Excellent and prompt service and a fair price. Will use you again and recommend. The product does exactly what I needed. I had previously had the Celestron 100, but broke it. In looking for a replacement I realised that I had never been able to get above 60 magnification due to haze or my not having a top-of-range tripod (which would be too heavy for me).
This smaller lighter model, therefore, does the job just as well, and is lighter to carry — and can even be hand-held ot rested on fence post. So good product and good service.
Having this Great Tripod is very easy to use I have both the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and the Orion GoScope III Telescope I attach the quick release plate that came with the Tripod to my Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope and I bought from Celestron an extra quick release plate to attach on the Orion GoScope III Telescope both work great on the Tripod.
In my opinion the Celestron Hummingbird Fast Action Pan / Tilt Head Tripod is excellent and fantastic. It’s one of the Best and Excellent Tripod to use with my Telescopes.

I realize for the money it was not going to be great, but I just needed a pocket glass for hunting, that if it got busted up–no big loss. However, the focal adjustment is useless. Can’t get it sharp and over 150 yards its fuzzy.
Like I said for the money I took a chance and its not what I need.

Went birding today and was able to do a back to back comparison between the Celestron and an 80mm Swarovski. Now that’s not a fair comparison coz the Celestron in a bigger heavier scope but on the other hand the Swarovski does cost more than twice as much.
So visually which was better? Smaller high end or bigger mid range quality? Well it was not even close! Celestron for the win. Day and night brighter and just as crisp. (both scopes were focused on two bald eagles in a tree at 400 yds) The build quality on the Celestron is nice but not as nice as the Swarovski and the Celestron IS bigger and heavier but in my opinion, carrying a scope and a tripod is a pain so what’s an extra pound? And if you are going to park it in one place, it’s a no brainer unless you want to drop $3k on a 115mm Swarovski which I suspect is even better.
A well built spotting scope with clear optics, a sturdy tripod mounting plate and a sensible carry case. The focussing system works well and the scope can be rotated on its tripod mounting so the angled eyepiece can be used from above, below, left or right.
For me, despite the 100mm objective lens, the magnification (stated as 22-67x) doesn’t get beyond about 34x before the light (and thus clarity) drops off. As you might expect, this is a bulky & heavy item.
I bought an adapter ring to attach my Nikon D750 SLR. All together this set-up gets very heavy and a sturdy tripod is essential. I’ve been slightly disappointed by the image quality I get “digiscoping” with the SLR.
The vignetting is significant but the major problem is blurring/distortion across all but the very centre of the image. It has been interesting to see how important the DSLR lenses are in minimising distortion and surprising to see that my mobile phone takes a better picture through the spotting scope eyepiece.
That’s not to dismiss the scope which is a very capable, if rather pricey, gadget.
I bought four scopes: one low price of the medium price range, one in the high in the medium price range and two low in the high price range. Yes, to be fair, I put this guy against the Nikon Monarch 82mm, the Kowa TSN-773 77mm and the Kowa TSN-883 88mm.
Two stars for the ability to see distant objects and the included case (I did not unpackage). Difficult to focus, stiff focusing. Not much light coming in to the eye. H E A V Y. I’m going to spend at least $500 more for better optics (ED vs, HD), less weight and easier focusing.
Tomorrow, with hope, it will be a typical PNW low light day and I can get out to compare the other scopes.

Product Features Ideal for outdoor activities, golf, concerts, sporting events, and more! Comes with carrying case and attachment lanyard 16x52mm magnification 22 degree view angle Product Pictures.
This Monocular is of outstanding quality. The images are sharp, clear and easily captured with good field of view. One exceptional feature is this monocular’s ability to focus on very close objects as near as 5 feet away.
This beats the close focus capabilities of monoculars and binoculars costing many times more and makes the Stealth Angel 16×52 monocular an excellent choice for the birding and butterfly hobbyists and anyone with a bird feeder close to their window.
The construction is solid, lightweight and easy to handle. The monocular arrived promptly and I am very pleased with both the product and the service. Although I wear glasses for distance vision I was easily able to focus and view clear crisp images without them.
I highly recommend this 16×52 Stealth Angel monocular and the Stealth Angel Company provided good service and prompt delivery.
In the evenings after the activities of the day, I like to sit on my patio with a cold Rolling Rock and watch for the hummingbirds to show at the feeder and castilleja flowers. This scope is perfect for a clear view of the little darlings clearly showing the bright markings which otherwise seems like a mousy brown from the distance.
It’s also good for spotting the doggone deer that trespass and maraud my orchard. Recommend.
I’ve been looking for a spotting scope to use when target shooting, but couldn’t justify the high price of most shooting scopes. When I saw this scope on sale for just under $20, I decided to give it a try, even though, at that price, my expectations weren’t high.
Now that I have received the scope, I am pleasantly surprised. No, it won’t outperform a $500-1000 spotting scope, but for it’s price range, it seems to work reasonably well. The optics are clear, and the focus ring is smooth and linear.
The only gripe I have is that the eye relief doesn’t seem to be quite right: you have to hold the scope just barely off your face to get the proper image. Not a big deal at the price.
Whether your interest is in sports, bird watching, wildlife, hunting or casual astronomy these Hawke Sport Optics Endurance ED 16-48×68 Angled Spotting Scopes are sure to provide the performance you demand for years to come.
TheHawke Sport Optics Endurance 16-48×68 Angled Spotting Scope w/ Multi-Coated Optics features a twist-up eyecup standard on the zoom eyepiece and a dual focus knob system. The scope is fitted with an adjustable mounting foot that may be rotated to any position in a range of about 180 degrees to make it more convenient and comfortable to use.
The twist-out sunshade is designed to block unwanted glare and other reflections that can spoil the viewing image. Constructed using a high stability magnesium alloy body, these Hawke Sport Optics Endurance 16-48×68 Angled Spotting Scopes are rugged enough to withstand extensive travel use.
Used on two backpacking hunts in the southwest mountains this year, where I want glass performance but lightweight. I was impressed, just like I have been with my Hawke Frontier FFP 4-14x scope which is feature packed, light(er) weight for category, with great glass.
Two quirks: when you spin the mag ring, topping out at 45x or bottoming at 15x, if you turn with additional pressure the whole ring mechanism continues to turn. Its odd and I wonder why it keeps rotating.
I always know when I hit the magnification boundaries, but the additional turning doesn’t seem to provide any functionality. Quirk #2 (being very critical here), the much appreciated protective cover is not super well designed in terms of access to the focus knobs.
The cover over the nobs requires some finagling to access to nobs quickly. Overall 5 stars for a reason. By way of background, I have high end rifle scopes (swarovski, steiner, leupold top level) but very little experience with high end spotters.
I have to believe this unit is an amazing value option, for those who don’t need highest end glass or mag range, and compromise a little on great glass and moderate mag range. So far I’m jazzed.
The scope is really well designed and constructed. All the touches feel of high quality. The snout extends, the twist-up eye cup reaches a plateau, locking it in the extended position. The mount is just about right on the balance-point.
Focus is very smooth, no need for gearing. The finish is rugged and scientific looking (if that’s a thing). The case is fiddly to put on and take off, but once it’s on, it opens up so you can use everything.
The view is crisp, clear and contrasty. Overall I can’t think of one bad thing about this one. Factoring in all the details with the price, it’s an absolutely incredible value. I always wanted to try a Hawke.
THE BEST START Anyone looking for equipment of proven quality right from the start will be delighted by the spotting scopes in the ATS/STS range. They offer all the features that you would look for in a spotting scope, including a large field of view for rapid target acquisition and tried-and-tested optics.
The (straight or angled) view can be adjusted to meet personal preferences for any hunting situation. SWAROclean STS 65 – 20-60x The STS 65 is a lightweight and handy spotting scope that offers high optical quality despite its compact dimensions.
Perfectly suited to long days outdoors, when every ounce/gram counts, its straight view is particularly beneficial to those who need to find moving targets quickly.
For it’s planned use (wildlife sightings and a few photos) an excellent choice. Have had Swarovski binoculars for 30 years and finally have a great scope. Just need some kinder weather to get out into Montana back country and use it.
One feature very important to me is the straight eyepiece with sighting guide to get on the object of interest quicker. Swarovski warranty is outstanding as well. Very pleased.
This scope I was expecting a lot from because their binoculars blow my mind every time I look through the EL’s. Really cant imagine a better view. I was surprised at the price of this scope, I really thought it would be a bit more if it appeared anything like the EL bins but I took it out for the day and was not impressed.
The view is not razor sharp like I expected. The brightness was nice but I was not wowed. I was testing the Kowa Prominar TSN-553 next to it and I found the Kowa had a much easier and clearer view but of course not as bright.
With this scope you are getting a little more brightness of course and a lot more weight which can be helpful on windy days. The eyes piece is very comfortable to look through especially if you were glasses.
But I had some pretty high expectations. And was not impressed! I could not understand why the other Swarovski ATS-65 HD with 25-50x eyepiece was 200+ dollars more and the next day a birder came by with that exact scope and eyepiece and had a chance to looke through it.
The view was much nicer and sharper but not by much. I hope this helps you decide. I think for the size weight and price you could probably get a Vortex Razor 80mm much cheaper and get a comparable view of course but weight is a factor.
I have had a few views from the Vortex Razor 80 and was impressed unlike my surprising experience with the Swarovski ATS-65 HD 20-60x65mm. I could have gotten a faulty combo but I would be surprised based on Swarovski stellar reputation.
Swarovski ATS Angled 65mm Spotting Scope Body The ATS 65 HD has been a favorite of guides and hunters for years. At 48oz it offers the best optical performance/weight ratio of any 65mm scope on the market today.
Swarovision Technology offers unmatched clarity and brilliant colors across the entire field of view. The HD lenses and Swarobright coatings provide high contrast ultra sharp images you have to see to believe.
All wrapped up in a rugged rugged armor to protect your investment, and Swaroclean coating helps keep dust and dirt from sticking to your glass.
Take your BX-1 Rogue Compact into the field, to the game, and everywhere you want to get close to the action. The Porro prism design gives you clarity and brightness that never disappoints. Particularly in entry-level and intermediate class segments, the compact 8×25 porro prism can often better its more expensive 8×25 roof prism competition in terms of the viewing experience.
The roof prism models are a hair more compact, and can at times tuck in to a shirt pocket. But by any standard for daytime viewing, the Rogue 8×25 Compact’s a lovely general-use choice for those on the go without a need for a larger, brighter binocular meant for twilight.
Yes. This is a gift to myself. Yeeesss!! I tossed my decision between a pair of very much less expensive brand (the power was good, the glass not so), a much better pair of (Name brand withheld, but they were very good also) lower powered yet much-much nicer glass, and these Leupold 10×25 Rogue.
Of the three, hands down Leupold wins! Now granted these are not higher end bino’s. I got out my range finder, zapped out to easily 650yards down the street. Found a street name sign, am able to see the lettering of the street name very clearly, and as most street name signs will have even smaller print stating the county.
Now lets pretend a moment as if I didn’t already know that, I can still make out the small lettering. And I have 60+ old eyes! I had my mind almost made up for a diff. pair mentioned above, once I saw the clarity of these Leupold Rogue 10×25, plus the fantastic deal MidwayUSA had on them, all I could say is.
“Annnd. their mine!” Here is another plus I found: the small footprint of these Leupold will fit nice in my center console of my American made truck. Handy when I need-want them, yet small enough to stash away.
I can even put them in my back pocket, they don’t fit like my contoured and formed wallet, but they fit. Thanks MidwayUSA for the sweet deal. Thank you Leupold for a very good product straight out of the box.
I have had these binoculars for nearly a year and they are junk!! It is impossible to get the eye relief set to permit a person to see clearly. I am now closing one eye! That is the only way to see! I bought these because they no longer offer the Yosemite model.
Major mistake!!!! Save your money and buy a different brand.
The magnification and clarity are great. There are a few little things that detract from the overall quality though. The adjustable eyepieces are a bit of a hassle. Something fixed would be a better setup.
The strap and case are both a bit cheesy. They could have upped the quality on those just a bit for something labeled with the Leupold name. Overall I am pleased.
You can always have a quality optic close at hand with the Solo Monocular. This compact, easy-to-carry monocular delivers quality viewing for outdoor enthusiasts who wish to bring nature a bit closer.
And with the integral utility clip, it attaches to flat edged surfaces for quick external access. Fully multi-coated glass surfaces deliver bright images in a compact, lightweight, easy to handle unit.
Waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. From bowhunters to backpackers the Solo makes a great addition to any gear list.
Bright clear optic with a very comfortable feel not too small not too large. This monocular has a mil-dot ranging reticle, similar to a mil dot reticle rifle scope. It is a measuring tool, and is very useful, and it’s worth learning how to correctly use.
If you know the size or height of an object you are viewing, you can do easy math to determine the distance to the object. And vice versatile. If you have a mil dot scope, this is great to practice ranging with.
I had a pair of bushnell binoculars that cost about the same as this monocular. I lost them in the field right before black powder season and had to buy a replacement. I saw this monocular and decided it would be nice to have something smaller and all the vortex products I have bought in the past have been great.
This monocular does a very poor job gathering light, has pretty poor image quality, and a horrible eye relief. It definitely doesn’t stand up to the other vortex products I own. So, for the money you’re better off getting a set of bushnell binoculars for the same cost.
Feels quality. Clip seems sturdy. Optics are bright and clear. It did not fog up inside when I brought it in from sub freezing to room temp. The case is not junk, and the belt loop is heavy duty. Lots of purple chromatic issues in some high contrast situations, but it should not affect the function of the ranging reticle.
I found it hard to keep it steady even when leaning against a tree. I say this because if you have any hand shake or tremor already, you might want the one with a way to mount it on a monopod or tripod.
Or plan on using the clip to put it on something you are not touching, then look through it. It is difficult to obtain an accurate reading on the reticle when it is moving about. No provision for lens caps.
Overall, it is functional and does not require batteries!!.
Make sure you’re able to track and aim at moving targets from a great distance with the Killer Instinct MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1. 5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope. This scope fits most any crossbow, letting you have an advantage in any area.
The infrared crossbow scope has a durable metal case that’s resistant to impacts and weather with spring-loaded covers that protects the lenses until you’re ready to get the bead on that whitetail buck or pheasant.
The built-in Speed Ring allows you to adjust the scope for crossbows between 270 and 450 FPS. The red/blue illuminated reticle provides sharp contrast for accurate sighting in low-light conditions. Don’t go out hunting unprepared: let the Lumix Speedring 1.
5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope help you fire straight and true every time.
Nice scope. I keep reading in the reviews that it does not magnify or it’s blurry. It’s a varitable scope, not a high resolution scope. To clear up the image you need to turn the eye piece until you get a clear picture of your target.
To do that you need to slip off the rear lens cover first. Once you get it set at the varitable speed (your correct bow speed) it should be clear at all ranges. Took me about 2 hours to get it dialed in out to 40.
I am using a very common crossbow with a very common crossbolt: Barnett Whitetail Hunter with a 479 grn. Piledrive. I found that 340 is the perfect varitable speed to set this scope to for this combination.
That should have your first pin (being the triangle) dead on at 20 yards. Second pin being the next dot down being dead on at 30 and the third dot being dead on at 40. Not sure about any further out but it should fall into place all the way out with your varitable speed being set correctly.
I only take bow shots out to 40 so I’m really not that concerned with shots any further out. Hope this helps someone out.
After about 100 shots from sighting in and letting the kids practice a seal fell out and now the ocular lens rattles around. Extremely disappointed in the quality because of that. It didn’t get bumped or snagged on anything, it just came out.
Also the tiny screws that mount the windage and elevation knobs are loosening up. Otherwise I loved the scope. It’s clear and dead on accurate. I love the reticle. And of course the seal came out on opening day of crossbow season.
I bought this as a replacement for the same one that was damaged by an accident. They are not the best scope out there, but definitely good enough for the money to replace. Clarity is great, reticle works flawlessly.
Only complaint I personally have is when illuminated, the light causes glare on the scope that you can’t even see through on high power red setting and any power blue.
The iGen 20/20 Image Processor Monocular is a powerful infrared device that has the night vision capability you need. These Night Vision Products from iGen feature infrared intelligence which automatically adjusts to different levels of darkness for use at night and during the day.

It is a nice night vision monocular in general and worth its price. It shows images on a display screen and therefore it is a digital equipment and cannot be compared to military grade phosphor night vision devices.
It is not suitable for astronomy and particularly for astrophotography but it is good for terrestrial observations. Duracell batteries provide with a better performance. Attaching a VGA recorder is possible for capturing images and videos.
The Leupold Gold Ring 12-40x60mm HD Spotting Scope employs an Extra Low Dispersion Optical System to maximize color fidelity and contrast. This produces and incredible image across a wide field of view, all with best in class eye relief for easy, full field viewing with or without eyeglasses.
The prism-less Folded Light Path (FLP) system uses mirrors to compress a long optical system into half its length. All this performance, in a lightweight magnesium housing for the most packable optical power available.
Good optical quality but; – extremely stiff focus to the point its unusable – focus changes as you change magnifying power – no diopter – not terrible since it has good eye relief – small apparent field of view.
Seems like they traded this off for better eye relief -12x is hand holdable but for higher magnifying power you definitely need a tripod Comes with a nice bag though. These are probably extremely durable so if you truly need that then get these.
I think most people want better ergonomics and optical quality in this price range.
I have been looking to upgrade my spotting scope for a few years now and when I saw this one I bought it. I saw this one back in the early 90s and was way impressed with the clarity and compactness. Leupold makes some good optics and I have several of there rifle scopes also threre obsolete straight tube spotter 30X, that’s why when I saw this one with FFP MOA redical for calling shots, I was hooked.
I am pleased to say, I was not let down in the least, Great spotting scope, very clear, compact and my girlfriend can call my shots for me!.
I use this spotting scope mostly on a window mount in the truck. It has been great looking over miles of both elk and antelope country. It really shines at first and last light. It’s built like a work horse and I’m sure will last through miles of abuse down the road and through the back country.
I have not found a flaw in this scope yet. I’m thinking I never will. I also love that it starts at 12 power. A lot of high end spotting scopes are starting out at 20 power and something that’s just too much.
I like to scan on low power with a giant field of view. This scope does it all and fits in a backpack nicely with the short and compact design. I would buy again and probably will just to have one in every vehicle.
Take your spotting vision at the shooting range or in the field to the next level with the Athlon Optics Talos 20-60×80 Spotting Scope. This hunting spotter scope is waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof to give results on images that have great contrast, sharpness, and color definition.
The K9 glass prisms provide an image that is bright by reflecting great amounts of light to your eyes. Combined with the multi-coated layering, you’ll have a better light transmission that will help bring optimum brightness.
Take this Talos scope out to observe the surrounding nature in any condition. The fog-proof construction will keep your images crisp and clean through it all. Whether you’re birdwatching or stargazing, set up the included tripod for steady viewing.
The rotating ring will ensure you have the most comfortable and easy-going angle while out enjoying the views. For precision viewing and high-quality images, you won’t find a better spotting scope than the Athlon Optics Talos 20-60×80 Spotting Scope.
Glass is clear. Adjustment is easy. Can find focus quickly. Scope is heavy and appears to be well built. The case is very nice and should protect the optic well. Not particularly thrilled with the tripod, but it is typical of spotters at this price point.
The option to swivel the eyepiece to allow viewing from various angles is a plus. At this time, I am pleased with this purchase.
I was skeptical when I purchased this product because I am used to purchasing Nikon, Burris, and Vortex optics and wasn’t familiar with Athlon Optics. Skepticism squashed when I mounted it on the tripod and looked through it.
Excellent quality spotting scope at a great price! For use sighting in my rifles at 400 yards, I won’t have to walk down to the targets anymore to see if I hit them. It’s that clear! Two thumbs up from this guy!.
Great for the price. I have not gotten it wet yet or too dusty but there is a fairly good field of view at 1000yd, with good detail and low chromatic aberration. Yes, there are better scopes, but for the money you get a bright, clear scope that is also lightweight because it’s not heavy-duty.
The nikon 20-60×82 monarch ed spotting scope offers a contrast-rich and color-accurate image, while maintaining edge-to-edge sharpness due to field flattener technology. Equipped with an 82mm objective lens that gathers ample light and a 20-60x zoom eyepiece, this angled-viewing scope is suited to a wide range of uses.
Multi-layer coatings on the lenses and prisms provide bright detailed views, even in low-light conditions. The focusing ring permits fine adjustment for distant subjects and coarse adjustment for nearby subjects.
Weather and temperature changes won”t interfere with your glassing the monarch”s body and eyepieces are waterproof and the body is nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging and condensation. The monarch fieldscope body, constructed of robust aluminum alloy, provides durability, reliability and ease of operation.
Other ergonomic features such as the specific knurling pattern on the focusing ring enhances its operability. The type 1 bayonet mount with locking system makes eyepiece attachment/detachment easy and secure.
I was fortunate to get this model used, although it really appeared brand new. I got it just in time to get a viewing of the RARE Steller’s Sea Eagle that has taken up residence here in Maine. It is an excellent scope.
Not too heavy considering the ability. The focus dial feels like it is in an awkward spot, I’m still getting comfortable with it. I appreciate the covers for the lens and eyepiece, but they are a bit cumbersome.
Otherwise, I recommend this if you are looking for a good magnification at a good price. Plus, the Nikon service is over and above.
I have never owned a spotting scope before but have used a few on trips and for work. This Nikon Monarch scope provides sharp views and is easy to use. On my first outing I captured a few shots and video of a Red-tailed Hawk with my phone through the lens.
I appreciate the cover that came with it and the carrying strap, as it does have some weight to it, especially when combined with a tripod. Looking forward to getting outside with it more often.
The angled-viewing Ultima 80 3. 1″/80mm Spotting Scope Kit from Celestron features a prismatic spotting scope with an 80mm objective. All models in the Ultima line are mated to an eyepiece and render views that are both right side up and laterally correct to the world, making them good for both terrestrial and celestial observing.
All Ultimas are waterproof, making them more robust than ever before. Celestron surely is delivering exceptional value. The Ultima line offers the choice between 45° angled viewing or straight viewing.
Most users will prefer angled scopes because they are both simple to use for birds perched high above the viewer, as well as easily shared among users of differing heights. But some will prefer the straight-through viewing models, for these are much easier to use when hunting down the object of interest in the first place.
Straight-viewing models are also usually a bit lighter, brighter, and less expensive. The choice is yours.

I own 2 telescopes (Celestron 8 SCT & 4 Maksutov) and various binoculars including an 15×70. Bought this spotting scope with little expectations as it has only 80mm of aperture and was so cheap. My purpose was just to have it on my balcony as a practical means of watching boats and planes far away as setting a telescope is a messy job.
But wow, the moment I had a first look, I was astonished. at 20x, it covers almost same area as my 15×70 binos, field of view being slightly less. Lots of light it gathers. when I zoomed in, field of view was still satisfying with no degradation of quality other than some dimming which is unavoidable.
The quality is as good as what I see through my telescopes, except for some purple fringing on very bright objects. I had no issues seeing belts of Jupiter or rings of Saturn (could not see Cassini Division though).
When you zoom in, it gets the moon almost fully in the field of view. It’s great for stargazing too. Lots of pin point stars across the field. Can’t tell the difference with a telescope. I’m thinking of replacing the OTA of one of my telescopes with this one so I will have tracking ability too.
Really loved the optics and portability. Bought two more so I can keep one in the car all the time and give one to dad as a gift (it has enough eye relief too!).
C5 Spotting Scope by Celestron. Celestron’s C5 Spotting Scope is a 5″ (127mm) aperture, 1250 mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system. Its optical excellence is the reason it was chosen by NASA for many space shuttle missions.
The C5 spotting scope is an ideal choice for the serious bird watcher, nature lover or anyone who enjoys beautiful views -either from your home or in the field. At just six pounds in weight and 11 inches in length, this spotting scope is a completely portable visual and photographic instrument that performs well in any viewing location.
Further, Celestron offers a wide variety of optional accessories to expand the capabilities of this special instrument.
The Tasco World Class 20-60 x 60 60mm Spotting Scope Kit is a high-power spotting scope that features a large 60mm diameter objective lens that efficiently gathers light for better viewing during low light.
Ideal for hunting, birding, or even casual stargazing. This version comes with a 45 viewfinder. Many people find the 45 angled viewing experience more comfortable for extended periods (particularly with birding).
Sharing a scope simultaneously between people of varying heights is also more practical with an angled scope. It has fully coated optics, BK7 prisms, convenient focusing and zoom adjustments.
Perfect for my use, bird watching, monitoring my back yard and whenever I make it to the shooting range. Love the size and the ability to zoom in to exquisite detail. Don’t like the jittery stand and the hard to turn knobs.
Turning the focus and zoom knobs took so much effort, it shook the whole scope and I couldn’t stay on target. Maybe because it was brand new and not broken in yet. Great for a novice like me. I plan on getting a great view of the next full moon.
Great purchase for my needs at a great price. I recommend it.
This product includes the spotting scope, tripod, soft case with shoulder strap, hard outer case with shoulder strap and a lens cloth. The soft case fits inside the hard outer case. The soft case contains the scope and tripod.
I use this scope for shooting at the range, 50 yards and 100 yards. The image is clear and free of distortion or halo effects. Focusing is a snap. The tripod is sturdy, well made and easy to set up. With all nuts tightened, the scope is held solidly on the tripod, giving a perfect view of the target.
At 20X the scope can be hand held but at higher magnification the tripod is required for a steady view. The tripod includes tilt and pan capability, useful at outdoor ranges where terrain can be uneven.
I have not tested the scope under low light conditions because I don’t intend to use it for such. The only criticism I have is a very minor one: the scope covers do not fit tightly and can fall off easily.
It is thus necessary to use some care when taking the scope out of its case, or putting it back in the case, to avoid scratching the lenses on zippers or other hardware. You could pay a lot more money for a spotting scope but I don’t think you will get a better deal than this.

Reviews From Real Customers
My review is based on expectations, I am an avid animal watcher and have high end optics. I wanted a light scope that would fit in my daypack and accompany me on hikes. I wanted an angled scope that I could rotate allowing my wife to easily view any object of interest (I have a height advantage).
I wanted an easily packed scope that I could take with me to the gun range. This scope does all I expected and wanted. If you want to use a scope in low light (evenings and mornings), this is not the scope for you.
You will need to significantly increase the amount of money you spend.
I’m very pleased with the scope. I don’t use it on a tripod, I prefer to rest it on a towel, on a ledge. I honestly can’t see the point of the sturdy metal box, too solid to carry around, perhaps this could have been omitted and more money spent on the lens.
It’s very light and is a great help in spotting birds at up to 200 metres. You can see their eyes and very small distinguishing marks. The fabric case it comes in is a tight fit. It takes some time to get used to the focus when going from X 20 to X 60, but you do get used to it.
All in all a very good buy. Excellent next day delivery.
I have become a member at a local WWT site and my small binoculars weren’t really up to the job. I was considering a telescope but couldn’t afford the prices being asked by the top end brands but this one caught my eye.
The price of the Celestron 60mm zoom refractor spotter was affordable at £75. It arrived in just 2 days by standard post. The spotter comes in a solid aluminium carry case but inside this is a lighter padded case to carry it about along with the small tripod supplied with it.
This tripod, although basic is very sturdy and once set up keeps the spotter fixed on what you want to look at. I’ve only had chance to use this in the garden but have been very impressed by the sharpness of the image.
At 20 x zoom the image is nice and bright. As you increase the zoom the image does darken but I was expecting this from other reviews. Have used it to look at the moon and was very pleased with the detail I could see.

The Leupold SX-1 Ventana 15-45×60 Spotting Scope was the best I reviewed at a large sporting goods store. for the price! There are compromises and the kit components (hard case, tripod) were just okay.
cheap but workable. In its price range, it optically competed very well against the other $300-$500 range scopes with best clarity, sharpness, and useful features. As none were in stock, I picked this display kit up for a good deal.
I had the need (next day range usage) and made the purchase. It worked quite well at the 100yd range points, giving clear and bright sight pictures out all the way to 45 power zoom (spotting 22lr holes-no problem).
Functions are straight forward and adjustments very easy. The eye piece “eyeglass wearer” extension functions well and of all the scopes I looked through in the store previously, the SX-1 angled SS had the widest and longest eye relief.
big selling point! To me, the major downside to the SX-1 is its bigger than most in its range, but this probably contributes to the generous FOV and eye relief positive features. The SX-1 is well built and although it doesn’t effect function quality, the unit does look good! Since my inital SX-1 purchase, I’ve added the Leupold LEU56446 Compact Tripod.
It is a significant improvement over the kit tripod in strength, stability, function and form. Now, breezes and mild winds have no effect on keeping a solid sight picture, even at 45X! Overall, I’m well please with my modest investment and as used, functions perfectly for my intentions!.
