Oily skin is most commonly caused by an overproduction of sebum from the sebaceous glands. Sebum is a waxy, oily substance that helps to keep the skin moisturized and protected from environmental stressors.
The sebaceous glands are located in the dermis, the middle layer of the skin, and are connected to the hair follicles. When these glands produce too much sebum, it can build up on the surface of the skin and clog the pores.
This can lead to the development of blackheads, whiteheads, and acne.
The mineral make up for oily skin should be one that can help to control the production of sebum and keep the pores clear. There are a number of different minerals that can be used for this purpose, including zinc, sulfur, and kaolin clay.
Zinc is a mineral that can help to regulate the production of sebum and keep the pores clear. Sulfur is another mineral that can help to control sebum production and keep the pores clear. Kaolin clay is a type of clay that can absorb excess oil and help to keep the pores clear.

100% color match guarantee HOW TO USE Apply evenly all over face with Blending/Contouring Brush or Flocked Sponge. Finish with Amazing Base or PurePressed Base for sun protection.
I’ve been using JI pure pressed base for many years (LOVE!), and have tried this liquid minerals several times. I am attracted to it because it’s lightweight, good for my skin, serum-like, and popular.
My stumbling block is that the little bubbles are hard to “crush” and blend completely. I don’t love using a brush to apply because most of the product absorbs into the bristles = wasteful. I dispense product onto the back of my hand, “smooth & crush” the beads, and apply with my fingers.
I use the pure pressed base on shiny areas afterwards. The finish then is beautiful, but I’m not sure I’ll prefer this on the daily over just the pressed minerals base. I will likely just use this liquid on occasion.
Color matches my complexion perfectly (neutral, medium skin with olive undertones= Suntan). It feels nice and light, and very moisturizing. The downside is I find it difficult to blend into my skin– either directly on top of my moisturizer or over the Smooth Affair primer.
I use fingers and brush recommended and still find it a little streaky as well as settling into my pores (not the look I’m after!). I will keep it for when I want a more formal, made up look, as I think with adding a setting powder it would look pretty good.
But, definitely won’t be using for everyday wear. I really want something more subtle and “no make up” looking. Does not irritate my super sensitive skin.
The lightweight formula includes papaya extract to improve your skin texture. Use for normal, combination, and oily skin types. Bamboo extract delivers a blurring, soft effect and Mineral Lock Long Wear provides for 24 hour coverage.
This exceptional foundation blurs imperfections and evens the texture of your skin.
Wow. That’s all I can say. Pros- – wide color range with pictures distinctly labeled warm , cool, neutral, making it very easy to find your perfect color – unlike most long wearing foundations, this doesn’t look chalky, thick, or mask like.
It ends up looking like skin not like a thick layer of makeup applied to your face. -I have combination skin that’s very easily dried out and then gets flaky and oily, I bought a dewy setting spray from Walgreens to give this a nice satin finish.
If your skin is normal you will probably get the satin finish from this alone. Ten years ago I tried the bare minerals powder and a tube lipstick that was shown. I did not care for the lipstick, it went on with an uneven texture, didn’t have a nice finish, and didn’t wear well.
The powder foundation was much too yellow and didn’t look nice on my combination skin that’s often much to dry for anything other than a cream. You guys have really stepped it up with bare pro and the mineral liquid lipstick! Blown away by the color selection you offer that includes everyone.
It is so frustrating when a brand does not even make a color that works for you. I am fair and cool, there’s a lack of these shades in the market. The shade shell matched perfect.
The circumstances for when I first got this foundation we’re totally a coincidence. I had gotten a BareMinerals gift of another one of my favorite products in a shade that was too dark. Prom was also coming up and I needed a foundation that would keep me matte and look good in pictures.
So I went to the BareMinerals store and asked if they had any matte foundations, to which I discovered this. Never have I loved a foundation more. I have combo oily skin and this keeps me so so matte, but with a perfectly natural finish.
The way my skin looks in this is like a “your skin but better” product. My oily mother normally sticks to the products she’s used for years, but the minute she tried this we both had to run out and buy it for our summer and winter shades.
It’s AMAZING!! I couldn’t even understand why it didn’t have all 5 stars, but I’m assuming that it is probably a better foundation for oily skin (like most matte foundations are). I use this on top of the Combo Control Milky Face Primer also by BareMinerals, and the compliments for perfect skin don’t stop coming (and I have some major acne scarring, so I’m far from perfect😭).
I had a severe allergic skin reaction to two different medications that left tons of underlining health issues for me. I always had great complexion my whole life, clear and no redness. I wore foundation for fun and mostly light powder for everyday.
Feeling self conscious of my skin for the first time in my life at 27, I’m 30 now; I had tried about everything. Got to the point where I had to change everything I used, skincare, haircare etc. Anything I used in the past started to burn, itch, make the blister reaction come back angrily.
After a suggestion my dermatologist made to try bare minerals I haven’t looked back this is the only thing I use for foundation now. My skin actually stays pretty clear now partially thanks to this product and the way it blurs any scarring or imperfections I have now is amazing.
I cried the first week I used this and everybody tells me that my skin looks so much better and healthy! I still have the reaction come back but this doesn’t aggravate like other foundations do. After a year of use this will be staple for years to come!!.
Inspired by the iconic bareMinerals loose mineral foundation, bareMinerals ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Foundation SPF 20 is a clean, vegan foundation shown to visibly improve skin’s texture and reduce the look of pores both instantly and over time.
The next-generation formula, made with 88percent naturally derived ingredients, features a Healthy Mineral Complex to refine skin, Olive-Derived Squalane to nourish and hydrate and Peptide and Prickly Pear Extract to reduce the look of pores and redness.
All bareMinerals products are 100percent cruelty-free and free of parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, chemical sunscreens, triclosan, triclocarban, propylene glycol, mineral oil, coal tar and microbeads.
This product is also vegan and formulated without gluten, talc, synthetic fragrance or silicone. Plus, it is dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. How to use: Shake the bottle well before applying.
Dispense two pumps onto the back of your hand for medium coverage. DOT to distribute with your fingertips onto your cheeks, forehead and chin, or anywhere you’d like coverage. SWEEP with your fingertips to smooth using small, outward strokes.
PRESS to perfect and blend. For foundation brush users, after you DOT, SWEEP with the brush to smooth using small, outward strokes. Then PRESS with your fingertips to perfect. Repeat to build coverage.
Claims: Improves skin texture – I dont know if I would necessarily say it improves texture but it doesn’t emphasize or cause my skin to look more texture than it is. Reduce look of pores – I actually think this is pretty accurate.
I didnt find that my skin looked like I had visible pores, TAKE THAT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT I tend to only have noticble pores around my nose and on my nose. And my pores are not pronounced. Reduce visible redness – I would expect that of literally any foundation.
I think this claim is kind of a no duh kind of statement. I wouldn’t expect a foundation to NOT reduce visible redness, so I dont get the idea that this is revolutionary. Application: They recommend finger application, which i tend to hate but only because I don’t like using my fingers to apply any product.
If using a brush make sure your brush is clean and go over with tapping motions or you will see streaks. My preferred method is the sponge, the coverage goes down, but the finish is honestly incomparable.
Coverage: Medium coverage (dosagree) I think this is a more light coverage foundation at best, especially if you use a sponge (which honestly looks the best on the skin). Its buildable though and you can mix this with other foundations to get a fuller coverage.
WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU This foundation plays EXTREMELY well with others, meaning, I had no issue cocktailing and mixing foundations and other products to make this an even more enjoyable experience for myself.
I actually find myself TL;DR: I really enjoy this, I think my skin has been looking absolutely amazing while wearing this product.
Achieve a flawless-looking complexion with Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15, a full coverage foundation that delivers a natural matte finish. Formulated through a high speed cold fusion process, the long-wearing liquid foundation remains comfortable and hydrating on skin despite its full coverage finish, and contains true-to-skin pigments which reflect light to enhance skin’s natural contours and dimension.
Silky and weightless, the emulsion blends effortlessly onto skin, helping to conceal redness and discolouration, while its dose of Marine Sugar Cane and natural mineral powders control oil for a balanced-looking, mattified complexion.
Delivering a weightless, second-skin feel, the 16 hour makeup won’t crease or streak, and is waterproof and sweat and humidity resistant. Suitable for normal to oily skin. Free from parabens, sulphates, phthalates, sulphites and gluten.
When I tell you I am obsessed with foundation, I am not exaggerating. I’ve tried so many, high end and drugstore. My last holy grail was Nars Radiant Long Wear in Punjab. The one thing I noticed was that I could use a little and get full coverage, it always felt like it just would sit on top of my skin.
I have never considered Bobbi Brown before, not sure why, but I found a good match W-046, for light medium skin with yellow undertones. The finish is beautiful! I use Elf Jelly pop primer first. I then first tried to apply it with a brush, it didn’t look good.
I then tried a sponge, as that is what I use with my Nars. That took away the coverage. So, I tried my fingers, and that was the trick! I apply with my hands then I build up with a dry beauty blender by tapping/stippling it on my skin.
It’s medium coverage and builds to full. It takes a little bit for it to dry down, but not where it feels like it’s sitting on your skin. I use Bare Minerals compact mineral veil setting powder in Medium Sheer over it.
It wears long for me, didn’t look like it was that dry matte look, it was natural matt, but still radiant, but not dewy. This feels just like skin, for the coverage I get, I can’t believe it feels so light.
It’s a creamy foundation too, not watery. I didn’t look dull in it, it didn’t settle into lines, or exaggerate pores. I purposely avoid the luminous face products because it seem to exaggerate my texture, which is very light acne scaring.
This foundation does a great job at not drawing attention to it, I mostly have scaring on one cheek. I absolutely recommend this to everyone with a similar skin type as mine.
I’m 27 with good skin but with some visible exhaustion and medium (unfortunately visible) pores. Ive used Chanel foundations since I was in high school, then recently switched to Nars when my working mom exhaustion made my skin look a bit dull.
It didn’t help the issue at all. I finally found my match when I switched to Bobbi brown. I’d already used their priming moisturizer and lip gloss, and was pleased to see that I love the foundation just as much (if not more) than my fave Bobbi products.
My skin looks instantly youthful and brilliant – I’m also quite happy with the color spectrum they offer! If anyone were to ever drop the bottle, then post a repulsive photo of themselves bleeding from it, my recommendation would be to take better care of your products.
The glass bottle only adds to the awesome experience of this product, as long as you aren’t sloppy with it or trying to play catch with it. I can’t imagine why anyone would ever purchase a product for their face that comes out of a plastic bottle, but that’s just me! 10/10 would recommend! I think I’ve found the perfect foundation.
I have always struggled finding a good matte foundation becuz I’ve always been VERYYY oily my whole life but this is the one. I’ve never had a foundation match my skin tone so naturally. The foundation rlly stops me from having my face rlly oily (I’m very VERY oily).
What I love about it is that it rlly stops me from being oily for a long time, I wear it to work (8 hours) and by the end of those eight hours my face is still a TINY bit oily but this is the best foundation becuz other foundations (fenty/ urban decay/Clinique) have always gave me leaving work with a very oily face.
And did I mention it’s very light weight…. Like VERY. Out of all the foundations/tints I’ve ever worn…. this is the lightest. (I’ve worn foundation for almost 10 years now) I also struggle with acne and pimple scars and it doesn’t have full FULL coverage but it is very buildable.
And I love how it has spf so that it also helps with the acne scars. Honestly my new go-to foundation for a long time. It’s light, somewhat full coverage, matte and matte FOR REAL and the finishing looks very VERY natural.
I really hopes this helps my peeps struggling with oily face or acne scar ppl.

A dose of Marine Sugar Cane and natural mineral powders control oil for a balanced-looking, mattified complexion. Tried and tested, 96% agree that this foundation immediately left their skin looking shine-free, while 93% felt it immediately minimised the look of pores.
* Bridging the gap between skincare and makeup, this formula is also infused with Glycerine to feed hydration deep into the dermis. Helping the foundation to fuse perfectly with the skin, this douse of moisture plumps the skin to create a seamless finish.
Fuelled by a blend of skin-loving ingredients, the formula uses oil controlling actives to leave a multidimensional matte finish. Ideal for normal to oily skin. Free from parabens, sulphates, phthalates, sulphites and gluten.
I always find this such a tricky one, as I know so many people love this foundation and it works really well for them. I just find there’s just something about it that doesn’t work for my skin. I have oily / combo skin and I don’t find that it is long lasting nor helps with oil control – I find that for me I end up quite oily after a few hours wear as it’s very hydrating.
I also have a lot of redness so I like a full coverage foundation that can cover that up, but also be sheered out in other areas. I definitely find this to be more of a medium coverage on me. With all that said, I can see why some may like it.
If you’re less oily or have normal / dry skin I think this would be lovely. The hydrating elements would be great for some people, and I could see it being one of those foundations that gets better the longer you wear it.
Equally if you prefer a medium coverage – this would be a great one to try.
I’m always cautious when it comes to concealers, especially as everyone I meet who wears it seems to look flawless, but when it comes to me it’s a completely different story! Being of a “certain age” now, under the eyes is always a concern, I don’t want anything to accentuate the fine lines that are there.
Anyway. back to this product: the applicator is great, unusual in that it has a little reservoir on one side to hold the product and a very fine tip for precision application. After the initial swipe with the applicator, I tend to use my finger to dab it on and blend.
It’s very effective and actually does last all day. It seems to ‘set’ in place, but still moves with my skin. I didn’t find it settled into my creases massively either. After a minute or so of application, I gave it another dab over with my finger and that seemed to blend any little areas further.
Overall a really good product and I would probably buy it again.
It is made of pure, crushed minerals from the earth. It looks like powder, feels like a cream and buffs like silk, giving skin a natural luminosity. It feels as if you are not wearing any makeup at all, yet the coverage is flawless.
It gives you all the flawless coverage you want with a no-makeup look and feel that lasts up to eight hours. It also improves the appearance of skin over time. Bare Minerals is free of preservatives, talc, oil, waxes, fragrances, and other chemicals that can irritate skin and causes breakouts.

Reviews From Real Customers
I’ve been using Bare Minerals for about 6 years. I’ve found over time that It only works well with the Bare Minerals Primer and the Urban Decay All Nighter Primer. Both pretty costly but I think the UD one is more bang for your buck.
I notice that my acne heals up when I don’t wear it for extended periods, (when I’ve had to quarantine is when I bag to notice). Before then, I just thought it was my skin. I’ve tried countless products but didn’t realize it was the makeup I was using to cover up that acne.
Asides for that, this stuff does not last throughout the day, I almost always end up touching it up on my lunch break. And I get splotchy oily spots on my nose causing more breakouts. It also doesn’t last long, not only day to day but the life of the product is short.
I go through one of these in a few months. That means I’m spending about $160 a year on foundation. a friend of mine said her foundation is a little expensive, ($42, so about the same price) but lasts her a whole year.
I would MUCH RATHER spend $42 for a whole year and not deal with excessive breakouts, splotchy coverage, and short-lasting foundation. All in all, I’ve done the research and I am telling you don’t waste $100s of dollars on this product, or any of the Bare Minerals foundations for that matter, because I’ve literally tried all them and I’m still giving it a 1/5.
Let me just start by saying that I’ve always heard great things about bareMineral products but never really bought into the hype. However, after using this product for 2 months and seeing the difference in my skin I am in full-on hype mode! Not only does this foundation powder cover and wear well it has most definitely improved the overall appearance of my skin.
My complexion is more even, brighter, and more free of breakouts. I wouldn’t have believed that a makeup product could actually improve my bare skin until I saw it for myself but take my word for it.
This stuff works! I have been using “mineral” powder foundation for 10 years but after discovering how many toxic chemicals where in those cheap, drug store products I threw out my entire makeup and skincare collection and started all over and that’s when I found bareMinerals.
I love that their products are more naturally made. That’s important to me! I have ordered several more products and will leave reviews on those as soon as I’ve had some time to use them on the daily.
A pressed mineral foundation providing sheer-to-full buildable coverage. Oil-absorbing microspheres add moisturizing benefits so the finish is never cakey or drying to the skin. It is formulated without: parabens, sulfates, phthalates.
The Cover FX shade system is easier to follow and is inclusive of all skintones. The lower the number, the lighter the shade. Start with the N series if you’re not sure what your undertone is. If the shade looks too pink, find your shade in the golden undertones.
If the shade looks too yellow, find your shade in the pink undertones. This product is clinically tested and vegan. It is free of synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, GMOs, synthetic fragrances, triclosan, gluten, mineral oil, and talc.
I’ve always been a bit wary of cosmetic powders for I had a very well known brand of mineral powders cause breakouts on my skin some years ago. This brand however is so easy to use. I use sunscreen before applying the powder.
I then apply the makeup in minutes. I don’t have time for long, complicated routines, but I do wish to look polished. I can use this powder everyday. It does come with a foam pad, but I use a brush to apply, and it gives me a very natural look while covering the areas that are discolored or red (rosacea).
My skin is very dry and this powder does not sit on the dry patches. Ive had no bad reactions to this product, and I am usually very, very, very sensitive to cosmetics. I also love that it is in powder form, great for travel when one does not wish to cart a million products.
I received a sample of the Natural Finish Foundation in N40, but I wear P30. It was a little too dark but that was to be expected. Still, I thought it was a beautiful foundation! Well, I have a Cover Click in P40 that matches me spot on while the cream foundation in P40 is too dark haha.
I mistakenly ordered the cream and this mineral foundation in P40. Ugh, no clue why I did that, but I thought it would work out. Unfortunately, it didn’t because this powder is waaaay too dark on me and it has a tinge of orange to it-it even looks orange in the pan.
I waited for the summer to see if this would work better but I have to just chock it up to being a loss. I have loved every product from Cover FX (besides that liquid eye shadow/highlighter thing?). I love the way the shades are categorized, and I love the quality of these products.
Not everything is going to work for me, and that’s okay. I wish it would! But, this powder foundation is still a really good formula that lasts all day. This makeup is just superior to even some of my luxury brand-makeup.
I didn’t realize there was a shade match return policy thing until months after I had made my order of darker foundations, silly me.
I am so happy I finally purchased this powder! I’ve been eyeing it for a while but couldn’t find a store near me where I could swatch it. I bought it anyway – and I’m impressed! The powder is not quite super full coverage (I’d say its Medium at the most) but it’s definitely buildable.
You can sweep on a sheer layer or add on a heavier finish over foundation. And for my dry sensitive skin, it’s a dream! I’ve used other mineral powders before (was using MAC Skin Finish for YEARS prior to this) but they always were a bit cakey and drying.
This powder is ultra fine and makes your skin look pore-less. It must have some emollients in it because it’s really not drying at all. This powder + the Gripping Primer was so beautiful – no fine lines and barely any creasing! No irritation or watery eyes either.
Now all I need is the Perfector Palette to complete my “collection”.
All mineral cosmetics are not created equal! From the first moment you apply Youngblood cosmetics, you’ll notice the incredibly silky feel and polished, natural finish – it’s unlike any other makeup you’ve ever tried! Youngblood products allow your skin to breathe and won’t block pores or cause irritation – you’ll feel like you’re wearing no makeup at all.
Youngblood Mineral Makeup can be worn on sensitive or allergy-prone skin, it is vegan and cruelty free with no artificial fragrances, alcohol, talc, colours or dyes. Minerals and rich starch work together to give this pressed powder amazing concealing and oil-controlling properties.
Fine lines and pores are softened and skin is left with a smooth, matte finish.
Good seller! This is by far the best natural pressed powder foundation I have found. I have been using this powder for 16+ yrs. Excellent to hide blemishes. I started using it when I was in my 20’s and boy did it make miracles especially on the days that I would break out with a pimple.
Let me tell you not only does it cover beautifully but most importantly it looks natural and it does not look cakey. I used it on my wedding day and it was the best choice I made. Pictures look natural and beautiful.
I will continue to buy this compact, would not change it for any other pressed powder foundation. Youngblood is a very high end cosmetic line. Before it was sold on the market; the only way you were able to find this line was only through a dermatologist and boy it use to be expensive just to get your hands on these cosmetics.
It was a hard item to find because no one really new about this product unless you had skin problems. Anyhow this is a very good powder foundation for the young skin as well as a mature skin. You won’t regret your purchase! Try it Highly recommend Youngblood Cosmetics.
This is my first time using a pressed powder foundation and I love the ease of application! The sponge provided is a good size, and you can build up to a moderate coverage fairly quickly. The compact fits in my handbag nicely, and it will be perfect for touch ups.
I generally alternate between Ivory and Neutral in the loose powder, and opted for the Neutral in the pressed, because the description mentions that it is a shade lighter due to the addition of the rice powder.
It’s a good colour for my complexion. Overall, I’m very impressed with this product.
If you’re looking for a nice, light coverage by a foundation, you should try this. It’s so nice that it doesn’t seem to rub off and get my mask all funky. I’m in my 60’s and don’t want my wrinkles to look more obvious with a heavy foundation.
Glo-Minerals Protective Liquid Foundation Satin II – Golden Dark is a skin-nurturing, unique, liquid foundation mineral make-up formulation that also provides broad-spectrum UV protection for your skin.
Its exclusive blend of ingredients provide nutrients that are vital to maintaining your skin’s health while covering, correcting and protecting the skin. This product was developed utilizing natural, high-pigment minerals to deliver a high coverage foundation and exceptional smoothness and texture.
This product is suitable for all skin types, except excessively oily skin. It has been specifically earmarked for sensitive skin and skin with rosacea.
Im a fan of Glo Minerals pressed base powder foundation, however for evening I wanted something with full coverage. I have oily skin so chose this Matte Finish II foundation. There is a limited array of colours which is really disappointing for Glo Minerals.
Im a ‘Natural light’ in there pressed base but have worn the golden light as well. So I chose the golden light shade. But it is just slightly too dark for me to wear without bronzing my neck or having a light layer of fake tan on my body.
The matte finish is good, but disappointedly this product settles into my pores too much and draws attention to them. This product dries and sets quickly on the skin, so you have to work fast during the application.
It didn’t layer well for me either, as when i tried to add more product it moves the previous product around on my face and then gives a blotchy appearance.
Lovely finish, leaves skin with healthy glow. Really I shouldve ordered the Golden Fair instead of Golden Light and though Ive literally trawled YouTube and Google images to death, there are no counters in the UK or the option to order samples (I think) so shade selection will always be a bit of a gamble.
I am not pale and even in winder a bit of a light medium shade (depending on different brands) but this is slightly dark for my neck and its always nice to match the neck, however; its as though the product changes to my skin tone the longer I wear it – in fact it gets better the longer its worn – definitely triggered a Glow Minerals obsession.
Im now the proud owner of the bronzer and a different foundation with foundation brush – LOVE LOVE LOVE this company. Customer Services quick to reply and delivery was good too.
I had been using Maybelline Pure Makeup foundation for years as I’ve suffered with acne and wanted to kind to my skin but they have discontinued it, sadly. So I wanted to find something similar – oil free and light on my skin.
As a fan of mineral makeup I thought I’d try GloMinerals as it seemed to have good reviews. It gives excellent cover (moreso than the Maybelline Pure makeup) and glides on easily. The colour is just right for my skin (natural light) and it’s easy to blend.
However, the only thing is it is a bit heavier than I’m used to and feels a little pasty and thick when applied. It is also more matt than I was expecting considering it is the satin finish. But, generally I’m happy with it and so far my skin seems to be ok – no break outs or clogged pores.
This concentrated, oil absorbing mineral foundation is transfer resistant & very highly water resistant (80 Min) A tiny amount is all you need and it has a built in foundation primer for shine free, all day wear.
The formula absorbs excess shine to keep your complexion smooth with a matte finish that lasts. Provides medium coverage and SPF 20 protects the skin from the sun’s harmful rays. The ultra-matte finish is perfect for oily skin.
This product is sunscreen, concealer, and oil control in one. I have worn it (and nothing else) in summer Florida sun and found it to be an effective sunscreen. The pigmentation is heavy so it works well as a spot concealer, but will require blending for use as a foundation.
Most interesting is its oil control properties. After 4 hours of wear in South Florida summer heat (the time period for me in which my daily oil slick has deteriorated most foundations) Illuminare was undisturbed other than small beads of oil easily removed with a blotter sheet.
I attribute this to the absorbent properties of magnesium stearate (same as in Dr. Brandt’s Pores No More). I detract one star because there are only 5 colors, so if you want a shade that matches your skin you most likely will have to buy two tubes and blend them (Florentine Fair and Portofino Porcelain are closest for me; I’m a 30 Neutral on the CoverFx scale).
Illuminare provides the best coverage including a sun screen of ANY product I’ve seen on the market — specifically for those who have had either surgery or scarring of any kind. It comes in multiple colors, blends with the skin and provides true all day coverage.
very high quality ingredients NOT oil based and therefore less likely to cause blackheads or other break outs. I’ve used it for years.
Jane Iredale Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation – M12 is a delicious multi-tasking product that works as a primer, concealer and foundation. It gives a semi-matte finish and feels incredibly light on the skin.
The color can be built up depending on how much coverage you want, and it has a long shelf life. It is enriched with plant extracts that have a delicious nourishing effect on the skin, where hyaluronic acid and tamarind seeds, among other things, moisturize and increase the skin’s elasticity.
The content of peptides reduces shiny skin, giving the skin a smoother and more uniform surface. Flaxseed and celery tighten, minimizing the visibility of skin pores. The Jane Iredale Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation is available in several different tones, so there is ample opportunity to find a suitable shade.
The color M12 is dark with peach / yellow undertone.
This is an oil based foundation, and a very solid choice for someone who is looking for a light-medium coverage and who has relatively good skin. When you pump it out it had almost a whipped texture which I really enjoyed.
The color match on my skin is absolutely PERFECT and I often have a bit of a hard time getting the perfect undertone. The finish is more of a soft-matte to natural finish. I will say that it isn’t really buildable, as I found adding extra in certain places just melted into the skin and almost disappeared.
The reason this foundation gets 4 stars from me is because it is one of VERY few foundations that are completely ALUMINUM free!! It also does not contain any chemical spf which I prefer, and a lot of foundations seem to include that by default.
I like to add in a drop or two of Dermablend pigment to add a little extra coverage which works great. I have been using this for about two months now with no increase in clogged pores or blemishes on my acne prone skin.
This foundation actually contains oils that are acne friendly and help balance natural oil production. I will say it doesn’t do anything to camouflage pores or fine lines, but it doesn’t accentuate or make them worse either which can be a challenge to navigate for us with very large pores.
I actually think the finish of this foundation would also suit dry skin types due to its ingredients and overall finish. I did enjoy this foundation, and will continue my search to find a more full coverage aluminum free foundation.
Color is perfect and love the creamy feel. Have been a customer since 2000 when I first saw your line of products in my husbands Plastic Surgeons office. I refuse to use anyone else’s. Janes makeup has been known to last up to 48 hours with no problem.
Though I recommend it to everybody they always come back with”Never heard of it” maybe some form of mass mailing offer or ads would help. I live on the West Coast of USA and I will go to the distance of even looking up on the Web for a store close to them in order to personally purchase your products, fore some people want to see products first.
I thank the stars for having me see your products at my husbands doctors office and for me being curious. Thank you for 22 years of beauty.
The look is sheer and semi-matte, the feel is weightless. Trust Jane Iredale pressed and loose mineral foundation to look like your skin, only better. A foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one.
Very water-resistant and highly pigmented, with UVA/UVB SPF20 broad-spectrum sun protection. Applies evenly and easily, providing long-lasting, gorgeous coverage. Light diffusing properties make skin look flawless, healthy and younger.
Minimises pores and fine lines. Gentle, safe for sensitive eyes and formulated with good-for-the-skin ingredients. Crease-resistant and long-lasting and great for shading, highlighting, contouring and lining.
I’ve used mineral powders with SPF in the past and they’ve been too heavy, so I was nervous to try this product. I dm’ed the staff and they recommended this product and provided a color match for me (I sent them a picture for reference).
I was also nervous that the color wouldn’t work but, wow, was I impressed! Not only was the color PERFECT but the powder was light and provided beautiful, buildable coverage. On days I need less color correction, I just use less.
And on days I need more coverage I’m able to spot correct and build. And somehow this magic powder is able to provide a matte base for my oily skin and still provide a glow! This is my new favorite and I’ll definitely be repurchasing forever!.
The photo shows that the product includes the compact and the description says that it comes in a refillable compact. When I received, it was just the refill. When I alerted the company (Beauty Pro) they were rude.
I took the product back to Walmart and they said I had to return it to Beauty Pro. I contacted them and they offered no information as to how to return it. I have no confidence I’d get my refund. Product is grossly overpriced for just the refill.
I’m very disappointed in Walmart and this 3rd party vendor. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would.
I was a long time user of Bare Minerals, but their lightest shade was always too dark for my skin. I switched to Dermaflage and their lightest shade (porcelain) was almost a perfect match. However, Dermaflage is a hard brand to find and I wanted to branch out in case one day it’s no longer available.
I was disappointed when it really got down to it how few powder foundations with spf were available, let alone with a good shade selection, and good ingredients. I have pale, extremely sensitive, acne prone skin.
I’m so glad I decided to try this foundation finally (I’d had my eye on it for awhile). Shade Ivory is lighter than both Bare Minerals’ lightest shade and Dermaflage’s! Also this foundation wears better than both I’d tried previously.
I’ve had zero issues with the coordinating case for this makeup. Yes, it’s just a cheap plastic case, but it opens and shuts just fine. And people who are having trouble removing the makeup pan from it, there’s a hole on the back to push a paper clip or pin through to pop the pan out.
It’s been a long time since I’ve used this product from bare minerals, I haven’t really switch to any other finishing powders ever since I can’t cross my tried and true Laura Mercier and a couple others.
I find it hard to go out and buy new makeup when I’ve already found something that works for me and I find with finishing powder, it can really affect the outcome of the luck you were trying to achieve.
I’ve had some photos that made my face almost ghost White, others you can tell until someone took a picture with flash on, some would end up making the whole look very dry and flaky and not very natural despite using the setting spray afterwards.
Throughout my years of experience or anything with makeup, I’ve definitely gone through my fair share of translucent powder. From what I can remember, I didn’t mind the product too much. I found that I had to be very lightheaded when I came to play it over my face and had to make sure to use the spray to rehydrate my makeup through the day or night so that it wouldn’t crack.
I didn’t have to do that very often, but it definitely was haha so I forgot my hydrating face mist at home or was too busy hanging out with friends that I would forget. Keep in mind, that everyone’s skin type is different and will react differently to each and every product out there based on skin types and pH balances.
Just because the product didn’t work for me, doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t work for you. I definitely think it’s worth to try if you haven’t found what you’ve been looking for and are on a budget, not only did it last me for months but it allowed me to save up money for other things that I wanted in life that I normally would have spent on overpriced makeup or skin care products.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s new tips and tricks out there nowadays that I have yet to learn to get the most out of my setting powder.
Fairly Medium Matte and Fair Matte from bareMinerals are the best color matches for my skin that I have ever come across. The original bM foundations aren’t a match for me at all, but the Matte colors are perfect.
I have cool (pink) undertones with a lot of freckles and dark hair that give me a warm/neutral color palette overall. Most cool foundations are too pink for me and all warm foundations are far too yellow.
No one seems to make a neutral color for fair complexions. These two foundations have been my go-to’s for a decade now. I use Fair in the Winter, Fairly Medium in the Summer, and blend the two during transitional seasons as my color changes.
The finish is a soft natural-looking matte. The only thing I dislike about this product is that is does settle into fine lines. I use a filling silicone based primer and no, it doesn’t help with that.
I have taken to using a tinted moisturizer all over my face and then applying this powder foundation on top, but avoiding the areas where I have fine lines. I use a setting spray to finish. This works for me overall, though I do keep meaning to try their liquid foundations to see if they have carried over this great color match to another line that is more targeted to the age I am now.
This is my favorite foundation. I use golden medium and love the natural radiant finish, it looks like skin and makes me look 10 years younger. I’ve been using this foundation for over 12 years and would recommend to others.
I have combination oily skin so it melds with the oils of my skin nicely. I started using curology though and at times that dries out my skin which makes it hard to use my bare minerals since you have to buff the powder into your skin, and when I do that it flakes up my skin.
This is obviously a very situational problem but I’m not sure how this foundation would work for people with naturally dry skin. I’m assuming using the primer or a moisturizer might help with that. One of my favorite tings is how much it matches my skin tone, it definitely gives that no makeup makeup look if you want to just use it minimally but it does build up to full coverage and can be used as concealer with the concealer brush.
Only Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation Clearly Sand is specially developed for an unclean or oily skin. It reduces the appearance of irregularities in the skin, reduces redness and gives a matte surface.
It is light brown and gives a medium to full coverage, and you can build up the cover by adding more layers. It contains, among other things, tea tree oil, which helps to give a more clear and radiant skin.
There is a fine net over the powder that minimizes waste and at the same time makes it easy to use.
I really enjoyed this powder foundation. I recently thrown mine away due to expiration, but it was one of my favs. It goes on smoothly and lightly but very buildable. I loved the packaging too. Well designed so your brush doesn’t pick up an excessive amount of powder while allowing you to brush off as much as you like without wasting.
Lasted a long time and went on like a medium coverage with the first application.
This product is a very light powder foundation that has good coverage of the skin. The amazing thing about foundation is that it has tea tree oil which helps reduce acne and soothe the skin. When I use this foundation I forget I am even wearing anything on my face, it is so light on the skin and your skin still has that breathable feel.
The only problem someone could run into with this product is the smell, the tea tree oil smell is noticeable during application but isn’t noticeable after that. I would recommend this product to many people because many people are self conscious about acne and want to wear makeup to cover it.
However wearing makeup can make people break out even more, but this product can cover but at the same time not break out your skin.
Love how this foundation covers and blur my blemishes. And I think packaging of this product is decent. It will be more amazing if I get little more coverage with that. I will absolutely love to try more products from bare minerals!.

I’ve been using Osmosis Colour as a licensed esthetician for 8 years. Having recently closed my skin care spa, I despaired being able to purchase at my discount (due to a large order requirement by Osmosis) so I was so happy to find LovelySkin had their products at a reasonable price and with free shipping.
These are the newest packaging, too so I know I’m not getting a knock-off or out-of-date product. Osmosis Colour Press Base goes on so smoothly and, as long as I’ve taken care of my skin, never sinks into creases or cakes.
With LovelySkin’s return policy, finding your shade is straightforward and their Chat helps with any questions one might have.
I’ve been using OsmosisMD skincare for about 15 yrs and will use nothing else. I was having bad acne up into my early 30’s and had tried everything. Fast forward a few years and I started using this Osmosis powder foundation.
I much more oily skin about 12 yrs ago, and it was the best thing for my skin. The color blends naturally and provides as much or as little coverage as you need. I used a matte powder over it then, now I love the Osmosis Translucent Powder Finish, makes it look flawless.
So, if you’ve had or still have acne prone skin, have some scars and discoloration, you’ll love this foundation. I’ve used it through my 30’s and I’m nearly through with my 40’s and I still love it on my skin.
I don’t know who I tried this powder foundation. I have dry skin, and powders are not good for me. This product makes my skin look dryer and older. I guess it is my skin and not the product itself. This is a really nice company.

If you like a full coverage foundation then I do not think this is for you. I have a lot of freckles that I like to cover up and this just didn’t cover enough for me. If you are looking for a light coverage them I think this will work well.
In my experience I just was not happy with the look it gave my face and I felt that my face looked very chalky when I wore it. Like the powder didn’t blend with my face.
I have been using the same foundation for years and haven’t switched to any other brand. I tend to buy it from Ulta because I can get a better discount that I can use on other items too. It’s easy to apply, it stays on long, and the skintone matches me very well.
This super-lightweight loose powder foundation perfects your complexion with buildable, sheer-to-full coverage and a silky matte finish. The clean mineral formula blurs the look of pores, helps control excess oil, and protects your skin with non-chemical mineral sunscreen.
I recently started using this foundation and I am so glad I did! I have mild to moderate rosacea that flares whenever I use any kind of sunscreen. I decided to try this foundation because it contains sunscreen to see if it would make my skin react.
To my surprise, it didn’t! It also does a really good job of covering up the redness. If I use a concealer underneath my skin is virtually flawless. It’s also amazing at blurring my fine lines. I do have really oily skin so I have to touch up mid-day if it’s warm, but that is on par with any foundation I use.
Other than breakthrough shine, it lasts me all day long. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! And the color is perfect too. I love how it doesn’t look cakey or fake – it has a very natural look and feel. So happy I found this foundation! Tip – make sure you prep your skin well! Even though I have oily skin I still use a good moisturizer and serum to help the foundation meld with my skin for a flawless finish.
This stuff is so cool! I was worried that it would dry my skin out (I have combination skin…very dry in the cheeks, but oily T-zone, plus hormonal acne that I’m treating with dermatologist), but it doesn’t dry me out AT ALL! I just wish I had tried it sooner!! My dermatologist recommends Bare Minerals if wearing makeup at all, so 2 years ago I tried the regular loose powder.
With that, I tried so many different things to try to keep the shine down (primers, switched sunscreens, switched moisturizers, Laura Mercier powder on TOP of the Bare Minerals powder)…nothing worked.
So I finally gave in and bought this matte version, and LO AND BEHOLD, it is perfect for me! Fixed the shine/oiliness, but also doesn’t dry me out. (I do wear moisturizer and sunscreen underneath. ) It’s magic!.
Glo-Minerals Protective Liquid Foundation Satin II – Cocoa Dark is a skin-nurturing, unique, liquid foundation mineral make-up formulation that also provides broad-spectrum UV protection for your skin.
I have tried a lot of make up but the glo minerals is one of the best I have ever tried it actually made my skin feel and look healthier than before. But glo minerals is hard to find in stores and only can really be purchased online and it’s hard to determine the right shade from pictures.
But it’s one of my absolute favorite products out there but it is pricey but worth it.
The plus with this makeup is that it goes on very smooth (I use a foundation brush), and I only like that the minerals absorbed oil as I have combination skin. What was the biggest downfall is that after wearing it for four hours I could dramatically see wrinkles! And when I say wrinkles, I mean places I have never noticed wrinkles with my makeup before! It also had a bet heavy coverage feel, and I hate to feel like I’m wearing makeup.
I would not purchase again and actually returned to the salon after a week of trying.
Create a natural-looking finish with Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Compact Powder Foundation SPF 20. This powder helps even and enhance skin clarity, tone, and texture while reducing the appearance of redness.
Lightweight and breathable, it provides buildable sheer to medium coverage. With dermatologist-selected pure and gentle minerals, and an oil- and fragrance-free formula, this non-comedogenic powder is safe for sensitive skin and won’t clog pores.
I purchased this makeup and used Neutrogina for MORE than 15 years. now suddenly the last 4-5 makeup I have purchased have NO sponge applicator included. The price has Skyrocketed as prices go up and there is no way to apply it.
I am no longer going to be their customer. I will move to Maybelline or Revlon something else. They don’t care. I called the 800# 1-800-582-4048 that really did not care. Said it was to save the environment.
Yeah right. But of course they are selling a bag of sponge applicator sponges for makeup now. Thats really saving. It is a way to take the consumers money and provide a Product you cannot use. With $13-18.
00 per makeup, it SHOULD INCLUDE A SPONGE to APPLY! Listen to your customers as I am not the only person that feels this way. You lost my business and I posted on social media as well to leave you guys.
I’m really confused. People love this powder But most of these reviews are poor given the fact the applicator sponge/pad is no longer included with the powder. It is unfortunate because the applicator pad/sponge that once came with the foundation was amazing.
However, I am not reviewing the sponge, I am reviewing the powder. It is such an amazing option, not only in the drugstore world but seriously competes and outshines most of the “high-end” brands. I have sensitive skin and will break out very easily.
This powder never breaks me out. It gives me great coverage in the sun even though SPF is not included, it definitely helps. My face never burns. Maybe help from it’s ingredient zinc is to thank? The coverage is phenomenal and lasts all day.
If you have to reapply in the evening, it doesn’t cake up. Anytime I venture out to another brand I always come back to this product. No flashback (raccoon eyes) at night. Oh and did I mention, does not contain TALC.
Which is very common and listed as a first ingredient in most other brands. If you can get past spending a few extra dollars on an applicator sponge, I highly recommend! You are still saving money in the long run and in my opinion, getting a much better, healthier product.
My last compact didn’t have an applicator. I thought it must have been a mistake. I purchased a different type of compact at the same time. I just opened it. Again no applicator. I purchased another today to see.
again. I have been a long time Neutrogena customer. Yet, I feel compelled to return my compacts. The price goes up and yet it appears the company is going cheap and can’t include an applicator sponge that costs them a couple cents, at most.
I switched back after using Bare Minerals several years ago, because I liked this product’s effortlessly application, without needing other tools. The compact with applicator made it easy to travel with.
Now those reason are gone. It makes me wonder what else is being skimped on, likely in terms of quality. The package too stayed the same. I am left to believe the company is intentionally deceiving customers.
Otherwise make the package smaller, so it is obvious. Very disappointed in your company and lack of ethics. Don’t blame COVID for this decision. People don’t have to use the applicator if they are concerned about reuse.
They shouldn’t be putting makeup on a dirty face anyway. If they are, even Neutrogena can’t save them. Package size should have been reduced, or simpler yet, put a noticable disclaimer on the front. Deception creates lack of faith in your products.
The mineral powder foundation has the opacity of a classical foundation and the silky matte consistency of a loose powder. It gives a perfect even complexion with a very natural fresh, vitalised and radiant look.
It contains a high quality mineral complex of zinc and magnesium, without talc, wax and oil. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide protect the skin against UV rays. It is non comedogenic and suited for all skin types, from sensitive to oily skin.
After facial cream has been absorbed, apply the mineral powder foundation with the mineral powder brush thinly through circular motions from the exterior edge of the face to the interior to the skin.
I have oily skin and previously used bm matte in shade golden fair, which is a little more yellowish. Because of the price I switched to this and it is AS GOOD! Nothing bad to say really, keeps my oiliness in check exactly as good as the bm matte.
Oily skin is caused by an overproduction of sebum, which is a type of oil that is produced by the sebaceous glands. The sebaceous glands are located in the dermis, which is the layer of skin below the epidermis.
The sebum is secreted through the pores in the skin, and it helps to keep the skin moisturized and protected.
People with oily skin often have larger pores, and they may also have a more difficult time keeping their skin clean and free of blemishes. Oily skin is more prone to acne, and it can be difficult to find products that will not clog the pores.
The best way to treat oily skin is to use a gentle cleanser that will remove the excess oil without stripping the skin of its natural oils. It is also important to use a light moisturizer that will not clog the pores.
Exfoliating the skin on a regular basis will also help to keep the pores clear and the skin looking its best.
