20 Best Moisturiser For Dry Acne Prone Skin (2023 Updated)

I caution any skincare shopper to beware of radical claims of, “This cleared up my skin in days!” or “Never buy this product! Ruined my skin!” Everyone’s skin is different, and, in my understanding, there are very, very few ingredients that produce immediate results, and most formulations are not actively comedogenic in this day and age.

That being said, this product is fantastic. No, it did not do anything magically, but for a moisturizer for acne-prone skin, I have never used a product like it. I used to swear off “luxury” skincare and only use drugstore products.

However, the amount of drugstore moisturizer I used on my skin to get even close to the same benefit is incomparable. The tube may be “smaller,” but you use WAY less and get much more out of it. It is the perfect weight for my skin- canceling out both the oily and dry zones- while protecting me from irritation from my prescription retinoid! The product may sting if you put too much on at first! But that might be your skin type not being compatible.

If you generally are not super SUPER sensitive (like I was when I FIRST tried it and was using too much), this product should be fine (especially if you give it a few chances and titrate). The ingredient list is also impeccable.

If you’re worried about how quickly it works, I can at least say it leaves a gorgeous glow after use every time!.

To find myself in my 50’s and for the first time to be experiencing severe cystic acne as a result of menopausal hormonal changes ,was devastating. Friends had always commented on my beautiful skin. I tried many, many products until I came upon a Dermatologists recommend for Paula’s Choice superb range.

My skin dramatically improved with the suggested regime that the website suggested. I rarely need to exfoliate daily with the Skin perfecting 2%BHA liquid exfoliant contains salicylic acid unless I get a mini breakout.

However the Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser I use twice daily. It is gentle but so effective, a foaming cleanser which leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I rarely use a toner but always follow up with Calm repairing Serum with a drop of Boost C15 super booster containing Vitamin C and my skin is regaining its soft radiance again.

I still get the odd nasty spot but my skin is so much better now.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews for products especially where they are just meh, but this moisturiser damaged my moisture barrier and left my skin a dry and flaky mess that I am still trying to fix.

I really wanted to like this product because it contains ceramides which I believe is good for skin barrier health. I have oily skin and have always used oil-free moisturisers such as QV’s oil free moisturiser which have always been sufficiently hydrating and moisturising for my skin, and I thought that this moisturiser and the ceramides within would be amazing for my skin.

Boy was I wrong. I gave it a couple of weeks and tried it multiple times – when my skin was a bit drier, when it was nice and hydrated, and on all occasions it actually made my skin dry and flaky (see photos).

As an oily skin person, I don’t usually get flaky skin on my skin (maybe just around my nose during hayfever season), so I was SHOCKED when my skin started flaking ALL OVER MY FACE in areas that wouldn’t usually get that dry and parched.

This is the only new product that I have incorporated into my routine and I have actually cut back on my use of differin since it started giving me grief, wondering if this moisturiser just isn’t occlusive enough to prevent differin irritation like my other moisturisers do.

However, even after I stopped using differin, the moisturiser still makes my skin flake when I’m not using differin. I had been using differin regularly for a number of months when I started using this moisturiser and my skin has become pretty accustomed to differin, so it does seem like the irritation and flakiness was either caused by or exacerbated by this moisturiser, especially since my skin started improving after switching back to my usual oil-free moisturisers.

I would definitely return this if I didn’t have to pay for return shipping and purchase packaging for the return of this product. I would not recommend this to anyone.

So I have PCOS which causes me to have hormonal acne at the wonderful age of 34. I thought I would be done with it after my teenage years but that is not the case. I was super happy to receive this voxbox and hopefully rid myself of this acne once again, Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

Over all it did work when used daily. I had less active breakouts. I really liked the exfoliating scrub it left my skin feeling fresh and clean. I did use a better moisturizer on tip of the 2 that are provided with the kit because they were more drying with the active ingredients being benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.

I did take away 1 star and probably should have take away another because as soon as I stopped using it after 2 weeks the acne came right back, I didn’t expect it to 100% cure my issue because it is more hormonal than anything, but I did hope to see an improvement in the amount or severity of the breakouts, but that wasn’t the case.

I did stop using it after 2 weeks for 1 week so I could test it and see how it would function for someone who would be thinking my skin has cleared up I am good to go. I feel like this is a product you would have to continually use to see any benefits.

I had high hopes for this set, since it was meant for individuals with sensitive skin like myself. I completely stopped my usual routine in order to use this for the 30 days. I could barely complete two weeks.

My skin broke out so badly. I kept thinking it was my mask but it had never given me issues before. So I kept trying to give it a chance but ultimately gave up. As soon as I stopped and went back to my usual routine my skin got better.

Maybe my skin is just too sensitive for this kind of set. Really wish it could’ve done better.

I have tried many many moisturizers over the years and this is definitely in my top five! First of all I was skeptical when I first got it because when you squeeze it out it looks like lotion, and I was like heck nah I ain’t putting lotion on my face so I did a spot test on my hand before I did a spot test on my cheek (plz always do spot tests, you never know how your skin is going to react to a new product) GIRL it doesn’t look like it would glide on thick but it’s THICC, with two Cs.

A little goes a longggg way, you can feel the hydration after one use. and if you don’t want a thicc moisturizer, don’t buy this but if you do it’s perfect for you! I use it as my night skin care routine moisturizer and when I wake up in the morning my face is soooooo soft! I love this moisturizer so much I bought the cleanser and toner that goes with this, this trio combination is *chefs kiss* Try it you won’t regret it! For reference I am a 25 year old female with combination skin.

I am obsessed with this moisturizer. I work in the skincare world so I’ve bought and been gifted and tried a million moisturizers and this has quickly become my go to. It’s the perfect every day moisturizer, not too thin but not too thick either.

Feels so smooth and hydrating going on, never leaves me feeling greasy or oily. I just stared to use a stronger prescription retinoid (tretinon) and this moisturizer layers on top of it perfectly, keeps my skin from being too dry or flaky, and is great day or night.

I’ve also made my fiance, mom, and coworker all start using it, which speaks volumes! I use this + the exfoliating jelly cleanser almost every day and I love them both.

If you oily and you don’t like gelly-like creams this cream is a saviour. It has very simple ingredients, but man! Whoever put them together is a pure genius. I’ve been through 7 bottles so far and yes it’s expensive, and yes it’s not “a little goes a long way” type of product.

And yes, the packaging is a complete disaster (the pump broke almost with every single bottle I’ve had-you still can scoop it out but it’s a mundane process). But I’ll keep repurchasing no matter what.

It’s a perfect product.

I received a sample of this lotion and tried it only to get a terrible itchy rash all over my face and neck (exactly where I used this lotion) about a day later! The rash got progressively worse over the course of another day.

I’ve never had a reaction like this to a skincare product. This is the only new product I’ve tried recently, though I’ve used all sorts of things over the years. I suspect this is some kind of allergic reaction; the only allergy I have that I know of is a mild one to shellfish (iodine dye).

I suspect the algae ingredients, possibly Ahnfeltiopsis Concinna Extract, may be involved here but am not sure. I’ve used other products with marine ingredients and had no issues. I’m still dealing with the rash and itch now, and relieved only that it’s a pandemic so I can legitimately not leave my house until it clears up.

I’ve thrown away the remainder of the sample!!.

This moisturizer is amazing. I have combination skin, with a slightly oily t-zone. This lightweight lotion lightly moisturizes and softens my skin to where its not dry but not greasy. I wear it alone or under make up and it creates a perfect smooth canvas.

Its my holy grail! A plus is also that the inside lid is a push down pump which excretes product from the center, so your fingers dont touch the bottles product.

I wear this every day as my base lotion and sun protection. I’ve used it for over a year and WOW! First of all, I’m still using the same bottle – a little goes a long way! Perhaps the most impressive thing is that I have never gotten sunburnt with it; this is coming from a person who has had to use 100+ sunscreen ALWAYS (no, 30 or even 50 SPF does not work like 100 SPF does!) and burns within 10 minutes of being in the sun without protection.

I’m so fair-skinned that I can hardly use any brand’s concealer or foundation because even the lightest shades are orange on me (I’ve loved using the lightest shade liquid concealer from Jovia’s Place – another great product to try if you’re very fair-skinned).

All this to say, I’m blown away by this product. My skin is average to dry. It’s not incredibly oily whatsoever, but you may find it helpful to use a matte foundation or tint over it if you’re concerned.

No white streaks. I’m always so tempted to try the newest and prettiest products, but this is a keeper!.

I was really looking forward to this product after reading the reviews, and seeking a daily moisturizer with SPF. This product is extremely thick and felt like it sat on top of my face all day, never soaking in.

It left a significant greasy feel that I experienced all day, made even worse if I tried to layer any sort of makeup on top of it. After using it for 3-4 days, I developed painful cystic blemishes all over my face — I assume from the thick/greasy product clogging my pores.

(I wash/tone/serum my face with MB products every night, and had clear skin before using this SPF moisturizer). The product DID provide good SPF coverage as I never burned, even while navigating strong summer sun in Texas.

I want to return the product, but MB makes you pay for your own shipping, which means you don’t get an actual full refund for your return. Very disappointed in this product and MB’s return policy.

I used this as a daily moisturizer after cleansing and using a toner. It absorbed into my skin well, and I loved the dewy way it made my skin look. I used the same small bottle for several months, so a little goes a long way! Unfortunately, it made my skin feel very congested, and my acne flared up.

My pores were full of gunk, my face was really oily, and I started getting cystic acne on my face and neck. I quit using it three days ago and my skin has already calmed down immensely, and the cysts are going away.

If you have skin that isn’t acne-prone or is more dry, this could be great for you. If your skin is acne-prone, be careful!.

Ok so this is usually the only face lotion within my budget when I’m on an extra tight one! Let’s do pros then cons. Pros: This will really wake you up in the morning! It has that menthol tingling sensation same as Vapor rub or Noczema.

This could be a pro or a con. This is really light feeling. Many face creams and lotions have that dewy greasy or heavy feeling, but this ones a thin layer no matter how much you put on. Cons: That menthol feeling if you put it on before bed can be annoying.

Also, I think this does something to my skin like dry it out I’m not quite sure. Since I started using it again areas of my face with a history of acne just itch. Nothing pops up like a pimple but it’s quite irritable.

Overall this is a good choice when you’re on a budget. But if you can spend even a few more bucks I’d try a more natural option.

I decided to try this product bc the one I normally get was sold out. BIG MISTAKE. After a few days of using this product my face started itching really bad. No face “moisturizer” ever made my skin itch like that so I didn’t think it was this product at first.

I then took a step back and realized that I didn’t start having this bad itch until after a few days of using this face lotion. And if that wasn’t bad enough, I noticed light spots start appearing on my face.

I have no known allergies, so whatever ingredients are in this product definitely needs to be reviewed. I’m now on the hunt for a new moisturizer to fix the issues I had with this one. So a big fat no would I recommend this product to someone else.

I love this moisturizer so much as it is part of both my daily and nightly routines. I like the packaging and how it matches my cleanser. When I first tried this product I was 14 and it gave me a rash on my face because it was too harsh for me but now my skin isn’t sensitive and I have grown older.

As I got older my face became less sensitive, more oily and even more prone to acne. I am 20 now and I love this moisturizer because it helps me keep better control of my acne. I totally recommend this if you struggle with acne as long as your facial skin isn’t sensitive.

If you have sensitive skin you will most likely break out with itchy blotchy redness like I did but it is super strong, effective, and helps me control my acne.

I love tula products! I really enjoyed the 24/7 moisture but with my acne prone/sensitive/ red skin I need something more that helped those specific needs! I still love that moisturizer which really helped my skin but now that I am using the super soothe in the morning and the breakout star acne moisturizer at night.

But everyone’s skin is different and what works for some might not work for others. That was my concern that I would be that person it did not work for. BUT it is working amazingly for my skin! I love the acne foam cleanser and clear it up gel.

I was using these first then finally added the breakout star moisturizer! I should of just got the level 3 acne kit but was so nervous it wouldn’t work! Now I just get the level three kits because all three products really help my acne prone/ cystic acne! I have maybe two cysts right now instead of 8 plus! I have been using Tula for almost a year and have had nothing but amazing results. I am 26 and have had constant break outs since I was 12 years old. I have tried every brand and natural remedy known to man.

I have been using the level 2 acne kit for the past year. However, it does not come with a moisturizer. I started using an Aveeno one and it worked great up until Corona started and I had to start wearing a mask for 8-12 hours per shift at work.

I was plagued with the dreaded “maskne” like many others have. I told myself to make the splurge once I finished the other bottle since the price is what was teetering me. I decided to try it when a coupon for prestige brands was floating around.

At the time of first use, I had a few very deep rooted, hormonal zits on my chin. Those super fun ones that hurt and look like mountains. After a day those zits were GONE thanks to the added acne benefits of this moisturizer.

I am forever grateful for finally trying it. I have not had a pimple last more than a day with this added to my skincare routine. I hope this lasts like my other Tula products. I typically get three months per item which makes it seem inexpensive when breaking down the costs.

I have started using some Tula products and liked the acne and tone correcting gel so I got this with high hopes. Unfortunately, I had a terrible reaction to it almost immediately after application and it burned and caused my skin to turn bright red.

I don’t have sensitive skin so this was really unusual for me. I also did not like the feel of the moisturizer at all, feels a little like a film is left on your face. I have to give Tula credit for their customer service though, returning it was a breeze.

This was not for me but I will continue to use the sunscreen and acne gel.

My daughter loves the moisturiser. Due to her sensitive skin we have tried many different products/ ranges and this is the only one which doesnt make her skin worse. It is fragrance free and free of all the bad things which irritate skin.

It is so smooth and soothes her skin. Since using this her skin condition has improved so much, she isnt as red and it is very soft. We feel it has really help rebuild her skin. You only need a small amount each time as it spreads really well therefore one bottle lasts at least 3 months.

My daughter is on prescribed medication at the moment so it was very important the products we use dont make her skin sore. Clearly are the only ones we will now use as we are confident she isnt going to react to them.

I am super happy with these products. I have been struggling with acne and scars for a little over a year now after I decided to go off birth control pills. I have never in my life struggeled with acne before.

I went to my doctor who prescribed a face wash and antibiotics. She also recommended some moisturizers. This whole treatment dried my face up and my skin was peeling and burning for three weeks. A little while into this treatment i started using Cleary Basics Power Duo and Protective Moisturizer and I loved it.

This moisturizer actually keep my dry skin hydrated without being oily and that is just with a tiny amount. I highly recommend it for people with dry skin.

This is an amazing moisturizer for combination skin and acne-prone skin! The texture was really nice and felt great on the skin; it’s light but moisturizing and doesn’t weigh the skin down (you’ll forget you were wearing it!) My bottle has lasted quite a while which goes to say that a little goes a long way with this product! I will say because it doesn’t have the thickest coverage, I’m not sure how this would fare with people with drier skin types, so I only used this at night before bed during the winter.

Overall, it was a great purchase, and I’d buy it again.

When I first thought about a moisturizer, I wondered how am I going to carry it off? Nobody likes the GREASY look! Oily-skinned people have to go through so many problems. I have a combination skin which does end up being oily many a times And the t-zone? The bottle read “Neutrogena Oil-free moisturizer “ for “Combination Skin.

” All I could see was the “Combination Skin” part. It says you’re supposed to apply one “PUMP” to your neck and your face. When I first applied it, I felt a bit oily, but in 20 sec it was all gone. All I got was a MATT FINISH! I was SHOCKED! My skin looked fine, perfectly smooth, with no sign of oiliness.

You can also use it as a Makeup-base. It works really well! All you need is one PUMP, and it lasts forever, Trust me. That is a lot for the price you pay. They also have a moisturizer for sensitive skin.

This product blends into your skin, and it doesn’t leave any residue at all. I wouldn’t call it pricey at all. According to me, this product is the best one from their side Purchase this product only if you have oily or combination skin.

People with dry skin won’t be satisfied with the product. So I guess this was what I felt about this product.

I purchased this in a pinch on vacation when I had a mishap with the moisturizer I had packed. I typically use high end professional skincare products so was a bit nervous. This was lightweight and felt great on.

I have super oily skin and am super picky about moisturizers as I don’t want anything that will exasperate the issue. This did a great job of keeping my pretty even. Would definitely recommend.

I bought this to have a smaller sized everyday moisturiser yet there are so many flaws with this cream. Firstly, it smells and looks exactly like sorbolene cream. It reminds me of playing with my grandmas skin creams in the 90’s, the smell, the texture.

Secondly, I exfoliate, cleanse, tone then moisturise. This doesn’t at all soak into my skin and when rubbed in it turns white and basically stays like that, then dries and leaves a sticky feeling. Overall this for my skin isn’t a good cream by any standards, and it’s very very small for just under $30.

I’m very pleased with this moisturizer; it’s lightweight and has absolutely no smell. It’s more of a gel consistency than your average cream/lotion/moisturizer. I am still trying to get my ratio correct, I notice if I start at my cheeks and move inward, I am have the least amount of oils after a few hours- but if I start at the nose or forehead and work outwards, I tend to have a more oily T-zone (I also wear glasses 24.

7)- But even still, I’m VERY pleased with the results; the oil I DO get isn’t near the amount i would normally, so this is an improvement! I don’t feel gross at all, which is wonderful.

I love this moisturiser and I buy it again every time I run out of it. It leaves my skin feeling really moisturised without feeling oily, and goes really well under makeup. My only complaint about it would be that the bottle design is a bit annoying sometimes.

The end of the nozzle becomes blocked occasionally with dried moisturiser and then when I squeeze it out, the dry bit dislodges and I get a massive amount of moisturiser squirt out!.

I am in my 40s, and I have combination skin. I like that this product is hydrating, but not too thick and heavy. I have trouble with some nighttime moisturizers making my face sweat, but this one does not.

It is not greasy. It goes on smoothly and soaks in well. I am also VERY sensitive to fragrances, but the fragrance of this moisturizer does not bother me at all. I actually like it–it’s kind of unisex in my opinion.

I was religiously using a very expensive moisturizer from a higher-end brand and I thought I’d never be able to replicate the results (moisturizing, blemish-fighting, non-greasy and non-irritating) with a drugstore brand moisturizer.

But the super high price tag was starting to really bug me given moisturizer is something I go through quite a bit of. I took a chance based on the recommendation of the drugstore clerk and decided to try Aveeno’s Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer (together with the cleanser).

Well. Now I’m kicking myself that I dropped all that money on such an expensive moisturizer for all those years when this does the exact same thing, perhaps even better! It’s been a few weeks and I have to say, my skin hasn’t looked this clear in years, and it’s so soft and not at all irritated.

Sometimes salicylic acid is too much for my skin but the lower concentration in this (I think 0. 5%) is just the right amount to make a difference but also to be gentle enough to handle on a daily basis.

I use this together with the Clear Complexion cleanser and I’m blown away by how this drugstore brand rivals the results I got with super expensive products. I also love the finish this moisturizer leaves – my skin feels very soft and moisturized but almost mattified.

Zero greasiness or shine in my oilier areas. I’m indepted to that drugstore clerk as she’s just saved me a ton of money going forward!.

I absolutely love this product. For one. my face is clear after years of struggling to find something that didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and clog my pores. It moisturizes without feeling greasy, absorbs into my skin quickly without feeling heavy or tacky.

Makes my skin feel and look naturally moisturized and healthy with no extra shine. This goes very well under foundation and helps prevent my foundation from clogging my pores also, although since using this product for a few months now I honestly don’t really need foundation anymore.

I recently bought the matching cleanser and I’m just blown away by even better results since using both products on a daily basis. My pores are usually larger, clog easily and I tend to break out within hours of using other products whether it be soap, makeup, moisturizer or cleanser.

Since using this product my pores are much smaller, my skin looks more plump, tight in a youthful way(I’m 36) more tone and even. I wish I had known about this sooner. My 15 year old daughter has also started using it after seeing my results and loves it too.

We use it morning, night and sometimes in-between if it’s a warmer day. I recommend this to everyone I can. It really is a miracle product.

This cream seems to work miracles for my skin. I use it every morning and every night as my skin care routine. So far I have had no break outs anymore. Using it for 2 weeks. My skin feels and looks great.

I used ULMD prior to the name change. Faithful since 2008. Love the formula. It’s like nothing I have ever used. Whipped texture and feels so luxurious!

I purchased this fairly recently, looking for a moisturizer that didn’t smell like my current one, which was supposedly fragrance free but smelled unpleasant. I was a little nervous about purchasing due to my past experience with gel moisturizers.

Fast forward to after I cleansed my face and used my gel toner. I opened the lightweight container to see what appeared to be a thick substance and gently placed three fingers on the gel. After removing my fingers I was surprised to feel a cool and light product.

I rubbed my hands together and started massaging my face. I noticed the aromatic scent. The smell was light and brought a smile to my face. As I continued massaging my face I realized that the amount I placed on my face was too much.

I was surprised to know how far the product could go. After allowing my face to soak up the goodness, my skin felt smooth and soft. My face felt hydrated and happy. This made me happy. I have combination skin which is extremely acne prone.

So far everything is going well. Everyone has different skin and products are not a “one size fits all”, but I do recommend giving this product a try.

There are a lot of things I like about this gel and I really wanted to love it. I’m a huge fan of gel moisturizers as I find them light enough for my skin and they don’t make me feel greasy. This gel feels amazing when you put it on – cooling and refreshing.

I LOVE the scent but it is pretty strong, something to keep in mind if you’re scent-averse. It goes on smooth and absorbs fairly quickly. Unfortunately, it is a little thicker than other gel moisturizers I’ve tried (more like a gel cream) and so it didn’t blend into my skin as well as I would have hoped.

I was hoping it would be a good dupe for my tried-and-true Neutrogena Hydroboost gel moisturizer (it’s about $10 cheaper and you get way more moisturizer in each container) but it’s thicker and heavier so I’ll stick with Neutrogena as my daily driver.

That being said, I’m still enjoying this Clean & Clear gel and will continue to use it when I need an extra refresher or an overnight moisturizer.

I used Clean and Clear aloe vera calming gel moisturizer, for 2 weeks straight, and not only did I absolutely love the texture, but it moisturized my skin and kept it moisturized, all through the day; without leaving any kind of greasy residue on my skin.

I was not familiar with gel cream texture, but I must say, a little goes a very long way, and it saturates into the skin so quickly. The scent was very light and pleasant. It does not linger. It was also very soothing and Cooling as soon as I put it on my skin.

I love using this not only every night and during the day; but after exfoliating & just anytime my skin felt irritated, or needed an extra boost of hydration. I will definitely be adding this to my everyday skin care regimen.

I am very impressed, and I was definitely recommend to anyone with dry, oily, combo or sensitive skin. Great product that works at a very affordable price.

Loved this product have oily skin. Really helps with bumps on my face cleaning out them. Would recommend this product for in between type skin. Was fairly new when purchased but I love Neutrogena products and how they work with my skin.

I felt like I lost a couple of years of age progression using this product. Hello world with my big belly and all felt really good. So if anyone wants to try Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub and have a really fresh face I would surely recommend it.

Tell everyone and everybody about this product to try for themselves. Go right ahead. I am still using this product now that I’m pregnant with my second child and I’m getting the same results as before when I was pregnant with my first child.

Try and tell people abouts this product so they can experience euphoria that i felt and feel everytime i use it. Just be careful not use to much of it at one time because they have microbeads in them and be careful not to harshly wash your face also with this product.

In general it is a great working product. Just maybe we could make it with other fruits? But I totally recommend this product, well any of Neutrogena products are a sure to please and work for what it’s attended purpose was.

Also great for all and any age, as well as perfectly perfect for female and male usage. would I purchase this product again? Like I said before all of Neutrogena products are top notch. I’d be dumb not to go with Neutrogena and use a different brand.

No, no, no not me. I’ll stick with a winning company Neutrogena why waste your money with anything else. If you are not satisfied for any reason whatsoever and I doubt you would but if so ask any other person if there would like to take that product off your hands and they will be asking you are you serious? Because it’s the best and you are just throwing it away tisk tisk tisk.

I tried this for the first time last year, and let me tell you just wow. The results are almost immediate with skin irritation. My skin is very sensitive, and I’ve tried almost everything out to control this.

Each time seemed worse than the last leaving bums, and redness everywhere. I couldn’t wear tank tops, or anything due to the bumps being so bad. One use of this I was hooked. I woke up the next day to find most had disappeared, or decreased tremendously.

After using it for a week they were gone completely, and have not returned. Don’t get me wrong I have tried other products in the midst of using this, and instantly knew it was a must. Seeing small irritations starting.

Needless to say I have used just this , or neutropenia products only since. I would highly recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin. I have no complaints, or changes at all.

let me preface this by saying i have extremely oily skin, to the point that my glasses slide down my nose all day. at this point it’s become a nuisance so bought this as it’s oil absorbing and the reviews were mostly good.

one of the worst mistakes of my life. i had bought this product as well as the cetaphil dermacontrol oil removing face wash and have used both for only two days now. i started noticing a bit of redness on day one but i continued to use it.

i woke up this morning to a complete breakout. tiny red pimples all over both of my cheeks and jaw. it looks absolutely horrific; i haven’t had acne this bad since middle school, and i’m 28. i was not acne prone anymore before usage.

i’m glad this product has helped the majority of people, but if you have >excessively< oily skin, it is NOT for you, it’ll dry you out so quick that you’ll immediately cause a breakout. it’s just too harsh.

would not even recommend it to anyone. EDIT- it has gotten so bad that my face is raw and burning. saw my regular doctor just to make sure it wasn’t an allergic reaction – it was. i assume it’s the foaming ingredient.

I bought this product because I have used the Cetaphil brand before and like it, and specifically, this moisturizer was marketed as being “oil-control” as well as having spf in it. I have combo but mostly oily skin and usually hate the feeling of heavy moisturizers, so the idea that this one would help control oil on my face was worth the higher price tag for me (bought it for about $17 at Target or CVS).

However, I tried it immediately and HATED the smell it had on my face, and it did not go away over time- it smelled like straight up sunblock. The smell was so strong, I actually had to wash it off my face to get rid of it.

I have tried applying it multiple times since, even just on my hands, and for me I cannot get over the overwhelming smell that this lotion has. The consistency is not overly thick, and is similar to Neutrogena ones that I ended up buying instead.

If you like the smell of sunscreen or don’t mind it on your face, then this product could work for you. However, I don’t feel like this would have any “oil-control” properties and is the same as any similar moisturizer (only more expensive due to this claim).

This particular product has spf 30 which isn’t that high and many other brands offer moisturizers with similar spf (I’ve tried the Eucerin Daily Moisturizer with spf 30) and the Cetaphil one had by far the strongest scent that never faded (whereas the others tended to fade over time).

I definitely would not recommend this to anybody who is sensitive to smells or fragrance, or anybody with sensitive skin (I’m usually not sensitive to fragrance and do not have sensitive skin, yet this one really bothered me).

I am disappointed with this product made by a reputable brand that I usually trust. I am honestly surprised it is still being sold because of its high price tag and it being “nothing special” compared to other drugstore face moisturizers.

I now use the oil-free Neutrogena lotion which I like a lot because it is very lightweight and has no scent. Other good moisturizers I have tried are CeraVe, Burt’s Bee’s Skincare Sensitive Skin Moisturizers (this one is great too!), Clean Clear dual-action Acne Fighting Lotion (great if you have acne), or even regular Cetaphil lotion.

Overall, the spf is not amazing (you would still need to reapply it often) and it’s at best decent at moisturizing skin, so I would recommend buying a regular moisturizer regardless of its spf instead of this (and use actual sunblock if you plan on being out in the sun!).

As for the “oil-control” aspect, I would suggest any “oil-free” moisturizer at the drugstore, or if really looking to “control oil production” try one of the high-end brands at places like Sephora (Ole Henricksen has a good “balancing” oil-control type moisturizer) which can possibly deliver on these claims by using specific ingredients.

This is not a drugstore dupe for any of the expensive products mentioned above. This was also fairly expensive, and is currently close to $20 for a regular sized bottle, which costs much more than other drugstore moisturizers, and you are not getting a large amount of product either.

I’m mad I wasted this much money on a drugstore moisturizer (which I can’t even bear to use due to its overwhelming scent) and wish I paid $10-$20 extra to just get the higher-end product from Sephora, or bought a cheaper drugstore moisturizer like the ones I mentioned above (all which are about half the price of this one).

I only rated this product 2 stars because it may work for some people whose skin is “normal” (my sister tried it and didn’t have a problem with it, but she can use literally anything on her skin and nothing bothers her).

From my personal experience with the product I would give it 1 star.

I bought this because I read a lot of great reviews on it. I have oily skin, and am constantly looking for a good mattifying facial SPF product. The bottle has a lot of product in it, and I really like the pump top.

It is also really reasonably priced. I don’t really feel like it helps to absorb oil throughout the day like it claims to. Also, it is really thin and gets into your eyes if you sweat. If it gets into your eyes it stings really badly, and for a long time.

I just didn’t have a good experience using this, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. I definitely won’t buy it again. It’s too bad, because I had high expectations for this. I like a lot of the other products that Cetaphil makes, this just isn’t it.

My skin is incredibly dry. Usually, the adjustment period during change of seasons is absolutely brutal. This is my first time using Proactiv’s green tea moisturizer and I have to say, I absolutely love it! it has kept my skin moisturized during this tough period and has been an excellent skin prep tool before makeup.

I’ve used quite a few moisturizers and this one is definitely one of my favorites. My skin never feels greasy or tacky, the moisturizer leaves it feeling fresh and soft. It even helps with keeping my skin from overproduction of oils, which usually happens when my skin is too dry to over compensate.

I use it night and day with my skin care and sunblock, and my skin has healed and has been doing excellently through my period and seasonal change. Love it!.

I recieved this product free for review from Influenster, that in no way alters my honest review of this product. I was extremely excited to try the Proactive Green Tea Moisturizer. I have never tried any of the Proactive line of products, but have heard very good things about this brand.

Unfortunately this moisturizer made me break out. I tried using it a few times over the past 4 weeks and everytime I used it I broke out the day after. I was very disappointed because I had such high hopes for a product that is supposed to be focused on acne prevention.

I received this product in a VoxBox and I am obsessed! I had a cold and usually my skin is super oily but since I was sick I had extremely dry skin especially around my nose. The first day I used this product my dry skin disappeared! I was shocked because I couldn’t find anything to help.

It has a beautiful finish and does not make your face oily, definitely helped out with keeping my skin smooth. I now use this product every single morning and added it to my skincare routine. I highly recommend this product!.

This product feels really nice on my skin when I first put it on, but over time it seems to actually dry my skin out a bit more. It’s just not heavy enough for a daily moisturizer for me right now, I prefer to use creams and lotions in the winter/dryer months.

This is more of a gel. It smells nice though and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tacky or sticky, and it did not clog my pores at all. If you are not on the drier side and only need a light moisturizer this would probably be great for you.

This just doesn’t work with my current skin needs.

This is a really nice feeling moisturizer. I like the ingredient list overall, so that’s a win. The product goes on smoothly and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and fresh. The only thing I don’t love is the scent.

It is fresh, and not unpleasant, but it has a strong scent memory association for me with really cheap hotel skincare/haircare. I might not purchase this again because of this, but I’m happy with the results of this moisturizer and I’ll definitely use it up.

Okay, i have to leave a review because 1. this has been a staple product among the rest of my usual high end skin care for YEARS but 2. I feel like it only works on certain types of skin to make a difference.

I used this all through high school and never really had acne so I couldn’t totally see the results of it. my skin is very dry and somewhat sensitive but this year once I started working out I started getting a little acne on my chin here and there and ended up using something from proactive with A LOT of retinol that ABSOLUTELY destroyed my skin barrier.

my skin on my chin was chapped, insanely dry and red and after that acne started popping up everywhere on my chin, but not like regular pimples. they were huge and dry/cyst like. I started using harsh products and oily skin face wash to get rid of it (i’ve never had experience with acne so in my mind acne=oily skin) but little did i know it was because my skin barrier was so destroyed and dried up that THAT was the reason for all my breakouts! I decided to stop with all the harsh products and start from the basics with gentle, moisturizing products again.

my skin was definitely thanking me for it but still had a small amount of acne on my chin. after applying hydrating toner and serum I would apply this product for my acne. my skin has been clearing faster than ever which shows me this product is not too drying and the perfect formula for my skin to help with my acne but also keep the skin moisturized.

my skin barrier is still a work in progress lol but this product has been a lifesaver for me. not too much or too little, but just right for the dry/sensitive skin breakouts!.

I have very sensitive, oily, acne prone, rosacea skin. So it is imperative that I scan the ingredients of anything that comes near my face. I have been in search of a summer time moisturizer, and this fit everything I was searching for (just wish it had sunscreen).

The ingredients seemed minimal and not harsh or comedogenic like most moisturizers. When I received it, I was a little surprised how little was in the bottle (you cant open the top, but you can feel it).

The pump dispensed a fair amount of product easily, and it glides right onto skin. It also is fragrance free and absorbs immediately. Unfortunately, it didnt really hydrate my pretty dehydrated skin, and also left my skin feeling greasier than usual a few hours later.

So unfortunately, for the price tag, I was not sold.

The name says it all, oil free and ultra light. I love the after feel of this moisturizer in my skin. No oily feeling at all. It keeps my skin hydrated. I also love using this before I get dressed because i don’t feel like i would get my clothes oily like some cream.

Okay, first of all, let me say how much I love this brand so when I was recommended this product I had to give it a try. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. My skin is oily on some days, dry on others, and normal some days but always sensitive.

I normally used the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. Now this moisturizer feels nice, cool and refreshing, it’s light and goes on so smoothly but it did not provide me with any added benefits as opposed to the Cetaphil I normally use.

I liked it but the price tag is pretty high to not dramatically change my skin. I don’t think I will be repurchasing. One odd thing about this is that sometimes I would feel a mild stinging sensation, especially after a deep exfoliation or use of acne spot treatments.
