20 Best Muzzle Brake For 308 Bolt Action (2023 Updated)

I ordered these bike brake pads from a small company (SJS Commercial) through the Walmart website. Total price was $5. 12 for 4 pads and free shipping. They arrived about 3 days after I ordered them.

I put them on my bike and they work perfectly. So I got 1) a high-quality product 2) at a very reasonable price 3) that arrived quickly 4) with free shipping. What more could you ask for?.

These are basic brake pads, nothing fancy, and they seem to be working fine so far. It’s been a week of riding around with them. I replaced many years-old higher-end brake pads that had worn down to the metal.

My bike is an old Schwinn. IT was convenient to find these at the same price as the major online competitor, yet be able to pick it up in the local store the day after ordering online. I can see that this is where Walmart will pick up customers.

Love these breaks! The fit is much better than the breaks pads that came with the bike. No extra washers necessary, nice snug fit with what was supplied. Highly reccomend.

It was a completely different experience towing with this controller with a 14 enclosed trailer. Wish I did it sooner!.

Worked great, long delay in review, forgot about it, used it to haul a 5000lb trailer across country. It worked as needed.

My family and I just moved to our first home that has weather cold enough for snow. After just a couple weeks of winter weather and wind, the brakes on our SUV started squeaking. It echoed in the garage and was grating to listen to.

Got this to work on my girlfriends car whose front brakes wouldn’t stop squeaking. But our car is now 9 years old, and sometimes we heard the brakes squeaking for what ever reason, so after using this CRC Disc Brake Quiet, it seems that it has been helping because me and my husband have both said that we have not been hearing any squeaking from the brakes since using it and since this is the only thing we have don’t different to our car we are thinking that it was because of the CRC Disc Quiet Brake.

So I’m my opinion this stuff has helped out, we always talk to the mechanics at the shop we take our car to if it’s ok to use different liquids for our car, so we felt ok about using this since we know our car has already had its tuneup and brakes checked.

Uncle gave me a trek 820 from 1996 with these same pads on cantilever brakes. He used the bike inside but the pads are rubber so they harden overtime. Watch a video on adjusting brake pad placement and levers and there will be no squeaking.

I ride the bike downhill 40+mph every morning and am not worried about stopping.

Happy to find these pads as exact replacements for project to replace all rubber components on an old, lightly used Trek bicycle for granddaughter. This ensures the pads work in harmony with the rest of the Shimano brake components.

I use these Shimano BR-CT91 cantilever pads to upgrade old mountain bike brakes. They work every time with easy installation and reliability…very economical as well.

The previous reviews are 1 star because they tried it for one vehicle that didn’t work. If you have TRADITIONAL calipers with brackets that separate from the caliper AND the piston is press-in, this tool is great.

This can be of great assistance when removing or installing a serpentine belt by relieving the spring tension on the belt tensioner. The long piece has a 3/8″ square fitting on the end to use with the included sockets, crows feet, or attaching the segment with the 1/2″ square adapter.

This long piece has the potential for a lot of leverage IF you have the space to take advantage of it. My Dad’s vehicle does not due to various hoses and pipes getting in the way from both the top and the bottom of the engine compartment.

My suggestions to the manufacturer is: First make the long handle shorter (with an add-on extension) for tighter spaces. Second, include shallower sockets. It is a nice tool for the price and may work well for many different vehicles (I believe the 1/2″ square would work on the belt tensioner of my Grand Caravan).

Unfortunately, it did not work on my Dad’s vehicle. I think a long-handled 13mm wrench would have worked better in this instance. Again, this is a nice tool at a good price. However, first check your belt tensioner to see if you have the clearance to actually use this.

Cantilever brakes are excellent for those wanting to run wider tires. They’re light, inexpensive, simple to set up and simple to maintain. These brakes open all the way, unlike many canti brakes where the shoes hit the fork blade.

Excellent setup instructions provided by Shimano. Ultegra quality and finish. IMO, these are the best cantilever brakes made.

Got these for my CX/commuter/road bike. Great tire clearance which allows for a larger all-season tire and fenders to boot. Great stopping power so far after 4+ months of use. Align well so you can get the pads very tight to the rim for great actuation.

Kool-Stop always has the best stuff. One thing to bear in mind, though, is that they carry a wide variety of brake shoes for a wide variety of applications. You have to be sure that what you’re getting fits your application.

I’ve made the mistake of not being certain a couple of times, so I have some spare Kool-Stops sitting in my parts box that I might never use.

Black compound rim brakes always have metal shavings from the rim in them. These brakes never leave me with shinny flecks in the brake pads. They stop all my bike with no oscillation. They wear out quicker but its is a case of pay a few bucks now or much more later.

I give the neighborhood kids the factory brakes that come with my bike and replace it with these. I prefer front disk and rear rim brakes and is how i order all my bikes.

Had the Cool Stops only a short time on my mtn bike which I use for pretty much any type of riding from rocky, loose dirt, sandy trails and street fitness. The pads made a very good stopping bike into an outstanding stopper! I did not expect such an improvement.

This mtn bike now holds it own with my disc road bike brakes. Make sure you adjust your toe in and clean the rim with solvent to ensure quiet braking.

Needed to swap out my disc brake on my hardball due to contamination. Just needed a quick easy swap over. Nothing fancy or expensive as the bike is fairly old and receives a lot of abuse! The disc arrived very quick and was just in a sealed plastic envelope.

I was worried that with the product not having any packaging or labelling of any kind that it would be in a second hand condition. But it was totally fine on inspection and fitted in perfectly to the bike.

Which is good because returning something that arrived in a plastic bag wouldn’t of been so easy!!! Great product buy a little lack lustre in its appearance as a product you would buy from the shelf.

Looks really good, really nice design. Unfortunately like other reviews state, which I wish I had paid more attention to before buying, this disc causes terrible brake judder at lower speeds. Even after a good amount of riding to bed in pads and disc, it just doesn’t go away.

High speed braking is great but as soon as your slower its hell. The entire front end vibrates horribly. No amount of adjustment or pad leading edge chamfouring fixes this problem, the design is just to extreme to work.

It might work for some but why waste your money taking the chance, there are plenty of rotors out there for the same money that have no issues. Really disappointed.

Bought a couple of packs of these 160mm rotors to replace some well worn ones. Put new pads in as well. Bike stops on a dime now. Really pleased with my purchase. Great quality for the price.

We’ve put several sets of these drilled and slotted rotors on our ’12 Suburban which gets used more as bus/taxi for our 3 kids (always moving about town). these rotors have completely eliminated any warpage (despite constant hard braking) and stop very well and last longer than any solid rotors.

I ordered these Eclat pads specifically because they came with female bolts. I have brake mounts on my chain stay and needed pads with female bolts so they would not rub up against my cranks. Trying to mate up clear pads with chrome rims can be a pain in the ass.

These are no exception. The trick is to toe it in properly and then break them in by feathering your brakes continuously on the next couple rides. It really works and yes the loud squeal does go away! Enjoy!.

The perfect brake to stop both front and back wheels. Works well with other brands of brake levers.

I bought the BLACK Eclat Force female pads to try on my 29″ GT with black rims. It took a few minutes to rearrange the order of and adjust the concave washers so that the pads would work with the rear Bombshell V brake.

The angle of the pads is almost perfect despite the reconfiguration of washers and the bite is beyond aggressive. These are the best pads I’ve ever owned. Highly recommended! The clear pads would most likely be softer and even stickier but also potentially noisy.

The black pads are sticky enough for me because they lock the wheel instantaneously.

Have the r1 rotors. These work really good. I like that the inner carrier isnt likely to rust like the r1 rotors. They work great. No downsides.

Excellent rotors. I love the look as well as the functionality of the drilled and slotted rotor. Clears mud and junk as well as keeps contact surface of the pad fresh. These rotors stop well and modulate speed well, even on the gnarliest of descents.

I used these rotors on my tandem bicycle with regular Spyre TRP mechanical brakes. TRP suggested these related to extra weight of the bike. These are great rotors very durable. After 2000 mi spin true.

No shudder and no squeel, very smooth running I like them so much I already purchased a backup set for eventual replacement. I think they are incredible rotors for bikes that are heavy.

The product has the typical Formula brake issues – the caliper pistons are sticky (won’t retract) so you will have to clean and move the pistons until the seals are flexible enough to retract. Also, the organic pad that came with my order seem to be contaminated – there’s almost no braking power.

After these issues were resolved, my brakes worked great. But it took me a lot of effort to resolve.

Beautiful set of brakes from formula, I’m replacement my old avid elixir cr and moving from Dot oil to mineral oil.

The break system I purchased fit well and adjusted easily. The shipping was time was reasonable due to the pandemic. Thank you Claudio

1) Leaves more than enough clearance for fenders. Consider the short calipers if you don’t require clearance. 2) No distinction between front and rear. You’ll have to switch the pads for front installation, pay attention to the directional arrows and L/R on the pads.

3) I had issues with installing Shimano BR-T4000 calipers onto my brake bosses. If you came across this issue where Shimanos don’t seat flush/float over the bosses and the spring pin does not fully engage, the P-1s will work with bosses with 5mm shoulders.

It seems the T4000 requires different bosses. P-1s fit perfectly with my bosses with 5mm shoulders. They seem solid and have longer brake pads. Drawback is that they’re pricier, but $55 for a set isn’t much for safety since this will be a commuting bike.

Hey, for as cheap as this was I didnt expect MUCH of an improvement over the lame brakes that come on the Mongoose Grudge (I removed the front brake altogether). This puppy locks that back tire up without a problem.

I weigh a good 200 lbs, too. Great buy, in my opinion. The black bolts included are too long and do not seat fully so I did reuse the OEM brake bolts.

Nice finish and look great. The right and left spring tensions seem to be different, so it took a little longer than normal to balance them out. Aside from that, the stopping power is crazy good. Just a note.

I swapped the stock pads with the set of Kool Stops that were on my old brake set, so I haven’t tried the pads that came with it yet.

Vorne fahre ich an meinem AM eine 203 ohne Probleme und hinten inzwischen eine “alte” 180 UL, die nicht vom Rückruf betroffen ist. In meinem Enduro würde ich die HD nehmen, wenn ich neue Scheiben bräuchte, aber an meinem AM bin ich von den UL überzeugt.

Um die UL-Scheiben mal zu testen, habe ich die hintere SRAM Scheibe in 180 mm gegen eine 203 mm Trickstuff-UL gewechselt und war – in Kombi mit den Trickstuff-Belägen – hart begeistert von der Performance.

Mittlerweile bin ich auch vorne auf eine Trickstuff-UL Scheibe gewechselt und kann das als günstigeres Upgrade im Vergleich zu einem kompletten Neukauf wirklich empfehlen.

I’ve had issues with carquest on several occasions on rotors not fitting. Every Duralast Rotor I’ve installed fit right the first time. No unwanted trips to the part stores for exchanges with this product.

Which personally is so important with the nearest store being 20 minutes away. I havent had any kind of issue with warping excessive wear or anything. I haul a lot of things with my jeep for my mobile mechanic business and Duralast Rotors are now the only thing I will buy.

to test fit of rotor, install without caliper and use two lug nuts. you will find that the this rotor will lock down against the wheel mounting gear and won’t turn. the problem is the hub is about 3/16″ taller than the OEM, and, the thichness of the new rotor is about 1/16″ thinner than OEM.

this could be fixed with an adapter plate to go inside of the hub of the new rotor, but i am taking it back for refund. i resurfaced the old rotors and they are fine. this is the recommended replacement from duralast.

Not much to say, it’s a rotor. Mounted up perfectly, replacing old worn out parts. Also installed new pads and calipers
