20 Best Low Cost Metal Detector (2023 Updated)

You will need to learn this detector, it’s not for beginners. As with all detectors it’s about listening and concentration on the audio response. So many variables to set up on this detector which is good.

for experienced detectorists. I am using the 15inch coil. to cover more area but I think I may need to go to the 11inch whilst I get used to the detector when finding signals between iron. It likes big IRON so a Profind 35 pinpointer will be needed.

The 35 detects iron to save you digging it when the equinox says its a good signal. I have used several detectors and this one will take a long time to get used too. I Watched lots of YouTube videos first, but still need to watch more.

The Identification numbers even when low can be a good item to dig. , so Don’t ignore them. I found a silver sixpence with an ID of 16 which is low. I do try to run detectors at max sensitivity to get deeper targets.

, This one I had to dial back as there was so much feedback The multi frequency and the fact it sees big IRON. as good target. means you have to dig anything that sounds interesting.

I have had this unit for just over 12 months and love it! It is used weekly and even daily at times. Battery life is great and easy to charge. I have found a number of pieces of jewellery and plenty of coins, my oldest coin being aver 120 years old.

I have used this in parks, beaches, open fields and in the gold county. I have had luck with a small. 5g gold piece found, my only one so far. I love this unit as does the kids. The only part I’ve had trouble with is the armrest, it has broken on me a couple of time – easy to replace though with a kit being available to order.

I didn’t have very high expectations for a folding metal detector, but I’ve always wanted to have a metal detector that I can carry in a backpack without it looking like I have a rifle in there (I was accosted once by somebody that thought my old metal detector was a gun!) So I decided to order the MineLab Go-Find 66.

I was pleasantly surprised; this detector isn’t a toy. It’s actually a really good detector, it has very quick response to targets and has features, including multiple discrimination modes, pin-point, target ID number, headphone jack, backlit display, etc.

that higher end detectors have. It does not have manual ground-balancing and will probably not work on a wet, salt-water beach, but I haven’t tried that scenario yet. Since I live far from any salt water it’s not an issue.

The auto ground balance works well. The detector is very good at discriminating out garbage and is very quiet until it finds a legitimate target. The hand-held pin-pointer only has audio (beeping, but no vibrate mode) but works well and has a nice auto-find, auto-off feature if you leave it on too long.

I’m very happy with this purchase. I was able to pull the arm brace right off of the detector one day, though, by pulling on it too hard, but it snapped right back on again and that’s never happened again (because I’m more careful now).

Definitely recommend this, especially the Go-Find 66. And if you don’t have a hand-held pin-pointer you’ll love this combo.

So, I have finally had a chance to test out my Christmas present. First thing, don’t go metal detecting in steel toe cap boots or boots with any steel in them! I first tried the Go-Find 66 on New Brighten beach in Christchurch, but, I suspect that there was too much iron sand around and I got a lot of false positives.

I then tried it at the farm and got much better results. I still found as I was doing the quick sweep that I got hits that when I focused in on the spot came up negative. I suspect that sometimes plant foliage flicking through the coil may have given some false positives along with dock plants which gave a hit when moving the coil quickly but then came up blank when focusing in.

It did find some pretty small pieces of metal and an old bolt as well, so, when it does find something it was picking up some pretty small stuff. The pin point feature worked well. So, overall, a bit more false positives when quickly scanning that I would like, but otherwise happy.

Bought this for when we are out and about camping. Have used it about half a dozen times now and have some interesting finds so far. The grandchildren absolutely love it! Hours of family enjoyment already.

I admit that I have used better detectors (friends) worth in the 2 to 3 thousand dollar range. But bought this on special and with a $100 gift voucher given to me. I believe it is the best value for money general purpose metal detector around.

Plus I ordered on line and picked up from local store! (Could have got it delivered for free – but wanted it the next day!) I absolutely enjoy my time when using it. I have just invested in a better set of earphones for it but the others were okay for a while.

I started detecting in the late seventies and only living a few minutes from the beach have always wanted to do beach detecting. I have had quite a few different detectors over the years and have mainly detected on land because I could not seem to find a detector that was affordable and would work well on the beach as well as the land.

When the Vanquish came out I became very interested in it due to the reports of its excellent performance on the beach, so I went out and bought a Vanquish 440. I was extremely surprised at the performance and ease of use this machine had for the money, I have been on the beach a few times before with other makes of machine but never had anything that performed like this machine.

I put the machine into Jewellery mode, knocked the sensitivity down a couple of notches and was off, I was, at the time on a section of the beach called “bullet beach” known as that for obvious reasons.

Within a couple of minutes the signals were coming in loud and clear and I was pulling out old. 45 cal lead pistols projectiles and also old. 303 riffle projectiles. I would say that the depth on average was between six to ten inch’s.

The deeper signals gave just as strong a signal as the shallow ones and in the end there where that many that I did not dig them all but started selecting targets by the target ID number displayed on the screen.

I must say that I find the target ID numbers on these machines quite good and accurate, it’s just a case of learning what the numbers are like on any machine. I have tried all the modes including the coin and relic modes but have not really found a lot of difference in the depth, maybe relic being slightly deeper than the others.

The difference between them mainly being the discrimination and the recovery speed, coin mode having the fastest recovery speed and relic the slowest. I chose the jewellery mode for the beach as it has the discrimination set at zero with a medium recovery speed and small gold can come in on these machines as low as one and I did not want to miss anything valuable.

Selecting the “all metal mode” is very useful for listening for the iron in the background especially when hunting on land although I prefer myself to have it off when hunting on the beach, I find the fixed iron bios on these quite good.

I have done some testing of the machine on land and was really surprised at how sensitive this machine is to small silver items like cut quarters and cut half pennies. I would normally hunt on land with my Golden Mask fitted with the new fighter “S” coil which I find very good for finding small deep targets but found that the Vanquish was a lot more sensitive to the small silver items and was in some cases up to two inch’s deeper than the GM.

I need more time to evaluate the Vanquish on land but I suspect that my Golden Mask might be spending some time in the cupboard in the future, all in all I find the Vanquish an amazing machine for the money with it’s Multi IQ and easy to operate controls brilliant, and you will struggle to find another machine for the price with this sort of tech in it.

I found that the build quality is quite good but was a bit disappointed that the control box is not totally waterproof, especially as it will be used a lot on the beach. I did however find it that good that I have now gone out and bought the 540 as well for some of the extra features that it has like Bluetooth head phone support and backlight on the display for when the nights start to get a bit dark early.

I was nervous buying this detector because I really didn’t know much about them. After reading the reviews and watching a few YouTube videos I decided to take the plunge. I’m not disappointed at all.

It is exactly what I wanted. A detector that is not too pricey, easy for a beginner to use, but able to find decent targets. So far I’ve used it on the beach most days. I’m slowly learning how to set the discrimination settings in order to filter out rubbish (first few days I found bottle tops and can pull tabs by the truckload).

The detector is really easy to use, but there is a learning curve in order to master it. Expect to dig rubbish until you learn how to use the machine properly. So far I have found $53. 47 in modern coins, an old penny (1952), a silver ring, a small gold bracelet, an eagle pendant (I think it’s just stainless steal), and an eclectic collection of bits and bobs from an old square nail to a stealie tom bowler marble.

All this in just 3 weeks. So far I’ve had hours of fun with this machine. I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone seeking a cost effective yet powerful entry level metal detector.

I knew nothing about metal detectors until my husband announced I was getting one for my birthday. This machine was recommended as an excellent beginner tool that is waterproof with 4 setting to help filter signals based on the environment.

package came with everything needed to start metal detecting. I read the instructions and watched a few videos online to give me a sense of how the machine works. On my very first test just one step away from our patio the signal was strong.

I opened the spot and found one, two, three matchbox cars about 4” underground. A couple steps more, another signal, then another…. Every signal produced a direct hit on something. I was tickled at my own success rate!! Someone with experience gave me the advice to carry flags or markers with me so I can mark several spots and then come back over each spot to dig.

The pointer is absolutely necessary to verify how close you are to exposing the target, and for insuring you got everything out of the hole before you cover it back up. I would have missed 2 of the 3 toy cars in the first hole I dig!! One thing I didn’t expect was how hard the soil is to dig! It requires a great deal of strength so it limited my time digging and finding things on my first test! The package deal I selected included a dig tool and sheath, a finds bag, leg strap for the pointer, wireless headphones, a pointer and a hat.

I would suggest adding markers, flags, and a towel/rag of some sort to wipe off your dig tool before returning it to it’s sheath. I also purchased a protective cover for the controls to keep it from getting dirty from my hands or gloves when I am switching back and forth between searching and digging.

I have sound something in every hole I have marked, even though it was just my first time using the machine. Now I am ready to find all sorts of lost treasures!!.

I had always been curious about metal detecting. had one of those useless $20 Radio Shack detectors as a kid. Now that I’m older, I was looking for a way to be outside and have a little fun. Metal detecting popped into my head and I quickly found that the Simplex is a budget priced but feature rich detector based on other reviews and videos.

One thing I like is that lots of people are using this detector. You can go on Youtube and see tips and tricks (look up the VDI videos — they’re very helpful). It’s rechargeable and updateable. It’s not heavy.

When I got the device I was swinging it around in my backyard and my first dig was a (modern) penny. It’s always fun finding a target and interpreting what the detector is telling you. and then seeing what’s in the ground.

I received my order quickly, and it was everything I ordered. I studied the book for a few minutes and headed out to the front yard. I immediately started finding targets. The Simplex is very accurate and the pinpointer made it even easier to recover the targets.

Got this to check for nails & staples in old barn wood, pallet wood and fresh cut trees used for slabs, so I don’t damage my saw blades. It’s worked really well finding large cut off nails, legs of old T50 staples, small finish & trim nails as well as a chunk of chain embedded in a trunk that had grown around it.

Takes a little practice to zero in, especially on really small hard to see things like finish nails or staples. Overall, really happy with it so far – been in use a few weeks. We’ll see how it holds up in the long term.

I bought this detector to find any nails or metallic embedded objects in used lumber. I try using used lumber, when possible, in various projects that I do. I have ruined a few saw blades or, at the least, dulling the blades prematurely.

I hope to use this device to locate those pesky/problematic objects from interfering in my work. Although recently bought and not used as yet, I am certain this device will have a permanent spot very near my table saw.

I purchased some reclaimed barn wood and was going to use it on a project. I have a SawStop table saw so I needed to insure that the wood was free of hidden metal. The 9v Metal Detector Wand was a perfect fit for my need.

Its well worth its price and it is very sensitive. I uncovered some bird shot in the wood that would have set off the safety break on the saw. That alone would have cost me over $175 to replace the blade and the safety brake on the SawStop.

A great investment as far as I am concerned.

I have always, since I was a kid (I’m in my 40s), wanted a metal detector. I researched which one to buy for less than $800 and after watching several people on YouTube metal detecting, I chose this one.

I couldn’t be happier with it. After just a few minutes I had found a silver-colored button, a penny, a quarter, a very big washer, and a very old aluminum can. We have several acres here, and so I can’t wait to see what else I turn up.

One word of advice, I had a hard time figuring out the instructions to put it together, and after getting halfway through and realizing I didn’t really know what I was doing I looked up a video on YouTube.

I should have done that first. Save yourself a bit of frustration and look at a video first then read the instructions. They’ll make more sense then. It was easy to put together, after I figured out what I was doing.

Anyway, I’m very pleased so far, and can’t wait to go back out with it tomorrow.

Very good documentation came with the AT Pro. Very easy to understand and use out of the box. The AT Pro is light and very adjustable to fit the user. I especially like the beginner instructions and suggestions.

The AT Pro is engineered for the serious hunters as well as the beginner. The display is clear and very easy to understand. The audio alerts are great when identifying what type of metal it has detected and the depth indicator is great.

The deeper the target registers, the excitement level raises in anticipation of what is under there. I haven’t had the opportunity to submerse it yet, so I can’t say anything as to its performance in that respect.

We look forward to using it as often as we can. Our son, 5 years, has his own small detector so when I pull out the AT Pro he is right there with me. He is still a little short to make the AT Pro fit but it won”t be to much longer and he’ll be mastering it and I’ll have to buy him one or replace this one!.

The Garrett AT Gold is an excellent detector for. 2 gram and larger gold prospecting, for relic hunting and for coin and jewelry hunting. It is easy to operate and has enough features to make it be capable of satisfying many levels of detecting expertise.

Being fully waterproof and well built, it can handle underwater and rugged terrain conditions. Since it transmits at 18 kHz and does not have special salt ground balancing compensation, it is not recommended for salt water or wet salt beach operation.

It is a bit heavy with a larger coil but using one will get more depth than the AT Pro. The stock 5X8. 5″ coil is perfect for it however and gets plenty of depth and coverage. Some people do not like the more digital sounding tones on the AT Gold and AT Max compared to the more doorbell like tones on the AT Pro.

I personally think the two non-ferrous tones sound great and give me plenty of information. For small target hunting, for areas that need lots of target separation and for going after deep targets with a larger coil, the AT Gold will do very well.

Ordered a few days ago and when it got here I was so excited. Literally took it out the box put it together and went outside in less than five minutes of being home. This is my first detector and a plus that it came with the pinpointer.

I love it already. Found two nails and a couple can tabs in a matter of minutes with this thing. The only reason for the four star is the battery compartment on the box. The batteries were kind of tight to put in and out.

Tighter then they should be. Hope this helps someone looking for a new hobby. I’ve definitely found mine!!.

I’ve had this detector for a couple years now and I wasn’t expecting much because of the price, but this detector is amazing! I have found all kinds of cool relics and rings and you can put it in the water all the way up to the control panel.

I was going to buy something more popular but I don’t need to because this is really all you need.

I brought this item for my son after reading some reviews. The metal detector is nice because there are few settings and it isn’t difficult to get working right out of the box. It easily detects even small metal under the ground and it has been fun to go treasure hunting.

Even smaller kids can hold it because the size is adjustable and the weight isn’t too much. All you have to do is bury some coins in the yard or a few matchbox cars to keep them interested.

Very easy to use, perfect for beginners and a choice of experts for finding small gold. But dont take my word for it, check online resources from the experts. As for being plastic mentioned by the other reviewer, yes they are all plastic, but are very light and strong. Also, you can buy new coil And covers on the bottom, And a piece of blue tape on top helps prevent scratches on top of the coil.

The first trip out (after some backyard practicing) and this little “work horse” helped find a musket ball that was hiding underwater and rocks. It produced a clear and consistent signal even in the water.

The next trip will be to a place known for it’s gold finds. It truly lives up to it’s description as far as the knowledge I have in operating it. Easy assembly and sturdy.

Simple to operate and light to use detector who’s high speed processor allows for faster and accurate searching. It has hit some little lead pieces of bullets at good depths and has good discrimination.

The simplicity and practicality of design allow for field improvisation of shafts with the provided coil mount kit. My only surprise was seeing how fast the AA batteries (in the enclosed adapter)went when I used the deep search mode (I will be buying a 2nd minelab battery).

Overall a great detector thus far!.

Bought this gently used on Ebay. The packaging for shipping was the best I’ve ever received. Thank you. I assembled the unit, turned it on, calibrated it to earth ground, walked around my yard and my very first discovery was a silver American quarter from 1963.

The unit is working flawlessly. Its sensitivity to small treasures like coins is amazing. I’m just a hobby treasure hunter, but this unit exceeds my expectations in the field. Easy to set up, dial in, and use.

Its not too heavy on the arm during use. I am 6 foot tall, weighing 225, so weight of the machine is not an issue. I am completely satisfied with the Ace 400 in the field! I would recommend this product to someone interested in novice treasure hunting.

I am looking forward to many more hours in the field with it.

This is a review for the Garrett Ace 300 (metal detector). It’s incredibly exciting to use once you get the hang of it. There is a bit of a learning curve. Don’t skip the bench tests. I created a notebook to record and chart the results for future reference.

Once you can recognize the sounds and signals of your targets it is smooth sailing. It can get heavy after awhile of steady swinging and since it has to be about an inch off the ground you are constantly having to adjust your bearing.

I insert new batteries before each use and take them out when I’m finished. I’ve found a few ‘top pocket finds’ but surprisingly they were not metal- they just happened to be near a metal target. Definitely get the attachments and accessories.

Worth it!.

I’ve always wanted a metal detector. A friend of my suggested that if I want to start metal detecting as a hobby I should look into getting a Garrett metal detector because they aren’t too expensive and they are pretty good for what you get for the price.

So I I chose an (Ace 300 model) and I bought one. My Garrett Ace 300 showed up a few weeks later. When it arrived I was so happy but alittle nervous too. I put it together and took it outside to test it in my yard and as I played with it I eventually got the hang of it.

Once I figured it all out and how it worked I just fell in love with it ! Thats when I knew that this was now going to be my new hobby for now on. I go out to metal detect all the time and the more I do it ,the better I get.

I strongly recommend a Garrett 300 metal detector to everyone who wants to get into the hobby of metal detecting. It’s just an awesome thrill to go out hunting because you never know what you might find.

I have had most every big gun detector on the market. From fisher teknetics minelab nautilus tesoro bounty hunter whites aka. Single freq multi freq. Bbs fbs multi iq smf in the whites v3i. Which was my favorite detector.

Until. Today. The nokta makro legend is one heck of a fantastic detector. I run tests in a test garden. In my barn and on the shores of lake george. Today i visited all three places. And the legend was spot on! Once my local colonial fields thaw i will reevaluate.

But in the tests i have set up the legend preforms. Buy one if you can its going to be legendary. Buy it from Destination Gold. They are super people. They answer emails chats all questions and keep you up to date on shipping and tracking youre item to youre door.

Ordered and received the package the next day! The detector itself is fantastic. I have several detectors, two of which are Nokta, a couple XP, Minelab, Technetic, etc. This one is easy to use, and man can it find stuff.

We live in HIGHLY mineralized soil, where ground balance can change every 2 feet. Not a problem for this machine. Turned it on, started swinging, started finding things in my yard I had missed. Super good.

Very impressed, and for that price, I may buy another for the wife!.

I was interested in purchasing a Nokta Makro Legend ProPack and had one ordered from an online distributor that I had previously dealt with. After delays from that dealer I found that Destination Gold had it in stock and at a lower price.

Needless to say, a week later I had it, with a lower price, and a couple of freebies thrown in. Do yourself a favor and try Destination Gold first, you will not be disappointed. The detector itself has the fit and finish I was expecting from Nokta, not much time in the field yet but I’m sure it will live up to expectations.

It Came today. I have lived on this land for 15 yrs and always used a differt brand and found mostly junk. I took a challenge on here from a post on you tube and the guy dares you to set it with junk button off and see if you dont find something.

I got a strong hit 3 ft from my side walk and 4″ in the dirt was a Victorian solid copper doorbell. So i brought it in the house and polished it up. Not bad from 15 mins in an area tried before and 6 ozs of solid copper.

Well im 100% Convinced.

I purchased this metal detector just to find the metal stakes the surveyor pounded into the ground indicating my property line. I just purchase the property but it had been surveyed several years prior.

I knew the general area of my property and spent hours before I purchase this metal detector looking for them. Out of frustration i called a surveyor and asked him if he could come out and survey or show me where the stakes were.

I also asked him how much it would cost. He told me around $100 to find the stakes and more if he couldn’t but he was also very busy and didn’t know when he could make it out. I really want to get started on my fence so i came up with the idea to buy a cheap metal detector to try to find them on my own.

I read some amazon reviews and decided to purchase this metal detector. I got home put it together in 2 minutes and went outside. within 5 minutes I found the first stake then 5 min later the next stake and so on until I had all four.

I was so happy to save money and find the stakes right away instead of waiting for surveyor. the way I look at it i got a free metal detector. Then I just kept searching and having fun finding things in my yard.

I even decided to put a penny,nickle,and quarter in the ground to practice what to listen for and how to pinpoint items and tune in the metal detector. Well worth the money!.

No, it is not ready to go out of the box as the description states. Would’ve been great to know the unit needs 2 9volt batteries. Nowhere in the description or in the specifications is noted the need for the type and quantity of batteries.

I was ready to do some detecting with my grandkids, but first I’ll need to make a trip to the store to get the 9volts, got plenty of other size batteries, just not 9volts.

I’ve used the expensive machines, they are Great! They can tell you basically exactly what you have, how deep etc. It’s amazing. but they cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars! I got my bounty hunter tracker iv used and couldn’t be happier.

The battery life is decent but i would recommend rechargeable batteries. I’ve run it forr an hour straight with regular batteries with no need to change anyway. This thing works great! If it says there is metal in the ground, you better dig it! Serious detectors with thousand dollar machines will laugh and say this will find coins basically right on the surface.

I’ve found coins up to 8 inches deep with this machine! I started out digging really shallow and going step by step, but after a few finds I realized most of the signals were from 4+” down! I was pleasantly surprised with the depth I got from this machine.

The modes are very useful too. I can set out a silver coin, a gold ring and some other items in a “clean” area and listen to exactly what each item sounds like, for instance gold has a very low pitched tone while silver is very loud and high.

It just helps to get the excitement up. I dig all beeps lol! My best suggestion is buy a pinpointer. I had to give up on several finds just because i could not find them in the hole lol. My mother has a cheaper, Chinese no name model detector and it works, but the quality compared to the bounty hunter is nothing.

It can detect coins etc but only about 3-4″ deep and it has almost no discrimination for trash etc. My point is, I wouldn’t go cheaper. This is a great machine for a great price that I am glad to own.

This would be a great gift for someone starting out or to keep for when friends visit etc. A high quality machine that is easy and confortable to use and will really find the good stuff! I am getting deeper into the hobby and have some great sites on my own property so I plan to upgrade to an even better machine, but this will stick around for my wife, daughter, friends etc to use with me! VERYHighly recommended!.

I wanted an inexpensive metal detector to find the boundary pins on our property. The description of the Bounty Hunter made a lot of claims, while i was skeptical, i purchased it. While it is a basic unit without some of the automated features of the more expensive models.

It had their functionality. It was able to differentiate the different types of metals, give me an idea of the depth and found it to be able detect small metal objects. Most importantly, I was able to find the first surveyor pin for our property.

I am now getting ready to find the rest.

Ive never used a metal detector, but I figured what the hell, I could use another hobby. So I took this one out in my backyard to learn and practice. No lie, five seconds after I started I got a good strong tone.

So I started digging and found a 1966 quarter about 7 deep. Then I checked the hole again and found a button from a 1970s pair of designer jeans. Within an hour I had 3 holes dug with various things, like an old screwdriver bit at 6, a really old caster from a rolling cart at around 8, and various other things.

The only criticism is the meter. When you get a hit, the needle just jumps around wildly, and getting any kind of reading is useless. But for a beginner to moderate user it works great. Its lightweight, so I doubt swinging it for 5-6 hours would be no problem.

The instructions were easy to read, and gives a general description of what settings do what. The pinpointer works well, but you gotta remember to shut it off when youre not using it, because it sucks batteries dry fairly quickly.

And the tone and vibration could be a bit stronger. All in all, a good deal that Id recommend.

Bought this today expecting a decent detector due to the price but it is not very good. It detected my gold ring when I tested it but the beep is quite inconsistent. Because of this I think it would be very easy to miss many targets.

In some cases it will only beep in one direction instead of 2 times as I waived it back and forth. This is a Childs detector at best. Unfortunately since I tested this outside, Canadian Tire would not give me my money back but only store credit.

It would be more worth it to spend more on a better detector or spend less on a comparable beginner detector.

My wife purchased this for me for an early Christmas present. I assembled it with no problem and put the batteries in which are extremely hard to get it. No power batteries where not making contact. Tried repeatedly to position to batteries to make contact to stay on for more than 2 seconds with no success.

I was very excited to use this around our small farm before the snow flies. Very disappointed. Returning this piece of junk to the nearest Canadian Tire asap. Waste of time and Money.

Great but for two things. One, the detector must be in constant motion to function. I am used to a detector that is not and if in motion then you need to go back to confirm the detected spot which means having your eyes glued to the ground.

Two, the battery compartment is poorly designed and removing the batteries is difficult with very unwieldy plastic tabs holding batteries in place. I do not expect these tabs to last long which will then make the detector useless.

It does however detect incredibly well. I first used it to find nails I’d lost on my lawn and was picking up very small rusted metal filings from having removed pallet nails. Excellent but for the two drawbacks.

Bought this for my 11-year-old son to use at the beach. He loved it and spent hours with it, finding an array of metallic objects of all variety. Easy to assemble and simple to use. It was far superior to starter detectors for not so much more money.

I would definitely recommend. It came quickly from Academy with no issues at all.

I could go into a long drawn out review about the features and capabilities of this unit, but I’ll keep it simple. If you are looking for an advanced Metal Detector to suite all your needs and searches, this is the one.

The information on LCD display is clear, and there are many presets for searching for specific types of targets in numerous train environments and depths. Sensitivity seems very good, but the many LCD programming options will take a good bit of study and practice to get proficient enough to really take advantage of the detector’s capabilities and flexibility.

GTI 2500 it’s great for coin searching/etc. It will detect small nuggets, but only if they are near the surface (and this is without commenting on the type of soil you’re searching). highly recommended, great detector, outstanding customer service !!.

Garrett never fails! The GTI PRO 2500 is like a Ferrari compared to other metal detectors I’ve owned, Some of the key features I love with this detector are the imaging and how it allows me to know what the size and depth of the target is along with what type of coin it is.

Also the Treasure talk is a nice feature that allows me to listen to what the detector has found and not even have to look at the screen. The pinpointing on this model, it is extremely accurate and allows me to only have to dig the smallest hole to retrieve most targets found.

A very professional ground metal detector and you can turn into a deep seeking at same time, Works in soils with low and high mineralization. The GTI 2500 is based on VLF technology. The device has a large LCD-screen with backlight (better not use too much to save battery power) which tells you about a detected object: The size, burial depth and type of metal.

A depth indicator with the scale of 6 values (in inches) is combined with a size one. Definitely great detector with a large set of various functions which make hunting easier: adjustable sensitivity, ground balance, threshold and pinpoint mode.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Armrest Brace Fits Minelab SDC 2300 SDC2300 a bit of mucking around to fit but once you work it out its simple. A note with instructions with it would have been helpful. Fits under cover on arms if there.

Strong and out of the way when using but on fold up the coil is not quite flush fitting to the machine but still close-able.

The earphones provided are not nearly as good as my Nugget Busters. That’s why I bought the Pro sonic Wireless unit, to accommodate my Nugget Busters. But I love the SDC 2300.

This package would have to be the best battery upgrade kit on the market. Do yourself a favour and upgrade your SDC with this product. Very happy customer

I ‘ve done a good 20 hours detecting and I can ‘t really tell you how well the GPX 5000 performs because I never recieved a DD coil with it, I got two monos. In your advert it said one 11″ mono and one 11″ DD coil.

In Australian and American gold magazines people use Coiltek coils. So you have to ask the question, what is wrong with Minelab coils ? If you had sent me the DD coil it would have made the whole detector more versatile and I could tell you how it performs.

I can tell you how it performs with a 6″ coiltek. I need to learn how to use it before making trips to gold fields in NZ and Australia.

Minelab made a great detector, no need to buy a GPX 5000 when the other older models work just as well.

Excellent detector that is very reliable and good value.

The cost of the package was fair charge. It Came with what I wanted, except a pin pointer and belt bag and small shovel. Sad thing was the cool cap was crushed and can’t use it looks road killed. Lol.

In other words it’s great company to deal with.

Hitting extra deep targets with ease. Once you learn all the settings it’s super nice!
