20 Best Low Cal Protein Powder (2023 Updated)

This is the best protein mix I’ve tried. It’s got the highest protein to the lowest carbs, so if you’re looking for something like that first thing in the morning to manage blood sugar this is a great mix to try.

Since I’m not big on breakfast to begin with (and skipping breakfast is not good for my insulin resistance), a protein shake with this mix is a good compromise. I put a few ice cubes in a Ninja blender cup, pour in a little vanilla unsweetened almond milk, two scoops of this, maybe 1 Tbsp of PB Fit, fill the almond milk to the line, then blend.

It’s awesome. When I use the PB Fit it tastes like a peanut butter cup. And it’s still low carb enough to be healthy in the morning. I had to buy a different brand because this one is continually (very irritatingly) out of stock and it’s awful and tasteless and not as low carb.

I like this brand best.

The flavor is tolerable (as is the chocolate – really hate the strawberry). Adding a 1/2 tsp of “dutched” cocoa powder makes a big improvement. It’s helped with my bowel function, and the minimal lactose helps my wife’s IBS.

And, I we’re getting more protein, which we supposedly need as we age. Still, it seems relatively expensive, and it’s pretty much the same price no matter were you look.

Here’s the deal- will this taste like chocolate milk? Absolutely not. Does this have a weird grainy texture- a little bit. But is it a decent protein power with pretty good macros- absolutely. It’s decently sweet, there’s a slight (and I mean incredibly slight) salty taste.

If you’re really trying to commit to your health and get your protein in, this is an excellent option. I’m not a fitness junkie, just trying to look hot in a wedding dress, so I feel like I am pretty trustworthy on my protein powder reviews.

This is the protein powder I have been searching for. I have tried many others and this is the one that checks all the boxes. I especially like that it has a nice light natural vanilla taste. So many others with various different kinds of sweeteners are sickeningly sweet.

The taste and texture of this product is perfect and almost completely lactose free. It mixes up easily. You really don’t even need a blender. I put it in a jar and shake it real well and it is ready to drink.

You would only need a blender of some sort if you wanted to add fruit or supplements to it. I am really pleased with this product and the price is reasonable especially for a grass-fed milk product with 20 grams of protein per serving.

Eating healthy, maintaining my weight and fitness is important to me. I’ve been using Quest products for several years now. Truthfully have not been disappointed with any products I’ve tried by Quest.

The Salted Caramel Protein Powder is a staple in our home. I generally have a shake mid to late afternoon, adding in my supplements along with Almond Milk, a handful of ice cubes and blend. When finished the consistency reminds me of a milkshake.

Tastes great and feels like I’m cheating, all the while knowing I’ve done something great for my body and got all my supplements in for the day.

I want to start by saying that I love a lot of BPN products. BPN in general has provided awesome customer service and top notch product marketing and presentation. BPN whey has me wanting a little bit more in some cases.

I’ve purchased tubs of multiple flavors over the last year. Here is my brief overview…. Let’s start with the 5 star stud of the stable, Nutter Bar Blast. We hear about this from Nick on YouTube so often and rightfully so.

The flavor is incredible. It mixes well with any liquid and does well with cooking and is killer with the morning oats. I’ll buy this flavor until the end of time. It’s hands down the best tasting and best textured whey I’ve ever used.

Cinnamon Roll. This is 2 maybe 3 stars at best in my opinion. I love you guys, but as a fellow entrepreneur/business owner I will always give my honest feedback whether it’s good bad or indifferent. The flavor just doesn’t say cinnamon roll to me.

It’s not the worst powder I’ve had, but I think there’s room for improvement. This flavor doesn’t mix as well as all other BPN wheys I’ve used. Even in cooking applications, the texture just isn’t there like the others.

It comes off gritty. In cooking it gets cakey… almost like adding isolate to something that’s too hot. Apple Pie… 4 stars. This gets 5 if the flavor was ramped up more. It cooks and mixes well, but the flavor is a tad weak compared to some the other apple pie offerings that I’ve used over the years.

Fudge Chocolate … 4 stars. This is a standard chocolate for me. There’s no wow factor, but let’s be honest. If you’re grabbing chocolate or vanilla from any brand, you’re not looking for something to knock your shorts off.

Overall on performance and taste I’ve got this group of powders at 3. 5… just above average. HOWEVER… keep in mind average is not a bad thing. I’m going with 4 stars on the whole review because of the product value.

Pricing at the time of review is $39. 99 per tub without using any codes at checkout. Finding whey at this price that blends well, cooks well and doesn’t taste like a dirty cow hoof can be tough. For a small company that’s still young or a “startup” (to quote Nick) … they’re on the right track.

The products are good quality and a good value across the board. Even with today’s supply chain issues, they’re offering solid products at fair prices. Keep up the good work guys! GO ONE MORE!.

This protein powder is alright. Fudge Chocolate, Nutter Bar Blast, Apple Pie are the flavors that I got and I put them in order of best to worse (in my opinion). They are better when mixed with milk.

I have bought other flavors from BPN before but this batch, all three, seem to have issues with clumping. Takes at least 9 ounces of liquid to even get close to fully breaking up a single level scoop when mixed in a standard shaker bottle.

I would likely only get the Fudge Chocolate again. I would say the price is right for what I got, considering I got the military/veteran discount. I have had the Blueberry Muffin before and it was good(in milk).

Also have their creatine, love it. I would buy BPN again, but I would love to see more fruity flavors (strawberry or banana cream). Hoping the clumping issue is just a bad run and not an issue with later orders.

Nothing is worse than dozens of gritty gooey bits getting stuck in your teeth or hitting the back of your throat.

I just repurchased cinnamon roll last week 17 Sep. This WAS the best of this flavor, but the new one I just received has different ingredients than the previous and the difference in taste is SIGNIFICANT.

Nothing like it was before. This WAS the best powder…. it’s not anymore. Previous Ingredients (amazing flavor): Instanitized whey protein concentrate, micellar casein, natural and artificial flavor, cinnamon, salt, gum blend (cellulose blend, xanthan gum, carrageenan), sucralose, acesulfame potassium.

New ingredients (not great flavor): whey protein concentrate, native micellar casein, natural flavor, salt, cinnamon, xanthan gum, cellulose gum, guar gum, sucralose. I don’t know which ingredients or balance of ingredients made the difference, but it is a BIG difference.

I suppose the company decided to re-title this product. I’d previously purchased it called, “Muscle Milk Powder, ‘LIGHT. ‘ ” Evidently, it’s now called, “Muscle Milk Powder, ‘100 CALORIE. ‘ ” However you refer to it, this protein shake is just as good as it ever was.

When using a proper, handheld mixing shaker the results are fantastic. The powder mixes completely and with a froth on top. The chocolate flavor is great. (Whatever you do, don’t try to stir it by hand – you’ll just wknd up with a mouthful of protein lumps.

) BTW – a proper handheld mixing shaker is inexpensive and is readily available in most stores that sell kitchen items such as supermarkets.

Good product (light taste, solid protein content, no sugar, blends well) but if container and quantity of powder get any smaller and the price goes up past $24, it won’t be a good value. But this is the current problem with everything in late 2022.

Great Taste and incredible nutrition for 100 calories?! What a deal. Unfortunately, like every other powdered drink it takes some work 2 to get it to mix well. Use a blender if you can. I’ve tried the vanilla too and it’s wonderful.

I posted a review on 06/17/21 for the dutch chocolate protein powder and tried to see if I could add/edit but doesn’t give the option. Anyways, that flavor was not pleasant for me at all no matter the different methods of consumption.

Literally a couple of days after posting the review a member from Legion contacted me so they can send me a replacement powder (so sweet of them). The process of receiving a replacement was so quick, and easy.

I seriously appreciate it and am a true witness of the guarantee claimed by Legion, I was not expecting them to do that. Now on the Cinnamon Cereal flavor. … my God! It’s delicious. Literally a treat!.

I have a Blendjet so all I did was put in a scoop of cinn. cereal powder w/extra creamy oat milk, spun it, and made the most delicious smoothie. It was sooo smooth! The flavor was sweet but not overbearing, was literally a treat.

No protein taste after nor protein grainy feeling in the mouth/throat. Seriously perfect I was shook about how good it tastes and am excited to use it in oats, French toast, pancakes, etc. highly highly recommend, especially with the oat milk.

Flavor & texture is perfect.

Legion Whey+ was my third attempt at trying to find the perfect protein powder. I really wanted to like it, because it’s got so much great stuff going for it in terms of sourcing and seeming like a brand with a lot of transparency.

But it’s just not something I can drink every day after a lift session. I ordered the Dutch Chocolate since it’s the most popular. But even when diluted with just 8oz of water, for me, the chocolate taste was hardly there.

There’s also a noticeable aftertaste from the Stevia. I’ll admit I’m really picky about the taste of artificial sweeteners, but there’s even a strange mouthfeel to me. I DO want to say that the overall texture of the product blended with water was creamy and smooth, which I appreciated after finishing a tub of plant-based protein powder that left my shakes kinda gritty.

But that just wasn’t enough to make up for its taste. Sorry, guys!.

It’s not going to taste like a milkshake or extremely chocolate flavor like other brands. I see knocks on the flavor, but flavor to me isn’t worth artificial potentially dangerous ingredients. I don’t need to enjoy my protein shake that much, its gone in 10 seconds.

The flavor isn’t horrible, it’s only noticed if you’re shifting from a very sweet brand/flavor, or if you’re a sweet drink person like soda and juices, chocolate milk, etc. The flavor doesn’t bother me.

I personally only do 1 scoop at a time, 25 grams, thats enough for 1 serving, so really for me its 44 servings. Sometimes Ill mix it with almond milk and its great. In my 20s I didn’t care, but now mid 30s I refuse to drink “artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners” written right on the label.

or “sucrolose” or “aspartame” or “asuflame” no thank you. This is just cane sugar and coco. Theres no fillers if you look at scoop size and protein grams.

I have been using a vegan protein for about 3 months to aid in recovery after workouts and while I am very pleased with its natural taste, the carbs were a bit high and the protein was just not enough for my daily goal of 150g.

I am a female and was contemplating some of the gender targeted whey proteins but was not happy with all of the artificial ingredients added to the majority of them and during my research came across a few reviews for Isopure.

The serving size for the Natural Chocolate is 2 scoops but I typically like around 1. 5 scoops (still only 180 cal with 37. 5g of protein) mixed with around 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk, LOVE the taste.

Coming from a grassier vegan option, this is the perfect balance of sweetness for me. I dont like the overly sweet flavors and really like that the few carbs this does have, come from the cocoa powder, that I can live with.

I have seen other reviews complain about the taste but I assume they may be more accustomed to the sweeter proteins out there. This is my new go to, it feels like I’m drinking a malt not a protein shake.

The bcaas and glutamine are an added bonus! While the price per container seems high, given the serving size I use, I assume I can get at least a month out of the 3lb container which is almost half of what I was paying for the vegan option (I’m not a vegetarian just liked the taste and benefits of greens).

That being said, Nature’s Best has a great reputation for using quality ingredients and knowing exactly what I’m putting in my body is worth the price – I actually think its a good value given the breakdown of the nutrients I’m getting.

As far as the consistency is concerned – no complaints, was very smooth, not too thin, not too thick, definitely didnt clump at all. I imagine it will taste even better blended with ice or a banana but love it on its own as well.

I really believe Muscle Feast is the best — most balanced and cleanest — protein powder I have found. I recently read Bigger Leaner Stronger by Mike Matthews (which gave me tools I’ve needed for YEARS, and explained why my workouts are not having the effect I’d wanted — it was diet).

While I use Muscle Feast’s “Recover” product immediately after my workouts, I use the PREMIUM protein blend for protein snacks at other times of day to bring my protein levels up. I do this while cutting for fat loss because I am trying to maintain or even gain muscle at the same time — heaven forbid I LOSE LEAN mass.

I usually mix one HALF scoop with 8-10 oz. of 1% milkfat milk, or else unsweetened Almond milk (the latter to keep calories down for my cut; I’m going for 1800 calories a day, as a 147lb 5’8” male at 29 years old).

Doesn’t taste as SWEET as other brands like Gold Standard, but now, when I go back to try those other brands, they taste way TOO sweet and artificial. As long as they keep their prices reasonable, I’m sticking with Muscle Feast for the long haul.

Overall this is a good protein. I mixed with 8 oz of water initially and found that to be way to waters down and pretty horrible to drink. I dropped to 6 oz which was still too watery and the taste of course didn’t improve.

I changed to 6 oz of almond coconut milk which gave the mixture at least some flavor and it became tolerable. I believe this is a good protein, especially since it is right at 90% per serving. I like that and the fact that it doesn’t have any artificial sweetener.

The taste is bland and bad with just water and taste a bit soured. Not knocking it, I expected this since I was used to drinking flavored whey. In my opinion no whey product taste great, they are tolerable at best.

On another note, the unflavored caseine is horrendous!!! Terrible taste and does NOT mix well even in a shaker bottle. Very clumpy and terrible taste. Will not purchase that particular product again, I’m considering throwing it in the trash.

I’m used to another flavore caseine that I seriously looked forward to drinking every single night before bed. It did have artificial sweetener hence the reason I wanted to try this product, well if I can’t even stomach it, It’s not worth trying to be more health conscious and get away from artificial sweetners.

So, back to researching other caseine and maybe just going back to what I know taste good and is a pretty decent product but not quite the macros of muscle feast.

Bought the Chips Ahoy flavor and this by far is one of the best flavored proteins I’ve had. I’m a young guy (19) and I’ve mainly had muscle milk, core life elites, and other random protein shakes. Yes there is random bits of chips ahoy in the actual powder so you can’t separate it (but why would you want to do that when the reason you bought the flavor was for the chips ahoy?) And it does provide for weird moments of drinking it and sometimes swallowing bits without chewing on them.

Now the bits aren’t like you are gonna choke on it and die, they are just like crumbs so you can actually feel when they hit the back of your throat and go down so be careful when drinking this if you have a bad gag reflex.

The bits also cause moments where you finish your shake, but then you look into your shaker or cup and see some chocolate chips that sunk to the bottom. See it however you want but I took it as a tiny treat for after my shake.

Overall kinda taste like milk after you dunk chips ahoy into it, not exactly that taste, but still pretty solid overall. The times I’ve taken the shake it isn’t very chalky like muscle milk can be but that might also just be how you like your shakes consistency.

I’ve went through containers of both Oreo and nutter butter and they were the worst protiens I’ve ever had. The hype of the brand initially got me I saw stuff of people saying it tasted so good and all the branding seemed legit.

When i say these protiens are disgusting I mean it. I used to have to plug my nose and chug it and would gag after. They are so thick even with water. The orea and nutter butter don’t taste like Oreo or nutter butter and they smell disgusting and they taste like vomit.

I would save your money. Once I tried gold standard and iso100 it seemed like a miracle that not all protien was like that. I recommend iso100 fruity pebbles if you want something like that tastes exactly like it.

I might just be over reacting but even though thinking about drinking the nutter butter one again makes me want to throw up.

**Accidentally wrote my review for this on the wrong flavour, so this is my review for chocolate** I have had low calorie protein powder before that were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately that brand is no longer in stock at H&B, and so I stumbled upon this product as a potential replacement.

First impressions upon opening the bag was that the powder was very clunky and didn’t want to break up. I mixed it in with my overnight oats anyway, eager to try it using roughly 30g, and what was the most disappointing for me was the lack of flavour it has.

I could barely taste any chocolate to it at all. I’ve only had two scoops of it and will be looking to buy a new product immediately.

PhD makes outlandish claim that it tastes of Belgian chocolate – not in this universe! Not at all like chocolate, barely even hazelnut flavour, with a gritty, chalky texture (even after vigorous shaking to mix) & a flat, slightly bitter, artificial aftertaste.

Just kak. Gets two stars for supplying the protein constituent it claims, but that’s all. Other brands like Optimum (worth the extra money) put this to shame. Please restock Optimum, Asda!.

I really like PhD Diet powders. I have been using them for a couple of years. They taste great (I find they don’t have what I can only describe as a weird dairy-protein taste overlay) and I LOVE the consistency; it is what drew me to the range and why I continue to stick with it.

I want my ‘protein shakes’ to have an actual shake-like consistency, rather than simply being what is effectively sweet water, which is what I find other protein powders result in. For those that complain this does not mix properly: as long as you put in the water first and the powder on top, you should have no issues using a protein shaker with mesh ball (I consume one scoop at a time).

I also put in an ice cube so that might help, too. I do agree that my memories of attempting this without a shaker/ball and/or just trying to use a spoon to mix it are not so fond. I would advise shaking this anyway to get the thicker ‘shake’ consistency.

With regards to the chocolate flavour, I do not find this too sweet by any stretch and am somewhat surprised by those reviewers that do. My comparison is MyProtein, which is god awfully sweet, in any flavour.

The chocolate flavour tastes really good, too; I would say the chocolate smell is stronger than the actual chocolate taste itself, though this is the first chocolate-flavour powder I have tried so I have nothing to compare it too.

I also have the White Chocolate Raspberry (tasty, but UNREAL with a small handful of real raspberries shaken in); the Cherry Bakewell (good; personally I wouldn’t buy it again but only because I really like other flavours instead.

Otherwise there are people who rave about the flavour); and the Cookies and Cream (I cannot really remember the flavour but it was the first one I ever purchased so it must have been good as it turned me into a repeat customer).

As a disclaimer: if you have not tried PhD Diet powders before and are looking for something to mix into anything other than liquid, this may NOT be the powder for you. I tested two powders (PhD Diet and MyProtein, which makes a very watery shake) with Greek yogurt in equal proportions (yogurt in grams, powder in tablespoon measures).

MyProtein mixed in superbly, while the PhD resulted in a very thick, fluffy, paste-like substance. Perhaps I should have tried adding water to see how it resulted thinned out but hey ho. Summary: PhD Diet powders taste great and will result in a lovely, thick shake-like drink that is enjoyable on its own.

The chocolate flavour is not too sweet, doesn’t have an after taste, and has a nice flavour. If, however, you are looking for a powder to mix into yogurt or similar, this might not be the best choice.

The product itself has no bad review for me, full five stars!! Just rating the “flavors” here blatantly straightforward as possible after sampling them all. Which ones taste as closely accurate to their depicted foods and which liquid is best paired with it.

Out of 10 1. Cake Pop *n/a – tbh my thoughts on this flavor is too bias, so no rating for me on this 2. PB Cookie *8. 5/10 – taste close to an off brand nutter butter cookies, they are semi sweet and have a minor PB flavor.

Best paired with either water or milk of choice (MoC) 3. Frosted Choco Cake *5/10 – taste like store bought cupcakes, not a very good chocolate flavor, but taste somewhat better with milk 4. Choco PB Cup *8/10 – taste similar to a protein pb cup snack rather than a reese’s.

Pretty sweet if using milk, best with MoC 5. Cookies & Cream *8. 5/10 – taste similar to the halo top protein ice cream, but sweeter. Good with both MoC or water 6. Snickerdoodle *9/10 – taste like maple brown sugar oatmeal by the quaker oats brand, a little sweeter than most of the options, tastes better with water (Hands down my personal favorite) 7.

Choco Mint Cookie *6/10 – tastes like a keebler elf version of thin mints rather than girl scouts thin mint cookies, more chocolaty than minty. Good with MoC or water 8. Gourmet Vanilla *6/10 – taste like any good ol basic vanilla protein on the market.

Very simple flavor, richer/creamy with MoC or just water, either way is good 9. Strawberry Cheesecake *5/10 – taste like store bought cheesecake and the strawberry flavor is good, not strongly sweet or under sweet.

Good with MoC.

If you don’t like the sweetness of the other flavors, this one is better (I like the line of protein powders, and I usually mix with a bunch of stuff so the sweetness doesn’t bother me as much) then the other flavors.

The reason I keep returning to PES is the overall flavor and the ability to bake with PES. 100% casein is best, but this one works pretty well too. I rarely just blend with water, but when I do it mixes really well compared to other brands (ON and Dymatize).

Most days I mix with Greek yogurt, fruit, creatine, milk, and frozen fruit, and this is where the powder stands out most for me. It adds a touch of sweetness to the shake, and, most importantly, it blends really well.

The variety of flavors from PES is good, and I haven’t had one I dislike thus far. For the shakes I make, they come out rich, creamy and generally filling. Cake pop: I knocked a star off because the cake flavor is quite subtle.

I wasn’t expecting a mouthful of Starbucks cakepop, but it was still pretty week. If you are hoping for a strong cake pop flavor, you won’t get it. Having said that, it’s not bad at all; it just doesn’t hit your tongue with cake pop.

It bakes pretty well, and I just used this powder to make pumpkin muffins which came out pretty good. I usually use a casein only, and I cooked for a tad too long; but the inside was still really moist and doesn’t have the cardboard effect of Whey only protein.

The chocolate cookie mint flavor was sold out, but I received an email within a few days that it was back in stock! After falling out of love with 1st Phorm’s products and company, I’m so happy to have found something EVEN BETTER! This was a great way to try other flavors. I also love that you can buy them in 1 serving. + actually science and no bs descriptions. Great independent reviews (unlike 1st Phorm who was reported to have lead in their products!!!) Could be better: + still thick when mixed with 8oz of water.

10oz was better, but still not as smooth as 1st Phorm mixed with only 4 oz of water (I like to neck it all at once so this matters) + return policy— 1st Phorm let’s you return something if you hate it (their vegan protein was terrible).

OK, so this product had me really frustrated at first. I put it in the bottom of my coffee cup and put it under my Keurig, and it did nothing but clump right up. The next time I boiled water and added it to plain water thinking maybe the coffee was the problem, still clumped.

I finally realized that the temperature was too high which was causing that. That was not labeled clearly on the product like other powders. Now that I have used it in an appropriate temperature it is absolutely wonderful! Thankfully I only wasted two scoops figuring that out.

My favorite protein! This stuff is awesome. I use it every morning to start my day. Dissolves easily in my unsweetened vanilla almond or oat milk! It’s a lifesaver for someone like me who used to skip breakfast before my surgery.

Jump starts my daily protein requirement.

You really can’t taste it. It will make the color of your drink a bit darker especially if it’s just flavored water or those 1g sugar Apple Juice. Be sure to put it in cold water FIRST, shake it/blend it completely if you plan to add it to hot food or else it will just clump up and not mix.

I learned that the hard way.

I buy the chocolate and the vanilla. The pouches dissolve great after a few shakes just like advertised. Honestly, its just nice and simple to throw one in and shake it up instead of measuring and having another spoon around and powder spill.

Two packets also shake up no problem if you are feeling extra protein needy or want more of a meal replacement. They taste great without really that fake sugar taste that is so common. I tend to use half milk and half water and it its great.

Nice having some easy to use lean protein with no sugar. Bottom line if you think this is a product you could like, you probably will like it.

I’ve used lots of protein powders over the years, but this is by far the best I’ve had! I love the variety of flavors and the versatility in using it (check out Diana’s recipe blog!). I just started ordering the individual packets because they travel whey (see what I did there 😉) better than the larger tub/bag.

I’ve brought it on vacation to make sure I get enough protein during the day, minimize spending, and something sweet to ward off any unhealthy food cravings.

Great flavor! Packaging is perfect. Single serve pack makes preparing the drink easier. Unlike preparing smoothies, where you have many ingredients to measure and mix, Trulean’s packs are self contained with enough nutrients that the 3 step process to make is perfect.

Absolutely fantastic. Definitely show muscle gains. It tastes as good as it smells. I use to use Wieder products back in the day, Metabolic is amazingly different. No bloating, no gas and no heebie jeebies.

I got the milk chocolate flavor and personally love it. The powder dissolves easily and tastes amazing with either water or milk. I sometimes do 50% water and 50% milk and it tastes so good that way.

I’ve noticed that my muscles are getting stiffer as well since I started taking this protein, when I flex and feel my muscles they are wayyy more solid than what they were feeling like before. While writing this review I just now realized I haven’t had any stomach issues with the protein as well.

So far my experience with this protein powder is definitely up there with some of the best all around for me. Also, I’m not sure if this matters to anyone but the container is extremely high quality.

The lid screws on smoothly and I love that the tub is clear so that I can see exactly how much I have left.

Product specific I give this order a solid 5 Stars! It’s great protein, tastes great, and digests easily. I have other health issues so that last part is of major importance to me. I have it a 3, this delivery only I hope, because of the way that it arrived.

The box was crushed, so in turn, so were both containers of protein. I’m just so happy I still have last months containers to switch it into. Fingers crossed the delivery end of my order improves greatly next month.

The way supplement that I am currently taking it was recommended to me by my trainer and since taking it and it’s been about almost a month now I have started to see significant gains in my forearms pectorals overall my performance in the gym and out of it.

I am seriously impressed for the longest time I believed that you only needed to take supplements if you were not eating properly to gain the natural protein from the intake of your diet. However it is clear that still supplements are definitely return from the current mindset that I had previously.

Lastly I say the texture blends perfectly together regardless of what I use as a bond whether that’s almond milk or water. This is definitely a game changer for my workouts.

Pros: This stuff tastes AMAZING! It’s almost overly sweet, but not high in carbs fortunately. It tastes like a take 5 candy bar. It kept my full for longer than expected (FYI I use this as a meal replacement when I have to skip breakfast, like if I’m running late), all the way to lunch time.

It completely dissolves (I use a coffee/milk frother). No chalky mouth feel or vitamin-y taste. Cons: this ish is EXPENSIVE ! It’s half the size of Optimum Nutrition for a similar product/price, meaning it costs literally double.

ON is pretty top tier, so this price is honestly depressing. I knocked 1 star off for the price. If ON can make high quality stuff at half the price, I feel this product is just way overpriced. So, tastes good, works well, costs way too much.

Will I buy it again? Unfortunately yes, because I’m a sucker. I mean…because it tastes good (and works to kill my hunger).

This is a great protein powder for the texture of it and the way it blends so well, but I can’t really get past the flavor to use it consistently. It has a creaminess to it like you’re eating the center of an Oreo, which I love, but tastes too sweet for me.

It’s not like a sugary sweet either, but maybe like a sweetener sweet? And I’ve tried this with just water and just unsweetened almond milk. I definitely make a smaller shake with this to try and drink it “quicker” whereas other shakes I want to drink as long as possible.

I will keep trying other flavors because I do enjoy Alani Nu products.
