20 Best Pillow For Hip Pain Side Sleeper (2023 Updated)

I have hip problems, and this is exactly what I needed for a good night’s sleep! The cooling gel is by no means COLD, it’s just right to keep you cool while you sleep without being a shock to the system.

And the foam is very dense, so the pillow doesn’t compress when you put your leg on it. All around a great product!.

I was so disappointed. This knee pillow is to stiff. I can feel the seams and it radiates heat. I had thrown away my other one before using this one. big mistake. I guess eventually I’ll get used to it.

I bought this pillow 4 months ago for my college age son. He already had a pillow like this and wanted another one. I was able to find the desired memory foam fill at Bed, Bath and Beyond. The delivery was fast, and the price was cheaper than other vendors.

My son is enjoying his pillow! It is comfortable for sleeping, and he said the pillow stays at a cool temperature. I will buy again when needed.

I actually purchased this exact pillow for my wife 4 years ago at a specialty chain store for almost twice the price! It went by a slightly different name then, but is definitely the same pillow. That’s why I jumped on this one when I found it! Since then, they have upgraded the pillow a bit with some colored piping on the edges and a “stocking” type sleeve to go around the actual foam so you don’t feel it’s weird texture even when pulling it out of its cover.

It also has one side that has a more breathable (but stiffer) material so that you can get the full effect of the cooling sensation. The material softens up with use. This pillow is by far the most comfortable pillow I’ve put my head on! Down, fiber, and styrofoam filled pillows don’t even compare to a good memory foam pillow like this one.

I usually sleep with 2 pillows, but since I’ve gotten this IsoCool I’ve only used this one. This is a VERY small price to pay for a pillow that WILL last you years, especially if you get a pillow protector to go with it.

I used to steal my wife’s pillow if she had to go to work before me and get a couple hours sleep with this pillow, but now I finally have my own. I know this sounds like an infomercial, but I seriously recommend this pillow, or at least a quality memory foam like it.

It won’t solve all your sleep problems, but it definitely will give you some much deserved comfort during sleep.

I got this pillow because I slept on it at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas. I hadn’t had sleep this well for such a long time and I was surprised I was a side sleeper. I even bought tempur pedic pillows but they didn’t work for me.

I love how the pillow doesn’t go flat and it’s good neck and upper body support so I don’t wake up sore. I bought four so I can have back up. It’s affordable and it helps me to wake up to a pain free morning.

I literally went through about 30 pillows to try to find one I could use most nights. And this is IT! I have a sensitive head/neck with TMJ and regular migraines. This pillow has a magical filling that is somehow supportive yet soft! So many fillings are either too fluffy (unsupportive) or too firm (most memory foam containing pillows).

I love switching between the curved and non-curved sides, too, depending on the type of support I am wanting. I have both the full size and travel size pillows on my bed, and they are both great. They hit the neck differently due to their size differences, so they are both useful to me at different times.

I recommend their pillow case, too! It’s a bit cooling and the fit is perfect. (I wish there were more colors like blue or navy, but the green goes with my stuff the best. ) This is seriously my holy grail pillow, and the customer service offered is phenomenal! I have recommended this pillow to so many, and have just bought a couple more as gifts for family members.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and suffer from quite a bit of joint and muscle pain. My neck is a big source of my pain so I started looking for a neck support pillow. I’ve tried many other different types of pillows before with success and first but failing after some time passes.

This pillow has actually reduced my neck pain quite a bit. The pillow was very fluffy at first but after about a month of use, it’s “settled” into its (probably) regular position. The pillow has one slightly longer side, so you can choose to sleep either “hugging the slightly longer side or leaning back onto the slightly longer side, depending on your sleep style.

I imagine that I’ll have to replace this pillow after some time passes, due to it getting flattened out, but that is normal for most pillows after awhile of continued use. I would recommend this pillow, especially given the price compared to that of other neck support pillow.

Also, it comes with its own unique pillow case so that was a nice touch, however, horseshoe shaped pillowcases are not a common thing!.

This pillow is the best, most comfortable and supportive pillow I have ever had. It is so cozy, I can’t even wait to get in bed. It has changed my sleep pattern, A friend recommended this after I was in a car accident and I had neck and back pain.

I thought the shape of it looked crazy and didn’t think it would work. I was wrong. From the first night I loved it. In fact I tell everyone to get one. Made in the USA too.

Great for side sleeping once you find your appropriate height/thickness! I initially went by my height and didn’t consider other factors like shoulder width and mattress softness until after I received my pillow.

It was hurting my neck and did not let me get a good night’s sleep. I learned after the fact that there were other ways to decide which thickness of pillow to order, so make sure you pay attention to how much height you need!! I exchanged my original size (5″) for a 4″ pillow cube, and now it fits me great.

HOWEVER, I am not a 100% side sleeper, so when I do sleep on my back (maybe 25% of the night), this is NOT the most comfortable pillow for me—unlike some reviewers who still liked it on their back. I need the little neck notch/head dip for when I sleep on my back, so I end up switching between two different pillows (this one and a good quality orthopedic pillow) throughout the night.

So my conclusion is: “Combo” sleepers need a different version of the pillow cube that also has a little neck notch somewhere for a back and front sleeping option 🙂 Until that exists, I think I will need to purchase a Pillow Cube Classic (which I was unaware of originally.

Wow, that one is actually a CUBE! Go figure. haha) so I can have it next to my other pillow and simply roll onto it when I’m ready to sleep on my side.

I would definitely recommend this pillow, however the website’s standard recommendations in terms of which size to purchase aren’t great to be honest. I bought the pro standard because they said you should only purchase the thick if you’re 6’4″ or taller.

That was a mistake, I wish I would’ve bought the thick. It’s still a great pillow, but wish it was a littler thicker. It’s so soft and you sink right in to it, which is great, but a lot of the thickness of the standard pillow end up getting absorbed in my opinion.

I also really hate that you have to take a stupid quiz to get a size recommendation and that they make you put in your email to get the results. I mean this is honestly ridiculous for a an online only store in 2023.

If you had a store front I could go to and try the pillow then I’d be a bit more forgiving. But when you’re online only you have to adhere to some basic online etiquette and treat your customers fairly.

Any online vendor that requires you to create an account, enter your email address, sign-up for the newsletter or any of that sort of BS is really not demonstrating appropriate online etiquette in my opinion.

Maybe it’s just me, but I constantly have to subscribe to this sort of cr** to purchase things online, or get subscribed without my knowledge my inbox gets flooded and I have to go through the annoying process of unsubscribing.

It’s honestly completely unnecessary, especially since you could avoid the need to take their stupid quiz in the first place by just adding the dimensions of each size to the site when selecting. Extremely poor user experience here and I’m really dissatisfied with this company.

All of that being said, the product is fu***** amazing and I am still likely to spring for the thick size at some point in the near future. It’s just really annoying that I now have to pay over $200 to get the pillow I want, when this could have and should have been avoided (hence the low rating for value for money).

I’m a guy in his 30’s, I don’t think I have particularly broad shoulders, I sleep on my side always and change sides throughout the night and I have a somewhat firm memory foam mattress. If any of that sounds like you I would definitely recommend ignoring the company suggestion and upsizing.

This pillow is awful. The positive reviews are completely fake. I’ve published multiple negative reviews to their website, which were blocked or deleted before they posted. The pillow itself is hard as a rock, tiny, and the “ice cube” pillow offers zero cooling technology.

Beware! They also charge a $20 “restocking fee” for pillows that are literally donated or thrown away. There is no restocking that takes place – it’s just a hedge against high numbers of returns. This company anticipates a large volume of returns and will charge you unless you opt to make an exchange.

Very shady practice! Don’t make the same mistake I did. Hopefully I can prevent at least one person from buying! If you’re in Utah and trying to support local, opt for Purple – they offer the Harmony pillow for the same price but with infinitely better value + customer service.

Oh, and guess what? They don’t charge you for returns. Pillow Cube wins the worst product of the year award.

I heard about this pillow from a blog I read. After reading reviews, I was so excited about this pillow because it was supposed to be the ultimate pillow for side sleepers. Much to my disappointment, that was not my experience.

Many of the reviews of the extra firm pillow suggested it was too hard so I took my chances with the standard firmness one. To say I have been utterly disappointed would be an understatement. I am giving three stars because I don’t want to judge this product too harshly since I can admit that maybe my expectations were too high.

Part of me wants to believe I just got the wrong firmness for my comfort, but the rationale side of me won’t allow myself to spend another $100 for a pillow just to test out my theory. I can tell the pillow is of high quality and shipping/arrival was much quicker than I expected.

This pillow is surely an upgrade from a typical home store pillow, but definitely not great for people who feel like they need more support under their neck/shoulders while side sleeping.

This isn’t my first down pillow, so my comments are in comparison to my previous experience with other down pillows and specifically a pillow I was very happy with for a long time. 1. ) this pillow stinks, which is probably as a result of the type of duck down used in it.

You’ll want to research this aspect of different types of down before buying to decide if you’ll be OK with this choice. Duck down isn’t necessarily bad compared to goose down, but stinky duck down isn’t a good experience when you’re trying to drift off to sleep.

Seems like a better use would be outerwear for outdoor activities, and not a pillow. I aired out the pillow for a full day outdoors and the smell dissipated somewhat. I still get a whiff of it a couple times a week, and I’m currently airing it out again for the day.

2. ) The description details DO mention that the mid-plush version isn’t all down-filled, but in case you missed that detail, you should know before paying: The label on the mid-plush I received indicates that the inner chamber is 85% feathers (which is not “down”) and the outer chamber is only 15% down.

The down content is labeled minimum 75% down, which I believe is the minimum possible to qualify as “down”. (In other words, of that 15% “down” content, 75% of THAT is “down” (down clusters) and the rest is filler) The product description online isn’t so explicit before you buy it.

This gets into the slightly complex issue of down labeling, but you really want to research the labeling before plunking down a chunk of money on this. This pillow is basically the minimum, and IMO lowest-quality thing you could buy that technically can still be called a down pillow.

3. ) The feather shafts poke through the cover and are prickly. Even good down pillows often include some component of feather fill, so this isn’t unheard of, but this pillow was worse than my previous experience in this regard.

ALL THAT SAID, my previous down pillow was almost $300 and this one obviously is quite a bit cheaper. This seems to be a prime example of “you get what you pay for” and I take it as a lesson learned.

If you’re interested in a down pillow and are disappointed by this one, don’t blame down pillows. IF this pillow costs a lot more than you would normally spend on a pillow from other stores, and represents your first down purchase, do some research first.

You may not be happy with this purchase and rather save up for something nicer, or just buy a non-down pillow and save your money. The sheets and towels are nice here, maybe treat yourself to a plush towel instead.

I am a back and side sleeper, so for years, I have searched for the firmest pillows that would hold their support. I have been interested in down/feather pillows for a long time and decided to try Brooklinen.

I am disappointed with the quality of these pillows. I had them for 6 weeks and I have only spent 2 weeks sleeping on them, and they flatten. I puff them up everyday and sometimes in the middle of the night, but they flatten.

So, I sleep with both stacked on each other. I have pillows that I bought from a department store years ago that are memory foam and those have retained their firmness much better than these. I am tempted to return them, since I am likely to buy new pillows again soon, but I may have to bite the expensive bullet on this.

If you are looking for firm pillows these are not for you or ones that won’t go flat, then these are not for you.

Pillows are soft and comfortable… but not sure yet if they are worth the money. They are extremely soft (which is what we wanted) but they seem like they are going to lose shape very easily. We’ve only slept on them for a couple of days… and so far so good.

Tried several pillows over the past year on Amazon with no luck. Either too hard, too soft, middle of pillow goes flat after a few weeks or you can’t adjust it to fit under your head or neck. This one moves around and fits the way you like it and doesn’t sag in the middle because the inner stuffing is loose inside like a down pillow.

You can plump it up where you need it especially if your neck needs more support. It feels soft but supportive and I look forward to a night of great sleep on this pillow as I sink down into what feels like a nestling, cradling soft cloud.

Highly recommend if you wanna feel like a kid again.

After trying seven different pillow types, the salesperson found this on thier website. As a side sleeper with neck issues, the is the first & final pillow I will need to buy. Another great feature is that it is down alternative & adjustable to your firmness or softness.

Finding the right density is a bit of an exploration but with BBB it’s easy to return and get the perfect fit. Felt a bit like Goldy Locks as after the “active” which is firm and then the soft which is too soft I’ve found my fit with the medium.

After the intial purchase of the active although too firm and bug, I could tell there was something to this pillow that could be really good, better, for my neck and more solid sleep. The design is super great for side sleepers!.

I bought this for my daughter. She loves it! Delivery was fast. I picked a medium firmness. Actually the choices are very confusing. The brand named sizes in a weird way. It is difficult to guess what they really mean.

You would think first it’s about size in measurement, but it’s about weight/firmness. I try to buy it earlier from Homedepot, called their customer service, and asked about differences of three choices of this boomerang pillow.

They couldn’t tell me. Later I figured it out on my own by reading very carefully. Thanks to BBB for a coupon I got 20% off. A few days ago I ordered mini Travel pillow Breakfast in bed for my self.

Lordy, so many pillows, so many reviews. I’m a back/side/front sleeper, got thèse on a whim after reading millions of reviews fir millions of pillows. Lucked in; they’re firm, spongy and spring back.

Two for reading, one for sleeping. Will they last? Well 2 for £15; one year would be great, ai will update the review if they fail me.

I bought these pillows as I was fed up with the old ones. How I wish I had done it a long time ago ! Before I had these I woke every morning with a headache and a stiff neck. The first morning I woke I wondered what was wrong then realised no headache and my neck felt great ! Never tgiyfht I would get so exited about pillows.

Had these a while now, and although the pillow material is soft and filling ok, it leaves a permanent dent in it. I fluff it every morning, but it isn’t firm enough for me unfortunately, and sometimes makes my neck ache.

Still trying to find the perfect pillow for me.
