This is a best-in-class ergonomic mouse. It genuinely did eliminate my wrist pains and elbow pains from years at a desk job. Ergonomically, this mouse ticks all the boxes. PROS 1 – It perfectly positions your wrist vertically unlike some ergo mice which position your wrist at 50-60 degrees.

2 – Its well researched design is shaped in such a way that all fingers, palm and thumb perfectly cup the mouse naturally. 3 – It has a small wing at the base for your pinky finger to rest on. So no finger rubs on the mousepad.

4 – It has 3 primary buttons plus scroller and plenty of additional functionality if required. 5 – This model is wireless!! CONS 1 – The chrome plastic finish is a completely unexpected drawback for me.

I never knew this would be a problem until I used it in warmer weather. Because the mouse cups your hand SO perfectly and the surface is smoother than Elon Musk’s latest rocket knob, there is absolutely no airflow under your hand.

As a result, the mouse surface/and your hand warm up quickly. Prolonged use in warmer weather (4-5 hours) results in sweat constantly building up everywhere on the mouse, repeatedly needing wiped off.

Even moderate temperatures make the mouse sticky and wet. I also own the Logitech MX Vertical Ergonomic mouse and whilst its not as perfectly ergonomic as this mouse, it’s a VERY CLOSE second in terms of ergo comfort, but considerably better in terms of surface material used and thermal control.

2 – I got the large version of this mouse because going by the measurement system on their website a large would be best for my hand size. That said, I’m a finger mouse user — meaning I prefer high mouse sensitivity so I can achieve most of my mouse movements on screen with minute finger movements appose to large wrist movements.

But because this mouse is so big and cups my hand perfectly I have absolutely NO minute finger control, only wrist control. For me this results in less accurate and slower mouse movements, which noticeably slows down my work efficiency.

I’d recommend the Logitech MX vertical Ergo mouse or a smaller version of this mouse if this is likely to be an issue for you. 3 – It’s the most expensive mouse on PBTech!!! So Choose wisely. I bought this mouse on blind faith hoping it would be good, AND IT IS.

But I never would have ever guessed these drawbacks mentioned above without trying it first, so I hope this info helps someone make an informed decision before sinking money on this mouse.

The new D series VerticalMouse comes in three sizes (S, M, L), and the M fits my hand well. Evoluent wins out over other vertical mice I’ve tried, at least in my book. The only snag is the Evoluent software got hung up on my Mac Pro running OS 14.

6. After deleting the scattered bits of the app, I’m simply using the standard button functions that the Mac OS allows rather than being able to assign different functions to the many different buttons and such.

(Another option is USB Overdrive, but I haven’t tried it yet on this particular mouse. ) Even with the software snag, the Evoluent VerticalMouse D rocks. And yes, it really does help keep your wrist healthy by keeping it in a far more natural orientation.

This vertical mouse is more vertical than most other products out there, such as the Logitech Vertical MX. I like a larger size than my hand measurements would indicate, because I like to relax my hand and have it well supported.

It does take a few days to get used to using it, but it’s worth it. The multiple buttons are great. I’ve got one to close a window (which in Chrome has an app-specific setting to close a tab instead).

You can set up the number 6 button (at the bottom of the thumb) to be like a shift key for the other buttons, supporting a second set of functions. (Amazon just called me a potty mouth. Sorry. ) I know the mouse seems a bit to shiny and slippery at first blush, but it actually isn’t a problem for me, keeping it in my hand.

I’m happy this version doesn’t have the spray on rubberized finish, because a search of eBay for used ones shows that that finish will deteriorate and peel off, and because I have touch allergies to similar kinds of rubber coatings.

I like the little dips for the fingertips on this model very much. Helps to feel oriented on the mouse, especially for beginners. I have occasional trouble with tracking, but it doesn’t last, and I suspect that’s only when my computer is a bit overloaded doing other tasks.

Although I don’t suffer from RSI, the 3M ergonomic mouse can help prevent RSI with its comfortable ergonomic design. This mouse features a unique ‘joystick-like’ shape in which the user grips the mouse like a banana! However, unlike a joystick, which pivots at a point, this mouse uses the traditional optical input.

This design allows the user to hold the mouse in a more ‘natural’ ergonomic position – less strain on the forearm and wrist. The grip is shaped to follow the contours of a clenched fist, in which to reduce the strain on the joints of fingers.

The right and left mouse buttons, found on the top of the grip, are controlled by the thumb; the middle mouse button, found on the left of the grip, can be controlled by either the middle or ring finger.

All three mouse buttons require little effort to press as the fingers used are stronger than the index finger, which in turn reduces finger fatigue. There is however no scroll wheel so the scrolling is similar to a Thinkpad trackpoint – which can be annoying for reading large documents and viewing forums.

At first, it takes a little while to adjust to the layout of this mouse, but later on the user can feel the benefits and may never want to go back to a traditional mouse. This mouse is definitely not built for gaming in mind.

Apart from the absence of a scroll wheel, moving the mouse left and right with the wrist is easy and precise, except moving up and down with the forearm provides a bit of a challenge. Using this mouse in First Person Shooters, for example, is extremely difficult because aiming up and down with the forearm is tiring and inaccurate.

The same idea can be applied to drawing, although if a user wants to draw, they should be using a drawing tablet with stylus or digitizer pen anyway. Overall this mouse is great for heavy mouse users who are suffering from RSI or are willing to prevent it, but not for users who play games or require accurate mouse movements in applications.

I have been using the 3M Ergonomic mouse for at least 6 mouths now and after using a regular one I was getting pains from my hands upward in my arm. After looking online for something better, all but this one seemed to make you hand facing downward.

I thought that this was likely the problem. The 3M has taken the pain away and I hardly ever feel any pain in my arm which is great when your job is at the computer all day. One improvement I would like to see is being able to configure the buttons.

The lower hand button I would like to change from scrolling to the enter button. If you are experiencing pain in the hand, wrist and arm try this mouse.

I’ve been using a 3M Joystick Mouse for about 10 years now. I believe I avoided carpal tunnel with this mouse. I know I solved my wrist and arm pain. I won’t use any other mouse. I know nothing about software that goes with this mouse as I’ve never read the manual that’s available for it.

I just know I’m using the wired one at work on a pc with Windows 10 and it works as expected with no issues. Just plugged it in and it worked fine. I started with a wireless one and it came apart on me in about 3 years, but it still works.

That one is on my home computer. I keep taping it back together. That’s my 10 year mouse and it’s still working. No other mouse I’ve tried has lasted or felt as good as a 3M.

Pro the mouse unique shape is quite comfortable. And the buttons positions means you can click without moving the mouse by mistake. The big base means you can actually rest the side of your hand on it and move it.

Cons you can’t click quickly. You might tend to grab it as a normal mouse. it forgets the dpi on each computer turn off. The sensor is useless! they forgot the most important thing: It has a HUGE deadzone, minor movements are completely ignored! Either you make quick movements or nothing happens.

Im using 3D software and this alone makes it unusable, i will return it. Also it’s too expensive.

Started looking at vertical mice after starting to have wrist pains with the tons of clicking I have been doing for work. Gave this a try after looking at a couple of options and worked out really well.

Took about a day or two to get used to it but love the fact you can switch between hands with the front switch. Also the hand feels a lot better during the work day compared to before with the regular office mouse, so highly recommend to give it a try if having pain/tightness in the wrist too.

I got medium because my hand is roughly around 16cm but I think I could have gone for the small too. The second one I ordered is a Small to compare the sizes (not shipped yet) but medium also works fine for my office use.

Second one is for my home computer because don’t think I would be using a regular mouse again. Overall, a good investment for your hands if you need to do a lot of clicking.

I already own the optical version of this mouse, and bought this one accidentally, not realising it has a ball. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and the ball vs optical thing has not been a problem.

The reason I bought a second one is because I travel for work, and rather than have to pack up my workstation, I can leave a mouse in my laptop bag and just throw my laptop in. I’ve suggested one for a friend who has been converted, and I’ve also tried the cheaper ergonomic mice that are available, but they’re nowhere near as good. This has a very good pistol-like grip, rather than a “claw” grip like standard or cheaper ergonomic mice.

It takes about an hour to get used to the left/right mouse buttons with your thumb and scroll with the middle button, but once you get used to it, there’s no going back. Like I said, I bought two, that’s how good I think they are.

I bought my first ergonomic mouse over 10 years ago when I began to develop carpal tunnel syndrome at my job. The therapist recommended this mouse and it has done wonders over the years. My carpal tunnel subsided with its use.

I feel much more comfortable using a mouse. My hand and arm are in a more natural position. And, it is unique. You should see the looks on the faces of IT support staff when they see this mouse. I have recommended the 3M Ergonomic Mouse to many of my co-workers.

On my 2nd one; 1st lasted over 8 years. (Also have a right-handed one. ) Got my first one around the same time as getting a Kinesis Freestyle keyboard, and this mouse took longer to acclimate to. It’s not just that it’s vertical mouse, it’s a different shape.

Usable initially, but comfortable in a few days. so much so, that I had to get one for my work computer. Not convinced that it would be helpful? Hold out your mouse arm, straight away from your body, and rotate it till your hand is in position to use a normal mouse.

Now rotate that same arm so the thumb is in the highest position of any digit. Which position is more comfortable? Extra buttons: Top button is for left clicks, middle for right clicks, bottom button is for double left clicks.

Thumb controls forward & reverse web page navigation. And the scroll wheel displays the desktop. Thought these extra buttons were gimmicks, but now I cannot live without them.

This is one of the best vertical mouses and I have experience with vertical mouses for about 10 years. Product is very light. A bit more mass would be better. Its easy to flick it off the table by accident.

Plastic is very flat leaving no groowes where palm heat could dissipate. My hand is warm because of that and this degrades the experience. Arm position is nice vertical. Buttons are well positioned but fifth finger tends to land on the table.

Buttons are too soft and wheel doesnt feel much premium. More like it will fall apart any moment. There are similar and less pricey options offering good ergonomics and value for the money, such as older m618 models.

Price is ok for someone from the US. The rest of us have to pay very expensive shipping and handling.

I work all day at my computer. The last year has resulted in an increasingly disabling pain in knuckles. I changed to my left hand, which was great for a while; then that hand began to have the same problem.

This mouse was expensive – but I decided to buy it. In a week I had noticed improvement. I have had it now for – well, not sure; a couple of weeks? It has been night and day. And having it sent to Pukekohe – got here the day after.

It’s probably way more “mouse” than I need. I was having a tendonitis flareup. “Get this mouse,” I was told. Ok. 3 buttons. I deactivated one because I was constantly clicking it. “You’ll get past that,” I was told.

Hmmm, well, 2 weeks and not yet (I can hear it when I click it accidentally). Like any mouse, you can set pointer speed through Windows, so having it on board is redundant. Set and forget. Left button, right button, wheel – they work.

Nothing special there, other than at first it seems like if you scroll slowly, the page moves slowly. I can probably describe that better – because it’s REALLY annoying for the page to not move consistently with the scroll wheel.

If I want 3 lines per wheel click, then I want 3 lines whether I move the wheel 1 click forward or backward. This is more like 1 line per forward click, and 1 line per TWO backward clicks – and that’s REALLY annoying.

And the wheel only clicks audibly in one direction – it’s silent in the other (you can feel the notch, but there’s no “click”). Push the wheel 1 click away and you get 2 silent lines. Pull it back one click and you get 1 audible click with no movement – until you pull it back a 2nd click, and then you get 1 line movement with an audible click.

So when you push, it moves with every click, but when you pull it moves with every OTHER click. What the. ? I’m not sure that I understand how that is a better system than a standard mouse – or why it’s built into this one at all.

It’s as if someone said “Hey, let’s make it do THIS!” Makes no sense to me. No wonder it seems to scroll ok when I push the wheel to scroll up, but goes real slow when I pull the wheel to scroll down – because that’s exactly how it works – 1 click per line to scroll up, TWO clicks per line to scroll down.

Nobody mentioned that in the literature. Forward, back thumb button? I suppose someone is desperate for that feature, but it’s not necessary for me. Software to set up a mouse? Ok, again, I don’t see the point.

Maybe the software is great, but for me it was completely unnecessary – I plugged in the dongle and the mouse worked out of the box. Point for Evoluent. Maybe the software is so the user can defeat the crazy default settings and get the mouse to work like a normal mouse has worked for what, 30 years? Texture, feel, weight, all pretty much standard, but I’ve been using a mouse daily for 3 decades anyway (wireless since 2005) and so there’s really no need for something new or different, other than hand position – and I guess that’s the big selling point.

I usedthe mouse for a few days (I want to say 3, might have been 4), and the tendonitis I think got worse – went from occasional/positional to constant ache. Got bad enough I picked up a wrist brace and VIOLA! Next day, no more pain.

The Evoluent Mouse is a take-it-or-leave-it thing. It’s not “bad,” but it’s not a panacea, either. Pretty expensive for what it is and does. It’s ok, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Try an inexpensive vertical mouse 1st and see if you like it enough to spend more money on an Evoluent so you can try to figure out if the software can correct the crazy default behavior.

I believe you can download the software from Evoluent. I don’t have that kind of time.

In terms of comfort and ergonomic design, this vertical mouse is absolutely outstanding. However I was quite disappointed that the drivers for Mac OS are so out of date that it basically only functions as a two button mouse, instead of the six customizable buttons that it ought to have.

It’s probably fine for Windows, but for a Mac using anything later than OS 10. 13, forget about it.

I love this mouse. It’s easy to use and fits well in my hand. It’s comfortable and practice, and really doesn’t take long to get used to. Recently after about a year of use it started to double click by itself.

Even after adjusting the mouse settings on my computer it seems to be the mouse itself. That’s the reason I’ve rated it 4/5. I never had this issue with the previous model. It’s a bit frustrating to use now.

I felt the mouse lived up to its potential. After doing extensive research into left-handed ergonomic mice on the market, this was the only one available at a reasonable price. I’m also really pleased that I can utilize left- or right-handed mice now.

After extensive shopping and comparing I decided to purchase this mouse that I could not afford because of all the promises made by the manufacturer. They promised that it would work at any angle, and on almost all surfaces, even glass, at an unobstructed distance of 10 meters.

It failed in every category. At an unobstructed distance of 7 meters it would not track accurately on any surface including the 3M Precise mouse pad. The design was very comfortable except for the smooth shiny plastic that stuck to my hand even when not perspiring, and did not have lotion, or any other solution on my hand.

Cleaning with a clean soft cloth didn’t help. I paid the lowest price of $41. I suggest shoppers check out the Perixx left hand mouse. It is identical in design, has a comfortable non-stick coating, and has a lowest price of $25, $16 less than the Adesso.

BTW, my Delux brand mouse works perfectly at 8 meters, and my Logitech mouse works perfectly at a full 10 meters. All 3 mini receivers were connected to the same hub.

Regular mouse for comparison – Logitech MX Master. This is the first “lift” mouse I have tried – and it definitely has a different feel than a standard mouse. The angle of the lift mouse shifts “resting weight” from the heel of my hand to the side of my hand.

This may prove a real benefit from those that have developed stress-related discomfort from prolonged use of a standard mouse. The mouse seems a little bit small for my pretty normal sized male hands, and with more use I might settle in with the differences and experience a “new normal” from using the lift design.

Weight of the mouse is very light, and using a lighter mouse for a long period of time would certainly reduce hand and wrist fatigue. The pairing with Bluetooth or the dongle works well, and depending on your preference either type of connection should provide reliable use.

All in all – an “ergonomic” mouse such as the lift really boils down to who is using the mouse, hand size, and how you hold the mouse and distribute the weight of your hand. After using this mouse for a few hours I became more accustomed to the feel, and would not have a problem using this as my main mouse if needed.

My personal preference is the heavier MX mouse – and I think that is probably because that is what I am used to, and have no issues with the MX that are solved by using the lift. BestBuy is good about having mouse selections on display so you can literally “put your hands on one” – so I would recommend that you test drive the lift mouse display model to see if it fits you.

There are two models – one for “small-medium” and one for “medium-large” hands – so that is also something to consider when making your decision. No question that Logitech is an industry leader in mouse design and innovation.

I cannot recall ever having an issue with a Logitech – so the main consideration is to find the model that best suits your individual needs. If you have a repetitive stress issue, or have discomfort from using a “standard” moust for extended periods, then the lift mouse may be a good solution for you.

Over the last 2 years or so working heavily on the computer with a standard mouse I began to develop severe wrist and forearm pains from repetitive stress. After some physical therapy and the use of braces I switched up to a vertical mouse.

I was using a cheap vertical mouse I found on Amazon for a roughly 8 months but it began to start creaking and the scroll wheel started squealing. I tried the Logitech MX Vertical but it did not fit my hand that well compared to a $20 mouse.

A few months down the line Logitech made the lift and I was fed up with my cheapo mouse so I took the opportunity to give this new ergo mouse a go. The angle is similar to my cheap mouse but the grip is better.

After dealing with creaky buttons and scroll wheels the quite touch buttons and smooth wheel are a huge welcome relief! I particularly like how the palm portion is a grippy soft touch where but the high wear area of the fingertips are a semi textured harder plastic.

This will no doubt smooth down in shiny spots but it is better than when the soft touch breaks down and gets too tacky. There are multiple connections and the ability to use Logitech Flow which and the 3 connections allows me to use several devices, work desktop/surface tablet (via Flow), personal laptop and Samsung Dex.

I was able to switch me cheap mouse as it has Bluetooth and 2. 4ghz connections but it only allowed me 2 connections. The Lift allowed me to eliminate a mouse from my desktop setup. The Lift is smaller and lighter than the MX Vertical and my old cheap mouse and I use 2 different grips with it.

I can either palm the entire mouse and my fingertips over hang the buttons, which I can still click the left and right buttons. Or I can shift my thumb from the thumb rest ledge to the edge of the mouse to lift and readjust without breaking my grip.

(don’t know how ergonomic that is but it is working for me and not uncomfortable at the moment). As of now I see this as a perfectly suitable replacement for my cheap Amazon mouse and would recommend it to anyone who deals with repetitive wrist/arm pain from longhours on the computer.

At first glance, it’s an unusual design, but it’s actually been very comfortable. It took a couple of hours to get used to the ‘non-traditional’ hand positioning, but I don’t know that I’ll ever go back now.

It feels much more natural than a traditional mouse. Pairing, via bluetooth anyway, was effortless. I didn’t bother trying the Logi Bolt USB receiver since the bluetooth pairing was so easy. It has a feature that allows you to pair it with up to three devices.

There’s a little button, on the underside of the mouse, that you press to cycle between the devices. Personally, I find the location of the button mildly inconvenient. Perhaps that’s because I’m coming from a Logitech MX Ergo, which has the button for that function conveniently on the top of the mouse, and easily facilitates single-handedly switching between devices.

Another miss with this feature is that it cycles through all three devices, even if you’re only using two. So, to switch from device A to device B only requires a single button press, but switching from B back to A requires two button presses as you have to cycle through what would be device C.

Still not a deal breaker though. Installing the Options+ software (which is technically in Beta release, but you don’t need an invite) gives you the ability to change what the buttons do. You can change them globally, meaning no matter what app you’re in, you can set the front thumb button to ‘Copy’ (or several other functions), the rear thumb button to ‘Paste’, and the middle button to ‘Screen Snip’.

You can also create app-specific settings, such as when working in Excel, have the rear thumb button ‘Paste Values’, or ‘Next Sheet’, etc… Pretty cool actually, as I use Screen Snip & Paste Values frequently.

It also uses a single ‘AA’ battery, as opposed to an internal rechargeable battery like my MX Ergo. Personally, I prefer the regular ‘AA’ battery, as I can almost always find another one lying around the house in the event the battery dies.

With my MX Ergo, I have to plug it in to get it charged back up. Overall, I’m impressed & would definitely recommend the Logitech Lift to others.

I have started to suffer with RSI and possible Carpal Tunnel and researched a number of different options on Mice to use to try to ease the strain on my wrist. I settled for the Vertical Mouse option and read a number of reviews about this Fellowes Penguin product.

I find it a really good grip and movement is very good with adjustable DPI speeds too. The wireless connectivity and battery life per charge are also excellent. What takes a little time to adopt and adapt is the right click set up but after a couple of weeks I developed a good strategy with it.

more especially as I am left handed! I am personally very pleased with the tactile nature of the units controls.

Finally a great mouse that does not cause me any more pain. I have tried everything and this works great. Nice transition from the usual mouse. I have tried several different styles and this is the beat one!.

I love this mouse and have probably bought at least three of them in the past five years.  I have my original and then I have bought the others for coworkers. I thought I would have to have wrist surgery because my wrists were so sore from traditional mouse and keyboard.

This mouse eliminated any wrist pain I had and I have not had a problem since!.

I don’t do customizable buttons and the scroll function doesn’t work as well as some other mice but I’ve noticed it less and less. It took me a while to get used to mice when I first sat down with a pc.

When sitting with my mom or pop and seeing them use a mouse I am reminded of the difficulty on using a device, any device, for the first time. Most folks don’t remember there first time. I was in my 20’s and do remember the difficulty.

Getting functional with this is just that revisited. Oh, the pain. It’s gone, almost immediately. I tried trackballs, Msoft (the best), Kensington (cheap, cheap) and there just isn’t much choice left.

Highly recommended. you will get used to it. and the pain rellief dividend is incalculable.

We keyboard warriors and office drones often find many things to complain about, like lag, screens to small, not enough ram but I’ve nothing to complain about when it comes to this mouse other than 35 years of adjustment to the new style.

I never noticed how much my wrist actually hurt after the 10-12 hours a day I put into using a mouse and then age caught up with me. And while I may never be able to play counterstrike with this mouse, because I’m old and don’t want to change that part of me, the majority of my work day is using this new mouse.

My arm pain and soreness has been reduced by at least 90%(does nothing for my eyes or my hunched back). It does require a bit of learning curve and yes, I do unintentionally whack it from time to time because of it’s height but I would recommend this to any desktop worker and feel like this type of model should be put in all schools.

I love my mouse! This is great if you have hand/wrist problems with the traditional mice. However, every morning before using I have to reconnect the bluetooth and it takes 3-5 minutes to catch on. Its not a huge deal but its a bit frustrating when I’m in a hurry (to work).

Unplugging and plugging little chip back into the computer usually does the trick after a few tries. The mouse is fast, and accurate. I haven’t had any lagging or glitching AT ALL.

I’ve used the Perfit Mouse off and on for RSI injuries in my wrist. Overall, once I got used to it, I love the fit and feel. Takes a while to learn to drive the mouse with your arm and not grip it. This latest edition is easy to adjust, however, I don’t like the scrolling action much.

The placement is awkward. and strains my thumb a little bit. Guess I was spoiled by the wonderful intuitive scrolling of the Apple Magic Mouse. Still, I am glad I have this when my wrist acts up!.

I really like the fit and layout of the controls. I’ve been using one or another Perfit mouse for about 14 years. Unfortunately, the switches could be more robust. One lasted only about two years, I tried replacing the switch but don’t have the skills for micro-soldering.

The next mouse got a balky switch just from dropping it on a carpeted floor. Another caveat is that sometimes the software needs updating or reinstalling, and Contour Design doesn’t update it very often.

I’m now on my 4th one. It’s an XL, I usually get an L, but it fits fine. In sum, excellent design, but could use better company support and more durable switches. Thanks.

This wired version of the contour mouse is discontinued now. My hand is very relaxed using it. Its like just laying my hand on my desk. The middle click, thumb scroll, and thumb buttons are just lovely.

Sometimes I wonder if the medium size I got is the right fit but I figure this mouse is ergonomic enough that the minor size differences are negligible. Ill probable snag another in a different size if I come across another cheap listing.

I first got into vertical mouse with Anker brand. But I needed a left-hand option to take strain off of my right hand. Strangely, Anker doesnt offer certain mice in left hand variants. Ive only been using the Perixx mouse for about a week, but Im already very pleased with its comfort, precision, and performance.

I think Ill be buying a right-hand version as well.

I had tried a few other ergonomic mice before this and wasn’t totally happy with any of them. This on the other hand is great. Lovely and comfortable. Uses ‘ordinary’ batteries (some of the other ones had rechargeable batteries that needed to be charged every couple of days).

Switchable DPI – which I didn’t think I would use but I find myself switching DPI when playing games then back again for ‘normal’ use. Handy downloadable control panel / driver (you don’t need the driver) where you can change just about everything.

This replaced a 80 top brand laser mouse (normal shape) and I’m much happier now. Well recommended.

Great value for the money; it fits perfectly into the hand and the buttons are well placed. I also like the fact that’s illuminated. Get it if you want to make working on the computer more comfortable and enjoyable.

Very good cheap alternative to Logitech MX vertical wireless mouse. Overall good quality.
