20 Best Phone Holder For Jeep Wrangler Jl (2023 Updated)

I’ve had my share of wobbly phone holders, and have mostly made my peace with them, but now that I have the Wrangler of my dreams, I wanted to see if I could upgrade that experience a little bit. I’m very glad I discovered BulletPoint.

On the plus side, I found a good position that keeps the phone right where I want it, not blocking anything (including my view of the road, it only is as high as my hood). Also on the plus side, it is locked down tight and doesn’t move at all.

Also on the plus side, being able to confidently do one-handed insertion and removal is very, very important. On the negative side, only this: I think it should be a little clearer on the web site that I would need to cut off part of my rubber dash tray insert in order to mount it.

It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but I think when offering such a well-made product for people who care about quality (and probably care about their vehicles, too), the site should allow this critical piece of information to be much more visible.

The only time I was able to finally get the answer to this key question was after taking delivery of the mount. I’m super happy with the mount, but in the back of my mind I know I will have to find a replacement rubber tray insert if I sell the car or do something else with my phone.

If I ran BulletPoint, I think I’d charge $35 more and include a modified rubber tray, so that owners could set their OEM tray aside. To sum up, I can’t imagine a more effective or solid solution. I wish it was slightly clearer upfront that I’d be cutting my tray insert to install it.

I just think that’s a basic courtesy.

I highly recommend this Bulletpoint Jeep JLU 4xe phone holder platform/ball mount. The dash on the 2021, 2022 4xe has a specific shape due to the charging indicator lamp. The Bulletpoint mount is custom fit to work around this lamp.

It is securely, redundantly attached with double sided tape, an existing dash panel fastener, and two additional (optional) screws that go in two holes drilled in the plastic of the dash. I purchased a right and left mounting platform.

The 4xe comes with a removal rubber liner that has to be lifted up to install the mount. I chose to trim-cut this rubber mat so that it can be replaced on the dash in between the two mounts. The stability and quality of the mounts delivers value that justifies the price.

Once the ball mount is in place, different arms can be attached, to mount a phone, camera, gps, or other device. As indicated in instruction, installation is easier if the windshield is folded forward.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The Rubigrid base fits perfectly into my Gladiator’s dash area, and the only thing difficult about installation is the windshield getting in the way of my big head trying to see those tiny screw holes.

🙂 My only concern isn’t with the product itself, but the area that it’s mounted. The Jeep JL/JT dash is a pretty thin, flimsy plastic, and the mounting screws themselves only go into very shallow threads that are attached to the back/underside of the dash (you can see these if you remove the Uconnect head unit).

For basic small items like phones and radios, I don’t imagine there would ever be an issue. But, if you’re planning on mounting larger items like tablets, or plan to use the longer arms extended up above the dash itself (meaning with no support from the dash exterior), I would strongly recommend reinforcing the mounting holes from the interior.

Mounting heavy objects far away from the attachment point is going to put a lot of stress on that plastic, and over time, I could easily see it deforming or sagging forward.

I ordered the full base mounting kit with the cell phone and go pro mount, My package came in on Jan 8th 2022. it had some missing parts. Reached out to Bullet Point. with my shipping number and order number as well as photo of what I had and what I was missing.

Customer service was Fantastic no question asked they sent the replacement parts right out to me few days later. Installing the kit on my 2021 jeep Wrangler everything feels heavy and solid. The Universal Cell phone mount is made of what feels like steal I mean everything feels heavy.

I really dont know what to say other than this Product is worth every cent. there is no rattle there is no movement once the locking is tighten down. the mount allows my phone to be right there making it so easy to use my phone either up right or to the side this is a must have item for those who have a Jeep Wrangler JK, JT,JL etc.

A solid mounting system. I found that the XL phone holder works for the Iphone 12 in a thicker 3 card case. It’s just wide enough for the spring to engage and hold it. I have found that the Ipad holder annoys me a little bit because it has a tendency to come loose if I accidently knock it up.

The face plate detaches from the arm. (Maybe I haven’t mounted it correctly. I will have to take a closer look. ) Another small issue is that one of the lock nuts that attaches the base to the RubiGrid was defective and would not tighten down.

Since I had 3 others for the base I decided that it would work just fine and it has been fine. The radio holder is made for smaller handheld radios. I figured that was the case from the pictures but I bought one to try with my full size duty radio.

After I pried the sides open a little that radio actually locks into the mount with the battery clip. All in all a solid 4 stars.

I love the extra space but I don’t think the cell phone holder is going to last very long. It has a very thin rod between the base mount and the swivel ball. When you adjust the angle of your phone you can see it bend and flex.

The locking nut for the swivel does not turn easy which makes it difficult to adjust the phone angle. The apparatus that holds your phone (iphone 8 plus) cannot hold it in the vertical position without attaching the goofy rubber thingy.

The rubber thing must have been a after thought because it is nowhere in the instructions. Not a good phone holder at all for something that goes off road! Anything hard placed in the storage area will rattle like crazy in the hard plastic.

Should be supplied with pads for the bottom. I fabricated some from an old mouse pad.

I originally bought a dash tray on Amazon for 27 dollars and I got wat I paid for cheap. The mount for my phone kept coming loose. I gave up and spent he $$ for this one and have had no problems with it.

It hold my iPhone with no problems and does not constantly come loose like the cheap one. You know the old adage you get what you pay for go cheap get cheap. This one works fine for me.

The material on this item it’s good and sturdy and has been doing the job. My only complaint is that, the mount that holds the phone doesn’t tighten to well. If you hit a bump the mount will move and turn.

That’s why I gave it a 3 star. Other than that it’s not bad. I used the front mount for my action camera that has been pretty awesome.

Very easy to install. Slips right on. I didn’t use tape to hold it on because I want it easily removed. My dog can put her paws on it and it’s easy to wipe off as well as durable. It also is comfortable for your arm as it has a little arm rest on each side.

My original console cover started to fade due to constant exposure to the island sunshine. So I initial purchased a cloth cover which faded incredibly fast. So I tried this and it works it is comfortable and fits the phone exactly.

Now I did not mount the charger cable with the kit but you can.

I bought this needing somewhere to put my phone because it kept sliding around and falling when I had it charging or listening to music. This fits and it works perfect! Love it!! I would buy again or recommend to a friend.

There are literally dozens (maybe hundreds?) of these type of phone holders being sold by numerous vendors. I have owned several and none have actually performed like I felt it should. Finally this one shows up and it is exactly how it should be.

First of all, most of the competition makes these out of plastic and plastic is just not up to the task of holding a phone stable for any length of time. I owned one before that sat in a hot car and deformed from the heat.

That will never happen with this holder. It is all aluminum and very stable. It uses 2 ball and socket joints that allow movement of the phone so you can adjust it how you like. The ball and sockets are made in such a way that they require some effort to initially set but once positioned they do not move.

The actual slotted clip that mounts on the vent grill is tapered so that it does require some slight effort to install but once in place it will not fall off. It will also not tear the vent grill out if you decide to remove it.

I had my doubts about the actual phone mounting arrangement since it uses a magnet to accomplish this. A thin rectangular metal plate with adhesive backing is attached to the phone for the magnet to grab.

I use a thin silicone case on my phone and the plate is attached directly to the phone so the magnet has to hold the phone through the case. I was afraid that over bumps the phone would slide across the magnet or fall off.

I travel some fairly bumpy roads and my phone never moved until I decided to remove it to carry with me. The only negative thing I can say is the holding clip slightly restricts the movement of the vent grill in my vehicle.

You may need to think about where on the grill this will be placed as (depending on the vehicle) you could be somewhat limited to up/down or side/side movement after this is installed. The open design still allows good airflow through the vent.

If you want the best quality phone holder that actually works like it’s supposed to, this is the one you want. You will not be disappointed.

I love this cell holder. I bought an extra one for our second car. I has to get a replacement dashboard pad. I contacted Bestrix via email. They responded immediately. I sent them a picture of the part I needed, received the pad really fast.

Their customer service department is absolutely magnificent!! Very professional!!I buying another one for my son!! I have purchased other cell holders for my car, and so far Bestrix is the best!.

The dash mount Bestrix is much better than the CD mount that they made. It looks better and looks more durable. Hopefully, it will last longer than the 3 years that the CD mount lasted.

Took me about a year to find a phone holder can be placed secure to my dashboard strongly secured, it can be used in the windshield but I prefer it closer to me. It holds my iPhone with a battery case very strong with the included sticky magnetic pads.

All the other major options for Jeep’s mount up using the dash tray and hold the phone up high, at or above the dash level. I wanted a solution that held the phone lower where I could rest my elbow on the center armrest and use the phone from there.

This vent mount has been excellent for phone placement and lets me easily adjust it. My only concern, which may not really be legit, is that the phone mount spring tension is so high that it makes getting the phone in & out a little awkward for me.

And it also creates some pressure on the mounting bracket inside the vent. Which might be just fine, but does make me pause a bit. I also wanted a magnet option, which isn’t available through Offroam.

I know the concern there is that everyone wants a secure phone holder for wheeling. I get it. But I’d rather have a magnet mount option for my M-F driving, with their base mount for wheeling. It’s a super easy switch out.

I ended up buying a magnet mount with a 20mm ball attachment from another supplier and I mount it to this vent mount during the week. It is actually VERY strong and might work wheeling. We will see. Bottom line: If you want a phone mount that isn’t so damn high on the dashboard, but this vent mount!! Then accessorize it as helpful for your purposes with other 20mm ball accessories.

So I got this in my mail very quickly. Sooner than expected! Three stars is because I have a galaxy note 8 with a case. It fits just fine but, having the phone upright, and going down these awesome roads here in Massachusetts, it bounces right out.

If it was an easy case to remove, I’d just remove the case. I have to turn the phone 180° for it to stay put. It’s not to bad as I’m more likely to use it for my maps anyways but, non the less, I think no matter what position i have the phone in, it should stay mounted.

It doesn’t just fall out, it gets sling shoot across my cab landing on the floor causing me to pull over to get it. Other than that, the storage is great, better than the little OEM one. Its pretty stout and it mounts in seconds.

I didn’t use the the tape as you have to remove the mount to get the bezel off if I were to update the radio or add some switches. In my opinion.

Works great for on road use. Easily adjustable. You can set the swivel tightness by turning a little plastic ring at he base. I have to tighten it every once in a while, but it’s quick and easy to do.

For me, this doesn’t work well in the vertical position because of the high mounting position. It sticks up a little too far. In the horizontal position it works perfect though. It also works well as a dash camera because of the high mounting position on the dash.

I will mention that when on the trail or going off road, my phone usually pops out. So just beware. Works great for on road use, but not so much for off road use.

There were several things I wanted in a phone mount. 1) I did not want it over my dash in the sunlight so my phone could overheat. 2) do not cover any buttons of my dash unit. 3) low profile. 4) Easy to install or remove 5) work with any phone so when I upgrade, I’m not replacing the mount.

6) Long lasting. This little mount was perfect. It is tight and doesn’t shake. The only box it hasn’t checked yet is long lasting. From looking at it, it should survive the life of the Jeep! The thing I love the most is that it stays out of the sun for the most part.

The phone would get super hot at the dash dues to direct sunlight. This sets about 8-10 inches away from the hot windshield keeping it MUCH cooler. Also sits at the right height to video the drive if I wanted to for some reason.

It’s a great mount, very sturdy. Unfortunately the Wrangler doesn’t have a lot of options as to where the phone can go. This mount blocks a little bit of the radio and a little of the already small windshield.

The biggest drawback is it is very expensive for a plastic phone mount.

I’ve bought my JK new in 2013 and have looked for a phone mounting solution that was reasonable and put the phone in accessible spot that wasn’t obtrusive or too high on the dash. This mounting solution is the perfect spot for my phone, accessible but not in the way of any controls.

Wish I had found it sooner.

I’ve tried so many holders, like a ridiculous amount and I can say this puppy isn’t going anywhere, on or off road! It’s slick how it mounts to the vent and if you’re like me, there’s simply not enough connection points on the Jeep dash and space is precious and this tucks away and puts your phone right at your fingertips.

So that’s about it on the holder, it’s awesome, buy one… Now for another important factor – customer service. I won’t name any names (I met the owner!) responded to me directly, sent videos and tutorials, spotted an error from my pics and immediately shot a new product out to me to correct the issue.

Not that anything was damaged or faulty, they just accidentally shipped the wrong mount to me and was able to figure that out in a second after looking at my photos. She also was going to interrupt her own dinner in order to resolve the issue, which I thought was way overkill but really appreciated the gesture and care that she provided.

It’s nearly impossible to find a company like this anymore so I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to work with them and ended up buying other products afterwards. Killer people, killer products, what else can you ask for.

This replaced a very popular phone holder, that also served as a cup holder, I purchased last year. The phone would drop to the floor when going over a sudden bump in the road. The new purchase has worked perfectly.

It holds the phone securely even on rough roads with sudden bumps. Easy to install, I couldn’t ask for a better option.

This is the best phone holder I’ve ever had. A recent road trip convinced me that I needed a new way to hold my phone in my Jeep. This is the best option I could have picked , it clamps solidly to the vent.

Once the vent clamp is mounted the holder can be attached in any position. The whole system is metal and is very solid. Good purchase.

First things first, my overall impression of this dash kit is fairly good. Install – This kit took me about five minutes to install. Really quick and easy and I’m not a mech, just a driver and enthusiast with some simple tools laying around the garage.

Function – The first phone we used with it was an iPhone X. The kit held the phone in place and there was no slipping up/down or left/right (depending on orientation. ) The second phone we used was a Samsung Galaxy S9.

The case did not fit into the holder (it was a little too big) and the clamps kept slipping and one side or the other would pop free. After taking the case off, the phone fit but would slide up/down or left/right.

The S9 is about 1/4″ less wide the iPhone X with a slim case. Driving around in Big Bend in December the exterior temperature ranged from 32F to 60F. While the defroster was on, both phones would overheat while charging and go into safety modes.

With out the defroster running, they were fine though. Overall, not too shabby but could use a little more air circulation and tighter side arms or more padding for holding the phones.

Product was a perfect fit on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It was designed to use existing screws under the standard rubber mat insert that came from the factory. Installation took less than 10 minutes.

I can’t comment on the included charger as I plug directly to my phone. -1 Star on the bang for my buck due to cost. -1 star on quality because every time I go off road I need to re-tighten the phone mount and as an engineer it annoys me.

Uses two factory screws just remove them insert replace screws. Simple quick and secure on rough terrain or in crash. Phone not going anywhere!! Nice that it keeps cup holders, vents and controls clutter free!!.

I have an older model Mustang that does not have a display screen for navigation. I had been looking for a phone mount that was not permanent and did not clip on a vent. I decided to try this model because it could be mounted to the dashboard.

Set up was very easy, and the suction cup stuck really well to the glass. However, it dawned on me as I was getting ready to place the magnet in my case that it would be a bad idea since the specific phone case I have is one that holds credit cards.

I did play around with the magnet and it seems like it would work pretty well with the mount. While I would not recommend this to anyone storing credit cards, etc. , in their phone case, I think this would be a really great option otherwise.

The product seemed well enough made I am going to try a non-magnetic version.

This phone mount has very nice features, it comes all put together basically. All you need to do is find a spot (flat where standing up) where you want to mount it. Make sure it is standing up because putting it somewhere sideways – the sticker isn’t strong enough and it will immediately fall off.

Instructions on the paper were a little bit confusing. My issue with this mount and why it won’t work for me is that the magnet you need to put on your phone is Not compatible with my standing up charger.

There is an option to put a non sticky magnet inside of the case and just take it out every time I charge it. Well that’s very inconvenient for me. I can not use this mount But I’m sure it will work for others very well.

I was tired of my phone falling off the magnet mount. All the other cradle mounts had mounts that would not work for my car. This one worked! Holds my phone securely. Just make sure your dash has a place big enough to fit the adhesive mount.

I considered returning it, but then figured a way to make it fit on my dash. (return shipping cost half the product price) Anyway, finally got it to fit and it works great!.

This is a high quality phone holder that has a smart design and is easy to use! I can keep my phone within my reach but not be distracted while I’m driving. It is easily installed and fits any phone size or case! You can put it on your dash or your vent and can easily be removed if needed.

I like to put it in my air vent and it is super stable and doesn’t move around when my car is in motion. The close and release technology is great! High quality product with great warranty. Definitely worth your money!.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this. I’ve tried many phone holders and none have worked for me. I suppose I’m picky and want my phone to be placed in a particular area when I’m driving. This is perfect! The suction is great on the dash.

I moved it a couple of times after latching it down and the suction stayed on great. I think I got it in the right place for me. When driving, the phone does not move. Not jiggling around and I’m not worried it will fall out of the holder.

I was a little hesitant to give this a try as my Iphone 13 Max Pro with the RokForm rugged case was already pretty heavy but this magnet holds it up perfectly fine in my car. I’ve gone over speed bumps, taken hard turns, etc and my phone hasn’t budged.

On the rugged case there’s two magnets and the bottom one definitely holds stronger but the center one will still hold the phone as well. Very pleased that something so small and low profile functions as well as it does.

This little simple magnetic disk is the best thing to be used with your phone. I put this disk on my steering wheel so when I’m on break or sitting somewhere I can quickly put my phone on it and give it a spin to watch YouTube without my phone on my lap.

Bring at the center of my steering wheel makes life much easier when I’m eating lunch in my truck when I’m on the road. I can watch YouTube like a tv. It hasn’t moved at all with the heat or the cold.

It holds my 13 pro max just fine in any orientation.

This is the greatest magnet in the world! Whodahthunk to put sticky tape on the back of a magnet and stick it to a dashboard!? Thus and so one may be able to take their magnetized phone case and stick it to their dashboard! Ingenious! I am highly attracted to my Low Pro Magnetic Car Dash Mount.

I like mounting it and when we’re alone I sing it songs.

You must stick it to a flat, smooth surface for it to work 100%. No porous or curved (even slightly) surfaces or your mount and your phone will crash to the floor. The suction cup is very dependable and the magnet is very strong.

The mount has a tilting/adjustable pad whereas you can adjust your phone’s angle to get the best view at a glance while driving. Make sure once a location is selected, the setup will not interfere with your dashboard’s buttons and switches.

A solid product and I highly recommend it.

I’ve had these for a while now and tested it since last summer when temperatures went up to high 90’s Fº. So far the suction has been strong and hasn’t fallen from the windshield yet and now that it’s fall, it still has been holding steady.

Magnet is very strong too that my iPhone X hasn’t fallen out of it even on hard big bumps and rough roads. I’m just using the metal round ring attached to my case and it’s good enough for the magnet.

I’ve always trusted this brand since it hasn’t failed me yet!.
