20 Best Lotion For Ingrown Hairs (2023 Updated)

I use this for my pubic area and underarms and it works like magic! The concentrate has completely taken away all ingrown hairs and discoloration from my underarms in 3 uses, and all razor burn and ingrown hair problems from the pubic area in 4 uses.

I use this after the shower every time and make sure not to wear deodorant for at least a few hours after showering but I really prefer using it at night so I don’t have to use deodorant until the morning.

I use an all natural deodorant but I still like to leave the concentrate on by itself so it works its best! I’m sure the regular Cooka Oil would give the same results, maybe just over a longer period of time so with summer upon us I wanted the fast results and got them! I will most likely purchase the regular Cooka Oil instead once the concentrate is empty.

I have literally spent thousands of dollars on products to help with my facial hair due to PCOS and nothing compares to this, nothing! I saw results in less than 24hrs. And it only gets better. My ingrown facial hair has improved almost 70%.

I’m excited to see what it will due in more time. As a black woman coming up on 40 it has been a hard transition dealing with everything that comes with age and this product is it! Truly products has honestly given me hope that there is a company out there TRULY working to improve our skin and not just out for bucks.

The price is worth it. A little goes a long way, used correctly it will last a really long time. The smell wasn’t even on my radar. It is definitely worth a try!.

I was not expecting the quality of this serum to be so much better than the big bottles – I know it says concentrate but I didn’t think much about it until it came in a little bottle. But there’s a reason for the small bottle! The other serums are much more watery which makes them messy and harder to apply (in my opinion) but this stuff is thick, holds shape on my fingers long enough for me to apply it to the desired area without it leaking down my hand, and a few drops goes a long way! I can’t wait to see what this does for ingrowns because the oils inside of this serum are super beneficial, there appears to be no extra unnecessary ingredients! I wish more of Truly’s serums were this quality!!.

I epilate my bikini area (after waxing and shaving were both too irritating) and for the longest time I’ve struggled with random ingrowns no matter if I exfoliate and moisturize it. I had three pretty bad ones that I was insecure about and I had 30 dollars in points so I decided to try these and I literally don’t understand why this works so well even after reading the ingredients list, it’s insane.

I’ve heard that Fur is expensive but is worth the price and people were right, I haven’t tried anything that works as well as this. Next time I can splurge I want to get the oil and ingrown concentrate because this literally gave me back so much confidence in my body skin.

Seriously. I have used SO many different products in an attempt to reduce ingrown hairs. Nothing has ever come close to these mitts! You can get 2-3 uses out of 1 mitt so I feel the price is quite reasonable.

The instructions say to use 24hrs after waxing but I found using a mitt as soon as the redness goes down works best. I’m definitely gunna be buying these regularly :).

I have never written a review on anything before. these are literally amazing. I just tried the first one, and I literally saw the ingrown hairs come out right before my eyes. I’ve gotten severe ingrown hairs from waxing and nothing has taken them away.

Salicylic acid, Prince Reigns, etc. I am about to buy every product FUR has to offer. I was initially apprehensive on the price point because if it was a product that didn’t work out, but it is worth all of it and more!.

I have found that the third most ingredient in this product, ethylhexyl palmitate, clogs my pores to the extent that I develop deep, painful cystic acne. Coconut oil and its derivatives are usually pore clogging for me, as well.

This might not be true for all people, but my skin is sensitive and acne prone, and it has helped me to be aware of these breakout causing ingredients and avoid them. I will admit that I could have read and researched the ingredients on this stubble cream more carefully before I spent money on it, and I could have patch tested it, which I did not.

However, I hope my review can save someone else the pain and embarrassment I went through because of this product. I applied this to my underarms, legs, and bikini area after shaving, and it took months of babying my skin just to heal the active cysts.

Now I will most likely have to continue to treat the resulting hyperpigmentation for several more months. To add insult to injury, this cream appears to be fragranced with some of the cheapest essential oils you can buy, and it certainly smells like it.

Nothing about this product is worth the price point, and I think it’s irresponsible to market this formulation (at all, but especially) for use after hair removal on delicate, potentially irritated or compromised skin.

So I was very hesitant due to the cost of fur products but had read about how helpful they were for ingrown hairs. I bought the ingrown concentrate since it was the cheapest item (but not per ounce, lol) and it has been wonderful.

When getting laser (for those like me, who did not know and this is relevant, I promise), you have to have a clean shave the day before. This may result in some irritated bumps the next day and laser won’t be done on irritated skin.

So firstly, something to minimize and reduce irritation is important. After the laser appointment, the hair grows and falls out. However, you cannot tell which hairs have been impacted by the laser until they naturally fall out.

I wanted to speed up that process by getting the hair to fall out faster-lo and behold, the little scrubber that came with the ingrown concentrate. I thought my body scrubber would be sufficient but the fur scrubber grabbed all the hairs and helped speed the process along to my smoother skin life.

I use 4 drops each time and gently rub it in. When the bottle runs low, I will purchase the larger $50 fur oil and see how it compares!.

I received a deluxe sample of this from Ulta and I was really impressed with it! There’s no scent so a man or woman can use it. It can be used EVERYWHERE! I saw results the first time I used it. I noticed that it helped to slow hair growth.

Usually if I shave in the morning I’m all prickly by the end of the night, but I was still smooth even the next day after using this lotion! I waited a few days to shave just to experiment with the product because it claimed to It also make the hair grow back softer and finer.

It really did grow back softer! And since I have dark hair and very light skin you can usually see dark spots all over my legs from my hair follicles, even when my legs are freshly shaved. Like what’s sometimes referred to as strawberry skin.

When I used this lotion the spots on my legs were much less noticeable! All the other product I’ve tried claimed that you needed to use it for 4-6 weeks etc. to see results, and I’ve never actually seen any results from them.

But this stuff made a huge difference just the first time I used it! It’s a bit pricy, I just looked into it since I liked it so much and it was about 40 bucks for the full size bottle. I think it’s worth it for the results I saw, so I will be purchasing this soon.

I have used PFB Vanish in the past (Chromabright), and it really does help with discoloration and ingrown hairs in the bikini area. If you have dark skin and struggle with ingrown hairs I recommend this product.

It peels away dead skin to refresh the area, and I honestly think it slows down hair growth. I stopped using it for some time and my ingrowns came back. I quickly bought the updated version and once again I saw improvement in the area.

The product does sting a bit as you put it on but you get used to it. Also, make sure to exfoliate and moisturize well as the skin in the area will be peeling. I use it daily after showering until I see results, then I reduce use to maybe 3 times a week because I don’t want the area to be too raw from peeling.

You will see what works for you best as you use the product. It’s a bit pricey but it lasts a very long time, I still have a little bit left in my first bottle.

What I was doing was finally working. When I ran out of the other stuff, I stopped using the PFB Vanish, as well. A week later, I noticed the ingrowns and bumps coming back. I restarted the PFB Vanish and it was like a miracle!!! I’ve tried many things over the years to reduce the amount of ingrown hairs after hair removal as well as the hyperpigmentation that is often left behind. The only things that work for ME are waxing and PFB products.

This product definitely caught my eye when I saw that it had a lower price point than it’s cousin PFB Chromabright, but it made its way into my repurchase list when I saw the results it gave me. My skin started shedding almost immediately which is a good thing and already after 2-3 weeks of usage, the skin underneath my arms and the skin on my bikini line is much lighter and I had NO ingrown hairs at all.

If you’re thinking about purchasing this, think no more…BUY. It’s worth it.

I was hesitant about buying this. I thought it would be another product that didn’t work and I’d end up throwing it away. Thankfully this product actually works. I like the roll on applicator a lot. It makes it really easy to apply without waste or a mess.

In the future I plan on buying the big bottle and just refill the roll on as needed. One star taken off for the smell. It has a very strong alcohol smell. The smell only lasts about a minute or two after applying so I can deal with that.

Love love love this brand, but not this specific formula, or application. I have used this brand’s Skin Solution that was NOT the roll-on and applied it to my skin with a cotton pad. It worked perfectly, but I decided to try this roll-on to save money from buying cotton pads Unfortunately, it did not have the same effect.

I still experienced razor burn and itching the next day. My advice is to stay within this brand but do not choose the roll-on.

This is the best for preventing ingrown hairs and razor burn especially for bikini line. The smell is a little bit strong like alcohol at first but once it dries you can’t smell it anymore. I especially like the roller, it makes for super easy application.

So the reason why I am rating this as a 5/5 is because it has been the only lotion that could make my strawberry skin smooth. I had very bad strawberry skin on my legs, upper thighs, and back of my arms.

I tried every lotion I could and nothing. Until I read a review from someone with bad strawberry skin that this was the only thing that smoothed out their skin. And boy! They weren’t wrong! You can still kind of see my strawberry skin on my upper thighs but it feels smooth !!! The lotion doesn’t have fragrance since it is fragrance free and contains various exfoliants as well.

It is more on the thicker side too. I apply it after I shower but sometimes the lotion kind of stings/irritates my skin since I shave in the shower, but it only lasts for a minute so it’s fine 🙂 Definitely recommend!!!.

I have an ongoing tumultuous relationship with this lotion. It’s a love/hate thing. I hate it while I’m using it, but I love it afterwards. It’s almost like a slow-acting gommage? Let me explain. Positives: This definitely does a good job of sloughing off dead skin.

I always feel that any bumps from KP and/or ingrown hairs are less noticeable afterwards. The exfoliating acids in this are definitely effective, but it moisturizes well too, so my skin isn’t left feeling dry or tight.

Negatives: It’s marketed as non-greasy, which I find to be untrue. It “absorbs” (I’m using this word loosely, as I explain below) relatively slowly– maybe an hour or so on my very dehydrated legs, a bit longer on more hydrated areas.

Rate of absorption also depends on the area’s exposure to air post-application. Personally, I can’t keep this lotion anywhere on my skin that regularly touches different surfaces because it’s so sticky.

I find things like dog hair and random bits of paper sticking to my legs, which isn’t a great look, so I never use this on my legs if I’m planning on wearing shorts or a skirt. Even after it “absorbs,” I’m left with a bit of sticky residue.

Underneath, however, is the veritable promised land of silky skin. I’ve found the best practice is to either (a) put this on right before bed for maximum absorption before washing it off in my morning shower or (b) leaving it on for about an hour, then rubbing it off of my skin in small circles, like you would with a gommage peel.

I was pretty excited to try the product, not gonna lie, as I have dealt with ingrown hairs for a WHILE. And I’m talking stubborn and thick ones. I’ve tried a bunch of different things but aside from just devoting the time to sit and pick out each individual hair with some tweezers, not much aids in the department of their removal.

I have used several First Aid beauty products and I was excited when these pads came out, as this seemed like the perfect product for me. I followed the instructions on the back and after shaving a patting down my legs, proceeded to use the small round and moist pads.

They made my legs very shiny! This soon gave way to a mild burning sensation. And after it had fully dried I applied lotion. Now, I don’t know about you, but I tend to believe that a moderate burning means that whatever I have applied is working or doing something.

Complimentary from First Aid Beauty Unfortunately for me, I am prone to little red bumps & occasional ingrown hair post shaving which no matter how much I manually exfoliate, it still happens & more so on the legs.

These Ingrown Hair Pads have actually been a little saviour. I haven’t been using them too long but have already noticed a difference. There is a very subtle scent but it isn’t offensive. Feels actually quite nice on the skin and quick & easy to use.

It was even gentle enough to use on the more intimate & delicate areas without causing any irritations. One thing I will say is ensure SPF is used next day on sun exposed skin due to the AHA & BHA in the product.

I haven’t had any issues with these but it is something worth noting. The only down point is the number of pads per price point but this is a bit more of a upper market brand so it is to be expected & if they continue to work as well for me as it is now, I will more than likely repurchase anyway.

Works great. I am a black male. Unfortunately this stuff works great but it will not keep the ingrown hairs away. I only gave 4 star because it leaves your face looking like you dipped it in a bucket of popeyes chicken but it still works.

Put it on heavy and sleep with little heat on face like heat pad. 75-88% of the ingrowns are gone. Too bad they come my next shave and i dont have this so will be doing laser hair removal.

I cannot emphasise this enough; I never write reviews and always ignore incentives to do so (purely as I just run out of time and don’t really prioritise it). I’ve been using this cream for ages now and it never fails.

Despite my love for it, I still never wrote a review for it. Yes it’s on the dearer side, but I’ve been using the one tube for so long as you only need a small amount on the ingrown. In this recent instance, I told myself I’d have write a review if I could successfully remove an impossible ingrown my partner convinced me I needed to see a doctor about.

First, let me say that I’m a woman and I suffer from terrible ingrown hairs. Pretty much anytime I tweeze/shave/wax/nair my body hair I get painful, unsightly ingrowns. I have tried a lot of products to help, none have even come close to working as well as this.

When I decided to try this, I was a little turned off by the price for such a small amount, but when you compare it to other way more expensive products out there that are supposed to help prevent/relieve ingrown hairs it’s actually pretty cheap, especially since it lasts so long.

Seriously, I have had the same bottle (first I ever purchased) for almost 7 months now and I’m still not close to being done with it. I think it does an excellent job of getting rid of/lessening the irritation of existing bumps quickly.

Patience is not one of my virtues, I hate when a product has to be used consistently over a period of time before you can tell it’s doing anything. Literally the first time I used it I noticed a difference the next day.

I also have pretty sensitive skin and this doesn’t make me itchy or red or anything. It can sting a little when you first put it on, like if you’ve just gotten done shaving, but I’ve never had much of a reaction to it.

It works well to prevent the hairs from becoming ingrown in the first place too. It isn’t thick or oily and it dries REALLY fast. I just put some on a cotton ball (very much like I would nail polish remover) to apply it.

I do have to admit that there is a downside to Skin Tight- the smell. It’s pretty strong and in my opinion pretty bad BUT! I’ve noticed that the smell doesn’t really linger on my skin too long after it’s applied and over time I’ve kind of gotten used to it, plus the end result is enough for me to say oh well to the scent.

Also, it isn’t carried in my local store so I ordered it online w/in-store pick up. It came really fast and there were no problems as far as that went so that was another plus. 5 stars all the way. I 100% recommend this to anyone who has trouble with ingrown hairs.

I have very curly hair. everywhere. Whenever I shaved or waxed ANY area of my body I was guaranteed at least 2 ingrown hairs. However, my bikini area would always have the worst flare ups, and I would suffer from huge ingrown cysts and scarring as a result.

I saw this product on TikTok and I decided to try it out. It’s the only chemical exfoliant that’s ever made any sort of difference with my ingrowns. I no longer develop huge cysts of ingrown hairs, and whenever I do get an ingrown hair there’s literally no irritation or the most I’ll experience now is slight inflammation that goes down within a couple of days.

I bought this product several days ago. I used it after I shaved in the bikini area and I think it’s great. It doesn’t sting. It’s unscented and isn’t sticky. The roll-on feature makes the application easy and will definitely help the product to last longer.

Because it’s so light I used it several times in a day right after shaving and i really did notice my ingrown hairs/hyperpigmentations from previous ingrowns fading away. Once you get your skin back to normal you can probably drop down to once daily.

I cant offer a long-term perspective but this product has certainly worked for me in the short term. I have also used other Topicals products that gave me the expected results so I think this is a trustworthy brand.

The dry brush was horrible. As soon as I used it, bristles began falling in the floor. Not to mention the fact that it scratched my skin horribly. I have been dry brushing for years and have never had such a bad experience.

I have resorted to using one of my old dry brushes and am continuing to use the other products in the system. Time will tell how well it works. On another note, the oil to reduce dark spots smells amazing.

The roll on applicator is so handy. No need for cotton wool to apply the product and saves on wastage. Excellent price too. I will definitely be getting more products from Beauty Features with their extensive offerings.

This product does work. I love that it comes with a roller ball it’s very easy to apply. It’s a little pricey but not too bad. The bottle that you can get to refill is about $20 but lasts a while. It does have kind of a strong scent but it doesn’t bother me it’s a cleansing scent.

I also have sensitive skin and I even use this on my unibrow because I can get ingrown hairs there when I remove the hair. I haven’t found any other product that works as good as this one. The pictures is of the bottle that you refill when you take off the top roller ball.

This is a product I originally thought I wouldn’t get a chance to use effectively because I typically don’t deal with irritation or ingrown hairs when shaving. But boy! I’m so happy I happened to receive this in my Vox Box! It saved me from circumstantial prolonged suffering, lol.

It was a pretty cool looking dark blue bottle with an interesting cap covering, but I’m not sure how it added to the usefulness unless I missed something? A spray bottle or squirt bottle like a typical toner/witchhazel bottle uses might hit the mark a lot better for application.

Either way, 10/10 would recommend to anyone dealing with normal to intense shaving irritation. I will definitely use/buy it again if I run into that unfortunate situation in the future. ❤.

I’ve been buying this for years. It does do a pretty good job at preventing razor bumps and ingrowns. But so would rubbing alcohol, which is literally the main ingredient. I never bothered to look at the ingredient list before.

If I had I would’ve stopped using this a long time ago. Now I just refill it with isopropyl alcohol and it does the exact the same job. Also, my bottle says on the back that it may cause reproductive harm and birth defects.

I never paid much mind to it myself but I figured others would like to know before purchasing online.

The first time I used this product was 6 night back I knew that I wouldn’t be able to review this product until using it more than once but the results I have today are quite amazing. I have very curly hair and very fair skin so ingrown hairs and razor bumps are not only a constant in my life but you can see them all the time.

Being in the personal care industry, I knew this product would work as it has a chemical exfoliator and anti-redness ingredients that would help me with this problem, I just didn’t know how well it would work.

Today I notice a significant decrease in my razor bumps. Like I can actually see my skin color instead of those red/dark dots that clearly show where every single hair follicle is on my bikini line. As for ingrown hairs I will have to come back and update this review as I’ll need to use this product as my hairs grow back.

All in all i am really impressed!.

It works. It stings because it has a lot of rubbing alcohol in it. I used this in Hawaii when I was shaving my bikini line every single day- phew. I have really sensitive skin and this made it so that I didn’t get any ingrowns or infections even tho I went right from the shower to the ocean.

I really closes all my pores and the chemical exfoliants in here *work*. In the future, I’m going to dilute this with witch hazel to make it less intense.

My girls have experienced ingrown hairs in the bikini zone, as most of us women know that is ingrown hairs favorite growing place it seems. My daughter has had to have a dermatologist remove one before.

So to avoid any more trips to the dermatologist we gave Flamingo Ingrown Spot treatment a try. It has a light or no scent, that is nice. This is a Spot treatment the tube comes with a pointed tip to apply directly on the Red ingrown hair bump, it drys almost instantly.

You must avoid touching the spot not to cause infection or more irrigation. I think this product works as long as you use it correctly. I’m having my husband try it in his neck line where hair is prone to be ingrown.

Regardless I do think this spot treatment helps with the redness and inflammation.
