20 Best Mountain Bike Shoes For Wide Feet (2023 Updated)

This is my first brand new pair of cycling shoes. Up until now I have been riding on slightly used pairs to get an idea as to which one I would prefer. I’ve tried ones with the velcro straps, the ratchet strap and I have to say the BOA lacing system is my favourite so far.

Easy to adjust and fast to take off. It took about 60 Kms to break in the shoe. Everything about it felt great except there was a slight rub on the inside of my left ankle. It made me realize that I was pointing my left toe upwards when I peddaled, which caused the rub.

Straightening out my foot solved the mystery. Now after several rides the shoe feels amazing. Good amount of room in the toe box. The shoe looks great and I am very happy with my purchase.

I have very average feet. I have worn Shimano and Specialized shoes with no issues and not requiring wide fitting sizes. This shoe has nice construction and a fun style. The volume control is nice, but the footbed is so narrow it causes foot numbness for me.

Unfortunately I installed cleats and I am unable to return the shoe. I also couldn’t have found this issue without a ride, I walked around in the shoe for an hour on carped before mounting the cleats and didn’t discover the issue.

3 stars for the shoe quality and looks, lost 2 stars for strange fit and poor return/exchange policy.

Absolutely love these shoes and they can’t be beat for the price. These arrived in the middle of the week and I did a few short rides to make sure the cleats were in the right spot and then took off for 50+ miles on Saturday.

Can easily be ridden with or without socks. Nice and snug around the mid foot, yet spacious at the toes. Sizing is dead on the chart and my size 12 sneaker fits perfectly in the 46s. These are stiffer than my previous Specialized mountain bike shoes but not quite as stiff as a carbon road shoe.

Should make for an amazing summer of gravel roads in the near by national forest.

Comfortable boots that protect against most rain and cold just as advertised. They are quite breathable as well, though after 3-4hrs, some very light moisture does accumulate which can lead to some coldness on really really cold days (or off-road in the snow).

For offroad and gravel adventures I found these so much better than overshoes, especially if any hike-a-bike is required. These are my first pair of Fizik shoes as I normally wear Sidl but I found these to size the same as Sidl – my normal shoe size is 43 (UK9) but I always take a 44 and that was the perfect size in these (allowing for a thicker sock as well).

Getting them on does take a little bit of fumbling and adjusting the first few times, but gets easier and quick with practice. I have only used them on 7 or 8 rides so far, mostly gravel and they have been comfortable from the start though they are getting a little more comfortable with ‘breaking in’.

They have been brilliant keeping light road spray and slush out and even staying warm and dry walking through snow! I have not tried them in a downpour yet and suspect some water would eventually get in via the cuff over a long wet ride.

The sole seems hard wearing as well, with good grip walking over rocks and gravel while not then appearing all mashed and worn. Decent grip and not too slippy when walking on smooth polished floors (e.

g. shops). Overall I really rate these.

Based on sizing guide and reviews, I initially bought a 46 but then tried a 46. 5. Both are listed as larger than a US12, which is my normal size. 46 usually works for me in cycling shoes. I am not convinced that the 46.

5 was actually any bigger than the 46. Both have plenty of length but are too narrow. In spite of the extra length, my heel rubs uncomfortably in the right shoe. I do suspect that I have weird feet, since it is difficult to find shoes that fit well.

But I think this will fit best on narrow feet. I haven’t gone so far as installing cleats and riding outside since I suspect these will be going back. On one shoe, the zipper came apart (below the slider) the first time I went to take them off.

It took about 10 minutes to get the zipper slider down and get the shoe off. Once I got it all the way down the teeth engaged again and it has worked fine since, but I’m concerned about future issues.

Not having ridden in real conditions, I can’t really comment on that, but they do not make my feet too warm to wear in the house with winter wool socks. I fear they wouldn’t be as warm as advertised.

Writing this review helped me decide to return them and go a different direction.

I wear a 12 shoe in most brands so the 46/12 is correct but if you wear heavy socks the toe box length might be too snug. I have the 46. 5/12 1/2 due to fat biking winter use. The boot is narrow but seems flexible enough to stretch.

The zipper is a bit tricky to point your toe down to align the teeth. Warmth? We will see. Waterproof? We will see. I had worn out my Lakes and couldn’t find a big enough size in LG Klondike. 45NRTHs are too bulky for spring/fall use but I wanted more enduro/light boot for all 3 seasons and will go full pack boot on MTB flat pedals when temps really drop.

I have had these shoes for 6 weeks now doing 2 or 3 long rides a week through a wet Lakeland autumn so they have had a good testing and have impressed. My last pair of shoes (Specialised BG Comp) were great and lasted over 10 years of hard use before failure and these Shimano shoes look good for many years too, certainly better than anything else I looked at.

The Michelin sole gives a very good level of grip either for quick foot dabs or those sections of trail that just aren’t rideable, the grip on wet rock is excellent and pretty good on wet grass & mud.

The uppers not having mesh sections are fairly water resistant, the cuff around the heel combines with the tongue to keep out rock gravel but once wet the shoe is slow to dry out but the lack of mesh means less water gets in unless you ride/walk through a river or it is just a proper wet Lake District day.

The shoe feels robust but not heavy. Good stiffness for power transfer to the pedals but fine to walk fair distances in. The removable insole is substantial, looks likely to last the life of the shoe and supports my high arches well and helps hold my narrow heels in place.

One of my feet is substantially smaller and narrower than the other and the speed lace and ratchet strap work well to provide a decent fit. For me these shoes have been one of those rare shoe purposes that feel spot on.

No shoe is perfect. And when I boughty first pair of these last year I removed to lace cover and gaiter just to improve the ventilation. But after a year on them and trying other things in similar style, I can say these outshine the competition by far.

First and foremost the cleat mounts directly to the shoe and doesn’t have that weird recess channel like everyone else is doing. Gives you a low stack, no need to shim anything and a very good pedal feel.

Second the cleat placement is centered unlike others that seem to move it inboard and give you make you feel like you’re standing on the outside of your pedals. This year Shimano didn’t do half sizes and I was disappointed but with the right insoles the 46 works well for me (previously had a 45.

5, 11-11. 5 street shoe). If you use a flatter or the stock insoles your feet spread out more in the shoe. A more arched insole and you can fit a little smaller shoe. I’ve ridden the previous version everywhere from DH park to Moab.

They are incredibly durable and the soles look great after a year. But the thing I like most is the balance between flexibility and stiffness. They pedal excellent but give you some flexibility to twist your feet during bike control.

They don’t have that dead stiff feel. just right. These new ones have a little better ventilation. And while I thought I’d want a boa, I have broken a boa on the trail. Something that won’t happen with these.

My extremities run cold normally – hands and feet – which has always had a negative impact on my ability to enjoy winter sports in CO. I would still partake, but I would be miserable half the time because of the cold.

These Lake shoes have changed that to a level I never thought possible. Yes, I still wear two pairs of socks, but my feet now stay warm the entire time I ride. Rode for 3 hours the other night in 20 degree temps and my feet could’ve gone another 3 hours if my legs weren’t dead.

If you struggle with cold feet and need a solution, I highly recommend these bad boys. They are comfortable, warm & dry, easy to get on/off, and the Boa system allows me to tighten/loosen them for a perfect fit.

Definitely order one size up so you can wear thick socks and still move your toes around.

Rode in F 33/34° snowy weather. Snow melted and roads were wet. Shoe started soaking through about 20 minutes and feet wet after an hour. The tongue is NOT gusseted; ONLY attached/sewn at base. Water leaked through under flap, around the tongue.

Deeply disappointed- have no idea why tongue would not be gusseted. Boots soaked through on a second ride with snow and wet roads at 30 ° F. Had bibs OVER boot top to keep water from running down legs into boots.

Warm in 27° F and dry conditions. Have ordered another pair of boots for cold AND wet conditions.

These were purchased as a comparison in fit in quality to some pricey MTB shoes made with carbon. The difference in not having a BOA fit system, at least initially, does not inconvenience me in fitting the pair.

As long as the velcro straps do not slip, which is possible over time, the fit is great. The sizing was exact in my needs and compared well with the expensive pair. The cleats are Crank Brothers zero float with a single shim.

This setup proved great for me as walking to and from the bike did not drag the cleat and when I clipped in, I forget I’m using them. The comfort at the end of the ride was still there. When I want a replacement pair of MTB shoes, I will probably look at these again and definitely at what Shimano is offering as the experience was positive using these.

My shoes are usually between size 41 and 42 depending on which models. According to the recommended size, I should go one size bigger but I went for 41 and it was worth it. Comfortable, great looks, and reasonably spacious toe box.

Was looking for a lighter more summery clipless shoe. Considered the AM5 but AM7 seemed the best compromise for features. I like the neprene cuff to keep the stones out and the laces keeper both of which the AM5 does not have.

Compared to my previous Shimano shoes these come up closer to normal shoe size. I went 1euro size up and with thin socks I think I could possibly have chosen usual shoe size.

got this for my wife because she does not like to use cleats, we ride Saturday and sunday every week and these held great for 2 years. if the current pair have not ripped with a pedal they will still be inuse and with very little wear.

i like the front cover on top of the toes to prevent with rocks or thorns which we have lots here in the desert.

Very good and comfortable MTB shoes. little bit heavy company to my previous Northwave MTB shoes. Right comment from other you need to take one size bigger from your normal size. Very good delivery time.

Brilliant all round shoes, ideal for spring, summer and autumn, that look as good for the post ride pub stop as they are functional for riding. The mid-height ankle protection to the bike side Is a nice touch.

The sole is solid for riding, grippy on all surfaces and wide enough to give great stability on loose ground when off the bike. The boa lace system gives accurate tension for consistent fit, and is particularly easy for releasing to take the shoes off when numb and wet fingers would struggle with conventional laces.

The only criticism is the slightly 1980’s Velcro strap closure is not up to the quality of the rest of these excellent shoes. Sizing is accurate to 43.

Great service prompt postage and really comfortable shoes. Good fit and a solid sole. I use these with magnetic pedals on my E-mtb and they just feel good whenever I ride. Highly recommended and well priced.

This is my second pair of Pearl Izumi shoes and love these as much as my first. They do seem to run slightly smaller as I purchased same size as last time but they seem a little snugger, maybe just because they are new.

Great for spin class I would highly recommend. Plus they were delivered fast at a great price point.

This is a very nice shoe — well built, and looks good. The sizing is pretty small — had to send it back for a bigger size, but Cambria bike was great in dealing with that. Buy one size bigger than you would normally and you’ll likely be a very happy rider! :).

These shoes are superb. They have a ‘normal’ fit, i. e. they match my fashion-shoe size. I wear a 37 in non-outdoor shoes and have to size-up for outdoor, but the 36 fits perfrctly with enough room for warmer socks if required.

They’re grippy on my pedals, are firm, but not stiff like some other brands. I use these for all trails and I’m delighted with them and would recommend.

Received these 1 day after ordering! When I pulled the shoes out of the box I first uttered “you’ve got to be kidding me!”. They looked so small compared to the shoes to which I’m accustomed! In order to ride in wool socks, I actually had to remove the sock liner/insole and insert a much thinner insole.

I still felt these being too tight which was surprising considering one of the reviews I had read online mentioned the spaciousness. As such, by the end of my 16 mile ride, my right foot was hurting.

I normally wear an 8 wide (usually EE) sneaker, and based on experience with “D” width athletic wear, ordered these in a 8 1/2. They seemed closer to a 7 1/2 or maybe “7 3/4”. On the other hand I found the light weight, grip, feel of pedals, and stiffness to be superb.

I had until recently, Five Ten Freeriders. While the Flatlines don’t quite have the same grip, they’re very close! I really love them. If you have narrow to medium width feet, they should be great in 1/2-1 size larger than your usual.

So after speaking and e-mailing Trek/Bontrager customer service, who are wonderful, and confirming that the next size up would only be 1/8″ longer, I actually sent back the 8 1/2 and ordered 9 1/2(!).

Once the replacement pair arrive I’ll issue an updated review.

First off I will say these are the most uncomfortable shoes until you hit the 100 mile mark. There are all kinds of pressure points, but they eventually break in and feel great. I live in the PNW so I ride in a lot of rain and my feet are always dry.

Also, these do a good job of not heating up when it is warm out. For sizing, my running shoes (Altras) are US mens 11 which gives me a thumbs width of space off the big toe. For this shoe, I ordered a 45.

5 which equates to a US mens 11. 75 and that gives me the same thumbs width off the big toe. I would recommend getting a 1/2 to 3/4 size up from your running shoes. These do run small. When you are clipped in, the shoe stay in place.

The boa dial is nice to keep your laces down and your heel in the shoe. I also like that you can walk around in these shoes without slipping on the cleat. I mainly ride gravel and mountain bikes with these shoes.

I’m old, 70. I kinda smashed my feet up, along with bilateral tibia plateau fracture and 13 screws and rod in tibia because of a car wreck 15 years ago. Several years later, went down kinda fast on a dirt trail fully clipped in.

Switched to Diety flats on MTB and road bike and low top hiking shoes. 10 years on, foot pain became a little unbearable after 30 miles. Got some Rime 2. 0 and Deore XT spd pedals and went from painful to uncomfortable.

For me, an unquestionable and quantifiable improvement. MTB gear for a road bike? It better distributes the weight of foot bed, so why not? Just hope i don’t go down fully clipped in again, thinking you’re on flats and not spd is a hard habit to break when stopping the bike.

Found these to fit true to sizing. They have been a bit uncomfortable in the first 5 hours of rides; the inside corner of the tongue lines up directly under the top eyelet (on my feet) causing a pressure point.

This is even with trying to slightly more the tongue around. Starting to feel better. Otherwise comfortable shoes love the tread on the bottom for the occasional bike-hike. Have not tested the wet weather riding yet.

Don’t love the laces and dial system together. Dial gets in the way of tying the laces but that is being picky and not enough of a reason to drop the rating in my view. j.

Fantastic shoe, just needs Lots of trial and error to dial in the fit Not as good as the previous model 901 IMO which i purchased here and tried this model out through Mantel. My 2nd phalange joint, 2 toe, rubs on the stiffer material, where a front Velcro strap would be but the shape now gives more support so your toes aren’t flapping upwards.

Not a problem i have with SIdi, Fizik or spezialized but a result of the flat Dynalast. An already snug fit in the mid sole width of 901 is now tighter, and the heel is super grippy but i think that would be a gewöhnheits thing.

Mantel’s guide is a good start for fitting size. they tend to give about 3or 4 mm extra as what you need so the shimano tend to be a a half size shorter than specialized, or FZIK so a 47 in spezialized would be 47.

5 in S-Phyre. I take SIdi 48 (2010 model)and these S-phyres have more room in size 48 in toe box. i can fit a 47 in Specialized or R1 FIzik (JUST) Dynalast: Jeez are they flat!!! what that means however is a better peddling action getting over top dead center.

however the bigtoe does tend to work more, and be prepared for a lot of trial and error with the Insole, which with the 2 height inserts are significantly better than FIZIK or Spezialized. I ended up adding a little to the toe are of the Insole to give a little bit more curve, punched holes for breathing, and fashioned a proper metatarsal button, and used specialized Vagus wedges ( Orange) to increase the supination.

As I said they are the flattest but the power transer is really very good. be also prepared for calf pains ( went away) and hotspots till you get a decent button fitted. They are a bit ‘Road Buzzy’ but moving the cleats back and forth did help and sanding the Insole underneath my right Big toe (like with Solestar)reduced the Buzz a tad more that i was feeling there.

Great shoe, but give time for dialing in, hense 4 stars. Hope that helps you in your decision making!.

I was never fortunate enough to experience the previous model of the S-Phyre’s so I can’t comment on the differences between the two. However, having spent time and money on a couple of other cheaper models, inc.

the Shimano RC5’s whilst trying to find a decent pair of shoes, I have no qualms about stating that you get what you pay for here. Before purchasing these, I used and still do use, a pair of Giro Empire lace ups, which are very comfortable.

But, I wanted something to use on the road and regularly on the turbo, and not have to spend time doing up and undoing the laces, plus have something that I can tweak whilst on the bike should the pressure build up or the shoe feel loose.

I guess I have ‘normal width’ feet as these feel ok to me, e. g. my feet don’t feel squashed at the sides (for info, my feet are approx. 10cm edge to edge at their widest and 27. 5 – 28cm length). I’m normally a size 9 (eu43) in a trainer or normal shoe, and ordered a size eu44 for this road shoe.

It fits just fine, with enough wriggle room. The fact that it has two BOA dials that can be tightened or loosened without having to start from scratch, allows for that fine tuning once you’ve been riding for 20 mins or so and your feet begin to react with the heat/cold/pressure etc.

Unlike the RC5, they’re easy to get on and off. They come with an additional arch support for those with a deeper arch, and also a bag to keep them as they should be. I didn’t get on with the RC5’s. As a few others stated in reviews, the single top BOA dial didn’t allow for that tuning, and I got pressure points across the top of my foot.

The S-Phyre’s also have the option for replaceable heels, the RC5’s were moulded as one. Would I normally spend £300+ on a pair of road shoes? No. Did I feel like I needed to, to get what I wanted? Yes.

Do I have any complaints about doing so with these? Nope. Would recommend.

I’ve wider than average feet and these fit really well – I ordered a couple of pairs from Sigma to try get the right size. I found they matched up pretty perfect with my normal size but I am just between UK sizes which makes buying cycle shoes online a nightmare but chats with Sigma online guides me away from Some shoes and recommended others.

These shoes are amazing – dual BOAS make adjustments easy although I found initially I’d tighten the front one too much at times causing a bit of pins and needles as my feet warmed up! But the reverse adjustment without undoing the boas makes this easy.

Temperature wise – warm weather riding no issues with good ventilation a ride in 11 deg recently I found my feet getting a little cold but not uncomfortable – will be interesting to see how they fair in winter? The grippy fabric in the heal makes good contact with the sock and helps with any heal lift when walking.

The colour (blue) is amazing! The only gripe I have is the burrito style wrap over upper, I’ve either huge feet or it’s not quite wide enough so when tightened I’ve a small gap just below the upper boa – I’m actually going to get a small piece of neoprene to try cover this in colder days! Walking in these is fine – very stiff sole though so be aware if you’re a Walker/pusher/runner.

Been wearing more XC oriented Mavic shoes for a while and wore them out. Wanted something a bit more robust for more enduro/dh type riding and these are great. Light weight and comfortable. One of the only shoes I found for my long narrow feet that don’t have a load of heel lift so they’re good for a bit of hike-a-bike.

Nice deep heel cup. I did have to size up. I’m 11 in normal shoes and trainers but a 46 was way too tight on the toes. 47 is perfect. Boa is so easy and secure. Can’t go back to laces. No complaints so far.

This is my first pair of Specialized mtn bike shoes. Owning them now makes me wish I would have started with Specialized shoes ten years ago. Instead I’ve dumped money into a variety of other brands that I’ve always found to be lacking.

I wear a size 13 (48 euro) in standard width, but I guess I have odd feet because every pair of mtn shoes I have ever owned, I’ve had to tighten super tight. Otherwise my feet move around inside. I’ve tried lace-ups, velcro straps, velcro straps with ratchet, and lastly Boa.

I could never get any tight enough to keep my feet from slipping around in the shoe. This particular shoe must run narrow because I no longer have the slippage problem. True to description, the shoe is easy to walk in, but has a perfectly stiff sole for power delivery.

The lace saver works a treat and the outer is sturdy and protective. I will be buying again, though I don’t anticipate needing to for some time. Kudos to Erik’s for stellar pricing, service and prompt delivery! #sweepstakes.

Out of the box I really liked this shoe. I have a size 12 wide food and the fit was great. The BOA system is designed really well unlike other shoes. After a couple of months of use though, the underside started to peel away (on both shoes).

Super odd. I brought them back to CC Pure and the staff were great – they offered me a full refund. They brought in a Giro Rincon from the Bow Trail location for me – greatly appreciated. Only three rides on this new shoe.

Bottom line, both me and the staff were surprised by the Bontrager Foray’s premature wear and failure. I had a picture but I deleted it. Based on the experience of others, I’d still recommend this shoe to others and I chalk up this experience to bad luck.

And while I would have purchased another pair of Forays, none were in stock, thus the Giro Rincon purchase. I really appreciate the team’s commitment to customer care. Thank you.

I bought these and also the Shimano MT7, and ended up keeping these. The key was the velcro at the bottom which ensured the shoe didn’t get too tight across my toes. The size and fit was the same in both shoes.

I’m hoping they last as long as my last pair of cycling shoes. about 11 years, ridden with both a road bike and a road tandem. They’re just about the same walking as any pair of mountain bike shoes I’ve had.

I have a wide foot (for a woman) across the toe/ball and so buy mens shoes.

These shoes were fine in terms of foot length but even with my narrow feet my toes were too compressed from the small toe side, the toe box didn’t suit me, so had to return them. I would have preferred as well that the tongue was splitting in the middle rather than on both sides, that was slightly annoying as pressing on ankle.

I can’t comment for in use performance and stiffness. But other than that the shoes were well made, good reinforcement all around to protect shoe and foot, walking in them was fine, and they did look great in grey, shame they didn’t fit me.

Wouldn’t pay full price for them though, more expensive than equivalent model from other brands.

I’ve been using the Ragnarok boots for a few weeks now (> 100 miles) and overall I’m really satisfied with how they’ve performed. I’ve been wearing these boots for Fall and Winter temps and weather, mostly the upper 30’s (F) to mid/upper teens (15-18 F), in light rain, snow, and heavy wind with both.

So far, they’ve held up great and look just as new as the first day I wore them. I normally wear a men’s US size 11 and opted for the size 46 which fits great with room for thicker socks. The shoes don’t glide on super easy because of the narrow opening, but getting them on isn’t a challenge.

The BOA system works well and makes for fast adjustments when needed. Even though these shoes are only rated down to 25F, I’ve worn them multiple times in colder temps (with Darn Tough wool socks) and my feet stayed plenty warm while fat biking.

Cold comfort is of course subjective, so keep in mind these shoes aren’t intended for bitter cold and 45NRTH has other heavier insulated cycling boot options for those situations. For me, wearing medium to heavy wool socks easily keeps my feet and toes warm below 20F with these boots, but I’m using them primarily for fat biking where I’m almost always pedaling and working up a constant sweat.

I personally would not wear these boots in temps much colder than 15F, and definitely not in single digits. On the upper temp. range, these boots are too warm for me if the temps are above 45F – my feet sweat constantly, even with light wool socks.

The downside: As others have mentioned, the neoprene cuff is not waterproof, so, if you don’t wear long waterproof pants or use waterproof gaiters, especially in a down pour, water can work its way into the shoe and soak your feet.

A functional improvement by 45NRTH would be to include a gaiter hook or loop since there’s no attachment point and you don’t want to risk damaging the BOA laces. I’ve been using a pair of Black Diamond Gore Tex gaiters and just put a piece of tape over the hook (so they don’t scratch/damage the shoes) and they’ve worked okay for when I want complete waterproof protection from the elements while riding.

I’ve stepped in a few small puddles (with the water below the neoprene cuffs) and I’ve had many splashes from riding in rain/snow and the shoes have not wetted out and my feet have stayed 100% dry. Walking around off the bike in these boots is easy and the cleats are recessed enough to where there hasn’t been much of any noise when walking on concrete or asphalt near trail heads.

Overall, I’ve been really satisfied with these shoes for Fall/Winter fat biking. Prior to purchasing these boots, I wore Asolo waterproof winter hiking boots (with a waterproof gaiter) using flat pedals while fat biking and these shoes are so much more comfortable, obviously lighter, and more efficient for pedaling (and, my knees don’t ache as much after long rides!).

I ride year round, and definitely get *very* cold toes in winter wearing normal bike shoes. I find having to put shoe covers on annoying and time consuming, so I looked to these as an alternative. I have to say that I love them after just a few rides.

The fit is comfortable, though they probably run just a little small. I wear a 41 Shimano, and a 42 for the Ragnarok. This does allow me to wear slightly thicker socks if necessary, so it’s not really a huge problem.

The Boa laces tighten up nicely and hold everything in place without ever feeling too tight. My feet are definitely warmer on cold rides (no tingly toes at the end as circulation returns!), but I was pleasantly surprised to find that these are also just great bike shoes – a solid, rigid sole gives good power transfer through the cleats to the pedals and you still feel very connected to your bike.

These may just become my year-round shoes except on the very warmest of days!.

These were purchased to replace my old Shimano winter shoes that were ready for the trash can. The fit is great and I like the yellow trim for a bit of extra viz when riding in the early mornings. I live in the PACNW (Seattle area) so I don’t ride in realllllly cold weather – if it does get below freezing, I tend to find another means of transportation.

For my needs, they are sufficient and can keep my feet warm until maybe 1. 5-2 hours into a ride that might be in the mid 30’s (Fahrenheit). If it’s wet but not raining much, my feet stay mostly dry.

If it’s pouring rain, the neoprene cuff soaks through and my sock will get soaked after 1-1. 5 hr. For what this shoe was designed for, it works well and is really comfy. The sole is also sufficiently stiff.

I sized up one full size from my Lake road shoes and I can comfortably wear my Woolie Bollie (sp?) socks. If you want a shoe you can wear in a downpour for more than a short ride, I’d look at one of their boots that is designed for this.
