Food provides such comfort. But it’s worthless comfort if it’s nothing but empty calories. The book makes a compelling (if often repetitious) case for eating more of a plant-based diet, especially a fully plant-based diet if we want rapid weight loss, the right nutrients, and fewer but power-packed calories.

Having begun such a change in my life, I can tell you that the first two weeks are the most difficult. Strange (but not distasteful) flavors. Different, but regular bowel movements. A sensation of being “full” without having consumed anywhere near as much food.

This last part is tricky because if you’re used to being filled by volume, you will have to relearn this. Full is when you have the nutrients your body needs. I can’t say I recommend going full plant-based right away because I didn’t do it that way.

I started with one meal per day, then two, then sometimes three. Now I’m back to 2, with a smartly prepared “traditional” meal, and I’m still losing weight, albeit more slowly. But I can see myself getting to the point where I’m on one traditional meal every two days.

I already feel better, and it’s strange but it’s more than just physically. My alertness is better. I think faster. I’m more energetic in the morning. I don’t crave. I’m pleased with the changes and there are more coming all the time.

This book is so well written and engaging from cover to cover! Dr. Fuhrman Presents information in an organized and easy to understand and comprehend style. We have begun putting his instructions into practice and are very pleased with the results.

Consider this knowledge for yourself and YOUR health!.

The book is very thorough and practical and inspiring in its message of changing your eating habits, and thereby your health, for the better for good. There are many suggestions about how to plan/prepare your meals, both a simple outline and more detailed recipes.

I had a friend in church I noticed dropping weight like crazy so I asked what she was doing. She said the Weigh Down Diet. I immediately ordered this book and after just over a week have dropped 7 pounds.

It is the Christian way to get yourself healthy. Love how she writes that if you put God ahead of food, it makes it easy to drop the pounds.

The Weigh Down Diet is an oldie but goodie that has helped me to lose weight while increasing my love and faithfulness to God. There are no special foods and no gimmicks, but just pure devotion to God while laying down the idols of greed and food.

It is clear and concise and easy to read. It makes a really good reference book when one is struggling with food, weight, and eating. There are practical tips as well as spiritual guidance. I will be reading this book again and again.

If you want to get healthy read this book! Ive been grain free for awhile and used to be dairy free until the pandemic. My functional medicine doctor was going over my lab results because they always take blood, and said I have inflammation and I need to eliminate dairy.

Which I have. Always read the labels and ask at restaurants if dairy is present. Its a hormone disruptor and causes inflammation which causes weight gain. I gained 10 pounds and have lost 5 so far after ditching dairy.

To complicated, it drags on and loses my interest, just to much blah blah blah. I got the “Diabetic cookbook for the newly diagnosed” by Jamie press, it was straight to the point, didn’t try to dazzle with words and the recipes are easy normal affordable recipes with a few gourmet.

It works for me.

This book challenges my way of thinking about food and farming! It discusses changing not only your eating habits, but also my daily routine. Its easy to read and tells you everything to do. He suggests a grocery and pantry list, but then has a bunch of extra ingredients in the recipes that I dont have.

Definitely, read through the recipes when making your shopping list so you can actually make the food he suggests.

I use the DMAE, it does make you look younger. Today, I had a woman at work tell me that she was having Geriatric Pregnancy and that I wouldn’t know about it because I was so much younger than her. I think she was something like over 29 years of age or above, Geriatric Mother’s age.

If I wasn’t 20 years older than her I couldn’t convince her either way. After taking the Perricone prescription, since 2001, I have gotten extremely Healthy. I was on High Blood Pressure Meds, High Cholesterol Meds.

I worked for 20 years then got married and then started my family. I took Co-enzyme Q10 one day, I was sweating and uncomfortable and my blood pressure was 140 over 90 and the new blood pressure Meds (the third one) never changed that number.

and in 30 minutes I got cooler and relaxed and I took my BP and it was 125 over 75. It was 140 over 90 30 minutes prior. Today it’s 106 over 60 and my heart rate is 50, almost 20 years later. I took the Perricone Prescription before and the co-enzyme through my pregnancy, I walked, no pain and I had a healthy girl at 38 years of age, she is now 16 and is in her 2nd year of College.

I had a Gastric Bypass and when the Cardiologist was doing my final examination before surgery, she said she had to prescribe a blood pressure medicine to me to take that night. She asked if I had been seeing another Doctor because there is no Cholesterol or Blood Pressure Medicine that had been prescribed to me in over a Year.

I never refilled. She was insistent that there was no Supplement that could bring my Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Down. I told her then I will remain healthy and not lethargic from the BP Medication that I had.

After loosing 240 lbs after GP and with the PerriconeP Keeping me healthy and young looking I had my second child healthy when I was 42. They do reduce the inflammation and makes your skin inside and out young again.

I started using this product in spring of 2019. My weight was where I wanted it to be at that time but I love food way to much and wanted to find supplement that will help me stay in shape. It took me two months to see actual performance of the supplement.

I use to take a packet before each meal but now, I only take a pocket in the morning and if I am going to have a heavier meal than usual that day. This product works great for me as I have not gained any weight since I started using the pockets.

Aside from weight management, these supplements made my skin look so amazing. I do not brake out as much as I use to. I can’t imagine not having them by my side. I highly recommend this product to anybody who is looking for something to keep them in line.

Also, I must add, I make better food choices and I exercise 2-4 times a week. They give me an additional amount of energy as well!.

I bought these and have been taking them and I think it is a good formulation. But I won’t buy again because of the Prop65 Lead Warning. I contacted customer service to find out what the potential lead exposure is and I was told it was ‘naturally occuring’.

It would be one thing if the packaging had a dye that had lead. But since I’m ingesting them and nobody can tell me which pill to avoid or anything else, I won’t reorder. They’ve done their part to warn and since I have no idea the order of magnitude or source, I’ll choose something else next time.

Heavy metals aren’t anything to mess with because they, and esp lead, stays with you forever since you can’t metabolize it out. And they wouldn’t warn unless there was potential exposure with these.

How Not to Diet: The Groundbreaking Science of Healthy Permanent Weight Loss is the sequel to Dr. Michael Greger s How Not to Die. As you might imagine Dr. Greger looks at the science behind weight loss.

One of the differences between Dr. Greger and other whole-food plant-based diet proponents is the amount of scientific study that is reference. In this almost 600-page book almost 5 000 scientific sites are referenced – and yes if you want to read the study yourself Dr.

Greger has links to them for you. Much in keeping with his previous book he begins by arguing against the standard American diet and in favor of a whole-foods plant-based diet that is “microbiome friendly rich in fruits and vegetables rich in legumes and satisfying” (table of contents).

After this he moves into two sections on weight-loss itself: “weight-loss boosters” and “Dr. Greger s twenty-one tweaks. ” The twenty-one tweaks were the most exciting part of the book for me – as someone who needs to lose weight.

I am not going to list them all here because you should buy the book but I will say that I have added several of them into my daily routine and I have begun to lose weight. I have added not eating after 7 PM drinking water before each meal adding an amount of ginger and cayenne pepper and front-loading calories during the day – having my largest calorie meal first and the least last.

You can read his explanations of why these and other tweaks can help. I have been on a whole-foods plant-based diet – for the most part – for some time but I am also on medications that cause weight gain so I am encouraged that what he recommends is starting to help me.

It s well worth the try.

Once again Dr Greger continues to educate the public about nutrition and the behind the scenes corruption that helps enable people to get obese. If people would take care of their bodies from the inside out instead of just looking in the mirror they would see results.

After all you wouldn t put diesel in a gas engine would you? Think of your body as the incredible machine that it is and feed it with care with optimal nutrition. If people would give their bodies a fair shake they would be amazed at how they feel.

I wish more people would make the connection. Don t listen to the government or advertisers for your dietary advice!! I hope people will read this book and educate themselves about one of the most important things in life.

This book uses documented medical investigations of how the human digestive system works and the foods it needs to function as it should and nourish our bodies. It just so happens if you consume what we are set up to properly use, we enjoy greater health and can LOSE WEIGHT.

It is a long book. It is foot noted out the wazoo to show where the information being presented came from if you want to do your own research or verification. It should be required reading for every school child and parent in the country, plus, old folks like me that have fought weight for decades.

This book’s information is helping me peel off the pounds and relieving some aches and pains.

My friend and I went on a weight loss plan together to support one another as we both had alot of weight to lose. These made me nervous but not my friend. We ate almost the same foods and amounts. My friend did not have the nervousness side effect as I.

We were not impressed with our results using these. She lost 9 lbs and I had lost 7. very slow loss and we both had the same cravings and hunger as before. we felt it was not for us. Since, we have gone on the intermittent diet using no diet aid pills of any kind.

At the same time we started Alli we switched to a Whole Food/Plant Based eating. I also got off the couch and became more active. Did it cause lose stools, to some extent, but not wet farts, I did not have that issue and still do not.

After a few months, about 3, it will also start to break down the hard to lose fat around the organs. You can actually feel that happening. If you have diabetes, you MUST see your doctor to get help adjusting medication for this to work.

All the data shows that ones with diabetes have issues with Alli, until they get assistance from their doctor. So please follow through on that. Alli works as described when taken and used properly. It is not a magic pill that you can take and still fork in the cake, cookies and pizza while sitting on the couch.

Eating habits and activity must change as well. So me I have lost 30lbs so far, I have 25lbs more to hit my BMI. I lost 3 in my gut and about 2 in my chest and 1 in my waist. So my clothes no longer fit.

That is a bit of frustration when you have little money and buying clothes is a challenge. My wife, she has hit her BMI and has lost a lot in body mass. We are both over 55 and have had no problems with it.

If you take Alli properly and following all suggestions, it will work but as with all things it will take months, dont expect to see a turn around in weeks.

So I started taking this 5 days ago and have already lost 6 pounds. Im a 5 ft 7 female and weighed 227 when I started it so Im definitely overweight. I did what it said, eating 18g of fat or less every meal.

Just eating a bagel with cream cheese or cereal or a frozen healthy meal for each meal. Im eating enough to feel full and still drinking soda. I feel great actually. Less bloated, not making myself stuffed to the point of being in pain from overeating.

Now the nasty part. I ate fast food one time, it was supposed to be less than 18g of fat but I didnt account for human error I think they over-portioned, so I did get the orange oil everyone was talking about.

It wasnt insane or painful, I didnt shart my pants or anything 🤣 but all day every time I went to the bathroom there was orange oil coming out. That being said, I would deal with that all day every day if I had to in order to help lose weight.

6 lbs in 5 days is phenomenal in my opinion, considering Im not starving myself, Im not throwing up, Im not sore from working out. I havent exercised at all – I have a job in fast food so Im on my feet for 10 hours every day anyway.

This pill is awesome and if you eat the way it tells you to, you lose weight FAST. You can still have sugar, carbs, whatever you want as long as you keep the fat content down. I was on a fast food and fried food diet forever so obviously I would lose weight either way since I cut my fat content down by two thirds, but this pill is helping it show faster.

Most diets take weeks before you see results, so Im very happy with Alli. If you have doubts, just try it.

At first, I was about to give it 1 star, because of the side effects it had on me, but then decided to give more explanation and give the product a fair chance for someone who may not have the same experiance.

1. It is pricy, and cannot return, so think hard before buying2. I dont have health issues and dont take medications. I am considered obese because am short and weigh too much for my height. So, after reading the reviews Ive decided to take the chance with this one.

The first two days taking the pill 2 times daily before lunch and dinner only there was nothing. On the third day, the orange oily drops described in the other reviews happened, but no diarrhea, just going to the bathroom every hour.

On the 4th day, I was dizzy and had minor diarrhea. My kidneys started to hurt as if a horse had kicked me. From there, it affected my whole back. I never had pain like this. It was similar to when I was going into labor.

I stopped taking the pills. The second day without these and I start to feel relieved. The pain subsided and I may be back to normal in couple more days. 3. It didnt work for me, but I can tell these would have helped me lose weight if it wasnt for the kidney problem.

Be careful if you consider it.

this is the absolute BEST water enhancer I have ever found! I am 82 years old & after COVID almost a year ago, my energy was all but gone. I have lost 10 pounds since mid January to today, 28 February 19 and have lost a total of 8 inches throughout my body, while using MyFitnessPal App and on a 1300 calorie daily diet, frequent excercise and using this product.

I only take two capsels per day, before my first meal. I drink plenty of water as well. I also have an Apple watch that is linked to MyFitnessPal and it helps track my daily excersise and calories burned.

I’ve been using this product for almost 2 years, great results when you are active and maintaining a healthy diet. HOWEVER, if you are sensitive to caffeine this is NOT for you. Unfortunately this will be my last supply.

I’ve noticed myself becoming increasingly anxious and couldn’t figure out what was happening to me. Once I experienced an anxiety attack, I decided to take a break from it. 1 week later, I started again and had another one.

I already have anxiety so this clearly doesn’t help. Just a warning for others!.

This supplement gives a real quick kick of energy that lasts. I started taking the dose recommended on the bottle (3 tabs twice daily, first dose upon awakening the next in afternoon) but had to cut it back to one dose (2-3 tabs daily) on most days I work out.

It replaced my preworkout drink (as using both would be unwise). I have lost almost 30 Lbs. in the past 6 months with diet and exercise included. Depending how sensitive you are to the natural caffeine and cayenne in the product (it is a thermogenic after all), it will raise your heart rate and make you feel very warm.

If I took the full dose as listed on the bottle for more than a couple days, I would get heart palpitations, asthma flare ups and insomnia, so be sure to know your body and tolerance to these ingredients and adjust as needed.

My original thinking on this book was the recipes and quick assist with dieting and better eating habits. I was also curious based on Oprah’s show and how Bob Greene had assisted Oprah in changing her eating habits and weight gain.

Interestingly, this book starts at the basis of what has prompted being overweight (scientific & emotional) and adds personal areas & habits that need attention before attempting weight loss. Very easy to read, Mr Greene prompts thought and personal inspection while offering insightful answers.

Self help books are only as effective as the reader allows and this book offers a workbook for both the emotional & physical areas of weight loss while balancing both. All things considered, this book along with the workbook is designed to stop yo-yo loss-gain and promotes eating/exercise balance.

Easy to read and thought provoking. Could have more recipes but what are offered are easy to create and are kitchen friendly (nothing that can’t be found at the local grocery). So far I have enjoyed the reading and am unsure how much of it I will put to personal use.

I plan on sharing it with a family member who might find it inspirational.

I love this book! It does say the word ‘diet’ in the title, however it is not another one of those fad diet books that leaves you searching for yet another weight loss solution. It is a life-style change! We all know that in order to lose weight and keep it off, you have to change your bad eating habits, reduce your calorie intake and incorporate healthy, nutritious foods and exercise into your life.

This is essentially what Bob Greene teaches you to do. He educates you on how to make good food choices, and provides excellent nutritional information. No gimmicks, pills, powders, or bizzare diet aids.

The menu is comprised of healthy, delicious foods! He is all about healthful living. Finally, a logical, healthy way to loose weight and keep it off! By far, this is the best lifestyle/weight loss book I have ever read.

I will keep reading it over-and-over again! A wonderful book!.

The Best Life Diet by Bob Greene (2006)is the first “diet” book Bob Greene has ever written and I find totally on target, and very inspiring. His past books, which focus on fitness, take the same “phased” look at everything, and I personally think it is much easier to make life changes in phases, vs.

the way other diet books want you to change everything at once. I was initially concerned about all the product mentions in the book, but I have looked at all the nutritional content online regarding these products and find some VERY encouraging information: no trans fats, low sugar content, whole grains, lots of vegetables, well known and well respected brands, organic foods.

And more importantly, these are products I can find in almost any grocery store in America, which takes the guess work out of deciding what to eat. This is going to help millions of people and it will encourage consumers to read labels.

Bob appears to want to change the way some companies formulate their foods based on his Oprah appearance. I applaud his efforts to help people and know that everyone will benefit by following the simple effective plan he has laid out.

I found it a bit hard to get through the first week. After that I no ltonger thought about sweets. The cravings were gone and the substitutes tasted good and were satisfying. Plenty of food to fill up on I felt like I was following a healthy diet and the pounds fell right away.

Unfortunately I had to go to the hospital for a hip replacement fp;;pwed by a rehab facility and had to modify my diet. Now I have to do the first week over again. It is difficult but necessary!!.

Personally I love it. I have been living the book for approx. 6 weeks. Since I already ate healthy, had tried exercise, counting calories, etc. and am not considered overweight I was a little skeptical that it would do anything for me.

However, I had gained a few pounds that I couldn’t seem to shake and I also suffered from headaches on a regular basis so I was willing to give it a try. So far so good. It really wasn’t hard for me to do.

I feel full and satisfied, lost approx. 15 pounds and for the most part my headaches have subsided. I’m enjoying it so much I have no plan on going back.

This book is so informative and an excellent read if you are struggling with health issues or are trying to loose weight and scale is just not moving despite doing everything right and still can’t loose weight.

I have always heard great things about hydroxycut. I had seen them everywhere but never actually thought I should use it. I decided that now was the time. I dove in head first and followed the directions to the “T”.

The first day had no difference but that’s was only the first day. The second day of taking it I noticed a difference in my overall feeling towards everything. I was slowly feeling like I had no desire to eat what I used to eat.

I had energy and drive like I used to when I was drinking energy drinks. Now at first it feeling like a lot of product at one time but you have to take that get it all in your system. Once in your system you golden.

You take half the product and it’s even easier. I mean taking something 30 mins before a meal is easy, all you have to finish when you start making food take the product. This is the next step when you hit that weight loss wall.

This product allowed me to it just get over that wall but take off running headfirst towards my goals.

First off I’ve only been using this for two days which isn’t long I know. But I actually wanted to write on here to warn people. This may in fact be a real good weight loss supplement, but the caffeine or whatever all that is in here is pretty intense, and not in a good way.

I took one pill the first day and it felt alright I did feel like I had an energy drink, and a bit jittery. The second day which is today I took two which is what it says to take on the box on the second day.

I’m currently not liking the way I feel, in fact I felt a little sick after I took these today. I would describe the feeling as having 10 cups of coffee or way too many energy drinks like drinking 4 monsters at one time.

I’ve never drank that much but that’s how I think it would feel in comparison to how I feel. I’m no stranger to energy drinks, coffee, or caffeine. I drink some on occasions, but this just is too much.

I warn anyone that the feeling from this is very uncomfortable, I feel my heart beating more than I would like. I feel like I have jitters, and a panic attack, its just not a good feeling. So anyone wanting to try this just so you know this is a real intense feeling, not a good one in my opinion.

If you decide to try I would not recommend taking more than two a day. One when you first get up for the day, and one later in the day, two a day total. I would not recommend taking two at a time and four total daily because I’m feeling sick from it.

I have a bad stomach ache and I did eat before I took them. I don’t think I will continue using these because of how these make me feel. I just wanted to warn people especially anyone not used to a lot of caffeine.

Be careful because I do worry this could potentially be harmful to certain people. Like I said I’m very used to caffeine, and these are just way too powerful for me.

Let me starts off by saying: I absolutely /love/ that Vitauthority has products that compete with Skinnyfit at much more affordable rates, but that being said? This product is just. /not/ good. It’s extremely gritty.

It mixes just fine, but it does -not- dissolve well. You have to keep shaking/stirring to make sure it doesn’t settle at the bottom of your cup or tumbler. And the taste? Obviously the 4-5 Star reviews have no tastebuds at all, or have found a way to completely mask the ‘minty’ flavor.

It’s /overwhelming/. I used only 1/4 of a scoop in my morning breakfast shake (chocolate), and it still completely overpowered every other flavor. I couldn’t taste the chocolate at all, only the crazy grainy mint.

I honestly don’t think it would be that bad, if not for the fact that the product is sweetened to high heaven. That’s what makes it worse, is the sickeningly sweet taste alongside the mint. I’m so disappointed by this product.

I really wanted to like it, because all of your other products are fantastic and have worked out great for me. I’ve noticed a visible difference in my waistline since I’ve started using your Multi-Collagen, Melt, and Stasis products in conjunction.

I was hoping to add this to my routine as well, but I just can’t get by the taste. And to make matter worse, you guys banned me from commenting on your Facebook page for leaving an equally honest review.

I am loving all the products I purchased!! I have been using the collagen burn and detox nourish for several months now and have noticed my cellulite is improving. Not much progress in the weight loss department yet but hoping I see improvement there too.

I’ve only been using the lean greens for a short while and love it!! I feel like I have so much more energy but there again not helping in the weight loss area. I just purchased Move with my last order.

I am hopeful it will help with joint pain. Too early to tell, I think!! I do love the products and will continue using them!!.

To start, this tastes awful! But the benefits are worth it. I just take it like a shot (in a small amount of water) and chase it with a flavorful beverage after to avoid the taste. I do this in the morning as the 1st thing I put in my stomach.

It really helps me curb my cravings and reduces my appetite while I’m at work during the day. I’m not sure if I would buy this product again though because of the taste, it’s like toothpaste flavored.

Prepared for 2 days after reading book. Spent a small fortune in buying required food, no nitrates, hormones, preservatives , non processed, free roaming, non grain, spa treatment and massaged protein, you name it and I bought it.

I have endured the nausea of eating so much food within 30 mins of waking, I get up for work at 4:30 AM. I have followed this diet to a T, I’m on meal plan A. I’ve gone to the gym for cardio 4xs per week and 2 epsom soaks in a deep tub 2xs per week.

I started this revolution on Monday March 5th 2018 by Saturday I lost 4 lbs, Monday March 12th day 8 I gained 1 lb, the next day today, I gained another 1/2 lb. At this rate I will weigh more by day 14 then when I startef on March 5th.

I could fill a swimming pool with all the water I’ve drank. I DID NOT DEVIATE from the book because I didn’t want to fail. I’ve lost a total of 2 1/2 lbs, I will still follow for the next 5 days but seriously doubt I will lose another 11 1/2 lbs over the next 5 days.

My fear is I’ll weigh more then the day I started. I should have known Metabolism Revolution sounded too good to be true. Total letdown and out the expense of the book $28 and the cost of the required food.

We have used Haylie’s Fast Metabolism Diet for 4 years and have loved every minute of the journey. The program is so sustainable once you get in the rhythm and we have felt great doing it and never deprived.

I love how it accommodates “life” and doesn’t make you feel imprisoned or deprived. The recipes were fantastic and varied from the simple to the gourmet! We just got our copy of Haylie’s Metabolism Revolution and this will take our relationship with food to an even higher level.

The book is packed with common-sense advice, solid nutritional and dietary information and advice to change how we see food and dieting. We’ve done her programs with just the food elements as described in the books and have purchased some of her products that have helped us stay on course when life got busy or stressful.

Either way, we’ve had great success and expect that continue with the information we’ve learned in this new book. Thanks, Haylie, for helping us live healthier and have fun doing it!.

Highly recommend Haylie Pomroy books and programs. They are a realistic way to loose weight and keep it off for life. Easy to incorporate into day to day living. Following this way of eating has improved my health.
