Loved that it has no salt but. more water than meat is why I deducted two stars. I make dog food for my dog. It would be more cost effective to buy a whole chicken and bake it, seperate portions and freeze than buy three cans of mostly water with very a little chicken for close to the same price.

I love this chicken. I think the flavor is amazing. If you don’t like chicken with a fire roasted flavor, you like it more bland this is not the chicken for you. If you want flavor this is it.

I absolutely love SPAM. It is a very diverse product that I do not think ever expires. I have opened a can that was expired more than 2 years old and it still tasted great. This version is less salty than the original.

I like the SPAM goop is less in this version compared to original. I personally like the goop on a bowl of hot rice. The color is slightly different than original, but the taste in my opinion is the same.

This is a food item that is from my childhood. It is good eaten right out of the can, but better if seared in a pan. THis is great as breakfast with eggs. Great in lunch as sandwich or with bowl of rice.

I have made stew and sushi. PRO: cost, long shelf life.

I hadn’t eaten Spam in many, many, many years. I wanted some backup meat for my pantry, so I came looking for some. The classic version was sold out, so I ordered some of this. One of the cans was dented and I could tell by the smell of fresh Spam that it was no longer sealed.

I decided to risk tasting it rather than chance letting it sit on a shelf and be SURE it spoiled. Fortunately, it was still good — and tastes even better than my memory of classic Spam, right out of the can.

My memory of the taste of Spam (usually just pan fried) wasn’t too positive, so I1 was pleasantly surprised. i had to stop myself from eating the whole can at one sitting, in thin slices. I can’t wait to dice up the rest and mix it in with some scrambled eggs — and go looking for other recipes.

I think we’ve been duped into worrying too much about fat and sodium intake. The biggest killers are carbs. (When did the “Food Pyramid” come out? When did people start becoming diabetic in massive numbers? Several years later, after the results of following the high-grain diet advice had time to take its full effect? Coincidence? Highly doubtful.

) Of course, the carbs are almost nonexistent in this, too. I will be buying more of this.

Call me crazy but I really like this stuff. I tried making a sandwich right out of the can but did not like the mushy, greasy texture. The color is off putting as well. I decided to throw the slices in my air fryer and brown them really well to hopefully reduce a lot of the grease and mushy texture.

It came out somewhat thinner, very crisp and slightly soft on the inside. I ate it on white bread with spicy mustard and it was great.

Hormel is a great brand for lunchmeat. A little pricey compared to other brands. But not to bad. I really like the flavor of this lunchmeat. Has a very nice turkey taste. I feel like the quality of the lunch meat is good.

I would buy this again. Normal is a good choice if your not sure what brand to buy.

This is my go to deli meat! I absolutely love the quality that Hormel offers. Their ” hormel naturals ” are the best deli meat I have found. I love that they come in a double pack. They taste delicious and are a great value on cost as well.

This is my favorite sandwich meat. It isn’t slimy like some lunch meats can be and it tastes just like you imagine it should. The slices are all uniform and the price is pretty good. Sometimes it can be a bit hard to find in stock, but I assume that’s because it’s a popular choice.

I like to be able to see what my food i. e lunch meat looks like before purchasing it. Now as for opening the product, there is one corner on the plastic container that is slightly larger than the other three.

This is where you pull open the package from. The package opens fairly easy. I could see it being a little hard for certain people who may have arthritis or something like that. I also notice that when closing the lid it doesn’t seal back up which is a problem in my opinion.

This container won’t keep your lunch meat fresh for long in this packaging. I also took notice to the smell. I know lunch meat isn’t the best smelling thing to begin with but the smell of this lunch meat is really unappealing.

My kids who were in the same room even said the smell was unpleasant. Now for the important part, the taste! My children and I tasted our new delifresh honey ham on it’s own and in a sandwich. We all agreed that the honey flavor tasted great on the ham.

It wasn’t too sweet like honey it has just the right amount. Nutrition wise Oscar Meyer’s Delifresh ham is a pretty healthy option for protein. 2ounces alone is only 70 calories. It’s also made with No Artificial Preservatives, No added hormones, and No nitrates or nitrites added! I definitely this that this is a great product for the whole family as a meal or snack.

Saturdays are my lazy days. If I can help it, I don’t do much cooking. However, I still like to have delicious meals. Today, we had a delicious lunch that included sandwiches made with Oscar Mayer DeliFresh Smoked Turkey Breast and Claussen Kosher Dill Pickle Sandwich Slices.

Lunch was a hit with my family! I made our sandwiches with honey wheat bread, smoked turnkey, fresh leafy green lettuce, tomatoes, honey dijon mustard, and pickles. We were very pleased with the smoked flavor of the turkey and it was sliced perfectly for sandwiches.

And, I can’t leave out the crunchy, flavorful pickle slices! What a great addition to the sandwich! I added a side of chips and fresh fruit to complete a dish that the whole family enjoyed. Oscar Mayer and Claussen helped me create a lunch that was perfect for our lazy Saturday afternoon.

My Mother never bought Oscar Mayer for me as a child. I come from a long line of Penny Pinchers who believed lunch-meat was lunch-meat. I carried this mantra into adulthood and never really liked lunch-meat because it just wasn’t quite good.

I see now after doing an #incentivized campaign for @influenster. eats and really seeing what 20-40 cents more a package tastes like, I’m hooked. The Deli Fresh line by Oscar Mayer is just one of many lines.

I typically purchase the Mega Pack, (2 -11 OZ packages ) but do not see the product, so I have this question: Why do you make the product round when you put it into a smaller sized plastic packaging wrapper which causes the meat to be rolled over on itself to fit into the plastic packaging to fit into the rectangular plastic container ? Also, because of the ultra thin slices, the material tears when trying to separate it.

Would it not be more beneficial from a cost perspective to make the material oval, I understand you may need new molds so that the material will fit both the container and the bread slice, and also cut the slice just a smidge thicker, which would save cutting time per package, power consumption, and improve the utilization of the material into the packaging containers, while performing the work more quickly? It would also allow you to sell heavier containers and make your total packaging expense cheaper per pound and improving your bottom line as you sell more meat per package ?.

I have been eating this ulta thin ham from Hilshire farms for years. I enjoy that the slices are nice and thin, so you don’t feel like you’re eating a slab of ham like on Easter. I also enjoy that it comes nice and moist in the package.

It’s never dry. Also the tuperware style container really keeps the ham contained and no smell leaks out in the fridge from it. I don’t re-use the container, however I’m sure you also could use it a few more times after washing it.

I use this to make sandwiches, ham and cheese roll up snacks, etc. I havn’t bought ham from the deli counter ever since I switched over to this.

this sausage, as well as many of your other meat products, has taken a big step down in the quality of the meat. i used to buy quite often and decided to get some last week, i was surprised. your co used to fill sausage with real meat.

meat that you could slice and eat that actually was firm and tasted like, well,,, meat. not mush. it looks and actually feels in your mouth like liver sausage. it is really awful. last month i made the mistake(i thought) of buying an off brand of beef smoked sausage and it was “mush filled.

” i threw it out then like i said last week bought yours. surprise surprise, it looks and tastes the same as the cheap one. quit saving the mush you sweep off the floor and that extra few pennies you think your going to make by selling trash.

ill tell you a lesson i learned a long time ago its called “the economy of quality” if you live by that rule people will beat a path to your door and profit will come easily, if not “all is lost” if i find that you all have improved your products i will try them again, until then i am an x customer.

I am reviewing Hillshire Farm Ultra Thin Oven Roasted Turkey Breast. This is one of my favorite deli meats. I like that it is super thin because I will put a slice of cheese on a couple of pieces and roll it up and eat it that way.

I am on a keto diet due to diabetes. I don’t eat bread anymore though I really miss sandwiches. I have tried keto bread before but they are crazy expensive and I can just eat this without bread. I will say that the only drawback to buying the ultra thin turkey breast is that it rips really easy.

We have been buying this product a couple of years. This product has recently changed. The consistency thickness of the slices has become too thick. Some slices in the pack are thin and some are much thicker than the others.

We do not like these thick slices. We understand the challenge of maybe of having not enough employees in the meat plant. But quality control is important to the finished customer product. Thanks for improving this weakness of having slices that are too thick.

We want to continue to buy this product.

For this reason, it’s also been the most difficult to photograph because I just can’t wait to enjoy the delicious meals it can create! I normally make a simple tortilla wrap but Today I had more time so I dolled it up with some romaine lettuce, cheddar cheese, avocado slices, and toasted the tortilla on the oven.

The black pepper lends just the right amount of spice. It was devine. I highly recommend and will continue to purchase this deli meat from Oscar Mayer.

I tried the honey smoked deli Turkey. I also shared some with my wife and 7 year old son. My kid liked it because it’s sweet. First, I like the presentation. The folded sheets layered on top of each other are aesthetically pleasing and make it easy to grab.

The color contrast of the caramel tinted ring against the peachy center of the slices leaves me strangely aroused, as does the product’s name. The flavors of honey and salt were balanced well with the usual flavor of processed turkey flesh.

The smokey taste is barely detectible, so I couldn’t guess what sort of wood was used to smoke the meat. I can tell from the texture that it there are not obvious muscle strands in the meat. I was happy to find that it wasn’t dry and nasty the way I remember some sliced turkey products.

This is Applegate brand and is available at almost every grocery store. Target has the lowest price. Applegate is one of the best brands out there.

This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own. Upon purchasing the Oscar Mayer Oven Roasted White Turkey, I took the product home and sampled it as a sandwich. I also tasted it alone to get the full flavor of the meat.

Upon tasting the meat itself, my first though was it had a slightly sweet taste. You could taste the oven roasted as a secondary taste upon further chewing it. Neither was over powering but balanced and very pleasing.

Nutritionally speaking it was only 30 Cal. a piece and had 3gm of protein. For me this was great as you got a good tasting meat that was low in calories. Those of us watching our weight, I could see it being redly used on a salad to increase your protein intake with very little calorie content added.

If you wanted to eat it as a sandwich it would provide protein with little calories if you watch out and not over indulge in using fatty condiments. For me the overall taste was satisfying and I could see not over indulging in condiments to cover an already tasty and delightful meat.

My overall impression was positive in both taste, nutrition and calories in proportion to the size. Honestly, one piece of this meat wouldn’t be sufficient for myself. I would use 2 or 3 piece for a sandwich.

The end results would still be positive, compared to a hamburger you would buy at a chain restraunt. The cost of the whole package of meat was also very economical and about half the price of one meal you would buy at a fast food restraunt.

I have purchased this many times. Oscar Mayer is a trusted brand I grew up with. While I have bought several of their other meats I prefer the turkey because it’s a healthier choice. It taste great whether in a sandwich or on a veggie tray.

My family and I love eating Oscar Mayer cold cuts. We purchase them frequently when grocery shopping.

I cut these up into smaller sizes and put on saltine crackers with some cheddar cheese to top them off. Great little afternoon snack. The turkey meat is soft and has a light flavor, it pairs well with a cheese that has a bit of a sharper taste.

It’s not too salty as well, so the crackers provide more of that. The meat is good quality and you can tell from its texture. Only two minor issues I had with it: first, it says re-closeable seal, but the yellow cover goes back on pretty loosely and second, it says white turkey but the color of the meat is more similar to pink like ham.

I get grossed out by pre-packaged deli meat. It’s usually slimy and tastes weird. And the sodium! I’ve been exclusively buying a fresh deli-cut DiLusso brand turkey at a local grocery store, but I survive with Target drive-up for my weekly groceries and household needs.

So, I went out on a limb and gave this a shot. There are smaller sealed packages inside the sealed-tight plastic container, so it stays fresh! There was no slimy texture at all! The taste was great. In fact, I forgot it was low sodium.

Based on the limited availability, I’m guessing others have discovered this as well. This will be my new go-to for deli turkey!.

I am a single male that lives alone, so as you can imagine, I eat a lot of sandwiches. Generally, I love everything from Target, so buying this was a no-brainer. I WAS WRONG. Upon opening this “chicken,” I attempted grab a piece and was thwarted by a thick slime.

I thought, “maybe you’re just being picky,” and tried to take a taste. That’s DID NOT work. However, on a side-note, they could market the slime as a low-cost, easily applied lip gloss. Seeing as I did not purchase this as an affordable, chicken flavored gloss, I opened the second package, thinking maybe package one was a fluke.

NO, NOPE, DEFINITELY NOT…… More slime. Major swing and miss Target.

I’m truly impressed with the Good & Gather brand. I have tried several of the products in this line and find nothing lacking. Just as good, if not better than the name brand of the same product. Ex: the blue corn chips.

(as compared to Eatin). Their guacamole is REALLY good. So, when I saw these in the lunch meat section I figured chance were high that it would be as good as Oscar Myer. Not disappointed. It was a little different, but not bad.

This is the best tasting turkey lunch meat I’ve ever had. It’s the perfect blend of Smokey and sweet. I only gave it 4/5 because it does contain carrageenan and “natural flavoring”, but until I can find something better, this is my go-to for breakfast or lunch sandwiches.

I do also wish that the nutrition facts label listed the number of slices in a serving instead of saying it’s 2 ounces. I also found it strange that the label shows 0% iron, and turkey meat does contain iron.

I assume that’s because the serving size is so small? Overall I recommend this product and I have purchased it more than once.

This is my first time ever having Oscar Mayer thick cut beef bologna, and I must say it is much different than what I’ve ever had before. first off the price going in was 3 times as much as I usually pay for bologna, but I was going to be undaunted and scared away that easily by just a few extra bucks.

it was my day, my day to try real bologna for the first time in my life. when I opened up the package I was created with a whiff of something I hadn’t smelled in a long time much like a German sausage that served raw or spread on crackers a wurst so to speak, is what it reminded me of.

as I got the first piece out I noticed there was a texture on the piece like a oil or water it was kind of slippery more slippery than I’m used to from my cheap bologna. I brushed it off it was my time to shine as I brought it closer to my mouth it started to crumble in my hands like feta cheese yet greasy.

I took off the red tape and pop the bologna into my mouth. it was missing something that really bad live on bologna alone so I went to the fridge and grabbed mustard the great equalizer usually I have a spicy brown mustard on hand but not today so I’m going with French’s yellow and there you have it folks a winning combination mustard and bologna like peanut butter and jelly cookies and milk a pair that just can’t be split apart you can’t just get a spoonful of mustard just like you just can’t eat it one piece of bologna by itself.

The two are interlocketer they got to be served together one side of the mustard is a different story the bun is outstanding the smell the texture and the lingering aftertaste all gone thanks to mustard.

I purchased this product Because it has been several years since I tried Bologna. My last memory as a child was not a pleasant one. I was looking for something new to add to my lunch box. I sure am glad I did.

The Oscar Mayer Hearty Thick Cut Bologna was wonderful and nothing like I remember it. It is thick Enough that I don’t need to add more than one slice to a sandwich to be the perfect amount. The texture is good and not chewy.

I expected this to have a very processed and overly salty taste but it was actually quite the opposite. this bologna tasted natural, And had a great taste that was not overly salted. This will be a nice change up to a regular turkey sandwich and I will definitely continue to keep purchasing this.

When I open the package, I immediately smelled the roasted chicken aroma which is a good sign of something tasty to come. So, I made a sandwich with the rotisserie chicken slices in a sandwich with toasted garlic brioche buns, garlic aioli and a larger sliced tomato.

Originally, I thought the slices were too thin but they really were sliced just right when they’re stacked in rolled halves as it gave it the right depth for the sandwich. Since I purchased the 1 lb container, I would have wanted a container that had a seal to keep the freshness and to also keep its flavor and aroma separated.

I will say this rotisserie seasoned chicken was not my favorite of the bunch. It wasn’t bad by any means, but the flavor was a little on the bland side compared to other flavors they offer. I still added it to my other Oscar Mayer deli meats but wouldn’t make an entire sandwich with it.

I feel it needs the lettuce, mayo, cheese and other meat flavors to create a decent flavored sandwich. As a last resort I would buy it if I needed it in a pinch, but it wouldn’t be in my top 3 choices from Oscar Mayer.

As stated before, I feel the packaging is not the best for any of the deli meats. They don’t reseal properly. Something resealable would definitely be much better.

This is chopped, pressed, formed and roasted/smoked turkey white meat. Like the “Roast Beef” you get at a certain fast food restaurant. It has a homogeneous texture, not like natural turkey breast meat that has a natural grain.

The bag was puffy as many others mentioned but didn’t effect quality or freshness. The initial smell was off-putting but the meat itself wasn’t spoiled. It is a little wet but not oily. I wouldn’t recommend this if you like to eat it by itself but would work fine on a sandwich or for non-picky kids.

Ordered this for curbside pickup and didn’t actually see it until I got home because I had asked person bringing order out to go ahead and councils items in cooler. I’ve bought Oscar Meyer products for years and never seen anything like this.

The package was blown up like a balloon and looked like it was about to pop on both sections. I was not willing to make the 60 mile round trip to return the product (no Sam’s club in my town). I called the toll free number on package and was told it was probably from the nitrogen put in the package for freshness but it shouldn’t affect the taste.

I said I was afraid to eat it and was then told it could possibly be spoiled. During the pandemic the curbside pickup is great for us old folks but next time I will watch while my items are loaded to be sure everything looks OK.

In any case, I won’t ever buy this item again. After the fact, I read other reviews and found out I was not the first to have this problem.

I bought the Sam’s brand sliced turkey for years. It’s been “discontinued” unfortunately so I tried this. Disappointing to say the least. Won’t buy it again. Had to dry it between paper towels to remove the excess moisture (part of the 40 oz, I’m sure).

I’ll switch to another product even if it’s more expensive.

Good flavor and with very welcome reduced sodium content. I prefer sliced and refrigerated cold for a quick sandwich or to enjoy on Wasa Crispbreads for breakfasts or lunch. Sliced and heated for fried eggs is good, too.

Convenience is the name of the game. Remove from can, place directly in zip-plastic sandwich bag and slice fully while its in the bag to save for use as needed from the refrigerator. Quick, easy, convenient and no mess to clean up.

This is an affordable alternative to you dinner. I like to slice it up then sprinkle brown sugar on it and fry. I serve with pinto beans, turnip greens, Mac and cheese and cornbread. This is a great meal idea for a busy week day.

I love this brand, and I love this turkey. I’m really trying to watch what I eat and pay attention to the ingredients. This turkey is juicy and flavorful. I also use this to make grilled sandwiches, turkey and cheese is yummmmmmy! I highly recommend Applegate anything, the ingredients are clean and tastes great.

After doing some research on lunch meats, I discovered most are filled with really unhealthy ingredients. This particular brand and version (organic) was highly rated in terms of high quantity ingredients.

The product tastes great, and I feel great knowing it’s not pumped full of unhealthy fillers and low quality meat.
