20 Best Portable Air Conditioner For Tent Camping (2023 Updated)

The space is insulated and sound proofed tier 4 (right below professional grade studio) I opted for this for Alexa but to be honest Alexa has failed me enough to entertain other smart home system ($2k in to the smart home integration this experience has tarnished my confidence with Amazon devices) otherwise very basic port ac.

It does produce a lot of water which suggest a solid condenser and dehumidifier. Perhaps the way this unit vents it’s conditioned air is why it fails. Exhaust tubing should be insulated for best results.

I now use this in the small office and performs as expected.

The item was delivered on time and everything was included in the package. It does what it says but be warned, it is very noisy, even on the low fan speed. The only other quibbles are: 1) the android app.

It’s very basic. 2) It states you can use Alexa to control the device, but as far as I have been able to determine, only to switch it on and off. If you ask Alexa to change the mode (cool/dry/fan only) or the target temperature she replies that it is not supported.

Hopefully they will sort this out soon. The one star for Noise Level means that it is too high, by the way.

It’s kind of aggravating to do a lot of research before purchasing something only to have it not meet your needs. So I hope this might save some folks some grief. First of all, this unit might work well only for window openings that are 26.

5 inches or 36. 5 to about 50 inches. If you have a 30 inch window opening like I do, you have to jerry rig it to have the window sealing plate stay put (LOTS of duct tape) and block the rest of the window opening.

And they say that the window sealing plate is adjustable, but for this model, there is no strong locking mechanism to keep the two pieces connected without sliding around. Second, it is LOUD. The specs say that it should be 55-57 decibels depending if it’s on low or high, but there’s no way it’s less than 75-80 decibels.

For reference, 60 decibels is “normal conversation” (i. e. , people standing/sitting a meter apart), a typical dishwasher is 75 decibels, and a hairdryer is 80 decibels. With this turned on low, I cannot hear my child calling from their room across the hall with both bedroom doors closed.

I saw something saying that if it’s super-loud, it’s because it’s not level. Well, the floors in our old house slant a little, but not THAT much. And there’s no built-in leveling in the unit. Finally, we’re using this on a floor of our house that doesn’t have a bathroom or sink, and it looks like if you want to use it on “dry” mode, you’ll need to periodically be draining the water tank, which can only be done by opening a plug at the bottom of the unit.

I hope by just running it in A/C cooling mode that we won’t have to deal with draining the tank. At almost 50 pounds, I don’t want to be lugging this thing up and down the stairs on the regular. The display is always on if the unit is plugged in is pretty bright.

And every time you turn it on, off, or change a setting, it makes an electric chime of some sort. Not the best thing if you have light sleepers. The user manual is not super-descriptive. On the positive side, the unit DOES get the room cold.

I haven’t seen our electric bill since starting to use it to see how much it is costing us to run.

I was really expecting for this to be great and unfortunately it didn’t cut it. First it’s much smaller than pictured. I was surprised when I opened it and was skeptical about its ability to actually cool my living room.

I had the exhaust hose hooked up by a professional to make sure the unit was set up correctly however this thing only cooled me / the air directly in front of it. Did not cool my room which is within the square footage.

For what this costs it should at least cool more than the immediate space in front of it. Not sure exactly what to do now as at my wits end and we are in the middle of a heat wave in LA.

Works really well! I have a nearly 150sq ft room and it chills it down in minutes! Would recommend.

Very easy to set up, I didn’t even need the manual. You have to open a plug at the bottom of the unit and drain about 8 ounces of water each day on excessively hot high usage days, or it may stop working unexpectedly.

(The bottom tray filling up triggers a shutdown and alarm. ) The unit is heavy but has wheels on the bottom so it’s easy to push around but not pick up. If your floor isn’t harmed by water, I’ve found that the easiest drainage method is to drain about 4 ounces twice a day onto a towel on the floor, rather than picking the thing up to drain into a bucket or sink or whatever.

Turn it off and unplug it before draining. I set the temperature to 78 degrees on very hot days (95 to 105 or so) and it keeps the room at 78 to 80. The box says 9,000 BTUs which is equivalent cooling power to a 5,300 BTU window air conditioner.

The spec sheet on the Ace Hardware page says it’s 760 watts, which is great if you have an old electrical system that can’t handle high wattage appliances. Air conditioners used to mostly run around 1,500 watts.

AIr conditioner manufacturers seem to be going in the same direction as refrigerator manufacturers and building units that use less power. Changing from cooling mode to fan mode and changing the fan speed takes some getting used to.

It also has this “continuous fan” option which I thought was the default for air conditioners, but if you don’t turn on the continuous fan mode, the unit will completely shut off when the room cools to the desired temperature, then turn on again when it gets hotter.

I bought this because I needed a backup for the upstairs (my mini splits failed this year, and it took several weeks to get the whole system replaced). I already had a different brand’s portable AC downstairs but needed something in the bedroom to get me through until I could get the new splits installed.

I was not able to carry this upstairs on my own. I’m not very strong, and definitely needed assistance. If you are strong, you may be able to do it yourself. This is a beautiful looking portable air conditioner.

When I opened the package, I thought the window vent was SO smart! Then my bubble was burst when I tried to fit the kit into my window!! There’s a slide that you can adjust in the groove. However. There needs to be some consideration of window size.

I have a pretty standard size window (about 28-30″ wide), and this was still WAY too large. The vent hole was obstructed when I tried to place it in the window. I ended up using the piece with the hole in it to fit the vent, and then I had to stuff the gap with towels to hold it in place.

There should be a smaller piece and a larger piece (or some other design modification) to accommodate what is a pretty common window size. It was not very attractive with the towels. I am very disappointed in this, because it seems like a pretty basic design flaw that should not be.

The hose and vent attached pretty easily. It was slightly awkward because I don’t have a lot of room on that side of the bedroom, and the hose needed a little bit of work to get it into position. It would have been much easier if I had been able to give it some more slack, but the space was tight.

Once the vent was stuffed into the window with the towels, and the hose was positioned, this was pretty much a matter of plugging it in and hitting the power button. The AC works well. There are a variety of options to meet different preferences/ situations.

The unit is pretty loud for a bedroom. The portable unit I have downstairs is also loud, but I am not trying to sleep while it’s making all that noise LOL!! I notice the noise of this unit more because it is in the bedroom.

That being said. I will choose towels stuffed in a window and some noise rather than deal with heat and humidity while I’m trying to sleep ANY day of the week!.

Purchased this air conditioner/heater brand new after my factory refurbished Hisense portable AC fried its control board after a month. I was hoping to get an air conditioner that would last me a few years before failing.

Unfortunately, though the packaging arrived in pristine condition, when I opened the box there was oily refrigerant all over the outside of the unit. I nevertheless unboxed it and completed the installation.

I tested it twice, in hour long increments, and it failed to cool the room a single degree even though it was only about 80 degrees. Walmart has a great return policy, of course, and I was able to easily return it for a refund.

But I am a little disappointed that the quality control was so bad: I mean there was oily refrigerant everywhere, it did not appear to be a slow leak! I just hope that it gets factory refurbished and doesn’t end up as more brand-new junk in a landfill!.

I live in a Victorian mid-terrace with a high ceiling double bedroom that faces the sun all day. The size of my bedroom is the maximum size recommended for this 7000BTU machine. Even though I have a casement window, not a sash, I made a simple window cover out of white foam board from a popular craft store with a hole cut in it to vent the air correctly out the window.

Shut the bedroom door and it is bliss! Yes it is noisy. Someone said in another review somewhere it is no more noisy than a fan. This is incorrect and I have no idea what kind of fan this person must have! It is noisy when you are in the room with it and depending on where you live, the motor vibration passing through the floor and the air venting out the window might bother the neighbours (if you care about that sort of thing).

I would not be able to run it all night because of this. But if the room you have it in is not next to your neighbours bedrooms you could run it all night if you needed to. It never got the room down to 16 degrees, but the air coming out of it was ice cold and it reduced the heat in the room from high 20’s to 18 degrees.

My pug who feels the heat very badly lay straight in front of the air vents and was a very happy dog during the last heat wave.

I bought the HomCom portable air conditioner to replace an old unit I’ve had for 10 years which was no longer working very well. The HomCom unit was a breath of fresh air literally. It was very easy to install, comes with a window kit also which some units didn’t come with.

It’s low noise level is good and with a sleep timer and remote control you can’t ask for more. It’s kept my bedroom lovely and cool. I’ve bought another one and two friends have also bought one each.

Highly recommended.

Took the bedroom from 31c to <25c in a few hours with the hose just chucked out the window. Blows out nice cool air. Was great to have in the heatwave. The fan noise isn't too bad but the compressor is too noisy to have a work call or sleep next to.

But I did sit by it for a few hours to keep cool and with headphones on it was fine. It’s not too big and looks better than most other units, its easy to push around on the wheels, but is too heavy to lift into the loft for storage.

Note I paid around 180 for the 8000BTU unit which is pretty good value.

Great size for a bedroom, cools well and quickly, has a continuous fan setting and you can turn the lights off at night. The window kit is a thick plastic unlike some brands but the hose clicks in and there are tiny gaps.

My main problem is that the compressor turning on and off, is a loud thump, woke me out of a deep sleep and easily wakes me out of light sleep. If I’m awake it startles me. It’s super annoying and disruptive.

We have 700+ sq ft apt and this works well. It’s setup in the living room blowing towards the 2 bdrs down the hall. I keep the bathroom & 1 bdr door mostly shut so the living room and my office/mancave stay cooler.

I have a fan outside my room door to direct/boost the cool air in and it really helps. We had to use the LR slider to exhaust through. I bought foam to block the ~60% opening above the window attachment cover.

Also had to place towels in the slider gap between the 2 glass windows as the exhaust creates a pressure gradient and much warm air was being sucked through. Overall, the air flowing back in is very low.

I double wrapped the exhaust tube with towels to insulate and can barely feel warmth. 1 towel still allows much heat to radiate through. The vent below the exhaust tube exit is the air that blows over the hot compressed coolant tubings so you want as little warm air being sucked back in to maximize efficiency.

The air coming out is quite cool. We live upstairs and the sun really warms up our unit, but this a/c keeps us comfortable. I’m glad we didn’t get an 8000 btu. If you use this in a closed room I’m sure you’ll be quite impressed.

I give this review a 3 stars. It is my honest opinion that I will write. The A/C cools my room down EASILY. No complaint there. The remote was a bit difficult to navigate at first but eventually I got it.

The reason I gave a 3 stars is there is NO way to close the vent. It is always open. This is an easy invite to spiders and bugs when not in use. Unless you manually use the vent cap and put it on and take it off.

For that reason alone I give this A/C a 3. It would of gotten a perfect five otherwise. Thank you.

Easy to setup right out of the box! One unit that I had placed in the kitchen had a really heavy condensation issue but that was due to the excessive heat within the kitchen. After pricing several brands this GE unit was the best choice because of the heater function.

It’s an absolute rip off and when you write something on their Instagram page they don’t like, they delete it. It barely cools a few degrees cooler than the outside temperature of my small car I’m running it in.

I have it inches from my face and my battery operated fan cools me down considerably more. The battery works for about 3 hours and takes 6-7 to charge back up. The only thing more disappointing than the performance of the unit is the way the Company handles criticism.

When you take the plug out water pores out on my carpet before I could get the drainage hose connected to the. Because the plug is too close to the floor any drainage pan must run up hill. I had to cut the drainage hose to about six inches and tilt the unit and drainage pan to get it to drain all that didn’t pour out on my carpet with having to pull the plug before I could connect the drainage hose connected.

It did turn off when the tank became full as it said, however, there was water under the unit, so I am not sure it didn’t leak on my carpet besides what pored out trying to connect the hose. I have left the short hose connected, trying continuous draining.

But the hose still runs uphill some because of the height of the drainage pan. If the continuous draining slightly up hill doesn’t work, then I will have to try something else as it completely shuts down as stated when the tank is full.

What a wonderful machine to have such a poor engineering flaw!.

purchased the whytner arc 14000 , i use it from june to september. It worked fantastic for two years and then started spitting water out of the bottom of it and it doesn’t function anymore. All that money on a better unit and it’s still disappointing me by not working past a short time limit.

I babied that machine. Took care of it so that it would last. Very disappointed. Hope your machine does better than mine.

I love my De’Longhi Arctic Whisper Portable Air Conditioner. The unit was super easy to unpack and setup. An expensive professional installation isn’t needed. The Arctic Whisper has been a life saver during these hot and sweltering summer months, because not every room in my household has air conditioning.

I might have been the perfect customer to send this review item to. As unusual as it sounds I have a full rack of IT gear in my closet that during the pandemic I amassed during the pandemic to test out for my company and use for demo gear.

Lets just say, it gets warm in that closet. No airflow in and the only way I get airflow out is to keep that door open. It looks bad and its loud. However when this arrived I was in love. Its the perfect size, and puts out the perfect amount of icy cold air to make my gear closet very happy! Installation was super easy! I have a drop ceiling so venting the air out was not going to be a problem.

I will say that the ONE challenge I had with this was the length of the exhaust output pipe included. It was just a 9in short of what I needed it for my purposes. Yes I realize this is outside the norm, but it gave me an excellent reason to call support and see what that was like.

I dialed the number included in the packaging and 2 rings later I was speaking to a human being that routed my call for me. With no wait time I was talking to a lady that sounded like she might have engineered this equipment herself! Fantastic! That is so rare these days! Good on you De’Longhi! She competently explained the what, why and how and then not only recommended some options, explained the pros/cons of the options.

It was like if Chick-Fil-A decided to run Customer Support for AC units. What a great experience. A couple clicks on Amazon and less than 24hrs later I had the correct size and length exhaust hose mounted and ready to go with the rest of the included and easy to use exhaust kit.

(For the record I tried getting help at Home Depot and Lowes, and 2 local HVAC Suppliers and got no where. I should have just picked up the phone first) I think if I had not had these unusual requirements the hardest part of this entire thing would have been taking it out of the box.

It weighs quite a bit. Anyway its been a week and with the unit set on Auto it has kept my gear at a comfortable 68 degrees and happy. It even comes with a handy remote and batteries just in case you need it.

Beyond that I cant say enough good stuff so far. The only negative would be that the cord that you plug into the wall could be a little longer, maybe a couple feet or so. Other than that this portable AC unit is excellent!.

I am very happy with this air conditioner. It cools my room quickly and keeps it cool all day. It looks nice and is easy to move. There are no pans of water to empty and the filters are easy to assess and clean if needed.

I gave it 4 stars on noise level because even on the “quiet mode” you know it’s running. however I am able to sleep and watch TV. None of these portable units are REALLY quiet but this one does a pretty good job of minimizing the noise.

The control panel is straightforward and easy to master. There are only a few settings and those are all easily accessed with a few touches to the screen. The settings available allow you to use the unit in fan only mode, AC only mode, Dehumidify mode and DeLonghi’s own Real Feel mode, which combines AC and dehumidification to achieve a preset “optimal” temperature.

In a moderate sized room with this option set the unit does a great job keeping us comfortable! Although the unit is portable, it is not easy to move. The casters are small, so moving the unit can be difficult.

The unit is moderately sized, but very heavy and the side lifting handles are very small – making it hard to lift up steps. The appearance is generally nice but the exhaust hose is biggish.

This portable AC unit works quite well, but I had a problem with some of the parts they included with the unit. First, the good: the AC unit works very well and effectively saved me during a brutal heatwave.

Once it’s set up, it’s very easy to use. The settings and usability of the unit are straightforward and easy to figure out. The included remote control also works well. Second, the bad: This is a portable floor unit and comes with a hose that attaches to the back of the unit and then is supposed to attach to a piece of plastic that you place in your window between the window frame and the window itself.

I had some real trouble attaching the hose to the cheap plastic, to the point where I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to hook it up at all. The opening that the hose is intended to latch onto has notches in the sides where the hose should slide in and lock down.

but the notches are too large and the hose just falls out! Then I noticed a couple of small punched out holes where screws could be installed, but realized that I was only given a single screw. Not that it matters, mind you, because it doesn’t even work the way you might think it does, because the only place for that screw is to thread it through the hole on the hose, but the plastic piece in the window doesn’t have any holes for it to thread through, so it can’t actually screw together.

I had to screw it until it was snug against the plastic piece and just hope and pray that it would hold, and thankfully it’s holding, but it just feels like these parts were not designed to all go together in the first place, as if the window piece was pulled from a different product.

It’s a little crazy that the cheapest part in the whole box happens to be a very important part that was designed as an afterthought. And don’t get me started on the included directions, because when it comes to installation, they were completely useless.

Does it work well? Once it’s set up, yes, it does. Was the setup easy and did it feel like it was thoughtfully designed? Not at all. I would recommend this product but it definitely has an annoying caveat.

Moved into an apartment that doesn’t allow window units because my bedroom window is a street-facing window. Found this portable unit at a store nearby, and got a friend to help me get it. Installed, only to find out that the lowest setting is 64 degrees, and it strictly self-regulates, by which I mean the compressor turns off when it appears to have reached the “desired” temperature.

(My desired temperature would probably be between 60 and 62. ) The mode, “Continuous Fan,” does run a continuous fan, but you can clearly tell when the compressor comes on or turns off. Two reasons I like personal air conditioners are 1.

white noise (I have misophonia, and a constant white noise is greatly preferred to the intermittent noise of the compressor) and 2. cool temperature. I realize 64 degrees is reasonable for many people, but it’s still too warm for me.

And since the white noise is not consistent, it’s somewhat annoying. I’m not gonna return it since it’s such a cumbersome unit to unbox, and it is at least serving *some* purpose. But I hope my review can warn others looking for a white noise and cold-making machine.

I wish the product page had described the unit’s staunch adherence to temperature and its inability to just constantly run. Could have found a different $600ish unit. (This unit is probably fine for *most* people though.

).

Unit performs okay, but has a major flaw in my opinion. Something that is really bothersome is that the unit will shut the fan off within a minute of reaching its set point. This allows the room temp to exceed the delta that the unit is trying to stay within.

For example, I set the set point to 74, and it ends up reaching 78-80* before kicking back on again. Air isn’t being circulated, so it’s not passing through the temp sensor in the unit to tell it when it needs to switch back on.

I reached out to support when I first got it, explaining the situation and I was told I need to put a box fan in the room to help circulate when the ac switches off its fan. Lol. I’m imagining this is some form of energy saving programmed into the unit, but dear god is it a nuisance and quite frankly poorly designed.

Not to mention the fan motor probably doesn’t use more than 150w on high so it’s really not doing a whole lot of energy savings, considering the unit is exceeding your set point which then has to work harder to get the temp down.

Anyways, not the best air conditioner I’ve used but it does okay. Other than that, pretty noisy compressor, coil fins were bent on arrival but hey. Still works! I won’t be buying another GE.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis Frigidaire three in one portable air conditioner is one of the best I have put to use in my home yet. I traditionally buy window units when they go bad every few years, this is a welcome replacement.

The biggest advantage to using this portable setup is I can leave the screen in the windows, so NO BUGS!! My wife and I have 4 daughters and they are wimps when it comes to bugs, oh, who am I kidding, so is my wife.

This setup keeps all those critters outside and keeps your area cooler due to having less issues with leaking as well due to this design. The 3 in one setup is great especially with the “Dehumidifying Dry Mode”, this is a HUGE plus living in a high humidity area.

The Dry Mode feature helps with making the room more comfortable by removing the excess humidity in the air when cooling so you do not have that heavy air and moisture that makes you sweat when the heat rises on super hot days.

The Ion Air Purifier is a great addition as well with our actual purifier, I have noticed our expensive purifier actually runs less now showing the air conditioner is actually working. The is also an air filter that is for collecting dust to help keep the unit cleaner for many more years of service and your home as well.

The air filter is washable, this is a plus, no ongoing maintenance costs which is a huge positive for all consumers. \ The included remote works great but the Alexa and Google Assistant are 10 times better in my opinion.

I was able to setup schedules with my Google Assistant to turn it on 30 minutes before I get home so I can walk into a cool living room to take a 10 minute break after a hot shop all day. I can also tell it when I want it turned off and it takes care of it, this is one more step of home automation right here.

The power of this unit is rated at 12k BTU with a 550 sq ft space of cooling power. My downstairs living room, dining room and kitchen are 727 sq ft and it keeps it all cooled at 75 degrees on a 90 degree day without issue, so the rating is well under what it can actually do and that is with 9 ft ceilings.

Also, all this cooling power with the sound of a hair dryer next door, it is very quiet compared to a window unit, no issues with sleeping, napping or watching TV with this unit. Frigidaire knocked it out of the park with this unit, I cannot speak about how long it will last but I am very pleased so far.

IšverstiShow in original language100°F is the new normal here in Central Texas and my home office will get 6-8° hotter than the rest of the house because of all the computer equipment that I use throughout my workday and then gaming afterwards.

I wanted a portable A/C because my HOA does not allow window units to be installed. The Frigidaire 3-in-1 works well. It can bring down the office to be in line with the rest of the house in just a few hours.

My house is newer and has the HVAC system configured so that each room is linked to the other, meaning I can never seal my office off so I can’t get it below the house temperature. Once the portable unit “equalizes” the temperature with the house it’ll stay there.

However, when the ambient temperature in the office is 70° I am measuring about 50-54° coming out of the unit which to me is incredible as that’s better cooling than my central AC system. My biggest issue is the practical portability of this unit.

The insert that you use to attach the exhaust duct to the window is rather cheap and flimsy. In fact, mine was either cracked out of the box or I did it when first setting it up and didn’t notice, not sure.

It doesn’t stay in my window that well and would require lots of duct tape to properly seal it. The kit does come with some strips to help seal the space around the window, but I’m not using them. The way the hose attaches to the insert is also poor.

It will easily fall out as you’re trying to get the insert in place. It needs a more secure “snap” to stay there. I need to remove the duct every night so I can set my house alarm when I go to sleep and the process is not easy.

There is a wired gate at the end of the duct in case you don’t have a screened window but I find it odd that it’s not a mesh screen because while it might keep out a larger rodent, insects or even a snake would otherwise fit through.

Other than that, I really like the unit, the remote control is fantastic, providing you with a digital display (with backlight) of what mode the unit is in, fan speed, the current temperature setting, etc.

I like that the louver auto opens and closes as well. There is an ionizer but I have no idea how to test that it’s doing anything other than I know it’s set to “on”. The unit generates about 60dB of noise from 3ft away at high fan speed.

The noise doesn’t bother me cause I like it while I work However, I can see how it might become annoying if you were living in a small space and relying on this as your primary cooling. It’s basically a window unit with wheels that sits on the floor in front of the window, and if that’s what you are looking for, I do recommend.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleAfter 17 years, my old a/c quit. I have this new one in a sun room that gets extra hot in the warm months, and have it set on 73 deg. With the outside temperature about 79, it gets the room up to 78 degrees, with one outside and 2 inside shades in the room.

The old one consistently kept the room below 75. And, the lower drainage outlet is so low I cannot put anything under it to catch the water that will hold enough water to make it worthwhile. Any suggestions? I use it only as an air conditioner.

I already have a dehumidifier. Otherwise, it is easy to use, takes up less space, and is quieter. And the price was just fine. I did mount the window apparatus as a temporary install instead of permanent, so I can close and lock the window in the off seasons.

I wished the instructions had included this option. DLRB.

A student should only be focused on his/her studies while in a comfortable setting, comfortable temperatures of course. She had complained about it being extremely hot in her dorm, for both her roommate and herself.

I took it upon myself to find her the most affordable and well-rated air conditioner. I came across the Frigidaire appliance, looked at its reviews, and decided to purchase it. Let’s just say it is a life saver.

Her and her roommate both were able to experience the first semester in college in a comfortable, nice and cool setting. I strongly recommend Frigidaire room A/C appliance.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleGreat machine. Cools our bedroom nicely. The problem: our bedroom outlets are on a 15 amp circuit and this unit pulls 11 amps. We are older, so we also have oxygen concentrators and a C-pap.

In the middle of the night, the breaker often flips, shutting down all our nighttime machines. We’ve hired an electrician to rewire the room with a 20 amp breaker with new wiring that can handle the extra load, but had I purchases a machine that pulls less amperage, that too would have fix the situation.

This is why I gave it 4 stars. If you have the power, the machine works extremely well.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleThis is our very first AC ever considering that we live in the SF Bay Area, there really isn’t a huge need for AC since we typically have an ocean breeze. I did purchase one a few years back from Costco, but that unit was so loud that we didn’t even use it and returned it as soon as it was delivered.

In any event, each year that we experience a heat wave of sorts, I always regret not getting an AC unit. With the recent fires which negatively impacted our air quality and the heat waves this year , I decided to take a plunge and researched thoroughly and decided on Whynter.

The set up seemed easy enough. While it doesn’t cool my entire house, it does keep a room cool. I’m so glad that I purchased it because we experienced a weltering heat wave on Labor Day weekend and I turned on the AC.

I never left my room, in fact, I had my daughter staying in the room since that was the coolest place to escape the hot temperatures in the house. I did catch it on sale so definitely worth the money! I would absolutely recommend this unit.

However, keep in mind that I just used it about 3 times and so far so good. The only negative thing is the fact that the remote that came with the unit didn’t work. So, I sent Whynter an email and they will be shipping me a new one.

That’s relatively minor in my mind. I just hope that we will be able to use it for years to come. Fingers crossed!.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleYesterday, here in the US Poconos, it was humid in my home. So instead of suffering I took the cover off my new portable A/C unit , that I thought I wouldn’t need any longer this year, and was reminded of how nice this thing is.

I upgraded to this 14K BTU unit this season. It does a great job, even with my sky chalet type ceiling. I loved how the listing showed the actual BTU’s as opposed to the listed BTU’s. I love how the vent swings up and down slowly to circulate the air.

I love how quiet it is. I love how the hose is assembled without a screwdriver. and stays put in the back when you need to adjust the unit. I love the extension on the window piece that actually covers my entire vertical window opening.

(The window opens horizontally so the opening is longer. ) Plus it’s not very noisy. I also appreciate this review request was just now sent to me, giving me time to use it and to get to know the pros and cons.

Not 2 weeks after I got it where everything is always peachy.
