20 Best Primer For Dry Skin And Wrinkles (2023 Updated)

Finding this product has been a real game changer for me. I’ve been using the Pure Pressed Mineral Foundation for years, but thought it might be a little “cakey” looking on me. I loved it and didn’t want to give it up, but switched to the Glow Time foundation and this face primer.

I decided to use Smooth Affair under the Pure Pressed Mineral Foundation and found that the powder foundation looked even better! I now have 2 foundations that both look great after applying Smooth Affair.

🖤 This primer has been a must have for all makeup lovers for a couple of years now. With ingredients such as Koolin Clay and White Charcoal, it is known to help absorb oil and leave a blurred out finish.

🖤 This primer is reasonably priced (£9) and personally I only use the smallest amount through my t-zone, as this is where i can get a little shinier. 🖤 Although this looks bright white, it works on all skin tones as it goes on colourless.

I wouldn’t recommend to use this all over the face if you don’t have oily skin. Focus on the areas that need blurring out. 🖤 When I applied it to the cheek area on the side of my nose I did find that there was some texture after I applied my foundation.

This is probably because my skin is a little drier there. 🖤When applied down the centre of my nose and a little on the chin, it really does prevent shine, and especially when the weather is hot and humid as it keeps the makeup from melting or looking shiny.

🖤 I will say I love the texture, it’s velvety and applies smoothly and it really does help makeup grip nicely to it. Definitely recommend if you are looking for something to control shiny areas, but avoid applying to dry / balanced areas as it will cause some texture.

I wanted to try a new primer, and I specifically wanted to look at what e. l. f. had to offer. What drew me initially was the appearance of the product; I really liked it. I also was glad there were a variety of e.

l. f. primers to choose from. However, the feel of the product was thicker than I had expected / than I had used before, and it felt oily when I applied it. The next thing I did was to smell the product, and I was shocked by the scent.

It resembled the smell of chemicals. The scent is so harsh that it made me instantly worry that the product may be harmful, even though I was pretty confident it would not, based on e. l. f. ‘s solid reputation.

The primer definitely grabs onto concealer and foundation and holds them securely – but a little too well because it makes it difficult to blend the makeup I applied. I plan to use the rest of the primer since I can’t afford to be wasteful, but I definitely will not purchase it again.

Even though my experience with this specific product has been negative, I will continue to use and try other e. l. f. products. I rarely ever leave negative reviews, but the smell of this product is so bad that I want other people to know about it before they decide to make the same purchase.

I’ve been using the matte putty primer on days where the humidity in Dallas is very high & it will definitely be my holy grail primer during the hot & humid summer. (I use the poreless putty primer during colder, dryer, weather).

I love how this primer prevents my skin from looking greasy & gives it a beautiful polished matte finish, even w/o foundation. I use the primer brush w/applicator for a very even finish. This is the perfect primer for the humid climates in the south.

I’ve used many primers & products prevent oily breakthroughs & believe me, this one beats them all! This product feels yummy on my skin. You won’t regret purchasing this product. The quality & price of the product are stunning.

Ok, this is the MOST EFFICIENT way of “getting” the primer (any of there printers) out. TILL THE LAST DROP:)! 1; NEVER USE THE PUMP! out of the box, don’t even try. Shake well (best you can), unscrew top and carefully lift.

Dab your finger or whatever you apply with on the pump “hose” and use that. 2; When your running low, and the stiff hose can no longer collect the primer. Grab a q-tip pull all the “cotton” off one end and bend to reach all the places its stuck! 🙂 especially the top of the bottle!!! I’ve been using mineral fusion primer for about 4 years.

and with just a q-tip you can get another MONTH+ worth of the product out:).

Applying the product is a unique experience – it almost feels like putting hair gel or glue on but it feels good? Not sure how best to describe it. I do know that it is a fantastically sticky primer.

You don’t have to use a lot. It doesn’t make you look ashy. I didn’t have any issues with using my foundation or other products on top of it. It is a light layer and my skin has been better for it. I feel like it creates a better barrier than creamier products I’ve used so I don’t notice as many new blemishes popping up after a long-wear day (like 12 hours+).

It also doesn’t seem to add to or take away from my moisturizing routine. It has also helped me use less foundation – so maybe that’s where the skincare benefits are really coming in. I also love that it locks closed.

I only wish I could see in the packaging so I can tell how low it is.

I saw this was “all the rage” and as a professional makeup artist I had to try it. The texture is unlike any primer or really any product I’ve used before. It almost evaporates as you spread it, it’s tacky and jelly in texture and I felt like I needed more to spread it and cover my whole face.

Did it out perform other products I’ve used? No. Was I more hydrated and glowy than the other products I used? No. Did it make my foundation last longer? No. Was my skin smoother and poreless? No. And truth be told, my skin didn’t look as smooth and poreless as it normally does!! So I will keep trying this to see if I haven’t gotten the knack of it yet.

Maybe I’ll end up loving it. Now, for me, it’s just ok.

I bought this mainly because my Mermaid look for Halloween wasn’t lasting long at all. I went to ULTA and asked for the best primer they had and OMG. This stuff made my face last all DAY and NIGHT LONG.

Get this if you have issues with makeup not lasting as long as you’d like. I will agree with another reviewer that it feels like you’re putting hair gel on your face and initially looks shiny. However, when you apply your make up, it grips it and appeared both more vibrant than without it.

The finished product is not matte unless you’re applying non-matte makeup. I will definitely buy this again. Without this product, my makeup definitely doesn’t last.

After I tried this, I couldn’t wait for my daughter-in-law to give it a try. Oh my goodness – it feels so wonderful going on your skin. She loved it too. A little goes a long way and I use it in place of a foundation.

It provides light coverage to give your skin an unblemished look. And I love that it has SPF 30 to protect my skin daily. I bought it with my LovelySkin rewards money thinking it would be a good way to try a new product.

I love the slickness of this primer. Each morning I apply my vitamin C, moisturizer, SPF and then this primer before my foundation. Other primers have balled or pilled when I would apply my foundation.

This primer creates a smooth canvas for the application of my foundation. I have used other brands of foundations and it works very well. More recently, I started using Glo Liquid Foundation. The primer allows my makeup to stay smooth and fresh all day.

So i purchased the Yellow primer for redness correction in the hope that it would reduce the rosy cheeks i have, unfortunately I am very disappointed with this. The product has a nice consistency, and goes on smoothly, but does not noticably reduce redness.

Put on foundation next and oh dear, not only does my foundation not stay in place for any length of time, but the red cheeks peek through quite significantly. Attempted using it on eyes to see if it would provide extra staying power/crease resistance to eye shadows, but that did not work either.

This was tried with a clinique full coverage foundation (Hydrate & Refresh), and that was a total disaster, it also does not seem to behave any differently with other makes of foundation that i have tried (BareMinerals/MAC), This is a real shame, as i was really hoping this would work.

I was assured by the staff that I spoke with at Ulta, that this was a top notch product and that it would work well with the Clinique hydro moisturizer she also talked me in to purchasing. I love the moisturizer.

This primer is TERRIBLE!! It is dry coming out of the tube, toothpaste consistency or thicker, it does not blend well on the skin, and when my foundation is applied, it all becomes cakey and pills on my skin.

it flakes off all over. I LITERALLY HAVE TO REWASH AND START OVER! When I removed the primer, and use a drug store primer, my foundation lays perfectly. What a waste of money if it does not play nice with other products in its own brand lineup.

I even tried it without using the moisturizer first, still the same cakey, flaky problem. I want my money back! It’s a one star rating only because I had to pick something to write the review.

I love the way this primer feels, as it’s not tacky and doesn’t have the silicone feel that most primer have. However, like many Clinique products, this only likes to work with other Clinique products and doesn’t play well with others.

The yellow tint helps redness some, but really just kind of knocks the edge off of it and not really “correct” it. Still is a great product though that I’ve used time and time again.

Who knew! and it was liberating!! my face didn’t look as old lady fake, i looked more natural with just eye makeup and a little blush, i blended, put on my favorite pink lipstick and i looked great!! If you feel like you look radiant after a week or two of using – do what I did and see if anyone compliments you!? IF IF IF they negatively say something RECON girls we aren’t teenagers so come on laugh it off and say you’ve been having HOT FLASHES, (LOL) Not Sleeping well, they will all nod and move on.

This is a decent primer overall. It goes on smooth and has a minty/menthol-like smell. The smell isn’t super strong, but it did burn a little when I put it on the drier parts of my skin, such as under my eyes.

My foundation applied nicely over it, but it didn’t help with the longevity at all. In fact, throughout the day, my foundation began to break apart around my mouth and nose area. By the end of the day, there was hardly any foundation left on those areas.

It was pretty strange, it just evaporated. This primer was the only new product I was using, at the time, so that had to be it. Plus, I really didn’t see any improvement with my wrinkles. That was a disappointment considering it has “anti-wrinkle” right there in the name of the product.

So I won’t be repurchasing this one anytime soon. There are better products out there, that’s for sure.

I was very nervous about using this primer because I have very oily skin. The last thing I need is a product giving me shine before natural oils start to break through and take over. This primer did not do that.

On my very oily skin, it gave me a natural finish. It provides a good surface for any liquid or powder foundation to apply on. Somehow, it manages to hold my oils abay for a tad longer than some supposed oil controlling primers.

I was very surprised. It also adds to the final finish, where for a couple if hours I look radiant. Then my oils come through and mess everything up. But for a radiant primer, I was very impressed. I still use it now, if I know I’m not going to be exerting myself or the weather is cooler.

Definitely not a summer primer for those of us with oily skin.

It’s just okay, in my opinion. There’s so many on the market to choose from now and I didn’t find anything about this that I didn’t like per Se but, it just didn’t wow me. MAC has a great strobe priner for radiance, and there’s that ciate london watermelon burst if you’re going for that dewy look.

Hourglass mineral veil or for a hydrated look the no. 28 primer serum are some of my favorite go to primers. It’s been a while ago since I got a deluxe sample of this and used it, I’ll admit, but with bb creams and cc creams and blurring primers and, well you get the point, there just wasn’t anything all that memorable for me with this primer.

I love this line, but imo, this product just sorta blended in.

Underwhelming. Like the other reviews, when it’s suchhhh a good brand, like Cover FX, you only expect products that wow you. This product doesn’t do that. It’s just okay. It’s unscented, so if you’re not into strong scents, this could work.

It does pill a little under makeup because it’s so tacky/gel-like. To avoid this, you really have to work it into the skin. I wouldn’t say it is a mousse. I lean towards combo/oily skin and this doesn’t make me shiny, but it does give you a more dewy sheen than anything, so if you want a matte look, I wouldn’t reach for this.

I much prefer Ole Henriksen’s Banana Bright primer and found myself grabbing that over this. I will say I like that this is focused on fighting blue light and urban free radicals because I’m in front of a computer for work 24/7.

But did I notice any visible difference to my skin? Not really.

I know I’ve watched many reviews on YouTube from my favorite beauty gurus about how bad Silicone based primers are for your face and that they obstruct your pores or don’t allow make-up to really set in with your skin.

Given that I’m 41 and past my acne prone days, (which was horrible) and that I’ve tried thousands of make-up and skin products, I’ve not once seen anything bad happen to my skin when using. I’ve also tried several blurring primers and Smashbox pore reducer primer used to be my favorite.

That is until I purchased this on a whim from Ulta. This primer is my absolute favorite one out there. I’ve bought it repeatedly and don’t even mind the price point because it’s that’s good. I have normal to sometimes dry skin (especially with the use of retinol) that is fair with a nice even complexion.

I am 41 so my skin does have signs of aging and I don’t like the appearance of my pores on my cheek area. Not only does this primer smooth over my pores to create a nice smooth canvas it also smoothed out my fine lines enough that they are very barely noticeable.

I even sometimes skip foundation all together because this primer makes my skin look so smooth, even and luminous on its own. It’s truly a must have/holy grail product for me. My foundation/make-up look beautiful on top of this primer and it makes my skin feel very soft, smooth and hydrated.

Definitely worth the purchase.

I received a free sample from Sephora with purchase. The employees at Sephora rave about this primer and well I was thrilled to give this a try. I do not have acne but thought this might be good for those with sensitive skin.

I wore this for 3 days with my normal skincare and makeup routine. This is silicone based primer. I did not think this prolonged my makeup but I will say if your are super oily this might be the primer for you.

This dried my skin out so bad! Initially my skin was super dry And this really emphasized my pores. As the day went on and my oils came out the dryness settled down. My makeup did not look great after a long day And on day 3 I broke out from this primer that is meant for acne control.

Oh well.

I’ve only used it twice but I already know this is my new holy grail. I was struggling with my dry skin, especially right now in the winter. no matter how much I moisturized, my makeup looked dry and cakey, including my undereyes.

when I use this, my makeup looks smooth and flawless and my products blend seamlessly. not only that, but it also made the majority of my makeup hold up all day! 😍.

Not sure what this is made of, but it feels like spreading Elmer’s glue all over your face. It created a barrier between my skin and foundation, I couldn’t get it to blend into my face with a sponge or brush.

I tried this on two different days, the first I had applied niacinamide as part of my skin care and thought that may have caused the issue, but it made no difference. My foundation looks better without this.

As someone with ridiculously dry skin I find this primer to be very hydrating! I like to let it sink into the skin for about 5 minutes before I actually apply my makeup – I find it gives the primer time to do it’s job.

That said, it can feel slightly tacky at first but I don’t mind it, the feeling goes away when makeup is applied. If you’ve enjoyed Milani’s Rose Lotion Primer you’d like this. It’s basically the same minus the strong rose scent.

Good Hydrations is an answer to my prayers! After running out of the Prime Time primer, I went to the BE store and asked about a primer for dry skin. The rep gave me a sample of Good Hydrations and my life changed forever! I’ve suffered from acne and dry skin for (too many) years.

Dermatologists would give me acne medicines that would dry out my skin and make my acne worse. It was so bad that when I DIDN’T wash my face, I had less acne! Finally, I’ve found what my skin has longed for.

I was really excited to try this product after reading all the great reviews. For starters, it has Dimethicone, which is similar to Silicone. Very few primers are silicone and/or dimethicone free. The “Cones” can be know to cause breakouts but I was willing to take a chance and give this product a try.

First few days of use were great! I applied before my Clinique Redness Relief foundation and had a nice smooth surface, however, my skin felt a little greasy. I brushed it off because my skin looked amazing and my foundation stayed nearly all day.

Fast forward two weeks and I started seeing all these little bumps on my cheeks and chin area along with hard blackheads on my forehead and nose. Ugghh. So much for great looking skin! I do think this is a good product, you just need to have the right skin type for it, hence the 3.

I have combination skin (oily and dry at the same time). I hardly use this in the Summer (i use Dr. Brandt pores no more pore refiner primer during hot months). BUT during the dryer month of winter and fall, this is a must in my makeup routine! This will keep your skin look hydrated, SMOOTH AND glowing with makeup.

If you have dry, flaky, uneven skin, this will help the foundation to go on smoothly 😉 Please don’t ever stop making this product. There are many products that performs similarly to this, HOWEVER, this has the most gentle/ natural ingredients.

I have very sensitive skin, so i’m all about natural, and less is more when it comes to ingredients. I’ve searched and searched, so far this product has the best ingredients in the market.

My eyebrows are a source of contention- inner me refers to myself as Nomorebrowski for spite. As I have aged my eyebrows have become thinner, lighter, and moved slightly south. I used to have perfect eyebrows -I never even had to shape them! In hindsight, I should have appreciated them more.

I have tried everything -pencil, gel, pomade, powder not to say they aren’t all great products in their own right, but it is an artistic ability that I do not possess to make any of that look close to natural eyebrows.

So I was both pessimistic and hopeful when I found this product. My mom, a retired beauty professional, helped me do this the first time, as I had no clue what I was doing – turns out this is something I can do myself! It took about 15 minutes total for prep, application, sitting time, and removal.

You mix a powder developer. Getting the mixture off places I didn’t want it was a sinch with a q-tip. I was extremely relieved and pleased with the results. The difference is subtle and natural. It looks like my old brows are back (except for the southern relocation)! I can still enhance them if I want (I am digging powder for that right now) or leave them as-is for a completely natural look.

I am not sure how long they last, yet. I will try to remember to update you on that and how the second application by myself goes. I had no sensitivity issues with this, though I would recommend you read the back about possible allergies allergic reactions.

The only thing that could improve this product would be to include something in the kit to measure what needs to be mixed to ensure a precise mixture ratio and thereby optimum tinting. I will use it again and hope it will be my forever brow care.

I recommend this for a natural-looking brow option. The top photo is after (ignore the broken blood vessel on my eyeball I woke up with[no clue why] and that I had just-out-of-the-shower-unbrushed brows) and the bottom is before.

It brought out those nearly invisible brow hairs that old me now possess.

I normally choose shades like “espresso” but for this I got the color “light” which has a cool undertone because holy cow, it’s DARK. Like espresso dark. I don’t know if it’s a glitch but I’d err on the side of going a shade lighter than you’re used to in this brow tint.

I LOVE the formula and the TINY applicator. I do wipe it off a little before applying the product and always start near the arch, reserving the inner brow for last so there’s less product deposited. This makes doing my brows super quick and easy! The price can’t be beat for the quality and ease of use.

Once dry, it holds my brows in place all day. No smearing or flaking even when I’m sweating in the Midwest heat and humidity. I highly recommend!.

I bought this in the shade Deep and it is perfect for cool black/brown brows. Really tiny spooly so it’s easy to get small hairs and the tail of my brows without getting product elsewhere. I have brows that in some areas are dense, and other areas look non existent (hereditary).

Be warned tho, when first purchased, the spooly comes loaded with product and I got product everywhere. The color lasts all day in sweaty conditions, no fading (especially great for the brow spots where the hair is super thin), and great hold.

Does not make my brow hard or crunchy. The finish is a nice demi-matte that doesn’t look drawn/painted on. Definitely worth trying if they have a suitable shade for you.

This is the second bottle I’ve used. It comes in a great glass bottle with a dropper making it feel pricier than it really is. As a serum it is fabulous. Leaves my skin looking plump and fresh, it doesn’t make me extra oily on my t-zone, I can even use it on its own.

As a makeup primer I found it to work really well. As of late I’ve been putting on my sunscreen (supergoop) and when it’s set I put on the primer serum on top and it causes no problems. After that I put on the elf satin finish foundation and my skin look and feels great.

I hate the feeling of spf, primer, foundation and all of those steps on my skin, it can feel heavy but with this combination I’ve been doing my skin feels great and light. Oh the key to the primer working on top of the spf is to pat it on, do not rub it in because you want to avoid disturbing the spf underneath.

This is by far, the best hydrating primer I’ve tried. Feels so good and refreshing on the skin, even without using a lot of it. Only 1-2 drops is enough for my skin. My face feels hydrated and good all day.

It’s like my skin took a big drink of water with how hydrating it is. It won’t blur pores, but it smooths out my skin and adds tons of hydration. Helps my makeup look and sit better on my naturally dry skin.

Definitely recommend this if you want a primer that will make your skin feel quenched.

Light feel upon application, moderately tacky after dry down, and slightly illuminating. Gave me lots of teeny red bumps on my chin, nose, and forehead within 24 hours, and I’m 43 and very rarely get blemishes anymore; I’m thinking this was a mild reaction and not actual pimples.

Has fragrance. I prefer the pink serum primer from Wet n Wild much more, which costs less, is fine for sensitive skin, and isn’t tacky at all. If I want tacky, I’ll use elf’s Power Grip.

I was recently sent the Smashbox Primerizer+ Hydrating primer by Influenster, this is a makeup primer + a skincare serum combined into one. It has #hyaluronicacid and #niacinamide, you can definitely tell from the texture that this is a niacinamide product.

It has that trademark milky almost tacky consistency that most niacinamide serums possess. Selfie 1 bare skin, selfie 2 primer alone, 3 is primer with foundation, 4 is just foundation with no primer.

It applies like a milky serum and absorbs quickly leaving a very slightly tacky feeling on the skin, but nothing unpleasant. You could definitely wear this on its own without foundation. I personally have dry skin and did not feel quite moisturized enough with this serum on bare skin, I would definitely pair it with a moisturizer in the future.

I loooove that this is fragrance free and only has a few botanical extracts so there is next to no scent. I also thought the inclusion of yeast ferment extracts is a nice touch, I love seeing these included in hydrating formulas.

This primer also played well under my go to foundation, I paired my Estée Lauder Double Wear Sheer and skipped any setting powders. It sets to a beautiful dewy finish that looks natural but still covers any skin tone issues.

My only qualm is the price tag, $40 is a very high price for what is basically your standard niacinamide serum. I’ve also attached a final picture from a day I wore my sheer foundation alone with no primer, and there is practically no difference in the end result.

I received this product from Influenster for free in exchange for my honest opinion. My skin type is oily, sensitive and acne-prone. Smashbox Photo Finish Illuminate Glow Primer is infused with vitamin C, Silkscreen Complex, Vitamin C, + Passion Fruit.

This primer claims it creates a breathable, silky barrier that perfects the canvas by smoothing skin and strengthening it against damage from environmental aggressors like pollution and blue light. Since I am testing a glowy primer, I picked the most matte foundation that I have on hand, Huda #Fauxfilter High Coverage Cream Foundation to test it with.

I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Illuminate Glow Primer only on my left side as shown in the pics. I could see that my left side was more glowy than the right side on bare skin. However, as soon as I applied foundation, the side with the primer started to pill a little.

Right after foundation I could see the side with the primer was a little bit darker than the other side, it could be because of the vitamin C infused in there. And I honestly couldn’t see much of the glow difference between both sides.

I asked my husband to guess which side I had the primer on, and he guessed wrong. He really thought the right side had primer on. I knew I didn’t like the primer right there but I still wore it the whole day to test it out.

After 10 hours of wear, the side with the primer on actually is less oily and kept my foundation on better. My verdict: I would either wear this primer on its own if I want a glowy skin. But don’t use it under foundation because there isn’t a visible difference.

However, it is GREAT at controlling oil and keeps your foundation last longer.

You could definitely wear this on its own without foundation. I personally have dry skin and did not feel quite moisturized enough with this serum on bare skin, I would definitely pair it with a moisturizer in the future.

I loooove that this is fragrance free and only has a few botanical extracts so there is next to no scent. I also thought the inclusion of yeast ferment extracts is a nice touch, I love seeing these included in hydrating formulas.

This primer also played well under my go to foundation, I paired my Estée Lauder Double Wear Sheer and skipped any setting powders. It sets to a beautiful dewy finish that looks natural but still covers any skin tone issues.

My only qualm is the price tag, $40 is a very high price for what is basically your standard niacinamide serum.

I love that the product is made with quality ingredients and that it has no fragrance in it because my skin is highly sensitive to scents and all essential oils. It feels smooth to the touch after the product dries off on your skin, making it easy to apply your makeup.

I do want to note that since the packaging changed from glass bottle to now a plastic squeeze tube, the formula is slightly different as well. It contains all the beloved ingredients, in all the correct order, but it’s missing vitamin C.

The color is a little different as well. The primer was shimmery white; it is now shimmery pale pink. I’m fine with that, but I think the consistency may be a tiny bit thinner than the older formula.

If I had to choose between the two, I’d very much prefer the old formula. However, the new formula worked for my skin; didn’t break me out, smooth application of makeup, and it doesn’t have any smell to it, so I think I’m perfectly fine with this new formula.

Wished it was less expensive for the amount they offer.

So the glycerin is derived from coconuts, which is not something they advertise. I first found this primer years ago after being told by store members that it did not contain coconut. I’ve worn makeup less frequently since the pandemic started and my skin has been great.

I used this primer recently and felt itchy like I do when I use coconut. I then had some break outs. That’s when I confirmed with customer service that this does has a coconut derivative. This needs to be made more clear.

Coconut is comedogenic and thus it clogs pores and can cause breakouts for people with sensitive skin. I’m really disappointed that store members had told me this was coconut free. I must have mentioned my coconut sensitivities at least 5 different times in person.

Under the “Complete List of Ingredients” please list coconut so other people with allergies/sensitivities know and aren’t mislead.

This is a great primer which leaves a lovely smooth surface to apply makeup on. It is silicon based with no fragrance which my skin just loves. It glides on with no effort and dries really quickly so foundation can be applied almost immediately.

It works well with both powder and liquid foundations as well. Only a small amount is needed; about the size of a pea will cover the whole face. The tube lasts for absolutely ages. I am not sure about the lifting and firming effects but the product is equal in quality to other more expensive primers I have tried.

I also love that the price is great and it is cruelty free. Any Tips?: Just use a small amount and blend on to the face well. Ideal For. : Anyone; this does not irritate my skin in the least.

I was really happily surprised with the Innoxa Lift and Firm primer. It was very moisturising on application (great for my dry, flaky skin). It did have a mat finish, perhaps not as much as some of the other primers on the market and it made my skin feel great – honestly, I felt like just going out in the primer (don’t worry, I didn’t).

The best part of all for me perhaps was how long my foundation lasted without even a hit of flaking. I got 12 hours hard wear at a trade show out of my make up. The only visible signs of wear were around my nose at the end of the day.

On top of that – I received a heap of compliments – and my primer was the only thing I changed. I really rate this primer – enough to switch premaritally. But I don’t have a huge problem with pores – mainly just dry flaky skin.

Ideal For. : I think it’s a good all purpose primer – but the feel of it leads me to believe that it’s better on drier skin types, like mine.

While this is targeted for those with aging skin concerns, this would work for anyone as a primer. To me it feels like it’s a cross between a moisturizer and a primer. It smooths out the skin, hydrates it but also has a little bit of tackiness to it that allows the foundation to stay on your face and not slip and slide.

It’s an awesome everyday primer and I love pairing it with lots of different foundations. Any Tips?: Wait a minute or two before applying foundation. Ideal For. : Normal to dry skin types.

This is definitely something that surprised me when I tried it. I have dry skin and of course it is sensitive to harsh (oh shoot, really though let’s just be real – it’s not just harsh it’s every single thing) environments.

My skin definitely doesn’t like makeup if I don’t use primer but I am still very much a newbie with makeup and makeup brushes. I picked up a few of the primers from ELF at Target and Big Lots, and I was very happy with my purchases.

They are equally good as any high end department store type of primer and I have been able to utilize the primers as just a way to make my skin look better without having to wear any concealer or foundation because it helped blur small imperfections on my skin.

I definitely recommend this to ANYONE who uses makeup or is just looking to help with blurring imperfections for day or night use.

I love this primer so much! I will never get another one to use in my face, this primer makes my face clear and soft. It doesn’t give me any pimples or acne. Since, I started using this primer I don’t use any other one because it gives me the support and the coverage I want! I really recommend this primer and I hope you guys love it so as I do!! Most likely you can buy in your nearest Walgreens or either way you can go to Walmart, target or Ulta.

There are so many other products you guys can use with e. l. f. In my personal opinion I really love the primers and I would love to try any other product they have.

Silky smooth This product is great for combination skin, especially in summer. The primer goes on very smoothly (feels like velvet) and I don’t have to use as much foundation as I would without it. It does have an odor but it’s not awful and it doesn’t last.

I use it mostly on my T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and then spread whatever is left to the rest of my face. I do this about 5-10 minutes AFTER I moisturize and it really helps to reduce oil throughout the day.

It doesn’t make me break out and I’m pretty sensitive to breakouts. All in all, this is a great product for a really great price and since it helps reduce the amount of foundation I need to use, it saves me money.

I have tried primers many times over the years and they failed to impress or prove their worth. This Fenty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Primer however is the real deal. My skin changed over the past few years where I experienced dry areas for the first time – I’ve struggled to find the right skincare / makeup combination.

Read the reviews about this primer, took the plunge and will never look back. All day hydration, and makeup lasts all day without touch up. Highly recommend this product.

I wish I would have bought the mattifying version of this instead. My skin is on the extreme side of “combination”…when it’s dry, it can be like super flakey dry. But even then, by the end of the day I will still usually still end up oily on top of the dry, flakey spots.

When I am consistent with my skincare and using an appropriate level of moisturizer for whatever hormonal phase my skin is in-things that are more heavily moisturizing leave me with greasy feeling skin.

I also use the pro filter finishing powder with no issues, so I think the mattifying version of this would be a much better choice for me – as long as my skin isn’t being crazy as it sometimes does lol.

If you have normal or dry skin, I think you’ll love this primer. Especially with the pro filter finishing powder-if you haven’t tried it you should:).

I received the full size of this Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’R Hydrating Primer in my Boxycharm box and I have to say that I am a Primer junkie. I never knew I needed a Foundation Primer until they came out and now my makeup doesn’t go on without one.

I have a RIDICULOUS amount of high end primers and out of all of the expensive brands I have, this one of my favorite. It goes on so smoothly and feels slaying as it sinks into my skin. My foundation stays on longer and absolutely hydrates my skin, as I have combination skin for the most part, except in the winter.

This is a phenomenal Primer.
