20 Best No Bark Collar For Small Dogs (2023 Updated)

I’ve never dealt with a more unprofessional company. After my vet STRONGLY suggested not using this tool for MY dog, I returned it 3 months ago. Original box, unopened, within the 7 day return policy.

They won’t answer email, voice mail, etc. I have filed a complaint with BBB, only to discover there have been numerous claims. BEWARE.

Following the instructions (even in Chinglish) resulted in just what was advertised: vibrations and a sonic tone that has reduced both the frequency and volume of barking by our 9-year old yapper. He gets one free bark before the device activates.

Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks? Other (more expensive) solutions we tried before did not work because of his long hair.

This collar beeps and vibrates. It might work for some dogs but it did not work for my 2 dogs. They heard the beeps, but it didn’t affect them at all. The vibration is so mild they could bearly feel it.

I put it on my arm and the vibration was just a very mild vibration. It did not deter my dogs at all.

Absolutely incredible! The very first day I used it on my 9-month-old Springer, I saw results! She always barked non-stop while I was preparing her meals. She barked as usual while I was preparing her breakfast; by that evening when I was fixing her dinner, she didn’t bark at all, and hasn’t since.

Her barking while playing has really subsided to a minimum. I have also used it on her brother with similar results. The one-size-fits-all collar has closely spaced holes for a perfect fit. The only drawback is that the collar is long, and there is no place to secure the excess.

I solved this problem by cutting off several inches; still leaving enough collar to accommodate my larger dog’s neck. I highly recommend this product.

Wow, I am so surprised I didn’t buy this earlier. I have a very energetic 1yr Purebred male German Shepherd. He doesn’t have a bad habit of barking all the time but whenever he sees another dog, he goes crazy.

I have only used this twice now, on level 1, and he will not bark when he wears the collar. This is the best tool that I have found to really cause your dog to actually THINK about what he or she is doing.

I can try to calm him down all I like with no collar, but I am not a robot so therefore the likely hood of myself being completely consistent every single time I have to correct him is slim. He is trained, overall very kind.

But I am so glad I have finally found a solution to this problem. Thank you!! He won’t need to wear it every single day, but having the ability to come back to the collar for any extra reinforcement in the future is awesome.

Did the job My neighbours told me that my staffy would bark “uncontrollably” when we weren’t home. She would rarely bark when we were home, usually only if something unusual was happening on the other side of the fence, so we weren’t previously aware that we had a problem.

We bought the DOGTRA YS300 but were a little apprehensive, we didn’t want to hurt her. We tried it first on the vibrate only setting and watched secretly after pretending to leave. We saw her hesitate when she felt the vibration but then go on barking.

We tested the first level of stimulation (interestingly called Level 2) on ourselves and the kids ;P to ensure it wouldn’t cause her pain. It was an unpleasant sensation but not painful (not “ouch”, more “oh”).

We again pretended to leave and saw her bark once, flinch, then stop barking. She tried it a couple more times then not again. I’ve now noticed that while she’ll still run out to investigate an unusual sound, she won’t bark at it (this is while we’re home without the collar on) and I’ve had no more complaints from the neighbours.

The battery lasts well I’ve only charged it once and we’re still going months later. The dog will happily let me put it on her as long as there is a good treat on offer.

Honestly, I was at my wits end. My toy poodle had two behaviourists out. He was on every sort of medication to help with his barking – every long lasting treat – you name it, we did it. Except this. In my mind I was convinced this was awful.

It’s true, amazing customer service! I called before I bought my collar and the gentleman I spoke with was very generous with his time and information. Made me feel much better about using the bark collar which I had avoided for so long.

I didn’t know I had a problem till I received a complaint letter. My dogs don’t bark when I’m home but I found out they bark even though my husband works from home. I bought 1 collar to share amongst my 3 Dachshunds and 1 Pomeranian to see how it worked.

They have different times and triggers for barking. None of them seem to mind wearing it. It’s stopped the barking while we’re at home. It’s reduced the barking when we’re both out (only 2 days so far) so we’re still working on that.

The bark counter function is genius as I can gauge its effectiveness. Battery life is excellent, haven’t charged it since the first time. Very happy and will be getting another one.

I highly recommend this collar for people who have tried other deterrents, without success, like I had. Most importantly it does not appear to distress my dog at all, while it stops his problem barking.

This is the one for us. I wish I had purchased the BT-7 BarkCollar BT-7 in the first place! Spending the extra money and doing your research is worth it! Our Labrador is now calm and happy. She only barks to alert us to an intruder or a perceived danger.

Prior to purchasing this collar. We noticed a sudden change in her behaviour when we moved house. 5am pedestrians and dog walkers and foxes passing by would set her off and we’d often have to get out of bed to give positive reinforcement or bring her inside.

In the beginning, I purchased the Petsafe Basic Bark Control Collar – PBC19-10765. It came with free Replacement Batteries and I purchased an extra pack to save on future postage. Initially, our Labrador responded quickly and barking reduced, however, I don’t believe that was the correct unit for our girl.

Her irritability and persistent barking returned to full on annoyance after about four weeks. We replaced the first two complementary batteries, every 4-6 weeks and by August, I purchased 2 replacement Petsafe Red Nylon Straps, as they deteriorate and become too loose.

After months of persevering, I returned to Bark Control website to do some further research. In October, purchased The BarkCollar by DogWatch – No Bark Trainer BT-7 and I wish I had done this in the first place!.

My dog responded so well to this product!!!! Before it, I could no longer walk her without her barking at big, noisy vehicles and naturally at any dog within her visibility. Now she wears the collar when we walk, and it seems like she thinks about barking for a second when she sees these triggers then doesn’t, which I reward with a tiny treat.

Occasionally she will bark once then stop. There still are a couple of dogs that she barks at regardless of what the collar is doing, but 95% of the time it works perfectly. When I leave my apartment, I hang it on the inside of the door so that she doesn’t bark at the door as she used to do constantly anytime I left, even when I’d just go down the hall to dispose of garbage.

This collar worked so great that we bought a second one for our female German shorthaired pointer. She had a horrible habit of barking at every person that walked by when we are outside. We did have to turn the shock mode on but after a few days we only use the beep/vibration mode.

Love this collar!!! My Deer Head Chihuahua was a barking aggressive nightmare before this collar. She was afraid and distrustful of everything and everyone. When my sister came to visit I put the collar on her, she barked twice and calmed down.

Yea!! So I took it off of her and told her she was a very good girl. After 2 days of off and on with the collar and praise she was sitting in my sister’s lap and loving her. I recommend you do not leave it on if they stop barking.

Praise them and only put it back on when they misbehave. That way it works great as a training tool. Love this collar!!!!!.

This works great on my Pomeranian. I needed something to keep him from running into the road, onto the school bus with my kids, or into the neighbors yards. I don’t even have to use the shock setting, the vibrate setting on 80-100 works wonders.

He now comes when I call him without me having to use it. The only negative thing about this collar is that you have to pair it every time you recharge it, and one time I forgot. Definitely worth the money.

Petey, my dog (of course) likes to walk out back with me without a leash. Plus, it’s a pain following him around with a short leash, because wherever he goes, I have to go too. Lately, however, he has become more willful than I can tolerate.

He will go into neighbors’ yards, or out into the street. I also have an illegal pit bull living next door (I like pits, but not in a tiny house shut up all day and only taken outside to poo). Just using this thing once made Petey begin minding me again.

I tested the vibrate on shock on myself, just to make sure I wouldn’t hurt him. Then I charged it up and took him out. He got his snoot stuck in a sniff and wouldn’t move. I tried low vibrate, no, he ignored it.

I tried medium and then full vibrate, no. Tried it on what I thought against my skin was extremely mild shock. He screeched and jumped 3 feet nose up straight upwards. After that, I turned my shock down from 30 to 5, and haven’t had to use it again.

He responds to vibrate at about level 30. Caveats: You need to charge this thing up about every third time or fourth time you charge your phone. Luckily that’s quick and easy, since I can charge the collar and the controller from the same cord.

Also, the buttons are in terrible positions. The mode and signal buttons need to be switched. If he was heading toward the road in a hurry, I’d have no time to find the signal button except that I keep my finger on it in my pocket.

Finally, no matter how fun these things look on TV, never shock your dog for fun or as a punishment, and always accompany a shock or vibrate with a voice command. It took only two trips outside for him to learn to listen and obey when he goes out of bounds.

I purchased this several months ago to train a new Bichon pup we got. The pup was bad about running off to the neighbors and would not listen when I called him back, but rather just looked at me and kept going.

For his safety’s sake this could not be allowed to continue. I began looking for a training collar. The local stores were very expensive, over $100 for the least expensive one. I thought I’d take a chance on this collar.

I liked the fact that it gave me three options, sound, vibrate and shock. Well, my dog listens VERY well to me now. I never have to call him twice. He responded so well to the “sound” and “vibrate” feature that I have NEVER had to use the shock.

Nice to know it’s there if needed, but each behavior I have wanted to “adjust” I have only had to use the collar one time! I took him out on a lead and gave him a little room and called him and when he did not respond instantly, I gave him the “sound” treatment.

He jumped like he was scared and I used the lead to direct him toward me. I praised him for coming to me and gave him a treat and that was that. First time he headed for the neighbors, who have two dogs, I called him he looked at me and then started to continue, I hit the button, and he made a bee-line back to me.

Another treat and some praise and it was in the bag, he has always come to me on the first call after that. I have used the “vibrate” feature only one time and that was when he was out in the yard a lone and started to wonder off the property.

I was in the house and “buzzed” him, he stopped in his tracks and returned back into our yard and doesn’t show any interest in wondering off again. Again, I said it is very pet friendly because I have not ever shocked him.

Haven’t had to. Fantastic, works great and I would purchase another in a heart beat.

Have been using this collar for almost 2 weeks now. We have it set at level 4. It allows are dog to bark a few times but after excessive bark it realizes a long beeping sound and then vibrates. Saw effects immediately.

Dog stopped barking after hearing sound tried barking again. Took less than a day for him to catch on. We only keep it on him a few hours at a time and while he still initially azbark at people the moment the collar turns on the barking will cease.

Only down side is he still barks excessively if th collar is not on. Hoping over time this will lessen as well. Definitely worth the investment if you have a dog that continously barks non stop at the sight of everything.

I have a Great Pyrenees who barks at everything. She loves to be outside at night. When she barks, I immediately have to get her so she doesn’t keep all the neighbors up or wake them up. I got a new next door neighbor who told me to make her stop barking after 8:00 pm at till at least 9:00 am so he could sleep “or else”.

I was desperate to get something other than a shock collar because I do believe he will harm my dog. All the dogs in the neighborhood bark but he is the only one without a dog. It’s not like I let her bark for 5 or 10 minutes at 3 am either.

First peep at night and I bring her in. I got the collar, charged it and started using it 3 days ago. After the first 2 or 3 times of putting the collar on her, she only barked once or twice at the most! I only put it on her when I let her out at night after 8 now.

During the day, I just put it on my patio table where she can see it. I can’t recommend this collar enough! Best part, no more threats from a ugly neighbor.

I bought this for my mom’s super naughty dog. She barks at everyone, all the time, no matter whether she knows them or not. Mailman especially. This has been a gentle way to correct her so that she lessens the barking.

It also seems to be very comfortable on her, she doesn’t try to remove it. And it’s easy to put on and adjustable, which was an important feature as she will get much bigger! Overall great value!.

With the help from a Bark Control friendly staffer, I actually swapped to this collar from the Sportdog collar (which was absolutely brilliant also until my dachshund decided howling was his new favourite pastime).

This collar is a lot more sensitive to howling and on the high setting will pick up whining also. I loved the sportdog display better, but this one is easy to set up once you read instructions, and there’s also a YouTube video to help.

The static seems quite strong so we leave on lowest setting. And on Medium Sensitivity Function. My mini is 6. 5kg, the collar is a little bulky (most are) but we only have it on him once or twice a week.

This with positive reinforcement training is working well. He’s less stressed, and not getting into a barking frenzy when we leave the house now, which makes me less stressed too as the neighbours had mentioned it nicely ;).

He will now just lay down and wait patiently. A few little barks here n there, but it’s only been a couple of weeks. We are working on this separation anxiety with desensitisation training also with success, but the collar just helps when we can’t be there.

This company is helpful, friendly and understanding, great quality products, and return/replace policy is excellent.

I bought this hoping it would be an “automatic†alternative to needing to use our e-collar to stop nuisance barking. We’ve found it very hard to adjust the collar to get consistent and appropriate response for barking.

Adjustment for both sensitivity and feedback are difficult to get right. Our dog refused to go down our steps after wearing this collar for a short time because it was activating when he ran down the stairs.

It was traumatic for him. We have pretty much given up on the collar and are using the e-collar. It’s a well made, quality product, but it’s difficult to get it to function in real world use. Don’t waste your money on this product, get a real e-collar with a remote instead.

The SBC-10 performs as advertised. It is quick to recharge and maintains charge surprisingly well. It is VERY effective, and WILL end the habitual barking. I have 3 beagles housed in outdoor kennels, that had developed a habit of persistent barking.

The SBC-10 ended the behavior immediately. Correct color adjustment is crucial. I very much recommend using the ‘user select’ mode, and in the minimal stimulation setting, as it is more than enough stimulation for effectiveness.

Although the description sounds less severe, I feel that the ‘progressive stimulation’ mode only creates inconsistency in training principle. My previous experience with e-collars was in stopping hunting dogs from running deer.

I found that to be quite simple, effective, and straightforward. Using the SBC-10 is quite different in that it is not as straightforward for the dog, in that since the stimulation is likely to produce barking in reaction, and that a chain of bark/stimualtion, bark/stimulation is likely to occur, and takes MUCH longer for the dogs to learn to avoid the pattern.

A mode level low enough to avoid the reaction barking, and high enough to stop the voluntary barking is the goal. Using an ordinary e-collar to break dogs off deer of course does not stimulate the dog to a reaction bark, but is not useful for bark control.

Tried others before finding this model. Others had the strange problem of correcting the dog when it wasn’t barking. Wasn’t going to put up with that. This never happens with this model. It also won’t go off if our other dog barks right next to her.

Important note- because our dog is medium sized (with a large bark) and fairly easily discouraged from barking this worked great. When she tries to bark (rarely now) the first mild correction is enough to stop her from continuing.

If there’s something that really scares her or alarms her (this has only happened once so far) she will bark up till about 5-6 then stop and wait 30 seconds then start again. So your experience may vary and the more expensive programmable model might work better.

FYI- first battery lasted 5-6 weeks and that was during her learning phase so lots more barks than now.

So I had only just received this product and begun introducing it to my cats. They are full grown, 10+ pounds each, and my goal was to correct a recent behavior where they have been using the couch to scratch.

In terms of introducing, I mean placing the collar on them one at a time for them to wear for a period just to get used to its presence. Obviously they were not fans. Unfortunately, the collar itself is just a plastic type band with equidistant holes for placement of the actual unit.

As I was taking it off one of my cats after his introductory wear period, he was anxious and “jerked” as I was unfastening the collar. This resulted in the collar actually TIGHTENING to the point it was choking him (really choking).

Because of the hole placement on the collar, the latch part ended up so close to the unit that there was no room to undo the collar. I was in full panic mode at this point as my buddy was absolutely choking.

I had no room to get that collar to loosen and unfasten. This all happened so quick but there was nothing I could do to get that collar off. I had zero alternative but to pick him up and rush to get a pair of scissors to cut the collar off.

I’m not one to write poor reviews – truth is, I have no idea how well or not the unit itself works because all I got to do was introduce it to my two buddies in terms of just wearing it; this being the first time they’ve had a collar (indoor cats).

I know the sound and vibration worked for sure, as I tested those functions before I even put it on the collar itself. Can’t say how much of a deterrent it would be, as the opportunity did not present during the brief windows I had it on each.

As for shock – no clue – hoped it would never get there anyway. Regardless, and perhaps I didn’t do a great job of explaining above – but the collar should have a designated space where the unit attaches, and there should not be holes immediately adjacent to that position.

But because it is just one continuous strap of holes, the unit itself will always be immediately positioned closely to the next holes. And if something happens like it did to me and my bud, it’s going to be choking them and absent cutting it off, there was absolutely NO way of getting that undone.

Bad luck? Perhaps. But I wouldn’t take the chance again. Collar design needs fixed. I would not recommend this unless that gets fixed. It was pretty upsetting for both me and my cat for sure. He was legit choking.

I was hopeful from all the positive reviews but I experienced several issues with this one. 1. When we got it and charged it up we couldnt get it to trigger. Tried it again a few days later just in case and it started working so we tried it in both modes and our dog quickly figured out how to cheat the system to mess with the timing on the triggers.

2. After a few days he became mostly unbothered by it. For context he’s a 60 lb mix with short fur and obsessive barking. 3. We noticed our other dogs would set it off from their barking even if he wasnt barking or moving.

4. It would also go off if he just shook his head but no noise. This was with either sensitivity level. 5. Final issue was when the battery died and I put it on the charger, once it was fully charged it no longer powered back on.

The screen would light up when it was plugged in to show the battery level and charging animation but the touch screen power button refused to work. I followed all the troubleshooting in the guide it came with and on the manufacturers website to no avail.

Chewy refunded this purchase. I dont know if this was a lemon or a bad product but I’m not willing to continue to find out with this brand or other rebrands of the same product. Hopefully others have had better luck than I did.

I have 3 little dogs inside. We have had all 3 since babies. Two of them are 8 years old and one is 5 years old. The barking has gotten so out of control it was ear piercing. They had gotten to the point when the wind blew, literally if it hit the door a little, they would bark for hours and sharp ear piercing barking.

One trying to out do the other. They would get so high pitched it was impossible to get deliveries anymore. I didn’t want to buy three if it didn’t work. I bought one and put on the one that barked the most first.

Day one when she heard the beep and it vibrated one time that was all it took. The others quietly barked wondering why she wasn’t barking. The next day I put it on the another one. By the end of that day the barking had almost stopped.

No one can believe it. Everyone hated coming and leaving our house it had gotten so bad. I strongly suggest this collar!!! I’m buying another so I can train the two at one time. The third one completely quit after seeing those two get scared.

My border collie is bossy. That means barky. And does she bark! She drives everyone crazy and gets herself overly excited in the process so there is danger of her nipping. I’ve been telling her to shut up for 10 years.

Other collars, maybe three or four, and room devices have failed. This is not a shock collar. It tones and then it vibrates, I like that. It just distracts her and she knows it’s going to vibrate after only one day.

She barks to be let out. She barks to be let in. She barks for a treat and it’s gotten way out of hand. Tonight, after wearing the collar for one day, she waited quietly at the door to be let in. She stood quietly and waited for a treat.

She may bark a couple of times now and them but then she stops. i am praising her to the skies. Maybe we won’t get petitioned out of the neighborhood agter all! Maybe family and friends won’t mind visiting! High praise to this collar which has achieved the impossible! PS: Er, one must remember to charge the collar now and the.

I like how it is highly adjustable and easy to clean. you also plug it into a USB charger cord to charget it up. The charge lasts awhile too. And when it needs charged up again a yellow light blinks to tell u to charge it.

Very convient. Only problems I had with it was that it wouldn’t stay in the exact spot it needed to over the dogs voicebox. It was on not too tight and not to loose but my dog somehow got it to move to the side.

The spray that comes from it is a short strong burst of the fragrance. I used citronella first so then I could tell if it had worked right. The scent only last a few seconds in the air. There is also no fragrance scent thing too.

I think as far as how effective it is a hit or a miss. It does not go off with those low barks I noticed. Or the short little barks. Like the barks they do when they think they hear something but there is nothing.

Yeah didn’t work or my dog. It did work the few times she did a full on bark though. But I think she outsmarted it because she just wouldn’t do her loud powerful bark anymore and just quieter ones. And let’s just say if the little box thing isn’t exactly in the spot it needs to be it doesn’t work right.

We also had a few mishaps with it going off randomly when I was fixing it. Honestly my dog isn’ a Huge barker. But the older she gets she doe’s bark more than she used to at certain things. But she will she top barking with or without the spray collar.

Overall it is a decent product! It does work when it wants to work.

Good Bark Collar So I wanted to wait to try this on my pet for 2 weeks before I wrote a review for this bark Collar. So my dog Princess barks constantly when put outside to use the bathroom and I could never find a product that would stop her from barking at our 2 neighbors.

So I received this in the mail and put it on Princess right then. She felt comfortable in it which was nice. This bark collar stops her from barking and I am so thankful. The neighbors are very happy now I am sure that they do not hear barking.

This is good, safe, and not like them harmful shock collars that hurt your pets so that’s a plus! Would recommend to your dogs. It only puts out a mist if the dog barks and it is safe to use! I will be buying this again if I need to.

I also recommended to friends and my family with dogs.

I’ve never tried anything to keep our dogs from barking. At the beginning of the year we moved to a busy neighborhood and the barking is constant. It drives us crazy. I was all for a safe way to detur barking and happy to try this collar.

I did some trouble getting it to work. I ended up going to the company website and watched their videos. That was very helpful and I recommend doing that if you run into anything. The other issue I’ve had is that the collar keeps moving so unless it’s right under the dogs nose he doesn’t notice it.

I’ve tightened it as much as I am comfortable and feel my dog is comfortable. It took us both some learning but it is helping. As long as I make sure it hasn’t moved. I think over time he will stop barking at every little thing.

I would like to get one for our other dogs too. I would recommend it.

Oh my days – this has changed my life!! I have a one year old dog cross Yorkshire terrier/Lhasa apso. My lounge and bedroom windows are low to the ground and he would CONSTANTLY bark even at the wind!! If a person or animal passed by he would practically destroy my blinds.

Come evening time he would constantly run backwards and forwards to the back door barking to go out and he would jump round the garden bark, bark, bark just for barking’s sake!! Whenever I let him out, at any time he would bark like crazy for no reason at all.

If the doorbell rang he would go crazy barking like a mad dog! We have a neighbour over the road who’s dog lays on their windowsill and Ted (my dog) would go ballistic barking at it!! He now looks at this dog and all I get is a low grumble from him.

I was regretting having him and it really got me down. I decided to give this a go – HEAVEN!! After only three times of having it on he was a different dog. After just over a week I have the calmest dog EVER.

Absolutely NO barking when he’s looking out the window!! NO barking when I let him out the back door!! I purchased two of these as have two noisy schnauzers. One of the dogs is nervous so reacted quickly to the beeps and vibration as disliked it. The other just barks at everyone! So on wearing the collars, the nervous yappy one.

would make little noise but not dare bark. The older dog who barks at everyone, became silent – tried it on her in the garden and she became very quiet. So, on wearing to the park. wow. it was bliss, nice quiet walk.

Even off the lead they were quiet, but reminded quickly if a bark escaped 🙂 In the garden, I show them the collars which is usually enough. Would recommend trying as its really helped. Obviously every dog is different but I really expected the collars to fail as both so damn NOISY!!!! Worked for me, so very happy.

This collar really does work. Ive had a problem with my French Bulldog continuously barking when he is in the garden, he would bark at anything that flew over, birds, butterflies and even aeroplanes.

He would bark if he heard another dog or if my snobby neighbours sat in their garden talking or eating and talking to their dog but completely ignoring mine, all of my other neighbours love him to bits and talk to him over the fence.

Anyway Ive tried whistles and clickers and of course vocally training him with no joy, a very stubborn breed! But from the second I put the collar on him it has reduced his barking by at least 75% Its well made and doesnt hurt your dog at all, it fits well with a good amount of adjustment and it comes with 3 different colour inserts a battery and a spare battery! So all in all a great product that I would highly recommend to anyone that has a barking issue, I think it has calmed him down a bit too.

We are so happy with this dog collar. It works so well and we have 3 chihuahua dogs. I bought another dog collar for over $100 at Petco and it didn’t work. This one does shock the dogs but it’s just right.

They stopped barking and now I don’t have to feel guilty every time I see my neighbors. Best buy and so happy that this works. They yelp for a couple seconds from the shock but it’s not too bad and I don’t feel like it’s too much.

I totally recommend this product and have tried 2 other expensive brands. This is the one, even for small dogs. My chi’s are a little bigger, 7lbs each. Make sure it’s tight enough(not choking them but it does need to make contact), or it won’t work properly.

Don’t buy any other collar, this is the one, in my opinion. You need to take it off every night, just to give them a break and not to cause sores on their neck from irritation.

I was skeptical and not a fan of a “shock” collar. In less than 2 weeks our dog has stopped the nuisance barking. I’m not a skeptic anymore. We live on a farm where horses are boarded so there are “strangers” coming and going constantly.

The barking was constant. We used the collar according to the manufacturers instructions and in less than 2 weeks we have been able to discontinue using the collar. He will bark a couple of times to let us know someone is getting close to the house and then he stops.

It has been a huge relief for us as well as the horse boarders.

After much research I ordered this collar based on reviews from several different web-sites. The collar I recieved did not work. Did not work, as in it was defective and did not even pass the “self-test” as described in the instructions.

But as always with Walmart, I took it back with the receipt and they gave me my money back without any question. Thanks Walmart!.

Mine is made by the same people but that’s it. This one is NOT a shock collar. It’s made for small dogs or cats (5-15 lbs. ) Offers vibrate or sound mode with different strengths on each mode. I had ordered others that claimed to be for smaller dogs yet when I received them it was anything but.

This one works yet even this one is seriously too large. The collar that comes can be cut to fit even her size; yet the vibration box is still huge and just seems so uncomfortable on such a small animal.

Also it has prongs like a shock collar (to keep the box attached to the collar) that just seem uncomfortable. Either way I haven’t had this too long but it seems so be working for my fur baby. She has lost some of her hearing so I’m very happy that this works.

Also sooo much easier to use and set up than any of the others I had tried. very impressed. Even comes with a training book and detailed directions for the product.

This collar vibrates when it’s on the dog, that part is fine. But it come with a charging cord so you can recharge it an not have to use batteries. I have looked all over it and so have two of my friends, none of us found a place to plug in the charge cord.

There are also no batteries. I am getting ready to send it back.

Wow this collar! Best thing I’ve bought for the dogs. If you have a dog who barks at every little sound at home well worth it. It is a training device to get the dog use to not wanting to bark at everything.

Do not use when outside because that will take away from the dog being a dog.

So I never have liked the idea of shock collars, I was never willing to try them out before thinking it would hurt the dog badly. But after living in a household with dogs that turn towards aggression and bark and bite at you when they do something bad like hurting another animal or eating anything off the table or counters or the trash or just getting out of the house and causing havoc, I figured I would give a shock collar a try.

I have tried everything from CBD treats, to proper training classes, to vet prescription medicine for these dogs and nothing has worked this far. These dogs are just old, stubborn, and set in their ways.

So I was skeptical when I ordered this collar. But when I tried it the first time, it snapped some submission into the big one. He’s the most aggressive and violent so I set it to a low shock to test it and now he doesn’t bark for hours at his own reflection.

Now when he hears the sound of the collar he stops whatever wrong thing he is doing and comes and sits. I’ve never seen him do that before so I don’t need it on him very much for him to understand to not do that thing.

Considering it’s done something not even professionals can do I’m happy with it. The collar does a great job at sensing the barker or biter and does not shock if another one is next to him barking. On a side note it may have different effects for others so be careful with aggressive dogs with this.

Ours may have stopped hurting us but yours might be different.

I love this already and it only been a few days. I got specifically to keep my dogs from barking or trying to intimidate trick or treaters and it worked great. It honestly took 2 buzzes with the vibration setting and when the next set of kids come up they didn’t bark at all.

I’m sure it will take more than that and they are by means cured, but it’s really easy to use and I was very impressed with cut your collar to their size with the holes all around as well. I charged it up the night before and it stayed on for about 7 hours and was still showing 3/4 charged.

I bought this to make a silent alarm clock project (sleeping with a collar on is more comfortable than you’d think) I had a nice soft collar I wanted to use it with but its smaller than it looks, so it wouldn’t fit anything wider than the stick band which is quite narrow, I ended up 3d printing an adapter (will be uploading model to thingiverse) so now it fits and is quite comfortable, I will mainly be using the vibrate mode but the shock setting on 0-30 isn’t too unpleasant.

99 packs quite a punch so I wouldn’t recommend using it unless your dog is about tot run into traffic or some other emergency. the beep would be good for recall due to its long range, the vibrate good for a warning and shock for discipline, etc.

for anybody who hasn’t worn one, its more startling than painful. it causes the muscles in your neck to twitch at the same time as feels being lightly flicked with a rubber band but it doesn’t sting after it stops.

it has good battery life and USB charging. the side window has 3 leds, one green status led, and 2 white leds. the white ones can be activated by long pressing the light button on the remote, a short press will turn on the light on the remote, it has good light output and stays on for about 5 mins.

its like the dog equivalent of a head torch. while activeit flashes the green light about once every 8 seconds, but then it goes into a standby mode after about 5 mins, it turns the light off entirely but can still be woken by the remote.

it will take 1 or 2 button presses to wake it up before it will do anything. in this state it can sit in standby for about a week without charging. also, the waterproofing is good and the shock function is still effective even completely submerged.

(took it for a swim out of curiosity). I like the silicone tips as they’re conductive and soft but don’t damage the skin.

IPX7 Unit Review This collar has worked amazingly!!!! Just please make sure to add a additional hole between the holes if you need too because otherwise it will and can be too tight and cause damage.

We had to shave a small spot because my German Shepherds fur was too thick even for the long prongs to get through. It’s made his recall on leashless walks almost flawless! The max we have had to use shock wise was 40 and that was to work on when he dug out in the yard or put his nose in the trash as a deterrent because a puppy gung-ho on something’s hard to distract.

Otherwise a simply 5 to 10 will do with the everyday stuff. Even when he’s really distracted by another dog person or animal a 10 usually gets him to come no problem. My unit came with 2 collar types, 1 unit, 1 remote, 1 set of short bits, 1 set of long bits, charger, conductive rubber covers for bits, and a small wrist lanyard for the remote.

The unit and remote work amazing for me!!! I do wish the beep was louder but otherwise it’s great. No faultiness so far and water resistant like it advertises. Works at an amazing distance and through walls.

I got this just for the vibe and beep function. I don’t even put in the shock nubs, I use it for slight corrections before they commit to something they shouldn’t. The unit itself is a bit large for dogs under 30lbs, I use it on a 33 lb corgi and a 70 lb lab mix.

Both seem to handle the weight of the unit just fine. They shake a bit because of the size but not too much, the remote and collar recharge with a split cable, they seem to recharge well and battery life for just vibrate and beep function is long lasting.

I have only recharged it once in a month. Only problem I have with the unit so far is the inability to tell if the unit is on or not, there is no indication on the remote if the collar is on or not and the led light of the collar does not light to show status, most times I need to beep the remote to tell if the collar is on or not.

Other than that it serves it’s purpose well with good range tested to 200 ft I can’t say what the battery life would be with shock enabled but I would say well worth the $25.

I’ve ordered two of these PetDiary collars and neither have worked – as in they won’t trigger at all. I’ve thoroughly read the instructions, fully charged, screen is fine, tried setting it between “S” and “G”.

my dog barks up a storm wearing it and it has NEVER registered even once, let alone provide the consistent correction that is needed for training. I’ve held both collars against my own neck and barked as well as the shouting “woof” while shaking it as recommended.

Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Luckily Chewy’s customer service has been good about refunding me but based on my two attempts I say this collar is worthless and PetDiary should consider some level of quality assurance to verify operation before sending out as it’s still a waste of my time to fight with the thing before deciding it must be faulty and requesting a refund.

I this collar so much!! It has changed our lives. Completely altered my dog’s pattern of barking at cars passing the house. She’s in a fenced in yard but every car that went by she had to bark at. Now all is calm.

Also, the rechargeable battery lasts for days and is so much better than the ineffectual one I had before. I’m pleased to say this collar had an immediate effect. Problem solved, now she can be let out and I can focus on work.
