20 Best Motherboard For Intel Core I7 10700K (2023 Updated)

forgive me i’m not the best writer. but i wanted to make sure I shared this for those who do not know. this reflects 3 different motherboard brands. Yes z590 is bleeding edge but when you get the black screen with dram light on, just let it sit for a minute.

the motherboard will power off. After about 30 seconds or so, maybe a minute, the motherboard will then automatically start up again. this time, after about a minute it starts going through a hardware check while still showing a black screen.

soon your dram light will turn off, and it will switch to boot. Finally your screen stating no boot sector. now you can go into bios and configure it. I’ve called Asus tech support, Asrock tech support and gigabyte tech support.

None of them asked me if i waited long enough for the motherboard to power down then back up again to do a self check of existing hardware. No one at micro center knew of this either. they all stated i had a bad motherboard, bad memory, bad processor.

I replaced the motherboard 3 times with the above brands, i’ve replaced the cpu and bought new memory before finding out that these new z590 motherboards require you to let it set powered on for it to eventually starts self diagnosing itself.

I wish it would display something on the screen stating please wait or something verses sitting there acting as though it’s DOA. Lesson learned.

Now that I have had the board for a while I wanted to give a more detailed review. CPU: 10600K cooler with Noctua NH-D15S RAM: G. SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 GPU: Sapphire RX 5700 XT SSD: Crucial P5 2TB 3D NAND NVMe PSU: Corsair 1000 RMx Booted up on first attempt (Always pleasantly surprised when that happens).

Applied the XMP profile running at 3200 MHZ. Installed Windows 10 and installed drivers. I had predownloaded all of the drivers prior so had them ready to go. Only took about 1 hour from first boot to last of the drivers installed.

Have had 0 issues and system is running great. Seems to be a very solid MB. I haven’t tried messing with any of the RGB lighting, that’s just not my thing. I’ve preordered the 11700K and will update review when that arrives.

Hoping all goes as smoothly with the 11th gen as it has with the 10th gen.

Intermittent boot failures with no predictability. Will do nothing and restart 10x with 10 boot failures in a row. Change nothing and have no boot failures for a week. “boot failure” results in CPU running hot in BIOS.

AIO is seated properly as the very next boot will run nominally with NO changes done whatsoever. This is immediately after resetting the CMOS. No overclocking, optimized defaults with no drives or GPUs plugged in.

I worked days setting up my custom water loop, 4 NVMe drives (all listed on the motherboards compatibility list) and just cannot get this board to run right. Tech support was unable to get the issue fixed but I figured it out so could boot into Windows but will not reset into the boot drive and always crashed back into the BIOS (which is also updated to latest version).

I have UEFI set up correctly as well and went through the whole troubleshooting process – reset to default, reset the CMOS etc. I eventually got Windows 11 installed, ran benchmarks and my CPU idles between 30-35 and on the stress, it only went to 45-50 so cooling on the board is good on my CPU water block.

The chipset itself, sits around 70 degrees Celsius in my Lian Li Dynamic 11 which I think is a little warm but the new chipset might just run hot. I ran Cyberpunk and it crashed. Also with COD Vanguard.

Ran 3dmark okay and Battlefield 5, so I am not sure if that might be Windows 11. I am also running Lian Li SL120’s and they will not sync with the Armory crate so I cannot control fan speed curves, only sync the lighting.

So sometimes it sounds like a plane taking off all of the sudden with 9 fans spinning 100%rpm for no reason. The board always overclocks my processor. It just keeps wanting to squeeze more out of it and their methods of turning off their A.

I. overclock are a little confusing because you have to tell it to “stop learning” Pushed my P- Cores to 5400MHz LOL so at least I know not that I got a good CPU. I didnt turn on overclocking and do not want to play with overclocking yet until I have programs installed and then I can start playing with those settings because the P and E core overclocking is new for me.

Regardless, this should run like a Cadillac out of the box, I have built many PC’s, using ASUS mobo’s and this has been this has most difficult and frustrating build I have encountered thus far. For the price I paid, the continuous troubleshooting to even get it running out of the box, I cannot recommend this to my fellow PC gamers and building enthusiast.

No Doubt, It is the prettiest looking boards on the market for Z690’s white case builds but sometimes looks are not everything.

Since Ive gotten this motherboard it has been nothing but problems. I bought it to use thinking it was the latest and greatest from asus but since Ive had it, its been nothing but problems. The included fan controller is complete trash, it wont let me do anything with the fans or detect the fans half the time.

The aura lighting software is so buggy it causes my computer to crash half the time I try to set a solid color. I decided to remove all of asus software from my computer and now it seems stable but I cannot control the fans because the controller is controlled thru armory crate and Im stuck on rainbow puke.

My old Msi motherboard ram my gskill trident z5 6000mhz c36 ram perfectly with xmp but this 1100 motherboard cant even boot into windows half the time with xmp selected. Sorry for the rant but you should probably avoid this motherboard at all cost.

I am so disappointed with this motherboard.

Got two of these, one to build a machine for my gf, and one a couple of days later to build for me. Hers went together smooth. HORRIBLE driver support out of the box. Comes with a CDROM for drivers. In the 2020’s? Seriously? Why bother? Her case does not even support a DVD style drive.

Include a USB or just put a scan code and link right on the box so you can make a usb before starting. LAN driver did not work out of the box on either machine so I had to go to the ASUS site and download the LAN package on a dif machine and put it on a USB.

Once done I was able to get it online to slowly correct the other 12 devices in Device Manager with issues or not installed. Hers runs flawlessly. I7-11700K with 64GB Ripjaw ram. Smooth. So I decided to try for myself.

Got the board and from the very first power up, issues started creeping up. Slow post. Did not recognize the factory fresh Samsung 980Pro 1TB SSD. Then continued with each other drive I added (a 4TB Seagate platter, and moved a Samsung 970 SSD from my ‘previous build’ (The one I am using to write the review btw) Multiple reboots just to recognize hardware.

3 windows installs 3!!!!! I install 3DMark to test everything. Good run. Install new EVGA 3080ti XC3 Ultra. Wow. Amazing scores! Within the top 91% of all reported scores on the site. I was smiling. Leave it running to go get something to eat.

Reboot after eating to start playing something fresh on the new GPU. Dead. Fans work. GPU powers. No post. Remove GPU. No post. Removed SSD’s No post. Cleared CMOS on board. No post. Removed the CMOS battery to make sure it cleared.

No Post. Took out RAM sticks. Re-cleared CMOS. No post. Unplugged all usb case cables etc. The only thing in the case is power supply. Motherboard and CPU/Cooler. Powers on and fan spin. No Post. Every component I removed works in other machines.

3 Monitors. All functional on other devices. No Post. Two days of false starts over 16 hours fighting it. No post. I am fed up. It is being returned. wait. It was ‘free’ with the processor. No wonder.

Horrible motherboard and I have used ASUS on every machine I have built since the early 2000’s (roughly 25 or so total) and never once had an experience like this. Livid does not begin to cover it. TLDR Fought it repeatedly to get windows 10 installed without errors.

Run a few benchmarks after drivers and windows updates. NO POST. Nothing! and why does it not have even a single LED to indicate board power? How stupid.

Upgrading my wife’s system from circa 2012, we run Linux so bloatware doesn’t force us to upgrade so often. Recycled the case and power supply (which had been replaced after a failure last year so it had all the “new” connectors), and the old GTX 970 is still plenty good enough for a 4K desktop since we are not gamers.

Upgraded to an i5-11400 and from 16 GB of DDR3 to 32 GB of DDR4 and its nice to know I can bump it up to 64 GB if necessary in a few years. A 1TB NVME drive completed the upgrade. Best thing was with this new system and the open source Kdenlive video editor we could simply plug in my wife’s Android phone and edit its 4K video to something good enough quality and small enough to Email.

My wife is thrilled with the update and the audio quality is significantly better than her previous system was. Only quirk was BIOS doesn’t recognize an LG 4K UHD TV as a monitor so I had to haul in an old 1080p monitor to do the initial BIOS setup.

But overall, best $450 I’ve ever spent on an upgrade! Micro Center prices were great $150 for the CPU, $100 for the DDR4, $100 for this ASUS H570M-PLUS/CSM Prime Intel LGA 1200 MB, and $100 for the NVME.

Unequivocally recommend this for a non-power-user.

If you plan to use this motherboard for anything other than Windows, then forget it. The board itself is cheaply made and the quality of its build is very poor. You can see cold soldring shots all over the board.

Worst, it is not compatable with Operating Systems other than Windows. It took me a whole day to understand why it will not boot from a bootable Linux on USB. After a whole day of search, I found out that you need to install a legacy Graphics card in order for the board to be compatable with operating systems other than Windows.

What a nightmare of failure in design and engineering. Why would I need to install a dedicated Graphics card to make the board compatable with other operating systems. The board has a built-in HDMI and I was using a CPU with built-in GPU.

This is just a wast of money and highly recommend that you look at other boards from MSI or Gigabyte. I am very disappointed at ASUS for this failure board. Read about it on the internet to hear all kind of non sense tricks that you need to do to make this bord work.

The motherboard was shipped to me working and after a short time, my GPU wasn’t being detected and I had to rely on the integrated graphics of my 10850k. Eventually figuring out it was the PCI-e controller, resetting the CMOS helped for a boot or two before the failure came again and stayed.

Sent motherboard to Newegg and was denied due to ‘bent pins’ on the CPU socket. 2 weeks after sending it out, I got it back, looked at it and saw there was a pin broken on the socket. Put it back together and tested with it still booting and exhibiting the same issue.

I contacted ASUS and the normal lines of troubleshooting were gone through before I was told to send it. Not knowing how the pin broke, and reading ASUS’s information online, I was expecting to have to pay a fee to have the boards socket replaced, but after seeing the part on the way, it was received about 7:30 pm a few days later and a replacement was on the way the following day.

This is the 2nd time in 16 years I’ve ever had an issue with an ASUS board (that wasn’t caused by a powersupply deciding to ground out internally) and the 2nd time I was floored with ASUS’s response and care for the customer.

From a BIOS chip sent to my address to replace my bad one in 2006 to the replacement for a bad CPU socket, ASUS really does have fantastic customer service, even to the point of contacting me ‘too much’ through the process to make sure I was kept up to date on how things were going.

Less the PCI-e controller being bad, the replacement board is the same as the previous with G. Skill 4400 cl16 sticks not being able to achieve their full speed, but that’s on me for not reading from G.

Skill on what they can do with the board. 4000cl15 is achievable though!.

This came free with the purchase of an 11700K week after labor day, 2022. Tons of features and overclocking options. Updating the BIOS and setting XMP and a 5GHz all core OC was painless and fast. Make sure when downloading drivers, in order to get the actual Chipset driver, you need to expand the available downloads.

Otherwise you’ll have about 4-5 “Unknown Devices” show up in Device Manager. Probably wouldn’t have had that issue if I used the included driver disc, but I didn’t have a drive to load them. Only Con I have is that the 24-Pin ATX power connector wasn’t an easy 90 degree connector.

Dig the basic ARGB profile, which is what is driving my AIO fans, case, and GPU lighting.

My first choice was the Gigabyte Z590 Ultra Wifi mobo, Best Buy did not have it in stock at the store, so I picked the Asus Z590 Tuf Plus Gaming wifi, there is, however a cheaper version, minus the Wifi… I installed this without any problem… except that you have to update your bios immediately (in my case) because I was using my old ssd with the windows 10 installed and my app programs to avoid any complications, I was upgrading from the Z390 chipset.

Everything is running smoothly so far, I have a minor complain, Asus use to provide the q connector with their old motherboard but for some reason they did not include one with this model, not a big deal but it would simplify front panel connection very much.

Oh, it does not have a Q led for post diagnostic, so you have to rely on beep and just cross your fingers. Anyways, if you are an overclocking gamer then this is recommended, I am not, so I disabled the Enchanced Performance, it saves power and the cpu remained much cooler.

Also if you do not like the led always on. you have to turn off the Aura in the bios or in the ARMOURY Crate… otherwise it might bug you if your pc is in your bedroom and while you are sleeping your PC will be bright.

Anyways, I am content with it, until the 12th gen motherboard comes out this year.

Needed a motherboard with the following to attach to an 8 port KVM switch: VGA port, 2 PS2, or 1 PS2 and a com port. Needed an upgrade to run a new video program and fully use the security features of Windows 11.

Was surprised at the fast boot time of this build. Was paired with 32G of RAM and a 12th gen, CPU. One drawback is the on board graphics driver does not allow for custom resolutions on the VGA port. The other monitor connected on the HDMI will do that.

Google showed custom resolution for the vga was taken out in the latest release. The 2nd gen. MB it replaced had 6 SATA ports but this one only had 4. Appears all B660 boards only have 4. Added a 2 port add-in card, problem solved.

Not a high end build. Does what I wanted it to do. Placed in a 20 year old case with 600W power supply. I like my cases to match.

I saw another reviewer mention there was no manual included in the box. This is true, but the quick start guide has everything you need for anyone who’s even remotely familiar with building a computer.

So for the complete noobie, they might have to go to the website and get more help, but otherwise the Quick Start is just fine and I’m happy there’s less junk in the box I have to throw away. The board has overclocking settings in the BIOS, but being a B460 chipset that purportedly doesn’t support OC, I’m not sure what will happen if you use a K-series CPU.

I haven’t built enough Intel rigs lately to know if you can get around the chipset limitation, might be worth looking into though if you have plans to OC. This build consisted of: Intel Core i3-10100 Oloy DDR4-3000 2 x 8gb (16gb) [set to DDR4-2666 due to CPU limitation] WD Black 500GB SN750 SSD 300W PSU / slim case Entire build was just a hair under four Benjamins, and that’s serious computing power compared to what you’d get a few years ago.

Hard to believe, this particular CPU is about as powerful as a I7-7700 that cost about three times as much just a couple/few years back. Would have certainly preferred a Ryzen platform but their CPUs have been impossible to find lately.

If you need a budget/mainstream right and don’t require displayport (or 4k @ 60hz resolution) this board is a solid motherboard that’s hard to beat.

I don’t know enough to give a very in depth review but if anything that should add some validity to my claims. I don’t work with computers but was able to easily read the instruction manual and find everything fairly quickly.

I’m very pleased with the number of USB slots it has, it came in quickly and in very secure packaging, and it over all was wonderful. I got this as a birthday gift (with other parts ofc) for my boyfriend whos an avid gamer and soon to be graduating in the IT field.

Though he’s still learning, he had a great time putting everything together and was very pleased with how sturdy this motherboard is. It’s a good spine for your PC needs!.

This board is an excellent value for the money. I am running a I7-9700K OC’d at 4. 9+ Ghz with 64 GB of ram. I have a M2 1TB SSD for the OS, 1 M2 1TB SSD for programs, both mounted on the MB. Two 1TB M2 SSD’s spanned for data, and 1 4TB enterprise HD for backup.

It is ready to login under 15 seconds every time. I use this PC mainly for home studio music production, it is outstanding. I have a MSI RX-580 with 8GB GDDR5 graphics card that runs extremely well with this board.

I use a Corsair 1000W PS with a Corsair liquid cooling with dual 120 cm fans. The system also has additional 3 140cm fans and 1 120cm fan. I have 3 fans as input air and 3 fans output air. The CPU never gets over 40C.

This MB also includes RGB LEDs that are programmable. The BIOS is very easy to use especially or OC settings. I’ve been running this setup for about a month, no issues whatsoever. This board will run 8th and 9th gen Intel CPU’s.

Bought this on sale for an i9 9900k. Works well, looks great, and the VRM is well designed (according to Gamer’s Nexus). I highly recommend it. The only problem that I have had with this motherboard is high CPU core voltage when you let the motherboard decide the voltage automatically.

My motherboard set my CPU voltage to 1. 42V – 1. 45V all the time when I was running Multi-Core Enhancement, which can make the CPU pretty toasty if you don’t have adequate cooling. Even with a decent cooler, this is too hot in my opinion.

This issue does not happen when Multi-Core Enhancement is disabled. You can manually overclock with this motherboard, so Multi-Core Enhancement isn’t necessary and you can overclock the CPU with whatever voltage you want.

Updating this review to 5 eggs because so far it’s been that good. It’s been a while since I put together a current high end system, so any slowness in getting it up was all me. The board is laid out well enough, for what it has crammed onto it.

The specs speak for themselves. I bought everything listed below to build a new system, so far I’ve not had a problem with a single component. I don’t OC anymore, no need to, system is more than fast enough even with 2666 memory, as I have 64GB of it.

My old system was dated, yeah, but this thing is almost stupid fast. 18 seconds from button press to Win10 ready to use. Motherboard is solid, but you can always get a lemon with any brand. I’ve been solid Gigabyte for years, almost decades.

2k Case fans up the ying yang. All purchased from newegg except for the Toshiba 4TB. Love newegg, never even had to send anything back to them so far, been shopping with them since the beginning.

Purchased this refurb MSI – Edge after I had to RMA an MSI B660 Tomahawk mobo. Mobo came in original box with ALL extra pieces sealed; just like new. The interior cardboard “tray” that the mobo is held in was missing so all those extras inside were rattling around when I picked up the box.

Thankfully the mobo plastic bag kept it protected enough. Straight forward install and appreciate all the SATA ports (using 5 Sata-6 ports and 2 M. 2 4th gen SSD’s. Six 4-pin fan headers comes in handy.

Not much I had to do in Bios – engage XMP profile for Ram (4 strips – 64 gb Patriot Viper Gaming PC4-28800 3600mhz) to get the fast ram speed. Select USB thumb drive as boot drive to install Windows 11 Pro.

Easiest mobo I’ve ever had to fire up on 1st attempt. Clean Win 11 install kicked off easy enough, but then Win 11 could not connect to internet (RJ-45 plugged in). Back I/O panel only showed yellow LAN light blinking.

Win 11 really wants you connected to internet to do install so I used a USB – Ethernet connector and that worked. Once Win 11 installed I thought it would be easy to update the Lan driver but nothing I tried worked.

Thankfully on the MSI thumb drive I manually found the Intel Proset Adapter Configuration Utility; after running it the Lan port came to life. FYI – this Intel Proset Adapter is not found on the MSI driver / utility page.

After Lan port got up and working everything else has went pretty smoothly. On the six Sata-6 ports; 2 of them (A & B) use the ASMedia chipset and those are not Hot Swappable configurable in the motherboard.

This means a hard drive plugged into Sata A or B always shops up in your Hardware Eject Media icon in Windows (like a USB thumb-drive does). So far haven’t figured out to eliminate the hard drive from showing up there.

Otherwise Windows 11 Pro is running smoothly. Even a novice “led light” person got my CoolerMaster RGB fan synced up to the internal Mobo lights using Mystic Light. The included MSI USB thumbdrive has the Mobo drivers and shows up like a CD drive icon in Windows, but I could never get it to autorun to load up the MSI driver install program (that will show you which drivers need installed or are missing).

I had already downloaded the latest drivers from MSI website so just manually installed each one. My only other Gripe is MSI does not provide a printed User Manual anymore. you get a quick install guide for hardware, very fancy gold foiled registration card, other marketing MSI literature, case badge, mobo stickers, but NO Manual.

which has some really useful info it. like which CPU fan port is for a Pump verse a regular fan. Overall I’ve grown to like MSI motherboard features and BIOS over the competition and would recommend this board.

Initial build went well and easy. Got system up and running and installed drivers with the provided USB key. Os Install was very fast with M. 2 main drive. Documentation was clear and easy. Tl:dr Attempting to install extra disk drives caused the system to have problems resulting in required bios update which got this system working But then ethernet failed along with memory issues.

I will be reluctant to go with an MSI motherboard in the future given the apparent fragility of this one by simply trying to expand the available disk drives causing so many problems. After system was stable and running, I installed the SSd’s and HDD from my previous build (sata) and then after that problems started happening.

1st boot after extra drives install, system took about 10 minutes to actually get to windows which was strange. After that it got stuck in a shutdown loop for 30 minutes and I decided to force power off (bad idea i know).

Disconnected the drives and verified that boot time lag/hang was gone but then the m. 2 drive was no longer detected by detected by the windows boot loader. Updated the bios which fixed the inability for the windows boot loader to see the M.

2 but then suddenly my memory was failing and the system was not stable. This could obviously be a coincidence but it seems strange that the memory started failing After the loss of M. 2 detection and required bios update.

After putting in new memory, the system is stable. I moved system into the room where it will live and the ethernet connection stopped working and always says there is no cable even when there is a good cable in a hot plug (verified cable is hot).

At least the Built-in Wi-Fi still works so I will have to deal with no Ethernet. I could RMA the board and consider a replacement or even a different board but I have recent physical disability issues which made this build extremely difficult on my hands and I have decided to simply wait for DDR5 memory to mature and replace the motherboard in about a year or so.

MSI support got back to me quickly and suggested an RMA. As mentioned, I have disability issues and building the computer was very physically challenging and I have decided not to RMA since the system is workable now.

I will probably not attempt to over a clock as I don’t have confidence this board will continue to function correctly if I do and I will just deal with the limitations for the next year.

Upgrading from an i7-6700k to an i7-12700k makes for a wonderful jump in performance (in many areas). It is much easier to edit in 4K now, multi-tasking feels a lot smoother (I do a LOT of multi-tasking across three monitors), video playback is smoother, and so is gaming.

This board helps to accomplish all of this and more with its vast amount of features and connectivity. Everything came together nicely, with only having to refer to the instructions a few times for the obvious stuff (pin configuration for power switch/led/hdd/reset, etc, which M.

2 slots were CPU vs chipset, etc). Upon first try everything booted, but it booted to the integrated graphics. For a quick moment my heart skipped a beat until I remembered that I needed to convert the Win10 drive to UEFI.

I did that and everything booted right into Windows. The BIOS offers an easy to work with interface that gets you through to all of the settings you’d need without any guessing. I still have a lot to play with when it comes to overclocking and I may come back to update this review if I find anything that steps on my mental foot too hard.

So far, I like it a lot. I just wish it had TB4 integrated on the back. It drives me (and so many others) insane that these DDR4 versions of the Z690 boards offer zero TB4 ports. I almost didn’t make the jump because of this.

Still not sure why I did since MSI’s TB4 card doesn’t even exist yet (let alone costing me even more on top of an already expensive board, to buy one). If MSI does this in future versions of their “powerful” models, I will skip a generation or trade sides as I hate moving backward as I am trying to move forward.

My i7-6700k setup had integrated TB ports on the back. So how is it 6 generations later I can’t get this anymore? Given, this is a major elbow to the gut for all DDR4 Z690 boards, not just this one. So the score this time mostly reflects how I feel this board balances between everything else out there within the Z690 DDR4 models.

I have been running my new build with the ASUS TUF Gaming Z490 Plus WI-FI with a 10700k for a week now with no issues. I overclocked the CPU to 5 GHz and have not gone above 60C once in gaming and with AIDA 64 100% stress for 60 mins the hottest the CPU got was 76C and had full stability.

I am a novice PC builder, I do it once every 4-5 years, and forget a lot in that time. The MB layout made cabling easy, everything snapped right into place, and the included instructions were clear. The MB felt sturdy to me.

I read the more expensive boards can have better audio and more stable OC but I am having no issues. but to be fair, it’s been a week. Let me address some comments here: 1) WifI works perfectly for me, it’s up instantly after computer sleep.

that is either an isolated issue or use issue. 2) This MB does not have annoying LEDs. 2 small LEDs on the right side, not sure how that can annoy you unless you sleep looking into your computer case.

WIFI did not connect out of the box as another user mentioned, but it was no issue for me to download the driver on my laptop and install it with a portable HD I had. You won’t get an install screen, a little box just quickly flashed onscreen after clicking setup then all WIFI in rnage just popped up in Windows 10 lower right.

TLDR: If all you want is one good NVidia GPU and an overclocked CPU with WIFI this board nails it, no need to spend more even if you have the spare cash.

I am very please with this motherboard. I replaced an almost ten-year old Intel motherboard and didn’t have any major problems (except missed connecting my CD/DVD rom drives to the power supply). When I turned it on it scared me as it couldn’t find a boot drive.

Turns out you have to set the default boot method to legacy bios rather than UEFI in the bios setting to get it to recognize the boot drive. This is required if you are using an existing drive that is configured using legacy bios.

I don’t think this would be a problem if you are building a new computer and are using a brand new drive. The instructions could have provided more information on this. They are pretty much all pictures and don’t go into a lot of detail on the difference.

Once I had figured this out, the computer booted right up. Also, there is a bios update on the ASUS website but when I try to install it, it says that it’s not applicable to my motherboard. I haven’t figured out what’s going on with that.

This motherboard is of a nice quality construction and packs a lot of features although some were disappointing. Armoury Crate being one and the poor performing WiFi another. Luckily I was a able to easily disable Aura features in the UEFI has it was slightly annoying when the PC was off.

The built in WiFi 6 would not get above 80 MBPS even connected to a WiFi 6 router with an excellent signal. The Bluetooth appears to be solid. Still not a bad board for the money.

Bien penser à formater son SSD avec l’outil inclus ds le BIOS, Erase Data+++, qui permettra à la CM de bien reconnaître votre SSD.

Pro- Easy to Install- RGB looks great- WiFi works very well- Supports 11 series Intel- Supports new PCIe 4. 0- BIOS is easy to update and accessCon- The only con I have is that the CPU pump header works sporadically.

I initially thought my new CPU cooler was the problem. I noticed the CPU was constantly going to 100. Upon a restart it would then work just fine. I was stumped. Looked in the Bios and noticed that the water cooler pump showed up as not connected.

When I moved it to the CPU OPT and configured it, always cool. I had updated the BIOS, but that never fixed the problem. Dont know if it was the MoBo itself of just that header.

HARDWARE USED: ASUS Prime B560-Plus motherboard i5-11500 CPU paired with Enermax ETS-T40fit (200W TDP) CPU Cooler WD SN 850 500GB gen 4 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD Patriot Memory Viper Steel (2×8 GB) DDR4-3600MHz XMP memory My PC build with this motherboard was not as smooth as the other reviewers claimed.

Hopefully my experience with it can help other PC builders resolving some issues. As a share holder of Newegg stock, this can help avoiding unnecessary return of the motherboard to Newegg. During initial Win 10 installation, the LAN driver was not available.

It will be good to have a USB Wi-Fi dongle connected before installing Win 10. When activating and installing Win 10, it will check if Wi-Fi dongle is present. If so, Win 10 will ask for Wi-Fi password.

If dont have internet yet, just click I dont have internet, this will allow minimum setup. Once activated and rebooted, insert ASUSs driver disc to load drivers. However, one driver is still missing (I did not notice it until later on, after encountering some problems, and that led me to install Win 10 again and things acted a little bit different from first installation, same Wi-Fi dongle password worked during first Win 10 installation were not accepted during second time.

I still do not understand why). Visited Intel site to download Driver and Support Assistant and run it. Rebooted and the driver was still missing from Device Manager. At this point I believed I got to return the motherboard to Newegg.

Did not give up yet, later on reset BIOS to Optimized Defaults and then saved. This time no more missing driver, problem resolved. Out of so many motherboards in the market, this is the only one that fits all my requirements (budget, form factor, multi PCI x 16 slots, three video ports, no GPU needed, multi M.

2 slots, Thunderbolt 4 header. etc). Definitely will recommend people to use this good value motherboard for 11th generation CPU and PCIe 4. 0 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD (and 10th generation as well). I believe performance for my current new PC is way, way overkill for general daily tasks, but no complain for doing things faster.

The two cons are not enough for me to take out an egg as they can be compensated or fixed. Here, I can answer my own questions posted April 16 ,2021 that all 3 video ports working right with the UHD 750 graphics with this motherboard.

This MB is real cool I like it alot. It is fun and I love the way it looks. All the people who didn’t read about the stuff that doesn’t work when you put something here or don’t have a 11th Gen CPU, are just big dodos! This board is great and runs Win11 like Win11 should be run on this board.

One thing though, if your old harddrive is MBR and you are using the on board graphics, CSM will be disabled. But, you can call Doug in Ohio. He will tell you how to fix that. He works for Micro Center, and is cool, just like this ASUS Prime B560-Plus Motherboard!! How is that Asus people? Better? Do I pass now?.

This motherboard was closer to the budget side of what I found for the i5 – 11600k I was planning on getting. The main downside of this motherboard is that you can’t overclock your cpu with it, which didn’t really make a difference to me because my cpu is strong enough for my needs.

One other small thing is that I have two cards that I plug into both of the smaller PCIe slots, but my GPU left almost no clearance for the lower card (GPU is a 1080ti that’s smaller than most newer GPUs).

Bascially, if you don’t care about overclocking then this is a really good deal.
