20 Best Lotion For Itching Skin (2023 Updated)

During the winter my skin has a tendency to become dry, itchy and irritated. Recently I picked up the Acure Calming Itch Irritation Lotion to try and it has become a Godsend! It relieves the itching, calms my skin, and provides much needed hydration.

It’s also excellent as a barrier lotion. It has a pleasant lavender smell and makes my skin feel great. It runs around $12 for an 8 oz tube making it affordable for the benefits of this lotion. I will definitely repurchase in the future!.

The winter always drys me right out, and a lot of lotions burn and cause my skin serious irritation, this is my go to now! Not only do I love the fresh lavender scent of this lotion, I love how gentle it is on my super dry skin! The colloidal oatmeal sooths my skin immediately! It’s 100% Vegan; paraben, sulfate, mineral oil free and cruelty free (just to name a few of the added bonuses of this).

Very strong fragranceI have allergies. I wrongfully ordered Sarna Original when I intended to order Sarna Sensitive. Nonetheless, at bedtime I gave Sarna Original a try. The lotion was effective in relieving skin itching.

However, the fragrance was way too strong! I washed my hands and the scent remained. The odor gave me a headache thus I has difficulty falling asleep. In the morning the scent lingered upon my hands.

I had to launder my bed linens.

I have year-round allergies and break out in hives if I don’t religiously take three different prescription allergy medication. Even with the medications I still sometimes break out with other skin issues and I also have problems with severe itching due to my allergies.

I just want to say that sarna is the most amazing anti-itch cream that I have ever tried. It’s so amazing that I don’t even care that it makes me smell like Vicks Vapor Rub. Within a minute of putting it on I feel relief from the itching.

If you suffer from allergies or have any types of skin irritations or rashes that cause itching I highly recommend that you try sarna.

This body lotion is a must have in my home. My husband’s skin used to dry out and crack due to his harsh work environment. Using Gold Bond’s Medicated Extra Strength body lotion made a night and day difference for him.

He uses this lotion on his arms and hands (where he had the most issues) every other day or so and has no problem with dry, cracking, or itchy skin anymore! I’ve used this on my son’s back as well when it was really dried out right before bedtime and it looked healthy and moisturized by the time he woke up.

There’s a gentle tingling effect that is very soothing as well. I’d recommend this for daily use or when you really need some extra moisture!.

feels cooler and more soothing than the original formula. Once applied, it feels very similar to Gold Bond Medicated Extra Strength Powder. It contains many of the same active ingredients, but because it’s in lotion, not a powdered form, it’s a LOT less messy.

There is a SLIGHT mentholated scent to it, but it’s not overpowering. It is somewhat similar to fresh eucalyptus or a nice, fragrant tea tree oil, but the scent mostly dissipates once the product is absorbed.

I originally bought this product because I loved using their medicated powder in the summertime but I wanted to stop using talc products. I buy this product all the time and I’d recommend it to anyone who loves the freshening feeling of Gold Bond medicated powder.

My husband has neuropathy and it causes restless leg syndrome along with other issues. This lotion works to calm his jerking legs down within 15 minutes of application! It’s not a cure but it helps calm his twitching down so we both can get some much needed sleep.

I suffer from eczema and psoriasis so winter is always a difficult time of year for me and my skin with the cold and heaters being on.

In addition to my skin issues I am also a tattoo fanatic and both me and my spouse have fairly recently healed ones. The first thing I noticed when I opened the product was rhe smell. It’s a nice, mild, clean smell with no obvious perfume scents which is nice as I can be sensitive to fragrance.

This is one of the few scent free products that doesn’t smell like glue. The next thing I noticed was the consistency/texture. It is a nice thicker gel consistency which normally means it’s loaded with petroleum jelly and will leave your skin with a greasy residue.

very disappointed with the porduct. My husband had rashes on his arm so I ordered this hoping it will sooth the itchiness. He applied it on his rashes after returning from work and in a few hours, he had swelling on his arms and it turned red.

We washed the lotion off with water. I was so freaked out. and applied ice packs all nite on the swelling. I have never seen such a reaction from a OTC skin medicine. Really really wondering what ingredient does it have.

I have seen my elders use it when I was a kid. I would never buy this brand again.

So recently I tried one of your products before, and this is my second time using your products. The last time I use a light weight lotion for my eczema, which I apparently have, and the second one I am using currently is these kind of body cream, or lotion.

The only issue is my skin and body was irritated, and itchy few days before I got your lotion/cream, and it didn’t have negative effects on my skin, and body it didn’t worsen it’s only my eczema, irritation, and skin I need to manage, and take control.

Using the itchy and relief body cream/ or lotion it made my body feel smooth, soft, and glides amazingly well on my body, especially my skin. I have tendency to being open minded on a ton of brand than Eucerin, and I would appreciate getting your lotions again.

As person with eczema anyone especially myself can still smell good, and have good hygiene using fragrance free lotions, creams, body washes, and facial cleanser to clean your face, tone, and moisturize.

I love how this feels on my skin! When my eczema flared up after having my baby, I tried so many lotions/creams while/after steroid creams. This was the last one I tried and worked so well, I’ve been using this for the past 3 years everyday all over my body after a shower/bath.

I haven’t had any eczema flare up since then. This is not thin or thick. It may feel slightly slippery at first, but will go away after 5 minutes or so. This just works FOR ME. My little one uses Aveeno Eczema Location and it works for her.

My other daughter uses another brand and we all have mild case of eczema. Key to keeping the good skin is to ALWAYS moisturize. Religiously. Hope this helps others to try this lotion and that it works for them, too 🙂 and I hope they continue making this product because I can’t not live without it!!!.

i think this product will be a good substitute for “SARNA” anit-itch cream. ( the regular brand not the one that uses the smelly Camphor as the main ingredient) however, the pump handle on this is frankly wierd.

It took me a while to figure out how it was supposed to work. I semi-destroyed it in the process which wasn’t a great idea. should come with instructions for us neo-engineers who always feel we can make something work better than it was designed-irregardless of outcomes.

Love this lotion especially in the winter months when my hands dry out to the point of cracking. It’s very soothing and helps to seal in the moisture it also has a soothing menthol scent. If you have psoriasis I also recommend this lotion as I would use it when my psoriasis was angry to sooth and moisturize.

Definitely a repurchase for me I have been using it for years.

this product makes a pretty strong statement saying that 100 percent of participants saw relief after 2 minutes. I can actually attest to this that after putting this on my son who has very dry itchy skin as of late, he immediately stops complaining and is less restless.

a little goes a long way depending on where you need to apply. this product is expensive, but it does exactly what it say compared to other brands I have used. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone who has extremely dry itchy skin.

this has medicine in it so it’s not to he used as a daily cream, but it is 100 percent worth the money. the only thing I wish is that it smelled a little better. overall, absolutely great product.

this stuff has been amazing and a godsend. I am allergic to everything under the sun I was having trouble finding a face lotion that didn’t cause redness itching or flaking. This product is smooth and creamy and moisturizing without any scent or irritating ingredients.

I have told other family members about it and we’ll be buying it again and again. Walmart has the best price I have found on it.

I was at my wittend with itching all of over my head and body unable to sleep at night. I tried many creams and essentials oils this cream took care of the itching right away. Not sure if the meds, allergies, eczema, etc.

caused the itching I even went to see my Dermatologist and ask for itching meds that did not work they only made me sleeping. Benadryl, Claritin also did not took care of my itching.

I have used so many products; this is one of the few products that don’t sting my skin. I have very sensitive skin with dry patches on my temples and cheeks. The wild oats and hemp seed oil keep my skin hydrated and calm.

After using this moisturizer for a couple weeks, I’ve seen a noticeable improvement. My skin is healthy and happy:) It smells mildly of oats and applies smoothly. It works best when you give it a moment to dry.

My skin had been so itchy everywhere. Constantly scratching even in bed. Had been using Aveena prior to getting so itchy, possibly from medications and dry air in Alberta. Read a review about cerave itchy lotion.

A little expensive but I couldn’t believe it. Literally the moment I applied it to my skin, my itching stopped and I don’t have to reapply it the following day. This lotion has made a huge difference in my life.

I was going crazy before this.

My aunt recommended CeraVe itch relief moisturizing lotion for eczema. It typically acts up during transitional weather. It comes out as a soft, smooth cream, when applied, has a slight cooling feel to it.

It helps very much in soothing my skin when I have a flare up of excema. While initially bought for eczema purposes, it is now summer- and I ended up with a slight sunburn on my shoulders. It was not an intense burn, but it stung for a few days.

I used this product on my sunburn and was pleasantly surprised that it assisted in the relief of the stinging sensation. This rates very high in my book, and a product I intend to keep on hand.

I love this balm. My eczema is on my eyelids, normal creams/eye creams irritate it, never improving it. It’s an area I shouldn’t be using hydrocortisone. Within days I saw an improvement. I have now been using this as my eye cream for 2 years, and in that time, I have had 2 flair ups? And they weren’t even that bad.

My toddler has mild eczema on the backs of his knees, this cream did wonders for him too. The bottle is massive, so me only using one pump on my eyes, it lasts me for ever. Remember, this is a balm, so it’s thicker, lies on top of skin.

If you want a cream that’s more penetrable, buy the cream in the same range 🙂 Only negative, when you first use it, you need to pump the nozzle 1001 times before anything comes out. But don’t give up, you’re probably 30 more pumps away from squirt!.

The skin on my hands and arms is very dry and frequently itchy. Regardless of the hand lotion I use I end up scratching myself just short of blood. I decided to try Avene XeraCalm AD Lipid-Replenishing Balm to see if it would provide relief.

I am pleased to report it has helped a great deal. So long as I use it every day I am pretty much itch free. The lotion is thick and creamy and a little goes a long way. I have given the product 5 stars and that is for the product alone.

I am not in love with the tube. It has a top/bottom(?) that you press to release the lotion. Because the tube is flexible it is difficult to hold and press at the same time.

I bought this after seeing people post about it on social media. My littlest has bad eczema on his legs which was dry & bleeding. It takes a bit of time to actually rub in but I tend to slather it on at night & then put his pjs on & leave it to soak in itself.

Within a few days his eczema had cleared up. I also use it on my face which gets sore from the cold weather & this soothes it instantly. The only downside is that it smells a bit like play-doh! It is expensive but I think it’s worth the money, especially if you can get it when the offers are on.

I don’t really leave reviews but I bought this on a whim along with their MooGoo milk wash. Love both of them. I’ve been using this cream on my face twice a day. I’ve noticed my skin stays moisturised and dewy.

I honestly love this and Will continue to purchase. Very pleased. Doesn’t feel greasy and has light neutral fragrance.

Yet another product that falls flat on it’s false promises, it’s supposed to alleviate skin complaints, not aggravate them. Smells terrible, absorbs too quickly if you apply to dry skin, considering it’s supposed to be a moisturiser it should moisturise effectively without having to add external moisture, seems to somewhat defeat the purpose.

I’d avoid this product and the Natural soothing MSM cream, unless you like forking out for worse skin complaints than you started with.

I have been suffering from eczema, specifically on my hands, for several years, but now have found relief from the cracking and itching. This product has made everyday life so much easier for me. I no longer have red, cracked and itchy hands.

While I suffered from eczema for so many years, I also have numerous allergies that limited my use of prescription creams and ointments, but this cream is free of any harsh ingredients that would affect my skin.

My son has severe eczema and has been on every topical steroid and non-steroid cream/lotion/ointment for eczema since birth. The dermatologist(s) have hit a brick wall with him. I happened to see the MG217 product at a CVS store last year and bought it for my son, who tried it and will readily admit that this is the first topical that relieves the redness from his face.

The MG217 Eczema Face Medicated Moisturizing Cream is the only topical he now uses on his face. It is a lifesaver.

My wife has severe eczema and besides what is prescribed to her nothing work until we found this cream. MG217 is a miracle in a tube. It does the same thing as her prescribed medication and is able to have this with her to put on throughout the day.

It is very thing which is what she needs. Will be buying more.

Welp. long story short I developed mast cell activation syndrome recently after a bad bout of contact dermatitis or something similar from using Redken Bonding Conditioner. I can use only 5% of all products ever made now.

Although I think the balm would have been better for my skin I chose this scared the balm would be greasy. This is a “light medium” moisture level, its thick and not watery (think about same thickness of cerave cream but less slip and spreads thinner).

This is not perfect for me but I can use basically nothing now so I am very thankful. Maybe the balm is perfect. Think I will get next payday. It softens, heals, seems to keep most itching more manageable and seems to get better w more use.

But it did not take long to get relief. For me, if I use it when skin is not damp it stings a wee bit upon application but dissipates in just a few seconds. But you have to realize that again I’m in a very bad state skin wise now so for you may be different.

I love it. It’s expensive but I simply can not live without it. Hoping the balm is more moisturizing for me (older skin) l. I have used Dove beauty bar for years and can not use anymore. No cerave, no cetaphil, no gold bond excema, baby dove, vaseline unscented body, no shampoos and conditioners (even vanicream is mildly irritating) and can only use their skin recovery cream (which they discontinued.

Grrrr. ) Which is a heavy cream and that’s how I discovered Avene. I can not use everything in their lineup. Just information to show how great this lotion really is for some people w allergies, eczema, broken skin barrier.

I forgot to add results! Skin is plumped, not red, less wrinkles and helps for 12 hours or over. It has not been a cure all for me, but that is impossible and hopefully time will heal me. Mast cell syndrome is a Beast.

On multiple strong meds. I’m just really happy they are here. Highly recommended.

This past year has been horrible for my family’s skin. I think we’ve really contributed to a lot of our dry skin/eczema skin problems unknowingly, and had gotten it a good bit under control before using Avene, but the dry skin prevailed with a few persistent eczema patches.

My persistent patch in my elbow creases, my baby on his ankle and neck, and my son nummular patches on his feet and legs. Our other eczema creams, while very helpful in stopping major flares, just didn’t get us all the way.

Dr. Dray on yt has this as one of her recommended products for dry skin. Oh. my. goodness. This is the best cream ever. Within a week my skin was so buttery soft. I’m only 35, and my skin was so dry, I was getting some face wrinkles, and had dry acne on top of my eczema.

My acne, cleared up. My skin so much smoother. Dryness gone. I am starting to look my age! Everyone has noticed the major improvement, my husband “Wow, your skin is so soft now!I just want to touch it.

” My babies neck eczema, gone. His ankle eczema is still there, but overnight the improvement was unbelievable. My other son still has nummular eczema, that stuff is about a year of a flare on average, so let’s not pretend there is any magic, but it’s much improved and he also loves his new soft skin.

All three of us have greatly improved softness, much less dryness. I will also keep this and another popular brand on hand (starts with v, and ends with anicream). Great product! Bless the makers of this cream!.

Thanks to Avene’s outstanding customer service and after describing my sensitive, dry skin as well as a tendency to get perioral dermatitis for which my dermatologist suggests using non-comedogenic products, I was recommended this most wonderful and nourishing XeraCalm A.

D Lipid-Replenishing Cream. After 2 weeks now, I can report that it feels great upon application and keeps my face nourished all day. No dry feeling. In fact, my skin feels youthful despite my 50 years of age.

For me this cream replaced the discontinued skin recovery cream and this XeraCalm cream is also a more affordable option by comparison, especially for the larger bottle.
