There was a hole in my hair styling regimen. I had pomades that either have quite a high degree of “obvious” hold (not something I like to use every day), or more of an everyday cream that can’t hold up against strong winds (great, however, for low-maintenance applications).

The Forte Styling Cream sits right in the middle — it’s strong without feeling overly formal, yet not so light that I can’t rely on it through the course of a workday where I may have to step outside, whether it’s windy or not.

It also allows me to get my hair into a shape that I like without too much effort. The shine is truly natural — some matte products make your hair look as dry as straw.

Wry good product, works very well, easy to apply, holds great! Does have a little power floral smell kinda like grandma which makes it a little hard to blend with other products such as beard balm, beard oil, and a fragrances.

But, over all not bad! Only need just a little bit to go a long way. Size portion card is pretty Accurate. I highly recommend this product.

The effect is as described. It adds good “thickness” to the hair & also gives a nice feel to it when you run your hands through it after it’s dried. The hold is more on the low end which is expected and described to be as this isn’t a pomade or clay and is just the right amount of hold that I like for my 6 inch hair.

Overall it leaves your hair looking hydrated and overall pleasing. Doesn’t look dry or look greasy. The main reason for the 3. 5 stars is the price in combination with the amount. For the price of the product, you just really need more in the bottle.

If the amount per bottle was increased by roughly 1 to 1. 25 ounces I’d for sure give a higher rating and make this my new everyday product. Since the product isn’t a clay or pomade or things like that, one bottle of this doesn’t last long at all.

For this type of hair product you just need the amount per bottle to be a little larger for $20 (around 30$ after tax and shipping). Since the consumer who uses this will apply this to the entire head of hair to give overall “thickness” and not just apply it to the front, top, and a little on the sides like one would with a clay or pomade.

I’ve been a user of Clay for seven years and decided to try Thick because P&P hasn’t let me down yet. I have a shorter hairstyle and slightly thinning in the rear crown. The hold is lighter than Clay and this is better for more casual days when I want a little less weight and hold and still can still my hair like I want.

It leaves my hair feeling like there’s almost no product in it and it smells great! I’m almost tempted to switch to Thick full time. For those gents who want and lighter styling product, Thick is for you!!!.

THICK is awesome! Put it on damp hair. Once it dries comb it and put a little putty on it and the hair stays where you put it and it looks natural! Not all greasy and slick! Makes the hair thick and covers the thinning spots.

My husband uses this paste. It was more expensive than I thought for the size. We had bought the larger size from a salon for around the same price. I could be mistaken since I’m not the one using it.

However, from my experience, buying salon lever professional hair care products from the actual owner of the merchandise has proven to be more authentic than buying from department stores or discount retailers.

I must have missed the fine print on the size.

There is no way to mince words on this product: it is the best hair styling product on the market. It smells amazing, gives your hair volume and hold, and does not make it flaky or shiny. Lasts all day without falling and never loses the great smell.

After using this product for over a week now, I can say that I’m satisfied with the end result. The finish of the product varies based on the amount I use from(from matte to mid shine) as my hair are thin & very smooth.

using the perfect amount everyday is they secret to the perfect look. Although I would suggest to people with thin hair to use a pre-styler before this clay in order to get the best possible outcome.

I am on the fence with this clay pomade. On short styles, it can add some texture but it has a weird kinda greasy texture. My hair is pretty wavy and very thick so once I started to get length, it had issues keeping my modern pomp held up.

This one also smells bad to me and it did not hold up well for the humidity/heat. I think there are better products – especially at this price point.

For context, I have thicker, wavy hair and am generally lazy when it comes to styling my hair. Applying the product to wet hair made styling way more manageable. I erred towards using less product for better results.

Good product over all, but I prefer the pomade for my hair type (easier application, styling, tasteful shine, 3oz container vs 2. 5oz).

Of course, the length of your hair is a give or take, but I have medium hair and it is medium thick. This paste has been great for me, every day, a new girl says, “I like your hair!” I’m 15 btw. This paste is great and feels and acts so much better than gel.

Please note that best results are yielded when using it with a blow dryer.

For the past year or so I’m struggled to find a hair product like this. And I’ll admit when I was reading about it, it definitely seemed too good to be true. It goes in your hair very easily, no pulling or tugging like other products.

It’s easy to scoop out and provided a 8 hour hold easy and washes our just as easy. Highly recommend!.

I originally got this product because it was a great deal and I read a review that it was better then lange thick it cream but now that I’ve tried it I disagree that it’s better. It’s ok. I found it didn’t give my hair the volume I wanted like the lange does for me.

Personal preference I’m sure but it still gave me some and it does smell beautiful. Glad I tried it for myself.

Love! I use this daily now since receiving it in the mail. Truly thickens hair. It doesn’t leave hair oily feeling, but I try to avoid putting too much at the root in the back of my head to be safe. I pair this with the texture spray, but it is good on its own for every day use.

My (straight) hair is still able to hold a curl, too.

Shame on me but I got a bit mislead on the packaging. I was under impression each 1oz. is resealable, it is definitely not. These show up in sample bags. I’m glad they have a lot in them but it’s tough to travel with these smaller sized bags that cannot reseal.

I bought these because they are TSA and international travel compliant. If they could make a resealable 2oz. I would definitely buy more!.

Not even gonna lie, it’s my favorite pomade! I love this stuff so much! It smells awesome, and looks great! I don’t use it every day since I like to experiment with my hair, but when I want a good clean look it’s great! After you warm it up in your hands it goes in smooth and works in well with a comb.

I find it stays good for 12 hours without much care, and it’s not expensive at all! It washes out good too, and I really love it! It’s something I keep coming back to, and something I really love!.

These small packets of pomade are perfect for on the go travels. I do wish the packets were a bit smaller as this awesome product is so good that the adage “a little goes a long way” is definitely true so once you open a packet, most of the product might just go to waste.

I thought I might squeeze any excess product into an empty/partially used jar of pomade I already have. It would be so great is this pomade came in like a chapstick type form. small, portable & really suited for travel.

I have used a number of UC’s products but continue to use the Matte Pomade continuously. It has a great hold, no shine which is a huge plus. My hair is still flexible especially if during the day I need to touch it up or change the look a bit, I just add a bit of water on my hands and style to what I want.

It washes out completely when I shower at the end of the day leaving nothing behind. I couldn’t imagine being without this product. I forgot to pack it one time on a trip and I couldn’t find a shop that sold it in the area I was in and had to use a product that was recommended by a barber.

Over lockdown I grew my hair out like a lot of people and decided to go to for a traditional barber cut afterwards ending up with a slick back style. I found my existing hair products a bit lacking so decided to look into getting more professional (if you will) products.

After some research I liked the look of Uppercut’s products and also their brand ideals and after browsing their site settled on the Matte Pomade. Now that I’ve been using it for a while and figured out the best amount and application for my hair I’m really pleased with it.

It’s light and not too shiny giving my hair a natural look which I really like. It also washes out well with water meaning I don’t have to put my hair through shampooing every day but still working without making my hair greasy or limp a couple of days after shampooing.

I do find I need to hold the sides with some hairspray but that could be down to my hair or inexperience in styling longer hair (any plans for adding hairspray to your range?). Just on a side note, I was sent a really handy little guide with the product that gave scores out of 10 for hold and shine for all the styling products which was much more helpful than the info on the site in my opinion.

I think the guide being online would be a good idea. Very happy and will definitely be returning.

Smells minty fresh! Its my husband’s but I use it on my hair. It smells so good! I absolutely love this product and I use it right after the shower with damp hair. It helps with detangling. After I blow dry my hair it looked the best it had looked in ages.

Lastly, it washes out so easily. Seriously, I feel that you will not regret buying this. One last thing. I can smell my own hair when wearing the product and I the strength of the smell definitely varies directly with the amount used.

I have very fine hair, and wear it side-parted, hanging to about the tops of my ears. I’ve used many different gel products over the few years I’ve been wearing it this way, but they all looked very stiff.

It wasn’t until I found this product that I really felt like my hair looked “right”. The main ingredient in this product is beeswax (like a hair wax product), but it’s extremely thin. You squeeze it out of the tube just like a regular wax, instead of grabbing a blob of it on your finger like a hair wax.

It has all-day hold strength (including gym time) without having that greasy, too-firm gel look. I docked a star because while it looks great, it feels pretty terrible on your hands, in my opinion. Gel dries and your hair eventually just feels stiff, but this stuff never really “dries”.

It forms a hold, but when you touch it, it always feels like there’s some wax in it. At first I thought it was really unappealing, but the more I wore it, the less it bothered me. After a whole tube I’m still not fond of the way it feels, but for the way it looks I don’t mind at all.

In the end, it’s really a shame because I think Dove might’ve discontinued this product. I can’t find it at my local Walmart, and it’s difficult to find it at any dedicated online retailer. Auction web sites and the ‘zon seem to have tubes still, but how long can the supply last? I’ll miss it when it’s extinct!.

This is hands down the BEST thickening creme! I have tried high end brands like bumble and bumble down to tresseme and nothing compares to this! I had to try all those other brands bc I thought this was discontinued as I could bot find it anywhere.

I used it one day bc I was out of my regular stuff and my husband had this and now I can’t Use anything else! So glad Walmart has it 🙂 just ordered 6 tubes lol!.

So Yeah it’s no secret that some guys have thinning hair😒but my husband has shown me that you can grow and repair your own hair! He’s proof that with time, care, proper maintenance, as well as protective grooming you can restore your has without any procedures.

I have a bone to pick with Redken. I think I speak for many loyal customers when I say, you stopped making the REDKEN #Waterwax3 and rebranded it for MEN. Girls, if you check out Redken Brews WAX POMADE (not clay or cream) BUT WAX POMADE, you will see that it looks identical to the WATER WAX 3! This product was the ONLY product that would work by texturizing my waves/curls.

I loyally used this product for the better part of 10 years. Noe, while I get there are many curl products for women, and men need products too. , I begrudgingly am buying a MENS HAIR WAX PRODUCT for the lack of a replacement of the Water Wax 3.

I just wish the “Marketing Folks” at Redken would have been an loyal to their female customers as they are their “bottom line” $$&. I don’t mind using a mens product but it just took me A YEAR to run out of my #Waterwax and find a good replacement.

I am a fanatic about finding great hair styling products. I like strong hold, but not rock hard. I like flexibility that also keeps your hair styled throughout the day. This was a great choice for what I was looking for.

Easy to wash out, smells nice and easy to rub into your hands to shape that hair. I have hair that’s short on the sides and long on top (long part is pushed to one side). Cool branding/packaging too.

I had high hopes for this product because it’s redken. I have a pixie cut and like to push my hair back, almost slicked but not shiny. Literally all this did was make my hair look dirty and greasy, even though I used a tiny amount.

It had zero hold. It really weighed my hair down and took away all of the volume I worked so hard to put into it. I just all around hate this product. Returning it ASAP. Don’t recommend.

I love this Oribe dry texturizing spray, I use it every day and couldn’t be without it. I have used it for almost 10 years and can’t see that I will be changing to anything else anytime soon! This gives great volume and body at the roots and stops my long hair from looking flat at the top.

It seems to make my hair look and feel much thicker. I find I get the best results when I spray into my roots after blowdrying clean hair. It gives lots of lift, grip, and hold and as a bonus stops my hair from becoming greasy as I spray it in from clean.

My second-day hair looks great, not lifeless! Highly recommend it, even given the price tag! I have tried so many other sprays in an attempt to find a cheaper alternative but none have been anywhere near as good as this one.

I’m not a huge fan of the smell on first spray, its a bit sweet for me, but I find it dissipates after a while. Everyone always compliments that my hair smells lovely though! Also great for keratin-treated hair like mine, as it doesn’t have sulfates and other nasties that strip the treatment from your hair.

After hearing RAVE reviews about this product, I finally took the leap and purchased a small travel sized version in the hopes that it would be the answer to my miserably limp, fine hair. Although I was wowed when I first applied it, as the day wore on, I was pretty disappointed.

PROS: Smells great! I’m not as enraptured as other people seem to be with Oribe’s signature scent (to me it smells like nice salon shampoo, nothing much more?), but it does feel luxurious and clean when you spray it in compared to regular high street brands which can be a bit headachey and chemical smelling.

I tried it both in my roots and all over layer by layer) to see how it held up, and honestly – it looks pretty. It gives you a nice, messy, undone kind of look that is effortlessly ‘rolled out of bed’ voluminous and wavy.

I compared one half of my head to the other when using it, and there was a definite increase in volume and it looked pretty glamorous! CONS: You cannot. Touch. Your hair. AT ALL! Once I ran my fingers through it to fluff it up a bit more, the volume seemed to collapse and disappear ENTIRELY.

It was super bizarre – even my boyfriend (who watched me spray it in and subjected to my ‘are you SURE it’s different? Different in what way? Is it nice big? Do you like it?’) was surprised at how quickly it reversed back to my normal flat hair.

I ended up spraying the whole thing again to try and get it back to being voluminous – very wasteful and I only have very fine medium length hair! Also – it leaves your hair feeling ROUGH and DRY AS HELL.

I bundled it up that evening and when I woke up to brush my hair out, I was shocked at how horrible and rough my hair had become! I was really not impressed at all by that point – I have used drugstore products that have left my hair feeling much better and produce reasonable volume.

Really outrageous in that respect given how much Oribe charges for this. Overall, I think this is a great product if you’re the kind of person who can leave their hair alone once it’s all done up – otherwise, any touching will make the hair collapse again.

I feel like maybe this would work well with a mousse of some kind and a shine serum (Oribe has a great one in a blue tube!). However, this is a luxury product, and I should not have to purchase and invest more products just to make this work.

However, I have friends and relatives who adore this stuff and swear by it. I’d still recommend it if you’re already quite good at styling hair and you have lots of hair products already in your routine.

But for me, it’s going back to the store in a returns box!.

I highly recommend all Oribe products especially this amazing texturizing spray it adds life back to hair especially day after washing it. I first used this 10 years ago for my wedding my hair stylist used this to create my beautiful wedding hair.

I’ve been addicted ever since. I have fine hair that completely transforms with this spray. It’a volume and body that you didn’t even know your hair was capable of. There’s a reason that oribe products are used time and time again by top industry hair stylists and salons because they really work and smell amazing too.

I will continue to be loyal to Oribe and can’t say enough about all of their products. Try it you will never go back to whatever hair care products you used before.

I bought 4 American crew products at the same time to compare them, the Cream Pomade, the Matte Styling Cream, the Forming Cream, and the Defining Paste. The descriptions on the American Crew website aren’t helpful, so I am hoping my description helps.

The Cream Pomade dries quickly and dries slightly firm. It does not really hold shape but keeps the frizz down. If you rub your fingers through it, it will still keep the frizz lightly at bay. It holds a bit less than I want, but I can’t fault the product for that.

It does tend to feel lightly greasy if you don’t shower in the morning.

It has a nice smell and consistency, but I don’t like the way it dries. Especially for the price! Also a little upset about a few other things. For one, the free-gift smaller portion of the regular pomade was bad / old.

I sent a picture and complained, and American Crew was quick to try to make it right by sending a replacement. The replacement was also bad / old. Next, the shipping for these products takes too long.

This is a unique product, in that it is marketed as both a pre-styler and a post styler. What I like in particular about it is that there is heat protectant in the product (which is very different from any man’s clay, wax, paste, etc.

) With that said, I would not recommend using this as a pre-styler on damp or wet hair. The product is quite tacky and has a lot of grit to it. It will pull some hair out of your head, but it’s great for adding volume when paired with a blow dryer.

But, I would stick to something like a serum, mousse, or spray to pre-style. As a post styler, it’s great. Again, lots of volume, re-workability and a natural look. What I’ve been doing is pre-styling like normal with my own products, then adding the blumaan, and then go over areas I missed or want to smoothen with a flat iron (which is nice because the heat protectant protects the hair and helps add a little more volume).

So I really like this product. I have pretty much always stuck to matte, no shine hair products, since my hair is naturally black and also very fine, so anything with shine to it just tends to look greasy in my hair.

But I decided to give this a whirl, and I’m glad that I did. So first off, the product description is that it has a “natural” look, and it’s pretty apt, since it neither adds shine, nor mattifies. The product also claims that it’s a good pre-styler, and that it cocktails well with other products.

As for using it as a pre-styler, I did find it a bit heavy, at least for my fine hair. However, I will say that it works fantastic on its own or with other products. It’s not greasy, it’s not heavy, and it allows you to manipulate your hair without setting hard or too quickly.

The hold level is shown as being a 4 out of 5, which I will say I think is a bit off, as I would say this is a 3 going on 4. It’s best suited to messier styles, because while it will give you good control, it’s not going to defy gravity.

The scent is pretty subtle and not something you are going to really notice, for better or worse. Overall, I would have given this a 4. 5 rating, but the site doesn’t allow that, so I gave it a 5.

Styling Meraki by Blumaan (previously referred to as Original and Smooth) is a great product. For anyone familiar with Blumaan’s YouTube channel, this is the main flagship product Joe uses, and to great effect.

As described, the Meraki is amazing when used as a pre-styler and post-styler, for a variety of hair types. Joe uses it with very thick but malleable hair, and my hair is quite the opposite: thinner and stubborn, and it works very well.

I currently use it as a pre-styler, sometimes in conjunction with a mousse, and then again as a post-styler with a bit of light hairspray. I’ve also tried it in conjunction with other clays, mousses, and on its own, and it’s so versatile that it seems to just blend perfectly with whatever I mix in! As a pre-styler it’s great, as it really shapes and adds body to your hair while blow drying, and as a post-styler it’s truly amazing as the textures I’ve gotten using the Meraki have been so much better than other similar products from other brands! It’s hard to describe, but the texture it offers is really really great, while still somehow appearing natural.

Additionally, the hold lasts a long time. But I have been using it on conjunction with a light but firm hairspray to finish, just to give it that extra bit of long-lasting hold.

I have used the American Crew Fiber and Pomade. This product, the “Forming Cream” I would describe as the middle, the perfect balance. My hair is thick, somewhat coarse, yet soft. I wear my hair short, almost like a buzz and usually let it grow longer so that I can comb it over (by longer I’m talking 4-5 inches on the top, sometimes more).

What I didn’t like about Fiber is that it can be too clay like and usually made my hair too stiff. I found fiber to work best the shorter my hair was, but even then it was a super strong and stiff hold.

It was actually working as intended, but not to my liking. What I didn’t like about Pomade was the high shine and depending on how much used, greasy feel to my hair. And once again, you buy Pomade for the shine, so working as intended but not to my liking.

It is different, changed, now terrible quality. Have used for about 10 years and prior last purchase was the Elvis edition and was the proper scent and consistency. Now smells like an old lady’s, 1970s, hand lotion; smells of alcohol and bandaids.

Also has the watery consistency of cheap Jergens hand lotion, used to be a thicker, just short of paste, cream, and had a very pleasant musky vanilla scent. Spoke directly with a company rep and they denied a change, even though, it is obvious and there are multiple strings online stating the quality is diminished.

WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN! Would select “0” stars if possible.

So I’ve tried AC in the past it was Fiber, didn’t like so I moved on to another brand. Jack Black Clay Pomade, and loved it, been using for 7+ years, well it became out of stock so I decided to try AC Matte Clay & so glad I did, easy to work with, great hold, long lasting, no shine in my short choppy blonde hair, washes out easily, and w/ a nice scent, plus it doesn’t leave white flakes.

Can’t beat the price compared to JB, I’ll be a AC customer for the foreseeable future. Ulta also was great with super fast shipping and in stock items, the wife told me to check them out that they carried men’s item too.

Great product to use with American Crew forming cream. Works well to give a little hold and add some lift/volume. Definitely good for those seeking a natural look. I still add a small amount of forming cream after I add the powder.

Just a couple taps of the puck are needed. It is smaller than other products but will last as you don’t use much each time. Be sure to put the powder directly on the scalp. Works better that way.

Often times the powder has a different consistency, smell and texture. I’ve only found one salon to have a consistent product in Chicago. I thought ordering directly from American Crew would absolve the issue.

The last two boost powders I’ve order both are different. One makes me cough intensely after using.

First of all, just to make it clear, American Crew Boost Powder is definitely not the product to be used alone (I use it together with ‘american crew fiber’). At a first glance, I was really sceptical (‘powder for hairstyling, what?’), however, I was more than surprised by results.

American Crew Boost Powder just lifts my hair up instantaneously (and my hair tends to just lay ‘flat dead’ on my head), adds reasonable amount of volume. This volume even helps to decrease the visibility of my recently-appeared-and-growing bald spots.

Contrary to instructions, I use it on towel-dry hair. Sprinkle some powder (really small amounts) on my fingers and try to spread it evenly on the head. Make sure it reaches the roots! All in all, it’s my hair product of the year.

Another hit from Jack Henry! It’s a bit slicker than the Clay Pomade, and bit more of a natural/low shine finish. It advertises a light hold but for me I would say it’s closer to a light-medium hold.

I was able to push all my hair back and still mess around with it throughout the day! You can tell there’s a slight something in your hair but it doesn’t get crispy or gross feeling at all like most products.

The scent is next to unnoticeable so don’t concern yourself too much with that. Slightly less water soluble than the Clay Pomade but nothing bad at all, just means you need even less the next day! My favorite part is that it’s all natural, hair healthy, safe for the environment and I’m assuming it’s biodegradable! Great for when I go swimming in the warmer months, don’t want my hair product hurting any plant or wildlife! My hair is thick, but not dense, straight, and dirty blonde to brown.

I really liked the hair paste but compared to Jack Henry’s clay I would not recommend. The paste has less hold than the clay which is fine if that ‘s something that you need but I found that in applying the product there was always a grainy white residue.

If I could describe the look of the residue – it appeared like white sand that was very visible. My wife though that it was dandruff at one point. I would highly recommend if it weren’t for the residue but if it’s something you can get over then go for it.

I have used the Clay Pomade by JH for about 4 years now and have not once deviated from it. I recently ran out and decided to give the paste a try and I was not let down. The paste is lighter but it still somehow holds form incredibly well.

It also has a finish on the hair that leaves it looking freshly washed and groomed every time. It smells good and a small amount goes as very long way. This stuff is perfect for shorter hair and wavy hair with curls for a very clean and healthy hold.

I used to watch my Dad use Brylcreem 65 years ago and I would buy him a new tube every Christmas! I’ve recently started using myself only to realize I should have started years ago. Great Stuff and I can still sing the jingle from way back when! “Brylcreem a little dab will do ya, Brylcreem you’ll look so debonaire Brylcreem the girls will all pursue ya They love to get their fingers in your hair” How’s that for a REVIEW?.

I have used almost everything on the market to hold my hair in place but nothing works as well as Brylcreem. So glad I finally found what I was looking for all these years, and it is not greasy at all.

It holds my hair in place while still keeping it nice and soft which is exactly what I was hoping someone would make – thank you Brylcreem!.

Package has changed, but if the formula is different, Im not able to tell. Works well, dont need muchbut again I dont have as much hair as I did last time I used Brylcream. Try it, youll like it, if only for a quality small nostalgic experience.

I haven’t used hairspray since the 90s, and have mostly used Fiber-type pomades but in using these products I have found my hair falls pretty flat by the end of the day. I tend to wear my hair in a bit of a messy look and those products only hold it for so long.

Decided to give this a try as an added layer of strength and the combination works great. I style with the Fiber then once everything is in place I spray with this hairspray for an all day hold. Hair at 6pm still looks like it did in the mirror when I styled it at 7am.

It does leave your hair a bit crunchy despite it advertising that it doesn’t; but it is by no means the crunch we used to get from the 90s predecessors. The scent is light and easy on the nose too. Good product; will continue to use.

Harry’s hair spray is a great product. I typically use hair spray after styling my hair to keep it in place. Most hair sprays leave flaking or dry my scalp. Harry’s hair spray is awesome and it holds my hair in the exact way I style it and holds up through out the day.

It also does not leave any flaking after use. It has a very powerful sprayer and smells great. I would recommend this product!.

THE harry’s hair spary hold super well. It has an press button on top for easy use. The mist comes out very fine so it does not weight your hair down. I like that the hair is held in place, and does not make the hair hard.

I use it in the morning when im getting ready for work, and by 5 it is still holding perfectly. It has held up to increase and decrease in temperature change. This keeps my hair looking flawless all day!.
