20 Best Low Calorie Cat Food (2023 Updated)

Nell highly approves of the smell and taste of Hill’s Prescription Died r/d Weight Reduction cat food, finding it iresistable at meal time. Her owner previously purchased another brand of cat food, at greater cost, and Nell would have none of that swill.

Her owner even gave the barely-used bag to another biped for *her* 3 cats. aaaaand, it wound up in the trash. Hill’s Prescription Diet, by contrast, is less expensive than the other brand, and Nell can’t get enough of it! But she WILL get enough.

Just enough. Because she’s a porker. Looking forward to her slimming down with Hill’s so she can once again get her lard butt through the cat door. Very satisfied with product.

My 2 cats have been eating this for 9 months now. Their vet put them on it 9 months ago. One cat was 22 pounds and the other was 15. 9 pounds. The first cat now weighs 17. 6 and the second one is 13.

4 pounds. I thought I would have problems with them switching cat food but they love this plant based dry food. I feed them with an automatic feeder that measures out the amounts they are suppose to have.

I highly recommend it.

Tilly is trying to lose weight. I am up to 50% previous kibble mixed with this. I chose this because at least it listed (chicken by product) ‘meal’ as an almost 1st ingredient as opposed to corn and gluten, etc.

Though these WR foods sound nasty to me, my cat eats it and doesn’t just eat around it to get to the other kibble. We are going slowly. So far so good! 4 stars because I wish it wasn’t made from so many questionable ingredients (to me) and could have more wholesome ingredients but I will go with the science and hope for the health of my cat.

I’m a very fussy eater but I really like this stuff. I worried I’d be starving on my new diet. Surprise! It stays by me! I don’t tease my folks for more food between meals anymore even though the recommended amount is less than my old regular dry food.

I don’t even need the full recommended amount. Granted, I’m a 11 yr. old overweight, indoor, couch potato cat. With the extra air squished out, the Velcro bag seal kept it fresh and tasty to the last bit.

I just finished my first 4 lb. bag purchased 6 weeks ago and I’m a happy girl!.

After my 15 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes we were on the hunt for a new food that him and our other non diabetic cat could agree on. After striking out with two other brands we gave this one a try.

We ordered a small bag and immediately had to order a large bag because they were hooked! They both absolutely love it! After adding this food along with portion controls my cat is now off of insulin completely and his blood sugars have been great! Overall everyone in this house is very happy!.

One cat is 16+ and diabetic, the other is 13 and recently diagnosed diabetic. For over 3 years, ALL their food (wet and dry) has been prescription. This is the one they LOVE the most. They often shun some foods for a time, but not this one! I believe it keeps their insulin units low too.

One cat is suppose to eat only wet food, but he begs for this dry food, so I often sprinkle water onto it, and they both think that’s a real treat. I highly recommend this cat food.

The reason for 2 stars: she did eat it without a problem regarding taste. I wasted way too much time and faith on this company. Cassie’s wellness visits one and two years (last week) after starting BB weight control formulas showed NO CHANGE.

I, however, AM changing brands. I’m tired of getting the look from the vet that implies I should stop lying about what I’m feeding her. I’ve been following the feeding charts on the bags. I’ve watched her scratch her bowl looking for more food.

I know I’m not a bad owner, but I feel like I’m putting her back in the shelter scurrying to get food before all the bowls are empty. No more. I’ll gladly pay more to gamble on a successful outcome; I’ve failed for two years with this.

I honestly think cat products are just an “oh yeah” second thought BB added in with their dogfood line.

So I have never written a review before but I would want to know so I’m going to share what happened with my kitty. I have given the product three stars because he lost over a lb in about a month. It absolutely worked.

However, about a month into it he started having accidents and was acting a little funny. He’s never been sick before, other than an eye infection when I adopted him, and when he started acting lethargic I took him to a vet and he had a uti.

I had the vet treat the uti and took him home. Within the next couple days he was acting normal again. However, it didn’t last long and two weeks later he was acting like he was before again. So I bought the homeopet uti threw out the weight control food and switch back to regular blue Buffalo.

Within hours he was acting better and within a week he was back to normal. So while this food works, it may cause utis in your cats so be careful.

Our vet suggested, if we insisted on giving our cats a can of soft food, we buy Hill’s Science Diet or Iams, especially since one of the young cats seem to have an unexplained dietary issue. All three wolfed down this Hill’s flavor, which surprised me as, in the past, they didn’t like the other flavors in the larger cans; although the younger cats did like the gastro prescription flavor when they were kittens (again digestive issues).

It’s very expensive, even splitting one small can in three as a treat; I went with Perfect Weight as they all like it, and I have one cat who is very large. We have not, knock on wood, experienced the short filled cans or quality issues reported by others.

I’d prefer purchasing locally as it’s easier to take the cans back, but it’s frequently out of stock; our local grocery stores frequently have completely empty cat product aisles. The Chewys order was ok, received within parameters although I had to take a second look at “delivery within three days follow shipment,” not within three days of order; I was a little desperate as I had ran out of the small stash I’d found locally, and I was trying not to keep changing types.

My rating of a 4 instead of 5 is simply price and supply issues (I routinely noticed empty Hill’s shelves, both prescription and non-prescription soft & hard food options at the two large pet competitors over the past couple of years).

Benny started out on Hill’s Kitten Dry Food plus 1/3 can of wet food. He loved it. We gradually moved to Indoor Cat 1-6 after the 6 month mark along with some other brands–Wild Blue Duck, IAMs, and Meow Mix.

Since he is a little bit chubbier than I think he should be, I have added Hills Perfect Weight. He picks through his mixture eating the Indoor first and then the Perfect Weight. He usually works on all the other bits after that.

He is not really a picky eater when it comes to dry food. We offer him 1/4 cup dry food morning and night as well as 1/3 small can of wet food once a day. He leaves a bit of the dry food at each feeding, but usually cleans his plate with the wet food.

He does become a bit anxious if there is no morsel at his feeding station.

I decided that this looked like their current Hill’s food, same size and shape. My chunky babies could use a light food. I made the mistake of assuming I could switch them slowly. I purchased the large bag.

Bad decision. They’re currently in day 10 of protesting. They pick out their Adult 1-6 year food and refuse to touch this. I am almost out of the regular food and still have essentially an entire bag of the Light.

I guess I’ll order more of their ‘normal’ food and chalk it up to lesson learned. I definitely don’t recommend assuming your little divas will eat it and buying the largest bag. Start small! I’m sure there are some cats that will love it and devour it.

I have 8 cats and not one enjoys it.

The first 2. 5 years of my cat’s life, I fed him the regular adult formula Science Diet kibble, which he really liked. After he had a 2-week long bout of daily vomiting and hairballs, my vet recommended I put him on a hairball control formula instead; she actually recommended the Royal Canin brand, which we did try, and my cat liked that very much but it’s pricey.

I decided to try the Science Diet hairball control kibble instead, since it’s cheaper, even though my vet said cats on this formula were found to be deficient in omega-3 (I figured I could add that myself in oil form).

Not only are these kibble pieces weirdly large for cat food, my cat does not seem to want to eat it. I don’t know if it’s because of the size or if he doesn’t like the taste. I’m sure some cats wouldn’t mind eating it, but the size of the kibble paired with my vet saying it doesn’t have enough omega-3 (and the fact that it’s going uneaten) demotes it to 3 stars.

Will probably go back to Royal Canin.

We bought this food over a year ago and have used it ever since at the recommendation of our veterinarian. We have 5 indoor adult cats, and this food keeps them nutritionally sound and at decent weights.

Obesity can be a problem for indoor cats. Our cats have always eaten the food without a problem. No stuck up noses or picky refusals. So I recommend the food indeed. I do wish it came in a variety of flavors.

In the beginning my cat tried a few kibbles before walking away, probably out of curiosity. He did the usual sniff, look at me, walk away that he usually does when I give him anything new to try. It’s now been a few weeks and I do still offer it together with his other dry food so I can just use the bag up and not waste it.

And he does eat all the kibble when offered. I however will not be purchasing it again because he eats more wet food than dry foods as his primary diet. In conclusion it was a good try and he did continue eating it so he probably does like it.

Purina is an affordable and good quality pet food brand that I’ve trusted for years. They put their money into research and development instead of advertising so I trust their quality and scientific research.

Both of my cats love their Weight Management food (they can be fussy) and it keeps their fur looking good and it helps to keep their weight under control. I think it’s a food that is priced really well for the quality that you get.

They are also a really great company to deal with. I can’t recommend them enough!.

I’m impressed that Purina has come out with a healthier option for pet food. I would love to also see an allergy free formula or sensitive stomach in this healthier format. My cat enjoyed its flavour but does have a sensitive stomach so I discontinued using this.

Trust me it isn’t Purina’s fault, I’ve got a weird cat! I’ll definitely try slowly adding some each day to combat this issue. I really do appreciate this sample, it’s price point is excellent and quality is there.

My princess tabby cat is picky about what she eats. She does not care if its expensive or not. Its pretty hard to find food that meets her satisfaction especially when it is limited to the weight management ones.

Fortunately, she loved eating this and ate so quickly, even tough she takes time eating usually. I will definitely buy this again ;).

My kitty Molly is not too active due to the fact she was attacked by a pack of dogs as a kitten. She was left with some injuries to her left hip and leg and left front paw. She was eating regular canned cat food and gaining too much weight so her Vet suggested we use the Purina Pro Plan Weight Management canned food.

I began ordering this from Walmart and after a few months I noticed a difference in her – not losing any weight – but feeling so much friskier and even running through the house a few times. Walmarts only sells this by delivery and it comes straight to your front door.

Such a convenience. Molly loves it – she gets half a can in the morning and half a can at suppertime. I also use the dry food – 1/4 cup – during the night.

We have always given our cats Blue Buffalo–in its different forms. My cats are getting a little older (NOOO!) and so we tried different foods for older cats with no noticeable happiness. So finally I decided to try the BB for mature cats–brilliant huh? They love it, love it, and the throwing up has ceased.

I had changed from Blue Buffalo to another grain-free brand with higher protein content. After a while, one of my cats started throwing up & the other was constipated. So, I switched back to Blue Buffalo, weight control formula & within one week the first cat stopped throwing up & the second became regular again & started running and playing as he did before.

There was also a noticeable difference in their coats which looked healthier & more shiney. I’ve learnt my lesson. I’m never changing Blue Buffalo again.

Our chunker won’t touch this food. I was hoping for a more affordable version of subscription weight control food, and I thought the small pieces would be easier for him with his dental issues. He won’t eat it at all, though, which turns him into a huge jerk.

My plan is giving him a half cup dry food 127. 50 kcal and canned food two of 1oz , 92 kcal, fancy feast or 1 can ,92 kcal, perfect weight of 5. 1 oz , 10 pieces dental treats,20 kcal Total would be 240 kcal or 270 kcal , I think previously I fed him 300 to 330 kcal Do you think is it ideal? I guess I have to confirm with vet about daily calories plan because I don’t want to under feed him or over feed to ruin his weight loss plan.

I have 2 female litter mates and both are about 3 pounds overweight. I closely monitor them when eating as 1 will eat the others food. Luckily one of them LOVES this kibble & the other won’t touch it! They both are eating their own weight loss kibble.

I have noticed a slight decrease in appetite with the cat that is eating the Royal Canin and she has lost a little weight only after a month. She seems to be more energetic and playful, which makes me happy.

The new packaging is a different formula. OUR CATS SNIFF IT AND WILL NOT EAT IT (and looked at us with great disappointment). But when we found one of the older packages at a store and gave it to them, they scarfed it up just like always.

We called Purina Pro Plan and they told us they have indeed changed the formula, mainly adding probiotics (but decreasing the protein, fiber, and other beneficial ingredients). The review “New Look = Different Formula!” posted by CARE on Nov 20 is just right.

We drove all over our area, going to a half dozen different stores within about a 25 mile radius to find the older version, and managed to find eight large bags. We will not buy the new packaged version! And we can’t risk buying the product online, because we would likely be sent the newer bad version.

It’s a shame that after we use up what we found, we will have to search all over for hairball kibbles which the cats like and that is as nutritious. We hope that Purina Pro Plan will return to the original formula as soon as possible in light of all the complaints starting to come in.

This is my absolute holy grail for three kittens I fostered and then adopted. It is expensive but worth every penny. When they arrived, they were 3 weeks old and half the weight they should have been.

After they were weaned, they still continued to have intermittent diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and overall just never had good GI health, despite all the treatments we tried. They underwent many rounds of dewormer, Drontal, even Fluconazole, but everything always brought only temporary relief.

As it turns out, they had such a difficult start and arrived to my home in such poor health that they have long-lasting GI damage. We don’t know if it will eventually heal, or if it is permanent. Either way, we switched them to this kitten food and they have not had any diarrhea since.

Their poop still is soft and smelly, but that is literally night day compared to where they used to be. There is NO FISH in this food and the rice and grains help slow their gut motility, ensuring they properly absorb every nutrient and have solid poop.

This food was a lifesaver for me and my kittens.

My cat does amazingly well on this food and I highly recommend it. I noticed after adopting her that she had very loose stools, and a few months ago I took her to a new vet and found out that it was due to a rare parasite.

Prior to her diagnosis, I had her on an expensive prescription food from another brand to try to improve her stool. Now that she has been treated and is clear of parasites, I am beyond happy to be able to feed her a normal food from my favorite brand! She does great on this formula and has only had one hairball in the last couple of months.

I am also very happy with her stool quality. I think the high fiber in this formula is helping her produce solid and low-odor stool. She absolutely loves the taste too (of all cat food brands, she reacts the most positively to Purina Pro Plan).

Also, because Purina conducts scientific research, you know that the food will be nutritionally balanced. My “Purina kitty” and I say that you should definitely give this food a try!.

I was quite excited to receive this kitty VoxBox free from #Wellness and #Influenster just in time for my Ocicat, Kopi’s 17th birthday. Kopi has gotten a bit picky about what he will eat as he’s gotten older and mostly subsists on a diet that I don’t love nutritionally, but that he loves.

If he will eat it, he gets it is the new Kopi feeding rule in my house. Anyway, much to my surprise great pleasure Kopi likes this kibble ate quite a bit of it at his first sitting. I mix it in with the treats he gets because I do still prefer him to eat canned food since drinking water kidney problems can be issues with older cats.

My handsome boy has always been finicky. He’s choosy about where he sleeps, about who snuggles with him, he and most of all he’s a snob about what he eats. For the most part, this is a good thing. I admit that I might spoil him just a little bit! Homemade cat treats and high-quality cat food are all my big guy likes, and I do mean big, he’s half Maine, half Manx so he’s big and he talks ALL the time.

I was hesitant to try out a new cat food because he’s so finicky. I hate to see him not eat well because he wants to avoid his food. For dry cat food, it has a lot more odor than his normal brand. I took this to be a good thing, the list of ingredients explain why.

I really appreciate the short list of ingredients, there’s a lot packed into each of those servings! I gradually mixed Wellness grain free in with his normal food, until this was all I was giving him.

I noticed a difference right away, he gobbles it up instead of grazing like he normally does! At first I was concerned, although I’m excited he was enjoying a new cat food so much, at the same time I kept wondering if this was going to mean he ate more food.

But he doesn’t, and he doesn’t crave more either. I think that’s from the high quality lean proteins Wellness uses. He has a lot more energy, his coat looks even better, he’s all around a happier cat.

I consider this a definite win-win! He’s happier and that makes me happier – he even snuggles more! I think we found a new cat food!.

I received a bag of Wellness Dry Cat food and a can of Wellness wet food to try out and review. Well, I didn’t try it myself of course! But I did my best to interpret my kitties’ reactions to it. All in all, it seems like a good line to go with.

As far as my opinion on the food, I love that their food is grain free. Cats are obligatory carnivores and I tend to get frustrated with how much grain based filler is in cat food nowadays. As I stated, I didn’t eat the food myself.

sorry lol! But, the kibble in particular did smell like it would be appetizing. As far as my cats opinions, they were varied. I have three fur-babies and their tastes are all different. One cat ate her whole share of the wet food, one ate a few bites before moving on and the last one just smelled it and turned away.

To be fair, the last cat is unbelievably picky! The dry food on the other hand seemed like a bigger hit all around. They all seemed to enjoy it, even the picky one (though he didn’t eat as much as the other two).

So, I’d say this is a great healthy option to try. Really, it all depends on your cats tastes! As for my cat-kids, I believe I will purchase the dry food in the future considering even my picky little guy ate some of it!.

Love this dry food. The ingredients seem decently healthy and there are no ingredients that sound questionable. I had a cat that was allergic to something (we couldnt find out what) but we wanted to give him a diet that was more meat and more natural to cats in the wild.

This was a good find to give to him in his last years. The outdoor cats love it and go for this more times than the nine lives dry food that my dad buys to also put outside. I also buy the solid gold wet food.

And one cat in particular will take nothing else except solid gold. It was funny the vets we always went to told us that fancy feast/friskies/nine lives is like McDonald’s or crack for cats. When I heard this I started to care more about what I fed my cats.

I want to ensure that they live a long life and to not have it jeopardized by food ingredients from major name brands who are trying to stay afloat. I do the same with my own food. I also noticed with other cans or bags that are of seafood flavor that other brands will throw in chicken meat in before the seafood thats listed on the cans.

Solid gold doesn’t do this. So five stars in my book for that and for having good ingredients, and that it’s grain free as well. Cats don’t need grains they’re meat eaters. But a few vegetables are good too I guess; just feel grains are not necessary and is just an added filler.

Caramel and Taffy were fat cats, someone gave me my first bag and they loved it. I saw they were losing weight, so I continued to purchase ‘Solid Gold fit as a fiddle weight control with Alaskan pollock, grain-free, gluten-free, kibble good for gut health and overall immune support’.

I had a mother & her three kittens since December and couldn’t keep them out of it! they wanted it to. I bought the ‘Indigo Moon, high protein with Alaskan pollock and egg Alaskan pollock, not for diets and nobody wanted to eat that.

But the solid gold, weight control kibble it’s the bomb. Carmel is eating it right now. Lol.

I have tried so many different types of food for weight control or weight loss :both dry and wet for cats. Sadly to say it’s very hard to find something for weight loss -most are for weight management ; after they’ve already reached their desired weight loss.

With the help of your great employees, they found this dry food for my cat-I purchased a small bag and I am so thrilled to say he loves it!! I will be getting more in the future. I typically mix a couple of dry food together and put salmon oil for his coat to be smooth and shiny.

I would recommend this dry food if your cat likes seafood or salmon flavors and he needs to watch his weight.

I ordered this for my 13 Year old Tuxedo cat, who has a host of allergies to everything, and is picky. At first he did the usual hunger strike for a day. I finally threw in a handful of a food he loves, but can’t eat I gave the rest of the bag to my sister who has 3 cats.

They all hated it. She still kept a bowl down just incase and I continued mixing the food. Fast forward al most a Year. It took time, soon I noticed her cats sneaking into my room to eat my cat’s food he started eating it as well, I pulled the extra food I was mixing, my sister kept a bowl in her room.

She pulled her regular dry food they kept eating the Merrick. Now all the cats eat the food, they love it, their coats are shiny and eyes bright. I only gave the food 4 stars, We are going to pull the food from them.

they love it and my skinny Tuzedo cat who is now almost 14 years old never weighed more then 9lbs, every time his allergies flared he would lose 2 or 3lbs and lick off his fur. All of that had gone. The food is amazing Just one problem we noticed is affecting all of our cats My sisters are all 3 years old all never go outside.

All are getting FAT!! for the first time my scrawny Tuxedo cat, is at 11 1/2lbs his top weight is 12lbs. All the cats have good coats no allergies bright eyes even my old man is running and playing with the younger cats.

They all have pot bellies and hips, The only problem with this food is once they decide they like it, they get fat on it. I know an over weight cat is not healthy especially neutered males in senior years, so my 14 year old cat will be offered something else.

If I can find something else he loves so much that doesn’t effect his allergies. 🙁 I tried many foods over the years and failed. The food is amazing, given that it did not cause his allergies to flare, He thrived on this food, as did the other cats.

It is not the foods fault they are all pigs. Even pricey prescription foods did not do what this food did for my cat, did not flare his allergies, gave him a shiny coat, eyes and brought back his desire to play.

Now they all must go on a diet food. No one likes to diet, even cats. I am on the search for something new. I highly recommend this food. I will be looking for a diet food made by Merrick first.

This product works well for my all my cats. It is gentle on their stomach and helps with various allergies some of them have. It is really sad that since Purina bought out Merrick they are seeming to drop most of the Merrick line now.

We stopped giving Purina cat food to our cats because of so many recalls and health issues most minor and major that we could not afford to have them continue to have poor quality food. We will definitely be looking for another alternative wants the Merrick line has been totally changed over to a crappy Purina type brand.

It is so sad when you find a good quality food bought out by a conglomerate that really doesn’t care about quality and the last things to go massively downhill so quickly.

I don’t usually write reviews for cat food, yet here i am. I felt compelled to write this review purely because it has changed mine and my cats life. My cat was having the worst diarrhea and vomiting episodes that eventually led him to be hospitalized for multiple days.

He was on iv therapy, five medications, having blood test 2x a day for multiple days straight. Not only was this super expensive but because of covid we couldn’t even be with him at the vet. I was desperate to find a solution, finally my vet recommended this prescription diet for him.

Within a day of starting this food his diarrhea went away. When his stool was normal for the first time, i cried on the floor. He is also a super picky boy, and he loves this food and cleans his bowl.

As a pet parent, and someone who wants their fur baby to be healthy, this food has done that for me. If your cat is going through stomach problems, i highly highly recommended talking to your vet about a prescription for this food/ another specific line of hills food.

I’m willing to try anything once, and I admit i was skeptical that a food would solve our problems. However, just like food affects humans, it can have a huge impact on your cats health. 1000% recommend.

We had to get this variety of Rx dry cat food because our cat’s regular was out of stock and had been for months. It’s back now, of course, since I just got this. Lol. But our cat loves this variety too.

He tolerated it well, no reaction and no digestive system side effects, which happened with a different variety. I also liked that it comes in a few different sizes. We got the smallest one to try out.

Anyway, it was good and he loves it. So, can’t complain about that.

This food has keep my cat healthy, however getting this has been very difficult at times, these prescriptions are being allowed to be altered by the public on some sites! They often lose these prescriptions too! I am not talking about Petco as I am new to this retailer, time will tell.

If this were people prescriptions the drug stores would be in hot water over lost and edited prescriptions. Also this was ordered and they sent 2 large bags and 1 small one? I ordered 1 bag not 3. It arrived all damaged and smashed.

the bag i open is crumbs. But I am lucky my cat has food at all as it is very hard to order prescription cat food through this company as they often lose the prescription’s!.

My husband ordered the Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets OM Overweight Management Formula Dry Cat Food by mistake and it was the BEST MISTAKE MADE! My cat, Smokey Derby, Maine Coon/mixed don’t know?, has been on another type of Purina for 2 yrs with limited weight loss.

We rescued Smokey Derby when he was apx. 9 weeks old, from a blackberry bush that had a running stream, approximately 7 1/2 yrs. ago. I was thinking that he was getting bored with the other food. I opened this bag; gave it to him and he immediately began to eat it and hasn’t had any problems so far.

To be seen how much weight he will lose, but I am hopeful that the positive response received thus far is good.

My vet informed me that my cat was approximately 3 lbs above his ideal weight and prescribed me this food to help. It took him some time to get used to it, but eventually he started preferring this food over his old one (I fed him Taste of the Wild prior).

He was on the prescribed food for a year and reached his goal weight gradually. I tried to keep him on the food afterwards since it can also be used for weight maintenance, but he would never finish the suggested portion size for his weight.

I eventually felt like I needed to feed him additional boiled chicken breast or add cat toppers to his food in order to meet his caloric needs in order to prevent any unnecessary weight loss. Overall, a great product for weight loss!.

This food is not bad my cat likes the taste and it doesn’t upset her tummy. The only issue I have with it is the third ingredient on the package is corn. Corn is not healthy for cats; it is just a filler that pet food companies use to increase their profit margins.

Granted some cat foods have corn as the very first ingredient, and I would never ever buy those. Science diet has chicken as the very first ingredient, which is the only reason I’m still willing to purchase it, but ideally a cat food should not have ANY corn in it at all.

Additionally, I don’t see any promise on the package that Science Diet does not contain any meat by-product. If you want a cat food that has no corn, wheat, soy, or meat by-products check out Blue Buffalo.

It is more expensive though, and higher in calories than Science Diet. I guess there is no perfect cat food out there just yet. The bottom line is, if Science Diet truly had your cats health as their first priority, there would not be any corn in their cat food.

My boyfriend’s cat, Momo, is a very very sensitive boy, especially when it comes to his stomach. He had issues with him I’d say starting last year with vomiting, it got to the point where he was throwing up three or four times a week and his fur coat was getting spotty in some places and he was losing weight.

After a vet visit and lots of worry, we determined it was his food causing issues. We switched to Blue Buffalo in desperation and it has been amazing, 100% turnaround. He’s gained his weight back and some more healthy fat, his coat is gorgeous and soft to the touch, and he throws up now maybe once every two or three months (cuz hairballs).

Very satisfied, and while it’s on the more expensive side it’s worth it for us to see Momo happy. Will continue to be purchasing this food brand for our happy boy.

This cat food is worth it. I usually buy a less expensive brand, but my cat’s now diabetic & we wanted to clean up his diet where we could. When I saw that this was geared towards healthy skin/coat, I grabbed it.

(Our guy is having skin/ itching problems too) He absolutely LOVES this, as well as the others we’ve tried in this line. The ONLY issue I have with it is that there’s nothing on the label (that I can see) stating if it’s pate, flaked, chunks etc.

Normally we stick with pate (Oscar stopped eating anything else) but he’s enjoyed this line, regardless. THIS FLAVOR IS A PATE. It’s clear to see they use higher quality ingredients than the cheaper stuff, (duh right? But I was really surprised to see how different they REALLY are.

) & even though it doesn’t look great (is kind of a blah tan/grey color) it’s obviously YUMMY because it never lasts long after feeding. We’ve already bought more & highly recommend it! Note: I can’t speak to the skin/coat benefits right now due to all the health issues he currently has, but once that’s taken care of we’ll update our review.

My Kitty has been over grooming since I brought him home from the cat rescue. The vet was giving him shots for three years with only modest effectiveness. I have been feeding him this formula for about 2 months, and I am amazed and extremely grateful to Blue Buffalo.

He has stopped with the over grooming, no more dandruff flakes, his fur is almost completely filled in, and his coat is soft and shiny. He seems to be more relaxed, and I am a very happy cat mom!.

I was feeding my cats Solid Gold, which is a quality food, but they got tired of it and wanted something different. I saw this Blue Buffalo Fit & Healthy advertised here on Chewy and decided to give it a try, as they had a different Blue Buffalo recipe before and like it.

And success! All of my cats love this food. I have three cats, two are chonky, and one is a normal healthy weight. I am hoping this helps the two chonks lose weight, while maintaining the smaller one.

Their poop doesn’t stink with this food, and it keeps them regular. Their coats are nice and soft. They seem really happy on this food. My only complaint is that for the price of the food, I wish the bag was a few pounds bigger.

I’ve had my 5 cats on Iams Indoor for as long as I can remember. But one of my boys was just huge. The only one of the 5 who was fat. After some research I switched them to this food and switched their bowls to the ones where they have to use their hands to get the kibble out, so they can’t just eat mouthfuls of it at a time.

It took a while to completely switch them all the way over since I still had a lot of Iams left but after a few months on just BB F&H he is finally losing weight! He’s lost 2 lbs! I am so impressed! So if you decide to go with this one, please be patient.

I’ll never go back now!.

I have two cats that both have pretty big appetites so I have to be more aware of what I am feeding them for their health. One of my cats is older and a bit larger than the other one, and so I have been looking for a cat food like this, that is a lot healthier.

Their favorite cat food flavor is chicken and I knew that they would really like this one right away. The packaging is cute with the coral colored bag, that definitely stands out among the other cat food packagings.

I really enjoy the tear top as it really easy to open and dispense the food. I like that the bag is resealable as it keeps their cat food nice and fresh. My older cat was the first one to approach their cat bowl as the smell of the new food piqued his interest right off the bat.

My other cat quickly came over to check out the new food as well and they both started to eat right away. They can be picky over new food and I am so glad that they really enjoy this food as it makes me feel like a better fur mom.

I like that this cat food is made with better and more natural ingredients and that it helps keep my cats healthy as well as satisfied. I have recommended this cat food to my cat group as they want to take care of their cats the best they can as well.

I like that this cat food is not overpowering smelling either when I dispense it.

My cat has been prescribed this food for a couple of years since he was diagnosed with diabetes. He has been exclusively eating this type of dry food and he is not tired of it yet, so he must really likes it.

It helps him control his appetite and it seems to keep him full longer compared to regular store bought food. Even my non-diabetic, very picky eater cat likes this food. Additionally, shipping was fast and safely packaged! I usually order it from my vet, but for some reasons, they were out, and the pet store nearby my house did not have it either.

We were practically out, so I tried ordering from Chewy. It came the next day after I ordered, which was a great relief! I did not want to give my cat regular food in fear of changing the routine and perhaps changing his mind or food preference had he been given the taste of regular food he used to have, so I was glad that it came right away.

My cat is pre diabetic and the vet recommended Purina DM. He seemed to do well the first few months and loved the taste. We started to notice foul smelling stool, and softer stool, so I began mixing with another high protein food called Crave.

Seemed a little better, but then a few months later he started vomiting and diarrhea. Unfortunately, this formula did not seem to sit will with his tummy, so I am just starting a new formula.

This is about 7. 5% carbs per serving which is a little higher than my vet would like (she prefers 3%) but there’s really not many other DM brands that aren’t garbage and my cat was already on purina one sensitive and as a picky oramge the prince gets what he wants.

My cat had zero problems transitioning to this food, no GI upset and he just about tore into the bag to get to it. A year on and his sugars are normal (120-150 consistently) and his diet is supplemented with organic meat at shot time.

Highly recommend this food.

This is my Ragdoll’s favorite can of food. The sliced/pieces are small enough for our senior gal to eat with her teeth issues and soft enough that she doesn’t have any pain. She sifts through to isolate the carrots though, as they are not her favorite, but still eats a few.

Science Diet Hills is a brand I’ve trusted for decades. The shortage on cat food currently is something I didn’t think I’d see in my lifetime and I’ve been forced to buy some lesser brands to keep her fed.

She was overjoyed to have her favorite flavor back in the house! She ate 95% and was totally zonked out after her meal. I care about no preservatives, clean foods, so any changes you make to the food should be toward that end.

Anyway. , she is a pate lover most of all, but this flavor is one she devours regardless!.

Absolutely wish I had been feeding this to my senior cats for years! My petite female cat is now 15 years old and over the past few years, has become exceptionally picky about what she will eat. Anything with chunks is a hard “no” from her.

I was feeding her a pate, but she became disinterested in even that. I’d notice she was just licking her food. So, low and behold, I discover that there is food specifically for senior cats and I gave it a try! I expected the same old pate, but this is remarkably soft and smooth, and my cats both devour it.

It reminds me of soft-serve ice cream in texture, and my female cats just licks it until the bowl is clear and clean. I feel so bad that for these past few years, I wasn’t accommodating her needs for a softer food, and I’m so glad I found it at last.

I needed an alternate for the Hill’s W/D wet food for my senior cat. This was one of the suggestions by the vet, since she is senior and needs fiber. The texture is almost like a firm sticky pudding.

She didn’t like it, I offered it to my other senior cat. He wouldn’t eat it either. I tried mixing this with other wet food just so they still get some ‘safe’ food. Ended up throwing out most of the opened cans.

Now i;m going to return half a case to the store. In the mean time, I bought Purina senior food which they all love and are doing well.
