20 Best Lunch Boxes For Kids (2023 Updated)

Love and highly recommend this item. Purchased this for my 4 years old son. It fit main entrees, fruit, snack, and drink. For older kid, you can add more food in replace to drink. Thermal keep food very warm per teacher feedback! No carry bag require.

Utensil sold separately that can be conveniently hang on the lunch box. It is truly an all in one lunchbox for my son. I no longer need separate containers for hot food/snack/etc.

My daughter loves this lunchbox. It’s hard to find things with actual horses and not unicorns. Also, she loved that it’s not pink! (We also have the matching backpack.)

We love this chill lunch box. I think it’s good quality. I like that the tray can go in the dishwasher. I wish the whole thing could but I understand that would mess with the seal on the compartments.

It held up an entire school year and we would have used it this year but we forgot it in the backpack on the last day of school. I will say that it is airtight because there was no smell until we found it and opened it up to all kinds of things growing in it.

Sadly we threw that one away and got a replacement this year. No complaints – just don’t forget it in your kid’s backpack over the summer!.

Please be aware these boxes are massive and rather heavy. I ordered three for my three kids. Unfortunately, the lunch box was way too big for the backpacks of my two younger children. My 4 yo bikes to preK and wears his own backpack.

It worked with the backpack of my 1st grader and he loved the bright blue color and that goes with his water bottle. He took a sandwhich, yoghurts, fruit, cheese, and granola bar to school and all stayed cool for the day.

The ice packs that Hydro Flask recommended for the box are unfortunately way too big and heavy. I tried to return the other two lunch boxes since I can’t use them. Unfortunately, Hydro Flask customer service has been unresponsive and not helpful in helping me return the items.

They don’t provide return labels and ask customers to pay for shipping themselves. Because the lunch boxes are so big and heavy USPS is quoting me $50 to return the package. And they won’t fit in a Large Prepaid Box, which is still $20 to ship.

Since Hydro Flask is not helping I either have to keep $90 worth of lunch boxes that I can’t use right now and hope I’ll use them in a few years when my kids are able to carry bigger backpacks or pay $50 shipping 🙁 So, be aware ordering these directly from this site unless you are certain you use them.

We have owned several bentgo boxes, starting with the bentgo kid. What I love about them is it makes packing lunch easy. The kids know, one section holds their protein, one their fruit, one their vegetable and one their grain.

It makes me confident that they can pack their own lunch and get a well balanced diet. The bentgo kids was the perfect size for kindergarten and below, but as we started to try to stuff whole sandwiches into it over time it eventually did crack and break.

So definitely size up rather than stuff it! Bentgo was great though and they do stand behind them for 2 years and replaced it since it was just under 2 years (they definitely aren’t flimsy but kids are tough on things!).

I love the bentgo fresh as it has plenty of room for my 2-4th graders, I even have been know to pack them more than they can eat in it. There have been 2 issues with the bentgo fresh, one has been the hinge on both of the two we own eventually broke when dropped just at the right angle.

Luckily my husband was able to fix both with baking soda and super glue which made me happy they didn’t end up in the land fill (I am sure bentgo would have helped us out with a replacement). And one of them has been going strong for over a year with this fix (the other was dropped recently).

To avoid this problem I am trying out the bentgo pop for my 3rd child. The hinges seem to be protected here so hopefully we won’t have to worry about them. And the second problem has been the dividers getting thrown away.

I love the divider and it seems to fit very snuggly, but somehow my children find a way to not come home with them. I do not know if they bang their food out when emptying them and they fall out, but unfortunately bentgo does not sell replacements.

Hopefully they will change this as they already sell replacements for utensils and other parts that easily wander away. Overall we have really enjoyed ours, they make school lunches easy and are great for traveling (car or plane) as they easily sit in their lap.

I pack a lunch for work 4 days a week. This lunch box is not only stylish, but it also functions extremely well. I own and have owned countless Dakine products. However, this is my first purchase for something that was not gloves related.

I got it because I have had such a great experience with the 5 different backpacks from Dakine. Keeps my food cold and organized.

Perfect combo with the 12L backpack Dakine is also selling here at Altitude Sports. It does run a bit small to fit a standard Hydroflask but otherwise highly recommended.

I bought this lunchbox 3 months ago for my youngest to take lunch to school. It has held up really well, even through the washing machine (delicate cycle). My only complaint is that it’s a Velcro closure.

I prefer zippers to keep all of the items contained. That’s really just a personal preference because other than that, it’s a great lunchbox. I would definitely recommend it.

My son needed a lunch bag for school. He was super excited to see the dog on this and the matching thermos. It is roomy I can fit a sandwich, bag of chips and a fruit cup in it comfortably or the thermos and fruit cup and the side pocket is stretchy.

I purchased this for my granddaughter to take to day care. I love all the accessories that match the backpack and lunch box. Her older brother has the giraffe and it has worn really well, it goes everywhere with him.

I’d recommend this product to anyone with young kids or grandkids.

This is the best lunch box. My husband and I take our lunches to work and our oldest daughter is now working in a location where it is difficult to get lunch. Also she is pre-diabetic and taking her own lunch is over all the best thing for her.

yeah I said excuse me, this is a big deal for me. I’m there number one fan! I bought clothes, shoes, boots, coats, backpacks, bedding, rugs, furniture. The quality is there and it falls short as things aren’t always perfect… they have been gracious and supportive and helping correct the situation.

I purchased 2 of these lunch boxes for my kids 6 years ago and they’re still holding up to the daily slog to and from school and other outings. As a family, we’ve taken these on almost all of our long road trips, camping, and numerous plane rides.

They’ve been cleaned in the washing machine and allowed to air dry (yes, they lost a little shape but seemed to bounce back quite quickly) and the liner has been cleaned with regular soap and water or Clorox wipes.

My daughter just called me today frantic and upset because she left hers on the metro train during her commute into the city this morning. Who knew at 17. 5 she’d have such a deep attachment to her ol’ middle school lunch box.

Even she was surprised! Needless to say, I’m back to order another one today. Luckily, they still have the same pattern. She even wants her initials embroidered again. Nostalgia and the love for this lunch box runs deep.

I ordered a new one, and it arrived with a few practical and cosmetic upgrades. But the important stuff are the same: good size, durable, and light. The handle is now a rubber-like material that makes it easier to grab and hold.

Oh, and I even use it to carry food at times. The vinyl insides are easy to wipe clean. Yes, stuff can get stuck in the corners, but it’s easy enough to get them out. It is not spacious enough for BIG lunches.

Cool lunch box that my grandson just loves. Nice zippered front pocket that holds his matching wallet. Velcro straps inside so his drink does not crush his food. Good quality zippers. Football, basketball, baseball and soccer ball on front too.

We opted to personalize the bag. The online preview looks nothing like the actual bag. Instead of yellow font on the blue background, it is a red font on the yellow/black of the bag (smaller font too).

We haven’t used the bag yet, but I wanted to highlight the fact that it does not look the same online.

The lunch box looks beautiful and is a good size. The bottle I got to match looks lovely but unusable as leaks.

Great size for my toddler’s lunch, milk container and two small snacks. I love that it has a water bottle pouch on the side and a cross body strap.

I have been buying these lunch boxes for my son for the past 6 years. They are way better than any other brand I have tried and are super easy to wipe out/keep clean throughout the year. I think we used the same one for first and second grade but he likes to get a new pattern every year.

They definitely last an entire school year + summer camp. The only thing I wish this lunch box had was a little piece of velcro on the inside net pocket to secure the contents. I added my own but I’d love to see it come standard with this.

Also, I’d love to see more plain colors; sometimes the pattern choices are a bit too out there and as he grows he wants stuff to be more plain.

This lunch box is quite nice and sturdy. It’s generously sized, large enough for older kids with bigger lunches (age 12) yet not too large for younger kids (age 7). It’s deeper than prior versions, which is great because it holds my kids’ thermoses (used for hot soups, pasta, etc.

). One small thing, I wish it had 2 zippers so that it could be zipped from both sizes to meet in the middle. The downside is that our lunch boxes got crushed in shipping because there was no sort of packing material in or around the boxes.

We needed them right away so I didn’t attempt to return, but I’m annoyed that my kids’ new lunch boxes are in worse shape than the ones they’ve been using for the past few years (also LandsEnd).

We love this lunchbox! The silicone top seals well and is easy for kids to open by themselves, it perfectly fits a sandwich (halved) then has 2 other smaller sections for cut up fruit and a small yoghurt (or whatever you choose).

I place cut fruit in a smaller inner container so it doesn’t migrate. This is my second time purchasing as my first kid loved his so much!.

Great size for lunch box. Just worried the powder coated surface will chip as when it arrive there was already a scratch in it. The colours are not overly true to picture. I find them to be dustier. Especially the rose pink.

But all in all happy and finding it a great size.

This is easy to pack, good size, dishwasher safe is the best. But if you don’t secure the lid well it can leak. Also the three compartments are designed to separate food not sauces. So they leak through to other compartments.

Not a deal breaker. I bought 2 and don’t regret it at all.

I bought this Herschel Lunch Box in May to take a lunch on my bike rides. I love that the design is wide rather than deep. I find it easier to arrange the food and my sandwich doesn’t get squished. You can’t unsquish a sandwich, believe me, I’ve tried.

I haven’t used the thin zippered pocket on the front, but it looks cool, and could come in handy. Perhaps that’s where I could put a napkin? My passport? Anyhow. These bags are all about details! Overall, it’s well made and looks great.

Great lunch bag! Big enough to fit my double level sistma lunch box and a juice box. Front zip pocket for napkins and notes. Easy to clean. Label for name. Fits in the kids youth sized backpack easily.

Arrived promptly. Ordered the galaxy and artsy block ones for my 5th grade sons. They were a bit bungee than I thought, that was ok. Would fit a drink or containers if you wanted. Sons were happy with the style and they help them find their lunch bags a lot easier.
