20 Best Portable Bluetooth Speakers For Outdoor Party (2023 Updated)

Needed to get a new speaker for my wife. Great sound was #1, Portability was #2, Long battery life #3. The Anker SoundCore Flare Mini IPX7 fills those with spades! Dont get me wrong, it doesnt sound like my Bose Soundlink Mini, but it also costs no where near that either and I cant throw my Bose in the pool either! No really, you cant go wrong with this one.

Im a HUGE researcher when Im buying something, I can spend days seeing which one was best. So, let me do all the work and just buy this one! My only complaint at all, is I wish they made the controls on the top.

Very impressed with the sound quality of the first pair, so tried out the pairing of two more. Only had them about a month, but so far. A couple of things to report. Sound is still amazing! But, if you think you can link them one to another (daisy-chain) not so much.

All the slaves HAVE to be within range of the master (speaker). This however, is an easy obstacle to over come as the range is above expectations. I can have the master on one end of the house, my cell (broadcaster) on the other end, and a slave outside.

If your looking to string them a 1/4 mile one to another. Not so much. But for a large outdoor event, like a wedding, they would be perfect! Just keep all the slaves within reach of the master speaker.

Again, sound quality is VERY good. But docking them a star for a misleading pic of their pairing system. For me 4 is enough. I have a hard time hunting them down after a night of music.

I’ve had this speaker since 2017 and it’s still working just fine. Charges just fine. It’s really loud and has some bass to it. I love the different colors that light up while your music plays. It’s my favorite speaker.

I’m not sure how many more years it will last but I’ll definitely buy another one. And yes I recommend this speaker to anyone. It also has a rubber texture at the bottom so while it’s blasting loud the speaker doesn’t move, it stays still.

It’s a really really good one.

Let me state for context where I feel the Partybox 710 “fits in” to the JBL product line and speaker offerings in general. It’s essentially a “loud speaker” a specific class that is neither a portable speaker/boom box nor a high fidelity home speaker system.

And while on wheels, a truly portal speaker this is not. First, it’s fairly big (~3 feet/90 cm tall) and heavy (~70 lb/31 kg) and either requires two people to carry or you can roll (sort of) using built-in wheels (more on that at the end).

As a loudspeaker it packs plenty of “punch” (volume) and excels in the bass/low-end. I mean WALL SHAKING. I set it up on my deck outside and at less than half volume, I could feel the bass coming through an insulated outside wall with siding into the room inside.

That said, it lacks on the high end (treble) but I believe that is somewhat by design. Loudspeaker systems are intended to be used for larger venues or outdoors for party events where your high-end treble isn’t as “meaningful” as your mid-range because it travels more uni-directionally (while bass is omni-directional).

The goal is to be loud and to PROJECT sound. With some 800W of power built-in, the 710 can certainly do that although I started to get a bit more distortion above 75% volume (which is still subjectively really loud although I don’t own sound meter to test exact decibels).

And you can always make some sound adjustments using an EQ on your source. The built in light show is fun for parties or shows although serves little purpose if you just want a big’ ol boom box for your large (very large) back yard (and neighbors very far away 😉 ).

The control app has basic functions for light control (color, combination selection, etc. ), nothing programmable which again I’d expect for a semi-pro line. But pick a style of lights and it does a pretty good job of syncing to the beat and you can use the app to switch those selections “live” if you’re doing a little party mixing/DJing.

I didn’t have the ability test the speaker pairing capabilities but I can’t imagine a pair of these things couldn’t handle a large party hall/wedding and in stereo must be amazing. My two minor complaints are that the slot provided at the top for holding onto a device (phone/tablet) is clever but too thin for any of my devices in cases.

A flip-up style support bar may be a potential solution that comes to mind. The other is that the wheels are just barely helpful. The smallest quarter inch bump and you are grinding to a halt (or yanking your arm off) while rolling along.

So forget stairs or even multi-stepped door thresholds. You’re going to find yourself bear hugging and lifting it over just about everything. JBL engineers really need to “road test” this aspect of their designs and incorporate a larger wheel with a bit more clearance (and probably then a locking mechanism to keep the speaker where you place it).

That said, this is the biggest speaker I’ve owned from JBL and I’m impressed with the build quality, amplifier power (yes, it needs to be plugged in), sound quality (for a loudspeaker) and features. And despite it’s size, I’ll likely be lugging it out to my back yard for BBQs and parties because I don’t see myself going back to my Extreme 3 boom box now that I’ve experienced the BOOM (power) of a true loudspeaker.

First off, It’s massive the pictures dont do it justice (see photo for dimensions and weight). I do not reccomend if you live in an apartment or have nearby neighbors because your going to want to turn it up.

Seriously, I’ll start it out soft, listening to some chill tunes and a half hour later I’ll notice I’ve crept up the volume and now my windows are shaking. People love this thing. It sounds cliche but it really is the instant party machine.

Something about the light show, the sheer size of it, and overall ridiculousness just draws people in. So far I have only used it for streaming music, I havent plugged in a mic or guitar but in my opinion those are just bonus features.

This thing is meant for house shaking parties. That being said, with the slot at the top for a tablet, it would be a pretty awesome karaoke machine. Overall the 710 is massive and ridiculous, but ensures an absolute gaurentee of fun at any event.

Pros: Light show is simple or complex as you want it to be with buttons right on the speaker and controls in the app. Bass boost has 2 levels, agian buttons right on the speaker. Can sync up multiple 710s or 310s with the TWS Cons: Has to be plugged in.

JBL still doesnt have an adequate speaker syncing feature on their app to sync multiple generations of speakers (ie no way to play music out of the 710 and my flip 2 at the same time).

For the people complaining about price, a dollar a watt is a deal. As well, several websites offer Klarna and afterpay, so you can buy this and make small monthly payments. For nearly a decade I’ve been hounding my husband to buy me a speaker that makes my chest explode.

He’s tried at least a dozen different JBLs and other brands and none come close to this JBL. I am BEYOND thrilled I bought myself this speaker. Im definitely buying the second one and connecting them, so glad that’s a feature.

The app is awesome to have as well. I built a dance studio on my first floor of my tri-level and this is overkill but I love it, there’s not one thing I can complain about except I wish the power cord was a bit hardier and longer since this is portable.

I already broke the cord after one day. Ooops, completely my fault, I’m really tough on electronics. If anything a good test song on this speaker, “Make it Bun Dem” by Skrillex, really gives the speaker a workout and shows it’s true potential.

Used my party speaker for the first time yesterday (other than a few 10 minute tests) at an outdoor event. I had a laptop hooked up to it using a Line In cable. The sound is great. I had it setup in the shade on an 84 degree day with a nice breeze.

I had charged the unit overnight and was playing it without the power cable. After about 3 – 1/2 hours I noticed there was no music playing. The laptop was still playing but there was no power to the speaker and the power button was non responsive.

Even though I had the volume only up halfway on the unit and the lights turned off I figured it ran out of power, even though it is supposed to play for 14 hours on a charge. I was going to move it near a power plug, but the event was winding down so I packed it up.

Problem is, when I brought it home to plug it in and test it 8 hours later the unit powered on without plugging it in. I’m thinking it may have overheated. Im gonna have to test run it inside after giving it another full charge to see if it can last longer than 3-1/2 hours.

Really nice speaker with nice features. The sound quality is decent, not earth shattering great, but it’s good. I wish you could pair up two wirelessly, however I just tried out the connecting a speaker with the line out and it worked very well and increased the volume significantly.

I am considering buying a second one because the price is right. I just recently used it outdoors for a family cookout and it was nice. Battery lasted with much time to spare and I had it loud most of the time.

The sound is much better plugged in than using battery power guessing to save on the battery. The lights are very nice and the voice changing is a lot of fun.

The philips portable speaker is very nice. The sound is fine. It can get quite loud. The controls – bass, treble, echo are fine. This unit has push buttons for volume control – I’d prefer a rotary knob for volume instead.

Mic and Guitar inputs work fine. The karaoke feature to “fade voice” is cool. However, it reduces the vocal range by about 1/2.

After unboxing this device I was excited because it looked great and the handles allowed easy carrying. After using I was a little let down. I’m not an audiophile but I expected the audio to be much better for it’s price point.

I first tried the audio jacks with my phone and there was static while plugging in and once plugged in my music would only play a few seconds and stop. After switching back to bluetooth, you have to make sure to change the source if you haven’t done so, I felt a little let down.

There seemed to be a faint hissing sound and it was like the system had a regulator on it to prevent good sound quality. I heard more of the artist than the music, I even tried to change the equalizer to produce a different result.

Overall, for the price point it wasn’t worth it to me, I ended up purchasing a tailgater express and it feels worth my money.

I bought this speaker about 3 months ago, and I have to say that it certainly exceeds the expectations that I had for it. I should also mention that I consider myself an audiophile and I have also a high end stereo system that cost around 15 000 dollars back in the day.

Let me review the Partybox 1000 it in terms of importance of its features. First is sound quality, and this is where the speaker really impresses. It is crystal clear sounding from the lowest lows (down to 30 hertz) to crisp mids and to crystal clear highs.

The sound spectrum is across the audible frequencies of human hearing going from 30 Hz to 20 000. I would say that this speaker sounds crystal clear, dynamic and open. So sound wise it is simply the best blue tooth speaker that I have ever heard.

I was at first a bit skeptical when I found out that it has only 1 horn tweeter, but rest assured that this 1 tweeter is more than capable of producing excellent high frequencies. Also the mids, due to its two 7 inch woofers make voices sound incredibly clear, while the lower end (a 12 inch woofer) produces massive amounts of bass, whenever needed.

[The bass can be regulated to 3 different levels: regular bass, bass boost 1 & bass boost 2] Also this speaker gets really loud, a Youtuber did a test and claimed that with bass boost 2 on it reaches 122 decibels and without any bass boost it goes up to 120 decibels per meter.

If that doesn’t tell you anything than imaging being at a Heavy Metal concert in the front row; that is how loud this thing gets. The next important feature for me was the light show which is really extraordinary! The lights on this speaker are truly amazing.

Next I want to mention build quality: this speaker is built in a fairly robust way and feels and looks like it will be quite durable. However, JBL is known for using a lot of plastic on their speakers so don’t expect it to have any wood.

Overall, I would say that the build quality is good enough for such a speaker. This thing also has many connection ports, for example you can hook up a guitar or a mic for doing Karaoke with this speaker.

Also you can connect CD players, a TV or a tablet to it. While the speaker is heavy (34. 7 Kgs) it can be moved around easily due to the wheels on it. Playing this speaker has been a lot of fun and the light show enhances the listening experience.

However, you need to be aware that this is a loud speaker with (if required) a lot of bass performance. I should also mention that the blue tooth connection of this speaker is great; I’ve never had any breaks in connectivity and some have mentioned that the blue tooth connection works up to 50 feet of distance, which is amazing.

Overall, this speaker is definitely worth its price. It is actually amazing just how much sound comes out of just one of these speakers alone. I can only imagine how 2 of these wirelessly connected to each other would sound.

But for me, living in an apartment complex, 2 would probably be overkill, and I believe that for most people having 1 of these is more than enough in terms of performance at home. So are there any shortcomings to this speaker? Well, for one thing it is not battery powered so it needs to be plugged in to an electric outlet to work.

Also it does not have tone controls, however; this is not a problem because all players that can be downloaded on to your smartphone (for free) have in built equalizers on them. So for who is this speaker? I would say that music lovers that want to have great sounding blue tooth speakers should definitely check this speaker out.

This is the biggest JBL blue tooth speaker, so if you think that this one is too big or loud for you JBL also has at least 3 smaller blue tooth Partybox type of speakers that you might find more suitable.

Too make a long story short: if you want great sound, plenty of bass, a fabulous light show and a loud speaker then go for this one, you won’t regret it.

I am a “portable DJ” I like the ease of movement and having a 3 way speaker integrated in one is really helpful. Looks are amazing and pairing two speakers TWS works great (except they have a lot of delay).

DJ pads are more of a gimmick but I sure can take them. Power is good. two speakers can handle my crowd of 100-150 people (maybe 200) persons depending on location. I would not recommend this speaker for personal indoor use, it is too powerful even at low volumes and bass can get tiering.

dj pad sometimes presses itself with vibrations, EQ Still a 5 star as there is nothing like it on the market. Pros: 3 way speaker, bluetooth, powerful yet relatively small, light show like no other, wrist band good looking, great inputs, dj pads, reliable, TWS, powerful, lots of bass, no distortion, ease of use.

Compared to pro speakers volume is not far from a similar priced one REQUEST TO JBL: PLEASE RELEASE A FIRMWARE UPDATE WITH MORE LIGHT PATERNS.

I got this speaker about 7 months ago, and ever since I love listening to it. In terms of sound quality it is excellent; I never thought that a blue tooth speaker could sound this stellar. The sound is crystal clear across the board, regardless whether its the lowest lows (going all the way down to 30 herz), great mid range levels, or stellar highs; it always sound crystal clear, open and dynamic.

The build quality seem to be good as well, my only gripe would be that its over 90% made of plastic, W. H. D. wood would have been better but also more expensive. This speaker also has a fabulous light show; the RGB lights will mesmerize you as they are a treat.

I bought this speaker for listening to music; the other extras that it has don’t really interest me, like the DJ pad on it, although if you are throwing a party that can come in handy with all the special sounds, esp.

the air horn sound. Also I don’t plan to ever hook up an electric guitar or do Karaoke with it. The wristband is a nice addition; you can change the color and pattern of the light show with it. Several people have complained about the wheels on this speaker being to small, but I never had a problem with them; I know that this is due to the fact that I don’t move it over any rugs or the sort; thus, moving it is super easy for me.

It is also super easy to connect via blue tooth. Another thing is that this speaker is crazy loud if you want it to be. 122 decibels on bass boost 2, and 120 on bass boost neutral. That’s like being in the front row of a heavy metal concert.

The one thing that almost made me not buy it was the lack of tone controls or an equalizer on it. But I found out that you don’t really need one, and anyways the app that I use for music playing (Musicolet) has a 5 or 6 band equalizer on it, so it sounds even better than with it.

Overall, you can’t possibly go wrong with this excellent sounding blue tooth speaker. If you have been sitting on the fence about this product, then hop right off it, and go buy it. You will love its sound and light show, and you will definitely be the king of any party with this monster.

I am definitely planning to get a 2nd one so that I can enjoy the ever famous stereo triangle set up and get true stereo separation from these great speakers.

I usually don’t write reviews but for this speaker I will. I bought this speaker having never heard of it before. I was looking for a speaker for outdoor get togethers and had been shopping several higher priced speakers.

I’ve only had it a couple of months but it is a good loud outdoor speaker – easy to transport and easy to use. I’ve only used it plugged in and haven’t tried battery usage – it also came with a microphone that people can use for karaoke.

Bottom line – I’m happy with the purchase &I can’t see anyone being disappointed in this speaker at this price.

For the price this speaker is good, seems well made and its easy to use and very easy to move around now the sound quality isn’t bad but I felt when at high volume the bass didnt hit hard and sounded at times scratchy.

But again for going to the beach or indoor parties this seems to be good for the money but for big backyard parties youll like it more louder. ALL said still a great buy.

This bluetooth speaker lives up to its rating. Very clear and loud. The microphone is an option to play DJ at the party. This speaker will fill a small hall with sound. 150-200 people were entertained.

I bought this JBL PartyBox speaker at JB Hi Fi on sale. Got it for a good price. The speaker is a solid structure. Its a little on the heavy side to lift. All functions work well, like the party coloured lights, mic and guitar imputs.

The speaker has a nice bassy sound, you can click the Bass Boost button to add even more bass. The volume works well and you can turn it up loud. The speaker is splashproof although I havent tested this.

The speaker works well with the JBL phone app. You can change the party light patterns, volume and other features. The speaker works well with Bluetooth. You can even buy another speaker and connect the two to play simultaneously.

I would recommend this speaker if you want a good sounding speaker that is still portable for parties and to use for karaoke and to plug in a guitar.

I have a collection of speakers and it takes a lot for me to say that this Partybox 100 is a new favorite of the bunch. Its unique light show display combined with its impressive sound strength sets it above and beyond in my book – especially for its mid-tier size.

The sound is balanced and provides a deep bass that can be easily increased with a few presses of a button. I was impressed to feel my room vibrating to the bass of this speaker with it turned all the way up.

The sound is a solid 5 considering its size and price. Light Show The light show on this unit is simply awesome. The lights emulate the sound well and it’s a bonus that you can choose from four different light show types.

I’ve enjoyed cycling through the different displays and seeing how each one matches the treble and bass of a song. The only aspect I wish I could change is the ability to turn off the strobe lights. Although they add a certain coolness factor, I just wish I had some control over the two strobe lights at the top and bottom of the speaker.

Mobility At almost 2 feet tall, I was expecting this thing to not only be heavy but also be pretty awkward. It’s surprisingly light and with well-placed handles I can easily move it around with little trouble.

Smaller people may have some trouble with it (I’m 6’1), but overall it’s a great speaker to throw in the trunk on your way to a party. Bluetooth The range of this speaker is solid – I walked all around my house with my phone without any trouble.

It took walking outside and down my driveway to eventually start losing connection. This is important especially regarding its intent as a party speaker – if I bring this to a party I don’t want to be anchored next to it the whole night.

Based on my testing, I won’t be. PartyBox 100’s can only connect with other PartyBox 100’s if you want dual speakers (or more). That’s a problem if you decide to get the next speaker up like the PartyBox 200 or maybe even the 300.

But if you stay in the 100’s and you have a modern smartphone capable of connecting to several devices, you should be good for hooking up to multiple speakers via Bluetooth. Interface/Accessibility Sometimes interface simplicity can be a drawback, but in this case it’s great.

When I get to a party, I want to be able to turn on the speaker, connect, and play. No tuning or small adjustments, just good sound now. That’s exactly what this speaker does. I turn it on, connect, press the bass button twice and everything’s good to go.

If you need to connect via AUX or USB, you just flip open the back and there’s an input for each. It was a bonus to see you can also hook up a microphone for karaoke nights or an electric guitar for the musicians out there.

These components give it more range of use and add some extra value. Battery I’ve played this speaker for 3 hours at full blast with the bass booster on full and it still has half its battery left. That is awesome.

If I kept it on half volume I am confident it could last 10-12 hours which is more than I’d need for just about any party. After 3 hours of playtime at full capacity, I didn’t see any difference in sound or quality from this speaker.

Its sound strength has remained consistent and continues to stay consistent as I use it. Overall I genuinely enjoy this speaker whether I’m at a party or just partying on my own. It’s the speaker’s ability to cover the basics (sound, battery life, Bluetooth range) and provide extra features like its mobility, simplicity, and of course, the light show, that makes it a go-to speaker for me.

It really is super cool and I look forward to using it for years to come.

I bought the Partybox 310 refurbished as I have looked at many reviews recommending this speaker. At the refurbished price it is especially worth the price. The Partybox 310 can power through even some bigger parties, especially when in AC Mode when it ist plugged into the wall.

For Party use, the speakers sound is just awesome. The first, deep bass boost gives you even more deep bass and puts the bass on another level. Personally I wouldn’t use the second bass boost level as it boosts the higher bass frequencies making the bass far too boomy for my liking.

The Mids and Highs are also done very nice. Never overpowering or shouty and especially there is no sibilants noticeable at any loudness. I wouldn’t use the speaker for Studio listening, but regarding this, the speaker was never designed for this use.

Portability is also awesone, thanks to the handle and wheels. They are a little bit on the small side, so flat surfaces are recommended, but over grainier terrain you always have the option to carry the speaker.

So overall a very nice choice for almost every party. If you plan a very, very big event either buy two Partyboxes and use them in their stereo mode or look at full PA equipment.

This is an excellent product. You may not know the name, but this speaker is at least as good as others that I have heard (UEBoom, JBL, etc). Obviously, it’s not going to be as good as a speaker costing £100+: but for the price, it’s got a nice, premium-y feel; the buttons press with a solid clunk and the grille feels like it would survive a day by the pool / on the beach.

But the sound is clearly the main thing: and that’s what impressed me most. One on its own did a good job of filling my bedroom. I can’t say what two would have done (you can pair them as L+R if you choose) but the stereo separation on a single one was impressive; on “Future Love Paradise” by Seal, the moving between the channels was well-defined.

The bass was good (although, again, it’s not going to fill a warehouse rave given the size), but I was most impressed with the middle/high range, which never sounded shrill. Of course, you can play with the equalizer on your device to adapt the sound to how you like it: but for the money, I don’t think you’ll find a more balanced choice.

It comes with a USB-C charging cable, which is good. I fully charged it and have now had it playing for 4 hours on meduim to low volume; according to my iPhone, it still has 80% charge remaining. It’s portable, the battery lasts well, it sounds brilliant: it’s water/dust proof (although I haven’t tested those yet) and it’s under £50.

Did I mention that it’s a steal. ?.

I bought one EarFun UBoom from Addicted to Audio, I liked the sound so much I then bought another. Two UBooms together not only provide more volume with stereo but also extend the bass. I already own a good portable stereo speaker, a much more expensive Sony 100w(rms) unit.

However the Sony is so big it can rarely be placed in the right position for good stereo while the UBooms can sit anywhere, even (for a more intimate sound) directly on the dining table. The Sony, because of its size and power will go a bit louder than the UBooms and because of huge speaker has deeper bass but unfortunately the bass is very boomy and makes the sound less clear than the UBbooms.

The UBooms are powerful enough to fill any room in the house. Also unlike the Sony I don’t have to worry about a 240v extension chord. I doubt if I will ever use the big Sony unit again.

I bought this a few weeks ago after my previous portable speaker stopped working (starting with a B and ending in. ose) which I bought at an expensive ‘phone shop’ in Covent Garden – you know the one! The EarFun UBOOM (what a name!) was simple to set up and connect to my devices.

I use it at home and easily has enough power to fill any of my rooms and beyond. Great value for money and Richer Sounds delivered promptly. Thank you!! I look forward to EarFun’s next products, presumably named the “WUT-WUT” (available in hot pink), and the “TURNEETURRRP” (with optional ear protectors).

I purchased 2 units to connect as a stereo pair. It works but here are the issues. 1. When first picking up the package it feels heavy leading you to believe that there are some strong magnets in the speakers.

After opening, I found that, of the 3lb. boxed weight, the speaker only weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. Disappointing to find out that half of the weight is packaging. 2. I work-out on the athletic field so I brought these.

The Bluetooth is so weak that even 10 feet apart is too far. the Bluetooth would cut out to one of the two speakers if they weren’t almost right next to one another. I ended up stacking the two speakers on top of each other.

Sounded decent but I was really missing that stereo width. Indoors the Bluetooth works ok. occasional drop outs about 25 feet apart. 3. In stereo mode, I turn down the volume all the way from my iPhone and one speaker is always still putting out sound.

I have to go to the speaker and manually turn it down using buttons then turn both speakers up equally using their volume buttons in order to balance the sound between the two. The app does not have individual volume sliders for the speakers when in stereo mode, only in amplify mode which puts mono sound through each speaker (not what I want).

4. No Airplay/Wi-Fi = no whole house. 5. The sound is pretty decent but there’s a boost around the 5 kHz frequency range for crisp, loud sound however I prefer balanced, full sound and theres no equalizer built into the pill plus app.

That means Im stuck using my iPhones EQ presets which I hate because then I have to remember to turn off the EQ if listening to music elsewhere. 6. Due to being out of stock, I purchased one of these two units from target in store.

It was $230. 00 that means collectively I spent $410 before tax on speakers that won’t stay connected outside, don’t have airplay or eq options, and aren’t as robust as they lead you to believe with their heavy packaging.

As an audio enthusiast these leave me wanting.

Depending on the genre, I love this speaker. Some of the nuances of classical and acoustic music are lost in the heavier natural base of the product. Putting this on for a party our gathering inside or outside always delivers.

It has great volume and quality in larger spaces. Big fan of the design and look. Nice tact to grab onto surfaces and never worry about it sliding all over the place on smooth surfaces. I would definitely buy this again or give it as a gift if I was feeling generous!.

I feel that the Beats Pill+ does not get enough recognition for what it is. I know when it first came out it was ridiculously expensive. However if you can get it on sale or even better, open-box, it’s a very very good speaker.

The speaker is heavy but it’s a pro and con. The pro is it doesn’t vibrate when it’s placed on a surface but of course that makes it harder to travel with. It’s not waterproof either and not as rugged compared which kinda sucks for the beach and stuff but if you’re using this around the home or at the park it’s a great speaker.

Sound is I would say up there but not the best. I still prefer the Bose and UE speakers overall for my needs.

I’ve gone through a numerous amount of bluetooth speakers. Although they all functioned well none of them had “that sound” I was looking for. good bass with a well-blended tone. Most of my smaller speakers have a decent bass (for their size) but the tone always sounds echo-y and lacking.

I do have a Sony XB-30 that I’ve had for a few years and it’s still a great speaker, especially for a small to normal sized room. But when you want a little more “umph”, it comes up short. So, after researching and demo’ing the many speakers in Best Buy the sound on this SonyXP-500 just pulled me in! I really wasn’t looking to spend this much but, man, the bass and tone totally compliment one another! The sound is fantastic and has that 1980’s-1990’s component stereo sound.

like music should be heard like! I generally listen to Rush, Tool, Floyd, as well as anything blues and ocassional rock/soul. This speaker does not disappoint!!! I’ve been using it for the last 3 days, tried all volume levels and even prefer to have the “Extra Bass” turned off, as the standard bass sounds just perfect as is.

I will say this speaker is loud. but not as loud as I could get my old component stereo. That said I’ve been listening at about 30-50% volume in my small house and it’s been great! The RGB lighting blinks away, something I have to read in how to turn it off (not my thing!).

***I did get this speaker on sale and I decided to purchase the Best Buy coverage plan, which made the cost a wash with the sale price. I plan to see how this does in my classroom. If it proves too loud then it’s coming back home! Definitely recommend this speaker, especially if you’re ready to accept that the “old stereo days” are fading and you may as well jump on board to the “new ways”!.

When I purchased this speaker, just the size of it was amazing! I charged it up, and carrying it around is very lightweight, while at the same time, having the decibel quality of a subwoofer! I listen to music with bass, and this speaker packs a punch at a peak of 82.

9 decibels on the song with the least amount of bass on the track! This system makes Trunk Muzak come to life, and you can hear it from blocks away! People will know when you show up to the party, quite a few minutes before you even get to the door! Good quality battery life, and the lights that flash from the speaker box really set whatever mood you are trying to get started! All in all, one of the greatest speakers I have EVER purchased in my life, and I recommend this speaker to everyone! Every party I go to, I get asked numerous times about my speaker, and where they can get one.

I bought this speaker, not sure how it would hold up to my expectations, or my phone. I have a brand new S22 Ultra 5G. And it’s Bluetooth is so new as for compatibility, that I had tried two speakers, and neither could even connect to my phone.

Well, third time was a charm. It’s exceeded my hopes, and my friends are all impressed by the sheer presence of it. Karaoke for days, and endless plays! Absolutely love it!.

Purchased this today for the express reason of using my USB music stick, in a woodshop. I chose this unit over others in its price range because of the USB port. I Using the USB port is plug-n-play right out of the box.

I will assume the aux is also, but there is a mode button that cycles through the three modes: Bluetooth, Aux and FM radio. The FM is a total bust as there is no external antenna, and only a ‘scan’ button (no dial).

This type of circuit REQUIRES and decent antenna to work properly, and even out in the “great wide open”, it picks up no signal. Not a deal breaker for me, and perhaps this might work in a city (denser radio wave volume?) The big problems for me are this: the unit does NOT come with a charger, only a cable.

This unit also has a lower amp requirement for the incoming charging voltage than most 5V chargers supply (500 mA vs. typical 2. 5-3 A) meaning the charger must be bought separately, if it is even an option.

The 500 mA is basically what we can consider a “trickle charge, so that’s a big reason why it takes so long to charge. Sure, I could hook it up to my computer and let it charge, but then there’s an extra boat anchor in the way when I’m on the computer! Second complaint: what passes for the electronics and battery are pretty much in the top of the molded plastic body, so it’s a touch top-heavy.

For a economy-priced Bluetooth speaker ($24. 99), I am still underwhelmed. There are certainly competitors who may or may not have the USB stick input, but most certainly have at least TWICE the battery life at the same price point.

And the charging time is less. Oh, and there’s a power supply included! I feel like the wasted space in the unit could hold a larger battery- I mean, doubling the play time would at least get one almost through a work day! Or maybe, perhaps include a charger? How about the minor components it would take to speed up the recharging time? Heaven forbid you include all three, right? With the technology available today, in the footprint it occupied, there is more than ample room to include a larger battery and a faster recharging circuit.

This unit feels like the bare minimum, like the portable radios that used to have only one earpiece to listen to, but at least had a radio dial. So, not a terrible product, it only serves absolute basic needs, so keep this is mind when purchasing.

In conclusion: nice usb feature, long charge time (3. 5 hours), no charger included, relatively short play time (3. 5 hours).

I was given this speaker as a gift for Christmas and I it doesn’t work. After reading the instructions I thought it may have needed charging so I plugged it into my computer with the cord that came in the box and let it sit.

Six hours later I tried to turn it on and still nothing. No lights, no music, no clicking, no beeps. nothing. I have tried everything to get it to work. Charged through my computer, through a wall charger, in my car and still nothing.

I thought it might have been the cord it came with so I tried other chargers and yet again. nothing. I called Customer service and was told without proof of purchase basically there was nothing they could do.

I am very disappointed with my speaker and am unable to return it as I wasn’t given a gift receipt and am not sure where it came from. Although I assumed Walmart so I called and they refused to take it back without the packaging.

(Barcode needed for proof it is Walmart merch). This whole experience has been a TOTAL BUMMER!!!!.

I purchased this at a Family Dollar store at a much lower price. Didn’t expected much for its purpose. Wow, was I mistaken. The volume is fantastic for the small space it’s being used in. Also, it was easy to pair to my device (if this Granny can do it, anyone can).

The voice prompts – very helpful. LED lites, very colorful. Luv that it has a built in rechargeable battery too. Oh, and its very light weight.

Original bought this for outdoor movies to hook up with a projector, but found so many other uses for it. I purchased this in Oct 2020 and only had to charge it once, until now. Tried charging it for a second time, even overnight, but no luck.

Customer support is polite and the guy I spoke to did the most he could do within his power, but they went through the same troubleshooting steps that are on the website. They told me I could buy a 60 dollar adapter to see if that would fix it and if that didn’t work a 35% discount on a $500 speaker.

I’m mad at the corporation not customer service, this seems to be a common problem. I was hoping to get at least 10 years out of this speaker, not 4 months past the 1 year warranty. Will look elsewhere when choosing another speaker.

I think these sound very good when you have two to use with the JBL app on a phone in stereo mode. especially with a limiter/compressor setup like radio stations use on a computer. to encode your tunes to MP3 format to use with these speakers via your phone.

Note though, in Party mode you do not get the stereo effect, just only with two of the same speakers. Overall these are well designed and the sound quality is good especially if you soup up the recordings’ audio before you put them on your phone.

Only JBL Flip 4, JBL Charge 3 or 4, or Xtreme 2 or Boombox 1 (not the new Boombox 2) will connect to each other in Party mode or Stereo mode. The newest generation JBL speakers are not compatible with JBL Connect+ models as the newest ones use PartyBoost.

It is incompatible with the previous gen JBL speakers. These are waterproof to boot, but if you use them on the beach or near chlorine, be sure to rinse with tap water to keep the speaker in good shape, otherwise it will wear out the speaker surrounds and boombox seals and gaskets!.

I really like this product, I just believed that for the price it would have a better quality of sound than my PartyBox 100, it does not. I purchase it for better portability. I was going to give the PartyBox 100 away, but I think I’ll keep it because it better sound quality and much more features.

This is a great sound product and may have great battery life, but for the price tag. I believe there should be a little more bang for my bucks on the one. With that said, great sound, easy to carry about (the ladies my find it a bit heavy) and very good battery life.

I will keep this one.

I’ve been buying all these bluetooth speakers for cheapness because I’m constantly broke but I’ve had no success with them cause I need one that can get really loud to use at work and none of them got loud enough.

This one I finally bit the bullet and spent the extra money to buy it and I was overly surprised and satisfied with it. It has amazing sound and gets really loud. It weighs nothing and is easy to carry around.

It also has a radio feature for fm radio stations, which is awesome. The only downfall of this speaker is it only has a 3 hour play time. I opened it up and it only has one tiny rechargable battery on the inside which is garbage considering how big the cabinet is it could easily fit a bigger better battery.

So I am going to buy a aftermarket battery to add to it. Other then the weak battery that’s in it, this thing is amazing and I would encourage people to buy it. It’s definitely the best bluetooth speaker I’ve seen used or heard that I and friends and family have.

a. microphone, or even just hook it up to your phone, its as easy as 1 2 3! I am a music lover. I usually like my music loud. This speaker has everything needed to enjoy your favorite music and also listen to your movies as you watch if you have a smart TV.

It has endless possibilities of use in my life and I’m so glad I purchased it. I think the price was a little low if you want to compare it to other speakers of the same price. This far exceeds any btspeaker I bought at the same value.

Bought one last year. The plug in on top is not easy. After 8mths the small metal plug in piece fell into the device. I could longer charge it. I bought another one today. Plu still small and difficult area to push it in.

Worried same thing will eventually happen. I took the old one apart. Tha saudering came loose from all the pushing in the plug at an awkward angle.

In a nutshell this is by far the best speaker for the money. The features are incredible, the sound clear, crisp highs, warm mids and solid bass and a whopping 107db that’s right a 107db with a 20hr battery to keep the fun going and able to charge whatever needs charging with or without a cable yep wireless charging.

I can guarantee you that you will not find another portable party speaker with these features and sound quality for under $250!! Best money I’ve ever spent on a sound system. If you were alive in the 90’s and remember the incredible quality of car audio companies like PPI/Soundstream / JL Audio/ MB Quart well that’s the level of quality you’re getting in this party speaker.

I’ll get the obvious out of the way, this Rave+ is in inferior to the JBL Partybox 100 for sound quality and bass output. The + version of the Rave adds the custom EQ option that the original Rave lacked.

This sounds good, but the way it is applied isn’t done well at all. Using a custom EQ you lose bass impact you get from the default Signature mode. No matter what you do on the custom EQ, even moving the lowest frequency on the EQ to max, you still lose bass on custom EQ.

It pretty much ruins the whole custom EQ mode completely for my use. I don’t want to sacrifice bass output. Best to just use a 3rd party EQ and leave the speaker on the default Soundcore Signature setting.

Back to the JBL Partybox 100. The Rave+ as it is is a fair speaker. When you compare it to the JBL Partybox 100, as I have, the difference in sound quality and bass output is rather large. The Partybox 100 is far superior in sound, with a more complete sound from top to bottom.

Better clarity, definition and bass. oh the bass. The Partybox 100 is a real powerhouse when it comes to bass output, far more impressive than what the Rave+ can offer. And the PB100 has 3 levels of bass to suit your taste.

The areas I will give the Rave+ the advantage on is water rating and battery life. Rave+ has longer battery life than Partybox 100 and Rave + has IPX5 water rating, meanin git can get wet, just not submerged in water.

The Partybox 100 has no water rating at all.

For the money the product is great but being a 12in woofer is very light and need to have more durability. You would think a 12in would have more power and sound. I would still recommend this product because of the warranty if it breaks I will be taken back in a heart beat.

The sound quality is amazing and the setup was a breeze. I recommend this Bluetooth speaker.
