20 Best Protein Powder For Women Over 50 (2023 Updated)

I had to order 4 of the old because I absolutely do NOT like the new formula. So different, tastes artificial and also now with CANE sugar?! I actually didn’t realize you changed the formula and I made my typical blueberry post workout smoothie.

I thought I somehow mixed it up with pineapple because the taste was so off. Then I looked closer and saw your change on the container ! I found your protein because it was the best tasting plant based protein with the most whole food and nutritious ingredients (and the fewest ingredients) of any protein powder I have ever seen! And because of this, it’s one of the only ones I have found that doesn’t upset my stomach! I loved the taste and have used it religiously for years.

I’ve recommended it to friends and even my boyfriend has converted to TIU! I am also fitness coach for orange theory and have recommended this product to so many athletes. This powder has transformed people into believers that protein powder can be good and that it is an important supplement to their HIIt workout! I was so so so so disappointed to see the product change and I wish I could say it was for the better.

I already looked into the shelf life of the powder because I will do whatever I can to use all you have left of the old version!!! Appreciate the attempt to make improvements, but I wish I could rave like I did about your original! I would love to continue to give this product all my rave reviews, and I would continue to feel good fueling my body with this powder.

I have been using Orgain Protein for about a year now and Target was out the last time I went shopping. I decided to try Tone It Up and I am not a fan. It’s not awful but it has the super strong protein taste.

I primarily use protein powder for protein batter I make for dessert (protein powder, PB2 powder, and almond milk). When I use Orgain it tastes so yummy and I can’t get enough. This was hard to finish because I was well aware that I was eating protein batter & not brownie batter lol Might be better in smoothies?? Hoping so!.

Didn’t like it at all! Don’t Buy. I do take protein from this company and I thought I give this bottle a try. normally I buy the black bottle with red or orange label mark either at gnc or bodybuilding website.

But I thought I give this a try since it’s sold at walmart and from a company I trust. Wrong!!! I will return this product for refund or exchange for the black bottle with orange or red label same company.

This product I tried and the taste tasted awful, like I would say banana that’s been in the trash mixed with water It didn’t dissolve too in the water. I tried the vanilla flavor. BUT AGAIN DO NOT BUY!! BUY THE BLACK LABEL/Bottle with red or orange label one instead that tastes a whole lot better.

I really like how this is low calorie and no fat but high protein. It does have a very weird after taste though. I can’t put my finger on what exactly but it’s not pleasant. I’ve tried many protein powders and this taste is by far the worst one.

It is smooth though and blends well in the blender bottle. Not chalky.

Yummy, creamy, dreamy, UNSWEETENED vanilla protein deliciousness! Thank you, Tone It Up, for creating a version of protein powder without added sweeteners for girls like me who prefer it that way. I add protein powder to my morning smoothie every single day and like to use fruit, honey, and/or molasses to provide just the right amount of sweetness.

TIU’s unsweetened vanilla protein is the perfect canvas for creating any sort of flavor profile my heart desires, from dirty chai to blueberry cacao to key lime to chocolate amaretto. I love the delicious vanilla taste and the silky smooth consistency.

It is a definite five stars in my book–but make it organic and it will be off the charts! That is the only change I would make. Otherwise it is perfection and I hope it is here to stay!.

I’m not gonna lie, I add more pea protein isolate when I use this protein powder to get more out of the product. But so far it’s my favorite tasting vegan protein powder. I’m not vegan I just don’t like whey.

I’ve tried other vegan protein powders and I keep coming back to this one. Adding more pea protein isolate helps me justify the cost of this protein because it makes it more protein dense and it lasts longer without sacrificing the taste too much.

This is the only protein powder I can drink by mixing it straight into milk and not making it into a complicated smoothie that covers the taste. It’s so good in oatmeal too. It’s worth it to buy a protein powder you actually enjoy drinking.

First thing I noticed after barely unscrewing the lid was the overwhelming smell of fake sugar. Made a shake with banana, almond milk, and ice with a scoop of this powder. The taste was okay, you get a little more used to it after a few sips.

But it definitely has that fake sugar aftertaste that reminds me of most diet sodas (barf). Maybe it’s the coconut creamer? Otherwise the ingredients list organic cane sugar and monk fruit extract, so I’m not sure why it tastes somewhat like aspartame or something similar.

If you don’t mind that fake sugar aftertaste, you’ll probably like this. I’ll likely finish it, but I personally won’t buy it again.

Love this product. Not heavy at all and doesn’t give you that bloated feeling a lot of protein powders give. I’ve been having it in my daily smoothies and ive lost 9KGs, its the only part of my diet and exercise routine that ive changed so its definitely works well as a part of a balanced diet.

Very smooth, dissolves easily and doesn’t leave a milky taste. Vanilla is definitely my favorite and goes with everything – unfortunately it was out of stock so had to try the chocolate, took a while to get used to the taste but otherwise great as well.

Definitely recommend.

Great way to use a supplement to help meet your daily protein macro needs. As a person that requires more protein than most in my day this shake helps me meet my requirements so I can maintain and build lean strong muscle.

It’s tastes great and you can mix it with water or milk. It’s not chalky which is a huge bonus! Goes down smoother than others I’ve tried and the taste is awesome ! Highly recommend ! Have used on and off for a couple of years and believe me I know the difference in my energy level and my body’s appearance when I follow the use of a supplement to meet my macro needs.

IšverstiShow in original languageOf the plant-based protein powders out there, Owyn’s Chocolate is one of the better ones I’ve tasted. It’s definitely not as chalky and vegetal tasting as Vega. I wouldn’t say I love it, but it’s not egregious and it gets the job done.

I discovered Owyn about a year ago after randomly purchasing their Cold Brew Coffee flavored pre-made protein shake from Target. I was blown away by the flavor, and I immediately went to Owyn’s website to purchase the corresponding powder.

I was disappointed to learn that there are only three flavors of powder offered — Chocolate, Cookies and Creamless, and Vanilla. So I purchased Chocolate. Since then, I have been coming back to Owyn for protein powder, and I’ve tried all three flavors, but Chocolate — while not amazing — is by far the better of the three powder offerings.

I expected Cookies and Creamless to be much better than it was, and Vanilla smells much better than it tastes. It’s not terrible, but it’s just very bland. So I keep coming back to their Chocolate flavor, not because I love it, but because it’s better than the other brands of plant-based protein I’ve tried, and I’m really not interested in wasting upwards of $35 per tub on potentially awful tasting alternatives.

I just don’t understand why they can’t or don’t offer their other shake flavors as powders, because the Cold Brew Coffee flavor is really *very* good. I don’t use whey protein anymore because it wrecks my stomach, but the Cold Brew Coffee flavor is on par with some of the best tasting whey proteins out there — like Optimum Nutrition (ON).

So their powders are a total letdown in comparison. In summary, it’s fine, it delivers the protein supplementation I’m looking for, and it tastes better than some others like Vega. But please, Owyn, work on your powders to try to capture what’s so great about your pre-made shakes.

IšverstiShow in original languageI use this as a 1/2 meal replacement at lunch. I mix it with I cup of whole milk, 2/3 cups of frozen blueberries, the protein powder, and when I remember, I add a teaspoon or two of Green Vibrance powder.

I blend this combination together in a blender and so have an ersatz shake to drink with a salad or a small sandwich. Three stars because of this worry: The only thing that bothers me is seeing little clear pieces of.

something. littering the protein powder. I can’t figure out what it is and I’m worried it’s plastic. If it IS plastic, then OWYN Must halt their mixing space and find out HOW that plastic has made it into the protein powder.

I want to bring this up with customer service, but can find absolutely NO phone number or email address.

IšverstiShow in original languageI love what is inside this protein powder, and I especially love that it is dairy-free and plant-based. It is my daily breakfast and I feel great. I am putting on muscle in my workouts, and I feel more alert than ever during long work days.

My digestive system is much happier too. I don’t think I’ve ever had enough protein in my diet, and I feel amazing now that I do. I also love that it has amino acids and some carbs. All that nutrition instantly wakes me up in the morning.

But I do not like the flavor ( I ordered vanilla), and the powder tends not to dissolve. I want to give this product 5 stars, but I can’t. It loses a star because the flavor is much too sweet, and the powder clumps and/or doesn’t combine.

No matter how much liquid I add, hot or cold; or how much I shake my blender bottle. there’s always a big chunk of balled up protein powder at the bottom of my drink. But I’ll put up with these negatives, because this product is dairy-free and vegan, most cost effective and highest quality that I’ve found.

Will continue to purchase. This time I think I’ll try the chocolate to see if I like the flavor more.

The product is great, but if I knew this hat 17 grams of carbohydrates, I would not have purchased it. The label says “3 grams is sugar per serving”. No one counts sugar. They count carbs! The only reason I can think a marketing company would put this on the label, is to trick the customer into thinking it had 3 grams of carbs.

It worked; but it will only work once. Other than that, it is a great product. Although I would recommend this to others, I will not be buying it again.

Using this product be for years. Wanted to coment on flavors. Over all we like this brand the most. As some generic products we have attempted to try. Could be best described as, “every bit as taisty as putrified pancake batter!” We like vanilla the most followed by cookies and cream.

Unless your a real choclate fiend I’d avoid it it has a huge thick sediment to it that causes a bit of an upset stomach while lifting.
