20 Best Longboard Bearings For Cruising (2023 Updated)

I skated Reds my whole life so when I finally felt like I could afford to step it up I bought a set of these thinking theyd help me maintain speed better. They were fine (about the same as Bones Reds) for about two weeks before a pair of them busted.

They wouldnt spin anymore so I swapped them, then ordered a new set and changed all around. Skated for another week before another bearing went bad. I ended up throwing my Reds back on all around. Moral of the story, theyre ok, but quality is subpar and just not worth what they cost.

cant handle the abuse of skateboarding. Save yourself the time and money. Bearings should be cheap and replaced often. Reds are about 1/3 of the price, work as well and way more durable.

Somethings fishy about these bearings. I have bought and used 2 sets of these bones Swiss bearings over the past year and a half. I noticed they dont come close to the quality of bones Swiss bearings that cost 60$ in store.

Dont get me wrong, I dont wanna pay full price @ 60$ and also not saying these are fakes but somethings definitely off. Ride quality is poor, they dont spin as fast as normal Swiss, both sets got messed up very easily and I had not ridden through any water/puddles/dirt/mud anything.

Skatepark terrain only. If I could go back I would just spend the 20$ on a pair of bones reds or shake junt abec 7s and call it a day. Thats what I ride now and the performance has been unmatched!.

Compared to reds super these are much better with longer SMOOTHER rolls and more speed. With an OG 250 lbs rider these have taken the crushing punishment of drops and hops no prob. with out any binding.

All other bearings I have tried feel like they have something dragging under the board to slow you down new from the box. These swiss bearings make you want to clean your bearings more often because you know they are going to be faster.

Bones Reds are well known by any seasoned skater. With good reason. They are made to spin freely and without any compromise. There are no drawbacks since the price point is not ridiculous for what you’re paying for.

I’ve tried different brands and types over the years and for the price you pay for Bones Reds. Nothing really comes close. It’s value for money overall. it’s the same design as their ceramics range except these are made in China.

I’m still using a set I’ve had from 10 years ago. They sound crusty but they work perfectly as they should. I’ve only thrown them into the bearing cleaner once and that was recently. I did however buy a few extra pack’s while they were on sale (RRP $30).

I have also tested Bronson G3 (RRP $60) and can’t really feel any difference that makes the bearings worth the price that Bronson is asking. I also purchased some bones big balls recently to try with some other wheels I bought.

They are slower at low speeds compared to the reds but noticeably smoother and possibly faster at higher speeds due to less friction. (RRP $45) Overall, if you’re looking for quality but don’t want to pay a mint for bone’s Swiss bearings.

Bones Reds are a safe choice. Just make sure to keep an eye out for counterfeit bearings! There are videos and articles on how to spot the fakes!.

Bones what more do you need to say. I’ve used these since I was a kid on my skateboard. There are better but you have to pay the price for Swiss or ceramic too. These are an absolute necessity if you buy chicago skates period.

I cleaned and reoiled them because you don’t know how long they were on a shelf. Still using Bones speed creme to reoil too. Might be a better product now but I use what I know and trust. Anyway these are the best bearing for the money out there.

Lets face it. Most of us do not have the ability or experience to evaluate something as finely made as a ball bearing – unless it is total garbage or completely worn out. I’m, of course included in this generalization.

I went for a relatively inexpensive but decent quality bearing – and I think i got it. These will be used for a steady rest for a wood lathe, not on skates. That said, I downrated them a bit because of the advertising hype.

Bearings are lubed with grease or a light oil, not ‘speed cream’ or other marketing garbage. How can we evaluate a product when it is obfuscated by technobabble?.

I bought these to replace the VERY cheap bearings in my son’s “learner” roller skates. He is 7 years old and was having a hard time learning to skate. I thought perhaps it was that the bearings were so bad that he was constantly pushing and slowing down immediately.

Yesterday, we went roller skating for the first time since getting the bearings. and he can now push off, coast and turn like you should be able to! He no longer stops a few feet after his last push off! Normally, my son gets tired after less than an hour or so because he is constantly fighting the skates and wants to go home.

Not so yesterday! We only left after 2 & 1/2 hours of skating because we were hungry! It was so great to see him rolling around the rink, enjoying himself and his newfound speed! I’m a proud papa! 🙂 PS – We did not use the spacers since they didn’t fit his roller skates, but the bearings and speed washers were a perfect fit!.

Super quiet and smooth. It was quite a different riding experience Vs my old Bones Reds. I had expected it to be a significant improvement in able to ride longer without pedaling but perhaps I had too high expectations.

Pros are definitely how smooth they are at the park.

Ive skated the swiss, the ceramics and and these. What I can say is that these are best for probably a situation like pipes and pools, where you get more than enough speed anyway. These are not the absolute fastest of the three, but they’re still very like redonkulosly fast bearings that will spin for a solid 45 seconds if you give them a wheel spin test.

These are the smoothest, however not the fastest. They just have a different feel to them. The other reccomendation for use I have ALSO, is if you are doing alot of technical flip tricks onto flat surfaces, vis a vis Rodney Mullen’s skating style for example.

they seem to give you better control of balance if you are doing wheelie tricks.

I’m use to using Reds which are phenomenal. Been using them for decades. Tried these Bronson out, and they are same if not better quality than the Reds. They come with spacers which is nice, I don’t seem to feel a difference in my opinion.

Also having coverage on both sides of the bearings is good for protection from dirt. They’re around the same price as Reds, so I highly recommend them just as much.

Absolutely terrible, I bought these about a year ago and the first time I cleaned them they couldn’t spin anymore without making a horrible gritty sound and they would spin 2 full rotations before stopping.

My reds road so much better but now I skate Bones Swiss Ceramics and they are worth the money, had them for months and I still haven’t cleaned them and they feel like there fresh out the box still.

These bearings are geat! smooth riding and so far a good time. Only seem to be slowing down because I got into some dusty times with my skateboard for a bit . Def recommend!

Well i\’ll leave the price of these things largely undiscussed, that\’s up to you. I got 2 sets of these bearings. I use 1 in an electric longboard setup because (after the ceramics that came with the board died) these swiss 6 balls were the best bearings I had lying around the house.

They are super quiet, realy, the most quiet bearings I know. And bearings that run quiet usually are good bearings. It means there is little play between the components. The other set of Swiss 6-balls I installed on a regular street deck and allthough this board definitly rolls the easiest out of all my boards, the difference is not that great.

And at 85 euro\’s I hardly want to Ollie or slide them because I don\’t want them to wear out. So I hardly use that deck, how\’s that paradox for you. So best used in a Longboard setup imho, they will last longer and i \’ll go for some cheap-o bearings for street.

Pretty happy with these, they spin well, seem pretty smooth. I did have a bearing or two that doesn’t seem to spin as well as the others, I wonder if when I put them on my trucks the bearing cover got pushed in some.

I’m pretty careful, but this one wheel just isn’t as smooth as the others. Overall for the price these are pretty awesome. See how they hold up to a month or so of skating. I’ve only ridden them a couple times now.

Never had to switch them out, nothing negative about them. And the sound is beautiful smooth rolling without skipping even after being banged up a little. Even after skating in a bit of rain, still rolling great and no squeaks plus dirt doesn’t build up in them, give em a kick roll and any dirt comes flying out on its own!if you got the right wheels, no terrain will makes these suckers slow down or stop abruptly.

Very mellow. Untill you hit a pebble that is.

Bronson RAW’s have to be my favorite I’ve honestly ever skated. I was huge into Bones for the longest and when I made the switch I could tell right away this was going to be my go to moving forward. I have used G2’s, G3’s and even the Bronson ceramics but I just love the RAW’s overall look, sound and feel.

Highly recommend them for anyone looking to try something new or make the switch from bones or whatever you were using before.

I expected scary initial speed from ABEC7 rated bearings, but the way they roll in my 51mm 99A narrow wheel is quite nice. Acceleration and roll is very balanced. Comes in a straightforward package – no gimmicks, just bearings.

Nice looking and high quality bearings. With seals on both sides. Very smoothe and fast rolling abec 7 bearings for a great price!

Work just as well as Reds and G2/G3 Bronson’s as far as I can tell. I’m not super careful to leave the skatepark when it starts drizzling or riding around when the ground is wet (I live in Portland) and the bearings are still turning.

Give em a try you’ll probably be stoked.

For the price, amazing. But despite what others are reviewing, not as fast as bones at all. Theyre similar to my abec 7 teenish enjoi bearings, not super long spinning or fast, just average and better than generic abec 5s.

For the price you really can’t complain I like having these in some of my boards, just not the ones I want fly fast on.

At ~$10 shipped these are are a pretty good deal. They aren’t crazy free spinning like some higher end ceramic bearings but they’re as good as Bones Reds for half the price and a lot better than the crappy abec 3 bearings that come stock with cheap boards.

If you are just looking for better cruising distance on a longboard I’d recommend buying bigger wheel + bearing combos, you can usually find Bigfoot or Cal7 75-97mm wheel + bearings for around $30.

Great value. Replaced bearing set that had been outside in weather for years. These works great and are under $10.

Shake Joint is misleading because these bearings are Dank! You won’t find better steel bearings than these. Made by skaters, for skaters. Smooth, consistent, long living bearings that have style and performance.

Get yer Shake on!.

a bearing press doesn”t mess bearings up it is probably ur wheels. I needed to use a bearing press for my shake junt”s but they were fine. Also the fact the the shield is off should not affect ur skating, I pop the shields off mine and i do not find it makes a difference.

I love shake junt bearing and i would recommend they to anyone. They are not my first choice because right now I am riding bones swiss and I love them but for 18 bucks junts are amazing.

They work well most of the time, some bearings are faster than others. Also you better hope you don’t have to return one bearing to Bronson speed co because it will be a real pain for that company to honor their warranty.

the same if not better products are fairly cheaper imho, but that dont take away from this product. very unique imho, orange cages, thats a thing in itself. thank you for a wgood product, aloha

I skated those bearings 2 weeks and all of them broke.. don‘t buy them if you want bearings wich last longer than a month.

Absolutely recommend these bearings They are amazing. Coupled these up with some Enuff super softies and a Krux riser and. it. is. smooooooth AND fast – on street AND park Haven’t tried these with harder “park” wheels yet.

but, Loved em so much I got a 2nd pair. They’re “equivalent” to ABEC 7s Except these are waaaay better than any other 7s I’ve tried so far Definitely worth the price.

no wheel spacers. but these things feel like good bearings. not into the hype about all the expensive bearings. back in the day it was all about NMB. where did they go? keep it under 20 bucks for bearings and you are good to go.

Smooth and fast! Keeping the underground lit. They mean it. Spitfire is one of the best around.

Great upgrade from the stock bearings on cheap skateboard. My son was really impressed how much easier and further he can go. I ride long board and he has small skateboard with small wheels and complained how much work it is to ride his small skateboard compared to my long board.

That has now changed! I’d definitely recommend upgrading to these from any stock.

Good bearings and packaging. G2s are good, too. Can’t really go wrong with Bronson Speed Co.
