20 Best Multi Cat Litter For Odor Control (2023 Updated)

I’ve been trying to find an unscented, low/no dust litter that does not stick to the sides of the 3 plastic litter boxes in my house. I have tried every well known brand and one lesser known, but highly rated brand.

In each case, I would get great results for only 2 of the 3 issues I wanted to address. I had been reading great reviews for this litter, but none mentioned anything about it not sticking to the litter box.

In the past few days I’ve been mixing my first bucket of this litter with my existing brand and the results have been amazing! No dust, no artificial scent and no sticking to the boxes! And this is only as a mix with my existing litter, not even using it completely on it’s own! I’m so glad I decided to try this litter.

Not only does it give me the results I had hoped for, it is also reasonably priced and always in stock at the grocery store where I do my regular shopping.

We started using this several months ago as Tidy Cat went up too far in price, and started getting dustier. Also, other brands that say they are nearly, or totally, dust free are definitely not. This Cat’s Pride Triple Odor Guard actually IS dust free, no clouds or dust-ups that we can see at all.

It lasts a good while, is a little lighter weight, and clumps very well. This is also a better price than many others, and simply works better. This has become our only cat litter we’ll use, so hopefully they won’t price themselves out of sight like others have.

Also, the most recent jugs we bought said reformulated. but same quality. I hesitate when I see that, because, well, marketing. But, actually, notably, they DID actually improve it. Also also note that this particular litter doesn’t make us, or our 4 cats, sneezy.

One of the best litters I have ever used. Great for enclosed litter boxes. Should be used with a tracking mat to catch the small litter particles upon exit and if your cat is aggressive you may want to have a high walled box.

Its so soft that they love making sure everything is covered. Almost No smell at all, even right after making a deposit. (Note – Don’t expect great results if your cat doesn’t know how to cover his stuff well or you don’t regularly clean the litter box) The flushable version is excellent also.

Very easy to use. 4 stars only because the small particles will track if you don’t have a good mat.

He’s instinctual and seems like the alpha male type. He’s friendly but very expressive with his feelings, emotions, and aggressions so it was fairly simple to understand his opinions about his new litter, which I think we’re indifferent.

He seemed just okay with it. After this experience with our first unscented litter, I think we both agree that we prefer scented litter, and strongly scented at that! We both really like The World’s Best Cat Litter brand and the litter quality is exceptional.

It clumps really really well and very quickly. I noticed a firm hold just 1 to 2 minutes after urination. Oppositely, Even the smaller chunks that did manage to escape, which weren’t many, were not terribly small and tidious, and still large enough where scooping was possible.

Since the litter was unscented, I could smell some odor but very mildly and this was sort of shocking because I would have thought odor would be constant and strong with unscented litter, so WBCL has some insanely awesome odor blockers regardless if scented or not.

Lastly, dust clouds were completely non-existent and post use trackage was at an all time low, thankfully so because my kitty boy typically produces litter crazed surroundings!.

I started fostering cats this year and have 6 kitties in my home. They do what kitties do and it’s a lot to clean up daily, so I am always looking for products that will help keep things more tidy. My preferred litter is the GREEN unscented type of World’s Best and this new orange litter was offered as a gwp of Orijen 12-lb food.

(Thank you!) At first the most noticeable difference is that the orange litter grains are 2-3x as large. I suppose their logic is that larger grains are heavier and less likely to get stuck on paws, but as anyone who’s stepped on a Lego knows, that’s not true, it just hurts more.

The litter in my post-surgery kitty’s crate has spread both in the 1-inch space between boxes and surrounding 1-ft radius outside the crate. For an animal that does not leave the crate, who is remarkably slow and deliberate when moving/digging, this spread is disappointingly unexpected.

Litter scent has a citrusy tinge after cats have peed, seemingly exacerbating pee odor, however more successful at masking poo odor. I agree with others that the clumping should be better. There is also a lot of pee-odor dust left in the box after scooping, a common flaw I’ve encountered in large-grain litters.

Reliably zero dust in the air as I pour new litter from the bag into the box, the reason I love World’s Best. When I click to Add Photo, it doesn’t show that pics are posted, so maybe I’ll try again later.

Overall I will not buy this orange litter, but I’d still use this instead of clay-based litter.

I am *always* on the hunt for a better cat litter, I mean ALWAYS. In the 16 years I have had my wonderful feline companion, I have shuffled between a dozen different brands, and lines within these brands, and can say with full confidence that I have yet to find one that truly made both me and my cat happy.

Now that my cat has entered his elderly years, he’s more likely to use the litter box without covering his waste and so it’s really important to have a brand that he’s not holding a grudge against. This littler, despite making some promising appeals on the packaging, is not that brand.

As I mentioned before, my cat is on the older side and he does not like pushing around things unless they contain catnip. This litter comes in larger chunks and weights considerably more than the lightweight options we generally go with.

The ‘quick clumping’ claim doesn’t work so well when the waste just sits on top of it. It was also harder to clean out since the chunks of unused litter didn’t quite filter through my current litter box shovel, which isn’t a problem for smaller grained solutions.

With no scent, there also wasn’t much odor control so now that I’m back in the office, I come home to a less appealing apartment at the end of the day. The one thing this litter has going for it is that because it’s too heavy for my cat’s liking, it stays put in the little box and therefore produces very little dust.

Otherwise, I can’t say that I cared much for it (which is a shame since there was a $5 off coupon attached to the bag) and will be sticking with a more fragrant, lightweight option in the future.

I love the Breeze system. After years of misery and somuchmoneyspent with all other gross litter systems that I tried, it’s the best. And now I think I may have found the best possible litter for the Breeze in my 3-cat household.

Pros: The walnut pellets are perfectly sized to use for the Breeze scoop. The odor control is a bit better for these than the Breeze pellets. My 3 kitties (ages 1. 5-ish, 7 months-ish, and baby-ish) all adjusted smoothly without complaint and they actually seem to enjoy this litter.

They don’t get stuck in the Breeze grates like the Breeze pellets can sometimes do if they break. The pellets allow the urine to go through the grates effectively to the Breeze pads below and don’t seem to hold urine odors.

They don’t really break down like pine pellets– there’s just a fine sheen of dust on the pee pads when I change those, which is no biggie. There is no dust near my boxes, so the litter seems quite good for respiratory systems– mine and the cats.

The walnut pellets don’t track– just toss the occasional stray pellet back into the box and you’re good to go. And they’re wayyyy cheaper than the Breeze pellets, so it’s nice to be able to fill the box up more, which is nice for the cats for digging purposes as well as odor control for feces.

I also found this litter to be friendlier for diarrhea than the Breeze pellets, which would kind of get ruined by diarrhea. Because I have to tell you, my cats do love to get diarrhea and ruin a nice freshly changed box.

Don’t worry, the vet and I are working on it. Cons: No serious gripes at all. I guess the dark color does make the feces a little harder to locate, but come on. If you have an extra 5 seconds to sift through the litter and look for lumps a few times per day that’s more than enough.

I bought the SoPhresh XL sifting litter box to use this litter because it is best used as a sifting litter. I’ve watched lots of YouTube reviews on this particular litter and that is the consensus. It does clump but takes a little longer to firm up.

It does sometimes get stuck in the slots of the sifting ban but it’s an easy fix if you use a litter spade and not a square litter scoop. A litter spade is just a scoop shaped like a gardening spade – it pokes the litter right thru.

Also you’ll want to make sure you pour more into the litterbox to avoid litter clumping beneath the sifting pan. I can say though when that happens i just pat the bottom of the pan and it pops right off – it’s extremely non-stick which is nice.

I do sift twice when I clean the litter boxes and I love how easy it is to just wipe it clean. I started using this litter with two other litter boxes that were smelly and needed to be washed and once I set the Naturally Fresh litter out with the other boxes it eliminated ALL the odors from the the old clay litter without me even scooping or cleaning those boxes first!!! I have since bought another new sifting box and bag of this litter.

I do still give my cats the option to use the clay litter just to give them transition time. There is minimal dust when sifting. They do kick it out of the litter box but I just bought a giant $12 indoor/outdoor rug that brown so you can see it and then just vacuum whenever I sift.

I think I have very flexible kittens, given some of the comments and posts I read on the internet. I did a lot of research before adopting about litter, and this one kept coming up. We had to transition them from the World’s Best clumping litter (which I found literally everywhere, all the time) to this walnut, pellet litter.

It only took one mix use box for about 2 weeks to transition, and they don’t seem to care at all. They use it, they don’t have accidents, they don’t avoid using the box. We use it in combination with the Iris top entry litter box.

Between the pellets, the top entry, and the mat (the microfiber mouse print one on Chewy), I do not find litter anywhere, ever. The smell containment is great. I know they recommend multiple boxes for multiple cats, but we have a v small apartment and we only have space for one.

It does sit next to a window exhaust fan, but I can only ever smell it when I am scooping out their solids, which I do every day/every two days. The reason I know this works so well is because when I went to empty it after 3 weeks (I didn’t read the instructions, which state a month lol) I was almost bowled over by the scent as it poured out of the box into my trashcan.

The fact that THAT was contained and I had no idea? Wow, wow, wow. Also: we used it post spay and neuter (since it’s dust free and pellets, like the Yesterday’s News) and had no issues.

Some people do not realize that the brand of litter is important but a good-quality, high-performance litter really does make a difference. I have used many different brands and types of litter so I was very, very happy to find the Arm and Hammer Multicat.

The hint of negative about this product is the heavy weight of it but I suppose it needs to be substantial to work so well. This product will cause debris to clump firmly, allowing me to easily scoop up and toss without residue.

The remainder of the litter stays so astoundingly clean and fresh that I can continue to use it for a very long time without changing out the whole pan. Yes, this is a big deal because my cats just give up on covering up if the litter will not stay fresh.

Some other litters maintain strong odors and leave stinky particles behind so my cats will just leave the box immediately and shake their paws as if they are saying ‘there’s no way I’m touch that dirty stuff.

‘ The rooms where we keep litter boxes stay fresh-smellin. We don’t need to sift and shake like Atlas if we use a good quality scoop of substantial weight. Those thin dollar-store scoops will just wear out my wrist, elbow, and shoulder.

So anyone who has trouble cleaning out a litter pan with this litter may want to upgrade the scoop. I confidently recommend this litter to both single and multicat households. I will not use any other type or brand as I could not be happier with the value and performance.

I bought six forty-pound boxes of Arm and Hammer Super Scoop, which proved to be a huge and expensive mistake. I feel horrible for forcing my kitties to put even a single paw into this smelly, dusty litter.

Each time I change the litter, I thoroughly wash the boxes with a mild dish soap and super hot water (you probably already know that this disinfects, without harmful chemicals and odors that irritate a cats sensitive nose).

So, I was unpleasantly surprised when I awoke to a litter-room that wreaked–and their litter room never smells. This litter had a strange pungent odor that permeated the large room. I immediately went back to the litter I’ve used for the last fifteen years–even though its become, like everything else in this pathetic economic climate, ridiculously expensive.

There is a lot to said for staying with what you know and trust. Arm and Hammer litter cannot be healthy for feline or human respiratory systems. For the love of your feline friends, I recommend avoiding this litter.

I actually bought this by mistake the first time I got it. But I was so impressed by it I’ve repurchased several times. I’m a big fan of Cat Whisperer Jackson Galaxy’s advice, so I’ve historically avoided heavily scented litter.

This litter is scented, but its performance is excellent. It clumps marvelously and is very low dust. The scent isn’t overpowering at all to my human nose, but just to be kind to my kitties, I usually mix 3 parts cheap fragrance free cheap litter to 1 part arm & hammer.

It’s enough to keep the benefits of clumping low dust. And it does smell nice! But mixing it like that lessens the fragrance for my cats’ sake. (Cat noses are more sensitive to smells than people noses.

) They have never had any issues with using their litter boxes, so they must be okay with it at least. I can’t quite speak to how it tracks, but this litter seems to track less than tidy cats. But then again, we have one of those fancy litter catching mats… Either way, great litter.

Excellent value. 40 lbs for less than $16? Most generics are $6-8 for 20 lbs so it’s a very good deal!.

I recently bought this after looking at many reviews in search of a more inexpensive litter that offers larger sizes after I recently adopted another cat – making that two cats total in my small apartment.

My favorite thing is the low tracking – I mean it’s incredible how low it tracks after my cats get off the mat outside their litter box. It’s clumps pretty well – there is always one or two clumps that slightly stick but they come off incredibly easy with barely any effort at all, so another great perk.

The biggest issues I have is the odor control. When one of my cats use their litter box – the scent of their scat is intense and rife through the apartment. They both bury their feces as deep as they can right away so it’s not like it’s just sitting there.

But after burying – it reeks so bad it’s like the litter intensified the smell and it LASTS – the litter almost acts as one of those wall plugs – making sure the scent lasts longer and really gives a large scent throw like an incredibly good quality candle but a candle that smells somehow worse than usual cat fecal matter.

It’s horrible. After an hour or two the scent finally stops and for the first three days when the scent is no longer intensified it’s pretty decent. But by the fourth day, after freshly scooping the litter – there is a certain scent to it that lingers.

The litter box smells awful constantly and the scent sneaks it’s way into corners of my apartment, leading me to change the entire litter box more often than I’ve ever had to with any other brand. Scooping simply does not suffice for long at all, leaving me to ordering more litter more often.

I don’t know how to describe this odor. It’s just awful. And is everywhere, even after changing the litter it lingers for a day. It’s horrific. So now I’m in search of a new unscented litter for my two cats.

So this is the first litter I have used as I have just recently adopted a cat. I purchased this brand after reading several reviews and suggestions, the general consensus seemed to be that clay litter was the best overall so I decided to give that a try seeing as it’s the “standard” for cat litter.

Dr. Elsey’s seemed to be a highly recommended brand and based on the “99. 9% dust free claim” I purchased without much hesitation. Overall this is a good litter as far as clumping/tracking is concerned.

I wanted a litter that was unscented and I understand that animal waste is not going to smell like roses, generally there is no lingering smell unless the litter box has been used within the last 10-15 minutes and I have mine in the mud room so I am not in range of the smell anyway.

If you want something that is going to trap the smell immediately I don’t think this will work well for you. However, I am disappointed in the amount of dust this litter creates. It kicks up quite a bit when I clean it and I imagine it does when my cat uses it as well.

My cat’s foster was using corn litter and since we adopted him (and he started using the clay litter) he seems to be sneezing a lot. His health is very important to me so I am obviously concerned. I’m not sure if there is a direct correlation but I think I will be switching to a different type of litter and seeing if the situation improves.

I started out using clay litters for my two cats but found they were so heavy, sticky, and hard to clean so I switched to crystal litters and tried multiple brands but all of them irritated my nose and throat with the silica dust so I knew I had to find something else.

After some research it sounded like a natural litter would be ideal for me but I was hesitant because in my past experience natural litters were crumbly, messy, and/or had weird odors to them. Once I found this litter and saw it was endorsed by Jackson Galaxy I decided to give it a try since the Cat Daddy has never steered me wrong.

Well, once again he was spot on and Sustainably Yours lives up to the hype. It has many pros and only a few cons in my experience which I have listed below. Pros: – Soft sand-like texture that is gentle on my boys’ paws – Zero dust (Seriously, there is no dust at all!) – Fast-acting clumping action that forms tight and solid clumps – Does not stick to the litter box, very easy to scoop/clean – No fragrances or odors, great for people and/or kitties with sensitivities – Made with sustainable materials Cons: – Odor control could be better.

It seems to do well with urine odors but did not control fecal odors well (although to be fair my boys tend to have smellier than average BMs). This was easily remedied by some Litter Box Odor Eliminator powder and now I don’t smell a thing.

– Tracks easily (not a big deal for me personally and honestly what litter doesn’t track to some degree) – Because of the small granule size the bags don’t fill up as much of the litter box as an equivalent sized larger-grained litter.

(i. e. Normally one 13 lb. bag will fill my litter box up to my preferred depth of 3-4″ but with this litter I needed 1. 5 13 lb. bags to reach the same depth). Overall I am very pleased with this litter and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to make the switch to a natural litter.

I’m 70 and Boomer, my long-haired grey tuxedo, is 16. 5. We lost his sister in May, and for the first time since 1975, I have just one cat in my home. I started wondering how many tons of regular clay litter I’ve carried in my cat time and decided to try a lightweight clumping type.

It’s getting harder to lug the 20# box down the stairs into the garage and dumped into a bag, not to mention getting the used litter lifted up high enough to get into the garbage can. So glad this was one of the first I tried, as it puts my other choice to shame! Clumps like cement and I don’t detect any odor, even after a poop.

I can only give it 4 stars for the following reasons. Being long-haired, when Boomer pees I find that a bit of litter sometimes sticks to his fur in that area, probably because he squats lower at times.

Not much of a problem since my hand can brush it right off. I check his furry paws every so often because he has jumped into the box right after checking the tub for water after I shower. Again, no a real problem.

The big problem is how much it tracks, definitely more than my clay litter. Don’t mind shaking the bathmat or sweeping the bathroom, but I have carpet throughout the house. Probably a plus as the carpet nearest the bathroom catches a good deal, but it still gets into the living room and cat bed on the couch.

Regardless, I’ve ditched the other product (it tracks even worse) and consider this a fantastic find! Won’t even bother to look at other products as Boomer took right to this and seems to prefer it over my other experimental choice.

Also, I scoop into a covered container and empty once a week. The other product left the underside of the top dripping wet with moisture buildup. The Sustainably Yours has never had a moisture buildup on the underside, even at the end of the week.

While the 13 lb. bag of Sustainably Yours is slightly less than double the price of the 40# bag of clay, I find that the bag lasts much longer because I only replace what was scooped as opposed to replacing the whole litter box of clay every week.

I’m extremely happy with this product and so is Boomer, so a little more vacuuming is very worth it!.

Great Litter, I Was Looking For Low Dust Because My One Cat Seems To Have An Allergy To The Dust & Residue From Clay Litter, She Itches, Over Grooms & Her Eyes Run Terribly. The Litter I Had Been Using For Years Changed & Was So Dusty I Could Actually Feel The Grit In My Mouth When I Would Clean The Litter Boxes At Night & My Older Cat Started Pulling Her Fur Out.

I Decided To Try This For A Last Ditch Attempt & Oh My Gosh I Am Glad That I Did! There Is No Dust At All!!! This really is the world’s Best cat litter! I’ve tried so many different types to replace the dirty, dusty, tacking clay litter I started with when I got my first cat. I’ve tried various paper pellets, wood pellets, silica beads and others including this one.

There are pros and cons to them all but I really liked the crystal beads but I developed asthma from the silica dust. So next best type for me was this World’s Best crushed corn husk litter. It clumps so it’s easy to clean.

There is one for multi-cats which I’m assuming clumps even better. It’s natural and theres even a lavender scented one but I discovered my cat hates anything lavender so it’s the plain one for us lol.

The clumps are flushable, provided you make sure to let the granules soak a few minutes and expand fully before flushing away. It’s not dusty and doesn’t track like the clay or sand litters. It doesn’t absorb odors like some of the pellet products.

You only need a few inches in your litter box so even though it costs a bit more, it last a lot longer. provided you scoop your litter regularly to keep the litter as clean as possible. And since it doesn’t stick to my cat’s paws, she doesn’t lick and ingest it like the clay litters.

And if she does ingest a little, it’s ok since it’s corn, not clay or silica. This was originally recommended to me by someone at a rescue organization and now I recommend this brand to everyone I know.

I was at a friend’s house and she had an extra bag of Pretty Litter and I needed to buy a bag(I typically use clay litter. ) My friend was going on about your product and how it was the ultimate cat litter; I thought she was exaggerating! I used Pretty Litter and was astonished that it did everything it promised.

I tried this, in very beginning thought might have stumbled on something great. Little did I know the storm was brewing and about to cause horrible damage. Because this was so bad at controlling odor, my cat (who never did anything like this before at all) started brazenly peeing on our clothes, pee on the bed right in front of us.

Trying to make a point. Eventually we figured out after some reading about the behavior that it likely had to do with litter box issues. Though we couldn’t smell anything, apparently she could. Mind you we scoop her box more than once a day as well.

I tried Cat’s Pride Total Odor Control Scented litter and couldn’t be more impressed by the litter itself and the company’s integrity. First of all, each jug you purchase donates one pound of litter to a shelter! That in itself nearly makes this litter worth buying, in my opinion.

But the quality of this litter is unbeatable and affordable, which is such a weight off my shoulders. In attempting to do something good with my purchasing habits as of late, this litter is right on the money.

So many of the companies that aim to do admirable deeds such as this are out of my reach, economically speaking. It is a relief and comfort that I can afford this good deed! The litter states that it’s 99 percent dust-free, and I can attest that it is! Litter’s dust and tracking outside of the pan are huge pet peeves of mine, and this dust-free formula cuts down on these issues almost entirely.

It also cuts down on any scent that may want to travel to any other areas of my house. This is a huge plus, as well, as no matter how pleasant a cat litter tries to be, it is still always distinct. I hate that! This formula truly does away with any scents that come from what the cat does in the litter and the litter itself, even though it’s a ’scented’ litter.

If you are like my family and have multiple cats then you know it can get quite smelly. Well I’ve tried many brands of cat litter but always find myself coming back for Cat’s Pride! I love how affordable it is, clumping which makes dipping them out easier and long lasting odor control.

With Cat’s Pride Scented Total Odor Control I clean them out once daily and this one thing of litter will last for up to ten days! My family has used this brand for many years and they seem to make sure that our cats are in great hands.

Happy cats mean a happy home! They know when their litter boxes get changed and it’s a race to see who beats who in there to soil them the fastest. If something happens like a family emergency and I can’t make it back home until the next day I know it’ll be okay because this litter is just that good.

We keep Cat’s Pride for our kitty’s needs as well as keep it in our garage for any oil spills on our driveway, and in the trunk of our vehicles during winter in case we are stuck or we run up on someone who is stuck we can put the litter behind or in front of the tire to help grab traction.

It really does have many different uses than just the plain Jane cat litter! I’ll continue using this brand because I’ve yet to find a brand that meets these qualities other than Cat’s Pride!.

Just wanted to give another perspective on using this litter with the litter robot: I’ve been using the clumping litter with my litter robot with my first cat for a year now, and I think it works great.

Recently though, I was gifted a bag of non-clumping litter. Although I’m n ER veterinary technician of 13 years, I have to admit I never knew that non-clumping litter came in a clay form (as opposed to, say, Yesterday’s News or corn cob).

This made me kind of skeptical, but honestly I can’t say I’m disappointed. It’s only been 2 weeks but I haven’t had to change it out yet (then litter robot does it for me, and I think that plays a significant role).

In that short time, I’ve noticed a significant decrease in dust as well as tracking. The first thing I noticed was the size of the granules, which made me happy. Today I decided to do some research in consideration of continuing with non-clumping litter; what I keep reading is that it needs to be changed once a week or so and that by virtue of its mechanism there would be the inevitable ammonia smell, but with my litter robot I ignore that part.

I’m happy to say that, as least thus far, I have zero complaints. The other big thing is that I suspect it will last longer (I checked the disposal bin and there is only feces, so no litter is “wasted”).

So, at least for now. BRAVO! to the non-clumping clay litter. Asking around to my clients and coworkers I have only found a few that use clay non-clumping, and between my clients and one of my doctors, they agree with me that it is just as effective while “using” less and containing odors, making it last longer and thus, a great choice.

It’s also a plus that my boy Ali doesn’t mind it at all, and the larger granules make his tracking of litter, especially into my bed, virtually eliminated– and that’s a huge deciding factor for me, as I suspect he shot-puts handfuls of it for sport while I’m asleep.

Tidy Cats brand litter has always been my ‘go to’ litter. Sadly, my confidence in the brand has been greatly compromised by the last box of Tidy Cats Instant Action I purchased. I am now in search of a brand that delivers what is stated on the packaging and in the marketing.

My first complaint is that clearly, the formulation for this product changed and consumers were not notified. I’ve been using this formulation and others without significant issues for many, many years.

This latest box, however, stunned me. My second complaint is that this litter literally tracked EVERYWHERE in my house – three floors – and everything in my house has a layer of litter dust and kitty paw prints on it.

I keep litter boxes in the basement, as far away from the living spaces as possible and always have. I was absolutely astounded at how far the litter and dust traveled. Of greatest concern was the dust.

I was cleaning the litter box one day and noticed that my chest began to burn. Only after I finished cleaning the litter box and moved onto other things around the house did I realized that the burning had subsided.

I attributed the burning to the dust and have worn a mask since then when cleaning or filling the boxes I have no idea how this product / change in formulation made it to market. I will be cleaning up dust and litter for weeks to come, even though I’ve replaced the litter with another product.

It is no longer a good product. It used to be a great product, clumping very quickly and forming a very tight clump (regarding urine). Starting several months ago (June 2022 or earlier), something changed – it no longer clumps as tightly nor as quickly.

When you try to scoop up the urine, the clump breaks apart leaving small pieces – including pieces that pass through the scooper. Also, because it doesn’t clump as quickly, the urine can make its way to the bottom of the litter pan where it forms a sticky clump that is cumbersome to scrape out and remove.

Reviews of this product on the websites of the major “big box stores” are full of these same comments. While many people rate the product highly – many people are also complaining that the litter doesn’t clump as well or as quickly – exactly what we’ve experienced.

We placed a call to Purina’s customer service department and provided all the information they requested. The response was that “there has been no change to the product or its ingredients”. That being said, we stand by our statement and observations – “something” changed – and not for the better.

Considering the high price of this product, it is a big disappointment – and has forced us to try and find a better product. Too bad – this was a “10”, now it’s a “2”.

I’m glad I found this as it does the job it says it does. Pretty near dust free. Odors are considerably reduced but I do scoop twice a day just because it’s best for the cats. This litter clumps tightly.

However, 4 stars instead of 5 since, to me, it tracks a little bit too much. I’ve ordered a different litter mat so we’ll see if that helps out. Also, I prefer litter in a plastic jug but I have some around from previous litter orders and have re-filled them with the Integrity brand.

I’m getting my 2nd bag, so I think I may have found the one for my two cats. They adjusted to it quickly, though you do need to mix in the previous litter first to get them used to it!.

I invested in a Litter Maid self-cleaning litter box, which works very well–and my cats love having clean litter every time. The directions told me to purchase VERY hard clumping litter for the box to work optimally.

After a long search, Integrity cat litter turned out to be the best one. My cats had always used Dr. Elsey’s Cat Attract, and they adapted to Integrity seamlessly. And it’s almost dustless. But Integrity DOES track–quite a bit, unlike like its claims say.

That disappoints me, but I can live with the inconvenience. Just wishing that claims were accurate.

This cat litter is so absorbent. The clumps are tight and it has superior odor control w/o added fragrance. They replant after removing the clay its a win-win!

This is the worst quality product I have ever had the pleasure of using in any category ever of all time. The urine does NOT clump up whatsoever. It instantly spontaneously combusts and gets mixed right back in.

The fragments of actual litter are so large that they dont filter through the scooper whatsoever. The entire box begins to stink horrifically due to the fact that none of the urine ever comes out. You can only pluck out the turds and they come out raw with no litter granules covering them.

You cant pick get the turds without a half pound of loose litter in the scooper that doesnt filter out so youre basically wasting whatever amount of the product you do scoop up with the turds. This is absolute insanity and whomever developed this has blatantly never owned a cat or put this product to test prior to bringing it into the market.

All of this in addition to the fact that pound for pound you hardly save anything buying this and thats not including wasted product. Ooohhh its natural but you basically have to turd scoop for two or three days and then dump the entire box so wheres the savings?.

We’d tried a wide variety of alternative litters, however, cats’ paws get sores. Plain clay cat litter is recommended by my veterinarian. With Jonny Cat Unsecented, no sores on the paws. However, this cat litter is incredibly dusty.

In the bathroom containing the litter box, dust clings to the walls and ceiling of the bathroom. It settles on every surface. It’s distressing to consider how much of this dust my cats are inhaling every time that they use this litter.

Years ago, I built a screened cylinder with a handle for turning. In went the kitty litter. About 1/3 of the litter was just dust. I don’t recall the brand of cat litter in use at that time. I’ve considered rebuilding the screened cylinder to measure the dust in the Jonny Cat Unscented.

I’m disabled now, and my productive time is precious, and must be used for pressing matters. I dearly wish for a litter product that doesn’t dust. A friend used chicken feed for her cat’s litter box.

Lot’s of corn, which may cause sores on the paws again. I suppose I’ll give it a try.

Jonny Cat is another one of the great inexpensive cat litters that I really like a lot. The Jonny Cat Cat litter that I used was the fragrance free litter. The fragrance free litter is great because it has no added fragrances in the litter whatsoever.

The Jonny Cat fragrance free litter uses natural extracts from vegetables and fruit to control the odors. I also like that it’s a clay litter instead of a clumping litter. The clay completely absorbs all the cat urine and odors along with it.

It keeps my cats litter box clean and fresh without using irritating harmful ingredients. I also like that it’s a dust free litter. A lot of the litters all have that dust and fragrance flying into my face that really bothers me.

I don’t get that with this cat litter. As long as you regularly change your cat litter, this is a great litter to use. I really appreciate this cat litter because it doesn’t harm me, my cat, or the environment, because it isn’t made from any harmful artificial ingredients.

Moisture Absorption The clay in this cat litter completely absorbs all the moisture and odor from the litter box. I never find my cats box to be wet, messy, or smelly either. This litter works extremely well.

Ease of Cleaning It’s easy to clean, but because it’s a clay non clumping litter the litter needs to be thrown out and cleaned more often. I usually end up dumping out all the litter when I need to clean it and start fresh.

Odor Control The Jonny Cat litter that I used is a fragrance free cat litter, and it uses vegetable and fruit extracts to get rid of all the odors. The clay in the litter also keeps the odors away as well.

Fragrances in cat litters usually makes my cat sneeze, but this litter doesn’t. Ease of Use This litter is really easy to use because it doesn’t have any dust in it, which makes it easier and nicer to pour into my cats litter box, and it doesn’t track and dusty paw prints out of the box either.

Let me start by saying, I have a rather disgusting story, but this product almost made me cry within 5 minutes of my introduction to my cat (Romeo). So for whatever reason, probably about 2 years ago, Romeo totally stopped using his liter box.

He would pee and poop in the tub or he would pee on the floor beside the liter box and poop in the tub. He has peed inside of my HVAC vent that is on the floor in the bathroom and just 2 days ago he peed in the livingroom right in front of the TV.

I was at my wits end. I had considered the unthinkable for my kitty of almost 12 years (having him put down) because he was ruining my home and I had tried everything, water in the tub, changing litter, changing boxes, changing location of the box ….

etc. I cried and cried not knowing what else I could do. Well, I researched yesterday to find other options to correct what he was doing in an effort to not have him put down(I knew I couldn’t rehome him because he wouldn’t use a liter box).

Well let me tell you…. this stuff is nothing short of a miracle!!! I picked up my kitty and carried him into the bathroom, I let him watch me set up his NEW liter box then he watched me pour in the NEW WORLDS BEST liter.

He was clawing to get out of the bathroom, I coaxed him to come near me and the liter box, eventually he came to me and began sniffing the box, then he began sniffing the liter inside, next thing I knew he got in the liter box, sniffed around and took a poop then proceeded to cover it up and hopped out!!!! I started yelling “He pooped in the liter box!!!” I picked him up and loved on him and praised him.

I started crying… my kitty is gonna stay here and I get to love him for many years to come!! FYI my kitty is a large kitty, so I purchased him an extra large liter box ( he is a Norwegian Forest Cat) and no my yelling didn’t scare him as he was born def.

if I could give this 4 1/2 stars I would. I absolutely can NOT STAND the scent of traditional clay litter, especially once it’s been used. I used to loathe scooping the litter box because of the smell which would only make it worse when I finally had to scoop it, and I’m sure my baby nico hated it as well.

my roommate uses this litter for their cat and highly recommended it, and when I finally ran out of the A&H litter we were using, I decided to try it out. I’m SO glad I did. the texture is pretty similar to traditional litter but the scent of the litter by itself is very minimal, I don’t have the nasty dust flying up in my face when I top the box off (there is a little bit but not nearly as much as with clay ones) AND I can just flush the waste down the toilet?? it’s incredible.

while I don’t personally smell anything when my boy pees on it, I will say it essentially does nothing for concealing solid waste smells. but I hardly care about that when I can now just take the litter box to the bathroom and flush his bombs down the toilet instead of having to put them in a single use plastic bag and then walk them all the way to the dumpster.

there’s also usually litter on the floor around the box after a few days, but I think my boy is just messy lol. bottom line, there are some cons to this litter but if you’re like me and hate the scent of traditional cat litter, they are easily outweighed by the fact that you can flush the litter and that the litter box won’t smell like a litter box.

I really wanted to love this litter. But it’s awful. Full disclosure, I bought it bc it came with a promotional free bag of cat food. I didn’t realize it was corn. At first I was delighted because it was rather lightweight, you do indeed use less volume wise than other litters, it was completely dust free and smelled so nice.

Couple that with its biodegradable feature and that it’s easy on furr babies’ respiratory systems, and it could have been perfect. But then, my cats started to use it. The clumping is very poor (even mixed with other clay clumping litter,) and you have to be very careful scooping it out or it will disintegrate back into your clean litter and this a bad feature bc its odor control is non existent.

In fact imo, it amplifies the ammonia smell or urine. So unless you use it in a litter box that’s outside or in a well ventilated area the smell is awful. My house smelled like wet saw dust, sauerkraut mixed with urine for days.

I will never buy this again. When I get a hankering for trying a litter that’s on sale- I need to remind myself of the brands that I do indeed love best (chewy’s Frisco, Scoop Away and Arm and Hammer’s clumping varieties,) before I choose the cheap stuff.

I bought this litter based on other reviews and I definitely have not been disappointed! (So thank you all!!) As background – Our household was using another name brand litter for our 2 cats. One of the litter boxes in our home is in a small bathroom where the ammonia odor quickly built up and was potent enough to linger even once scooped and topped off with fresh litter – not to mention it tracking everywhere! But not this litter! It really does what it says it will.

The smells from the box are absolutely contained for wellllllllll over a week and while not eliminated entirely (can any traditional style litter really do that though) the tracking of the litter has improved biggggg time! Now, full disclosure, I haven’t truly counted the number of days it stays “fresh” for, but I still can say for certain that in my experience, the scent is controlled for at least a full 7 days (and likely longer if I had actually counted!).

It sounds dramatic but seriously, what used to be a smell that felt like it overpowered a whole part of the house now is gone to the point where I’ve forgotten about it for longer than was “usual” and slacked on my litter scooping duties a little bit.

It also clumps way better than the other brand name we were using and the cats took to this no problem which is good considering I was concerned about them being sensitive to the grain and scent of this new litter.

Personally, I don’t mind the fabreze scent either! We were previously using unscented with our other brand (which really didn’t seem unscented at all) and with this one, despite it supposed to have a fabreze scent, I don’t feel like the fabreze lingers beyond those first few moments after you pour the litter into the box.

It pretty much works the same as if I spray regular fabreze for other scents in the house – it hangs around for a few minutes and then that there’s no air-freshener or litter box smell. All of these things have 100% converted me to this litter, and I’m so thankful I got it!.

I love the product but watch how it’s delivered. so I ordered three packs of 38 lb fresh step kitty litter I end up falling asleep last night woke up at 7:49 p. m. and my Christmas tree was on my porch that I ordered from Walmart and I happen to look out my storm door and I seen some outside my gate on the sidewalk outside of my yard so I wasn’t even on my property so I opened the door to see if I see what I really think I’m seeing yes they left all three packages right outside my gate on the public sidewalk.

I’m blown away that it wasn’t stolen. my Christmas tree was ordered from Walmart that delivery person put it on the porch. the delivery for the cat litter was supposed to be the exact same thing but they were different deliveries they weren’t brought together.

this is totally unacceptable so if you order this kitty litter don’t be surprised if they don’t bring it to your door because that’s heavy but I guess it was too heavy they wouldn’t sell it and have it up for delivery.

so that’s why delivery trucks have dollies anyway just be careful because I know I’m not the only one they’ve done this to. I order this off the internet because I’m disabled luckily my friend pulled up and he carried them up into my house.

cuz there’s no way I could have got them into my house myself no way. delivery instructions were to leave them inside the storm door on the porch. the Christmas tree delivery guy had no problem following them instructions.

I’ve had deliveries where they just put them right inside my over the side of the fence into the grass part of my yard there’s no beware of dog signs there’s no dogs even around my yard I have cats there’s no reason for them not to be able to bring it up to the parts cuz this is just totally unacceptable so just beware that if you order this kitty litter and it says it’s been delivered but it ain’t out there somebody probably took it cuz it’s probably been out on the sidewalk.

From the human that has to clean the litter box: 1 star – this litter does not clump well. Poops are very crumbly and if the scoop hits a poop head-on, it smears. Perhaps a trade-off to being dust free is looser clumping.

Though it is marketed as unscented, be aware that it does have a very noticeable scent– not overpowering like scented litters, but if you are expecting truly unscented, this is not it. From the six-month old kittens that use the litter: 5 stars.

I have to report fairly– even though I do not like this litter, my kittens love it. We have been using Sustainably Yours, but I was hoping to find something that tracks less. I gave Fresh Step a try in one litter box (out of three) and the kittens have been using it almost exclusively.

Another way I know they prefer this litter is that they actually come back inside to use it. I feed them at 7 AM and let them outside around 8 AM. In the past, they tended to wait to go outside for their morning toiletries.

However, since trying Fresh Step, they will use their litter box in the morning and will even come back inside to use it during the day (previously I did not see head nor tail until they come home for dinner).

It is very clear that they love Fresh Step. I’ll keep a litter box of Fresh Step while I continue to try other litters. I hope to find one they love, that clumps as well as Sustainably Yours but tracks less, and is also dust free-ish.

I’m discovering it is likely impossible to get everything on my wish list.

I tried this litter after a friend recommended it; I had been using Precious Cat litter for ten years and was getting very frustrated at how dusty and inefficient at odor control it had become. I have an asthmatic cat, and the little clouds of dust I would get while dumping litter in the box or scooping were bad news for him! I have to say I was really surprised that Free and Clean worked so well, because in my mind grocery store litter is associated with that awful ammonia smell, the old lady with too many cats smell.

It was actually quite the opposite: It is extremely low dust, nothing while pouring it in, nothing while scooping. The only time I start seeing dust is several weeks in, when it’s time to empty the box completely and wash it.

I have two large litter boxes and several cats in a two bedroom apartment and there is now ZERO smell from the boxes, even right after the cats go number 2. You would never guess cats lived here. Until you see the litter all over the floor, that is.

Yes, that’s the trade-off: the litter is super low dust, scoops very easily (no more chiseling off concrete blocks of pee stuck to the box, yay), has superb odor control BUT it tracks EVERYWHERE. And when I say everywhere, I mean all over every piece of furniture, all over the floor two rooms over, all over your bed, etc.

It also sticks very easily to fluffy longhaired cat butts. For me, the lack of smell and the absence of dust more than compensate for the constant sweeping I have to do, but if that drives you nuts that may not be the right product for you.

It’s also pretty pricey, and the packaging is so much plastic, I am not fond of it. But in the end until I find better, I am sold on this one!.

I gave this 2 stars because it is probably as good as most lightweight litters. I have 6 cats and transitioned to this from pine pellet litter, due to arthritis, the light weight and no need to sift pellets.

I thought this would be easier, but it was not at all! The first thing noticed was the PROFOUND scent for this type. I thought I had bought before and that it was lightly scented or no scent, but I was mistaken.

I had to buy the unscented kind and mix with it. The second thing I hated about this product was that within a couple of hours the entire room was coated as if someone threw sand everywhere from the tracking.

There was also a terrible coat of dust on everything. I clean and sweep this room daily, as well as scooping usually twice a day. I am used to clean floors and furniture in the room the cats use for the litter boxes, but this was impossible with this litter.

I just had to wait until this was all gone and do a thorough cleaning. Lastly, once used, this litter is no longer light weight at all. I am back to the pine pellets, but replacing every couple of days rather than sifting the pellets.

This is so much better for us. Poo does stink, but I scoop that and wa-la, I sweep up a few pellets and clean and happy! This was a large chore and extra expense that we did not need right now – lesson learned.

Smell☹️ Bought this because I had been using Pretty Litter which I LOVED for two years. However the dust after 3 mo was on everything in laundry room, folding table, all my crafting, so I stopped because of it and the fact cat kept sneezing.

Looked online for hours trying to find a TOTALLY dust free litter that also clumped well. These that say 99. 9% dust free, well after months, that 1% of dust REALLY adds up. I have NEVER, EVER had a problem with litter box odor.

However, after using this for about 4 days, I noticed this funky smell all thru my house similar to vomit, old urine, or just plain nasty. Whenever my cat came to, sit with me on the recliner, I noticed it more.

I just had brought her back from the groomers, and her fur smelled nice, it was soft, but there was something about her that just wasn’t right. At first I thought the smell was coming from my skin pores because I had started taking an all natural Vegetable vitamin, so I threw the bottle out and stopped.

When she got down from the chair, I still smelled this smell, and it was coming from the blanket she lays on and walks on. After 2 more days of continuing to smell this odor ALL thru my house except the back areas that were far away from the litter box, I thought OMG, it’s this new litter.

So here I am after reading so……… many reviews about the awful smell people were noticing that I’m smelling as I type this, it’s got to be the litter. I hate to throw it out. I bought 2 14 lb boxes of it because I was so thrilled to see that it was totally dustless.

I have no other complaints about the clumping, as some people stated, it worked fine for me, and is very soft, as my cat loves stepping and scratching in soft litter compared to others we have tried that’s like tiny pebbles.

So my search begins all over due to the fact I cannot and will not continue to smell this horrible smell thru my house. as I was washing clothes today in the laundry room where my cats litter box is, I totally realized the smell is from it.

Now since some people say the odor is pleasant and there isn’t a funky smell, it may be my cats urine that’s just not chemically balancing with whatever this litters made of. But whatever it is, It’s leaving my house just as soon as I can get to the store and purchase something else.

🧐I am SO very disappointed that this is happening because, I loved the NO DUST WHATSOEVER , but the smells overwhelming😩😩😩😩😩😩.

This was easily one of our favorite litters. Low, low dust, litter is confined to a limited area outside the litter box and mat and little to no scent. We changed to two other litters this year when it seemed like the texture of the litter changed.

We noticed the different color of the litter from the past litter boxes and it “seemed” to clump. A month or so later, we determined it was one of our cats that was tracking it all over because he was losing his vision and not the litter.

We will be going back to the Platinum Cloud Control. It works and is relatively clean. Negatives, the box is heavy and needs to ship separately from other items because it crushes whatever its shipped with.

Also, you need a chain saw to cut the box down for trash days.

I’ve been using another brand of litter (Tidycats) for ages but their current product is very dusty. I hate cleaning and decided that I needed something better. I did some on-line research and found the 100% dust free A&H Cloud Control claim and decided to give it a try.

It’s a huge improvement! I see no dust at all when I’m cleaning the litter boxes or when the cats are using them. In addition, there’s only a tiny amount of litter tracked out of the boxes, which is also a major improvement (and I have to clean even less now).

Finally, the “litter box smell” is much, much less. The only negative is the scent – I don’t care for it. But this gripe is very minor because the scent is very subtle. As long as the product performs, I can live with it.

Bottom line – I love this stuff and highly recommend it.

Much less dust than most clay litters but also like most, forms sticky gooey blobs when wet. Clumps, while better than many clay litters, are still not as solid and hard as desired. I resorted to this product while Garfield Corn/Cassava litter was out of stock and am glad it’s back.

Have a delivery due today. Garfield (same product as Sustainably Yours by the way) is the very best litter I’ve ever used. The one huge shortcoming of Garfield is its horrible tracking and scattering due to its pellet shape and lightweight.

We have previously used Liter Purrfect and later on Qualicat bulk cat litters from Costco but they are no longer able to source them from I think Canada. I gave Intersand Odourlock a trial and am extremely pleased with it as it does what it says and there is not the build up of odour which happens in a relatively sort time with other cat litters.

Clumping adequate though not quite as good as Litter Purrfect. So pleased with it I ordered another 3 packs!.
