After opening boxes we were pleased to see all pieces in great condition. The tricky part is the first step in locking in the corners of the 4 outer frame pieces. I tapped with a mallet to ensure. Ordered the natural as I will be staining.

Yes some of the slats have a few splinters but that is to be expected as this is the unseen support pieces of the bed. King has 2 spine supports with 2 legs each. 2 of the legs spacing were a little off but I inserted cardboard to make a tighter fit, no biggie.

The feet touch the ground with the weight of the mattress. It may look like they are not but they have small taps added to the bottom of the feet. This is a very solid bed frame with minimal noise. We have a 15 in plush mattress.

I am very happy with my purchase! Seems like some of the reviews are expecting a deluxe custom made frame that would cost 4 times the price.

I got this bed frame as it was recommended to me by someone else. When I received the frame, I noticed immediately that it did not look like good quality wood. I put the frame together and it was very simple, and the first night I was very pleased.

I also really like how it looks. However, the second night, I noticed that the frame started feeling slightly unstable, so I went under and made sure to tighten everything, which helped a little. The third night, I started hearing an awful squeak.

Every night since then, the squeak has gotten worse and worse, and the stability feels worse and worse. Nothing that I do seems to fix it and it drives my boyfriend and I absolutely insane. I wish that I never bought this bed because I have not slept well since getting it.

I love platform beds and I especially love wood bed frames, but I do NOT recommend this frame. While looking through the reviews I notice that all of the bad reviews explain the same exact thing. I wish I would have looked at the reviews more closely before purchasing.

the photos in description as well as in the thumbnail above shows that it is a light wood. IT is very much a red toned wood and different. The photos also appear to have a strongwomen middle beam that doesn’t have legs, part of reason I purchased, I want to slide things under bed and this looked like the middle support was enough.

In fact it has two middle legs that come off of the middles cross beam. Lastly, the smaller support planks were such bad wood with large wood shards which stabbed hand when tucking a sheet, and left splinters in mattress! The middle supports can be unfinished and a lesser quality wood, but they shouldn’t splinter, manybe sand first, and put a poly coat on.

overall dispappointed. the box also came damaged and the bed inside took a dent as well.

So far I like this bed frame very much. I put it together by myself (and I’m 63!) and while the last step was difficult without a helper, it wasn’t hard to do. Great handy tools are included. Once assembled, you can tell it’s not a flimsy Ikea-style bed, it feels really solid.

And no squeaks. Support slats with velcro are terrific and seem to stay in place. I wonder if the velcro will give out over time? Happy with this purchase. Plus, delivery was fast.

This product, once assembled, will provide an excellent base for my new mattress. Unfortunately, due to poor health I haven’t managed to construct it yet. I am actually thinking of putting it together myself.

This is because the manufacturer has assured the buyer that the bed frame is easy to assemble. There aren’t any annoying screws as the joints are wedged in position. I am attracted to the simplicity of the frame.

Love love love! This is a great product, very sturdy! My significant other and I sleep together and he is an extreme plopper. With all his plopping broke the wood underneath our last bed frame. This one doesn’t move an inch when he decides to plop.

The assembly process was very fast, took no more than an hour and provided great tools to make the process faster. Completely worth the money!.

I have never written a review before but I want to prevent anyone else from buying anything from Barley Grains. This bed arrived and when I put it together, the screws not screw on all the way and the bed would not tighten.

It is poor quality and cheaply made, very rickety and not sturdy at all. I reached out to the seller to let them know that I wanted a refund. They immediately said they would only offer replacement parts and wanted me to put the broken bed back together to take pictures for them.

Then when I said that I wanted a full refund, they said they could give me $20 (!!!) for a partial reimbursement and that I could ask if any of my family or friends wanted the bed which is crazy because the frame is BROKEN.

They literally said that returning a big item is too much of a hassle. Barley Grains is a terrible company with a bad return policy and poor customer service. They sell bad products and then do not reimburse their customers for their poor product.

Buy a bed from Costco, they have a 100% return policy and much better quality. I will never be buying from Barley Grains again.

Gorgeous bed! It was pretty easy put together with the help of one other person. It looks stunning and sturdy. For the price and the look, I’d recommend it for any bedroom adult, kids, guest, etc. The wood color looks exactly like the photo.

My only negative is the wasted space underneath. There is a lip that hangs down that prevents you from placing anything taller than like 8in, but there is room to fit about 12in. If you have stuff to store that you will never access them perfect.

I love this bed!! I ordered two for our guest room. They arrived extremely well packed. Each piece of styrofoam packing material was inside a thin plastic wrapping, so there were no bits of styrofoam all over the room when we unpacked the beds.

There were tools that came with the directions to use to put the bed together, and those tools were good quality. My husband had no difficulty assembling the beds. The bed itself is very well made, and it looks classy.

Although the bed is advertised as mid-century modern, it also goes with transitional décor. Although these beds could be used for kids or teens, I bought them for adult use because they can accommodate adult weight.

Brilliant. I like this bed. Sturdier and better built IMO than many of the cheap bedframes available and looks great. Fitted together quickly and simply (REALLY loved the ratchet hex head tool !!!). Also love that there are no middle uprights each side to kick your toes on.

Only question mark will be that the mattress sits on top of the base, not ‘inside’ and I have some concerns about the mattress slipping around a little (& the Velcro strips supplied arguably reinforces that small concern).

Probably not a big deal unless its being jumped on by 10 years old’s all day, but one thing I’ll be watching as we use it. Overall very happy.

This bed frame is amazing! Not only did it arrive 3 days earlier than expected (which was only 4 days after purchasing), it was packaged perfectly with easy-to-follow instructions. The actual frame is sturdy, it doesn’t creak (especially when put flush against a wall), and holds the mattress solidly with double sided tape, so no worries about the mattress moving if you move in your sleep.

We had purchased the recommended bed base that came with what we found to be a ridiculously high queen size pillow top mattress that at over 70cms in height had me having to pull myself up into bed. This bed is solid; I constructed it alone with an easy to follow guide.

It has just enough room to clean under with a mop (board floors), and does not look as though its squeezed into our small 2. 9 x 2. 9mtr bedroom as it did with the original base. The brown timber slats on the headboard/foot blend easily with other wood tones & the metal frame although very solid means it does not look heavy.

I am so pleased with the Sensarest air mattress. I am 5’4″ and 140LBS and my boyfriend is 6’4 200LBS so he tends to pull me into the middle but this air mattress kept us both on our sides and slept comfortably! The Casper Bedframe (full sized) was so easy to assemble that I gave myself a pat on the back!!! The box that it was shipped in contained the tool needed for putting it together, instructions, and a cool coloring page for relaxation after I put it together.

The sturdy construction of the bedframe added such a sound support base that even my older Casper mattress gave me the maximum support that my achy back needs. The purchase was more than worth it!!!.

Very easy (even fun) to set up and looks great!! Feels very, very stable. A lovely addition to our room. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey. But overall we are very happy!

The bed frame is easy to put together, assuming you have your own wrenches. The stamped wrench is a little hard on the hands and is relatively useless, but will work in a pinch. The “Lock nuts” are actually nylon compression nuts, which cuts down on hardware and will keep the bolts tight, but takes a little elbow grease to tighten down completely especially with the included tools.

A ratchet or box wrench would be a better choice for and will speed up assembly. That said, I ended up having to use the supplied tools. The instructions were sufficient for assembly. Assembling it alone, I had it done in under an hour.

The only tool was not mentioned, but I would recommend is a rubber or plastic hammer, to seat the slats, as they are pretty snug. (that’s a good thing) I prefer when possible, to work smarter, not harder.

All in all, this is a solid frame, with plenty of room for under bed storage.

I was very hesitant to buy a bed online without having touched it or seen it. I took the leap and assembled this bed to hold our new king size mattress. We are 3 weeks in and it is incredibly sturdy.

I have not heard a sound from it and it supports the mattress well without a box spring. Our five year old had jumped on it and it didn’t flex or squeak. It was difficult to find a frame that could support the weight of mattress, me,my husband, sometimes our daughter and our 90 pound Doberman, because most frames only support 500 pounds.

This frame has supported the weigh without issue and has given our bedroom a nice updated look. I am so excited with how much I love this bed!.

I put this bed together without any help. ( NO MEN required) ( that made my husband happy) The instructions were a little foggy but the materials are pretty self explanatory. I did have to redo the headboard once but it was easy.

The frame was very sturdy and solid. An Allen wrench drill did make things much easier on my hands and made it quicker. My husband is a very large man and was comfortable laying on the bed after the mattress was put on.

I really liked the center slat construction. It really supports the mattress without having to get a box spring.

I read several reviews and I have to agree, it is easy enough to assemble alone but a second person would be helpful. There are several different screws that need to be kept separately. They all come in well marked bags.

There is one extra of each pc of hardware supplied with each marked bag (just in case one is lost, its really nice to have extra). Follow the instructions provided step by step and all will fit perfectly.

There is a note to leave all the hardware loose until it is fully assembled, I think this is critical and all will work out fine. It seems loose at first but as the tightening starts it becomes very stable.

I have a tendency to ‘improve’ things as I build them, but this did not need anything at all. We used a memory foam queen mattress and it fit perfectly. The support straps (foundation) are not noticeable at all through the mattress.

The only addition we made was to wrap some pipe insulation foam around the two outside middle legs so if/when we kicked them with our feet, it would not be as painful.

I have an older dog and the the old frame box spring and mattress was too high. This platform was easy to assemble and very sturdy. With the name brand hybrid mattress, the end result was a better night sleep for us both.

Not quality sold as heavy duty with rails Rails are some plastic things you set on. I never did get all the rails screwed down, after 3 hrs of losing and tighting. not level crazy. Went and bought plywood so that the mattress does not go through openings.

I have bought another companies a year ago and it was wonderful, easy to put together and sturdy. This product is aweful.

I’m very happy with the product. I love the extended height. I’m able to store things under the bed with no problem. The only issue I have is that the mattress stops are plastic, not metal. My grandson has a bad habit of sliding into the bed causing it to move the mattress up against the stops.

I’m worried that he may break them.

The first bed I ordered came with a damaged rail. Had it picked up and received a replacement. The second one had a pretty bad ding in one of the rails but I put it at the head against the wall so it doesn’t show.

It was super easy to put together. My complaint is that if your mattress slips even an inch or so, the underneath slats show! The color online seems like barnwood, however; the actual color is what I call honey oak (from the early 2000’s.

Otherwise, I guess it is ok. Its a little high price for what you get. I’ve learned my lesson purchasing major items online with this bed frame and the less than desirable mattress I purchased at the same time.

This was the first of two zinus bed that I have assembled. I honestly don’t think I will purchase a bed from another company. I feel like I have ripped off the company by getting it so cheap. This bed frame is worth double or triple of you buy it retail.

The wood pieces fit together snugly with and had no room for the bed to be unsteady. Both beds have come with a small ratchet for the allen wrench bolts that sped up the process incredibly. This bed in particular had double sided tape pieces on the slats to stop the mattress from moving.

It was easy to put together, it is sturdy as hell, and looks amazing. 10/10 would purchase again in a heartbeat. a.

I bought this bed frame because I wanted a low profile, beautiful platform bed. It exceeded my expectations in every way! It arrived quickly in a box that fit inside my small SUV. My husband opened the box on the first floor and we carried the pieces up to the second floor.

I assembled the bed in about 90 minutes. amazing how some brilliant engineer figured out how to design and label every part, and how it actually went together without a hitch! It looks beautiful in our bedroom, and feels solid and secure.

no squeaks or wobbles. I am very pleased! We also purchased the Suzanne twin daybed and trundle for a guest bedroom. just as easy to assemble, and I like the low profile! No one has slept on it yet. I’ve only had the bed for three days, so I can only evaluate it as it seems when new (if it doesn’t stand the test of time, rest assured I will amend my review). The construction was good, so far as I can tell, of nice timber (cherry, in our case), and the particular model we got allowed us to fit (more or less) a super-king bed into what an estate agent would call a “spacious double bedroom”, but which anyone else would call an over-sized cupboard.

The little side tables are nice, but unfortunately not quite so flexibly placed as advertised; they rely on the slats being almost exactly centred, so for us there were only two places on the bed. Natural wood tends to vary quite a bit in colour and grain, but our side tables were extremely.

poorly matched to the rest of the bed if they are in fact the same wood; uniformity has never really appealed to me, so I was pleased with the variation, but if you like things to match, perhaps they are not for you.

MDF+veneer might suit better. The clearance was a pleasant surprise: we are able to cram a great many things under the bed, and with the storage units (which we didn’t get due to cash-flow) I think this would be a nigh-perfect product for space-limited people who want an attractive, spacious bed which has been well-made in this country.

Love the design of this new king bed. It’s a bright white and the fabric has a linen-like texture. It’s very well made and went together quickly with two of us. Just one thing to note, it does not fit an adjustable base as the headboard is curved so the base can not move up or down.

Our 12″ mattress fits right on the platform but is only about 20″ off the floor. We are considering adding a low profile boxspring to bring the mattress up a few more inches.

Beautiful looking bed, lovely blue velvet fabric. Putting it together was not as easy as other beds we’ve done. One leg needed washers on one side in order to shim it and make it stand straight, but most interesting is that the king mattress barely fit.

I don’t have an abnormally large or thick mattress, and it barely squeezed into the bed. Putting on the sheets will be fun!.

This bed was seriously easy to assemble. It took me around half an hour. The parts are all labeled and mine came with the tools needed. I especially loved the Velcro that holds the slats in place. it’s a simple, beautiful frame.

I’ve had it for around a month and I’m impressed with how sturdy it is. Ample under bed storage. I have slipped my luggage underneath. Overall I’m very pleased with this purchase. Box was really heavy, would recommend having help to bring it inside.

Simple for one person to put together as long as you follow the instructions. There are a few pieces where the holes don’t align perfect but the bolts still hold all together. Take your time and you’ll be fine.

This bed design was well thought out. Took me less than 1 1/4 hr to assemble alone. The ratchet tool was perfect. I plan to buy 2 more. Excellent quality for the cost. Preinstalled Velcro on the frame and slats made it super easy to do the final assembly.
