key elements of this unit.

Our motorhome came from the factory with this model inverter and when it went out, which it was 13 years old, I bought a used one off Ebay. I got the used one for less than half of what a new one costs.

Its been performing perfectly. No issues at all with it and very happy with the purchase.

You need to talk to Magnum or West Marine and make sure the model you are ordering comes with a terminal strip to connect the AC shore power to the unit. This part number has no terminal strip and is supplies with wire nuts to make the AC power connections.

This is against ABYC rules for wiring a boat and all common sense. I’m sure there is another part number for the same unit but with the terminal strip. The unit works excellent for it’s intended purposes of charging large battery banks and inverting DC to AC.

Great unit and great price. Replaced factory Converter in my 5th wheel with this to be able to charge batteries safely and run some 110v appliances. Should have gotten a 2000w to be able to run multiple devices at once but this one will work for now.

Easy to set up. I used 3/0 cable to power the inverter and the cable fits well into the covers provided on the back of the unit. Still need to get an electrician friend to stop by and assist in hooking up the ac lines so I can use it to charge my batteries off of the grid.

This is the exact same inverter as the AIMS branded model that you’ll find on other sites. Had a problem with my first unit, renogy replaced at no charge and have been up and running since for over a year with no issue.

Running a 24v 1200 watt array into a 12v battery bank with this inverter to power my house off grid. Idle power consumption runs around 20 watts and the charger feature that you can hard wire into a generator is a great backup for long periods of clouds.

All in all it’s a great unit for the price.

This little inverter is a beast. I’ve run everything I own at it in full use. Mind you not at the same time but since I installed it at our off grid home it works great. The list of stuff I have run.

The only problem is it draws 18 watts unless in standby then it uses 8 watts. If your battery bank can handle that then great but in the winter mine cannot.

As I have about 2kWh of storage, this isn’t too significant. While inverting, the no load power consumption is more like 25 watts. Power save mode pulses the output to about 50Vrms every half second, looking to see if a load is present.

This could be problematic if electronic equipment is attached, but perfect to detect a sump pump. See attached The output stays solid at 120V with a 1500W space heater and fairly sinusoidal driving a 100W light bulb.

So far, my only other negative comment is that the fans are a bit noisy, while not seeming to provide a lot of airflow.

This IS NOT a Pure Sine Wave Inverter which costs 4 times as much for 1000 Watts. This will power lights. a small coffee pot, smaller power tools, etc. The device should always be 80% or less with any inverter.

Do not try to run clocks or any transformerless switching power supply items such as a phone, drill or razor charger. (Hiss, humm, bang, etc. ) I do have a samlex PST150 Pure that works super on my camper TV, Chargers, etc.

I like the lay out of the outlets. Timers will fit better than most models. Great value. Also great with turbines and solar combo. The remote is very useful. You will have an accurate read out of how much power you do or dont have.

Complete waste of money. The USB DC to DC pass through will make the Inverter get so hot you can definitely cook on it. Very dangerous.

Needed to get good AC power for my wife’s Oxygen Concentrator (one of the largest available) while we were traveling in truck. Unit worked awesome providing the clean power needed to run medical equipment.

We’ve installed 6 of these in small RVs; with two more on the way. The RV1250 is very compact; has DC cable connections in a very convenient location and a proper AC panel for in/out connections. It is slightly heavier than other inverters and a bit more expensive.

The RV1250 provides flawless transfer to make it very simple for the users – simply leave the unit running. Plug in and unplug shore power at will. Apparently, the unit will limit the DC input current to 95 amps at 12VDC (in specs and shows in testing) so there is a plus and a minus.

AC powered devices will not draw enough current to overload the output circuit. Items like hair dryers need to be kept within 1200 watts to work effectively. The LED legend is difficult to read, so we add a sticker.

There is only two switch settings so it is not a huge deal. Testing: this unit is mod sine wave and does not work with the tested CPAP. The RV1250 does work with many other sensitive electronics using the manufacturers AC charger – Samsung phone; iphone, Dell computer.

Unfortunately, testing is the only way to find out if the AC powered device will work. If it is a critical device, like a CPAP, a sine wave inverter should be used. Phones and computers should be fine.

Of course, DC charging is no problem.

Fits in the same space as the older, lower wattage unit in our RV. Fairly easy to replace: only issue was the weight of the units (not anything can be done there). I didn’t realize how poorly my old unit was working (then it failed) until I had the new unit installed.

Charges the batter a lot faster and more reliably while on shore power or generator power.

EXACT replacement for a RV750ULHW in a 6 year old motorhome made removing and replacing the defective one an easy operation. Just be sure to take pictures before you start of ALL hookups and label the Inverter In and Inverter Out wires and the corresponding connections on the old inverter/charger so you can be sure to get the connections right on the new inverter/charger.

The positive and negative cables (red and black) speak for themselves. Mine was mounted sideways on a vertical wall. There were two screws holding it in place with two larger screws that it slid into on the back to hold it up.

Once I figured that out it was a smooth remove and replace operation.

I can’t run anything from this inverter. The microwave just makes a loud, scary buzzing sound, and it barely warms up the food. My computers’ UPS won’t even consider it a valid source of AC power, so it just keeps running from battery.

My computer monitor would just buzz like crazy. The only thing I can run from it is the fridge, but seeing what it’s doing to my other appliances, I’m worried about damaging the fridge. This inverter is pretty much unusable.

It does a great job with my solar system. My system is small and I don’t want the inverter on at all times. It has a. 8 amp idle current. A 100 watt solar panel is 1 amp. Fortunately it comes with a wired remote switch for turning off the inverter to allow the panel to keep the charge on the battery until the inverter is needed again.

Would work even better with multiple panels but for now I am happy.

Great addition to RV. Easy to use remote switch allows installation close to battery and out of sight. Operates all appliances except for refrigerator and AC. Be sure to switch refrigerator to propane mode prior to turning on inverter.
