20 Best Nightcap Drink For Sleep (2023 Updated)

I have tried other Tru drinks and was excited to see the Dream variety. I have trouble sleeping and struggle with insomnia so adding something to help me relax and perhaps drift off was very appealing.

This brand has good flavors, so I was also excited that it wouldn’t taste bad, too. When I tried the drink the first night, I found that the taste was fine, though it got hard to handle towards the end of the can.

I had a hard time finishing it after about 3/4 of it because the flavor felt more sour towards the end. I am not a fan of sour flavors, and this does state sour cherry on the can. This did not improve in subsequent nights, I have a hard time with the flavor at the same point in the can each time.

Perhaps it would help if the size was smaller, 8 ounces instead of 12. In regards to size, it would also help if it were smaller because I was worried if I drank all of it right before bed, I would have to get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom.

It is meant to be consumed before bed so having that large of a drink for me, right before going to sleep, would mean an interruption of my sleep later. Sleep wise, I did not notice a difference, unfortunately.

However, I do not fault the product, many people respond well to melatonin and it is quite possible that I just do not. The ingredients are all good and it does not contain large amounts of sugar, which is also important.

I think it might work great for others, just not for me.

This Tru Dream Sparkling water is a good seltzer water. The flavor is refreshing and not too sweet. The level of carbination is just right, not too much or little. I tried the cherry berry flavor and it really is tasty and refreshing.

Now as far as a sleep aid or having a calming effect, I didn’t notice much. I didn’t feel overly calm mor sleepy after drinking it. I tried all 4 cans, one per night for 4 nights to see if there was a cumulative effect with drinking one per day and still did not notice a difference in sleepiness.

So for a seltzer very good, a sleep aid not so much.

This is getting harder to find and it will be a bad day for me when I can no longer get this. It tastes awesome when mixed with a little water and Cheribundi Tart Cherry Juice, which also claims to help with sleep, and sometimes a little red wine.

I get cold in the evenings so I will mix this and heat it up. Reminds me of gluhwein. While this doesn’t necessarily keep me asleep, it really helps me shut my brain off. I have tried lots of other sleep aids to include other products with melatonin and prescriptions.

Prescriptions tend to have lasting negative effects. The best sleep I had was taking this to shut my brain off and the Gabapentin for restless legs. It turns out Gabapentin was seriously depressing me.

No thank you to depression. I prefer to be tired and live a positive happy life.

This is not the sellers fault. The product zero calorie Neurosleep is terrible and leave an awful After taste. The 35 calorie drinks were awesome, idk why they would change a winning recipe. I thought Id ordered the 35 cal drinks but was mistaken.

The old version of the spoon that came with SNAC nightcap was fine. It had a long handle so you could easily scoop out powder from the bottom of the can. Unfortunately now the spoon has a very short handle.

That means I have to put my hand into the can to scoop it out which results in powder all over the place. The change was not very well thought out.

So, my daughter has seizures. She’s on a sleep medication that just isn’t doing what needs to be done. And so we started trying thus. She drinks about a quarter of the drink each night on top of her sleeping medicine and it gave the medicine a boost and she sleeps really good.

An accidental find at the grocery store, that was a MAJOR score! I was standing behind a lady with like 10 bottles of Neuro Water in the checkout lane a the grocery store. I noticed it said SLEEP which led me to pick up a bottle, while apologizing of course, I HAD to give into my curiosity.

Wow. I actually really like this drink. I have REALLY bad Insomnia buy lately its been worse. My mom passed away a few days ago so I’m still very much in shock. Now I drink one of these right before I lay down and I start to feel sleepy.

It has an okay taste especially if it’s chilled. These are just so great to have around for nights like this one in having right now. They basically take like 15-20 min to kick in and when they do its a slow gradual sedation.

I ordered this after I saw it online because I get terrible insomnia as a result of my narcolepsy. I was honestly disappointed. I had high hopes for the product but sadly it didn’t do anything to help my sleep.

Have been using this for about a year now. had trouble sleeping, people recommended melatonin gummies and those did nothing. I only use this about once or twice every other week when I have to go to sleep earlier than expected or when I am having trouble in a bed that is not my own.

Highly recommend on vacation. It does take a little longer to work, I use half the dose so that may play a part, but it takes about 35-45 minutes to start getting sleepy for me. I recommend taking it at least 45 minutes before your desired sleep time.

Because I dont take it often, I do not suggest taking the full dose if you are taking it to be somewhere or do something really early. A full dose for me makes me feel like a bag of wet cement. I never wake up feeling refreshed or well rested if I take a full dose.

You briefly consider just skipping buying ZzzQuil and buying it during your next trip into Walmart instead, before, aha! Would you look at that! A generic version for pretty much half the price! You gleefuly grab it, relieved that you will indeed be getting the good night’s sleep that you’d hoped for, and for HALF the price.

Ah, yes, the life of a young frugal insomniac. I was once entirely frugal in my purchases, buying the generic version of any product that I possibly could, confident in it’s ability to perfectly imitate the performance of the competing name brand product.

I proudly followed this way of life, smug with the dollars and cents I’d saved, up until the night following this purchase. Hubris was about to bestow its dreadful repercussions upon me, and will to you too if you do not heed this warning.

Merely opening this product released a sickening odor, smelling almost as if I had accidentally inhaled a packet of grape Kool Aid through my nose. The stench lingered in the room for the following fifteen minutes.

Now to describe the flavor. The best way I can think to describe it is as if you fermented grapes and maybe a couple stawberries in corn syrup for 40 some years and drank that. The products performance as far as putting you to sleep is exactly the same as it’s competitor, with some major sacrifices to your senses along the way.

I’ve never left a review for a product I’ve bought in a store, but this experience was sickening enough to motivate me to leave this review. Please, consider the variables at play, and put down the few extra bucks for the ZzzQuil if you can.

I got this in a sample pack (not free) I received with my recent subscription of regular hydrate. I support hydrant because it WAS the only company not including ‘”natural” sugar substitutes’ in non-sugar free products.

Nowhere on the product page does it say it includes monk fruit except in the photo of the label that you have to purposely seek out. I checked and my individual pouch includes it in the ingredient list as well.

The main text of the Hydrant SLEEP page and the science behind it page leave out that monk fruit is an ingredient. I would buy this and the immunity if monk fruit was not included. Very disappointed.

I was looking for a safe non addictive sleep aid for those occassion toss and turn nights. Hydrants cocoa mix fits the bill. So easy to prepare, mix and very travel friendly. I mix mine with almond milk and it taste just like delicious hot cocoa no gross after taste.

When it’s prepared warm it gently relaxes me into nice sleep. I do not wake up jittery,more tired or anything else negitive. I highly recommend this product!.

naturally feeling tired at bedtime is a foreign concept to me, but with an early work schedule (3:45am wakeup, yikes!) combined with my school schedule, it’s hard to turn off my brain, especially when I see that “alarm in 4 hours” notification on my phone.

Purchased this on a recommendation from a buddy to help me try and get better sleep. I suffer from pretty bad insomnia most nights and the lack of sleep affects my jiu jitsu training and recovery. I buy the Gaia valerian root sound sleep from Whole Foods. They are pricey, I think about $35 per 60 capsule bottle, which is a month’s supply. I keep buying them because they have made such a difference in my sleep.

Midnight berry flavor smells like the cold medicine from your childhood you dreaded to take but tastes pretty darn good. At first you’re surprised at how grape tasting the zzzquil is and then the menthol after taste hits you and starts to slightly burn down your throat, chest and stomach.

After about an hour of taking the zzzquil it began to take effect and the pillows were a vision of delight! For the first time in a while there was no tossing and turning throughout the night. The waking up that first day is like waking out of a deep sleep you’re not ready to part with but very quickly does that feeling go away! For over a year we took melatonin supplements and it’s lost it’s effect.

This is a nice alternative, however, it feels as though if a person took zzzquil daily they May end up in the hospital from stomach ulcers or something. The label says one dose per day while also stating not to exceed 4 doses in a 24 hour period.

ZZZQuil products are a trusted name in pain relief and help with getting to sleep. I tried this product when I had a headache and had tossed and turned and couldnt sleep. The taste of this product is kind of a blueberry or grape menthol (cough drop) flavor.

It is not the cherry flavor that I am used to with Other products made by this company. The flavor wasnt my favorite but it wasnt awful either. I typically take a half dose of sleep aid products so that I do not wake up groggy in the morning.

I like this product to help with sleep and pain. This is pretty much a liquid form on Benadryl. I’m grateful they made this sleep aid so that I didn’t have to take Nyquil with all the extra symptom relievers.

This product helps if you have mild insomnia. I ended up having bigger issues and was prescribed sleep medication as well as a CPAP device to finally get that much needed sleep.

So glad I got CVS Health Melatonin tablets with 3mg for my 2 oldest children. My oldest always had problems going to sleep at night and my 2nd started in their middle school years. When my oldest has to get up in the morning it’s a fight every time.

I had them take a melatonin a couple of hours before bedtime because we didn’t know how fast they would kick in but my oldest was out a little after bedtime. I’ll take that over him going to sleep after 6am and sleeping all day.

He said he felt good and I’m glad it wasn’t a issue for him getting up or feeling groggy the next morning. My 2nd child was out before bedtime(i’ll take that over not sleeping for almost 24hrs) and was up before everyone else in the house.
