This is a great printer that works well with no issues. The main advantage for those of you looking for a printer that is compatible with both User Eats and GrubHub apps/tablets in a restaurant setup, this is the one.

I wanted to thank you another reviewer who mention about such compatibility, because it is not obvious that this printer is compatible using only recommendations from Uber/GrubHub. For example, Uber only claims compatibility with a Bluetooth model, but not with the Ethernet one (this one).

Regardless, this printer works really well with Uber — as a matter of fact potentially better than the Bluetooth model because there is no wireless/Bluetooth connection involved. Definitely recommended for such restaurant setup.

The printer is not new as it is described. It was used printer with heavy dust and not working. Don’t be fooled by ‘relevant reviews’. Those reviews are nothing to do with the actual product. They are generic reviews misleading the potential buyers.

Buying a used receipt printer could take a little bit of extra work. I had to search the web for help and found I needed to do a reset to get it on my LAN. Just took a little extra time; but, worth it versus the cost of this item new out of the box.

As someone who has been using the related GK420D variant of this printer for our postage and courier labelling we didn’t take on board the differences between the Direct and Transfer types of thermal printer so we made the mistake of purchasing a second D (Direct) variant for our stock labelling.

Cut to a year later when we found that the labels were starting to fade particularly when they came into direct light and THEN we did the sensible thing of checking the specifications and finding out about the Thermal Transfer variant of printer (which this type of printer is).

Thermal Transfer printers like the GK420T basically use a ribbon of wax, wax/resin mix or resin “ink” to form the printed image on a glossy label and as a result they are a LOT more durable. Be sure to pick the correct type of ribbon for your needs (wax less durable than resin) and compatible labels.

Beyond the generic “know your printer” and “learn from us” nugget of intel, this printer is working out great for us. We’ve identified coloured label and coloured ribbon options so we can stock rotate quickly and easily by changing out our labels and ribbons at specific intervals.

The output is a little blurred at times but is still readable by barcode reader using an EAN13 barcode font. All in all, you can’t go wrong. Great little unit.

The printer is great, a huge improvement from previous models. It works great with any type of Shipping label printing you need to do. eBay, Amazon, Endicia, Stamps, all of it. Paper rolls super cheap if you do your homework and search for them.

This is a great little machine, but I recommend you open it right away to make sure your adhesive film cartridge is not defective. Use it a few times to make sure it works. I bought this in September and waited to use it during my crafting weekend with my friends.

It would not work correctly so I opened the cartridge and the film was all over the place. I tried fixing it and wasted nearly all the adhesive film trying to figure out how it works. I wished they had better quality control, thus the 3 stars.

If you need to make lots of labels at the ready, this isn`t the product for you: it requires software and a computer and fussing to generate labels, so it`s too high-barrier for most household uses. That said, it is a decent little printer.

It loads very easily, and the minimal controls are what`s needed. As a bonus, it actually comes with a USB cable in the box, unlike any other printer ever. I don`t know how many different sizes of tape it takes, but it comes with a 2.

4″ continuous tape in the box, which looks to be about the maximum width that can be supported. For what it`s worth, there doesn`t seem to be any functional reason why this couldn`t also be a receipt printer, though I have not tested this out and don`t know if the machine would recognize receipt tape.

The weak point here is the software. The website for the drivers listed in the pamphlet never loaded. The product is not listed on Brother`s US website. Eventually through some Googling I found a Brother site with all sorts of different drivers and downloads; there I was able to finally find an install a driver and the label maker software.

Once I got the drivers installed, I struggled to do a test print. What I didn`t realize is that Windows doesn`t automatically detect and set the paper size, even though the printer is apparently capable of detecting its media.

Once I figured out the right paper size to set, I could finally print a test page. Similar paper sizing headaches plague the label software. Most templates don`t load in a way that makes sense with the paper tape that`s loaded, and trying to adjust the templates to fit into your loaded tape can lead to some wacky results if you`re not careful, for example a “garlic salt” label that`s 2 inches high and 18 inches long.

In general, the label maker software is clunky, unpredictable, and fussy, and doesn`t use any of the existing conventions of desktop publishing. Trying to do the simplest tasks, like resizing a piece of clip-art, are headache-inducing.

To its credit, the label software does have a robust barcode generator. This, too, is also hampered by bizarre limitations: why can`t you make a QR code bigger than 1″ by 1″? Just because! I also never figured out how to make multiple labels with one printout, which could be a limitation if you need to print out a huge amount of price tags or kitchen labels or whatever.

Overall, a decent little machine (if it fits your purpose), hampered by drivers and software that are not ready for prime time.

However, I did not like that I had to download A LOT of software to use the label maker. I try not to download things to my computer and I had to download 4 separate things to use the label maker. It provides a design software, however the templates are boring and generic – they reminded me of things you would see on Apple computers back in 1995.

Also, even though I told it to select designs for the label size I included, it still did not and there were not a lot of options for the size I was using. The directions that came with the label maker were not clear on what to do once you installed all of the software.

I have used handheld label makers and they seemed more intuitive and had more fun designs/fonts. I also wish that there was a way to print in color. It may be a possibility with other labels that I can input into the printer.

Based on my expectations, it did not meet what I was thinking, especially design-wise. However it was fast, which was nice. I had to play around with it in order to get it to print return address label sized labels on the label paper I was given – it should automatically size to what is in the printer.

It was much bigger than I expected. It needs to be connected to a computer or laptop. It prints in black and white only. SETUP: I consider myself tech savvy, but I can see some people might have trouble with the instructions and setup procedure.

The instructions are brief and to the point, but the images were slightly confusing. Also, when installing the software, it is not very clear where to go and open up the software. I am on a MAC. I found what I needed, but if someone is not good with technology, they might have a difficult time locating the software after it is installed.

SOFTWARE: I like that the software includes templates to use. It allows you to play around with the fonts, text sizes and other built-in designs. I save a ton of affirmations and inspirational quotes, so I picked out a few of my favorite and added the picture as a new file and printed them.

I am excited to post these on my board, so I can remind myself to stay positive and everything will be ok. I make essential oil blends for various issues. I will be using this label printer to label my glass bottles.

It’s a great label printer and was working fine until it ran out of labels. I replaced the labels but it won’t reconnect to the network. Apparently I have to restart the router (kick all my co-workers and other devices off the internet) just to get it to connect again.

Terrible network interface. BRAdmin Pro 4 is useless to resolve the issue. It says Error but won’t say what the error is and won’t allow you to reset it or reset the connection. After a few restarts of the printer, it just says No Connection now though there is no error on the device and all the lights are green.

It just wont connect. It’s super frustrating. Even on initial setup, I had to use the USB because it wouldn’t connect any other way. Brother should really get the interface and connection issues corrected.

I have never had a label printer so it’s hard for me to compare. I wish the labels printed darker. They are sufficient, but the addresses seem a little light to me. I bought this printer because it was one of the few specifically supporting Macs, so I appreciate that, and because it can be used with wi-fi.

The big negative of this printer is that you have to buy Brother labels which are a lot more expensive than other brands. If I had to choose again, I might try harder to use a different brand with cheaper label options.

I bought the smaller printer first and really liked it. I have a travel wall for large printed selected photos. Now that I have bought the bigger printer, I can print more travel photos for the wall.

I am absolutely loving my HP Large Format Printer T600 36”! Not only can it print a variety of page sizes, but it prints fast for the amount of work it has to do, has a super sleek design which is perfect for a professional look, but is also is small enough so it doesn’t take up an entire room.

Since COVID began, many of us began working from home more, my husband and I being those people. I am a Civil Engineer, which means I have to print plan sets often for submittals or to mark up and revise designs.

My husband on the other hand has to install commercial stainless kitchen equipment, which means he typically needs a plan sheet with product details on it with him to make sure the equipment is built and installed properly.

Putting this plotter together did take slightly over an hour but the time it took to set the printing app after all parts were assembled took just a few minutes. We received this printer to use for a large runway reconstruction project. The printer arrived without any difficulty and was extremely easy to setup. The drivers for the printer were large (1. 1 GB) and were not included in an installation DVD with the printer, which made it difficult to install at our location.

After downloading the drivers, we began using the printer. The quality of the prints in unquestionable; the fine detail for full scale drawings was impeccable and it was easy to use. I’ve primarily worked with HP Design Jet printers, and this printer provided the quality I expected.

The only complaint from our engineering team was that the printer did not readily print from all programs. PDF files were able to be printed on both 24″ and 36″ paper; however, the printer had issues printing on the 36″ paper from our design software.

The HP Smart application was not useful in addressing the printing issues. After installing the drivers, it was still necessary to print from the desired application and adjust the print settings there.

Changing between paper sizes is effortless as the printer automatically detects and feeds the paper. Overall, the printer is extremely capable and is a great value for the cost of the paper and ink cartridges compared to sending drawings to be printed by a subcontractor.

This printer can be used to print blueprints, large art projects or anything that you need to print. It prints in black and white and also in color. The color cartridges are small and easy to replace/insert.

The large tray to catch the printed papers falls in front of the printer, so you’ll need to accommodate extra room in your office/home for that, but it’s large enough to catch the big printed blueprints, etc.

I bought the Brother MFC-J6955DW printer over other well known brands/models with similar features because of the A3 scanner. It is the first Brother printer I have ever owned, and I was initially very happy with it running under Windows 10, despite getting the occasional “Connection Error” message when scanning, and most times when using the printer for the first time in a day.

Although irritating, it wasn’t high on my list of things to do, I had a power off/on work around, and a lot of scanning to do. But over time it has become more annoying and seemingly more frequent since I upgraded to Windows 11.

Today I have finally reached my tipping point as I cannot get the scanner to connect at all. I do almost all scanning via Brother iPrint&Scan on the PC, and I’ve followed the guidance offered both online, and on Brothers website, to remove and reinstall software, check connections, networks, etc.

, etc. I’ve tried wired network, wireless network, IPv6 on and off, Firewall on/off, rebooted my switch, the list goes on, all with no positive effect. The only success I had was when I returned from an hours lunch, I tried a basic scan which worked.

At this point I wondered if takes a very long time to connect, I really had got beyond caring, so I loaded my documents again, hit go, “Connection Error” … aaaaaaaghhhh. I’m about to see if I can factory reset the printer itself, remove every trace of Brother from Windows 11, and set it all up again from scratch, but it just should not be this hard to get something working.

I’ve worked in IT for 35 years, and whilst it’s definitely possible that I’ve done something wrong during setup, how on earth a normal people are supposed to work with these issues is beyond me. My only recommendation for this printer (and I suspect the whole range) is to buy something else and hope it works without these issues.

Hopefully Brother will come back to me and let me know what’s wrong and how to fix it, and I can post a glowing update about their after sales service. Meanwhile I’ll be preparing the RMA paperwork and looking for something else more reliable.

After frustrating months of researching laser and inkjet printers, with features and performance seemingly designed to be lacking in some respect and reviews all over the board, we decided to try this printer.

After a few weeks of giving it a pretty good workout on a variety of tasks, we are very pleased. The only reason for “fingers crossed” is that it is new and we want to see how well it lasts. The printer has performed very well in printing, scanning and photocopying.

It is fast and quiet. Text and graphics have been precise and sharp. I read one review that said the print quality was poor. The text might be a teensy bit less dark than our previous printer, but we find it entirely acceptable and we are happy with it with it.

Also, we have been quite pleasantly surprised at how good printing photos has been on both plain paper and on glossy photo paper. Plus, we love, love, love the ink tank feature, which means we can print photos and anything we want to our hearts content without worry about the cost.

Freedom from cartridges! The printer is full-featured, and the only feature it does not have that we would like is duplex scanning (it has duplex printing, which has worked very well). One note: it is a pretty large printer for home use so be sure to check the dimensions.

Set-up took a while just because of the number of steps and downloading a firmware update, but it went smoothly with no glitches. When we first started printing, an 8×11 photo on plain paper had some horizontal lines and a photo on HP matter paper also had some marks on it.

Brother Support (a real person!) was responsive and very helpful. The plain paper issue resolved itself (not sure why, maybe a driver issue?) and multiple printings since then have been perfect. For the photo paper issue Support suggested trying a different paper.

We switched to glossy paper, which has been perfect for both Brother 4×6 and Epson 5×7 paper. So, problems solved with little effort. Since then, we have been cruising along with smiles. If this keeps up, it will have been an excellent purchase.

I’ve been a QL-570 user for several years. I wanted a network printer where others on my network could print shipping labels and postage for items sold on Ebay. Recent releases of Java, which is used by Ebay’s shipping center, have disabled the printing of shipping labels & postage with thermal printers.

This is an effort by Sun Microsystems to prevent hackers getting into your computer through Java. My trusty QL-570 label printer no longer worked printing labels for my Ebay Shipping. I thought it was a great time to upgrade to the QL-720NW.

However, this printer didn’t work either. After much research, I discovered how to clear Java’s cache in their control panel in Windows 7 and print normally with my QL-720NW. What a fast, beautiful job it does in wirelessly printing Ebay shipping labels and postage.

I can now place my printer anywhere and print wirelessly from any PC or App on the network. Cool stuff. For sure Brother Label Printer support staff should be aware of this Java workaround to allow thermal printers to work when printing within Ebay’s Shipping Center.

It’s an easy fix to a frustrating problem. Additionally, Brother Support should tell wireless users of their label printers, that the Brother wireless print driver in Windows is listed as “Brother QL-720NW (copy 1)”.

This may be confusing to HP users who are accustomed to seeing (Network) instead of (Copy 1). I love my Brother QL-720NW label printer.

I bought this printer with the intentions of printing barcodes, shipping labels and other things. The sample labels it comes with is enough to get you started out of the box. They adhere well to most surfaces and the print is very clear.

It connects to my WIFI network flawlessly. The software does take a little getting used to if you have never used brother products. I like that this printer has almost no waste. The continuous labels automatically position themselves so there is nearly 0 waste.

Being that this printer is a thermal printer, there are no ink cartridges to buy. I have used portable label makers that waste so much label that it gets too expensive to refill. The replacement cartridges are pretty expensive if you are looking to do weather resistant labels.

For the most part I will be making basic labels that do not need weather resistance. The printer itself has a very small footprint, is easy to load and change labels and performs very well. Overall I would recommend this printer.

This printer is attractive for its price. Will do many label jobs you may want as an amateur user or for the household. Wi-Fi connection is easy but unnecessary intricate. Its design is well done but a little bit sturdy.

But do not expect it will fulfill your needs. The printer can be used only with Brother labels limiting you from expanding or finding a solution for your project. The consumables cost are crazy expensive so be prepared! Do not buy this printer! Consumables are costly and you only can use Brother Brand labels.

It won’t help you in your needs. Money wasted.

IšverstiShow in original languageUntil recently I used only Epson large format printers (at least desktop large format, having used the 4000, 4800, and 4900). In each instance, when they worked, they did so extremely well.

I’m an amateur photographer who likes to produce fine art prints, but mostly for myself and occasionally for others. As many have previously complained, the Epson printers constantly suffered from clogged heads.

I went through two Epson 4900s and the last one has still been functioning, but sometimes takes numerous cleanings on one or more channels to get it up to printing perfectly. It’s a matter of the head technology.

Canon uses thermal heads and Epson uses piezo heads. Purportedly the piezo heads are able to lay down finer droplets giving greater continuous tone and the ability to manage slight gradients more effortlessly.

While the new Epsons claim to use technology to reduce clogs, only time will tell (the Epson 24 and 44-inch new printers have only seen significant use for about 6 months). I’ve concluded that I had given enough of my money to Epson over the years and it was time to try something different.

So I went with the Canon 4100. However long the heads on it will last, they are user-replaceable. While not inexpensive (about $600), Epson heads are not user-replaceable and the cost of labor and materials is close enough to the cost of a new machine that you might as well buy new.

As far as print quality, I am very pleased. Fine detail in the image is rendered beautifully, the deepest blacks are rendered dark black and the shades of black are distinguishable (not that the Canon or any reflective media can render the tonal range available on a transmissive light monitor).

I have a fully color-managed process and the colors match very well (though as with any printer, one can always nit-pick small variations) Admittedly, I haven’t printed any images with strong reds, which has supposedly been Canon’s weakness – tending to the magenta – even with the best profiles.

Epson on the other hand has the reputation of having more difficulty with blues, tending to the slightly purplish. I never thought to anyone who wasn’t being hyper-critical that my Epson prints had a poor representation of blue colors and I will likely feel similarly about Canon reds.

For full disclosure, I have long used ImagePrint rips for both my Epson printer and now my Canon printers. I don’t have the patience to deal with profiling papers with top quality profiling equipment and software (i.

e. X-Rite i1Photo Pro 3 Plus), so I gulped at the price and went with ImagePrint Black for the Canon 4100. In conclusion, so far I couldn’t be happier and the quality of my prints has been outstanding.

It has exceeded every expectation and blown Epson out of the water. The worst part of this printer is getting it out of the box and on its stand. They recommend 6 people to achieve this and that’s absolutely nonsense.

Easily moved, carried and setup by 2 people who know how to lift extremely heavy things. The only issue is the roller system on the bottom, it makes it near impossible for you to set it down once it’s out of the box but not on the stand.

I would set the stand up first, then set the printer on that right out of the box. But shame on canon engineers, this is such a dumb design for an overall wonderful device. Don’t listen to the 1 star review here.

This person doesn’t even have a VERIFIED PURCHASE of this printer and sounds like an Epson fan who is just mad Canon makes a far superior product. Main reason I purchased this is the ink system that does not require switching, the ability to replace the print head myself for a reasonable price, and the endless types of media it can print on.

Once it starts up it’s incredibly fast printing, finishing a 48×24 in under 8 min. The touch screen and options are very easy to use and incredibly powerful. The driver and printing experience is professional grade, leaps and bounds better than Canon’s cheaper models.

I wish the paper catcher was high quality. It’s ok, but it feels very delicate and I’d appreciate more stability and more rigid materials. The casters are fine, wish they were roller blade style wheels but they are high quality and easy to move.

La seconde est la connexion wifi. Je travaille sur surface pro, mes enfants utilisent leur tablette ou smartphone et tout le monde peut imprimer sans problème. J’ai quand même un peu galéré pour la connexion avec l’imprimante en utilisant l’appli HP, mais je crois que cela était dû à mon réseau domestique qui rencontrait quelques soucis de connexion.

Par contre, une fois paramétrée, l’impression est très facile, recto verso possible et de bonne qualité.

Premièrement, son côté esthétique me plaît beaucoup. Ayant décoré mon bureau dans les tons blanc, vert et marbre, elle se fond tout à fait dans le décor. Ensuite, mon copain avait déjà une imprimante depuis quelques années, mais il ne fallait pas énormément d’impressions pour que le niveau des cartouches baisse rapidement.

Ici, elles sont toujours pratiquement pleines alors que nous avons déjà imprimé pas mal de documents et photos. Travaillant tous les deux en ligne et depuis notre domicile, cette imprimante nous convient donc parfaitement, puisqu’en plus de tout cela, elle est très rapide.

Bref, nous sommes absolument ravis de ce produit et ne pouvons que le recommander à quiconque recherche une imprimante de qualité, rapide et économique.

Setup was a cinch. I barely used the manual. PC downloaded the driver, I think automatically as I connected the printer. Figuring out how to properly size the labels took 2 or 3 test runs, but after that it’s been flawless and very fast.

It’s definitely making my shipping a much easier exercise. I got the printer factory reconditioned, and upon receiving it, it looked brand new in plastic. I went on to order (from another seller) a highly rated stack of 1000 labels.

I did have to tinker in Rollo settings to print the Darkest it could, otherwise the barcodes were a bit weak/lite. That said, a new Rollo of this model is fairly expensive for not having Wi-Fi capability.

But I couldn’t see spending hundreds more for one that had Wi-Fi. In this day in age, I think it’s practical to expect everything to work wirelessly, but that’s not the case with all printers, whether ink or thermal.

So the Rollo remains connected to my PC, and I can’t just print from the app on my phone. Minor inconvenience, but I’ll upgrade eventually. If you’re not very familiar with printer setups, you’ll need to select 4×6 label, and perhaps even reduce the size from 100% (fit to label) to 95% to fit, otherwise on my first test run I found it started printing the next label (in a batch of labels) a bit lowerthan I wanted.

A label holder or oe sort wold be a good idea, because if the labels aren’t feeding into the printer perfectly, they may turn a little inside the printer & print crooked. I recommend.

This is an updated review: I purchased this printer in March 2021. I had never dealt with this type of printer before and had no idea how it should work until it did. It never scanned well for me at home so I had to manually enter in all my codes.

I only realized today because USPS advised that I need to get the printer aligned in order for them to scan the labels. The postman went on to explain that they had an excellent scanners that can basically scan all kinds of labels and even their scanners were having difficulties.

This was always an issue from the very get-go and I thought it was just user error as I was new to this. Now I know better. Unfortunately, I’m out of $150 and we’ll have to purchase the whole new setup.

Researched quite a few thermal printers before getting this manufacturer refurbished printer at a great price. No regrets. One of the advantages is this printer can use rolled or fanfold labels. No ink necessary.

I don’t like the idea of printing the packing slip on a label – but it actually works out great. I used to print on plain paper, cut to size and tape. I would print the label on one side of 8. 5″ sheet and flip to print packing slip on other side.

Now with the thermal printer it is just print, stick and ship. Thermal print labels is the way to go.

this has meet all of our expectations. Easy to use, great quality of prints. the only problem we’ve had with it was connecting to the internet which is required. Their is a glitch in the firmware on ours that says there is no connection when there is.

We originally purchased this product for a local distillery who needed “Award Winning” labels on their product. Unfortunately they didn’t take ink very well and they failed the water safe test. The ink stayed, but the adhesive immediately failed the moment water was introduced.

However, the material was repurposed for decorations. Our local Chamber was having a big reception, so they asked us to make them stars to hang with various business names on. We applied this Metallic Vinyl to foam board cut outs and it looked awesome! Additionally we used it on the back of index cards the MC was using, as well as for the labels in the invitations.

I really cannot at this time fairly rate this machine. It is a very complex unit in which I am having to learn. I purchased the master class to help me throughout this process. I can tell you I will rate this machine 5 stars on the packaging and the appearance of the product when I received it.

It was very well packed. I also loved that the sheet with it was laminated and makes for easy keeping. I do have the machine upacked, the cartridges loaded and waiting for me to understand. (lol) I do however look forward to seeing if this machine will be all that I hope for it to be!.

I have been looking into this printer for some time. I finally decided to buy it and Swing Design had amazing packages to choose from and the fastest shipping. I would highly recommend them. Great white toner printer.

I don’t care for the software you need to use with it. Very confusing for a Mac girl.

I was debating between this and a Sawgrass. Swing Design was great at helping make the right decision for my business. There was a learning curve with the Uninet 560, but now I am loving it! Great for making transfers to sell and creating one off shirts.
