20 Best Protein Powder For Lean Muscle Gain (2023 Updated)

I have used SFH since 2012 for my post workout protein needs. It is the real deal. I love the coconut flavor, it tastes awesome. It disolves easily with water, with no chunks so that tells me it’s real.

I like that it also has added necessary healthy fats and electrolytes. I will never go back to cheap processed whey proteins again. It is so worth it’s cost and cheap never wins when I tell my friends.

I currently have vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry in my pantry. I love SFH protein. The vanilla mixes so well with everything, so its my favorite. I have mixed the vanilla with just water so many times and it tastes so good.

The chocolate is good as well. I LOVE the strawberry mixed into smoothies. The strawberry doesnt mix very well with water in a mixer bottle, but wow it tastes delicious any other way.

I got the milk chocolate flavor and personally love it. The powder dissolves easily and tastes amazing with either water or milk. I sometimes do 50% water and 50% milk and it tastes so good that way.

I’ve noticed that my muscles are getting stiffer as well since I started taking this protein, when I flex and feel my muscles they are wayyy more solid than what they were feeling like before. While writing this review I just now realized I haven’t had any stomach issues with the protein as well.

So far my experience with this protein powder is definitely up there with some of the best all around for me. Also, I’m not sure if this matters to anyone but the container is extremely high quality.

The lid screws on smoothly and I love that the tub is clear so that I can see exactly how much I have left.

The way supplement that I am currently taking it was recommended to me by my trainer and since taking it and it’s been about almost a month now I have started to see significant gains in my forearms pectorals overall my performance in the gym and out of it.

I am seriously impressed for the longest time I believed that you only needed to take supplements if you were not eating properly to gain the natural protein from the intake of your diet. However it is clear that still supplements are definitely return from the current mindset that I had previously.

Lastly I say the texture blends perfectly together regardless of what I use as a bond whether that’s almond milk or water. This is definitely a game changer for my workouts.

It was a little too sweet tasting for me, which is why I took off a star. But that’s personal preference of course. Overall I like the product a lot and feel it’s good quality. Will continue to purchase the protein, however, may just switch up the flavor.

Also, I love that they include free samples of different products with every order so far. It’s a fun bonus for me and also good business on their part because I will likely purchase some of the items in the future.

I first tried Whey-ISO a few weeks ago and I’m hooked. The flavors are delicious. I chose chocolate and vanilla cream pie and they’re absolutely delicious In my smoothies. I can’t wait to try Peanuts Butter.

This stuff is delicious, high quality protein. The only complaint I would have is the container size. I would really love to see a doubled size in the future. Other than that I’m Hooked for life.

It’s super smooth and the taste is somewhat accurate, but I can’t get over the artificial flavor. I was all about the RYSE hype with Noel and Davis Diley being my two favorite fitness influencers… I can see how some people can enjoy this, but it’s kind of like Propel.

You can taste the sucralose (zero calorie sugar) linger in your mouth, giving it this very artificial taste. It’s VERY easy to get down because of the smoothness and mix-ability, but I’d steer you away to try something else.

The protein and value is there, but I can’t recommend this flavor. Not sure about any other flavor, but I will be trying Ghost protein over RYSE. I would like to iterate that this is my first protein ever, and I can tell it’s high quality stuff, but I cannot preach the same message I hear from YouTube.

Yet again, I cannot compare it to any other kind of protein flavor, but based purely off of the actual Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal this tries to imitate, it is not accurate enough for me to genuinely enjoy.

It has a good hint of cinnamon, but actual cereal is flavored with primarily sugar. So when it’s replicated with artificial sugar, it makes it taste way off. They say that you can’t taste without smell, so I know smell impacts the taste in some kind of way.

As soon as I opened up the container, it smelled… stinky. Not rancid, but like food that had gone bad… Almost like bad milk by about two weeks to say the least. TL;DR: It smells kind of weird, and the taste is not very accurate or enjoyable (it is tolerable).

But it is smooth and mixes well.

The flavor is amazing and mixes great with water. There isn’t another protein powder out on the market that is as versatile as this one. I add it to oatmeal to create cinnamon toast oatmeal, the protein shakes mixed with water or milk of choice are delicious, and also protein ice cream is a dream with it.

I actually enjoy getting my protein in now besides dreading it like before. Not only does it taste amazing but the customer service and shipping time is amazing as well. Besides taste the macros are so good and a major contributing factor to my purchase in the first place.

I have only tried the cinnamon toast flavor but look forward to purchasing the fruity crunch in the future when in stock. The best way to describe just how good the flavor truly is would be to imagine a Cinnabon cinnamon roll without the guilt and calories and a whole bunch of protein added in.

Truly a great product, 10/10 would recommend.

First and foremost, Ryse has some awesome customer service. I ordered some products a week ago and the shipment had some issues including a broken seal do to UPS moving packages in a rapid manner ( I used to work in one of their hubs, I know how it goes).

I reached out to Ryse and within one business day they shipped me a new product to replace the one that was broken. They were extremely kind and understanding! The quality of the pre workout is amazing! The taste is something that I can actually get excited about drinking.

I combine the pre workout with the creatine and it works perfect for me. Also, I am trying the chocolate cookie blast at the moment and I’m loving it so far. Overall amazing company and likely the only company I’m going to go with for workout stuff! Thanks again for an amazing experience!.

I’m really pleased with the size and shape of the container. It’s not big and bulky like similar products. I can open the lid with just on hand, instead of both hands. I’m sorry, but that’s just one of my pet peeves! It mixes well with water or milk, in a shaker, blender, or stirring by hand.

I personally use a shaker, which is more convenient to mix and drink, on the go. It easily mixes with or without a shaker, so there’s no need to buy a shaker, if you don’t already have one. I first tried mixing it with water, which was not the best tasting, by far.

It tasted rather bland. The directions suggest mixing with skim milk, but I decided to try it with whole milk, instead. Which, I think was a great choice because it’s delicious with whole milk. Plus, I’m trying to gain weight (which is hard for me to do) and need the extra calories.

Vanilla is my go-to flavor choice, but I’m interested in trying the other flavors of MuscleTech Nitro-Tech 100% Iso Whey. This is a product that I will continue using, and definitely recommend it. Just remember, if you don’t the taste when mixed with water, try mixing with milk.

Protein 9/10This is where this product shines as it’s got 25g of protein per serving. It has 4 different types of protein which in turn gives multiple absorption rates. Overall 9/10Overall I loved this product as it doesn’t have an exaggerated amount of carbs or fat, but great protein content.

Love that there’s not too many calories per serving. Flavor 10/10This is where this protein freaking really truly shines! It really does taste like a peanut butter ice cream bar. Added some sugar free chocolate syrup and boom swear it tasted like a freaking Reese’s Ice Cream Bar.

Mixability 6/10This is where I found the most trouble and issue with this protein. No matter whether I mixed in Fairlife, almond or cashew milk it still left perfectly untouched protein powder. I even tried in a spider bottle, blender bottle and smart shaker and the same problem.

Used 8 oz, 10 oz and 12 oz for 1 scoop with still the same outcome.

I just bought this about a couple weeks ago,due to hard times and couldn’t buy the preferred protien I usually do. It’s okay. It taste suspect,but I didn’t have any side effects from digestion I usually get with other protein powders and my body seemed to acclimate to it.

When times get tough again,I can say it’s not a bad go to. ITS OKAY.

Flavor/Mixability 10/10 The thing I like best is the flavor and this stuff is delicious. The flavor is not strong and it allowed me to mix with less liquid for a stronger taste. I used 8oz of milk with 1 scoop and then I used 1 scoop with 6oz of milk.

The 6oz was perfect for me. It mixed just great and no clumping either. It is not a thick protein and has the consistency of chocolate milk. Profile 10/10 The PB Ice Cream is great with 150 calories, 5g of carbs, 3.

5g of fat and with 25g of protein per scoop. It’slend of Whey Protein Concentrate, Milk Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, and Milk Protein Isolate. Over All 10/10 This is a solid blend that taste amazing.

I am satisfied with this protein and looking forward to trying the other BPI proteins blends. I like to fact that they add ProHydrolase enzyme blend to this to helps well. ProHydrolase digests protein into bio-usable form, taking full advantage of the availability of essential amino acids for building muscle and improving muscle recovery, while also reducing the potential for digestive discomfort.

This was my previous protein try out. I didnt like it as it doesnt mix well with a spoon. It definitely needs a blender bottle, preferably with a spring ball. Taste was good, but I didnt like the stats.

It advertises 32g of protein on the outside, but requires 4 scoops to get 32g. If I take a 10-12oz mug and put two scoops I barely have any space left in the mug to mix it. That explains the needs for a blender cup.

Also very high in calorie content (320cal per 2 scoops, 40cal from fat). I think it is almost like a weight gainer, though fortunately I was able to maintain my weight by increasing my cardio frequency.

I like to drink my protein 3x a day since I am trying to maintain/build muscle, however I am also trying to get low in bf. This is certainly not the protein if you want to consume 1g per lb of body weight, as it is quite expensive.

I blew through mine in 1mo. If you are looking to consume 1x a day or looking to improve weight, go ahead by all means. But with goals similar to mine, stay away from this product.

I got sick and lost a lot of weight, when I got better and was able to eat, this product helped me gain my weight back and more. Great product, I’ve been using it for years.

I have both the chocolate and vanilla kasein and for the first time in all the years I’ve been taking supplements I have found a vanilla that I can actually drink. Kasein had some pretty big shoes to fill, I have had casein proteins in the past that I absolutely loved.

There is just one thing that I wish was a little different – casein proteins that I have had in the past made crazy thick shakes closer to the consistency of a milk shake and I really liked that about them.

The consistency of kasein in my experience is closer to the consistency that I would expect from a whey. In fact the re-kaged that I have mixes up thicker than the kasein. That is all I would change though – the flavors are excellent without all the artificial garbage and laundry list of unpronouncables you see on some brands.

While its not as thick as I would like it is still a very smooth shake, and that means a lot – no one wants a lumpy or grainy shake. I also cook with it. I will cook with both the chocolate and the vanilla – the vanilla has an almost classic cupcake sort of flavor to it that makes for some excellent protein waffles.

This is my 2nd review for this product. The first was based on the first jug having inconsistent flavor from horribly sweet to fine. Flavor doesn’t usually bother me, but some of the mix was sickingly sweet.

I let Kaged Muscle know of the problem. They graciously sent a 2nd jug without charge. The 2nd jug was fine with flavoring. This is my 2nd favorite protein ever, (I’ve seen many changes having used protein since coming in a can.

), it’s about the worst protein for mixing in a glass. I’ve found a very high quality competitor protein which does mix better in a glass. (It also tastes better. ) The mixing difficulties are because it’s extremely light and fluffy-I believe due to being high quality.

But, these days I rarely use a blender for mixing protein. When I was bodybuilding, my diet was managed more around the clock and mixing more protein in a 24 hour period. It was better using a blender.

Today, I don’t use a blender mixing protein only a few times a day. It’s better time management not having to clean blender(s) daily. If this protein wasn’t so difficult mixing in a glass, I would’ve given it a higher rating.

Despite the issues it’s still my 2nd favorite protein ever.

First off, the taste was absolutely delicious. There’s no artificial taste behind this protein that you get with a lot of other shakes. Everything tastes fresh and thick. Unlike a pre-workout that has immediate reaction to the product use, protein powders in general are hard to judge off of limited tries.

However, there most certainly was a difference with this product. The digestibility and assimilation in water was fantastic, no shaker ball in your cup necessary! In addition, due to the slow release nature of the product, I was kept full for HOURS after I had the shake.

This makes amino acid coverage and meal times much more flexible and convenient. I’ve also used this product for cooking and it’s use in the kitchen is phenomenal for pudding, pancakes, and baked goods due to the thick nature.

I’ve used Kaged Muscle products for a long time now, but still purchase other brand supplements out of sheer curiosity for taste and effect. EVERY time, I end up donating the other brands product to a friend because it’s simply not as good.

I am a very picky person when it comes to protein. I hate the taste of pretty much ALL proteins. No matter what flavor, they all taste gross to me. But this one, is the BEST PROTEIN I ever had. It tastes exactly like chocolate milk without the milk! I drink it with water a one ice cube, and it is so good that I want to have another 10oz of this protein.

I’ve also had the peanut butter and strawberry, and they are great as well! So, if you hate the taste of protein and think they all taste nasty, then give this one a try.

So good. A bit of aftertaste from sweeteners. Take the stevia out imho. I was looking to replace the excellent whey protein powder that was discontinued by another brand. This product ingredient list is so similar, the flavor so excellent… only difference the other had stronger vanilla Carmel flavor without the stevia aftertaste.

I’ll stick with onnit’s product as it is superior to everything else I’ve tried.

Onnit takes a lot of pride in the products they make. I can understand that not everything will be perfect. I order many other products from them after thoroughly going thru their ingredients. Only down side of this protein powder is that they place sunflower oil in it.

Aside from olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil many of the seed oils are not good for the human gut biome; and that is generally due to the fact of how it is processed and made. I checked with the manufacturer that supplies the sunflower oil to this company, and it is refined, not cold pressed.

There are many other issues with seed oils and its’ affects on the human body, but one can do research and find out all this information.

Smooth and tasty. I like my shakes creamy, so I usually make them with some sort of milk (dairy or nut). But I tried this with water too and it is still smooth and creamy. It is not gritty either. The cinnamon adds a great extra taste and kick.

I will totally buy this again.

This company is a scam, they take your money and say you will receive it with free shipping in 5-7days. Weeks go by and they still don’t send you a receipt or shipping info, you call the company leave messages and they don’t call back, you email for them to tell you they are all out of product and don’t give you a expected lead time.

They don’t put on the website the product is out or back ordered, they take your money and then don’t even write you either. They take your money and just expect to keep it and not deliver? They also claim theirs 30 grams of protein in each serving yet the scoop size it 7.

5 grams for gen 2 or 11grams for gen 3 versions, this is a clear scam!!! Don’t buy from them, they mainly target bariatric surgery patients in the attempt to steal our money in my opinion.

genepro states that it has 58. 7 calories per scoop. This also proves that it is not 30 grams of protein. Protein yields 4 calories per gram. If you have 30 grams of protein that would give you 120 calories.

How do they get around this? The little notation by the “30” on the label. It’s the ONLY protein in the market that puts the mark there. The ONLY one. They claim that their protein absorbs three times better thus magically turning it to 30! Ask anyone in the protein powder field (chemist) and they will likely refute this whole theory.

As well read about Brian M Parks (owner who stated this company and product) and his imprisonment with Apex for fraudulently mislabelling other products. This is one protein I would never use based on scienc.

Decent, unflavored and easily mixes into room temp foods/beverages. That being said, don’t trust the nutritional information label. This bag (everything before version 3) says there’s 30g** of protein but following the lawsuit that they were named in & reading through the trial(s) they did, you will find that there is no result to the lawsuit at this time, but the changed most of their packaging labels to read differently (no longer ‘medical grade’ & doesn’t say 30g protein).

Better off sticking with Isopure or Unjury.

I hope customer care should respond more responsible than disrespecting them
