Do I recommend the router. Yes, with reservations. Is it a good value? Depends on how much you have to pay. Is it of good quality? Seems to be of solid build. This little router seems to do a pretty good job picking up weak cell signal (2 bars) so no complaints there.

My one complaint where I feel this router is lacking is that it’s WIFI signal is really only good for ONE ROOM. So, I would not suggest you buy this thinking it is going to work as a WHOLE HOME WIFI router.

You will be very disappointed if that is the case. It does support you attaching a good router with solid WIFI signal and doing that works very well. As for value, If you have to pay full retail price for one of these then I wouldn’t consider that to be a good value.

As for quality. The outer case is sturdy and the display does a good job providing sufficient info. My experience with this that I like it much better than the JETPACK routers although it obviously isn’t as compact and portable.

If you need something to stuff in a backpack and carry around this isn’t a good option. But for static setup this works out well. I liked it well enough that I bought a second to use as a backup in the event my primary might fail.

One thing to be aware of is that if these are not set up to easily remove or swap the SD Card for your cell service. The Micro SD Card that with the Chip that holds your CELL/DATA plan is internal and the router has to be taken apart to access the CARD which is something Verizon will not do.

The Router has connections for EXTERNAL antennas but I’ve been told that it really only helps with VOICE and not DATA. I would like to see and antenna that would help with reception of the Data signal.

I assume this item was brand new, there is a very small scratch or nick on it that is probably why it didn’t make inspection to be sold brand new. This scratch is hardly noticeable and doesn’t effect operation at all.

I took to Verizon store and they installed SIM card for me for free, they say you can’t replace SIM which is wrong. I was going to do it but the guy at store said he wasn’t busy and has been doing a bunch of them.

It took him about 5 minutes to remove the 6 screws on the bottom and replace card and put back together, anyone could do this, but you do need a very small Torx driver bit. We use this in lieu of the hard wired internet that is horrible in the country.

The device gives me 2 bars of LTE data which is the same as my iphone 6 gets placed next to it. I just got the device running so I may purchase an external antenna to increase signal, but so far it is working great.

I highly recommend this device if you trying to cut the cord with rural crappy internet. Item arrived earlier than expected and came in a plan USPS package. Love it switched to unlimited data plan and saved $50.

00 a month to boot!! Update my iPhone speed tests at around 6mbps this unit test around 25 mbps lightening fast internet.

The Verizon T1114 worked well for me-i bought it used on bay for around $35 shipped. With only 2 bars showing for data i reached speeds as high as 25Mbps WITHOUT external antennas. The voice showed 4 of 5 bars and was completely clear and reliable.

It was quite impressive seeing how i live out in the sticks. The nearest tower was over 5 miles away via a pass through large hills. The only problem is Verizon’s stingy plans. I am not sure you can use this with the old Grandfathered true unlimited plans but i would recommend one if you can as having good data speed just helps you burn thru data to the caps on the normal plans.

The T1114 must have wall power plugged in to use Data,otherwise on battery power alone you only get access to voice. I would of given 5 stars for this if it were not for Verizons lame data plans.

Bought this router at the beginning of 2026 after reviewing 25 other routers. I’ve been in the IT business for 30+ years and needed an ultra-reliable solution for my business network without having to migrate over to NOC level aspect.

The cost for this router was comparable to other high end routers. I also purchased the CM2000 Modem and discarded my ISP’s equipment due to their unreliable functionality. Unpacking and setup was very simple and all equipment appeared to be brand new with easy instructions to get started.

Changing the default login info was effortless and I was able to configure the entire process with no problems. Updating the firmware was also unproblematic and the phone app installation when well too.

Several months after the initial installation, I had some issues with the phone app. The app would not sort the list of devices connected and the reset function would not work on the app. Shortly thereafter, the phone app was updated and everything worked fine again.

A couple more months later, I ran into a few new issues with the router. First, I cannot change the QOS function. If I try to define my internet bandwidth – the router interface does not save the setting and reverts back to the “SpeedTest” setting.

Second, the “Security” says it is not enabled on the Home page of the router after logging in. Even though there is security setup on the routher and the phone app, it still says that it is “Not Enabled.

” Lasty, I am unable to turn OFF the “WPS” function and button on the router. The “LED Control Settings” just turn off the lights on the actual router device. This is not what I need. The WPS button can still be pushed and a device can be connected.

The “WPS Wizard” get to a point when it asks to input a “PIN Number” if chosen not to use the recommended “Push Button” option. If a 4-8 digit PIN is not entered, there is an error requesting that a PIN be entered.

And at this stage, nothing more can be done to disable the WPS feature on the router. So, minus the listed issues; it is a good router but I think I am going to go with the NOC network option and hopefully there will be no feature holes or discrepancies.

To begin: This is not a long term review as I just purchased and installed this yesterday. This is more to review the set up process and how is has been running in the brief time in which I have owned it.

Prior to purchase I did a lot of research and heard some worrisome things about the setup process using the app. Most of the negative reviews I had read which I was concerned with were with respect to the setup process, wireless range and durability.

While I cant speak to durability yet, the app was painless to use to set up my router. Given the reviews my first attempt to set up my router was to use the website but I couldn’t find the proper link and the Netgear website took me into the deathloop trying to find a proper link so I just installed the app to install and set up my router.

The app was really straight forward and my router was up and running within 20 minutes and the walk through was very easy to follow and understand. The signal strength is exactly what I was looking for.

Our house is about 3000 Sq ft and the router is set up next one exterior wall and there is signal right across the property which is approximately 10000 square ft. So far I give this item five stars.

If I run into any durability issues in the future I will edit my rating and leave more clarification with that respect.

The family has owned Netgear routers over many years upgrading them as the technology improved. Needless to say this router is the best one We have owed offering improved security, easy installation, greater coverage, wonderful app interface, and monitoring of devices connecting to it.

Netgear has upgrades for protection of individual devices with products that compete with the leading edge protection software. You can customize to the degree that you feel most comfortable, at home and away.

After installing the router, the protection that has a trial period picked up malware on two devices that the devices themselves did not detect. That confirmed my purchase, and along with my experience with Netgear, I can continue to use the internet with confidence and know that I have the best product available to safely navigate as well as protect my family’s investment at home.

This is NOT a Verizon router, but a FRONTIER router with FRONTIER software. I suggest you avoid this and save yourself the hassle, as well as wasting your money. 1. NOT a real Verizon router, but a FRONTIER router, probably re-labeled.

If you logon to the router IP you will see FRONTIER software. The software will not be auto updated by Verizon and could put your computer/network at risk. Verizon will not “see” this router if you ask for any help.

It does provide Verizon TV, their Guide, and Wifi. but read further. 2. The Wifi 2. 4ghz connection drops every few days, so I have to re-start the router every time for it to work again and re-login with password.

what a pain. 3. Wifi signal range overall, is not that good. 2. 4ghz is supposed to provide distance, but is inferior to other routers, like Xfinity. I Do Not Recommend this product, it’s not a good value, and has sketchy quality.

There is NO notice in the description that it runs on FRONTIER software, so pretty much false advertising, IMO. I will now purchase a REAL Verizon router. Don’t be “cheap” like I was and regret it. Buy the real deal.

A breeze to set up. I just plugged in the new router then moved the various ethernet and coax cables from the old router to the new router. In less than 15 minutes I was back in business. All attached and wireless equipment seems to be performing as expected.

I needed this particular router because it uses MoCa and my video equipment requires it for wireless connectivity. This refurbished routers looks and functions like any new router. I am completely satisfied.

I had quite a time buying a true Verizon unit on eBay. It took me buying 3 units (one after the other) and returning the first two. The first two units were Frontier units in a Verizon case. When you signed onto the unit, the firmware was Frontier.

The serial number of the board did not match the serial number on the sticker on the case. It seems that vendors are buying Frontier units, taking the boards out and putting them into Verizon cases and selling them as Verizon, as Verizon units are selling for much more on eBay.

If you look on the Internet, you will see multiple posts about problems using Frontier units on Verizon’s network. In all 3 cases, I specifically asked the vendor if I was buying a true Verizon unit.

All 3 said yes. I finally asked the third vendor to verify that when signing onto the unit, the firmware said Verizon and the serial number on the case matched the serial number reported via the firmware.

The unit that I finally ended up with works great with great WiFi coverage and very fast speeds.

The Good: Wifi Speeds were amazing. Nice looking units that fit in nicely on a shelf with existing decor. Easy to do address reservations and port forwarding. The Bad: Limited Features. The router determines whether a device uses 2.

4 or 5ghz signal. Might be great for a regular user, but to me this is annoying because my new iPhone can connect to either, so the router placed it on a 2. 4 channel that yielded slower speeds and there was no way for me to change it like I can do with my old Nighthawk.

It has known compatibility issues with wireless Amcrest cameras (wish I would have known that since I have a system built around Amcrest), Satellite Signal Drops from base station constantly. I bought the system that has 3 satellites and live in a 4,000 sqft house yet they kept disconnecting.

App Issues – It took 3 hrs to get the app to work correctly to finalize setup (I have a nighthawk and am used to the app and it still gave me issues), The other issue with the App is that if you change a device name, it doesn’t translate to the Embedded UI.

Device connectivity to the satellites is an issue because when booting up the system, it seems that the router boots before the satellites thus having everything connect to the base (router). It would be nice if you could also manually move devices to the appropriate satellite, but you can’t do that.

I had a satellite in my finished basement that next to it was a smart TV and a Google Home, both of which would not connect to the satellite next to it, they connected to the router 1 level up. Very frustrating.

I read some blogs about turning signal strength down and that seemed to help, but my wifi range suffered in other areas. I have over 50 devices connected to my router between wired and wifi. I don’t think Orbi liked that many devices (35+ continuously active).

I also read about ways to get Orbi to communicate better by disabling MU-MIMO, but to me that defeats the purpose of a state of the art router. Lastly, Netgear Armor destroyed my connectivity and streaming capabilities.

In theory it was a great idea, but once I disabled it my speeds and streaming ability improved. I like Netgear products, but this one wasn’t for me. I went back to my Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 and it performs twice as good with my devices than the Orbi did (even thought I’m comparing Wifi 5 to the Orbi Wifi 6 which doesn’t even compare speedwise).

I think my next step will be the newest Wifi 6 Nighthawk Router. My advice is to do more research before buying Orbi if you’re a power user.

I purchased this product after seeing multiple positive reviews on tech review sites. There were some negative reviews on Amazon but there are always a few. I should have listened to what they said. When the Nighthawk Mesh extender arrived, I followed the installation instructions using the Nighthawk app.

The QR code didn’t scan correctly so I did a manual install. Unfortunately I had to stop when it mentioned using the “included” Ethernet cable, which wasn’t included. I then configured it using the WPS approach but none of my devices received any signal despite the extender appearing to transmit.

On my iPhone, I kept getting a separate security certificate error message and it didn’t receive internet either. I tried to go through the reconfiguration steps several more times and then called tech support.

After being on hold for almost an hour, I was connected to someone who said I needed to speak to a specialist. I was on hold for 30 more minutes. By this point, when I checked my computer, it seemed to be receiving a signal.

I couldn’t check my phone because I was speaking on it, but the tech support person said that the error message I got was nothing to worry about and it shouldn’t appear again. But the next day, it did and I couldn’t send email from my iPhone without shutting off the nighthawk extender.

I looked online for solutions and apparently this is a common, known problem with this extender and Apple products. All of the “solutions” being suggested on the community forum involved significant admin level changes to fix and many seemed to weaken network security.

As an IT professional, I’m perfectly capable of doing complex command language level changes, but not if it compromises my network security. Consequently, I ended up returning the product. The return process seems to have gone smoothly but I’ve not seen my charge refunded yet so I’m reluctant to say that it’s too easy.

Overall, I’d recommend going with a brand other than Netgear especially if you have Apple devices that you need to connect.

I bought this system because a friend of mine has it and because of the Netgear name. I have even talked a friend of mine to purchase this system on Cyber Monday which he did but was only able to purchase the Router and 1 Satellite instead of the two because the Cart would add it but when you try to go to the next step the cart was empty.

I even tried to purchase it for him and had the same results. I told him to purchase the Router and 1 Satellite to have this system at the reduced price. So I have tried to install the Router several times now and have had no connection between the Modem and the Router.

I have tried to power them up, unplug everything, used a different ethernet cord, moved the Router to a different location and still everything I tried the Router doesn’t connect to the TDS modem with an IP address.

The TDS Modem does put out TCP/IP to things that get plugged into it so I know that the TDS modem is working and that the ports on the back of it work. The TDS modem is a WiFi modem and I do not know if this is an issue but it shouldn’t be since the Netgear Modem is getting plugged directly into the TDS modem.

I do not know if my Netgear Modem is bad because the only way to trouble shoot this is to take it to work and plug it into that network to see if it can obtain an IP from that router. The person (friend of mine) who talked me into this system says that it one of the best and that he has no issues, my friend that I talked into buying this system is in his late 60’s so I guess I will have to go to his place and try to set his up because he is unable to, I think it is more that he is not a Techie so things are harder for him to do.

All in all, I wish I wasn’t having these issues because I believe that Netgear makes great stuff, I have bought Netgear back in the 1990’s when I hosted LAN party’s because they where the best, I hope that the issue is with TDS and not this unit but with the testing that I have done it is pointing to the Router and not my TDS modem.

One thing about this unit is that being used, the spring loaded hinge at the USB connector does not automatically go into position nor spring back if you move it to far. This caused a lot of confusing as to whether the unit was good or bad because it would not go online and connect.

Worked well after downloading the vzaccess software. Also worked with TP-Link N150 Wireless 3G/4G Portable Router with Access Point/WISP/Router Modes (TL-MR3020)

I needed these because they are no longer being made and they are the only modems that work with all of my Cradlepoint routers. These came as described and work great.

I have multiple devices, both hardwired and wireless, connected to the router at once; it has never failed. I been using it for about 2 years now and I have never even had to reboot it for any issues.

I cannot recommend this router enough. HOWEVER, I would check that the router is compatible with the internet service provider you are using, there should be information out there that confirms which models are compatible.

But if this router is compatible, it does a great job.

We can connect up to 10 devices pretty easily without any noticeable decrease in speed. This is including 1 ethernet connection. Speed is excellent (or rather, it hits the upper limit from my provider, which is 100 mbps).

The bad: Nothing. The ugly: Every once in a while -I’d say maybe once or twice a week, the wifi just dies. Usually the router auo-restarts and fixes it, so we don’t really see an issue – at most, we have to wait through about 30s of buffering.

But sometimes, it does not restart, so I have to restart the gateway through my provider. Fortunately, there is an app for that (TM) so it takes about 2 minutes, but it would be a hassle if one had to go directly to the ISP to do this.

I bought a modem in 2008 that lasted 9 years. My last one lasted 3 years. This one only lasted 15 months. Are they making them less and less reliable over the years? I feel scammed by the companies who make these devices and cannot help but feel that planned obsolescence may be at play here.

The new Mesh WiFi 6 system from Netgear really extends the network for any home and provides added network security features which aren’t available in older generation gear. A few of these new features are the addition of WPA3 security, App alerts whenever a new device connects, vulnerability scanning of connected devices, and the ability to disconnect unwanted or unauthorized devices with the swipe of a control on your phone.

The router and two additional satellites were very easy to set up using the Nighthawk App which is available for Android or iPhone. My setup was done using an iPhone, and I was able to get up and running by following the straight forward instructions presented in the App.

In all, it took about 15-20 minutes to set up a basic configuration, and just a little more time for me to move the satellites around to different locations to test signal strength and conduct speed tests.

The Nighthawk App is proactive in keeping the router and satellite firmware up to date and checks to see if a new version is available during setup. This is a good thing, as it is very common for new firmware to be released periodically to add features, or to install security patches as new security vulnerabilities are reported.

My router had an update waiting for it right out of the box, and the process was nearly automatic and took no longer than 5 minutes. It is really nice to know the Nighthawk is focused on security, and is working for you behind the scenes to stay ahead of the “bad” actors on the Internet.

Two of my newer laptops instantly recognized the WiFi 6 upgrade from my older WiFi system, and the location upstairs where we previously had a weak signal and slow speeds, now has a much stronger signal and much quicker downloads.

I have a fiber Internet connection to the house with 500/500Mbps service. The speed test conveniently built into the Nighthawk App tested the connection of my ISP and returned results of 512 down and 505 up.

So, there are definitely no bottlenecks between the router and the ISP. Netgear’s Armor security protection is provided as a 30 day trial, with the option to install Bit Defender on your connected devices if you so desire.

Nice that I can try before I subscribe. For tech savvy folks, the traditional method of setting up the router is still available via a web interface which is accessible through a browser pointing to the router’s internal IP address.

You’ll definitely want to check it out, if you are into configuring the more advanced features. For example, I adhere to the practice of disabling the SSID broadcast on a private network, and that task requires accessing the advanced tab in the web interface of the router.

A second broadcasted guest network is available as an option to turn on for visitors, so you won’t have to disclose your hidden SSID and password for your private WiFi network. Overall: a fast, customizable, whole-home-covering Wifi system at a solid value.

As the title states, the wi-fi coverage I’m getting now is like night and day. I am an experienced tech person, so that is my frame of reference in this review. First, I did my research before coming into the store to purchase.

Most reviews I read, didn’t mention the NETGEAR Mesh Wi-Fi 6 system. However; being a tech person, I have used a myriad of NETGEAR products over the years, so I knew before hand they deliver quality consumer network products.

I like the NETGEAR system for two primary reasons: 1) price point and 2) it doesn’t spy on me like some other products I’ll not mention. Outside of that, the wi-fi coverage and number of devices that can connect simultaneously is comparable to more expensive products.

In addition, I liked the fact that each satellite has a wired gigabit LAN backflow connection. The installation was a little tricky because my ISP service is different than most; nevertheless, I was able to access the router configuration interface in short order to make the necessary adjustments to connect to my ISP.

My last three home routers were all NETGEAR, so I am very familiar with the router interface. The satellites connected automatically, so for overall installation, it was very quick and easy. My biggest concern, was getting a good wi-fi signal to our bonus room above the garage.

Previously, I had a router configured as a access point to the main router via hardwire LAN connection. It worked, but I also had one other router within the house acting as another access point. Again, this worked, but not as well as one would think.

When you move from one place to another within the house, the wireless devices would need to connect to the different access points, but it was never that simple and was not consistent – even if using the same SSID for all access points.

One of the new NETGEAR Mesh satellites is located downstairs below the bonus room, but there is ample signal to provide coverage to the bonus room now. My wife and daughter have complained for years about our wi-fi in our home.

Since I have installed this new Mesh system, zero complaints! I am very pleased and wish I’d have made this switch long ago. I highly recommend this system if you’re looking for a cost effective solution to whole home wi-fi coverage.

Picked up this Netgear Nighthawk Mesh Wifi6 System recently to take advantage of the Wifi6 capability in my new gaming laptop (Lenovo Legion) and my son’s gaming laptop (Dell G series). We were running it on an older AC router (non-mesh) and notice periodic episodes of high ping rates and lag.

Setup was super easy after scanning the QR code on the device and following simple step by step instructions on your phone to get it all connected. I used to setup all my older routers using the IP address to configure them and that took at least 10 minutes after I was accustomed to the process.

My first time took 30 mins. Netgear’s process was easy to follow and I had the Mesh setup in under 5 mins. And it was made for anyone with no knowledge of how networking functions operate. After it was up and running I ran some speed tests in comparison to my older AC router using a laptop without Wifi6 and with Wifi6.

W/O Wifi6, the download speed increased about 20%. W/ Wifi6, the download speed increased a staggering 200%. And with this Mesh system, all episodes of sporadic high ping rates during gaming all disappeared.

Would recommend to the novice networking person as well as the pros.

I replaced a Verizon MiFi 4620LE with the MHS291L and it seems to have faster operating speeds and connects to internet faster. The only things I don’t like about it are: if you don’t have a WIFI device connected it will time out and then has to be turned back on.

The second is the antenna port, I bought a new antenna and antenna adapter specifically for this device and the connection just doesn’t seem right, on the old jetpack the adapter locked up tight, so the antenna doesn’t seem to make a difference.

It works perfectly. It has 4G LTE coverage and battery life is up to 14 consecutive hours.

This jetpack just plain works, is easy to set up and add $$… It has held up so well I purchased a second one.

As a consumer router with a cat6 LTE modem it is an adequate product. Both my wife and I telework for major corporations and performs to task. Because we live on a farm outside of cable and fiber internet coverage I’ve had to teach myself the ins and outs of LTE modems.

This is the first integrated router/modem I’ve used. Previously used a cat3 AC341U modem connected to a Nighthawk AC1750 using a Cradlepoint CBA750B bridge router. The detail over information available to evaluate connection quality is disappointing.

I would expect a product with older technology (cat6 modems are several years old) that purports to be capable of carrier aggregation to at least have the ability to show me what bands it sees and which it is using.

More specifically I should be able to see detected signal strength and signal quality for each band detected. Ideally there should be an advanced function to allow for band locking. I’ll be the first to admit that I was spoiled with the detail level of the Cradlepoint bridge routers interface.

But that detail level greatly aided me on several occasions to diagnose issues with my carrier provider were their issue vs being an issue with my equipment/network. Event logging being one of those things I no longer have.

We live in a area with no internet, none! So I Purchased this router because it said it worked with ATT Sim cards. It does not! Twice went to the ATT store and they activated 2 different sim cards for me and neither worked to give us a hotspot.

Finally one ATT agent attempted to set up router manually and it came up requesting a TMobile login. The app for Nighthawk is terrible! You can’t do anything on the app until you have internet connection, well what about the people who have no internet and trying to set it up?!? Frustrating! No paperwork or manual in the box, had to go back to website and look up PDF for manual to find out that you needed LTE antennas.

Oh, which you have to order 3rd party, because Netgear doesn’t sell them. Overall this was a terrible experience! Equipment didn’t work, wasn’t provided with everything needed to use with LTE only. The to top it all off and weeks of trying to get this thing to work and it didn’t, I called to return it and they tried to tell me that I only had 14 days! They did finally let me return it, but only because I told them how it says compatible with ATT and it clearly isn’t.

Why don’t you make a simple router that works for hotspots for all us rural people who don’t have WiFi of fiber.

I wanted to upgrade from my 2011 Asus RT-N66R Gigabit Router Dual-band Wireless-N900. I was excited about some of the features of the Nighthawk AX4 4-Stream WIFI 6 Router – AX3000 (RAX38). I looked forward to the ultra-fast WIFI speeds up to 3Gbps.

I looked forward to the WIFI 6 powerful dual-core processor. This router came well packaged with easy to read and understand instructions. The setup instructions tell you to launch the Nighthawk app in order to log into the router.

I decided to manually install router by using the router web interface at www. routerlogin. net. The Nighthawk AX4 4-Stream WIFI 6 Router – AX3000 (RAX38) has Netgear Concierge Service which has dedicated Toll-Free Technical Support.

In my opinion the disadvantages outweigh the advantages though. I did numerous speed test using Ookla and Fast. com. The speed test ping high for uploads and downloads. However, when I went to YouTube to play a 3-minute music video by my favorite country band; the music video never played very SLOWLY if at all.

The video played for one second then it would stall, then it would play for another second and it would stall again. The results of the speed test looked promising but was misleading against actual usage.

I disconnected the Nighthawk AX4 4-Stream WIFI 6 Router – AX3000 (RAX38). I reconnected my 2011 Asus RT-N66R Gigabit Router Dual-band Wireless-N900. I went back onto Youtube and played the same exact 3-minute music video by my favorite country band; the video played all the way through without stalling.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Nighthawk AX4 4-Stream WIFI 6 Router – AX3000 (RAX38) since it is too slow for my personal and work needs. Sorry.

I bought this modem (Motorola MT7711) because it advertised download speeds over LAN and WiFi much greater than my subscribed cable speed of 400 Mbps (from Comcast). While the speed test showed that its speed on LAN (when a computer is connected to the modem using LAN cable) matched my cable’s subscribed speed on both IPv4 and IPv6, its speed on 5 GHz WiFi (at the maximum possible WiFi bandwidth of 80 MHz) is less than half (about 175 Mbps) of the subscribed speed (400 Mbps) over IPv6.

Please note that applications by default use IPv6, not IPv4, so it is very important that it gives the full speed on IPv6. Only when the speed test is forced to use IPv4 that it gives the subscribed speed (400 Mbps) on 5 GHz WiFi (when using 80 MHz WiFi bandwidth).

This behavior is very consistent and is clearly a software issue (the problem only happens on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv6, not on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv4). Also, it looks like the maximum speed that this modem can ever give on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv6 (at the maximum 80 MHz WiFi bandwidth), irrespective of how high is the cable’s subscribed speed, is about 175 Mbps.

When reached out to Motorola, their only response (besides having me do a modem reset, which made no difference) was to swap out the modem with another one (which they said could also be a refurbished one).

But that is not going to solve the problem. Since it is a software problem, it needs to be fixed in the software. Despite repeated requests, Motorola did not show any interest in doing the software fix.

Unfortunately, I discovered this critical issue after the 14 day return period; so I am stuck with it. It is so disappointing to be relegated to less than half of the subscribed speed due to this software issue with the modem, which Motorola has no interest in fixing.

The Motorola Model MT7711 replaced a modem/router which was about 6 years old, which still worked well, but had lost its ability to send out a strong wi-fi signal very far. After much research, we were planning to purchase the Motorola Model 7700.

However we somehow were blessed to find this Model 7711 at a cheaper price than the Model 7700, which really did not make any sense. It appears the Model 7711 is identical to the Model 7700, except the Model 7711 has the ability and option to also do Xfinity Voice.

We have no plans at this time to add a Xfinity Voice landline phone to our package, but it is nice to know we have that option in the future with the Model 7711. We would not have that option with the Model 7700.

You do not have to add Xfinity Voice to use Model 7711. Since it was replacing an old modem/router, the Model 7711 greatly increased our speed, both in wi-fi and in Ethernet (with four Ethernet ports).

We even now get a speed a little higher than what we are paying to Xfinity. We certainly can recommend the Model 7711, especially if you ever have possible plans to add Xfinity Voice to your package.

Plus, unlike other brands of modem/routers, Motorola comes with a 2 year warranty!.

The first thing that struck me about this router when a removed it from the box, is that it is huge. Upon further inspection, I found it’s huge size is unnecessary. It could be at least 20-30% smaller.

Not only is it huge, there is no way to mount it on a wall. I had to make my own brackets to do so. Plugging in USB devices are very cumbersome because of the excess size of it leaving the ports deep inside the case.

The same can be said about the two outer antennas. It took me several attempts at setting it up because it kept giving me a an webpage error after trying to set a password and had to reset it to factory defaults no less than 3 times.

I’m no stranger in setting up routers. I’ve been setting them up since I got my first one about 20 years ago. Once it was setup I do like the Dashboard and I love the Network Map feature. However the UI is a bit sluggish as a whole.

It has no way to group MAC addresses together to disable them if necessary like some of their other routers do. Once again the choices for DDNS service providers are exceptionally weak. You have to be careful with the Geo-Filter as you can narrow it so much, you will not be able to connect to your favorite games at all.

The Ping Heatmap has a very limited amount of online games you can use. What’s strange is in the Geo-Filter I can select Overwatch, but in the Ping Heatmap, it’s not even listed. So I don’t know how that is supposed to work.

Overall it’s an ok router. I’m not that impressed by it.

I bought this the 1st week of April and was excited with my purchase, I replaced a Linksys 32x gaming router with this one, and I assumed that it was an upgrade boy I was wrong. The Net Duma software is glitchy, fails to functions, and struggles to do the advertised functions.

I figured I needed a firmware update and I believe it did a total of 3 but no improvement. I had the router reset itself to factory settings multiple times just for hitting the reboot option, devices lose connectivity and not connect for up to 24 hours later.

All my cameras became unresponsive to view and ironically lags in matches. I hit up customer service via web and they wanted to do the basic troubleshooting usually done with people clueless with tech.

Left me hanging for a few days while they “sent it over” to another department to resolve. Yea no pretty easy to jump in my car and buy a competitor. I’m sorry but check the Netduma forum and look at all the issues and people claiming its an expensive brick.

Its pretty basic netgear sell a product that you plug in and works. I bought a Linksys comparable in value and guess what it works flawlessly. Defective Radio?May be doesn’t make up for the glitchy software.

Easy enough to install and works well. Had an improvement in Gbps speeds. However, Providers make it very difficult to self install! In this case, Comcast. Yes, it works, but we’re getting no where near the download and upload speeds we pay for! Buying your own WiFi system is getting to be a lose/lose proposition! The equipment is getting more and more expensive and the service providers are making it more and more difficult to connect and get the speeds you’re paying for! Was getting about 90 Gbps download and 20 Gbps upload with previous equipment (Netgear CM500v Modem and Asus RT-AC68P (from 2013).

With this new router, speeds have increased to 120-150 Gbps Upload (depending on time of day/traffic) and 30 Gbps Upload. Not the greatest considering the cost of almost $700 (including the Netgear Nighthawk XR1000 Router and CM2050V modem).

According to our ISP (Xfinity) we should be getting 900 Gbps – That’s what we pay for, at least. Considering returning and just renting Xfinity’s equipment. Typically, modems with routers built in do k no it have the range needed.

Same product as the one I’ve been using about 4 years. My old one still works, but the charging port wouldn’t work any more. The used one I bought was twenty percent of what a new one would cost. Looks and works perfectly.

One of the better purchases I have made. Free shipping as well. A very good investment for me.

Very Best you can get to hook up 10 devices at one time. If you have 4g where u live and take it to some place that only has 3g coverage then u can turn it to 3g! Once you go to the Verizon store and get your sim card(always free if u have an account or r setting up one!) install and start surfing superfast 4g LTE! Where I live in Maine (Ughhhhhhhh) Verizon has not as good of coverage a US Cellular, I have same Router just says US Cellular on it.

4g Is faster then satellite, DSL through phone company, dial up and so on. The only thing I have seen faster then 4g is through the cable company but cant get that where I live and u cant take Cable internet on the go with you! They r all password protected and the password is changeable.

Great little hotspot! Read some other depressing reviews about people having problems and decided to try it for myself. Very different from what i was expecting. My laptop hooked up as well as my smart tv with no issues and both were able to run on wifi with no issues.

Its cheap and worth every penny!.

This was just what I needed. I have a very old Verizon Unlimited Grandfathered plan. There are NO options for high speed internet in my area besides satellite, which is pretty much pointless. I had trouble initially in connecting, because OTHER 4G carriers in my area have stronger signals, so it wanted to roam.

But I was able to manually pick VERIZON as the only signal the modem could use, and viola^, I have a brand new modem for my sim card! THEN a Netgear router with two satellite mesh wifi system went on sale at Walmart, and that worked so well, I bought another set! Happy camper!.

I bought this to hook to my Sprint service. You need the IMEI number before Sprint will give (sell) you the SIM card to make it active. I bought the device and then called Sprint to get the SIM card.

“Oh. That IMEI won’t work on our network. ” So I called Verizon. That device isn’t supported. So just what network does this work on? At $130, it’s just an expensive door stop but not big enough to hold a door.

Awesome cell modem, easily networked. I bought this to solve a connection problem with a DSL line at our church. When I got the sim card in (If you are using a tablet SIM card, buy an adapter kit, takes mini not nano sim) I then had to log into the modem to get it to connect first time.

It runs great. Solved our upload problem for weekend worship. Rock solid. Add the external Netgear modem and this thing has a good connection. Next step is possibly an outdoor antenna. I did not need wireless, but if you do slap on a router and you will be good to go.

So far I’m very happy with the MR5200. I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks though. I have been the unhappy recipient of a long term power outage so this has been quite a test. ( Snowstorm packing very wet and heavy snow.

Many thousands if trees and power lines down. ) My 5g Samsung S20 for the first 4 or 5 days of the power outage couldnt get any internet, and the phone service wasn’t great. But, even though I have AT&T for my Samsung and my Netgear, the Netgear has worked very well.

When I couldnt get out with a straight shot on my phone, I was able to use WI FI phone service and that worked great. I bought a highly directional antenna for the netgear but with the massive amount of snow everywhere I haven’t been able to figure out where it needs to go.

However, even with one bar signal strength depending on where I set the netgear, I can still get enough data speed ( even during peak hours ) to stream 1080P video. I did think I had a WI FI issue with the netgear but have found its apparently a Vudu/Fandango problem.

( I seem to be having problems I never had until Vudu merged with Fandango. )The movie “Contact” keeps giving me “slow internet” warnings. I did several speed checks and at that time I was getting 60 mbps.

So no, it was NOT a internet connection issue. For experimentation reasons I tried several different movies on Vudu and only had trouble with ” Contact “. But get this. If I restarted the movie from the beginning, it was fine.

But if I did ANY FFWD OR REV it would hang up repeatedly after that. So never assume it’s anything in particular. Experiment. Let this be a warning to those of you like myself who has 100 videos I “Own” on Vudu.

I will not buy any more Vudu movies. If your internet goes down or has trouble or the service isnt working well, “YOUR” movie can be useless. Buy the Blu_Ray or 4K discs. Players are very cheap and give the best quality picture available.

And if you don’t “need” to have a movie right at its release date, they are cheaper than buying a movie online. Often even cheaper that renting a movie online. The battery in the Netgear lasts at least 8 hours.

(I havent pushed it. ) So thats a plus. On the occasion or two that I had any trouble a reboot fixed said problem. And it reboots pretty quickly. Ive been at this adress for ten years and this is the first time I’ve ever had fast and reliable internet.

I’m in a rural area and there are few choices available. And with this recent and Id say very harsh test of power lines, trees, and I’m sure cell phone infrastructure problems, I am really so very happy with the NetgearMR5200.

To repeat. The first several days of power outage, my new 5g Samsung phone was of little or no use. But even though I have the phone and the Netgear running on AT&T, the Netgear has not let me down at all.

Even with a mile of snow laden trees in between me and the closest cell tower/antenna.

I bought this a couple of months ago and for the most part I’m pleased with it. I keep it hooked up to my home router all the time and have never used it for a mobile router. I did take it out in my yard once and saw speeds over 200 Mbps more than once.

It’s not unusual to see speeds of 130 Mbps inside my home and that’s a lot better than DSL which was 6 Mbps. The only issue I have with the MR5200 is that it will drop 5G and change to 4G. I can understand it doing that if 5G is not available but if 5G is available it should reconnect to 5G on it’s on but it doesn’t.

I can reboot the M5 or turn the power off and then back on and it will reconnect to 5G. It’ll do this most every day. I ended up putting the power supply on a timer and set it to power off at 5:00 a.

m. and power back on at 5:01 a. m. but that still doesn’t take care of this issue all the time. It being a 5G router it should always be connected to 5G if it’s available.

This Hotspot is by far the best in the industry. It was easy to set up and understand the instructions (I only had to read the 1st page ). Right after putting in SIM card from my carrier ,I was up and running.

I’m able to get from 288Mbps (during high traffic from the carrier ) to 675Mbps in the evening and around 800 later at night. This Hotspot is very powerful,easy to use and reliable. It is a bit pricey but it is the only one of its kind and the same type from carriers are priced about the same but you get stuck in a contract.

We’re also in an inflation bubble right now so everything is costing a lot more. If you are thinking about buying a Hotspot and are thinking about buying one, just do it and stop thinking about it. This guy can do a lot of things and make it easy to get the internet wherever you go.

I installed it in our home, signal from outside (window sill) is one or two bars, and the booster does project basically that same signal into a handful of rooms in our house, but definitely doesn’t go from 2 to 4 or 5, or anywhere like that, and only really provides that signal in the handful of rooms near the receiving unit.

Our home is 4k sf plus, and has bedrooms on both sides, with common living area in the middle. Boost unit is in the window in the middle of the home (common area), and receiving unit is down one hallway towards the bedrooms.

On that side of the house where the receiving unit is, the two-bar signal from the window exists (which is better than before), but there is no better signal in the main part (common living area) where the boost unit actually sits, and there is no signal at all down on the other side of the house.

This was disappointing to me, as I thought the signal from the booster in the window would be projected throughout the house, but it isn’t, as the only “boost” experienced is in the rooms near the receiver unit, and nothing at all near the boosting unit, nor the other side of the house.

I looked to see if maybe i could buy another receiver, and put that on the other side of the house, but that doesn’t seem to be an option unfortunately. Anyhow, I guess it’s okay to bring the same 2 bar external signal from outside to those rooms that had no signal prior, but it definitely isn’t a solution for “up to 13k sf” as the product says online.

So, day one on this review. First the people at Cel-Fi were amazingly helpful, and I had many calls with them to discuss thoughts, and potential issues I thought could be a problem. Also, a big thanks to my sales guy Kyle he was great to work with over months while I tried to digest information to get the best product for my son.

Now let’s discuss the product. I went with this system because it didn’t require an external antenna. USAFA isn’t going to let you put an antenna on their building. Cadets also are reasigned rooms. I wanted something he could move with ease.

He had 1-2 bars at the window:( system on “bam!” 5 bars. The system was easily concealed so he doesn’t get blasted on room inspection. I used 2 sided tape 3M. Wave app worked awesome. Now, his dorm is small, but after talking with tech support at CF.

I positioned beds, desk and vanity between units. If you’re a Verizon customer and you walk down the hall. 3 bars in front of his room.

nice booster without all the cables and simple plug in play installation . . . boosts a couple of bars – and no more dropped calls . . . Wilson/signal booster has been great to deal with …

This is the third router I’ve purchased trying to maintain reasonably fast signal within all corners of our approx. 2500-2750 sq. ft home, with a reliable connection for over 25 regular clients on the network, and upwards of 10 or more guest devices during peak family visits.

Also needed something that would extend to our detached garage, approx. 40′ from the router, with exterior walls in the line of sight between the router and inside the garage. In the house on the same floor, speeds are reaching 400-500 mbps, upper and lower floors are seeing 100-200 mbps, and the garage is achieving 25-75 mpbs depending on the location in the garage, plenty to stream YouTube video on the TV.

User Interface for setup and management of the router has a number of advanced tweaking functionality, but includes a basic mode for unfamiliar users, making it super easy to setup and manage for anyone.

Bonus, AX model router supports TP-Link Mesh networking, whereas the upgrade model the AX50 and 55 don’t currently support it. Just something to consider, as the mesh setup may not be on your list of needs.

Will update the review on stability and longer term performance.

Short review – This is a “mid range” wifi 6 (ax) router that will work and exceed most people’s expectations for its price. Details – This is a wifi 6 router, which means it supports the new wifi convention ax, the previous ones were known as ac, n, g which have now been renames as wifi 5, 4, 3.

This means that newer devices that are wifi 6 compatible will really benefit from the new tech which will clear up any congestion on your home network. But if you are using older devices that only have an ac wifi card in your device, do not worry, ALL wifi 6 routers are rated for backwards compatibility.

With Wifi 6 , it also comes with MU-MIMO technology, which in laymans terms means you will be getting much better stable connections between all your devices. The 1800 in the ax1800 stands for up to 574mbps on 2.

4ghz channel and 1201 mbps on 5 ghz channel. Frankly I am not sure what the difference between the Archer AX20 vs AX21, since both are listed as Archer AX1800. This might just be something to differentiate between retailers.

As far as I can tell on their website the specs are the same across the board. Ethernet ports are rated for gigabit, so thats going to be plenty for most of residential users. The USB port is unfortunately only 2.

0, but can still hook up your hdd for a network storage solution. I have this placed in a central location in the house, coming from from a dual band ac600 (300/300) router, I am getting amazing speeds, but importently I am getting 5-4 bars in all 7 rooms in the house, 4 on the same level as the router, with 2-3 walls in between, and the 3 rooms in the basement.

I am slowly getting more wifi 6 devices, such as my smartphones, laptop (you can easily upgrade wifi cards in your laptops), ps5 and I am getting amazing wifi speeds. I pay for the 1000 mbps internet service, and at best I was getting around 450 on the 5ghz channel about 10 feet away, with one wall.

Now on the TP Link AX20, I am now getting 800-900 on the 5hz channel about 10 feet away with one wall.

For an affordable dual band router, this was a great upgrade. We’re consistently getting download and upload speeds that are twice as fast as our 5-year-old tri-band Netgear router, and even with one less antenna, the issues with devices with being dropped from the network or connectivity crawling to a snails pace because the network gets overwhelmed have virtually disappeared.

Now, we are two people living in a 2-bedroom apartment with gig internet via fiber in a well-connected urban area. We both work from home and have had several meetings with six people using the home’s connection all at once, and the router has handled all that capably.

I’ve been able to have video calls while five people are working in the kitchen, no problem. However, we’ve noticed a significant drop-off in signal strength in the bedroom, so I imagine this router would be unsuitable for a larger space (honestly, it wasn’t designed for that).

But for getting into 6th-gen internet for under $130, you’d be hard-pressed to do better.

I have tried many products around the same price range and this just knocks them out all of them. It supports 2 sims at the same time with 2 antennas. You can auto failover based on traffic restrictions or latency.

The WiFi is 2. 4 GHz but it is quite strong Im using it on a bit so it more then enough. The antennas that it cons with the device are more then enough but you can buy external as well. It also comes Witt gps so you can track your boat or Rv.

The only problem I saw is that I had to by additional 12v cable to plug it to my battery as it comes only with power brick from 220v. That was another 12 but I do t regret even for second ordering it.

And the software is more the adequate. Especially if you know what you are doing.

Been putting this unit through its paces and has not missed a beat with everything I have tossed at it. One thing I would recommend is changing out the antennas for at least the wifi side, mobile side well that all depends on where you are in town the stock antennas work well.

Product worked well. I used an AT&T sim card in it and it came right online without much fuss. It seems well made, and it is a good value for the price. The GPS function works and the administration interface is well done.

Full disclosure. I purchased NETGEAR Orbi 753S from Costco not Amazon, because Costco offered 1 year of Free Technical Support not NETGEAR’s 90 Day standard Technical Support contract. After Unboxing and setting up, I already had my first call into Technical Support, as the product was not plug and play like advertised.

Many devices that use 2. 4G not 5G had issues trying to connect to system. Trying to get help from Tech. Support is impossible! After long wait times on hold (30 minutes to over 1 hour) you will hit a call center based in a foreign country, so language barriers exist and are quite prevalent.

The system seems to be very quirky, as it may work for multiple days and weeks flawlessly, but then for no reason, quite working altogether or have satellites drop in and out causing your wi-fi connected devices to stop functioning properly.

The system is set up with warning lights on the router and the satellites to warn you of issues with the system, but unfortunately ghost lights do occur according to Tech. Support, and they have no solutions to fix the issue.

Costco 1 year Technical Support is not worth the paper (Box) it is written on, because after the 90 days I have spoken with multiple technicians who want to charge you on a per call basis to fix the issue, which never really seems to get resolved.

Unless you are a programmer, or no something about programming, Technical support often leads you through going to a login, and completing multiple steps (writing code) which is supposed to fix the issues, but never does.

NETGEAR is interested in the initial sale of the Orbi, and then signing you up for a service contract after the free 90 days of support that can cost anywhere from $140 to $220. That may work for you, but when you have a product that is warranted for 1 year, try getting your product repaired or replaced for free when Technical support won’t even talk to you because you have not signed up for their service contract.

This is pure extortion on NETGEARS part because they know that they have a product that will need Technical help at some point, and if you are unwilling to pay for it, you basically have a paperweight not a router with Wi-Fi extenders.

DO NOT BUY! This issue seems to be prevelant on all NETGEAR Routers and Extenders!.

I bought this system to provide wifi for our small church. We have roughly 5000 sq. ft. of space, so I purchased the 2 satellite version, but one may have been enough. I was getting pretty good coverage before plugging in the second unit.

Setup is not complicated, but it is helpful to read the instructions to understand how the system is designed. The units all look the same. The router is identifiable only by the stickers on it. Each unit has its own set of LAN ports.

By default, it comes with profiles for each of the 4 SSIDs that indicate how each might be used: Administration, employee devices, Internet of Things (IOT), and guest. The guest setup assumes you will want to obtain and agreement for terms of use before proceeding.

The network shows as unsecured. The password you set it taken as part of the agreement process. There does not seem to be a way to change this behavior, but it may be that I missed it. The Virtual LAN (VLAN) profiles can be changed for each SSID, and that determines the level of access each client has and whether it can see other clients on the network.

Since I did not want to use the agreement process at this time and we don’t really need a separate employee network, I applied the guest profile to the employee SSID to create the standard wifi password connection I was looking for.

The routers interface is easy enough to use, but one should be aware that when configuring the wifi profiles changes must be applied before leaving the tab for that network, and the process of saving the changes seems to take much longer than it should, apparently due to the way that the router shares it’s configuration with the satellites.

The router does have features for virtual DNS and remote management if desired, as well as facility for creating a DMZ for Internet facing servers. We have not yet put any real stress on the network, but throughput seems to be good.

I may need to update this after we’ve had more time with it, but so far it seems like a solid system. I will be considering a Netgear product the next time I need a new router for my home.

We have subscribed to Gigabit internet service for a couple of years and since my home office is the furthest distance away from the wifi router, I would struggle with much slower speeds and internet stability/connectivity issues during video calls.

I started researching mesh wifi router systems which led me to the Orbi WiFi 6 system (RBK750 series). Initially, because we live in an older home with plaster walls and other physical obstacles (i. e.

the plumbing, tile and porcelain in bathrooms all likely add some interference), the wifi mesh did help my internet reliability, but it did not help my download speeds. After two cable company visits and more research, it became clear the solution was putting a wifi mesh satellite in my home office and then using an ethernet cable to connect my laptop directly to the satellite.

Even though the signal to the satellite is still coming over the mesh wifi wirelessly, the speeds coming directly out of the satellite via the ethernet cable are VASTLY improved! Before this solution, I was averaging 100Mbps to 150Mbps and a ping of 14 to 18 (using speedtest.

net) to now averaging 500Mbps to 600Mbps and a ping of 9 to 12!! The other satellite in our system with a more direct site line to the main wifi router is averaging 800 Mbps using this same connection setup!! Now that everything is set up, it is working flawlessly and I am very happy with the results!.

Excellent Router. Set up very smooth with Comcast. You can activate the device yourself using comcast app or web which is so nice not having to wait for support. Love the combo modem router as it eliminates a box and a power supply and the cabling from modem to router.

Also since these devices are made by the same company compatibility config issues are eliminated. Now I can easily move this device which is fairly compact easily from one area of my home to another if I need to.

One hint I would like to give the small pct of people who are getting dropped connections is to install a wall timer that reboots the router in the middle of the night. I had a R7000 nighthawk that seemed fo get messed up especially when connecting multiple times to netflix and or amazon prime.

The timer turns off at 2am and back on at 201 am. That solved all my dropped connection issues. I will see if I get similar issues with this router and if so I will plug it into the timer. So far (only 2 days) but working perfectly.

Wifi signal strength is very good and even a little stronger than the R7000 which is amazing as it has no external antennas. One more tip for those who do not see the 5g wifi signal. Change the “channel” for the 5g band from 156 to 48 or test other channels until the 5g signal shows up.

I was running an older DOCSIS 3. 0 router combo and needed an upgrade badly. I got a deal on the Nighthawk and instantly saw speeds increase. I was getting 100mb download speed at best on my PC Wi-Fi.

Now it’s 250mb consistently. That means way better range as my PC is in my furthest bedroom from the router. The Coax cable was a bit snug and took some maneuvering to get on. At least it’s on tight lol.

Most importantly, the Nighthawk app was a bit finicky when I set it up. After calling my internet provider to activate the modem/router, I still couldn’t get on the network. Make sure to download the app and make every attempt to login to the router and change your network name and password.

You can also do this from a web browser, but it has to be on the network first. Overall, I’m very happy with the upgrade. I didn’t find out it’s DOCSIS 3. 0 until after I set it up. I guess I don’t really need DOCSIS 3.

1 as long as this continues to work. Bonus: props to Netgear support for getting back to me quickly about registering an already registered product(bought it on OfferUp). They were effective at communicating and making things easy.

I’d buy another Netgear product because of that experience.

My internet provider is Xfinity and my plan is for speeds of up to 400 mbps. I bought this router to replace an outdated model which wasn’t compatible with my service—the old router was only delivering ~160 mbps download speed via Ethernet.

The Netgear Nighthawk was a MAJOR upgrade and easy to connect. Instructions & activation was straightforward and took >10 minutes total. Simply used the Xfinity app to activate, entered mac address located on router label, and boom setup+activation was complete, (no hellish phone calls to Comcast tech support needed).

Easily customizable WiFi name too. I performed some tests and was actually getting above the 400 mbps included in my Xfinity plan (~480 mbps via Ethernet connection). Has dual band transmitter (2. 4ghz + 5ghz) and the range is phenomenal.

Sleek design and well made. Very satisfied. 24×8 channels is a great value and provides more than enough speed to stream valorant on twitch while playing on the same pc with upwards of 144 fps consistently.

I was a little skeptical when this arrived but turned out to be an amazing product. It came with the best OS you could get in one of these. I love to play around with this and my son is studying for his CCNP tests so this was just what he needed.

needless to say would buy again. I would recommed this to anyone interested in routing, switching etc. Definetly 10/10 pros and cons: +sturdier than my babushka +more powerful than my babushka beating with a meat hammer +lots of configurability -not for large enterprises.

This router has everything for a small office or better! It could be called a Swiss Army Router. My ISP didn’t get any excuse. That’s awesome
