20 Best Neck Gaiter For Running (2023 Updated)

I have purchased two ‘one size fits all’ gaiters, and neither one fits. The ‘LG/XL’ gaiters I bought from Oakley fit. They do not strangle me like the others.

Great deal and fabric is comfortable but it’s not as snug for the size. I believe the S/M size are for large people and L/XL are for giants. Keeps falling off my face. Nevertheless, a bargain price for a mask that we need.

My daughters got me this because we know there is something wrong with me but doctors have not Dx’d me yet (ongoing process). The upshot is that part of it is that I get really sick when I get overheated.

I went to Oahu, Hawaii for a wedding in April and of course I wanted to check out the local market which is huge. Knowing I’d probably get overheated I put the gator in my purse and wet it down with just a bit of water from my water bottle when we got there.

It kept me comfortable for two hours from just being a bit damp, not as wet as it’s recommended to be. and I. Did. Not. Get. Sick. ! Normally I would have spent the rest of the day in a dark room with a migraine, numbness, tingling, sometimes blindness in one eye, nausea/vomiting.

The gator was just enough so I could walk around and enjoy the market for a couple of hours without overheating, without inconveniencing the rest of our party, and without the embarrassment of getting ill.

Loving this thing. I do our company’s safety meeting/training stuff (HVAC/construction) and at our heat-related illness training, I encouraged our guys to buy one of these. Thinking about getting the towel to put in all the first aid kits for any possible emergency HRI incidents.

Definitely a lifesaver, quite possibly literally.

We were going to Pittsburgh for a football game so I purchased 4 of these for me and my friends. I wanted to wait until we got back before I left a review. So everyone loved these neck gaiters. We could just pull them up when we were on the T-Rail and used them as a mask because no one could keep up with a regular mask.

At the game it was 30 degrees and everyone wore them around the neck and did use it as a headband to keep our ears warm. Love this product when we got back home I ordered another one. Great gift ideas.

I was skeptical from some of the reviews so that is why I waited until we got back from our trip. Love Love this product.

First off I am 70 years old and I have a little Yorkshire that needs to go out a lot during the day AND I live in Upstate NY, (yes in the winter). This gaiter is a real winner to me. It blocks all the wind, keeps my breathing steady during the wind gusts and it is really warm.

The price is great and this gaiter is so versatile. I don’t ski anymore but I know it would be a great companion for those that do. The fabric weight is light not bulky at all and it fits perfect. Definitely a 5 star !!.

I LOVE this item! I’ve already ordered this item and loved it for it’s warmth and also that I had the ability to put the headband on or off through my walks or runs. that’s what I used to use it for, outdoor exercise.

I’ve realized now how perfect this is for the pandemic! I can have it on to keep myself warm, but it’s SO easy to pull the neck part up over my mouth and nose as a face covering. I’m so tired of always having to put the mask on and off.

I want to be able to walk freely and pull the neck gaiter up when necessary. Even better, this attaches behind your neck, no need to pull over your head and mess up your hair! I’m going to order another to have one that will match with my every day outfits, not just exercise clothes.

This gaiter is very light, comfortable, and well made. It washes easily and dries quickly. In the cold weather it is a great “no lose” scarf. I have tried the longer gaiter but personally prefer this compact, shorter version as I don’t need the extra material to bring up over my head, etc.

I would like it to be available in more colors. I have tried gaiters made by other companies but prefer Mission’s because of the quality of the construction and comfort. My gaiter, over time and multiple washings, stretched out a bit but is still being used.

I sometimes wear glasses and sometimes, but not all the time, they steam up while I’m wearing the gaiter. Why not none of the time or all the time, I don’t know. I am not qualified to rate this mask for protection efficiency.

Mask is very small and thin. Should have taken heed to the reviews that said masks were very thin. You could actually see right through them. bought 2 Mission neck gaiters for my son about a month ago and this one can in no way stand up against the previous Mission gaiters.

seems these are knockoffs. Beware!!.

Well made. Nice fabric but size is a problem. I have a small head for an adults. The regular size is too large for me, and the youth is a little too tight to be comfortable. There needs to be a medium size.

I am using this neck gaiter for running in subzero temperatures and it is long enough to pull over the bottom half of my face up to my eyes while still keeping my whole neck covered and warm. The material is quite light/thin but it does offer protection against the cold and wind (up to -10 deg.

C at least) and dries quickly. I did not give it 5 stars because of the fact that it has seams on the inside (it is basically 4 pieces of fabric stitched together, which probably gives it the body-conforming shape) that make it not quite as comfortable as one would like.

Perfect for winter riding. It is super soft and stays up when needed. Definitely needed for riding in the Fall/Winter.

This is a wonderful product: not too tight, but stays in place. The material is also very soft and keeps it shape. Highly recommend.

I have several Columbia neck gaiters. I bought them primarily to kayak and fish in; but wear them pretty much anytime I’m going to be in the sun a lot. They work. I have yet to be sunburned wearing one, and that’s the idea.

I spent yesterday morning fishing on a boat in a bay in Florida under the blasting sun, and I have no burn to show for it. Candidly, this wasn’t the one that I wore. Mine was an older model. This one has several improvements.

And one worrisome drawback which prevented it from getting that 5th star. The improvements consist of a more form fitting bottom that drapes over your shoulders and ventilating holes in the front. I can’t vouch for the function of the little ventilating holes in actual use.

Just sliding it on and trying it out, they seem to help a little, but not a lot. The form fitting bottom is great as it prevents a gap between your gaiter and a crew neck shirt; particularly if that crew neck is a little low.

It functions well. My problem is the length. Columbia has elected to shorten the garment by about 2 inches, and that’s a problem. If you’ve never worn one of these things, length is an asset. It makes it much more versatile.

You can cover everything from the lower half of your face to virtually your whole head with one, depending on how you put it on. This one, however, is going to be limited to just pulling up on your face like a bandana.

Hopefully, they’ll correct the error of their ways and lengthen it. For what it’s worth, I do like the red, white, and blue color scheme.

I bought this to eliminate drafts while riding my motorcycle this winter. It is generously sized covering my neck properly. On a motorcycle this is important but it wears well off the bike also. There are no negatives.

Very comfortable. keeps warm. Bit hard to keep over the face since the stretch goes away rapidly.

Haven’t worn it out in the cold yet but fabric is a finer knit that feels soft and warm. There is an elastic on one side to keep it up when you’re wearing it over your ears/face. Good quality.

I purchased this for a recent half marathon. It was super hot with no shade. Loved this neck gator. It’s very lightweight and even when the ice melts it keeps adding a little bit of cool

I’ve been using Mission brand gaiters as my face mask since the pandemic. I have to wear a face mask for my job and I have to wear it between 6-8 hours a day. I like the Mission brand gaiters a lot but they stretch out after a few months and then they don’t stay up over your nose.

They also cost $20 or more. I saw these Ranger brand ones at Harbor Freight for $5 and I grabbed one. I though maybe it would be too small or too loose or too something. How could it only be $5. Well, I tried it one and it fit just like the Mission brand did.

After wearing it for 2 days at work, I ran back to HF and bought 2 more of these to keep in reserve. Whether you need a mask to pretend to stop the spread of Covid or you do Black Ops in your spare time, you can’t go wrong by choosing this Ranger gaiter.

This neck gaiter allows for easier breathing however with the material of the neck gaiter it allow particles to pass through. These mask are pretty thin and allows breath ability, maybe a layered cloth material would do better.

But I guess something is always better than nothing.

If you like wearing a mask, don’t get this. If you despise them then this Neck Gaiter is for you. Never search for a mask again. It is easy to use. Single handedly pull it over your mouth and nose. Easy to breathe and easy on the ears.

Really good addition for extra coverage. Used for neck and face warmth, and over my face sleeping at night night. Comfortable and reduced odor makes for a great piece.

Great product, fits well, soft, and warm. I recently wore it in northern Wisconsin in subzero temperatures and although it froze solid from my breath, it worked great as long as there wasn’t much wind.

Have used so far for whitetail hunting and I’m glad I had it in my pack early season to keep gnats away. Then in 35 degree temps it’s been money. I’ll use a heavier gator in colder temps, but a great tool in the arsenal.

Love it. Only slight negative is that the sleeves are a bit too long and I don’t have short arms.
