20 Best Pool Cover For Above Ground Pool (2023 Updated)

Works well, wish it had elastic to just go around the pool instead of the wire and tool. Not that we needed directions but just to note, there were no directions included. It is keeping the leafs for the most part from our pool so we are happy but still pine straw gets thru and some leafs from time to time.

Great product! We have a tree by the pool and that was the worst part of spring was all the leaves in the water on the winter cover. This year with the leaf catcher they are just blowing off! Great product!!.

Came out of the box brand new with at least 4 holes. There is no way this cover will make 10 weeks, let alone stand up to its 10 year warranty. This cover is by far the cheapest, most poorly made cover I have ever purchased for my pool in the last 15 years.

I’ve spent half the money and gotten better quality. Pool covers don’t last anywhere near their warranty and I don’t expect them to. I normally spend about $120 on a cover and feel lucky to get 2 or 3 years out of them.

I’m quite positive this one won’t even make it through the winter.

So far so good had first rain no big puddles on my trampoline ,trued the original trampoline cover and they don’t drain enough ,,end up with big pool of water everytime:(

Great Value and quality is the best. Nothing like those that fall apart when on after a few days. Will see what it like this winter to see if it withstands the harsh winters of michigan.

Lasts one full winter and possibly longer. It is the best thing for me because I can use it as a cover after the first year. It is without a doubt the best for the money.

The very first thing i noticed was that this cover came with actual detailed instructions on how to install it properly. While it may be obvious to some people, to new pool owners this might as well be quantum physics.

Next the quality of the cover is outstanding. It is way more than just a “tarp” i can totally see this lasting for many many years for us.

In the midst of doing a liner replacement. Will be winterizing in a week or so, and will use the cover. It appears to be more durable than the old pool cover that finally fell apart. We hope the next season will work out better.

Great purchase. We have a lot of trees that drop leaves into the pool. In the past, it has been difficult to keep them out of the skimmers and the bottom of the pool to keep water circulating. So much so that at some point each year we gave up, turned the pump off and let the leaves win.

This year with the cover in place we were able to keep ALL of the leaves out of the pool and never shut the pump down. The skimmers remained clear and never had to empty them for the 6-8 weeks the cover was installed (until all the leaves had fallen).

Do recommend ordering enough of the water tubes to completely go around the pool to keep the cover from moving, we did and it was not a problem. The only issue we had was when it rained water did stay on top of the cover and it stretched so that several inches of water remained on the cover.

If it were slightly more porous then this probably wouldn’t have been an issue. (this is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5). The only real impact of this was instead of being able to use a leaf blower to keep the cover clear we had to use a leaf bag/pole to skim the top of the cover.

No big deal considering our past history of shutting the pump down and giving up until all the leaves were in the bottom of the pool and having a big mess to clean up afterwards. Highly recommend this cover with the water tubes.

Packed it in a storage tub and it will be ready to use again next year.

I purchased last year and it stayed put the entire winter. However it does not keep my pool cover in place. I still had to tie water jugs to the pool cover to keep it from sliding around. This pool wrap does help keep bugs and frogs out of the pool, and does keep the unsecured edges of the pool cover from flapping around in the wind.

When it stays on it works, but it doesn’t stay on. Was fine for a few weeks but once the temperature dropped for several days and it was windy there went the seal. Do not spend the money on this winter cover seal, will not stay on.

If they can figure out how to get the seal to stay on in cold and windy areas then it would work but until then I won’t be buying this seal again.

The product works well but do recommend doing one or two more wraps around the pool. The packaging could be better than just putting it in box.

I bought this leaf cover because in the video on their website Jay stated more than once “this cover is not like the cheap ones made in China this is made in the USA”. Also the brand advertised is Arctic Armor.

Well what I received is stated right on the box made in Vietnam. This is not what I ordered and have sent an email to the returns department but have not received an email response yet. They also charge an additional $2.

I like the fact that a lot of debris does not get through the net because it’s so close meshed together. It’s even catching the little seeds falling off my trees above my pool. I’ve just had it on for two days and I’ve got all kinds of debris on top of the net and not inside the pool making it easier for me to clean it.

I have a 18×52 Above ground pool and it has extra material hanging over each side which I like.

I bought this leaf cover for my mom’s 22ft above ground pool and it fits nicely with about a foot extra all the way around. It’s very easy to put on with 2 people. This leaf net has done its job with keeping all of the pine needles, pine cones, leaves, etc out of the pool as long as you pull it off the right way.

There are a lot of trees near the pool so this was a life saver! Shipping was very fast and product was just as described. I would recommend!.

I needed a new solar cover for my pool as my previous blue cover was disintegrating and becoming a complete mess. This cover said it would raise the temp several degrees. After about 2 hrs of using it, the temp had gone up about 2 degrees, which was a good start.

It truly does heat all the way down, unlike my old blue cover which heated a lot about 2-3 inches on the top, but the rest of the pool was cold. I disagree with another reviewer about this being a cheap bubble wrap cover that was glued together.

Its a good quality vinyl bubble blanket. Another reviewer said it did a poor job of keeping debris out. This is not intended as a debris cover. Its main purpose is to heat the water a bit, and if it keeps a few leaves and bugs out, that’s a bonus.

It floats on top of the water to heat it, and it does a good job. Yes, you will have the debris that’s on top of the blanket drop into the water if you don’t remove it before taking it off. A simple dip with the skimmer will take care of it all.

And I can’t speak highly enough about the awesome site to store service! I love it! Its truly a wonderful feature that Walmart offers and it keeps me coming back for online purchases again and again.

I bought this in September to cover my pool rather than drain it, pack it away and set it back up in the spring. We put it on in October following instructions. By December the cover had completely sunk to the bottom of the pool even though the outer edge was still secured.

Apparently, the material had stretched. It hasn’t torn, so no other way to describe how it magically got so big that it could just sink to the bottom. We tried a couple of times to pull it taut against the edges, but it was a losing battle once the water was on top of the cover.

We have not fished it out of the pool yet, but I see that all the debris, pollen will be left behind in the pool once we take the cover out. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but I would put some flotation devices under the cover to help keep it from sinking into the pool.

As for the pool itself, I am very impressed with its durability. It has survived 3 years, although the rim developed a tiny air leak this year.

It leaks after one summer. We’ve had 2 of these pools and after one summer they leaked and were unusable and unfixable. Not just a small leak, but steady and a continual drip leaving puddles. We just filled the second pool that we bought last year and we didn’t know there was a leak until we started filling it halfway.

A shameful waste of water in a draught ridden state. So basically it’s a one use pool for the summer. We filled the second pool and had to drain it because of the leak. Also directions for set up with filling the pool with water and air in the ring are poor.

We were very careful with the pool, put it on an even surface, stored it carefully in a large plastic container and took care of it. If you just want it for one summer get it. But plan on tossing it.

One star as it poorly made and should only be no more than 50 dollars.

ABSOLUTE PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! Shoppers should look at the large number of 1-star ratings before buying this pool cover and before buying from this seller. Another customer had the same experience as I did but their cover disintegrated in four months.

Should I feel lucky that I got five months??? No! Should the company replace or refund my and the other customer’s money? Yes! Are they going to??? No!!! They are not standing behind their product. Their warrany is meaningless.

I’ve been buying pool covers for nearly 20 years and this is the first time a cover has not even made it through a single season. All others have lasted for at least two years! I am wondering if this cover sat in a warehouse for the past 2.

5 years during the pandemic. I will never again buy anything from “Save More on Pool Supplies”. What an ironic name! After 5 months of use, I need to Spend More on Pool Supplies to replace this bad cover.

I hope that Walmart takes a strong look at the vendor they are partnering with. I hope that Walmart sees that their own reputation is marred by the actions of their partners.

Awesome pool covers at a great price. I have an in-ground L shaped pool, so I ordered a larger size cover 40×24 and cut it to fit 36 X 15 X 22. Ordered the 12 Mil thick cover and it works much better than I expected.

Cold here at night (central Florida) 40and I have my pool heater set at 88 only running from 9 am to 5 pm. Actual water temperature during the day is about 86 because my pump and heater is 200′ from the pool.

When the system starts in the am, 16 hours later, with cover ON overnight my water temp for a 25K gallon pool has only dropped 2 or 3 degrees. It used to take till 5 pm to get my pool back up to temperature, this cover will pay for itself in energy savings very quickly.

I call that impressive.

We just opened up our 18 X 36 rectangular 1200 series Sun2Solar pool cover. It’s like saran wrap! It’s so thin it wants to tear and blow in the wind. I doubt that it will even be heavy enough to stay on the pool.

My last pool cover was 4 or 5 times this thick and cost half the price. I would NEVER buy this pool cover again. In fact, I will never order on line again. I’d rather pay more and see what I get before waiting to get something that isn’t what I expected and have to deal with it.

Pool cover is NOT like the one we recieved. The pool cover is very cheap made and really thin, I didn’t send it back because we really really needed a pool cover because we had winterized our pool and didn’t want the chemicals to deplete in the sun.

Unfortunately I don’t believe we will order again. I truly was hoping this pool cover would of been made alot sturdier. I don’t know what we will do if it doesn’t. We have purchased very well made winter covers in the past at another place but unfortunately they were on backorder.

I was expecting a somewhat thicker cover with the weight of this being 4. 5 oz. /yd2. I’ve had heavier covers before. The way this was folded from the factory was not done for ease of initial installation.

The black side was folded towards the inside, so you need room to unfold it and rearrange it before unfurling on top of the pool and water. This took considerable effort to avoid any wear on the cover.

All in all I’m pleased with the cover as it does look durable. Obviously, it will take a few years for the final review. The dove color is nice too. Now that I’ve installed it, I would recommend this and I would buy this again.

I’ll try to remember to review again in a couple years.

These covers are very good. They really last, and the price is excellent. Much less expensive then buying at a retail pool store.

Price was good. Size, shape & color were correct. Arrived quickly and in good condition. Quality seems satisfactory, but only put it on the pool 1 month ago at the end of September. Won’t know more until Spring.

I would have liked more grommets a little closer together, but it worked fine.

I really wont know until next spring, but compared to other covers that I have used in the past, this cover is much better made. It is a mesh above ground winter cover that is very tight weave. After having a rain there were small puddles of water sitting on the cover and cover looked as if it was waterproof My concern is if the water will drain through as it is suppose to.

I called to question my concern and was told not to worry that the weight of water would cause the water to drain. I certainly hope the water drains through because that helps in filling my pool and I dont want to have to pump water off the cover!.

I googled a search for pool covers and chose your site over others as it appeared that the pool cover I chose will last a good 8 years without abuse. It was better than most covers I’d looked at. This just seemed like the PERFECT fit for us because it’ll even be way over the lip of the pool even with a tractor tire inner tube in the middle of the pool.

My goal is to have the cover fit so tightly (held down by gallon milk jugs filled with sand or water). The tube will be tied down, too, to make sure it stays in place all winter. This is only our second year with a pool this size so I’m hoping this will be a better ‘fit’ than the one that came with the pool.

I’m pleased it is protected from UV rays. Having managed/lifeguarded at our city pool for 9 years, I know the kind of damage those rays can have on any type of equipment that stays out 24/7/365. I believe this will be a GREAT product and pool protector.

The cover was the size and shape that I needed which is great and when it’s on it does a great job of keeping debris and things out of the pool. However, the tarp I have on it was much more robust.

The metal cable and tightened device That came with it is a great idea and works somewhat it seems like it isn’t meant for multiple daily taking in and off because about the third time the plastic cover on the cable broke and started peeling off.

We get 30-40 mile per hour winds almost daily at night and sometimes the cover comes off and sometimes it holds.

Firstly, I like the ‘tan’ colored-top w/silver underlining. can’t stand seeing bright blues of tarps. Secondly, in NE Ohio, winters can be brutal. While this cover has a 15-yr warranty, I do not see it lasting that long for us.

However I do expect it to last at least 5 years’ worth of Winters (let’s say Oct thru May. ) When I ‘do the math’ (Price divided-by 5 years,) the amount is nominal and worth every dime, I feel. The cinching system is a breeze and tightens the wire by a few turns of the ‘key.

‘ *Special Note: We’ve always had problems with covers blowing-off mid-winter-times due to the way the top of our pool is designed. SO, this year (2015) I decided to NOT follow the directions of pre-lacing the cover’s eyelets before putting it over the pool.

Instead, I spread the cover over the top rails/frame; adjusted it so that it was approx. on-center. I weaved the wire cord in one eyelet, then behind one pool leg, and out the 2nd eyelet. Grant you it does not look ‘as tidy’ as in years past (following manufacturer’s instructions.

) BUT, it worked-out fine, adjusting some ‘bunchiness’ as my hubby & went along. I can guarantee this way will hold the cover on, WITHOUT blowing-off this winter. NO EXTRA TIES; NO MILK JUGS; ETC. EUREKA!!!.

I’m so glad I bought this; it is on our pool for the second winter. Water stayed sparkling clean til Spring, and the grommet and cable assembly keep it tightly on the pool in high winds. Rain and snow evaporate off the top side, and no dirt reaches the pool water.

On removing, I hang it on a clothesline and power wash the top side. This product has saved me the hassle of draining and dissembling my pool every year. Price extremely reasonable; I would have paid more for such a well-designed product.

We bought the pool in March, set it up in May after leveling the ground where it was going to go. Overall the pool is decent, it’s a body of water to cool off. The pump and return lines could be adjusted.

They are not far enough from the intake to really move the water around the entire pool, so not everything gets cleaned out. The ladder is absolute garbage. It is so shaky regardless of weight. Go ahead and purchase a good ladder from a pool store or online somewhere else.

The over also does not fit. If you have the pool filled to the brim, it might fit. But you can’t do that because of the gaps in the liner near the support posts. Tried putting some tubes in the pool to hold it up some, no dice.

So go ahead and get a larger cover if you’re gonna leave it up through the winter. So after spending a grand for an all in one package, you get what you pay for really.

Cover arrived quickly. Heavy duty . Hope this cover lasts. Competitors 10 year cover lasted one year and became porous . The new cover appears to have a heavier coating. I gave high hopes .

Cover made of quality materials. Let’s see how it stands up to winter in Upstate New york.

Did not hold up. Several tears in cover through the winter. When i took cover off to open pool, water was completly awful. Spent $150 on chemicals to fix water. When i contacted company to tell them about tears in cover they basically said sorry about your luck.

Never will order anything from this company again. Horrible customer service. DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!.

Worst pool cover I have ever owned. Line to secure cover not long enough. When we tried to make the connection in the winch that tightens the line the line broke. Had to go to local hardware store to get the correct size and tensile strength line.

Quality of cover itself questionable. Doesn’t appear as strong or long lasting as the cheapest tarps you can buy.

Great little pool to cool off in with a floaty or for the younger kids to play in. Pump works well enough to keep the water circulating. One Clorox tablet lasts 7-9 days in the pool. We set the pool on a grass outdoor rug as it was suggested to use a mat under it.

Also bought a cover for my t to keep out debris and to keep wildlife from getting into it.

Not as heavy as some,for me that’s a good thing. Easy to put on because of lighter weight. Heavy covers still rotted and ripped,and only were good for maybe 3 seasons. If this one lasts just 1 season it will be better than an expensive one.

I will buy again.

Lightweight canvas. Clamp broke right away on first use but we just used another and canvas works good

This pool cover fits my pool perfectly. It is of a decent weight, and will hopefully hold up through the snow and ice this winter. there is a 10 yr warranty if not! It is a good quality for the price.

Works as intended but is very brittle. Have to be cautious when putting on or removing from pool – feels like it will rip or tear at any moment.

Keeps the leaves out of the pool. Just heavy enough not to blow out with high winds, but we can pull it off the pool just fine.
