Great power supply for the price and the little wattage readout on the side is supper clear and accurate would recommend

If there’s one thing I would say about Corsair it’s that they have great customer service, and they’re really good about replacing products under warranty. I have actually had to take advantage of their warranty several times over the past 15 or so years, and each time they honored the warranty without any hassle.

Corsair does make quality products. I’ve owned at least 4 of their power supplies and each of them are still working, two of them are TX750s that are probably 10 years old now. The other one is actually in the same family as this power supply, the RM1000x, and it has been a great power supply that I have actually lent out on a couple occasions, and everyone had good things to say about it.

I have to rate this power supply 5 Eggs, I have no reason to give it a lower rating. I would just say that the 5 Eggs rating is based heavily on the condition that a 650 watt power supply is appropriate for you, if that’s the case, this is a great choice.

Finished installing this PSU the other night. Had a few issues, but those were all due to the buggy mess on top of the desk chair. MUCH quieter than my old 400W one, the warranty is very long, modularity is a really nice extra I never knew I needed.

Comes with all the cables necessary for my setup. Upgrading from a 1650 to a 2080S in a few days, so will return to this review with reports on how well it works under high load. Do not skimp out on a PSU.

This one works wonders for me. Already recommended to a buddy who was also upgrading his GPU and needed more power. Delivered much faster than expected too.

I did say Near silent. I know total silence is impossible. This is certainly the quietest PSU I have come across. If you are building for studio silence then this is pretty close. The components do have a low-frequency hum with the occasional click/squeal.

I know this happens with most PSUs but just something to be on the lookout for. Most of the day it operates without the fan which is exactly what I was hoping for. Although, it is a cool spring in NY atm.

I wonder how well it will do come August. I measured this (out of the case, desktop idle load) at 1meter it is about 14db C-weighted. Most of which is the low hum. This tracks with the chart provided.

This power supply is well packaged, comes with a bag with all of the modular cables. The ends of the cables are using thick shrinking material and it uses durable (what appears to be) nylon posts. This makes them fairly inflexible which is great when considering them near fans that you don’t want them to shift over time but can be problematic when you have a more form-fitted case.

They also are bulky which blots out the RGB if you are going for a colorful build. This should NOT be used in anything but the roomiest of builds and where you don’t mind these monsters being visible.

Would be great for your tester build/workbench.

I bought a PowerSpec from Microcenter that housed a RTX 3080. The graphics card however was not installed properly (Only 1 power chord was being split). The RTX line requires a minimum of 2 independent power cables.

With that being said I also realized the system was only utilizing a 650 Watt Power supply. With some help from the very informative staff at Microcenter I picked this one up to replace the 650 watt PowerSpec one.

This is a decision I absolutely did not regret. The Corsair runs the 3080 flawlessly. I have not had any power surges or cut off. My system can now fully handle the wattage it needs to. I was setting my own curves on the power output for the old supply and that was hindering performance but now with the Corsair things are running absolutely smoothly.

Could not be happier. Highly recommend to others within similar powered cards and components.

I’m pleased with the products performance and ease of use. The modular nature of the power supply virtually eliminates the “pack the unsused cords in the case” nonsense of non modular PSUs. Very quiet and has nearly any connector you need with the ability to buy more from Corsair.

Good product. But OCD cable wizards may find difficultly wrangling the beefier cords. But the tradeoff is PLENTY of cable to push high power through. Perfect for overclocking.

The installation of this processor is pretty easy to understand like most AMD processors have been in past itterations, line up the slotted corner, the only complaint I would have is the bracket the AM4 platform uses just having a loose bracket even after appropriately installing a cooler is strange although the manual says this should be the case I dont like anything loose when building hardware.

But that’s really just nitpicking. The OS installed beautifully off of a usb flash drive, although I had to re-install wine after initial setup. The hardware was instantly recognized which is nice having an RTX 3060ti I was hesitant it would not recognize the card.

The instant display of 65 gb of ram, all 24 core’s running and their respective loads, the sabrent rocket m. 2’s, as well as the massive cache (not as big as the 5,00 series but good enough for a busy day of gaming).

This beast of a build just handles whatever I have thrown at it so far. I have really only run it in a few games over a few weeks but Neverwinter, Civ’s 5 + 6, Minetest, Dota 2, Boderlands 2 won’t even stress any of the hardware at max settings.

I will have to run VM’s and harder games like hunt: showdown , or wait for cyberpunk to fix the bulldozer software scan thats been slowing down there software, I personally prefer to break the hardware in slower before really putting a hard stress test, although I did bench Civ and placed top 99% for AI calculations and game simulation on max settings.

So what’s the take away from all this? It’s an easy chip to build from, has run linux mint ulyanna 64 bit stable and easily, wine runs fine (after a reinstall), play on steam and play on linux both work fine off the processor, Personally I would watercool the processor, although the wraith cooler seems fine if you are on a budget but if your on a budget chances are you are not looking at these 12 – 16 core processors so I say spend the 100$ and keep it cooler longer (remember heat kills electronics).

When I bought this processor with tax it ran me 450$, that price after I bought it jumped by almost 100$ if that tells you anything you need to know about how good the Ryzen series really is versus intel.

My first personal experience building a computer was off the AM3+ platform and boy what a long way they have come. Cost to performance AMD still paves the way as Intel has become an after thought. I can do it all with this much power, and I can do it affordably.

From graphics rendering to hard gaming I see this platform being used from colleges to hollywood. Unless you get a processor that DOA you will not be disappointed, AMD brought the heat with the 5,000 processors, but if you want to get it done and for a way better price than the 5,000 series can be found at currently or even at all, then get the 3900x it can be found today and at a real price point not some over inflated out of stock price currently had by the 5000 series.

Okay this isn’t the top of the range chip but given the price point the performance is amazing. I think bang for buck it is one of the best chips out there at the moment. I’ve been doing video editing and complex 3D rendering in Blender including high poly models with many modifiers that go through CPU rather than GPU as default and it hasn’t skipped a beat.

For my day to day tasks, bearing in mind I deal with some seriously large data analysis (I. e. 1 million+ lines per tab, hundreds of formulas, 20+ tabs etc all in a local data model meaning the Excel file is over 100mb in size) my previous 8 core i7 @ 3.

6mhz seems like an ancient technology in comparison and there is a noticeable uplift in performance. I’ve been tinkering with virtual machines and have been running two virtual machines on top of my current setup (so effectively 3 machines at once) and again there’s been virtually no performance lag on day to day tasks on the main machine if the virtual machines are limited to 1 or 2 cores each.

So ita versatility for software developers is fantastic. It does kick out a lot of heat though under these sustained loads and the Wraith Prism fan just about copes with it when it isn’t overclocked and I think I have been subjected to some thermal throttling as a result.

For 80% of users I think the Wraith Prism would be more than adequate. But for power users, or those thinking of over clocking, that are going to run as sustained loads the Wraith Prism isn’t the quietest and a suitable upgrade for cooling should be looked into.

Great that, given the right motherboard, the CPU supports the upcoming windows 11 TPM requirements so it’ll stand the test of time too.

This was purchased as an upgrade from a 2700X. Compile times on a large project dropped considerably vs my old CPU, but then I also upgraded from 16GB to 64GB which helped compile more modules in parallel on different threads.

Recording video in OBS studio seems to have improved as well. I record output from multiple programs and combine it into a single video, and it seems to feel smoother. Yeah, you might get a higher frame rate with a 5900X on a top end graphics card running 1080p, but as the graphics card goes down in speed and/or up in resolution this becomes less of an issue.

The 5900X is also more expensive. You’ll have to decide what’s best for you, but my graphics card will probably be the bottle neck for the near future. Overclocking/undervolting software has it benchmarking faster than a 3900XT, so die qualities have probably improved since the release of these CPUs, but it depends on how well you do in the silicon lottery.

Overall a great purchase, and Micro Center had it at a great price.

When I tried to use the supply the very first time the pos. thumb screw fell apart. The brass insert pulled out of the thumb screw. I voided the warranty by removing the cover and installing quality power output jacks.

My first test of the power supply was to hook a automotive head light to it to see if it could handle it and shine brightly. It shut down and would not put out any power. It sees the light as a short circuit and stops the output.

Next I hooked it to a 100 watt ham radio transceiver and loaded it up to 50 watts. (That takes about 10 amps ) It held the load solid for 15 seconds. That is sufficient for ham radio work. Its a nice looking supply and is no doubt able to handle audio and other types of higher resistance loads but its no good for testing auto head lights—–I dont regret buying it because I will be using it for radio work.

I think next time I will buy a tripp lite supply.

The Pyramid PS14KX power supply is just what I need—12 volts at 12 amperes. Actually, 13. 8 volts at 12 amperes. The 13. 8 volts insures the device I am running receives all the power it requires. The power supply features temperature and overload protection— valuable insurance against fire.

A word of caution: the heat sinks located on the back of the unit get very warm (which is normal), so be sure to keep heat sensitive objects away from the back. Also, there are ventilation holes all over the chassis box.

Don’t cover the unit with anything which might block this ventilation, as that could cause overheating, and it could shut down. This unit is more a utility power supply, and does not offer elegance—but it suits my application perfectly.

One more note: There are two power terminals with black and red nuts to attach the power output cord, so you may need to purchase an adapter to connect it to the device you are running. Make sure you get the polarity correct!.

I bought this for a 12V CB in my house. When using the power supply there is a noticeable hum coming from my CB. It’s worse when I transmit. I’ve never had this problem so I’m thinking it’s the power supply.

I went out in my Jeep and talked to my wife over it and I can not hear the hum in the transmissions so I’m going to go ahead and keep it. Not sure I would recommend.

I knew when buying this that its super basic but it gets the job done for a low price. Cable management will be a pain, only 2 8-pin cables, way more molex than anyone needs in modern PC building and not the best efficiency but if you know what youre getting and have a use case for it, this wont disappoint you.

I needed this purely for troubleshooting a friends broken PC, i didnt have a spare PSU around and this one had enough watts that would be sufficient for his build while i confirmed his old PSU had died.

If you are building something you want to be proud of and show off, i would look for something with more modularity and better efficiency. But if you, like me, needed something cheap and readily available for something like troubleshooting/auxillary power/emergency replacement etc, this will do the job just fine.

Size: For the average user, this is an excellent power supply. It’s compact compared to most power supplies, so stuffing extra cabling in behind it will be easy. For cases that have a PCIE power cable slot straight under the GPU, you will easily be able to access it.

Noise: Stay at 2/3 the rating for your total system and you’ll be fine. This is for a midrange build like a 3060 Ti and a 5600X or 11400. Efficiency: You shouldn’t get this if you will have your PC on continuously.

It isn’t 80 plus rated. Unless you need extra heat in the room, go for something 80 plus Gold if you continuously run your PC.

I bought a zotac rtx 3080 trinity oc thinking it’s a power hungry GPU and that I will need 1000 watts psu. Well wrong I did an online watts calculator and with Asus Tuf x570 plus (wifi) motherboard & Ryzen 5 5600X 6 cores and 12 threads and all total was 506 watts.

So don’t listen to websites making you buy a huge PSU, So I have 200 extra watts for adding other hardware in the future dude. Companies pay to recommend their products. Thermaltake simply was the cheapest option for my build without breaking the bank and does the job perfectly fine.

This power supply quiet, Cool and never makes loud sounds.

Psu works fine, fan is really quiet, if you’re worried about noise i guarantee that this fan won’t be the loudest fan in your system. With side panel off and my ear 2cm to the fan its extremely hard to hear over the sound of the cpu fan honestly don’t care that much that it shuts off when not in use because its so quiet when its on anyway.

The cables and the connectors are another story though. Cables are kinda stiff but definitely not something that i wouldnt expect but the connectors are really stiff. If you’ve ever watched pc building videos and seen the psu cables ‘click’ when the connecter is pushed all the way in and the clip engages – yeah that doesn’t happen here.

They are so stiff that im pretty sure half of my connectors are like 1~2 ml off from being flush on the connectors. And its not the female connectors on the psu its the male connectors on the cables themselves – so you’re gonna have this problem every time you plug one in – gpu, motherboard, psu etc.

And god forbid you have to remove them, you’re gonna need 2 flat head screw drivers one of those orange lego seperator tools and a strong faith in Jesus Christ for any chance at success. And no its not me being a fool and not pressing the clip to release the cable – Im honestly surprised no one else has mentioned this so it might have just been my unit.

– Customer service team were excelled from the initial enquiry I made, right through to the part selection process – Assembly was fast, and despite there being an issue with the fans, was resolved quickly.

– Shipping was extremely quick and the build works and looks fantastic. – The team however, used the fans on the CPU cooler to pull air from inside the PC case rather than cold air from the outside. After experiencing some high temps for the CPU, causing fans to run at a higher RPM, I flipped the fans on the radiator around to pull cold air from outside the case.

This significantly reduced running temps. Overall, extremely satisfied with the build, process and team. Would strongly recommend to anyone needing a bit of help on their builds.

The Fan is designed to turn ON only if the PC load is above 15% (~112. 5W). So if your PC load is close to 15% then every time it goes above the 15% mark, the fans will max out for 2 seconds then turn off, as soon as the load goes below 15%.

So if your PC idle load is close to 112W, every time you click a web page, scroll down, or do any action, the CPU clocks up and you surpass the 112. 5W (15%) threshold and the PSU FAN will max out and after a second or two, when the CPU clock goes back down, the PSU fan will stop immediately.

This makes it unbearable as the fan keeps ramping up and turning off in 1-2 second intervals when you are using your PC. This has been rectified in the revised version and I hope they replace the old ones with the new revised version (where they removed the fan stop feature) for those who are affected by this.

Nice pretty unit to promptly hide in the bottom of the case ; ) I would have skimped on the chrome and went for better cables. This said, It’s heavy and seems well built. It has a good warranty. I hope it lasts a few years.

This supply has plenty of current, but the protection circuitry is a bit too zealous and trips way more often than it should. I work on car radios for a living, and none of them consume more than 5 or 6 amps – yet the protection circuits will trip from the momentary surge when turning on a customer’s unit, especially after replacing all electrolytic capacitors.

It’s possible that I could bring up the customer’s unit gradually from zero volts to overcome this, but alas – the supply will only go down to 6 volts which still draws enough current to trip the crowbar circuits.

When the crowbar circuit trips, it’s not as simple as turning the supply off then back on to reset it – the protection LED and beeping continue for about 10 seconds after turning off the supply, making it a real pain in the BUTT to use.

This supply may be good for general use by the layman, but for the technician/business owner who needs to work efficiently and turn a profit like myself, I don’t consider this supply a wise choice by any stretch.

Time is money, and this supply wastes my time. I have three of these supplies and they all act the same, except that one of them started acting even more weird after a few years of moderate to heavy use.

They appear extremely well built and solid, but the performance in no way matches the mechanical build quality. One more issue; the meters do not light up and can be difficult to read. I have recently replaced all my Pyramids with an HP 6268B with much better results.

Of course the HP’s are 3 to 4 times as big and heavy as the Pyramids and cost much more; we do get what we pay for and the Pyramids got me by reasonably well until I could afford industrial quality stuff.

I purchased this power supply to power my new Icom IC-7300 Ham Radio Transceiver. It powers it perfectly on full transmit power. The cooling fan runs all the time and is somewhat loud. I placed the power supply behind a filing cabinet (while leaving room on all sides for air flow for cooling) and that cut down on the fan noise.

1) This is NOT a 20 Amp constant power supply, but it appears to handle the load just fine. My radio is supposed to draw 20 Amps at 65w, but the meter says 12 Amp at this load on TX, so everything seems to be okay.

2) The fan is very loud. VERY loud. Plan on keeping this PS at a good distance so it doesn’t drive you crazy. 3) It appears to come with a light for the meter, but mine does not illuminate. It’s probably in there, but obviously broke in shipping.

All the bubble packaging was popped in the shipping box upon receipt. Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable 20 Amp PS, this will do the trick, but you get what you pay for. I went for the Pyramid brand, because I liked the 5 Amp PS I use with a CB radio in my shack, and it has been very reliable.

Expensive, but unbelievably quiet, I write this review right now and I can hardly hear the PC – I wish I’d bought a good quiet PSU years ago! Brilliant quality, super-quiet to the point of being almost inaudible, and the modular system helps with keep things tidy.

Bought this about 2 months ago for my first PC build and have had no issues with it. It’s very easy to work with, and comes with a nifty little pouch with all the cables you could ask for. The fact that this is fully modular means cable management was really easy, however, my only complaint I could have with this PSU is that the cables can get a bit hard to fully insert into the PSU.

Other than that it’s great. Deepcool are a reputable brand which is always important when purchasing a PSU. Japanese capacitors and 750 Watts means this PSU is decently future-proof and should be able to handle anything an average gamer can throw at it plus ome of the new 40 series cards which are rumoured to use way more power.

The 10-year warranty is the main reason I chose this PSU as I’m probably not going to need to buy a new PSU for the next decade! Awesome buy!.

The 20 / 24 pin motherboard cable is better than others as the 2 parts are securely attached to each other. The other end is in 2 parts and these plug into the 2 right hand sockets on the PSU both labeled ‘motherboard’.

The cables come in a small bag with the Deepcool logo, which is handy if you need them at a later date. The PSU comes in a draw-string bag which might be use for other bits and pieces you have accumulated.

The cables are labled at the component end and blank at the PSU end. I received this an hour ago and have just set it up. I suspected my old PSU was dead and as the Deepcool is working well, that must be the problem.

Comes with a plethora of cables, so ready for any future expansion. Packaging is great – even comes with a little velcro-close bag to keep extra cables in. I like how the logos on each side are inverted, so they appear the right way up in a windowed case no matter which way up you mount the power supply.

Works great with my new RX6800. I do wish that it had PCI power cables without the splitters on – they’re a bit untidy with the splitters hanging off as I needed two separate cables (not one split cable) for my graphics card.

I bought it because of positive reviews from tech sites and I’m mostly happy with it. As a PSU it works very well, it drives two power-hungry graphics cards(and the rest of the system) and it’s been doing good job of it so far.

It’s really quiet under heavy loads and with loads under 300W it’s completely silent as the fan stops(I think I’d prefer for it to stay at low RPM instead of stopping completely but oh well. ). As for reliability I can’t really say anything as I’ve only had it for about a month, but 10 year warranty is reassuring.

The only thing that I didn’t like about it and why I dropped one star from the rating star is the selection of cables included. With this PSU you get three 8pin CPU cables, but only two 2×6+2pin PCIe cables – I found this selection rather strange and disappointing(at least for my intended use).

The cables are round and braided(and somewhat stiff), which I also found a bit strange as my cheaper 650W TXm one has flat cables.

Solid PSU — has received great technical reviews. Box is lacking much in the way of extras. No real manual to speak of (though not needed). No nice cloth cable pouch to hold spare cables which is a bit of a shame at this price.

Main reason for docking a star is that the cables to have in line capacitors. I know this is done for technical/performance reasons, but it does add challenge if trying to set up clean cable runs.

I bought this thinking I needed to replace my 650w unit in my previous build. I had a 750w unit in my previous build and I am therefore a nugget. This however is in fact smashing, fully modular and such, I just wish for the love of all that is holy, that it came with 3 pcie cables instead of two pig tails because then I would sweat less about how I’ve powered my GPU.

I had the 2700x on a 470 motherboard with 64gb of RAM. Had some issues editing 6k videos, now after the upgrade to 3900x I gained 4 more cores, and the system works much better! Editing seems smoother and faster, but it is too early in the process to render a final verdict! Is it worth the money? Probably not if you are just a regular office user, but for graphics on a budget, yet it is!.

this is my second 3900X. I love this unit. excellent price-performance on the market compared to the competition.

I have been running this Ryzen 3900xt on my B550 Aorus Master and couldn’t be more happy. This chip is best you can get for a mix of gaming performance, creative work/ cpu intensive work loads, and best part is better chances at the silicon lottery for maximum overclocking head room.

There are better price to performance chips out there for the average gamer, this cpu is defiantly overkill just gaming and runs pretty hot for an air cooler especially if you plan on overclocking. I would recommend getting a nice 280mm or 360mm AIO if you plan on overclocking at all.

Right now I have the new released Be Quiet 280mm Rad and even then in prime 95 it will hit 95C without a problem even in the Lancool 2 mesh with 3 ML120s at the front, 2 at the bottom and the top is for the 2 pure silent wings fans for the aio running out of the case.

In conclusion, only get this chip if you like to overclock and have a nice cooler to go with it, there are better options out there for price to performance and it all depends on the applications you plan on running.

I do plan on upgrading to the new Zen 3 Chips when they drop but this has been running amazing since and until.

Hands down an awesome product. I just recently built my first PC and this thing is an absolute beast. I went with a Ryzen build after hours of research and comparing with Intel. That being said Intel is a great choice, but this baby is really a bang for your buck.

Not only is an easy install, it just runs so smoothly and the software included is just so easy to navigate. This is perfect if you’re trying to “future proof” and really such a great deal for the price.

I have yet to overclock anything because i simply haven’t needed to. This processor really gets more than the job done. Also, everyone at Microcenter was such a huge help with the extra knowledge and guidance for this product.

Perfect for having several windows, tabs, my stream and even a game up with no issues, WHATSOEVER. If you want to build a high performance PC, this is the processor you want.

There are cheaper 500 watt PSUs but then there are some important compromises. Firstly this one has 2x 6+2 PCIe power connectors so will connect to the most power hungry GPUs. This is a consideration for me.

Secondly this PSU easily powers a high power GPU like an old R9 290 or HD5970 without straining. Not all 500 watt PSUs actually meet their rating. This is probably why the cheaper ones don’t have the full set of PCIe GPU connectors.

It’s to try and stop you using them. If you have to spend £5 on a splitter then you may as well have spent the money on a better PSU. You can probably find a cheaper 500 watt PSU that will do what you need but for what I needed the next one up would have been a 650 watt for a lot more money.

That makes this one very very good value. You can also tell it’s good quality compared to the ones £10 cheaper.

This 500W power supply is a very high quality product for a very reasonable price. Very easily fitted using the supplied screws and it powered up without any problems. I have used similar products from Be Quiet before (fans and power supplies) and as their name implies they are renowned for their very efficient and silent operation.

This product is no exception and the overall build quality is extremely high. All the internal leads are insulated with braiding and bunched logically into 6 branches, so connecting it internally is fairly easy, despite the fact it is not a modular design.

Feels very high quality and quiet. Supplies advertised power and the cables look great too. This was cheaper than the other high-quality power supplies I could find, making it great value.

Das Netzteil ist auf der Oberflche sauber verarbeitet und hat eine gute Passform. Es luft ausgesprochen ruhig, Nebengerusche sind bislang nicht aufgetreten. Die Kabelstrnge sind alle fest und ich bevorzuge das auch, denn ich denke jede Steckverbindung beeinflut das Energieverhalten und das auf die Dauer eher negativ.

Ich habe das NT gekauft wegen super Preis-/Leistungsverhltnis und weil es die angegebene Leistung tatschlich liefert.

TranslateShow in original languageDas Netzteil ist im Betrieb fast so leise wie der Mitbewerber mit dem “sei leise” im Namen. Die Kabellängen sind für einen Midi-Tower ausreichend und können dementsprechend luftstromgünstig verlegt werden.

Alles in Allem ein zuverlässiges Netzteil, dass man empfehlen kann.
