20 Best Pillow For Bulging Disc In Neck (2023 Updated)

I hesitated to purchase this pillow as I’ve tried so many in the past and have given them away. I use a CPAP so sleep mostly on my sides but also wanted something that wasn’t hard. This is also large enough to meet my needs.

There is give so it isn’t hard but it is somewhat firm. My neck feels totally supported and in perfect alignment and for the first time my shoulders are perfectly comfortable. The one disappointment for me is that it looks like there is a “Trough” (dip) horizontally going through the length of the pillow.

That’s exactly what I wanted so my ears aren’t crushed all night long! Unfortunately it’s barely there and not deep enough to keep my ears off of the pillow. Otherwise it’s a winner for me. Please offer it with a deeper trough.

Ten years ago I was in a horrific car crash. During my 30 day stay in hospital a physical theropist offered me a cervical neck pillow for more comfort and better sleep. Sh an the neck pillow were my saving grace as it did offer me just that, comfort and better sleep.

I would not be without one ever again. The neck roll does seem firm at first but it will conform to your neck. I do not put it inside my pillow case as some directions will instruct you to do. I lay it on top of my pillow so that I can adjust it where I need it.

The pillow case is removeable for washing.

I have had months of shoulder and neck pain, waking up with a pulsing headache many nights. My physical therapist recommended this pillow and since I have been using it, things have gotten MUCH better.

I use it outside of my pillow (instead of inside) so I can better position it and it works great!.

Really helps my neck a lot but flattens too quickly. Also, I am getting really annoyed at products that used to be able to be machine washed and dried, demanding handwashing and hang drying. Why do we even have washers and dryer’s anymore? This is just one more example of the deterioration in the products we get in both quality and durability.

Pretty soon they will want us to go to our local creek and beat our laundry with rocks to wash it. People do not have time for high maintenance laundry in our every day products.

I’m a picky pillow person. Princess and the pea stuff. I’m not pround of my delicate nocturnal disposition, but it is what it is. However, this pillow has really impressed me! Perfect firm: soft ratio, nice and cool, as well as being surprisingly resilient to me punching it into various different shapes.

Also I’ve got broad shoulders so I usually find when I lie on my side, most pillows are too thin or squishy to keep my head and neck in line with the rest of my spine, no problems at all with this though.

And it’s not as if you can’t sleep on your back with it either, I’m not sure how it does it! Never thought I’d be writing such a long review about a pillow. Get it.

I started using the ZenPur Premium Organic Bamboo Memory Foam Pillow 4 nights ago and I really like it. I suffer quite badly with neck ache and until now, I have struggled to find a pillow that is comfortable.

I haven’t had any aches since I started using the pillow and I am getting a great nights sleep! I am a side and back sleeper so it works great for both. It feels firm to touch but has just the right amount of give in it to make it soft enough to lie very comfortably on while at the same time my head and neck feels well supported.

The previous memory foam pillow I tried was far to firm, with no give. All in all I can’t recommend this pillow enough!.

So happy I ordered these pillows! They are the perfect combo of soft and firm. I have been sleeping better and waking with less soreness in my neck. I was previously sleeping with a memory foam pillow that was just way too firm.

This is so much better! Please note that these pillows come flat in a vacuum-sealed bag. They puff up nicely when you take them out. Also, no mold problem. They arrived crisp and clean.

I bought this cervical foam pillow a year ago because I had constant sore and stiff right side of my neck. I saw the advertisement about this pillow online and thought I must try it. For me it did not help my problem.

My neck still sore and stiff, the back of my head felt burning hot during the night and the pain also extends to the top of my scalp. When running fingers through my hair on top of my head experienced soreness.

I am now back to using normal soft pillows after also trying the firm and medium ones.

I love my pillow. Helps so much with my neck and shoulder pain and has the perfect amount of support in all the right places. I was worried it wouldn’t be comfortable for side sleeping, but it is! So glad I got it! Tip: let it air out for 3 days before you get it.

It has a strong odor when you open the package so I was concerned since I’m highly sensitive to smells. However, after it aired out for a couple days there was no smell at all. Anyway, I’d highly recommend this pillow!.

Do not buy this pillow. It’s a generic foam molded chunk of low quality memory foam. You can buy the exact same non branded pillow from any drop shipper in Ebay for $15. It arrived via Chinese SpeedPak, had no labels, and a very pungent scent.

Absolutely feel duped out of $50. Going to file a complaint with PayPal to see if I can get my money back without having to pay an exorbitant amount in shipping fees to some obscure address in France.

The pillow arrives very compactly packaged But once out of the box, it springs into shape within a few minutes. It had no odor and appeared to be of good quality. I let it sit for the full recommended 48 hours before using it.

I have been using a contoured pillow for the past 7 years so was familiar with the feel. This pillow is not as firm as some but still gives good support. I tried it out for 2 nights and was happy with it.

I will be using it for traveling since most hotels have terrible pillows.

This is a great idea in theory and I read that it worked for a lot of people so was disappointed. I had the same issue as I had read in other reviews that the ridge under the neck was not high enough and the valley for the head propped mine up too high.

And another issue I had seen was that the sides for side sleeping aren’t where your head normally goes when you sleep on the side, so you need a lot of space on the bed for this to work. I do but it still required being awake in order to adjust your body to go back to sleep on the sides correctly.

So I would wake up on my side with my head wonky in the middle, or on the wrong side. Another issue I had was the measurements. I paid close attention and measured myself correctly, but they don’t take into account the length of your neck, only your shoulders.

I got a petite to go with the shoulder measurement, but I have a long neck too so again, this is a great idea in theory and seems like it’s such a custom item, but unfortunately can’t be customized for shorter or longer necks.

I contacted the company for a return, and they are refunding me without requiring it to be shipped back since I used it for several nights in hopes to figure out how to make it work for me. So that’s nice, but I feel bad to waste this massive molded latex pillow which they said is recyclable at least.

Oh one other issue was that the cover which was nice material and well made, was still too tight around it so it kept my head up even more. I ended up using it with a regular cloth pillowcase over it that could flex even more to the molding, if that makes sense.

But that was awkward as well.

Cervical pillows are a bit weird, but takes time getting used to. I started going between cervical & regular pillow every other day for the first week. Then 2 cervical to 1 regular. Now 100% cervical.

It takes some getting used to. I love the firmness of the pillow. It manages to be firm & soft at the same time. The center seems to be a nice cradle for my head to lay. I do move around & find myself sleeping on my back on the sides (sides of pillow are designed for side sleeping, not back), but I think I’ve gotten better to keeping my head centered when on my back.

I’m 6′-2″ 195 lbs & got the regular size. It may be a tad big for me, but I’d have to have the other sizes side by side to see what works best to know for certain. It’s likely the right fit as my chiropractor recommended this size too, so probably fits right, just need to get used to it some more.

My lower back & neck has felt better over the last 3 weeks that I’ve used this.

I had a serious car accident at 17yrs old and suffered for 30yrs before having c5,6 and 7 fused which helped. 12 years later and multiple concussions the same issues returned but with additional issues.

Nothing was helping. I found a good cervical Chiropractor (Revive Upper Cervical) and once they worked on C1 and C2 and got these aligned many issues were reduced but not resolved. They recommended this pillow and once my body adjusted to it (about 3 weeks) 95% of my issues are gone.

Inexpensive to costly. By chance found your site. A pillow was a surprise. Reviewing your pillow seemed to be the answer. Trying to sleep put to much pressure. Tried several standard pillows. Paid about $56 total.

Quick delivery. It worked when position correctly. Had to be in exact position. Worked immediately to the point of no pain. Majority of healing is your pillow. Nearing recovery after over a month since unjury.

I have a big head and long neck so I appreciate how each end of the pillow is a different size for tall and short people. The raised edges keep your head in place while letting you side sleep too. The memory foam is absolutely great, other memory foam pillows feel stuffy or warm whereas this pillow is cool with the right amount of firmness.

This is a must buy!!!! Totally worth the investment!!!!.

I can’t recommend this pillow enough. My physical therapist recommended it to me about a decade ago, and I never want another pillow. Comfortable for back sleeping, which the neck supported but the head in neutral, i.

e. , not raised, position, as well as for side sleeping, using the fuller sides. By now all other members of my family use it. Most of us (ranging from 5′ 8″ to 5′ 11″) find the mid-size works best; my husband is a little taller and broader and uses the large.

(The large is a tight fit in a standard pillow case, but it does still fit. ) The pillow does eventually get packed down enough that it needs to be replaced, maybe every 4-5 years, but I keep the old ones, because they’re still better than a conventional pillow.

I just tried the Bow-Tie pillow, because it seemed an innovative design, but it’s not nearly as good. The neck section is much too big, so the head is raised as if on a conventional pillow. Stick with the D-Core.

I had to return the pillow because the foam was not firm. I ordered firm but foam was soft and didn’t support my neck. The foam just doesn’t seem to be holding up with the last 2 pillows I’ve received.

Maybe Core could talk to your supplier to see what’s happening! I ordered a replacement but haven’t received it yet. I really like Core products and will still order from them mainly because of their Customer Service Dept.

I’ve been purchasing my pillows for years from this company and overall I’ve been happy with the product. It does seem the quality isn’t the same as the pillow doesn’t last as long. I ordered the basic pillow in firm this time but it was very hard.

Well, four months have passed and I can no longer sleep on this pillow (I have been sleeping on a cheap $5 pillow for two weeks with better success). Once again, the fiber is no longer supportive, just as in the other Core Products pillows I’ve tried.

This review is for a sleep number curved comfortfit pillow. Was not available and would not accept my product scan. I bought 2 of these right after Xmas last year as they were on sale bogo and I couldn’t pass it up! I attached a photo of my extra one that I keep in its dust bag until I need it.

This is my favorite pillow ever! I am a side sleeper and this gives the perfect support. I no longer wake up with a kinked neck. I cannot say enough how much I love this pillow. It holds its shape too, just have to give it a shake once in a while.

Expensive but worth it!.

This is the second one I bought. My first one lasted almost 3 years. I have sever degenerative disc disease C1-C6 with a bulging disc that goes into my spinal column. I have tried over 30 pillows and THIS IS IT!! I wish the pillow part lasted longer, but definitely worth every penny! Thank you Core Products❤.

As is typical of cervical pillows, it may take some time to get used to. Have other pillows handy to switch out while you get used to this pillow. I also have a Core Tri-Core cervical pillow and have found this Cerv-Align pillow suits my current needs, as it is a slightly softer pillow.

I had a car accident a few years ago that ha slept me with severe, daily neck pain from whiplash. Regular pillows do not properly support the injured ligaments in my neck, and so I wake up hurting each morning.

This pillow however has been a breakthrough for me! I can comfortably sleep on my back or side and do not experience the same type of pains in the morning and my chiropractor has even noticed that I am progressing faster now through my treatments and needing less of them!.

It just didn’t work for me. My head sank into the hole. I couldn’t figure out which side to put under my neck. I will re-examine the video to see if I can improve the alignment.

What a pain!! I’ve had this pillow conglomeration for a few weeks. No matter what combination you do, it’s still obvious you have several layers under your head. Your neck will not sink into the pillow and in the night you are half on and half off.

You cannot scrunch it up under your head if laying on your side. I’ll tell you exactly what it’s like. Imagine a hotel that has a dozen pillows on the bed, some really thick, some medium, some ultra thin.

Imagine taking 3 or more choices from that array of pillows and stuffing them into one pillow case to get the right pillow. No doubt where this idea came from. On the surface it sounds like an awesome idea, but in reality it just makes my neck hurt.

Yes, I’ve tried lots and lots of combinations with the same results. It’s still several pillows stuffed into a pillow case. One redeeming thing was the 2″ piece of foam in the mixture. I was able to use that piece of foam on top of my “expensive” memory foam pillow I’ve had for years that was getting a bit flat.

I used their foam in my pillow case of my memory foam pillow ti give it a boost. Problem solved. my old pillow is much better. Not worth 100. 00 bucks, but ,oh well, live and learn.

best pillow i have ever used. i ordered the pair king size pillows. it comes with one set of the cushions. luxome states due to customer feed back only one set is needed as it is shared. however, in my case, my best comfort level was using both cushions and the two layers.

that left the wife unable to experiment her configuration using the cushions. i contacted luxome to request a set of cushions and they replied “as a courtesy we will send you a set of cushions. ” i felt luxome was sending the cushion as a favor.

i do understand that in the majority of cases when a set of pillows is ordered one set of cushion is sent as it is more than likely that will suffice but there are those ocassions when 2 sets of cushions are needed.

i think luxome’s reply on those instances should be “absolutely. we will set a set right away. ” please, note i am extremely happy with the pillow can’t say anything about the wife as she is still waiting for the courtesy pillow luxome is sending.

For most of my adult life I’ve struggled with getting a good night rest. I usually awake in the middle of the night with neck and or shoulders pain. This is also due to the fact that I especially sleep on my side.

I’m a side sleeper that has slept exclusively on memory foam pillows for years. I’ve always wanted to try a contoured pillow like this, but I was a little worried that not having a “traditional” shaped pillow wouldn’t be comfortable and would kill my shoulders and neck.

Right out of the packaging, I’ll admit, I thought “Oh yeah, this is definitely going to be too firm”, but I was really intrigued by the unique shape and my old pillow was worn out, so I gave it a shot.

I am SO GLAD I did. It took a few nights for my neck and shoulders to get used to being cradled and supported, but even then I just had some slight shoulder stiffness that went away fairly quickly. Now that the adjustment is over, I sleep beautifully every night and wake up with no pain in my neck or my shoulders, well, unless my four-legged snuggle buddy pushes me off the pillow and claims it for himself! When I received the contour pillow, it looked like all other contour pillows I have tried in the past. Full disclosure: I am a stomach sleeper 90% of the time. With that in mind, if you are a back sleeper this is absolutely phenomenal.

I laid on my back and the contour without going flat was superior! I was actually surprised. If you are a side sleeper, this is still a good choice as it still contours when you sleep on your side. For me, it was a little more awkward because I like to put my arm under my pillow and above my head.

It took a few maneuvers, but I was able to find a comfortable position. If you are a stomach sleeper, as I am this pillow can go either way. If you don’t sleep with your arms under your pillow/over your head a stomach sleeper would still benefit from this pillow.

I have used this contour pillow exclusively for naps and nighttime sleep since I received it. It has maintained its shape and I have actually been able to fall asleep laying on my back. I see myself continuing to use it, as I feel I have less neck pain and it can teach me to sleep on my back that is a double plus!!.

The White Contour Support Latex Pillow was a great addition to my sleeping regime- high quality. It comes covered in a lightly padded easy to wash outer cover around the latex pillow. The pillow cradles your head while still providing support to your neck.

I never felt like my head was engulfed in this pillow. Another perk I noticed is that it didn’t have a chemical smell like most latex pillows. That was a nice surprise. It also kept its temperature low at night.

I haven’t had the need to flip it over for a cooler side. Overall I’ve slept very well with this pillow and highly recommend this and will purchase more in the future.

I love this pillow, so glad I purchased. We regularly see reasons to keep our head/neck and spine/back aligned when sleeping. I wasn’t ignoring it but was not totally convinced the difference between a “softer, less-formed” pillow and this one was all that different.

Several hundred dollars later and no real quality sleep (not waking up several times a night), I became a believer in the rhetoric one reads about this different pillow. Upon arising, no more stiff or aching necks, shoulders or upper back.

I first want to start off with my experience with my older pillows. They were nice, but I would almost always wake up with a messed up neck or my head would be hurting. Since I’ve been using these pillows, I can honestly say, I have not woke up with any neck pains or headaches (knock on wood).

These are memory foam, which is nice. They do have a curve to it on one side and the other side is flat. The curve definitely takes some getting used to, but once you do, it is so nice. I often have my arm under my pillow while I am sleeping, with the underside being flat, that took some getting used to for me as well! All in all, I am so pleased! It’s been so nice waking up without pains!.

We are obsessed with these pillows! We had always used standard pillows (the $10 ones from virtually anywhere) but as we enter our late twenties, we realized investing in a good pillow was becoming crucial to a good nights sleep.

The first night was strange, it was an adjustment. But by the second night we fell asleep in minutes. I have noticed a huge difference in the way my neck feels when I wake up! We will never go back to the old pillows.
