20 Best Mountain Bike Shorts For Big Guys (2023 Updated)

I’ve been riding the Leatt shorts for a few months, and liked the 2. 0 so much I’ve bought another pair. They are light weight, well vented, fit well, and are comfortable. They are snug enough that they don’t flap around, but have enough room in the legs that I don’t feel them when pedaling.

The fabric is softer than most shorts I’ve used, and stretches. I have both the 2. 0 and 4. 0 shorts. The 4. 0 are reinforced, and heavier. I like the 2. 0 for everyday cross county rides, and use the 4.

0 for gravity riding days, or on colder days. I’m a true 32 waist, and the M fits perfect. The waist adjuster straps work well, and keep the shorts up above my hip bones so they never slip down. There are more pockets than I need, but they work well for carrying snacks, and a wallet.

There is a cell phone pocket in the back, but I keep my cell phone in my jersey, so haven’t used that pocket. A standard iPhone fits in the front pockets too for walking around after rides. These shorts are great for before/after rides too.

These Leatt shorts are hands down my favorite of all the styles I’ve tried! They are so comfortable and flattering with adjustable waist tabs to dial in the fit. The huge side pockets are my favorite part.

They’re so convenient for storing my phone that I end up wearing these shorts off the bike a lot as well, making them an even better purchase! The material is lightweight, has a premium feel, and is very durable.

The shorts have been through so many wears, washes, a few crashes, and they still look like new. Side note: these do have a somewhat low rise fit. I personally love this and find it comfortable while I’m riding, but I know some people prefer high rise so I figured it was important to mention.

These shorts are easily the most comfortable shorts I have worn. The fabric has a really nice feel, the fit for me is perfect with the tab adjustment and the slightly elasticated waste providing room for movement.

If I had to nominate some faults, they would be the gusset fly instead of a zip and the hip pockets are just that – they are to the side rather than front and, although very secure with the zip opening, are a little difficult to get into.

In reality though, these faults were initial perceptions and are easily excuse given the super comfort. Durability? Not sure just yet but they have taken a couple of tumbles and are still in good shape.

I have no hesitation in recommending these short if you’re after great comfort and feel at a very good price.

I have bought a few pairs of Troy Lee shorts recently due to increased riding and reduced waist during COVID. I have noticed a few things. 1. The materials have gotten a lot cheaper. The materials are thinner, less flexible and not as robust as they were only a couple years ago.

2. The have features removed. For example, zippered vents, extra zippered pockets, etc. Now for these shorts. They are made from a VERY thin material compared to other TLD shorts. I ride near a lot of thigh high shrubs, SoCal and Utah, and crash on granite, Utah.

Now saying that, they have not yet torn but they are not my go to shorts either. These shorts to me are kind of a hybrid XC type short and definitely will not accommodate knee pads; well at least my MTB thighs won’t allow them.

So, they may be a good deal during a SALE but I’m going to start researching other brands. TLD used to be my go-to, but it is my opinion they are taking advantage of the name and lowering quality of materials and features to increase profit and hopefully no one will notice.

I noticed.

Great shorts but a warning to all that they run a little smaller than other brands, at least in size 20. My twin 5 year olds have size 20 MX pants from O’Neal and Seven which are consistent with each other in size and currently fit them well.

With the waist adjusters on the TLD shorts all the way out, the TLD shorts fit about like the O’Neal and Seven MX pants with those adjusters all the way IN, meaning the Seven and ONeal stuff has a max waist about 2 full inches bigger.

With the waist adjusters on the TLD shorts out all the way, these shorts in size 20 have about the same waist as Old Navy size 5 shorts. The shorts are well made and look great. They do not have a massive amount of extra material around the legs hips, but the leg openings are big enough to accept the skinny type knee pads.

Material seems heavy duty and the stitching looks straight and strong. I recommend them, but consider going up a size.

I am a retired man who loves to go on 15-20 mile treks on my road bike. I am 6′ & 185 lbs, and I bought the size 36: it fits me perfectly. I own 3 top-end biking shorts, all from different companies: the TLD Skyline is my favorite by far.

It hits the sweet spot in terms of the fabric not being too heavy nor too light. The 2 zippered side pockets are substantial ones. The attached liner is snug yet comfortable. Unlike some other brands with ostentatious labeling, the Skyline’s markings are subdued and handsome.

I could tell from taking it right out of the packaging that this was a quality product. I recommend it highly.

Lightweight 3/4 shorts. With plenty of zips & pockets for those items that are easy to carry. Colour is a personal preference but I like the hard wearing areas &. Stretch to make the fit more comfortable.

Material is very lightweight summer use only unlike other in the range that is more hard wearing. You can fit pads under the knee areas with tightening Velcro straps to secure. With the inner liner fitted in position they are comfy & perfectly able to be worn for longer rides in the saddle.

Probably more a recreational pair of shorts than for harder xc/downhill activity. Without additional padding in specific areas hips/ then a fall not recommended. Splashproof but certainly not waterproof.

Not the cheapest shorts on the market but they do have a quality feel & should last.

Had these shorts a couple of weeks now and can’t really fault them. Size and fit is perfect, the extra small pockets are extremely useful, and the zipped vents work well. Button and zip seem strong and the basic belt, with plastic clip, works well.

The elasticated back panel makes them extremely comfortable when sat on a bike and keeps them in place. They appear well made and durable and I haven’t come across any faults in the fabric or stitching.

The only downside is, as others have already mentioned, the liners are a pretty snug fit around the legs. Having said that I haven’t found this an major issue once out on the trails and they certainly won’t ride up! The poppers that attach the liners to the shorts can irritate when wearing a waist pack but only really noticed on longer rides.

Overall a great pair of shorts, so much so I’m considering a pair of ¾ length ones for the cooler months and maybe some armoured liners in the next size up too. If your considering buying you won’t be disappointed and Sigma Sports delivered quickly and were competitively priced.

Bought medium the first time super small, all thought the select liners in a medium fit great. The cargo short liner, just doesn’t cut the mustard. The large pair actually fit ok in the waist and legs, but the pad is horrible.

For whatever reason, the pad has a big crease down the center that goes directly up your crack. Very uncomfortable, I wore them for maybe a min or 2 around the house, and sit on the bike seat in the garage.

The cargo liners just aren’t comfortable. I bought a medium and large 2 different orders. On order 2 I also purchased the select liners from Pearl Izumi, they are very comfortable and the medium size fits like it should.

Try if you want to, but my experience with these specific liners from PI was not pleasant.

I avoided buying the Quest shorts because of declining reviews in recent months due to poor-quality padding, but looks like these have been hit with the same cost-cutting affliction. No contoured seam or sculpting here, just a huge piece of constant-thickness foam with a super cheap zigzag seam.

This seam allows the edge of the foam to lift and chafe against my inner thighs when off the saddle, since the lack of sculpting keeps the padding from folding properly around body contours. These are going back to REI posthaste – not worth even half their price.

There really ought to be an image of the padding on any pair of bike shorts retailing online. Had I seen these in person, I never would have bought them in the first place. Too bad – always thought PI was a good brand until now.

The last Pearl Izumi cycling shorts I bought have at least 4,000 miles on them. I machine wash them, dry them in the dryer, and otherwise generally don’t take superb care of them. They are still unbelievably comfortable.

I bought the Attack shorts for occasional use with an indoor bike in another city, thinking they would be similarly great… they are not. The overall feel is just cheap and rigid. The chamois is not contoured, and feels sort of like sitting on a piece of styrofoam.

If these were half the cost, I’d understand, but they are priced like a decently upper-mid-level product. Going to try something else next.

It’s a bit annoying when I have purchased these shorts before and a friend asked me to order some for her and we went to great lengths to get the size and the colour right and guess what I received the wrong size and colour.

Not happy Jan. Also I ordered another pair and there wasn’t even a proper zip in them, so I won’t be buying any more.

Great shorts! But please add a proper button to the front. Sort of a flimsy solution that’s there now

These are my second pair, the first I bought at my LBS, then I saw these on an Alti Sale…it was an instant purchase. The fabric is a lightweight, 2 way stretch, breathable ripstop fabric, I’ve ridden in temperatures between 16-36c and they’ve been very comfortable, the waistband is both perforated and padded to absorb sweat and prevent chafing, these Ranger shorts also have YKK zips and decent sized pockets that easily keep my iPhone 13 pro in place.

The colour is nothing like the image (luckily) they are more of a warm grey or dry clay colour, perfect on the dusty trails I ride. They also come with a good quality liner chamois, It is thin but very well designed and does the job for me.

What really swayed me was the fit and the waist adjustment, I’m usually a 36, but sometimes drop to a 34 inch waist, the simple adjustment means I can alter them easily if I drop some inches. With other Fox shorts I was either squeezed into a 34 or loose in a 36, with these I have a good range of adjustment.

Lastly, even though they fit my knee pads fine, they aren’t massively baggy around the knee, great. Would also like to thank the staff at altitude for help with a previous order, they’re the best online company I’ve dealt with, thank you.

Almost perfect if the crotch area get a zipper or velcro underneath the waist snap button. You don’t want anything to hop in that area while you’re out in the elements, or when you are off the bike, you don’t want any accident less than decency when that crotch area got some free entry/exit.

:D. Overall, very awesome design especially the fact that it doesn’t have elastic waist band as those will lost elasticity over time. 28 is actually 30, tighten/loosen the strap as you go. (or grow).

Inner liner is a bit tight but these material also tend to stretched out over time and lost the elasticity, so tighter now but it will still be fine later, only wear them when riding. However for those who do feel too tight that cuts circulation, yeah, no comment there.

I wish the zipped pocket is larger for a wallet. It’s probably would fit a credit card size wallet, fine, time has changed. lol. Overall, a legit MTB shorts. Highly recommend them.

I got these shorts in size 22 for my tall, but slender 8yo daughter who is about 55” tall and weighs 59 lbs. The shorts fit great but don’t have much room to grow. Unfortunately, the included padded liner is too tight according to my daughter (she’s used to wearing another padded liner from another brand), so she gave the included liner to her little brother who is almost 5 years old and of average build for his age.

They fit him fine with room to grow for a couple years. It worked out for us because I couldn’t find liners small enough in the waist for my son, but I thought it’s worth mentioning that the liner doesn’t seem TTS compared to the shorts.

If your child doesn’t mind a liner that fits tight right against the skin like a pair of normal underwear, these could be fine. My child might be more sensitive to tight undergarments. Anyway, I find these shorts to be a great buy.

It’s so hard to find girl-friendly MTB shorts that aren’t super long and baggy, and even harder to find them in fun colors. We’ll buy more pairs and will probably continue to pass the liners down to little bro and purchase separate liners for my daughter.

Fit is pretty perfect. Comfortable. Breathable. Even has a small pocket at the base of your spine that fits a cell phone which is a way better spot for a phone than a cargo pocket.

Liking the lightweight feel of the shorts. Good construction. Quality product. Would definitely recommend these shorts. Not Enduro length, which is nice for an XC guy

Shorts are nice and light weight and fit really well. Lots of pockets to secure your phone, keys, snacks, co2, multi-tool, tire lever, and a multitude of other items (note: not all items will fit simultaneously).

I am a happy long time user of the Louis Garneau Women’s Sprint Tri 7 Inch Shorts which have a very low profile chamois. I was hoping to try another pair of LGs that offer a more substantial chamois for rides longer than 20-30 miles.

The Neo Power shorts weren’t it for me. The chamois felt rock hard and bulky between my legs and would surely cause chafing if worn on a ride. The front of the chamois didn’t feel specific to the female anatomy and didn’t provide any cradling or comfort.

The chamois does have nice channels for ventilation. I wouldn’t swear off Louis garneau shorts altogether but any with this specific chamois just don’t work for me, although we are all built differently! These ran slightly smaller/tighter than my Sprint shorts btw.

I purchased a medium in both. I’m 5’9 130 lbs small waist, big hips, slightly large/muscular thighs. I’m usually a medium in cycling shorts. These felt good around my waist but small in the legs/thighs compared to my sprints which have less compression.

Pros: True to size, and comfortable to wear. Gel padding is great for very long rides. Thigh grips aren’t so tight they tear your skin, but don’t get weird and loose, it’s just right, I was shocked they were so comfortable.

The waist didn’t roll down on the ride either or get uncomfortable. CONS: THEY ARE 100% SEE THROUGH. Do not wear these alone and if you do make certain you’re wearing black underwear. These are NOT bike shorts, they are liners you can wear under shorts even though I was convinced they were when I shopped.

The material is thinner than the liners I actually own. You can see EVERYTHING. So beware. Other than that I 10/10 love these since they are comfortable and that gel pad will let you ride 100 miles a day in comfort.

Pros: > Best chamois ever, when brand new > Love the compression, this combined with the chamois make these the best shorts I’ve ever tried > One of the only brands to offer women’s shorts in XXL > Really like the reflective detail at the bottom of the short’s legs > The little tiny pocket is great for chapstick or a gel Cons: > From my experience, the chamois delaminates internally (the glue seems to dissolve).

My workaround, when they’re brand new, is to throw in a few stiching tacks to prevent this from happening down the road (about 7-months of weekly use) > Unfortunately, the stitching, for me, also gives out at about the same time as the glue (about 7-months of weekly use); however, all you need to do is connect with their customer service to get a warranty replacement if it’s been less than a year and this happens – Fantastic customer service! > Garneau’s XXL is truly more like an XL, at least in this particular short.

Still, it’s the best larger short I’ve tried yet. > Wish the bib on this short were like the Men’s Garneau Neo Power Motion Bib. Women don’t need / want the bib to cinch in at the chest. All this does is make it visible at the top of your jersey.

Not flattering or necessary. A regular bib would make this great short even better.

they run a little small like everyone says, just buy one size up. I’m 117-124 lbs and 5 foot 4 and the 6 fits well because you can loosen or tighten the inside velcro in the waist. very comfortable fabric and durable, nice that it comes with a liner! I have not purchased a second pair of these because I love them.

wish the pocket was a little bigger than just for one key.

I got my first pair of CR Fuse shorts. I’ve exclusively ridden Zoic shorts, and really like the Fuse shorts. Pros: fabric feels more substantial than Zoic Ether shorts. Zippers feel more heavy duty. Cleaner looking design than Zoic Ether.

They fit my Thunder thighs great. Perfect knee coverage/length. Cons: they ride a little warmer than Zoic Ethers in warm weather. Fewer pockets than Zoic Ether. The 2hr liner that came with the shorts feels a little chunky compared to Zoic Liners, but is similarly comfortable.

I think I will probably use Zoic Ether shorts during the hottest months, and CR Fuse the rest of the year.

I honestly don’t see wearing any other pair of shorts that I have. These are perfect for me. The length is just to the upper knee. They are perfect weight and despite not having any vents, they breathe very well.

I am a 34-35 inch waist and the shorts fit perfectly. There is some stretch and Velcro adjustability if needed but I fall right in the middle. I also appreciate how the thigh pockets are laid out. They extend laterally down your thigh, not out front and have just enough room for a phone.

All this and they come with a 2 hour (no problem doing 5 hours) chamios. Glad I bought 2 pairs from the start. I am just under 6′ tall and weigh about 190.

Can’t go wrong getting shorts and a chamois for $100 when most other brands charge that much for only 1 piece. Chamois is nice and light. Stiff on the first ride but breaking in well. Awesome lightweight material for the shorts.

A little longer than I would have preferred, but most bike shorts are. Zip pockets are too small for any modern phones, I haven’t had issue with it popping out of the non-zip pocket though. I’m always between a M and L on these things and went for the L because I’d prefer to not feel cramped.

It’s definitely big in the waist, the Velcro synches work well though.

I’m going to keep this short, no pun intended! Anyway, I’ve had a pair of these now for 3 seasons, and I haven’t had any of the issues that the one star reviews gave, I think they are a quality short.

None of the zippers have failed, they are easy to open and close, and I put stuff in my pockets too so I give the pockets reasonable stress and still haven’t failed. My shorts use a snap on for the waste and not a button, so not sure if the button thing that some have screamed about is a newer thing or an older thing vs my shorts, but a button can be sewn back on.

I obviously have had no issues with the stitching, the stitching still looks like it did when I got them new. I use them once a week, then wash them in handwash mode on my washing machine, the instructions say to line dry but I throw them in the dryer on the gentle cycle, except for the liner, the liner gets air dried.

Could be my body size but I found the shorts to run a tad large, which is adjustable with the side straps band thing. Not sure if the quality has slipped over the past 3 years since I bought mine in 2019, but I am completely happy with these shorts, and they’re good for at least another season and probably more.

While the padded liner that came with mine will probably need to be replaced at some time this next year or the year after, the short itself will continue to live on. A word about padded liners and how to wash them, padded liners will take on odors so you need to rid that odor when you wash them, the best way to do that is to use your regular laundry detergent and then add a cup of white vinegar to the wash, put the wash on soak mode on gentile or delicate or handwash cycle, so I wash all my liners together with nothing else in the load.

If the odor is persistent after that then do the same as above but add a cup of baking soda on top of it all.

I bought the first ZOIC mountain bike shorts in 1996. They were AWESOME. First shorts engineered for mountain biking. Durable, good fit, removable liner, position, size and angles of pockets. Elastic and Velcro waist to adjust to my changing size.

Still have Zoic sticker on my 1991 Cannondale Mt Bike. Used the originals for 25 years but this year needed larger waist. Searched the market and ZOIC is still innovator and best designed short. The new Ether has rad colors and various lengths.

Most important for me is waist is more adjustable. Fabric light, breathable, nice hand. Pocket tweaked a little but still where I love/need them. Crotch ventilated by material no zippers. Durable pocket zipper liners.

Improved fly zipper Velcro closure. Right length and width of leg to permit movement on and off the bike. COMFORTABLE & STYLISH These are the BEST made 👍.

I have 6 pairs of Ether shorts and 2 pairs of Blackmarket shorts. Love the shorts material and durability but HATE the Velcro that fails and loses its grip and HATE the zipper. To solve the Velcro problem I use a dremel tool to shave off the Velcro and replace it with a sturdier stick on velcro which solves the problem.

To solve the zipper failings that I’ve had I take it to the Asian alteration shop down the road and have them sew a new zipper on ( have done this three times). I shouldn’t have to do this to $75 shorts but I like the material and the fit.

If Zoic could solve the zipper and velcro issues they’d be the perfect shorts.

Excellent all round shorts. Comfortable and well thought out. Bombproof buckle system. Two main pockets would deserve to be a bit deeper. The thigh pocket is big enough even for the largest of phones.

The included pouch may be good for someone, I personally consider it useless as it’s not waterproof. Pricier compared to some other brands, considering it goes without chamois, but up to par with any other high-end offers.

True to size. All in all excellent product.

These will be a good short for both active and casual wear. However, the sizing is off. My husband is 5’10”, 180lbs average build and proportioned. He typically takes a medium but in these an XL is necessary for the waist.

Other than that, a nice short to own.

I’ve just worn these shorts around town and not yet on the bike. I have a trip upcoming and I am looking forward to testing them out. So far I really like them and the construction appears great. If they work well for me on my bike trip I’ll be purchasing another pair.

You can’t go wrong with Castelli.

This short is perfect for pre-post Road rides or over favourite pair of chamois liners for MTBers. Fabric has a minor stretch quality to it with a ‘dryfit’ type super-lightweight material that drys quickly, and sizing does fit a little more snug and to form.

Above the knee-length rides up to perfect length when on the bike. Excellent product!.

Great seller. This is my second order with him. Everything is fast and delivered on time. The dimensions of the bike shorts are European, even the length (XL corresponds to 50-52 European).

Awesome radio and very easy to use just like the rest and a different look to it and it fits the hand very nice and also I’ve had good audio reports with it and I would recommend others to give this radio a go.

Prior to this purchase I bought a pair of DJ Chauvet 100 IRC movable heads lights. That was very expensive. Although the Chauvets are very nice, these two little lights are very impressive at a fraction of the costs of the Chauvets.

I would rather invest more money in the smaller ones before purchasing the very expensive ones. Save your money for audio equipment and buy these smaller lights instead of the Chauvets.

These are the best quality solar dock lights that I have ever found. 7 years ago I purchased a stainless steel frame version of this light for $275. These are the same lights only with a plastic frame.

They are sturdy though. The lights are bright and stay on for about 8 hours with a charge. Excellent attractive product. Most solar lights are cheap quality andl leak.

For about $50 a piece you cant beat em. Simple to use right out of the box. I Dj small venues and with my gig bar 2 they are a great accessory. Would recommend for anyone looking

-Barely could fit a cellphone in the pocket. – size run a bit small -the loop belt is a bit long. So you’ll end up a few inches flapping on the side waist. — pro It’s a fox. -a relaxed feeling on the trail.

Durability-wise, not sure. I haven’t crashed on them yet. Got this last year from the outlet store of Fox on sale for around $40. Not sure why is it priced 2x this much today July 12 2022😂.

This is my second ranger. Much better belt design than last years version. The side adjustment works great. Length is just long enough to cover top of fox knee pads. I would have given it a five but the actual shorts are much darker than pictured.

I loved the style and color as well as the construction. Unfortunately I like the legs to be a bit more tapered with contoured openings to prevent calf rub. These are awesome if your looking for a standard baggy mountain bike short.

Flexible shorts that feel great. Throwing my leg over the bike to get on and off the seat is easy with no catching at all. They aren’t a baggy fit that catch on the seat like my other brand of shorts.

I like the zipped pocked on the left which i use for storing my bank card on those shuttle runs if needed. The waist is a little adjustable with the button clips but not a huge amount. Im usually a 32 and these fit spot on around the waist.

The stretch mesh fly seems a bit tight when needing to have a quick stop but the buttons are easy to clip back on with gloves. I was a bit unsure of the quality for the ‘entry’ level gear when looking online but im glad i brought them now and really happy with the quality and materials.

I also use a liner underneath from my other shorts and seems to fit quite well. The shorts just cover the knees pretty close to whats shown in the pictures. Wearing knee guards isnt an issue as theres plenty of flex and room for the knee guards to sit.

If im ever needing a new pair of shorts id buy these again and recommend them.

I first ordered a Medium which is my usual size (6/8) and they could zip up and technically fit, but tighter than wanted for riding. I returned and ordered a Large and had to double check that I hadn?t mistakenly been sent a Medium again.

They still hugged more than I?d like. Not sure whether to try an XL or not. I like the quality and look of them but they definitely run small.

These are my favorite. They just happen to fit me right, and I appreciate the extra pockets in the right places. not too stretchy though if you want that. These never catch on my seat and are nice and durable.

I was reading the other comments from India, UK and the Philippines and was very skeptical about this pair of shorts when I aw so many 1 and 2 star reviews. You need to remember that these are UK sizing on the website, not USA sizing, so a 38 is not going to be a 38 waist USA (a 38 UK is more like a 29-30 USA).

Anyways, I ended up buying these because the memory foam seat cover that I also bought from decathlon was starting to wear away. This shorts were amazing! I have never felt so good or had such a comfortable ride EVER in the 25 years that I have been riding.

I do not like the spandex-type shorts, especially since foam padding makes those types of shorts look very unattractive. These look like board shorts (they are long and will reach close to your knees).

The sizing was spot on. I wear 33 inch waist USA jeans, and I chose the 42 S-M size shorts. Many of the comments are totally not understanding the sizing. One comment said a 39 inch waist corresponded to a medium.

um. no it doesn’t. (a 39 inch waist is more like an XXL. ) Do not be dissuaded by the negative comments. These are stylish, comfortable, and correctly sized short. If they had more in stock online in M, I would buy more!.

Padding on these is great. Looks like a standard long length pair of running/athletic shorts which is nice. Stitching is rough though, especially on the inner lining, near the hem where the shorts end.

This is where the hem repeatedly might rub your quads up and down as you cycle so I experienced some discomfort.

I’d used Decathlon 3 x pairs bike shorts before they had orange/red padding it worked good , these purchased 3+ years ago. Do,nt seem to be stocked. in desperation I’d purchased giant shorts shockingly expensive 230rm a nice Giant panel on each side! my normal 20+ ride quite they uncomfortable.

The ordered decathlon shorts arrived this am, just done my usual 20+ ks ride no problems lots more comfortable then giant.

ION is killing it with their bike gear line. I originally started out with a set of knee pads last year, which have been great. Digging the brand, I figured I grabbed a pair of shorts. Now I’m back for a second pair in a different colorway.

These are super comfortable, durable, breathable, and have plenty of adjustability in the waistline. Looking good, feeling good. Definitely stoked on these shorts, and on ION in general. Keep crushing it.

Overall I like these shorts. The material is really light – almost on the thin side – and somewhat mesh like see through so that I wouldn?t wear black underwear under the pink shorts. But that will feel great in the summer.

Just hope the material holds up. Instead of a zipper at the fly area they have Velcro which seems good quality but again hope they hold up. Also there is thick Velcro for the waist adjust tabs which makes the short feel stiff at the hip areas if you have to cinch.

And the cinch areas stick out and look odd. But the wide Velcro also makes it comfortable riding since it?s not digging into hip area. So. all of that gets 2 out of 5.

This is my 2nd pair of Ions. What I like most is that the waste is adjustable & I don’t need a belt to keep them in place. They are just the right length not to get caught on my seat like some do. I ride 2-3 days/week and they show no signs of wearing out in the seat.

They wash & dry pretty quick.

Love the fit of these shorts, just like the pants. The size chart is spot on with what you get (so take the time to measure and understand it’s better to have clothes that fit rather than complain the sizes don’t match other brands alpha sizing).

Only thing that drops these from 5 stars is they are JUST. SO. LONG. I don’t have long upper legs and I’m just not a fan of shorts hitting knees or lower for riding. I knew they would be longer than my other brand shorts since it’s in the measurements, but still have to note it.

I can shorten them so I was fine ordering them anyway and they are worth it for sure. The material is great, feels heavy duty like the pants (those made it through a pedal strike unscathed!) but not heavy.

Nice stretch and so comfortable during the ride. I’d still definitely buy another pair!.

Great short. Love the colourways. They feel like a durable short that I hope will last a long time. They’re not breathable though. I hope the new version will have breathable holes to make up for the thick material.

Also the back pocket/zip to the back pocket needs to be slightly larger to fit a standard mobile phone. My phone is a small version and I can just get it in, but I feel the zip restricts it too much and will eventually fail due to this.

They’re a good length (could be an inch shorter in my opinion) and true to size which is hard with women’s mtb shorts. I’m a size 6 and the XS fits me well. I will buy again when they’re next on sale as the sale price is great for what they are.
