20 Best Nerf Guns Under $20 (2023 Updated)

I love this reskin for the Jolt blaster. It is the simplest and easiest blaster to use across the board. The pull action can be done by almost any child. The accuracy is amazing and the distance is honestly shocking from such a small blaster.

It shoots so far I always want it as a sidearm for battling. The price is perfect! Not like the other skins with more branding. Simple and perfect! I have bought a lot of these at full price.

I bought two Nerf N-Strike Elite Jolt Blaster, Includes 2 Official Nerf Darts as holiday gifts to a set of twins my son is friends with and they were hit. The limited to two darts is great for both dart control and decreases the inevitable darts all over home.

I am pleased with my Nerf N-Strike Elite Jolt Blaster, Includes 2 Official Nerf Darts pirchase, most likely buy again and I recommend to others.

I got my son this and he had a very difficult time pulling the thing down on the bottom in order to shoot the dart. You have to pull considerably hard on the bottom part in order to be able to fire the dart.

So I would not recommend this for anyone with younger kids. Maybe wait till their 9 or 10. Unless of course your kids got good upper body strength.

Hammer action plus Mega Darts = Greatness! I got 2 more because of how much we liked the first one! Allows for fun interaction with the gun and fires tough! Never gets old to hear the whistle of the mega darts either.

The only con I’ve noticed with it’s integrity is a slight wiggle of the barrel, but it’s very easy to ignore once you get running around. Got the second 2 on sale for 10 bucks each Amazing value on dual wield flares that look like beefed-up revolvers.

this was a holiday gift for my child. When I say it’s been fun to play with my kids, it is hours of fun. the accuracy of the shot is pretty impressive and the most hilarious part is that the bullet whistles when it travels and it makes my child laugh so much as it hits.

I feel this will last because the quality of the toy is great And my kid throws it everywhere and it has not yet cracked. I definitely recommend it to any other Fortnite fan. It does come with three bullets and is a single shot nerf gun but I ended up purchasing more bullets on Amazon.

This little Nerf gun gets some serious distance. My son was surprised at the performance of the small gun. Compared to most Nerf guns he says the cocking mechanism is pretty easy for him to pull (maybe a little tougher for younger kids).

It isn’t a convenient motion while in the process of battle but with only 2 shots it isn’t the type of Nerf gun you go into a serious fire fight with either. It has some zip when shot that he was surprised about.

His only complaint was that the handle to hold onto is a little too square and blocky. Otherwise it is his new favorite sidearm.

So this nerf gun is about the size of my hand. It’s colorful, but I wish it had more details on it, like the package says Minecraft but, there aren’t any characters or anything on it that really scream Minecraft.

It came with 2 bullets, they’re foam with a rubber tip. It’s was easy to load them into the guns barrel and then you pull a little handle to cock the gun, the trigger is super easy to pull. The gun has a lot of strength and the bullets actually kind of hurt when they hit you.

My boys had a lot of fun playing with it! They both thought it was amazing and it kept them busy for a while so I’m happy too!.

This compact sized little nerf shooter is really fun to carry and play with in your nerf battles. It comes with 2 darts and can load 1 dart at a time making it pretty easy for little hands to operate.

Loading the dart is really easy. The handle pulls down without much pressure also making it easy for little hands. It doesn’t take any batteries so it’s ready to go right out of the package. This is a fun little toy if you are looking for something simple for a younger child that can be entertained by a 1-dart at a time gun and who also loves Minecraft themed toys.

The box it came in was opened. As well as the items box. The items box also was very badly damaged. Considering I thought I bought this new Im very upset. We checked our security cameras and nobody touched the package after it was on our porch.

You can tell as they walked it up that the box was opened at one end. The item looks like it works though. Its a gift so I wont know for awhile.

Missing parts. Good thing we checked before giving it for a gift. The box was banged up which i thot ok we can tape it. Upon looking inside it looks like it was a used product.

Nerf guns are a favorite it our house! My seven-year-old son loves having battles with my husband and his friends. This is one of my son’s favorite Nerf guns. The ability to hold 15 bullets makes it one of the “higher capacity” Nerf guns he has, even though loading the gun seems to be a little more tedious than those with the “magazine” style chambers.

It shoots a pretty good distance and is fairly accurate.

We got invited to a Nerf party and this gun was the favorite of the group. We all took turns using it among tons of others. Small and big. I had a blast using this one. The bullets would get stuck occasionally so they was the only negative.

It’s cool that it holds so many rounds. Less reloading. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Find it at Walmart or Target.

Walmart exclusive, competitor to the Nerf Rapidstrike. Most people will undoubtedly compare this to Nerf/ Hasbro’s famed Rapidstrike blaster, and with the automatic fire, it is easy to see why. The Hyperfire has cool design cues reminiscent of some fantasy video games and real life firearms.

Most kids should find this easy to hold, I would imagine, because the thumb hole handle grip is on the small side, but adults with large hands may find it awkward and uncomfortable, a con. The acceleration trigger is conveniently placed directly behind the magazine trigger, a plus.

The blaster is heavier but at least somewhat balanced due to the 4 D batteries (not included) being located in the back of the blaster in the shoulder stock area, which has a nice cheek-rest. Looking at the only tactical rail on the blaster, it is apparent that the attachment point is small and almost guarantees that you will need to take off the attachment before you can fix a jam because it is so close to the jam door.

If it is of any concern, there are several sling mounts on the blaster. The Hyperfire is compatible with any standard-sized Nerf Elite Darts (blue, green, white, orange, and decorated Rebelle darts) and magazine/drum-fed Nerf “clip system” darts.

The Hyperfire boasts the highest Dart Per Second (DPS) rating of 5. That means for every second at peak rev, you shot 5 darts, and that also means that you have pretty much emptied your entire 25 dart drum by the time it takes the average person to finish reading to the end of this sentence.

I have tested this blaster, and yes, is fit’s Drac’s (a Nerf blaster guru) pre-release description of it being a “dart-hose. ” But how does it achieve this? My examination of the dart-feeding mechanism yields that it is a conveyor belt under the jam door.

Literally, it is IN the jam access door. This suggests that as the belt turns, short tabs on the belt snag the darts and push them towards the flywheels. Upon contact with the flywheels the dart is propelled, which Bobololo (another Nerf blaster Guru) has indicated that the Hyperfire makes use of canted (angle) flywheels, which uses slightly off-angle flywheels to put a spin on the darts.

This spin is perfect for the stock setup, but for modders who want to use higher voltage/amperage batteries it may be a challenge. There are several reasons why modding this blaster will not be easy, but I will keep things simple with 3 of the more prominent reasons: 1.

) the conveyor belt design feeding mechanism is ineffective at a higher speed RPM (rotations per minute) than what it was designed to operate at and may also need extensions on it’s tiny tab arms or “nubs” that only scrape at the top of the base of the darts.

Also, it will eventually need to be replaced (it is made of mortal rubber after all, and time will inevitably cause it to become brittle and break) and the availability of replacement parts will be doubtful unless there is an aftermarket company that will be willing to make them.

2. ) the canted flywheels spin the dart and the Elite Nerf dart design tends to spin out of control at higher RPM, interrupting the stability of flight, resulting in inaccurate and shorter distances.

3. ) the internals have surprisingly little to no space to do anything in the more important places (like the acceleration/rev trigger) despite being a bulky blaster with a lot of space in unimportant areas (like the lower front grip).

Finally, like Coop (yet another Nerf blaster guru), I have a ProChrono Digital chronograph which I used to measure the dart velocity of each shot. The average Feet Per Second (FPS) of the Hyperfire’s shots at peak rev was 72 FPS.

The FPS of each dart at maximum DPS would naturally be weaker, that is, in the mid 60 FPS range. Now with a pair of LiPo AA batteries, a pair of dummy spacers, and 4 AA to D Battery adapters I had laying around, I found that the average FPS jumped to 80 FPS at peak rev without any other modifications.

All 3 of the aforementioned Nerf gurus have warned of potential jamming issues with the use of old or misshapen darts because of the short nubs on the conveyor-belt feeding mechanism missing the scrawny or thinner dart as a result of being stepped on or overused.

From my personal experience, the blaster had not jammed using several different aftermarket darts of varying conditions, but the Hyperfire did stumble a few times during the chronograph testing. In conclusion, I think the Hyperfire lives up to it’s Hype, and is a great candidate for Walmart’s best exclusive to date.

Time and durability will be the ultimate judge of this though, and I will try to update my review if I encounter any problems that I may feel will change my generous 5-star rating.

Overall, it’s a fun blaster. The blaster itself works as expected. It’s a full auto flywheel blaster that shoots darts at a faster rate than a Rapidstrike in stock form. I’m sure for the target age group the grip is fine.

This review is mostly for the older kids (teens and adults that are kids at heart). The grip is not very comfortable. I’m a very average sized person with normal sized hands, and the thumb-hole part of the grip digs into my palm and I can’t grip comfortably how my hand naturally wants to grip.

I wish Nerf had copied the Rayven grip style and had the connection between the grip and stock much lower to allow a hand to fully seat on the grip. I looked at early reviews from Nerfers who admittedly are tall with large hands, so I was expecting to not have a problem myself being average sized.

I’m here to state that even for an average sized teen or adult the grip is not comfortable. I hate to admit it because I really want to love this blaster, but I have to be honest about the ergonomics.

For the people that like to mod their blasters I honestly feel the Rapidstrike is a better option as it’s more comfortable and you can mod it to a performance level that is very good with a very fast rate of fire with a high dart speed and more reliable dart loading when using older worn out darts.

My son is Nerf gun fan in general. He seems to always know when new models are coming out. He has quite the collection built up over the years. He was really excited to own the Ultra Strike since he didn’t have any from the Ultra line yet.

He was not dissapointed one bit! He told me that this is the most powerful Nerf gun he has ever owned. He really likes the special bullets and they automated feel of the fun. It fits well in his hands and the batteries seem to last a long time.

This is a battery powered nerf gun. It does hurt to get hit with the darts so I would just be cautious around young kids. For older children, this is a ton of fun. My 14 year old was excited to have the ergonomic grips and having the power to knock over empty soda cans used as targets.

We are a big nerf gun family and so far this is on the top of our list. It has the shoulder bump to reduce kick back.

First off, wow. The power and speed of this Nerf gun is top notch. It has great range and reloading it is quick. The darts do sting a little so definitely watch out. Our entire family loves Nerf and we enjoy using them.

This one has a reloadable clip. There is a power button and then it’s on!.

Surprisingly, the nerf guns look ok. The box was poorly packaged for shipping. It looked like it was shipped in a torn black plastic trash bag. The nerf gun box was ripped in 4 places. That is not how I want my Christmas presents to look.

It first was scheduled to arrive on Thursday, Dec. 17, then delayed to Monday, Dec. 21, and finally arrived a week later on Monday, Dec. 28, 3 days after Christmas. This review is more about the shipping than the product itself.

Not for 7 or 8 year olds. Very difficult to pull back. I bought 8 of these guns for my daughter’s 8th birthday party so her friends could all play. I will be returning and get guns either motorized or ones that have a two finger pull back.

This gun is also too hard for grandma and grandpa. Also if u hold gun with right hand it hits your thumb knuckle and will make a blister or raw spot. So use a bunnion pad and adhere where your knuckle hits.

Im guessing that may work. Silicone gel or felt pad. This gun shoots really far and would be great for teenagers. Good price.

First off with it being nerf I would expect more shot accuracy! Second the really have no attachments worth getting for the elite! I know they have the modulous system and all but the elite should have elite upgrade system!shots fire far to the right one one and random on the second one I bought tonight.

Pretty tough to pull the pump even for me I have trouble at full combat speed. Would be almost impossible to to dual wield with these as it is hard to load unless a sling was used! They look super cool but would be impractical in a nerf firefight competition! All in all not bad just expect more from nerf!!!.

Think the kids just really liked this so much because it was Fortnite. As far as Nerf guns go, there is nothing fancy about this one other than it looks like a gun from the game Fortnite. I think there are better products in the Nerf catalog but I’m not the one playing with this all the time.

I’m so excited about this gun. I have made a point to attack my man when he gets home from work. We are now looking at getting more guns. Especially for the sneak attack. This gun is easy to cock which helps when attack.

The only down side is putting the darts in. But you get over that. They have a pretty accurate shot. I got my man hand from about 25 ft away. It has a little whistling sound when. The darts go too which is dope.

Pretty comfortable on your hands. But the darts do hurt so I suggest not for the tiny tots. Totally would but more of these.

Love and my children absolutely adore this toy I had bought one and my other child loves it so I purchased a second one. It’s not just for boys, girls also adore this toy and anyone who plays fortnite can appreciate this toy as well as people who love nerfguns.

This blaster shoots hard & fast! Very satisfying to see how fast and far the darts go. Now these ultra darts aren’t the best in accuracy but they tend to shoot a bit better out of spring powered blasters.

The looks of this blaster is very cool and definitely draws attention to younger Nerfers. My only complaint is the grip, not too crazy about the plastic “brass knuckles” look which kind of limits on space for average full size grown hands.

But younger kids shouldn’t have a problem with it. Very easy and smooth to prime but takes a bit more focus to load the blaster but is not completely difficult. Overall I’m satisfied with this purchase!.

My daughter and I loved to play with this. Shooting the bullets high and also far down the street. We also enjoyed shooting them at a particular object. The gun was pretty accurate to hit things, but could not shoot very far.

Seems the shots went mostly about 50 ft, far short of the ‘up to 120’ the bullets are claimed to travel. Wish the entire bullet was neon as we lost a few very rapidly in the grass and garden. Would be awesome if they were light up.

Night time fun. The magazine jammed for us several times, button on the side of the gun is small, not addressed in the manual, and we still didn’t figure out. The gun fits your hand comfortably but pulling the gun back to load each time gets old and can seemingly be tiring on your hands.

Overall it is fun to shoot but needs some improvement. Really bummed at it only shooting about one third of the claimed max distance. Fired it many times but it will not shoot that far.

what a cool toy! we got this for my son 10th birthday and he loves it. It works well. This Tri Strike comes with everything you need. I did purchase an extra pack of the Elite Mega Missiles because he didn’t have any before I figured 1 wasn’t fun enough! It’s easy to put together, he has no problems swapping parts on/off, reloading, cocking or firing.

He can comfortably carry run with it. it’s not too heavy. The stock piece it comes with makes it a little too long but it doesn’t seem to bother him.

This is what I’ve been waiting for! This is the coolest blaster ever! It comes with the first ever 10 round straight magazine. It’s a little bit more than a six round mag and less than a twelve round mag.

The barrel attachment can fit on all blasters with an attachment nozzle and gives you 4 mega darts to shoot and easily front load them. The two missle attachment parts can disconnect from the blaster and connect together to make a stand-alone blaster.

I love to make this blaster into a sniper since it is bolt action and small so you can add on other attachments to make it look like an awesome sniper. The main body of the blaster is very powerful and definetly shows elite performance! I would definetly recommend this blaster!.

I love this gun. It has so many cool features so you can stuff any dart into it. I love using it as a primary, as it is a good size, shape, and has great attachments. The missile launcher on the back is very useful, as if you only have that, you can put the launcher and stock together to make another gun.

The 10 dart magazine is very useful, as it is not like the magazine in the Nerf Modulus Ecs-10. It fits on the tactical vest better than the other magazines. The barrel is also very good, as it can serve as a gun as well.

The accuracy is unbelievable, and if you add a red dot sight, it is unstoppable.

We bought 2 of these for our sons at Christmas. Once spring came around we assembled them, which was rather easy. Much to my surprise, once the dart rail is in place, it cannot be taken out. The dart rail is about 16″ wide so it really does stick out of one side or the other rather far which makes this Nerf gun near impossible to store unless you place it on its bi-pod on a large surface.

You have to be really careful in playing with this so you don’t get hooked on things which takes the fun out of playing (when you are more worried of looking after your equipment). The gun is really big, and the bolts action takes some muscle to prep for firing.

This has become the “adults marauding” toy weapons. Unfortunate that we cannot let our sons enjoy this as much as their other Nerf items.

My son was wanting a Nerf gun for a long time. I bought him this one for his birthday. He loved it so much that he disappeared outside to play with it for hours. This says a lot about the Nerf gun because normally it is hard to get him away from his video games.

I haven’t bought it but little cousin had one at Thanksgiving and I have to say running around with the massive gun (I’m six feet tall) and setting up with the included bi-pod to try and nail a kid in eye really was fun.

The only problem was the sight I felt that I could still hit them just not well enough would buy scope for it.

Nerf Core – Nerf MicroShots Minecraft Snow Golem is a really great Nerf gun. It comes with two bullets and they are not suction cupped. They go really far and the fact that the Nerf gun is Minecraft themed is so cool.

My 17 year old son ADORES this gun as it is nostalgic from his childhood. He has played Minecraft since he was really young so it brings back memories for him and the friends that he’s met all over the country.

He even sent Snapchat videos of it to all his Xbox buddies. He collects random Minecraft memorabilia and still plays it occasionally. This gun offers easy portability as well as long distance and covert attacks.

It functions well and has a really cool look. My kid is 17 and still loves Nerf guns as well as Minecraft. It shows you mr er outgrow the things you love as a kid!.

My daughter is a huge Minecraft fan and this is her first Nerf toy. I must say for a small Nerf gun, this thing has a lot of power. The bullets are a soft foam and they shoot hard/far, so be careful not to get too close! I like that the toy is small enough for my 6 year old to hold in her hand easily and she is also able to work the toy without any help.

The only thing we’ve had trouble with is finding the bullets when they go flying across the room! We will be buying more bullets since it only comes with 2, but it seems like they are compatible with ones we can buy at the store.

The toy has been holding up really well with all of the use it’s been getting. We will be getting another one so she can play with a friend. Great toy and we would highly recommend for any Minecraft and/or Nerf fans!.

I’ve never seen a mini Nerf gun before and especially not a Minecraft one! This Nerf gun is styled to look like a Snow Golem from Minecraft and they did a great job! I didn’t expect the darts to shoot very far out very hard but this little thing packs a punch despite its small size.

It only came with 2 darts which is a bummer because they shoot far enough to get lost easily but they look like regular Nerf darts just with Snow Golem colors so I’m sure I can buy more for it. Cool little toy!.

My son loves Fortnite, really loves it. That kid will be doing dances all over the place. When I showed him this toy, he flipped his lid. He immediately went outside to pretend he was in the game. He’s eight, and the cocking mechanism worked easily for him, I know previous versions were too difficult for him to cock on his own, so its good he could do it with this one.

My children really loved this toy. It was very small and high-quality for the price. It comes with 2 darts, but darts from other Nerf toys still fit. My kids always love playing Fortnite, and this blaster is co-branded with Fortnite, a great addition.

I also like how the toy looks and how it is called a “blaster. ” I highly recommend this to other parents.

We got this toy for our two daughters. They are eight and four. They both really enjoyed this toy so did the parents. They were running around the house chasing after the darts. The toy had quite a bit of power and the darts could travel a long ways.

The toy also help up well to dropping, throwing, and being rough with it. I would recommend this product.

My kids were super excited to get this Nerf gun. It is a toy I am ok with them using in the house since the darts are so soft. It can sting a bit if you get hit up close but they figure it out. My son is 5 and he was able to use it fairly easily after some practice, but my 4 year old daughter couldn’t really grasp it just yet.

The process of flipping it around and reloading was a bit tedious. It was something my husband had to constantly help them with, especially because it would stick when trying to push forward to reload.

For whatever reason, the darts are now falling out really easily when we put them in. So I’m not sure how long the toy will last, but they do have fun when they use it.

Although this is a great gun, it is quite powerful. You could take an eye out with the power you get behind this little bugger! With that said, we don’t play with it in the house, AT ALL!

Bought these for my four yr old nerf party party and it was success. The guest age ranged for four to 12 and everyone was able to operate the guns with no assistance needed from an adult

Small but good size for a little kid

My 8 year old son loves this gun! He says it’s like playing Fortnite in real life. It has 4-dart hammer action so you can fire 4 darts in a row before having to reload. It’s cool to be able to use the gun while it has the removable scope on it.

The scope really helps you line up your shot. Even my 2 year can use the gun. He has watched the older kids use at and knows how to pull back the hammer, and pull the trigger. This gun has sparked my families interest back into Nerf products and we plan one getting one for everyone in the family so we can all go at it in the backyard.

I also like how to doesn’t require batterie. It’s a ton of fun!!.

This nerf gun comes with 8 darts and you can load up to four darts at a time. You pull the hammer back to prime it than pull the trigger and watch it fly!! It can shoot up to 85ft which is amazing for the size of this nerf gun.

It also comes with a cool little scope to help you line up your shot and believe it or not the scope is pretty accurate! It looks just like the gun they use in Fortnite so my nephew was really excited about that! This little nerf gun is pretty durable as it has been dropped a few times already and no cracks.

i love this blaster! even if you don’t like fortnite, you will still love this blaster! very cool, but also VERY big. sure, its small, but WAY bigger than what i was expecting. minus one star because the blaster’s scope’s reticle was tilted a little bit.

This Nerf gun is HUGE. The flip idea is pretty cool. Being able to shoot 32 darts without reloading is pretty awesome. You can shoot 2 darts at a time or half press to shoot one at a time. The only issues I’ve had so far is sometimes when you half pull the trigger to shoot just one dart, one of the darts in the other side “falls out”.

Like some air still got routed to that side. Also the flip action can sometime fling darts out. I think it all has to do with maybe the darts are too snug in the barrels.

This was really fun to play with! Very well built and the magazines feel sturdy, easy to load the darts and clip into the gun. The Ultra Select comes with two different colored darts, black and silver.

The black dart is for distance and the silver is a bit more accurate. I sat down and propped the gun up for less wobble when shooting. The silver accuracy darts don’t hit the same spot every time, but I would say about an inch and half diameter spot.

The black ones will fly the whole length of our house. (I dislike shooting in the yard because we always lose a bunch) Definitely need to pick up some more darts and magazines. They flew out very quickly and the 20 darts it comes with fly through very quickly.

I think I spend more time loading the magazines than shooting but it is still really fun. I haven’t used the top opening to load darts. I think it would just be easier to put in another magazine. Overall very fun cool, toy!.

My husband and son are big Nerf fans. I thought the Nerf Ultra Select Fully Motorized Blaster would be a great addition to their collection – and I was right. This Blaster definitely lives up to the Nerf name: great design, bright colors and amazing quality.

Obviously, my son was more interested in how it would shoot, and it passes with flying colors there too! This Blaster is light, easy for my eight year old to carry around. Darts fly out easily and everywhere with the motorized action.

Quite honestly, the noise isn’t too loud either – which is a plus in this mama’s book! The look(s) of pure joy on my son (and even my husband’s) face during their time together with the Blaster makes it all worth it.

Definitely recommended!.

Nerf wars! This has been an amazing addition to our family collection. We engage in daily nerf wars from the time I arrive home from work and randomly throughout the night. The Motorized Nerf blaster is exactly what I needed to add into my arsenal and I hid it inside of my car.

My kids were very surprised when I opened the door and greeted them with two clips of nerfs. It takes C batteries and the batteries have not run out quickly in spite of frequent use. The quality is terrific and there are easy directions on how to load the clips.

The Nerf blaster itself is actually lightweight so it is easy to handle and run with. If you want to add some fun and chaos into your life, you need this!.
