Best Metro Phone Deals For Existing Customers (2024 Updated)

After continually being frustrated with Android devices for years, this phone has finally convinced me to switch to iPhone. It’s been less than three years since I bought this phone new, and updates stopped months ago.

Some might argue otherwise, but end of life for android devices comes much sooner than apple. But that’s not all. This thing is supposed to be a flagship, but has performed only marginally better than a budget phone.

It has gotten progressively worse over the past year. I don’t play graphics intensive games, but this thing struggles to run the simplest time wasters from the play store. Surfing chrome is frustrating too.

Camera isn’t much, despite what I heard before purchasing. Bottom line:In 2020 there are zero reasons to purchase this phone, considering it’s not supported anymore. LG customer service is atrocious, and their phones are unintuitive.

I’ll be getting my first iPhone soon and I have a feeling I won’t be looking back.

I can’t leave this phone with using already more than 2 years. LG signature phone works different to me with some special features below. 1. Always On Display -I use this function as clock and I don’t have to touch my phone many times to check time and some messages for me.

2. Knock on screen – knocking screen is a way easier which is hard to find in other phones. 3. Music app – no subscription or radio page disturbing like iPhone 4. LCD – I had some eye fatigue issue when I use Samsung phones.

I believe it was related to AMOLED. But this one has LCD which is comfortable for eyes. But this is also the reason I can’t switch to LG Velvet right now because Velvet seems using AMOLED. Other functions are pretty good and no problem.

The only issue to me from LG G6 is the earphone. I can’t really enjoy LG earphones which look noise cancelling style. It is not comfortable to wear long time. I use apple earphone instead.

The G6 was an amalgamation of wins, draws and loses. When it came to the core functions of the phone (making and receiving calls), the handset delivers crisp and clear sound. Calls didn’t drop and it wasn’t heavy to hold to your ear.

The dual lens camera took amazing photos. Anything I could say would detract for the purity of the images. Camera is 10/10. 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage space is adequate and can run most apps without lag.

Over multitask and you may have a few issues. The battery life. The G6 deserved better. It was so woefully underpowered batterywise. I admit to beingva moderate to heavy user of my phone but I expect to take my handset off charge at 100% before work and not need to charge it again before I get home.

Reality is that I was charging my phone by 2:30 in the afternoon. The final let down is LG’s refusal to release android (or security patches) in any type of acceptable timeframes. Overall, it can be summed up in one sentence.

Astonishingly mediocre.

Purchased the product a couple of months ago, and it has tons of things to like about it but also some noticeable flaws. The Good: 1) The design is gorgeous! I love the victus glass on the back of the phone, and the way Samsung implemented the “bump” for the large camera censors, it is just gorgeous and uniqe! The black versions look slick, the silvers look classy, and the different tones between the glass and the “bump” are really nice, yet the violet-rose gold and red-gold versions are the real unique ones, again, prettiest phones I ever saw! 2) Samsung interface is always the nicest out of the android devices 3) The battery- gets you through the day even if you game or open tons of tabs on chrome, really stands out for me.

4) Great screen and performance overall 5) phone supports wifi 6 6) Samsung Dex is pretty unique and a really nice feature Samsung should advertise more. 7) except for the camera, the S21+ offers almost the same specs as the S21 Ultra which costs way more The bad: 1) Price- The competition today is tough, and other companies offer way cheaper phones for performance and specs close to what Samsung has to offer, I still prefer Samsung as I owned plenty of their devices so far and loved them, but aside of design, it isn’t that tempting for people who consider switching from other companies.

2) The Exynos chip- in the US Samsung offers the snapdragon 888 chip, but outside the US they offer their exynos chip which is not really that great, it isn’t as good performance wise, consumes more battery, and gets way hotter, and therefore after some time during heavy loads the devices gets hotter and slows down a bit.

Next generation of Exynos should feature AMD Zen 2 graphics which should be epic, but the current Exynos chip is a a little disappointing. *Most people won’t really feel the difference* 3) Heat- just want to repeat it, the device gets way hotter than I feel comfortable with during gaming or heavy tasks, both the screen and back are seriously hot.

*Temperatures are normal during casual use* 4) The camera- the design is really good, but the cameras performance is very inconsistent. sometimes I get really good photos and videos with vibrant colors and great skin textures, yet at times they get blurry or the colors are way off.

I know it is not the S21 Ultra’s 108 MP camera, but the Iphones and others take way better photos with 12 MP cameras. I expect better at this price with 64 MP. overall I love the device yet I think people should know the pro’s and cons before purchasing.

Well I was very skeptical about switching from my Motorola to a Samsung because Samsung’s just aren’t as durable. You drop it & either the screen breaks or more often it won’t power on anymore or will only get to the startup screen & then restart (eye roll emoji) but I switched.

Sigh. Smh :’-( 1) Says it has a fingerprint sensor however getting it to actually work is virtually impossible! I’ve tried different fingers, angles, positions, times, days, moods lol heck I’ve even had other people try to see if it was just me & nothing works! Grrrr (insert angry face emoji) Was able to do 1 fingerprint however I still can’t get it to ever unlock that way.

Talk about a hassle! Plus there seems to be dead spots or something on the screen. I’ll touch it sometimes (several times) in the same spot & nothing but if I scroll & then click it works but idk maybe that one is an operator error.

It could use more storage (but I also have a lot of vids) The fingerprint sensor grrr! Wireless charging is a pain, spent $60 on a wireless charger & never use it cause it seems like no matter how I set my phone on it it won’t charge.

Did I mention how terrible the fingerprint sensor is? 🙁 Cause it is. I will say the camera is fantastic! Love it, takes great photos so many options, lenses, stabilizer, different modes, the night mode is very impressive & the zoom.

Wow! And I do like the ways you can customize it. Thousands of themes, fonts, screensavers, AOD’s. It’s also a very heavy phone! I have carpel tunnel and holding this phone hurts my hands and wrists so don’t get it if you have trouble with yours cause between the weight & the stupid fingerprint sensor you’ll regret it.

After reading all the negative reviews on this phone I can only come to the conclusion that all electronics are not equal however, there’s people that unfortunately are limited on tech knowledge as well.

Not saying im any kind of tech expert but I know enough to know expectually with phones loaded with bloatwhere it is critical to remove any apps possible if you don’t plan on ever using them. Keep adaptive brightness on at all times because the phone is smart enough to know when to dim or brighten for best viewing results.

If you keep phone clean and apps removed from back ground functioning you will be amazed on how much time you’ll get with battery time. I can get a day and a half up to 2 days with moderate use and than some.

So just keep in mine that even though these phones are smart their not going to have terrific battery life out of the box. They must be configered according to use and demand depending on personal preferences.

If you compare these Samsungs to iPhones that have minimal configuration abilities they go much longer hands down and I can back that information because Ive had almost every Apple iPhone known to man and many many Samsungs as well and rarely have I seen an iphone with better battery life than an Android phone.

It all comes down to how it’s configured for the user. This Samsung S20 FE is one of the best phones ever built for the price that i’ve ever seen. There are faster Samsung phones but not with better battery life.

Hope this helps people when there reading the reviews on this phone because they can be very conflicting and some better not said in my opinion. Excellent phone for people on a budget or prefer not paying tons of money for a phone that still performs well with good battery life.

I bought this for my 87 year old father who had seen mine and liked it to replace his flip phone. He was having a hard time seeing the small screen on the small phone. In the mean time he had bought another “smart phone” that was much more difficult to use.

When he got The Samsung SGHT599 he was able to learn to use it in a fairly short amount of time. I bought my phone because it was a Samsung and in the past I have always had good luck with there products.

This time was no different. I like it because it’s smaller than a full size smart phone but still easy to read and easy to use and has all the features of a full size smart phone.

Only had the phone a week and bought used. The internet and netflix is fast -4G. My last phone had 3G. The phone touch response is slow though. I tap on the screen and it makes a bubble noise acknowledging the tap, but then there’s like a 5 second delay before the phone responds.

Also, my last phone (Motorola Cliq) had a FM receiver chip, and this one does not – so if I want to listen to radio I have to stream. The battery life is pretty good though. I was listening to I-Heart radio for like 4 hours and battery only dropped like 30%.

My last phone would only last 20 minutes.

This is my second Samsung Exhibit. Wi-fi and bluetooth functions failed on the phone it replaced after about two years of use. Battery life is average. for the form factor. With light use, battery will usually last 8-10 hours.

heavy use cuts that figure by 50%. Phone is not large, but display is pretty easy to read. Title says it all.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this tablet specifically because it was advertised as being able to increase internal storage via SD Card. We just reached our 32gb limit of internal space and purchased an SD Card.

Turns out you can only store photos etc on the SD Card. I already pay for cloud storage for those things so the SD card was a waste of money. Our 32gb internal storage was used up really quickly with apps/games for both my son and I.

None of which can be stored on the SD Card so now we have a tablet that wont hold all the apps/software we need and I’m not sure what to do. I’m constantly having to delete apps so that I can download the one I need, then deleting that app after using it so I can download the app I deleted in order to use that.

I looked over the advertising again and it’s very misleading, the wording implies that the SD Card works as an extension of the internal storage, I couldn’t see it mentioned anywhere that it only applied to certain types of files and not software.

The tablet even has the option to move apps to the SD Card, but when I do that it doesn’t change the storage totals and never actually appears on the storage list for the SD Card, it is still listed under internal storage but with a note that its on the SD Card.

I’m furious that I spent hundreds of dollars on a device that doesn’t do what I need it to. So if you are considering this product because of the additional storage capability, make sure you take stock of exactly what type of storage you need and whether it can be stored on the SD Card.

If not you will need to purchase one with larger internal storage.

Natuurlijk mis ik enkele gebruiksmogelijkheden van mijn digitale camera (gebruik van statief, tijdopnamen, wendbare monitor t. b. v. extreem lastige opnamestandpunten, enzovoort). En o ja, je kunt er bijvoorbeeld ook mee telefoneren, filmpjes en tv-programma’s bekijken, muziek beluisteren, je bankzaken regelen (digitaal betalen), tekstberichtjes sturen, contact met je vrienden onderhouden, email verzorgen, al je bestanden toegankelijk houden, je foto en boekenbibliotheek (lezen gaat ook heel goed) voortdurend en overal beschikbaar houden.

Kortom, de A52 is een volwaardige GSM en uitstekende camera in een! Nóg een heel groot pluspunt: de meeste data (adressen enzovoort) kun je probleemloos overzetten vanuit je iPhone! Há, en ik ben verrast over de puike batterij! Bij normaal gebruik is laden pas na drie dagen nodig.

IšverstiShow in original languageI ordered this phone online and when it arrived, I found that it was only at 56%. No problem, the description said a charging cable is included. Well, no. Instead, there was a USB-C to USB-C cable with no plug for the wall and no way to use an existing plug because they all use the old USB.

So now I have a half-dead phone and no way to charge it. Fine, I figure I will at least activate it. I followed the directions to install the SIM card and called the phone number to activate. I go through all the prompts, and it says the new phone is activated and to turn off the old one.

Except, the new phone isn’t activated. Thirty minutes later, the screen is still showing “activating device, this may take a few minutes. ” I try calling the number back and it says it can’t activate the device and to talk to customer service – only to find out they are closed until the next day.

I try to use my old phone, figuring that since the new one isn’t working maybe the old one is but no. I now have 2 worthless phones. Thankfully I have a landline or I would be stuck with no phone at all to try to call back to activate this dud.

Hopefully it isn’t completely dead by tomorrow because I can’t charge it since there is no charging cable. I really regret getting this phone. It’s bigger than I expected as well, and so heavy it feels like I’m lugging a brick.

Reminds me of those old cordless phones that almost broke your wrist when you lifted it.

I have purchased nothing other than Samsung phones in the past and I must say that this LG G8x is a great phone, and just might have opened the possibility of upgrading to another LG in the future. Purchased from amazing wireless and it arrived in perfect condition, even sooner than the expected date listed.

I finally traded up from my lg envy to lg g8x. The sound is excellent the screen much bigger and it still feels like LG products I like. I like the size, a bit smaller than other cell phones which is nice.

If you are considering the g8x thinq also checkout the g8 thinq because you might find that it is all you need. I love the phone.

This is a great cell phone with ALL the Perks! My wife just LOVES IT!! The Best “Price” was a No Brainer (I got the Dual phone to go with it) at a LOW cost also!! Could not ask for more!!

It didn’t give up. Recently switched to new a20some weird things i’ve noticed: The gaming fps seems to increase a lot when you have your brightness at the minimum, why can’t it be high all the time – the bluetooth connection definitely varies when hooked up to different devices – having power saver mode on dosen’t help much – it can freeze for up to 5 seconds at a time (not that often though).

overall: Reliable mid price phone, not the best for gaming but good for essential functions. Do not buy if you want a good camera. Do buy if you are looking for a starter android for your kids. Would reccomend an iphone se over an a20 – worth it for the 1080p 60fps camera, home button, storage, and battery life.

I bought this phone in July 2020 as my first brand-new phone for $200-$250 and an upgrade from a hand-me-down S7 Edge. At first this was a huge upgrade because the screen was huge (6. 4 inches) compared to the S7 Edge (5.

5 inches). Its battery was better than the S7 Edge by ten-fold as I did not charge this phone overnight every night. The A20 has the same amount of storage so that wasn’t an issue at the time. Over time I started to notice performance issues, especially with multi-tasking and CPU-demanding apps.

Storage began filling up after one year of use and the phone became a pain to use on the regular. You can expect lag if you have more than two apps open at a time. I would spend a little more money for the A42 or A52 to get a MUCH better phone that will last longer.

I am currently looking to upgrade to either of these phones or an S21 FE to get a phone that will last. As a student I need to multi-task easily so this is not the best choice for me. Overall, if you want a phone that works for more basic functions and for cheaper, go for the A20.

It’s very similar to my 4 year old Motorola g7 only it has the android 10 update. Screen is barely larger just taller by a tiny bit. If I knew that I would never have bought it even for the $70 it cost me.

I paid $40 fir my moto 6 same memory and didn’t have to struggle with Samsung’s BS account which won’t even let me sign in so I just reset it and skipped everything, not even using it now, will be selling it and getting a new tablet like I should if done to begin with.

Battery ran down faster than my 10″ tablet with a 4g sim while snapping pictures all day and selling on offer up. Don’t let them fool you, they claim long usage, half a day and it needed a charge, my tablet would go nearly 2 days with the same use and a way easirrr to work with screen.

Camera seems to be better than the tablet and the motor even though they have same Pixel count. Moto can is hard to use constantly changing every time it’s touched. I don’t see how they can get people to pay so much for phones? The tiny differences are so slight and most features are simply useless or too involved to bother learning.

Do much easier to simply use a good DSLR camera and transfer high quality pictures to the tablet and sell than trying to work with a phone and waste so much time trying to get a perfect shot. This phone is worth the $70 I paid but nothing special, battery dies quick screen is in s useless skinny tall format, which I don’t see why they would even bother making it like that other than to be able to post a larger number for screen size, (it worked on me so I guess they accomplished the task.

Oh don’t plan on actuslly bring able to hear anything through the speakers, maxed out and I couldn’t even tell if the video had sound or not until I put my ear up the phone in a quiet room. You get exactly what you pay for and nothing more it just depends on what you plan to do with it.

Make a few calls and not worry if it breaks it is lost then it’s perfect.

Ive had this phone for a little over a week, and so far I can say after years of using Samsung prepaid phones that this is the best phone I’ve ever had. The screen is nice, crisp and clear. Sound quality from the external speakers is decent, and the sound quality in calls is amazing.

Apps have run pretty seamlessly, and even though I havent used it much, the 2 apps at once feature has run well. Battery life has been quite impressive so far, and it is quick to charge. Also in a rarity with prepaid phones that aren’t iPhones or Galaxies, Wal-Mart actually has cases and accessories.

However, it’s not without some faults as well. While in the camera, there isnt anything that I have seen that shows you how many pictures you have left. Every phone and digital camera I’ve owned has shown this.

The notification LED is very small and can be hard to see at times. Also, when its charged the light just turns off, so you cant be sure its still charging. The keyboard also doesn’t always give you options, so you cant quickly type commonly used texts.

It also doesnt autocorrect very well. Overall, its a good phone for the price. It may not have as many bells and whistles as the $500 smartphones out there, but if you want a good smartphone without breaking the bank, take a look at this phone.

I bought this because I love my Stylo 2 but the Stylus finally broke after years of faithful service and the battery wasn’t staying charged as long. I also wanted the removable battery which stopped after the Stylo 3.

This phone is just like my Stylo 2 was. Only thing I don’t like is the screenshot is too hard to take. using just the power button and 3 selective presses. Other than that, its a home run!.

I got this phone because the screen on my iPhone went out it’s 3rd time and I was tires of fixing it!! I just needed something quick, but yet affordable, to use for the time being. Only cons is I DID NOT receive the pen for the phone, the volume is extremely low, even on high, and it takes FOREVER sometimes for the screens to refresh or upload.

Other than that, it’s a phone to use if you need one for the moment.

Do not buy this phone unless you want charging issues down the line. When I initially got this phone in June 2020, I thought it was the best phone I’ve ever owned. I’ve been since proved wrong. The charger that came with it came paired with a travel adaptor and a cord that was type-C on both ends since i bought it off amazon, that charger stopped working in less than a year.

After that, I switched to a standard Samsung charger and the charging port has since decayed. I have to force the USB C into the port to get a stable charge, and not even that works most the time. I have to not touch the phone or the cord since the slightest wiggle will disconnect the cord.

I shined a flashlight in the port and there’s little to no lint/dust buildup so it’s a wear and tear of the port after not two years of owning the phone, and that’s not even all the issues I’ve had with it, that’s just the main issue.

It has become a chore to charge the thing and it won’t last a full day on a full charge anymore. Disappointing that I paid $400 and its already starting to fail. Think I’m done with Samsung, going with a different brand when i do decide to get a new phone.

I bought this phone, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the best variant of their 2022 flagships, a month ago and I absolutely love it. It’s the best phone I’ve ever had, and that does sound cliche, but I will explain why I say this.

Samsung is a consumer electronics company that’s been around for over sixty years – it’s absolutely clear that they know their material. Their camera features which they’ve built into this device are absolutely above and beyond what I’ve seen on other phones, and even other dedicated cameras! I believe I read that consumer electronics companies (maybe it was just Samsung themselves!) decided that the best camera a consumer has is the one that is on their person at all times – Samsung most definitely follow this philosophy closely.

The cycle for taking a single, simple yet extremely high-quality, high-resolution (nominally 4000×3000 pixels – depending on color range and variety going up to six megabytes) picture can be completed in maybe five seconds depending on how long it takes to line up the shot – a grid and AI can assist with this – but if you can spare 15, you can make a Single Take session, which captures multiple photos and videos from different angles.

And there are professional features included which I have not yet explored. The customization afforded to the user compared to my previous phones, which due to their operating system have been comparatively locked down, is absolutely overwhelming.

I don’t believe I’ve discovered half of what this phone can do at its core, and I’ve got a while yet, I suppose, before I do. From motion wallpaper, custom icons and sounds for each app, multiple home screens and widgets, to varied ways to navigate the phone’s interface – including eliminating the navigation bar and going full gesture mode on the full display – you’ll never lack ways to make this phone your own.

Samsung also have you covered with this phone if you use a computer heavily! If you use Windows 10 or 11, you can use their app called Phone Link, together with the Link to Windows feature on the phone, to send and receive messages, make and receive calls, look at and transfer pictures, and stream the screen wirelessly! The best part of computer integration is this: There is a feature called DeX, for Desktop eXperience, which describes it to a tee! Download the special app on Windows or other platforms, connect via a USB-C cable, USB-C to A cable or (most conveniently) wirelessly, and you have a whole other operating system overlaid, but integrated with the host! Here, the potential for interoperability is greatly increased, and some phone apps have greatly expanded UX (User eXperience) if used on a desktop – many times you can access their tablet interface or even other special functions! Bottom line – get this phone if you want a full exploration of all that consumer mobile devices can do, and many things you didn’t even know were possible on handheld devices!.

I purchased this as an upgrade from an iPhone 11 Pro Max and was really optimistic. Overall it really is an awesome phone and it’s a beast but I decided it’s just an ill fit for my day-to-day routine.

Formerly I owned a Note 8 and thought the world of it and figured I would continue the trend of jumping back and fourth between Android and Apple just to enjoy the latest and greatest. Refinement is something Apple is really good at and I decided to return the s22 Ultra.

I knew I would essentially start off at square one with configuring the phone with all my log in information, apps among other things and I truly love how customizable Androids are; something Apple is YEARS behind on.

If you’re a regular Apple user you probably will want to just stick to Apple products — ease of use, Apple ecosystem and reliable performance. The s22 Ultra had very splotchy voice quality during phone calls and kept cutting in and out of every call I made, apps were crashing frequently and I only had it for less than a week.

Just getting into the phone felt like a chore compared to my iPhone with the thumbprint reader being inconsistent and biometrics not being as refined as iPhone. The video and sound quality were excellent as well as the camera, that’s a huge plus to me.

The S-pen I’m really going to miss (I broke my original one for my Note 8 years back and never replaced it) and think it’s something that makes Samsung really stand out for productivity. Also while the s22 Ultra is wicked fast, I don’t really see how it’s much faster than most newer phones these days including my two year old iPhone.

The battery life on the s22 for it being a brand new phone is atrocious even with power saving options. I never go without charging my phone daily anyways but I wasn’t optimistic at all for how long it would last down the road considering most phones if not purchased outright come with a 36 month agreement.

Opening some apps I actually thought my iPhone was faster, honestly. Overall, great phone with appeal but if you’re just a regular iPhone user and not super concerned with customizing your phone, don’t waste your time.

The s22 Ultra was a return for me and I went back to my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I bought this phone 4 months ago and from the first day, I have had issues with it. I thought at first it was just from the updates or something as it would do random updates at any time it chose for the first week.

However, it has continued to do this even now – the phone will freeze and not load the home screen after unlocking it. You swipe and none of the apps or widgets appear. There is no lock code to process yet I am forced to restart it every time this happens.

Although intermittent it is extremely frustrating. As well the camera is affected by this as to when it actually takes the photo and loads it – there is a pretty good delay and you honestly wonder if it even registered your request – by then, you have missed the shot.

The “sport” mode sucks and I have more blurry and pixelated photos than ever. The lens cannot handle any sort of light glare and they have a terrible quality/zoom when inside apps such as Snapchat. Overall, the processor and camera is extremely poor on this model compared to others on the market.

I had hopped for better after switching from another manufacturer to Samsung but now I’m thinking that wasn’t a good idea. I expected this from my old phone that I had for a few years but not a new one.

The price point is okay but you get less than what you pay for and nice they include a headphone jack still which is where it earns a star in the features from me.

I purchased this a few months ago looking for an affordable alternative to Samsung’s S flagship line. Today, I was listening to spotify on my phone, I put my phone on the desk, leave, come back, and now the screen is black with a portion of the screen displaying a bright white line (right hand side).

Any attempts to hard reset, I am greeted with the initial startup screen, then the vibration signaling it’s booted to OS. I hit the power button, still, same thing. I plug it in, attempt the same thing,.

power + volume down button for 10-15 seconds. I am instead greeted with the charge percentage, accurately showing me how much batter there is left. Outside of these two screens, I cannot use this phone anymore.

Countless forums have 0 visibility into this issue, it’s not physical damage, because I even purchased a USB-C to HDMI adapter, and no dice. The phone is incapable of booting to safe mode because I must be able to interact with the prompts on the home screen after the power button and volume up is held.

I cannot turn on file transfer mode for USB cables to troubleshoot it from the command line on my windows computer. I cannot find any software available to factory reset this device anywhere, not even Samsung offers this.

I spent over 300 dollars on a phone that is now a paper weight.

When I bought this phone, the major selling points were the brand (Japanese engineered) and the phone specs (quad core ARM cortex processor, 1. 5 RAM, 8gb ROM/Storage total with an SD slot. While the camera was a downgrade from my older, 2nd hand HTC sensation, for $99 and no contract, there was really nothing to complain about.

Switching to a phone that was not rooted was surprisingly not too bad. The default launcher is okay, though I quickly installed novalauncher so that I could fit more icons on each homescreen. The phone performs well, is plenty fast enough to play racing games (although a phone is not really the best platform for racing games) and I can use it in the shower, which is also handy I guess.

I was initially disappointed by the battery life (less than a full day after I had installed my favorite apps) but all I had to do was change a few settings (I think disabling the pre-installed facebook app helped too) and now the battery life is pretty good.

The speaker built into the phone is actually quite good for a mobile, especially a cheap one. The only complaint on that is that it sounds a bit muffled, but this helps reduce treble a bit and also causes some vibration of the phone when the volume is all the way up.

This has the benefit of making bass more audible when the phone is farther away compared with other phones. I will also note that while the phone is well built, the finish does scratch easily I’ve dropped it a couple times and while it hasn’t missed a beat, it does show signs of wear around the front corner edges.

The hardware buttons (volume rocker and unlock) are responsive and have a good feel but are very easy to press. I did find that I was unlocking the phone in my pocket when I first got it, which made it warm and drained the battery.

I quickly came up with a workaround that involved adhesive backed rubber and sent Kyocera a facebook message about the “issue”. All in all, I think it would by very hard to find a better phone for less than $100.

It may not be high end, but it’s competitive with mid range phones at a low-end price point, and all of my interactions with Kyocera after buying the phone have been pleasant and helpful.

We were very excited when the Kyocera Hydro Life was added to T-mobile’s mobile phone lineup. The phone has numerous cool and useful features and is a competitive smart phone for the price. The main draw backs are the slightly outdated operating system, terrible battery life and the inadequate internal memory (8GB of ROM).

The phone’s features are numerous and it looks like it will be a fantastic phone for the price. on paper. When we received the phones we quickly encounters its numerous flaws and shortcomings; I bought one for myself and one for my teenage son.

Within 2 weeks we had to return my phone and exchange it for another because it just stopped working. Over the next two months both of our phones began having serious problems. This phone is plagued with glitches that quickly make using it a nightmare.

It drops calls, it restarts itself over and over. all day long, during use and while in rest mode, the outdated operating system hogs up most of the internal ROM and it has difficulty writing to an add on micro-SD card, it gets very hot while in use and quickly over heats and shuts down, missed calls and text messages often show up hours after they are sent, it isn’t shatter resistant (one drop and the the beautiful display on my son’s phone was totally shattered), etc, etc, etc.

Thank god for service plans which I highly endorse if you purchase this phone. The worst thing is this phone has awesome potential and nearly all its flaws could be corrected by simple software updates.

There are scores of complaints about many of these issues on the web but none have been addressed by Kyocera. I wrote to Kyocera personally and never received a response. This phone has the potential to be great, especially for the price but until Kyocera commits to updating the system and fixing the numerous software glitches and defects this is not a phone I would recommend to anyone.

The only good thing is that the service plan I purchased from Walmart has been great about the replacement of both phones. We received a free prepaid label for UPS and received our Walmart gift cards within 36 hours of dropping off the phone with our local UPS provider.

I wanted to love this phone and did love it for a couple of weeks but the troubles start early and don’t stop until the phone either dies or becomes impossible to use. Buyers Beware!.

I helped my wife and my sister in law purchase this phone and both have been very happy with it. I was very excited when this phone came out as it is the first lower end phone that is waterproof and drop resistant.

For a low end phone the specs are pretty darn good and the phone performs as good if not better than my Galaxy S3. The only real negative to me is the picture quality is not as good as the samsungs, nor does it have the best face camera feature only found on the samsung phones.

Other than that I think it is equivalent if not better, and a whole lot cheaper too! It is faster and more responsive than my G S3 too. It has 4G, but I don’t think it has as many frequencies as higher end 4G phones have, so the S3 may have it beat here.

The battery life is phenomenal. My wife usually charges it once ever 2-3 days, and the battery just lasts. I have been very impressed, as my Samsung S3 has to be charged 3 times the amount hers does, even when the usages are similar.

I read on a review for another kyocera phone that turning off the continuous refocusing improves the phone quality and it worked. Before I did this it would snap a decent picture and then save a blurry one.

very annoying. But after changing this setting the frustrations went away and I would say it is a respectable camera. Since we fixed this I would say the camera quality is now acceptable and appropriate for the cost of the phone.

I am really glad that Walmart started carrying lower end water resistant phones for Tmobile as it seems Tmobile was stubbornly refusing to do this despite other carriers doing it. I really hope that water resistance/proof and drop resistance starts being a standard on cell phones as all too many go to the landfill because of them not being able to hold up to water.

And no we have not tried dunking ours, we are glad to know that it is there if it accidentally falls into water, or our 1 year old pulls it off the table and decides to suck the life out of it (literally).

Sadly both of these events is what caused the demise of some of our other phones and why we want more durable phones in my family! The rice bag trick works. but not indefinitely!.

As someone who has never used a smart phone until now, I would say this is a fairly good one. It depends on what your needs are. I just wanted a phone that is easy enough to learn to use. (My old flip phone was actually fine.

I just had to change it because the cell phone carriers were phasing out the 3G phones so my flip phone would no longer work by March 2022. I didn’t get another flip phone because the ones that were available didn’t have much to offer and were worse than my flip phone.

So basically I was “forced” into getting a smart phone. ) The iPhone SE seemed the easiest to use because of the home button. It was also smaller and more lightweight than the regular smart phones. I won’t give it 5 stars because comparing to my old flip phones the battery doesn’t last anywhere near as long.

It also doesn’t come with the charging adapter, just the cable, so you have to buy the charger separately. It is very cheap of Apple to make their phones like this. It doesn’t come with instructions either (another cheap move) so you will spend time googling stuff online if you have any questions about it.

I am not tech savvy at all so I did a lot of that the first 2 weeks. If you just want to talk, text, and take an occasional photo, this phone is okay for that. I found the video to be poor quality when uploading it to a computer but maybe I just can’t figure out the right setting for it.

That’s why I wish it came with detailed instructions. The iPhone SE is pretty good for a first smart phone and more affordable than the regular iPhone so I’ll give it that. But it is not for everyone.

My parents for example could never figure this out and would have to settle for what ever flip phone is available these days. I would actually give it 3. 5 stars if that was an option.

I got the SE 2020 after my iPhone 7 I owned for three years started acting strange and gave up on me. It took five months to get a new phone and when I got the iPhone SE 2020, I’m absolutely happy with it.

This thing is incredibly inexpensive and had a home button like my old 7 which is nice. I don’t mind the SE 2 not having 5G since that’s less of a concern to me. My 7 doesn’t have 5G either but I certainly don’t mind it since it has LTE which still gets the job done.

Battery life seems pretty decent to me too. The camera got a nice quality but then again, I’m really not much of a photographer and I rarely take photos with it. Not sure about gaming which I don’t play often unless I’m bored or if I have free time although I’m thinking getting a decent tablet for gaming.

And the best thing is that my SE 2020 is on MetroPCS which has decent and excellent service in my hometown whereas my iPhone 7, which is on AT&T, has very terrible signal; I could barely get any bars on it when I’m using my 7.

But when I’m out of the house and went to the park yesterday, my SE 2 got a pretty great service (it has like three or four bars) so that’s nice. The only issue is that I wish my SE 2 had 128GB of internal storage for reasons but other than that, the SE 2020 is a great phone.

It serves me well. I hope there’ll be more iPhones with home button in the future. Not everyone needs a $1k gigantic phone. (June 9, 2022).

Knocked 2 stars off (iPhone = 5 stars) because of the 3rd party conditions. The description is wrong for ‘includes:’ you do not get USB Power Adapter. You must buy USB-C Power Adapter separately ($20).

You do not get a lightning to USB cable. You get a Lightning to USB-C cable. Devices that you’re going to connect to or charge with must have a USB-C connection. If no USB-C connection, you must have or buy a USB-C to USB adapter ($20), or have a USB cable (slower charge) to then connect to your older USB-connection device.

Be warned, there’s a short time frame to activate for people w day jobs in order to qualify for the $140 promotion. Difficult to coordinate one’s schedule with their short availability of in-store personnel (3rd party/not Target) to activate the iPhone outside of Black Friday.

Call to see if person is scheduled/available in-store before you go outside of Black Friday. The iPhone itself is excellent. Because of the short time, difficult-to-find, qualified, few in-store personnel scheduled, I wouldn’t recommend unless you have the time in your schedule to meet their schedule.

You’re going to have to work for this deal.

I purchase this used T-Mobile Prism II – 4GB – Gray (T-Mobile) Smartphone for under $30. 00. This is the Best Mobile Phone I’ll had this far. My son had recently bought a new one several months prior, so, I knew a few things about it.

I’ve never thought that this phone would be so cool. P. S. I’m Loving It.

It’s a good product as it is, but it might have been released ahead of it’s time. It has a few bugs and glitches and it’s a bit slow and laggy but considering the price, it’s worth the headache. Good basic smartphone; if you just need something to keep you occupied until you upgrade.

It’s better than the Prism I. it can call, text, play more advanced play-store apps and even more than the older model could. well worth the value. Brought the product because the previous model was out of date and worn out.

Currently Samsung is offering their primary Signature (“S”) Series and during the past couple of years they’ve replaced their former budget friendly J series with the now infamous A series. The concept with the A series remains the same as with the previous J series: that Samsung wants to offer a budget conscious phone that still has plenty to offer and is plenty competitive with others (ie, ZTE, Motorola, etc) in the same price range.

Actually Samsung tends to be the premier choice for android users and has been pretty much since the beginning. If you want to see what’s great and popular about an android phone (vs an iPhone) then definitely get or at least use Samsung for proper comparison.

Don’t get me wrong, LG & Motorola are high ranking androids too, but something about Samsung’s phones are next level in terms of quality, features, performance & value. Even though most of Samsung’s competitors are often found at a lower cost there’s good reason for that.

Suffice it to say that Samsung actually lives up to the hype often associated with their name. That said, this phone in particular hits all the right notes, for a Samsung phone and any phone in general.

I’ve had their A02S and A10e phones before and was pleased with them, it’s no wonder that I’m going back to them as I once again move on to a new provider. Absolutely recommend.

Do you want a phone who’s technology and touch response is slower than dial up internet? This is definitely the phone for you! I dropped my LG and shattered it beyond repair and was informed they went out of business so I had to buy an iphone or samsung.

I hate samsung in the first place bc the technology on phones were better 15 years ago on my brick nextel I carried around. This phone seriously is worse than anyone I’ve ever had, and thats a lot bc I have adhd and love to drop and lose my phone, which is another reason I bought this bc it has a fingerprint scanner so I don’t have to remember all my 100 passwords for my kids and self.

This phone is 129$ and should be 39$ honestly. It has taken me 50 years just to write this because the keyboard is trash and it corrects normal words to something random but when I write ohone it is like sorry no way i know what you’re saying here.

plus even the keyboard spaced out max it registers the inbetween letters so just constantly fixing mistakes. I use my phone for flashcards and stuff for college and it makes me want to launch it into space every second.

TBH imma to buy another one and hand this off to my husband since I’m past the return window lol, his phone cracked a week after mine and he had an old samsung that we paid 50$ for and still works better than this horrible phone.

My husband and I bought Samsung A12 phones in May 2022 and are VERY disappointed!!! this is my third Samsung phone and I have always rated them very highly BUT this model is nothing but trouble. both phones often say they are overheating, even when they have not been used for some time and have been sitting in a cool place inside our home.

When this happens we cannot open any apps even our contacts or make phone calls. I recently went on a chat line and chatted with someone for over half an hour before they told me they couldn’t help me because they only dealt with USA.

they then gave me a number for Australia. I rang the number and spoke to CHUKKA S from Samsung Care. I was on each phone for an hour. This person got remote access to each phone and went through everything.

He then told me that my problem was our signal was too weak. It is the same signal we have always had and this has never happened before. there is definitely a problem with these phones.

I finally upgraded from my Note 10+ that I got at launch all the way back in 2019, and my experience with the ultra relative to it has been pretty positive. But while the S line has been on a bumpy road with features additions, removals, combinations, and design changes, the only thing radically different between 2019 Note and 2022 Ultra is the 44 extra pixels of height on the display.

It’s the same boxy design (which I like), the same curved sides (thankfully much less intense this time around), same S pen (almost exactly the same even), and the same Samsung experience we’ve gotten used to with OneUI.

However, I am happy I upgraded, because while I didn’t gain any features, everything I had before has been upgraded and tweaked to be smoother, quicker, and more powerful. The display is much brighter, and is just as easily viewable outside on a bright day as it is inside at night.

The battery, while I’ve heard it’s lesser than the S21 Ultra, is still miles ahead of the 5-6 hours my Note was left with by the time I upgraded (I had never replaced the battery), I’ll easily get 8 or 9 hours off a full charge and I’d consider myself a power user with many background apps as well as processing heavy daily tasks.

S Pen thankfully has all of the features it did before, I’m one of the few who finds practical use for Air Command when watching YouTube propped on a table and don’t need to reach my arm across to skip or change the volume, and especially when taking photos from distances or if I need to hold a specific angle and tapping the shutter button would ruin it (I can’t be the only one with that problem right?).

Speaking of photos, the cameras live up to the hype on this year’s Ultra. I’d heard complaints and gripes since the S20 but when I finally jumped it seems Samsung has ironed out most of those. Point and shoot picture taking, without any fancy zooming or photo modes, is class leading, and while you lose zoom options in the true 108 MP mode having a photo with a ton of detail can be cool and enhance it in most situations.

Wide angle is basically perfect, with the great color and detail persisting across the lenses, and the zoom is mind blowing and very freeing. The best uses I’ve found for the zoom are wildlife or nature photos, where you can frame something exactly and get it in crisp detail.

Zooming up to 60x is usually the most you’ll get away with, although I’ve managed to get a couple stunning shots at 100x, which is impossible on my brother’s S21 Ultra. The night mode is so good it’s almost a catch-22 (pun intended), if you take a picture at night it’ll automatically do a long exposure night mode photo and the result just looks like daytime, complete with blue skies.

This does mean if you want to preserve the dark night look, some adjustments or post touchups will be needed, although it’s better to capture all the detail now and adjust later than to lose it all in the dark from the beginning.

A good tip for using the camera is that photos never end up how they do from the viewfinder, there’s a ton of post process done on every one (something you can turn off in pro mode if it’s not your fancy) so you might just need to take a photo to see if it’ll be good.

Video performance is pretty good but can be hit or miss, although admittedly I don’t take many videos. The same great color performance carries through most of the time but lighting can be a bit off, especially when you have a bright light in a dark room (i.

e. a TV screen in a room at night) but it’s usually taken care of with quick adjustments with the brightness slider. A good benchmark for video lighting is plays, as in live actors across a stage. Being a large dark room and wanting to capture what’s going on can be tough for a lot of cameras but with a couple taps the S22 catches up and creates a surprisingly balanced and detailed video from what would normally be very non-optimal circumstances for phone cameras.

Overall I think it’s definitely an Ultra phone, it’s got all the big numbers and lives up to them for me, even if they might not have in the device’s between my Note and now. And while there aren’t any new features compared to my Note, it doesn’t mean this isn’t the swiss army knife of phones, heck, electronic devices.

As a tech enthused type I often need to do specific tasks for this and that and in specific ways for this device or that one, and this phone works every time when I use it, although for productivity my desktop computer is my first choice when I’m home.

Samsung has made a very refined device, bringing all the best features from past devices and upgrading them to truly be worthy of the name Ultra. I’d recommend the phone to anyone looking for the absolute highest across the board, even if it doesn’t do anything incredibly interesting like fold in half or have a ring light built in.

I’ll try to make this review short and concise as there are probably plenty of detailed reviews that have been written or video recorded. I’ll try to breakdown the areas which I have a problem with after I give an overview perspective.

Overview Perspective Having not owned a Samsung smartphone in close to 10 years (my last device was a Note 3) I can see that Samsung has come a LONNNNNGGG way in improving the design and functionality of their devices.

The S22 Ultra is definitely one of the best Android devices of 2022 and with Samsung’s commitment to 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches, the S22 Ultra will be a solid device for years to come.

Area of Contention #1: Software. Touchw. I mean Samsung One UI (;-) is a MARKED improvement over Touchwiz of yore – however, it is still a fairly “heavy” Android skin that seems to still stand to be improved upon quite a bit.

I am coming from a OnePlus 7 Pro (still running the ORIGINAL Oxygen OS (11)) and OnePlus WAS known for having a light Android skin tweaked for performance and battery life. Samsung could take some direction from OnePlus for tweaking their skin for better battery life and performance and leaving the extras that they add into their deployment of Android as plug-ins or software that can be loaded from the Galaxy Store.

One of my main gripes with the software concerns Bluetooth in the following regards: 1) The BT device menu popping up EACH TIME you turn on the BT radio (it is MIND NUMBINGLY ANNOYING) 2) Not being able to see the battery life of the connected BT device directly in the status bar (as I can on my OnePlus) (and instead having to long-press on the BT icon (when the device is connected) from quick settings to see the battery life of the connected device.

This is a HUGE miss and one that should be a STANDARD for Android as a whole (let alone the S22 Ultra). I could go on and on with other little details, but overall – OneUI has much room for improvement that I hope gets better with OneUI 5 and beyond.

Area of Contention #2: Battery Life I know that there are many factors involved in the battery life of a device and that battery life is a subjective topic person-to-person – HOWEVER, the battery life for the S22 Ultra SHOULD BE MUCH BETTER.

Yes, I can make it through a day on a charge (I have the charge setting enabled to limit charging to 85%) and I only charge my device when I need to and not every night (I am trying to extend the life of the battery for as long as possible).

However, with my OnePlus 7 Pro – I can EASILY make it a Day and a half before having to charge that device versus the S22 Ultra where I am true to have to top it up first thing in the morning following a previous day’s use.

I know that this is attributed to how the software and OS is optimized and there’s not much that I can do about it (other than uninstalling apps that I don’t use). Area of Contention #3: Speakers Performance.

Okay, there’s no easy or nice way to put this but. the speakers on the S22 Ultra are pure sh!t My OnePlus 7 Pro has a pair of speakers that blows the speakers on the S22 Ultra out of the water (and that device is 3+ years old!).

For a $1000+ device, I expected speakers to be top-of-the-line and competing with the speakers from iOS-based phones – but instead, they are just pure trash and that is unacceptable. If I didn’t invest so much into this device (case, screen protector, vinyl skins, etc.

) – I would highly consider trading this phone in for the new Pixel 7 Pro. I may even consider trading this in for the S23 Ultra if that device has an improvement in the speakers (volume output, better bass tones, etc.

) (YES, the speakers are THAT BAD). In conclusion, the S22 Ultra is a solid device that will MORE THAN fulfill your smartphone needs. It has areas that desperately need to be improved upon if Samsung continues to price this device in the $1000+ territory, but for the price, you’re getting a device that will serve its purpose and then some.

I purchased this with the intent to trade in my cracked N20 Ultra 5G. The phone seems solid, but there is not much of a noticeable performance difference from my N20U. The camera has improved, but the N20U no longer suffers from the autofocus issues it had upon release.

The 10X optical zoom is pretty good, but just like the 5X on my N20U, it does not appear to function like a regular camera with optical zoom—the photos taken at maximum optical zoom look nearly as grainy and pixelated as they are on the N20U.

They are similar to, but a little better than, taking a high resolution photo with the standard rear camera (not 108MP) and blowing it up on my computer. I have never had any luck with the 108MP over the standard maximum on either phone.

The screen is visibly better in appearance generally (both at highest resolution). It is also a lot brighter and can easily be viewed at the beach with the sun shining directly down on it. That being said, the N20U is bright enough to see it under those conditions.

Also, when the S22U turns on its super brightness function (I don’t recall the proper name of the feature), it washes out the screen a lot. All blacks become medium gray and the average color range is reduced significantly.

I suppose it’s better to see it this way than to not see it at all, but, as stated, I can see my N20U well enough for me. Sneaking a mere 8GB into the 128GB model was a little lame and clearly just for marketing purposes.

Memory isn’t that expensive, particularly for Samsung, this is a flagship either way. If anything, they should have stepped up the 512 and 1TB to 16, instead of reducing RAM 1. 5 generations later (N20U 128GB has 12GB).

Also, I do not think they make it clear on the website that the 128GB has less. Fortunately, I purchased the 256GB during the upgrade, so I didn’t have to contend with that. For all intents and purposes, this is just an upgraded N20U.

The professional reviews talk about latency of the pen, generally pep, camera details, night pics, etc. , etc. , but average consumers will ever notice this. The individuals reviewing in those really highlight the differences and improvements, but at a level of detail that the average consumer will never really notice.

For instances, everyone talks about the improvements with the latency of the S-Pen. I tried drawing side-by-side and couldn’t tell what was different. The night pictures are slightly better all around with the S22U, but both are sufficient, and both get the color wrong (i.

e. , if you’re going for really good pics under those conditions, post-processing is necessary). The lack of an SD card was the pivotal reason why I returned the S22U and had my N20U repaired at BB for nearly as much.

Well, and because of my final insight, below. The improvements are not noticeable enough for me to make me want to switch to a new phone and lose access to my SD Cards, which have been passed up from generation and generation and increased in capacity along the way.

Perhaps if someone intends to a lot of gaming on this phone, the processor and screen upgrades make sense, but for most people, they will not. I will upgrade if they ever add this back, otherwise, I will eventually seek out a new mfc (unless, someday, I can reasonably afford to fork over $1500 for the galaxy Fold future generation, and it includes a camera on par or better with all other flagship models.

I really lvoe the convenience of popping one SD Card out and another in, even though an SD Card is somewhat slower than internal memory. I have been a Samsung user since the 3rd generation S series (and have several other products) and am starting to notice diminishing returns year after year.

I can wait a couple generations happily with my N20U until these are improved upon (and hopefully, an SD card option comes back). I also want to see a phone with an optical zoom that works a bit better—I realize this isn’t my DSLR, but if it’s optical then it shouldn’t be limited by the sensor (I assume this is the issue, but do not know for sure.

If it’s a software issue then it needs to be corrected all around). No matter what I do to adjust it, which mode I use, or even using a different camera app, the i-phone always takes better pictures (and I do not use one regularly and am not a fan of that brand overall).

Also note, the N20U’s screen is 0. 1 inches larger than the S22U, which is no big deal, but still a downgrade in my opinion. A lot of the photo and editing features are 100% software issues and can be ported back to the N20U one way or another.

Conclusion: Not really worth the upgrade from N20U, but perhaps from other lesser models (i. e. , S20U and earlier, because of the screen and the pen for my particular uses). Oh, and “Red” = “Coral” or “Salmon”.

Definitely not red or any variation thereof (technically).

I bought this phone because it has flagship specs and–with the release of the S21–it was cheaper than even higher-end mid-rangers (read, Pixel 5). It’s a sleek and beautiful looking phone. I love that it’s thicker than phones used to be and doesn’t require a case to add bulk for it to be more comfortable to hold when I’m using it.

And the battery life is phenomenal. Overall, I’m sure all the specs are great and I love the high-end screen (that’s mostly why I wanted it), but it’s a bit long in my opinion. It’s good for fitting more icons per home screen, but it can be a little problematic when playing games.

So far I’ve only played this one trucking game I love, but I definitely find it harder to handle on this phone than on my S6 Edge because the screen is so much longer and has no bezels to rest my fingers on.

As far as streaming goes, if the phone’s too wide for the picture you just get black bars on the sides, which defeats the purpose of the larger screen. Frankly, I’d much prefer a shorter (and slightly wider) phone.

But, my biggest complaint about this phone is the lack of control I have over how the proprietary software works. Between Verizon and Samsung, the phone is full of bloatware, and deleting these apps or removing their permissions is not allowed.

Forexample, Bixby has been granted permission to use location, storage, camera, contacts, microphone and phone without any option for me to deny these permissions or remove Bixby altogether, even if I don’t use it.

It just says, “Device requires this permission to operate” for every one, which is a cop-out BS excuse by any measure, since literally every other non-Samsung Android phone can work without Bixby or its permissions.

Likewise, I use my phone on Tracfone and I periodically get a notification that the SIM card is not a Verizon SIM card. Going into this notification’s settings, the option to turn it off is greyed-out, so I am sentenced to dismissing this BS reminder every couple days for however many years I have this phone.

And Google has this annoying requirement that if you use what they term a “secondary tier authentication modality” (i. e. the fingerprint reader), every 72 hours you will have to enter your password or passcode (“primary tier authentication modality”) in order to unlock the phone, whether you want to or not, with no way to change or remove this requirement except for going with no security at all.

They say it’s for “additional security”, but that’s a BS excuse, too. Now, there is no doubt that I paid good money for this phone and I OWN it outright. As the owner of the hardware, I should have the ultimate say in how that hardware is used–not Google, not Samsung, not Verizon.

Greyed-out permission toggles should never be allowed or tolerated. I have purposely avoided upgrading to a new phone for the last few years precisely because I didn’t want to have to deal with this type of encroachment on my property rights and autonomy by Big Tech.

The S20 may be an eye-dazzling powerhouse, but it’s self-defeating shortcomings and outright disrespect of my personal space is a deal-breaker. I loved my S6 Edge, but with the changes Google has made to Android in the past few years and Samsung’s insistence on polluting my phone with bloatware, this phone has single-handedly ruined Samsung and Android for me, and I will never again buy another Samsung phone.

Maybe the Android experience is more amenable from a “less-bloated” manufacturer or on the pure-Android of a Google Pixel, but between Samsung and Verizon’s hijacking my permission controls and Google’s “Big Brother” approach to security, I think I’ll dump this phone and get an iPhone.

and I hate Apple.

So the phone has functionality that I like. Photos are good. The battery consumption is about average. App management is good. Updates have changed some functionality; that i don’t like. I also don’t like the idea of changing the appearance of icons that my mond looks for automatically after years of using and identifying them over several platforms.

There are also some functions on this phone that never created an issue for me before; this phone and only this phone has activated the emergency calling 6 times now while having it stored in my breast pocket.

And since about 3 updates ago when the major visual interfaces changed, it has started placing my calls on hold while pressed to my cheek/ear and there is no hold icon on the screen during calls. Have had it for over a year now and it just started doing this about 3 months ago after an update.

They’re going to have to do some major fixes in a near future update to win me back as a routine buyer; cut off conversations or having the local sheriff deputy show up to check on you when you’re working is not good.

I got my phone on contract and had issues from day 1. While using this phone on any app – messages, during calls, music – it would crash and freeze. Sometimes upto 10mins at a time! I spoke with Samsung who sent a ‘repair engineer’ to my house; this guy was at my house less than 5 mins and all he did was reboot the software and restore factory settings, he told me this was a common fault on this phone!! He didn’t even wait for me to turn my phone back on and check I was happy.

Still the same problems persisted only they got worse with use. In the end, Samsung agreed to collect the phone and send it to an accredited repair shop (this was a company called TMT First). They emailed me to tell me I had bent my phone and damaged the whole thing, I have my phone in a case and i look after it well so I don’t believe that to be true at all.

Repair quote was well over £500 when I can buy a new one for the same price!!! I took my phone to an independent phone repair shop who told me my phone was not bent as the LED screen would show damage to prove this.

I have only had the phone a few months and it should still be under warranty, I am so disappointed in the way my case was dealt with. It has put me off using Samsung when my partner uses Apple and has never had issues like this.

Now i am stuck paying a contract when i can’t use my phone! The phone itself looks stylish and I loved it but the quality and performance is utter rubbish! Nobody buys a phone just to look at!!!.

I agree with the review that said it shouldn’t have so many pre-loaded apps, but if you keep the data for those classes about once a week, you still have a pretty decent amount of storage. I also don’t enjoy how often everything gets updated.

Every time I look at my phone there’s at least one thing being updated, and the updates are HUGE. After a couple updates, I reset the bigger apps to the factory version, so the next time it updates there will be room.

All that being said, this phone is awesome. It’s great for watching Netflix on, which I do constantly, games work flawlessly, unless you’re battery is low, of course. Speaking of battery, the battery life is spectacular compared to my old phone.

I can stream and play games for several hours on a full charge. Just make sure you restart the phone often, because I’ve had a couple issues with texts not sending right away because I hadn’t restarted the phone in a while.

Other than that, I love this phone. It’s a great deal for the price, and I definitely recommend it.

I love HTC and was a loyal VM customer for years, but I have to say that the preloaded apps that VM installs on all of their smartphones has got to stop. This phone has enough memory for the average user, and as always you can insert a micro SD card to expand storage capacity, but the preloaded apps are so annoying and they eat up a lot of memory.

Overall, the phone itself is decent. I’d consider it a mid-tier smartphone. It doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles that newer smartphones have, but a lot of people don’t care about that. It’s a durable, attractive well functioning phone, but if you need a phone with a lot of memory, you should consider other options and like I said, there are preloaded apps (you probably won’t use em) and they get in the way.

I was looking for a phone for my 12 year old that he could use, like, and keep up with that was not expensive. He previously had a phone that he didn’t like and he misplaced it (I think got rid of it on purpose), so that he could use a phone that his friend gave him that he no longer used.

We tried to switch the phone over to my son and the phone was not compatible with the service my son has. After finding this phone on Walmart. com and taking it to my son, it happened to be the exact same phone that his friend gave him.

I had no idea. He was very excited because he can watch movies and play games on it because the screen is a pretty good size. He also answers his phone now which he didn’t do a lot of previously. I’m very satisfied.

Great if you’re coming from an 11 or below. I upgraded from my 13 Pro Max as I do every year. Needless to say I am extremely underwhelmed and pretty dissatisfied with this years IPhone. My 13 pro max was better in almost every way, battery life being the major hit to me.

No heavy gaming, streaming etc just daily text, call email etc. avg 4 hours per day screen-time. My 13 lasted almost a day and a half at this rate; my 14, I find myself needing a charge before I’m even off from my shift at work.

The dynamic island is an over marketed, over hyped piece of useless software and does not function as cool as Apple made it appear. Always on display was fun for about 2 minutes setting it up, then immediately being turned always off because it’s way too bright and sucks power like you wouldn’t believe.

All of apples key selling points are all the keys reasons I dislike this phone. Always on is a nightmare, battery life is a joke, dynamic island is useless, crash detection goes off on roller coasters, the cameras have very very little upside differences, the brightness of the screen only lasts for a couple seconds until it auto dims to conserve energy.

I also feel like the overall build quality is lacking, I purchased the phone and the Apple leather case; this being the first time I’ve ever even used a case on my iPhone. My 13 lasted a year being dropped multiple times and didn’t even have a scratch.

I dropped my 14 face down on a flat floor with the Apple leather case and it chipped the front corner. If you are coming from the 13. Don’t bother upgrading. If your coming from a 12 or below, consider upgrading to the now discounted 13.

I’ve owned and used plethora of smartphones in the past 10 years such as the Galaxy S3, S5, S8+, S20FE 5G, iPhone 12 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, my favorite phone till now was my Galaxy S8+. Unfortunately, the iPhone 12 Pro only lasted less than a year; it was one of the two most problematic phones I ever had within the past 2 years, where Apple technical support was involved.

I never had preordered a phone before and this was a first for many; also a first for costing way over $1000. Within hours of owning this device I was already recommending this to my friends, as my colleges and supervisor already ordered theirs.

Apple has outdone Samsung on this phone, even though it took them ages on getting certain features that were on my Galaxy S8+, but done so perfectly. The iPhone 14 Pro Max does feel more premium than the regular iPhone 12 Pro, and this device blows everything out the water in my opinion.

It just didn’t made sense to spend $1000+ on the Galaxy lineup when they only have internal storage and lacked expandable storage, and just didn’t feel as premium as a $1000+ device should be. Compared to the 12 Pro, this is very snappy and quick.

Display is way better. Camera definitely blows the 12 Pro out of the water when compared. The Dynamic Island just blends in perfectly unlike the notch of the 12 Pro (couldn’t watch anything in full screen).

Battery life is significant as it should last me more than the normal working day for me.

Went from a 12 pro max to 14 pro max. There is a difference ! Camera is better. Phone is smoother and faster. Dynamic Island feature…. I love it. I did however have both phones at IOS 16. 03 before I restored a backup from ITunes.

Yes I back up my phone encrypted because that is the ONLY way to have a complete and full backup to restore. Had to unpair watch and re pair to new phone. Apple Card and Apple Cash transferred and activated by itself.

Had to re pair all Bluetooth devices. Had to re authorize with bank Apple Pay. MAKE SURE you know your notes password BEFORE you wipe out the old phone ! If you don’t know it you will not be able to unlock your notes on new phone and will have to delete all and re copy one at a time from your old phone and set a new password.

Setting up new phone and watch has gotten better if you know what to do and what to look out for. Overall I’m extremely happy I made the switch. Don’t be fooled by people saying there’s no real difference.

I also used Zagg blue light filtering screen protector and Zizo bolt case. I like those cases they have a belt clip that holds the phone reliably. Comes in many colors. Is slim. Cheaper than many other case and has a kick stand in the back.

Protects well. Had accidentally dropped 12 Pro Max a few times and the case kept the phone from being damaged. Hope this helps someone !.

Design: Galaxy S22 very much looks and feels like a high-end device. The outside of the phone features Samsung’s Armor Aluminum alloy that’s been polished to a near-mirror finish, with the S22 also being one of the first phones equipped with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus+ to protect the phone from drops and scratches — both in front and in back.

To add a little spice to the mixture, the S22’s backside sports a lovely matte texture – which does a surprisingly good job of resisting fingerprints. And for 2022, Samsung also spruced up the S22’s color options with new shades of green, pink and white, along with good ole black.

Like previous Galaxy S phones, the S22 comes with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader, and after years of tweaking its algorithm and improving the tech, this time it feels seriously fast. In my experience, unlocking the phone was practically instant, and I never really ran into recognition issues unless my fingers were legit wet or greasy.

(Keep your grubby hands away from my phone if you’re eating pizza, k thnx. ) The one thing avid movie watchers should be aware of though is the color-matched frames on the pink and white models. If you’re the kind of person that might be bothered by a glint or sparkle around the edge of the phone while watching videos, you may want to go with one of the darker color options.

And while it’s not really a surprise at this point, the S22 doesn’t feature a microSD card slot or a headphone jack. With the Galaxy S line now being three generations removed from the last device to include both of those features, it’s pretty clear they’re not coming back.

Display: Samsung has had a lock on the crown when it comes to making the best mobile displays in the business for a while now. But on the S22, the company has outdone itself once again with displays that can hit a peak brightness of 1,300 nits on the S22, or an astounding 1,750 nits on the S22+.

Suffice to say any fears of the S22’s screen being hard to read even in direct sunlight are unfounded. Then, to make things look even better, Samsung created a new feature called Vision Booster designed to amp up things like contrast and color saturation in very bright or dim conditions.

While there’s no indicator or pop-up that lets you know it’s working, I found the effect most pronounced when I used the phone outdoors, with more subtle changes in the dark when compared to phones like the Pixel 6 Pro.

I found Vision Booster made dark scenes easier to parse, but even when viewed side-by-side, I basically had to press my face up against the phones to really see the differences. But regardless of where you are, the end result is a display that lives in technicolor, pumping out vivid shades and hues, along with the perfectly dark inky blacks that make OLED screens so enthralling.

Plus, thanks to a 2,340 x 1,080 resolution and a variable 120Hz refresh rate, everything from photos to gifs look sharp and crisp. Preformance: The Galaxy S22 line is one of the first phones to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which when combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (or 256GB if you opt for the upgrade) results in a phone that feels blisteringly fast.

In my experience, there isn’t really anything you can throw at the S22 that makes it even sweat, aside from stuff like hardcore multitasking when connected to an external monitor via Samsung Dex (which is still very much a thing).

And while some reports claim that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Gen 8 Gen 1 has a proclivity for running hot, S22’s built-in vapor chamber cooling system seems effective at keeping throttling to a minimum. Compared to the S21 FE, which features an older Snapdragon 888 chip, our S22+ posted scores in Geekbench 5’s Compute test around 25 percent higher (4,708 vs 5,999).

And while the gap wasn’t quite as large in Geekbench 5’s CPU test, the S22+ still posted a significantly higher single-core score of 1,213 compared to 1,061 for the S21 FE. As for wireless connectivity, all versions of the S22 and S22+ support all the important flavors of 5G, including Verizon and AT&T’s new C-band spectrum.

Cameras: After recent advancements from competitors like the iPhone 13 and Pixel 6, Samsung is now playing catchup to Apple and Google in the camera department. And while Samsung is touting a bunch of new camera features for the S22 and S22+ like Adaptive Pixel and various “Nightography” improvements, the real upgrades are the S22’s new sensors — particularly the one for its 50MP main cam.

Thanks to that significantly higher resolution (up from 12MP on the S21), photos from the S22’s main wide-angle camera are just flat-out sharper than before. But more importantly, the S22’s primary camera offers wider dynamic range and big improvements for low-light photos.

In darker scenes, the S22 uses a four-to-one pixel binning technique that combines four adjacent pixels into one big pixel, which allows for improved light sensitivity. The result is brighter photos with richer colors, especially at night.

And even though Google’s Night Sight still has a slight advantage over Samsung’s Night Mode, the S22 has seriously narrowed the gap. Elsewhere, you also get a solid 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom, the latter of which is important because neither the standard iPhone 13 or Pixel 6 comes with a dedicated zoom lens.

So once again, the base S22 is the most well-rounded camera phone for the money. And in front, the 10MP selfie camera captured crisp pictures of my face including my many pores and blemishes, though you can always play around with Samsung’s beauty settings if you want to put on a smoother face for social media.

Battery life: Featuring 3,700 and 4,500 mAh batteries respectively, both the S22 and S22+ have respectable longevity. But if lasting a long time between charges is really important for you, the S22+ is definitely the better pick as it lasted 17 hours and 33 minutes on our local video rundown test, compared to just 14 hours and 47 minutes for the standard S22.

And thanks to its 45W wired charging (up from 25W charging on the S22), the S22+ juices up way faster too. In both cases though, you’ll need to make sure you have the proper power brick, as neither phone comes with a charging adapter in the box.

I bought the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB, phone on Sunday 19th June 2022 at JB HI FI Forrest Chase. My previous phone was Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and it was a great phone, but I do miss the micoSD plus Samsung Pay does not do magnetic strip thing anymore, oh well, what can I do and/or others.

This new Galaxy S22 Ultra is insanely smooth such as 120Hz with QUADHD+. I currently don’t have a case and screen protection at all, I don’t mind if I drop this phone that cost RRP: AUD $2149, when it was released earlier this year.

The battery is a big difference such as 4500mA on the previous phone and now 5000mA, better & faster processor and efficient chip on S22 Ultra, solid built phone. Camera system is truly amazing with 4 camera at the back compared to just 3 on my previous phone.

The Camera software and hardware is much different with them both as the S22 Ultra is a whole new level with pictures and videos quality even with low light. The apps are much more stable than the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for some reason, not sure why.

This phone battery is being protected by the 85% maximum charge capacity which in terms longer battery life as well as degrading at a slower rate. Overall it is the best investment for me personally, it maybe out of your price range or if you have enough I suggest buy it.

This phone might or might not suit you, so please ask your service provider such as Telstra, Vodafone, Optus or others. If you are buying outright please ask the sales representative and ask as many questions before purchasing this product such as JB HI FI, Samsung, Officeworks, Good Guys and other retailers.

If you can please research your own as well such as reviews, canstar reviews, choice reviews, Google reviews, retailers stores reviews and others. If it is right for your needs the go ahead and purchase this Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 128GB or 256GB or 512GB or 1TB (Only at Samsung online).

Just in general please feel the phone at one of the retailers such as a demo or at their stands, whichever suits you. In terms of purchasing this product I saved approximately $524. 00 RRP for this phone, therefore I spent $1625 for the 512GB S22 Ultra.

Nice phone. Actually it’s an awesome phone, compact enough as it is considered comparable to a Galaxy S10e. However, it may not be a major upgrade from the S10e nor its predecessor Galaxy S21 or S21 FE, but it is a nice phone with a more premium look and a considerably upgraded camera.

The S22 is very similar, almost identical, in it’s physical size as the S10e; S22 146 x 70. 6 x 7. 6 mm vs S10e 142. 2 x 69. 9 x 7. 9 mm. It has 256GB internal storage and 8GB RAM, just as the S10e 256GB variant, but no external storage, such as MicroSD, no 3.

5mm headphone/audio jack, and no physical biometrics sensor. It does have a better, brighter display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1500 nits, and 19. 5:9 screen ratio, though with 425 ppi. Screen size is 6.

1 inches, which is smaller than the S22 (6. 2″) and S22 FE (6. 4″) but larger than the S10e (5. 8″). Battery life seemed to be underperforming. Even though it’s a bigger battery, battery life is slightly longer than the S10e’s.

More power consumption is partly due to the 120 Hz refresh rate screen. Its camera image quality is good overall. Good saturation though overexposure of images is present, such as more dynamic and vibrant colors where colors will look less natural, all of which is common with Samsung’s cameras, especially with a lot of software assistance on the camera.

Unlike the other variants (S22+, S22 Ultra), the S22 doesn’t have WiFi 6e. Fast charger is sold separately. (No charger is included). For in-screen biometrics, Samsung did a great job on its ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Though not as perfect or as fast as a physical fingerprint sensor, it is well above the likes of an optical fingerprint sensor. Overall, a nice phone. Processing time seemed equivalent with the S10e, at times faster and slower than the S10e.

It’s still a nice phone. However, for some it may not be a major upgrade for those coming from previous Galaxy S series S10 and later, while for some others, it may. For me at least, if the S22 came onboard with either a larger internal storage, at least 512GB, or expendable storage microSD slot, it may have been a worthy upgrade, and 5 stars.

Plus a physical biometrics sensor as its side power/lock button, would really be golden.
