20 Best Nipple Balm For Breastfeeding (2023 Updated)

I’ve bought this twice, once with my first baby and once with my second baby. I honestly think the only reason I bought this twice was because it was the only thing like it on the market. Overall, it is OK, but I would not buy it again for what I used it for.

The positives are that its made specifically to fit inside your bra around your nipple and its soft when inside the little fabric that comes with it. I also like that you can use it for hot/cold. However, I always used it warm to help with milk ducts and have found that it does not get warm enough and if you do heat it slightly longer than supposed to, to make it warm, it smells like burnt plastic and you swear the beads will melt right out of the top plastic layer.

Product is affordable, but I think they should make it with different materials than the thin plastic its made with.

These are a godsend and wish I used them sooner! I started using them about a month into EBF. I used the cold therapy after a couple nights of engorgement issues which helped. I then tried using them for heat therapy for both potential clogged ducts and easier pumping – I used for 20 mins prior to a feed, and it worked out ALL of my hard spots in one use.

Also took about 5-7 minutes off my pump time when using them 5 mins prior to pumping and then wrapped around the flanges during pumping. Love them, the warmth feels amazing on sore breasts! Check your wattage in your microwave before use, directions are included on the product itself- you can always add more time if needed.

*only improvement could be making larger sizes. I have pretty large breasts and have to keep moving them around to cover the entire surface area.

These worked out so well! I was trying to use heat up rice packs I already had around the house but they were too bulky and popping my breast pump flanges off constantly! These were so small and fit perfectly where they needed to and I definitely noticed a difference in supply when heating while pumping vs not! The only thing with them being so small and flat, they don’t have much there to hold the heat too long.

Long enough for half my pump but I’d have to send my husband to reheat often. Overall, they were small, convenient and helped a lot! Cost wasn’t bad as they are reusable too.

Very lovely soothing balm for just about anything that ails the skin. You don’t need to be a baby to benefit from this. I have put it on some nasty mosquito bites and it helps them heal. It also has soothed an itchy rash.

Motherlove is a very good brand made from quality ingredients.

I use this balm on just about anything, but here lately my baby caught HFMD and I used this balm on his spots. Not saying it’s a cure all but it definitely seems to help not only soothe but heal. Regardless, I give this stuff 5 stars.

This balm is amazing! I recently purchased a second jar. My daughter had a diaper rash and it cleared it within a couple days. You don’t need a lot, maybe a little pea size.

I’m reviewing the diaper rash cream spray but it’s not listed amongst the many other products from this line. What I love about it is that this is a spray so no mess. The spray also evenly distributes the product.

The cream is thick and white but easy to wipe off for the next diaper change with no residue. No diaper rash or reaction to my baby’s sensitive skin. I do wish the price was lower. Typically runs around $13 which is on the high side comparatively which is my only reason for 4 stars.

I liked this belly balm. It was a nice consistency that went on smoothly, without chunks or little pieces you have to “work in”. It doesn’t smell like much of anything, which I think is a good thing while pregnant.

I put on a thick layer overnight (belly and sides where I had a lot of itching). While it looks greasy on your belly, I did not have any issues w staining on clothes or sheets. It definitely helped my skin stay hydrated and it was not itchy while I slept.

When I woke up, my skin was still hydrated. I did not get any stretch marks on my growing belly or sides. I took off a star bc I went through a jar per month and that was a little pricey. Maybe I used too much, but I wanted to do my best to avoid stretch marks.

After my first c-section I followed doctors orders and I didn’t use anything. My scar healed fine, but being a sensitive area (surgical incision and stretch marks) there were painful and uncomfortable sensations when anything touched the skin in that area.

I bought this for after my second c-section. I waited to use it until after two had past and the everything was scabbed over nicely. It’s made a huge difference. It’s not a miracle cream. I can still see a scar and some stretch marks, but I’d buy it again if only because it help the skin in a sensitive area heal and feel more normal (no pain sensations).

Helps a bunch with chafing and the cracks. The smell is nice and helps calm your heat and swelling with the cool effects the butter has at first application. It is a great price for a product that works.

This was recommended by a friend, but I didn’t think it was going to be much different than Vaseline. Boy was I wrong. This stuff is AMAZING! It gives IMMEDIATE relief and lasts forever. The best part is that you don’t need to use a lot at all! My nipples are so sore but as soon as I put this on it somehow goes away! The weird thing is that t doesn’t just take away the surface pain it clears some of the “Aching” too.

I ordered this at the start of my 3rd trimester, wanted to have an all natural birth with little to no tearing (hopefully, I know lol) I started applying this in the weeks before my due date to keep that area hydrated and I also used it for doing perineal massages.

My first baby slid out within 4 hours and I had just a slight tear. Started applying this a few weeks after birth (once I was comfortable enough to start feeling around down there) and the cooling hydration is next level.

This balm is so soothing I never want to stop using it. I tried dermaplast in the hospital because that’s what they provided, and not only did it seem odd to be aerosoling down there but I didn’t really feel like it did much to relieve symptoms.

I purchased this product after breastfeeding for approx 1 week for the very first time. My baby and I were still getting used to things and becoming comfortable with feedings and my nipples were quite sore/tender.

A friend recommended this product so I figured I’d give it a try. I tried this product quite a few times and personally felt like it did nothing. It is a very thick consistency and I worried about it getting on my clothes and staining because it is greasy.

I do still use this product once in a while to moisturize but I’m not 100% sold on the product.

This lanolin is truly the bees knees! I’ve had three children over the span of 11 years and breastfed all three. So many lanolin products I tried were thick and sticky, which was the worst. Uncomfortable to apply and impossible to clean off.

Medela lanolin is so gentle to apply and easily wipes off before feeding (not necessary, supposedly, but is my preference). I give this at every baby shower and highly recommend.

USE: peel the gel pads off the plastic liner. gel pads stick to your skindry nipple, you have to peel them off and lightly scrub the area with warm water after each use. then reapply gel pad to liner for storage between uses.

PROBLEMS with that: 1. the liner needs to be slightly bigger then the gel pad for easier re-attachment. currently the liner is the same size and getting the liner on exactly is not easy. 2. you have to peel a sticky object off an already sore area.

nipples are still sore, so yes let’s peel something off of them, great idea. 3. you have to lightly wash the nipples after each use. again, nipples still sore, so of course I want to lightly wash/scrub them with warm water.

that wont irritate them at all. ADVANTAGES: the gel pads do help somewhat to relieve soreness and irritation while being used. (but not enough to justify the irritation of taking them off and cleaning the nipples after use) OVERALL: I do not recommend.

for me better relief was found with lanolin, cold/warm packs, and pumping vs direct feeding.

Pour ma part je l’ai utilisée en complément de l’huile anti-vergétures maternité de chez Weleda et des coquillages d’allaitement pour les premiers mois d’allaitement (ce qui apaise davantage et evite les frottements contre les coussinets d’allaitement ou les vêtements).

Pommade essentielle si on veut éviter les crevasses et autres désagréments de mise en route d’allaitement ! Elle peut se garder au sein au moment de l’allaitement, donne un sentiment de soulagement au moment de l’emploi, et a bien fonctionné pour moi.

Je recommande, après chaque tétée. Par contre, la texture fort grasse la rend un rien collante contre les textiles.

Facile à appliqué, sans odeur dérangeante, ne demande pas de rincer avant la tétée. réel effet sur les irritations. Le prix peut sembler élever pour un si petit tube mais les doses appliquées sont si petite qu’on ne le voit pas se vider ! Je l’ai utilisé pour mon premier enfant et vient de le commander à l’avance en attendant le second ;).

This was gifted to me at my baby shower. I used it from end of 2nd trimester until the day I gave birth. This moisturiser felt good on the skin, stopped the stretchy itchy feeling and absorbed well in to the skin.

I liked the smell which I thought was quite neutral especially as I had HG so most smells were abhorrent to me. I have been using it post partum on the skin around my C Section scar which had been getting tight and dry.

However this product alleviated this. I’m a year post partum and never had any stretch marks. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!.

I would rate this 5 stars, 10 times over! This balm was fantastic and I started applying it at the very start of my pregnancy. The earlier the better!!! I have come away with little stretch marks (none whilst actually pregnant).

Unfortunately, the few I have was post pregnancy, where it would have been really helpful if NYR made perhaps more clearer on their label to continue use of the product after birth for say, ‘X’ amount of time.

My marks appeared after birth but still I am very lucky with how few there are on the tummy, I just should of perhaps applied the product on my thighs as well. One other recommendation to anyone using the product is to wear a vest because of the wax, the grease stains clothes, especially white tops so one way to avoid it is by adding an extra layer that you don’t mind staining.

I reload handgun ammunition for use in training and sports shooting. I take spent brass cases and tumble them with a selected media to clean the cases prior to reloading. Reloading is a mechanical operation where the cases are first resized in a hydraulic press and it is in this step that we use tiny amounts of Lanoline Pure Emollient Oil by Home Health to lubricate the outside of the cases to minimize the resistance of the cases in the press.

The case lubricant as it is called is pure lanolin dispersed in a solvent, usually isopropanol, and sprayed on the cases prior to resizing. VOILA! The process is faster and easier because of your lanolin.

Lanolin is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin! You can add this to you favorite lotion or olive oil so it’s not so sticky , it’s a great natural barrier! Love this product!

I love these! With 30 seconds in the microwave, they heat evenly to a very comforting temperature, and unlike gel packs I had tried, these do not burn, and they conform to the breast shape really comfortably.

I use them before/during/after pumping, they feel great! I’ve bought them for 2 other new moms already also!.

I feel a lot better using these than the first ones I bought that had gel beads made from who knows what. I ordered a boob box and got these inside and they are AWESOME.
