needles are good. arrived fast. i was forced to purchase online because ii was gifted a gift card and the store could not read the magnetic strip. the store machines are antiquated the manager could not input the gift card number by hand so i was forced to make a purchase online.

i did not want to purchase these but wanted to be done with the gift card.

Prefect needle for most jobs. I know you are suppose to use a new needle for each project but who really does that. This needle holds up through multiple different uses.

Buy the best quality needles, superb results. Be confident in sewing with these needles. I haven’t bothered changing needles until I was researching, and have now realised that you do need different needles for different jobs to get the best results.

I have purchased a range of SCHMETZ Needles to use for different fabrics. I have certainly noticed the difference.

I can depend on Schmetz needles to withstand the high speed of my embroidery machine. I had some other brands in my drawer that I tried whilst awaiting my delivery of my Schmetz needles. The other needles bent before doing 20 embroidery stitches.

When some of my designs have more than 37,000 stitches, I couldnt have produced them without Schmetz needles.

Although 80/12 (Euro/US) splits the sewing machine needle sizing chart right down the middle, I was having difficulty finding a 80/12 in stock anywhere and I didn’t want to pay double the price if I had to pay for shipping.

So I checked out these 90/14 as a universal substitute and they worked great. I switch out needles quite regularly according to the hours that each needle is used and I think I probably get about 8 to 10 hours out of each needle before I notice certain characteristics of the needle as it passes through different fabrics so I go for replacing needles rather than messing up projects.

I’ve been using Schmetz needles exclusively for the past 15 years after other needles let me down. Schmetz never does. In my opinion they are the best on the market. I have never had a burr, a bent needle or anything at all wrong with one.

Size 90/14 is my go-to for my everyday sewing needs and I sew A LOT! I do a lot of top stitching as well. I won’t use any other brand. I usually buy them in bulk.

The best needles ever I’ve used them exclusively since forever they hold up and don’t break unless you sew over a pin or something hard. I recently have had to sew on Lycra and was not having to much success so I on YouTube the suggested super stretch bot what a difference perfect stitch top and bottom.

You can never go wrong with Schmetz. Quality at affordable and reasonable prices. These are stretch needles that I bought. Next are Schmetz leather needles. I think where many sewers, especially new ones, go wrong with their sewing is by not picking the right needle {and possibly thread} for the job.

If you have the wrong needle you could end up having problems where you think something is wrong with your machine. Even a slightly bent or burred needle can make your machine act and sound like it’s on its way out.

So have lots of needles on hand for different jobs and get Schmetz. They’re stronger, stay sharp longer, and are the best bang for the buck.

Stretch needles. Worked well with crazy four way stretch felted fabric for cape so long as the feed was even and not going too fast. If you need these you probably need a walking foot.

Schmetz needles have been my choice for my embroidery machine for nearly a year. They were recommended to me by my sewing shop. I also now use them in my sewing machine. Both my machine are brothers and the Schmetz needles fit both.

Mostly i use 75/11 but I do also buy 100/16 for any faux leather i sew. Good strong reliable needles.

Two of these fit my Brother sewing machine and work for a straight stitch. The two larger needles are too wide to do anything but a straight stitch. The smallest one will do a narrow zig-zag. Brother brand twin needles are offset, while these are centered between the top post, so that’s why the wider needles hit the sewing foot on my machine when zigzagging.

But I’m a novice when it comes to sewing and these did the trick for my simple project. I love using twin needles (double the strength in the stitch!), but I’ve broken a few, so it’s nice to have these for such a good price.

An expensive fragile little sucker. I wasn’t even able to get past the practice phase with this needle. I got about a good 20 pretty dual side by side stitches before it broke. Its very fragile. One of the needles must have bent and collided with the footer.

If its your first time or youre still new with this needle try practicing with a much less expensive set.

I bought this needle a few months ago to have on hand to use for hems. I tried using it and the needle broke the third time I used it! (I was testing on scraps). Very disappointed. I was only sewing 2 layers of 100% cotton interlock- next time I will buy a name brand specifically for knits- still disappointing.

These needles work perfectly with my finicky embroidery machine, which had a nasty habit of constantly breaking threads with needles labelled for “embroidery” on thicker materials.

haven’t used them yet, bought them for an (in case I need them ) thing. Never seen them before and have from time to time needed a need such as these.

The canvas fabric was no problem for these needles to handle. I expected broken needles due to the density of the fabric, but no problem.

I was looking for “sharp” type needles, not universal, to use on canvas. However, I didn’t see those on JoAnn’s site, and decided to try these based on the description and my research on titanium needles.

I tried the 16 size on medium-heavy canvas and it worked great. No problems at all going through 2 layers, using straight stitches, zig-zag, or an over-edge stitch. I haven’t tried more layers than that.

I have a 3342 Fashion Mate machine from Singer, so it’s a good entry level machine, but not heavy duty, but it still worked just fine on this tougher fabric with the titanium needle. The price is really good for so many needles, especially titanium, so I plan to use only titanium from now on as my standard needles get used up.

This is a good buy for decent needles. They fit my older Singer machine just fine. Inlobe that they sell titanium as I use a lot of sturdier fabrics!

I prefer the regular universal needles to these. Even though they’re titanium, they didn’t last as long for me.

Singer has always produced quality products, and these needles do not disappoint. They stay sharp and perform very well. I have used them on denim, linen, cotton, and polyester blends. They are very affordable.

I would recommend these needles for woven fabrics. for knits use ball point.

Used on my Singer Heavy Duty 4423. I was sewing face masks with the needles that came with the machine and the needles kept breaking. I went through 3 needles in as many days. I realized the needles that came with the machine were not meant for sewing thick layers of fabrics.

They worked like a dream. I bought a second hand machine and it came with needles that were dual. When I put the new needles in everything went to smoothly. Great needles from a brand that never lets you down. In my opinion Schmetz are the best you can buy. I have found there is less needle breakage when you match the needle to the fabric. Instead of just using the needle in the machine and off you go (something I’m sure we all do! ) it benefits your project to choose the correct needle and buy the best quality you can afford.

These microtex needles are fine and sharp, sewing finer textiles with ease. They are well worth buying.

My teenage nephew needed his athletic jersey altered. Although I’ve sewed regularly over the years I’ve never worked with stretch fabrics. I did a little research and saw that this twin needle made by Schmetz was a good alternative to finding a serge machine.

My sewing machine is an older and relatively inexpensive Brother without a lot of bells and whistles. I was a little nervous because teenagers are awfully picky about how their clothes look but this needle made me look like a pro and performed beautifully.

I had to assume it was as it stated it was for stretch, which usually are knits.

The needles were bought as described above my sewing machine had developed an appetite and was eating the stretchy thin fabric I was desperately trying to make a bra with, now, with the correct “Stretch” needles my machine is once more a performance artist.

A brilliant professional seamstress recommended ball point needles to me as I was having real problems sewing some knitted fabric I’d made. I took it along to the lovely staff at JL Kingston who were able to advise on needle size.

I’m sewing really quite thick fabric with these and have broken a couple of needles (to be expected with what I’m trying to achieve) but nowhere near as many as before. It really pays to have the correct tools for the job!.
