This book is amazing. No words can describe the perfection of Puuung’s art. The paintings are really sweet and so perfectly capture the essence of everyday life situations in which couples show how much they love each other.

Maybe you are familiar though her artworks and have seen many of her paintings online, but there’s a huge difference to actually have them in your hands in a printed book! Really exquisite! The binding and the quality of the paper are superb.

And there’s no need to know Korean at all! Every page has a QR code that takes you to the official website where each painting has its title and content translated into English. You can scan them every time, or once you’ve scanned the first one you can skip the pages in the website to see the following painting and its translation.

I mean, you can read your printed book and simultaneously skip the images on the website and read the translations. And if you get tired of doing that, you can do as I did. I wrote every translation on the book with fine letters with a pencil 😉 However, as others have said, you don’t need to read at all anyway, cause the paintings talk for themselves.

All in all, the book is perfect for couples who tenderly love each other and appreciate the little things in everyday life. Highly recommended!!!!!.

Even if you don’t read Korean, this is a sweet book. It is full of the little things couples do to create a comfortable and lovely love. The second volume of this book is just as good. Of course, if you do read Korean, it is even sweeter.

This book is not published in English, so be aware that the book is written in Korean.

All the illustrations are beautiful and well printed. The book has many pages, on each double page there’s an illustration and a text (in Korean), but also a QR code that sends to Puuung’s blog and thus read the description in English.

this book is simply beautiful as well as heartbreaking. it follows the intense journey of protagonist Macy, who has to come to terms with her past when she (in a sense) reunites with her first love Elliot.

Personally, I absolutely love second chance romance, as it portrays the raw emotion the characters feel towards each other so clearly, and in such a tear-jerker way. I cried through every second of this book, and I still get a little sad when I think about this book.

It’s almost astonishing, how much power this book holds in order to make a reader feel so intensely about the story. bottom line, loved every second of this book.

Dr Emerson Eggerichs has hit the nail on the head! The concepts of the Crazy Cycle, Love & Respect, the Energizing Cycle, and the Rewarded Cycle really work. They are based on Biblical concepts and evidence themselves completely when applied whole heartedly.

Not only does he explain what the underlying problems are in most marriages, he gives great advice and tips on how to implement the truths in everyday life. The concepts here apply in other relationships as well.

Wish I had read this book years earlier in my failing marriage. Newly divorced, devastated and desperate for answers, I heard the author and his wife interviewed on Focus on the Family and thought, I need to read that book! I bought a used copy off of e-Bay and discovered a lot of truth I wish my ex-wife and I had applied in our relationship.

I bought further copies of the book off e-bay for each of my five children and recommended that for they and their spouses read it. I bought an extra copy to send to my ex-wife, waiting a few years for the right time to send it.

When I finally did, I told her, if we ever get back together, we need to start with this book and build from here and attend one of the author’s seminars together.

Upon reading more this book is a workbook that is meant to compliment the 1st book?? When I ordered the book I was a little mislead because I never saw the companion listed that supplements this book, now I will begin the hunt for the 1st book Lol.

This book contains some helpful tips on relating to one’s spouse. However, it contains too much sexism, for instance, calling men the leaders, but not REQUIRING them to lead (stating that the “more mature” person should take the lead whether man or woman.

) That’s practical, but why not require leaders to lead?! Eggerichs makes the point that wives need to respect their husbands, and husbands need to love their wives, but it seems clear that scripturally, both genders need both.

The author does say that both genders need both love and respect, but that’s not the point of his text, in fact, it’s the antithesis of his overall thrust, so it’s a disconnect every time he undercuts his thesis.

I encourage the reading of 1Peter 3:8-9 which instructs both partners to live harmoniously, sympathetically, brotherly, not giving insults but blessings. Eggrichs coins the term “crazy cycle” for an argument or escalating disagreement.

He gives some practical helps in dealing with these, but doesn’t get to the root issues that precipitate the disagreement. I have known professionals who worked with the mentally disturbed and they bristle at the term “crazy” and find it inappropriate.

In this case, I agree, because it is not a crazy cycle; people of sound mind but hurt, disappointed or in some other way affected may find themselves arguing. but they are not crazy. I would not recommend this book, even though it may help some.

There are many much more inspiring texts on relating to one’s spouse.

Love and Respect is an awesome workbook to the dvd’s and the hardback also in this group. It has many marriage helps within its cover. It shows that woman need love and men need respect. And because of that, it makes man and woman just different, not wrong in their opinions.

It shows how woman and men think things out differently, but so the opposite sex can understand their mate better. I would reccomend this book to those who are married and to those who are not because it can help in just about any relationship.

From one to ten, I would give it a 10!.

A book everyone needs to read at least once. I have now read it twice, and will happily find the time to read it a third. Dolly has so much to share and represents so many women within her writing. Everyone will take something away from reading this.

I bought this book for my grandson who lives 12 hours away…it’s important he knows he’s love “Near and Far”…what better way to say it than with a book he can hold and read daily!

Doyle put in to words the way I feel like no other author. I’ve read all of the books by Brene Brown (LOVE her work – must read!!) as well as other contemporary authors. None have touched me like Doyle did.

With the exception of a few slow sections I plowed through this book quickly, loving every word. One caveat – Doyle is religious, and her religion plays a featured role in this work. Much of this can be skimmed if you are not religious.

I read this book after I read Untamed. It gives a lot of background not shared in Untamed. Both books were incredible and I highly recommend them. Glennon talks straight as an arrow, no pretense, no airs.

Easy to relate to no matter what your story is.

This book had me from the beginning! Glennon’s story is compelling, inspiring and interesting. It’s so thought provoking that I have passed it onto a friend so that we can discuss it. I will definitely be buying the sequel when it comes out later this year.

The story in this novel is heartbreakingly beautiful. Gabriel Garca Marquez is a master of storytelling. After two young lovers are torn apart by a well meaning father who is trying to protect his daughter, her love-sick suitor languishes over her for half a century.

You will read how pain & loss can change a person and the events in their life. The girl ends up married to someone else and he goes on to have numerous love affairs in an attempt to fill the empty void she has left in his heart.

When he hears that her husband has died, he returns to proclaim his love for her again. I won’t give the end away. The story tell us that love is timeless and neverending in our hearts and mind, because we want to keep it that way, precious and innocent.

It’s hard to imagine that reuniting with your love after 50 years will makes up for all the pain and agony that has passed in that time. I’m glad to see this book being read again. It will stay a classic for a long time.

This is the most gorgeous book I’ve ever read, it’s an interesting story that you might thoroughly loved it. Readers looking for more than just a good book will be well satisfied. This book was originally written in Spanish, and was probably a wonderfully crafted piece of literature in the author’s native language.

Don’t believe the hype. If this book had never been made into a movie that has become a beloved classic among those who were parents in the 80’s and their children who grew up watching it, nobody would have ever read this travesty.

In fact, I intend to look up the sales numbers of this book before and after its film release. It focuses, not on The Princess Bride, a fictional story written by William Goldman which he fictionalizes as having been written by another writer, but on Goldman himself.

You don’t open the book and begin with a sick child and his sweet grandfather. No, you open it and begin with a story of Goldman’s infatuation with his teacher, a little bit about his father who reads to him in broken English (which is not as endearing as you might think), and Goldman complaining about his mundane life with his Type A wife, a child psychologist, and their overweight son who “wobbles” (Goldman’s word, not mine).

Move along to Goldman in Hollywood where he attempts to have an affair with a young woman who is sleeping her way into the movies. Then after some time finally you get to “The Princess Bride” which is fictionally “abridged” by Goldman.

So, he inserts his own remarks along the way. The problem is that the writing of “Morgenstern” is repetitive and identical to Goldman’s. He replays the same boring jokes over and over again – in both voices.

Another problem is that he brags on himself. As “Goldman,” he constantly praises “Morgenstern” who is actually Goldman. Then the parts he didn’t want to write – he just inserts a complaint about how “Morgenstern” failed and moves along to the next redundant portion of the story.

Move along to “the end” where “Morgenstern” does not write an ending and Goldman goes on for pages where he drops names (such as Stephen King) and talks about his own successes. The book is about 450 pages but they move quickly.

That’s partly due to the fact that the writing is simplistic and lacking in literary value, but it’s also due to the fact that he repeats, repeats, repeats. Jokes, ideas, thoughts, paragraphs. Ernest Hemingway would plotz.

Don’t confuse a good movie for a good book. Rarely do I feel a movie is better, but that’s the case here. Though if I’m being honest, I never thought the movie was great either. It’s okay. But not nearly as nauseating and maddening as Goldman’s writing.

I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

The ‘Princess’ is Buttercup a beautiful young girl who lives with her parents on a farm in the fictitious country of Florin where old Lotharon and Bella are King and Queen. She falls in love with her family’s ‘Farm Boy’ named Westley who also adores her.

He then leaves to seek his fortune in America so they can marry but she later receives word that his ship is attacked at sea by the Dread Pirate Roberts and assumes that Westley is dead. After several years Buttercup agrees to marry the evil Prince Humperdinck the heir to the throne of Florin.

But before the wedding Buttercup is kidnapped by a trio of outlaws the Sicilian criminal genius Vizzini the Spanish fencing master Inigo Montoya and the giant Turkish wrestler Fezzik. However a masked ‘Man in Black’ follows them up the Cliffs of Insanity.

In the ensuing battles Inigo and Fezzik are defeated and Vizzini is killed. But why was Buttercup kidnapped in the first place? Who is this mysterious ‘Man in Black’ and what are his plans? And will the Prince ever find Buttercup to marry her? This fantasy novel combining elements of comedy adventure romance satire and fairy tale is said to be a spoof of swashbuckler movies.

Author William Goldman is primarily a Hollywood screenwriter who is best known for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and All the President’s Men. Several years ago some friends of ours brought us the 1987 film by Rob Reiner that is based on the book and except for one little scene through which they fast forwarded I think because of the language we enjoyed the movie and I have always wanted to read the book.

The plot of the novel is sometimes a little confusing with all the flashbacks sub-plots and Goldman’s commentary” asides. In this respect the movie is perhaps a little easier to understand than the book because the former follows the action more directly.

It would appear that Goldman is a much better screenwriter than he is a novelist. The Princess Bride is presented as Goldman’s abridgment of an older version by “S. Morgenstern” which was originally supposed to be a satire of the excesses of European royalty but is in fact entirely Goldman’s work.

Both Morgenstern and the “original version” are fictional and used as a literary device. Goldman’s personal life as described in the introduction and commentary of the novel is also fictional. The basic theme of the book seems to be that ‘life isn’t fair ‘ and the narrative sometimes tends towards ‘absurdism ‘ a form of literature which has never really interested me.

There is a great deal of bad language in the book more than I remember in the film with cursing (the ‘h’ and ‘d’ words appear occasionally) profanity (the terms God and Jesus are frequently used as interjections) and assorted crudities (such as calling someone an a**hole and a ‘son of a b**** as well as even using the ‘s’ word onceóby a kid no less).

I guess that it doesn’t surprise me that a modern Hollywood screenwriter would do this and somehow consider his work as ‘a traditional piece of children’s literature. ‘ Uh I’m sorry but I cannot recommend the book for children.

In addition to the language there are scenes of heavy drinking and drunkenness and at least a couple of threats of suicide. Children can read about how ‘life isn’t fair’ without all that baggage. The latest edition also contains the purported abridgement of the first chapter of the sequel Buttercup’s Baby.

At the end are some ‘Questions and topics for discussion ‘ but honestly even though there is an interesting story hidden in there somewhere I really don’t see anything that is actually worth discussing.

I bought a copy of this edition and the other hardback one (with the oval cover illustration) as gifts for family members. The other edition is nice, but this one is just astonishing First off the book is much bigger, it looks like a tomb, but is quite light for the size – easy to hold.

The cover with embossed gold is fitting. Inside each cover there is a full colour map, the other edition the map is B&W, but while the map looks great perhaps a sepia one would be better suited. The pages are thick and rough cut and appear aged.

The illustrations are a lot bigger due to the page size. I wish I’d got two of this edition! I might look at offloading the oval one so my niece can have this wonderful version.

Love had been my favorite scent for years until my last purchase. The bottle wasn’t filled with the lovely soft pink liquid I was used to, but rather some stinky amber mess that smells old. I’ve been waiting for the store to get new stock in for months so I can trade this bottle for fresh perfume, but it’s going back tomorrow.

The LOVE perfume has changed in the last few months. It is now an amber color and the scent is of an astringent nature. The formula must have been changed. I have purchased and returned 6 bottles. I have worn this perfume exclusively for over 10 years – I now have to find an alternative.
