20 Best Long Range Driving Lights (2023 Updated)

Work Great! able to really light up the trail. The things that give it low score on quality is: The powder coat chipped off the brackets during install. The wiring harness is a joke! They used electrical tape instead of heat-shrink, cheap wire crimps to make the connection between the two lights.

The vinyl protection use to protect the wiring is pretty lame. They’re so many better products out there, that look and work better. I took the harness apart, soldered and heat shrunk it properly.

Installation was easy, with good weatherpack plugs and harness shrouds (some other companies send you roll of black wire and a handful of crimp connectors to let you make your own runs) The light performance is staggering.

These were installed with a set of FlexEra3 for a total light throw. The Flex handle the flanks while the Slims take care of the main beams down. I can’t imagine running without them now. KC clearly researches their beam patterns and effective light performance.

They are pricier than some of the junk out there, but in this case , you really get what you pay for. We considered LED light bars, but the other Jeeps in our club have some, and although they can look really cool, the performance is horrible.

It takes experience and expertise to understand how light is managed and focused, and that’s why we chose KC.

Out of all the modifications I have done to my jeep on my own, HANDS DOWN this one was the most simple and straight forward!! The instructions were clear, the process took less than 30 minutes, the end result was stunning! I would buy every single piece for my jeep (bumpers, skid plates, lift kits, light panels, tire carriers) from KC if they manufactured them! All the other aftermarket companies need to take notes from KC if they want to be praised as highly.

Do not hesitate to buy this product! The money is completely worth it.

I recieved the package and the package was damaged as well as the light. Nothing major as I planned on mounting on an off road vehicle anyhow. It is likely to get dinged up as it is. The m ain reason for my complaint is that I did not receive any mounting brackets or bolts.

Instructions did not come with the package but it’s pretty self explanatory. Try to call customer service any it’s a run around right from the second you pick up the phone. The light may be great, but I feel it’s a hassle.

I would buy elsewhere next time.

So I bought this to replace a 22″ light bar that went bad. but when I went to put it in the brackets, it was well short. It measures at 21 11/16 inches not the 22″ inches shown in the ad (from outer edge of the bolt threads).

So now I have to redo my bracket placements to fit this new ~22″ light bar. Otherwise though, it works great and is very bright (great light for the price).

Great lights for a great price. I have them mounted on the front of my motorcycle. The other pair are going on the lawn tractor.

I didn’t take one apart but it seems very well built, does a better job of lighting then the old light, ~1/5 the current of the old light and the light itself is more of a daylight color, not the yellow light of the older lights that I had.

Very please for the price I paid.

This is a good light bar, SO FAR. Only been on for a month. Has seen heavy rain, snow, negative temps with no issues. No condensation inside. Haven’t dunked it in muddy water yet, but it’s a good product.

Normally, I’d agree that “you get what you pay for”, but I’d say this is more bang than my buck. 1st pic is headlights. 2nd is headlights w/ Pro Comp driving lights. 3rd is headlights with Nilight 20″ led.

The light itself seems to be well worth 30$. I gave it 4 stars because the brackets arrived bent and left a bit to be desired. I was able to straighten them and use them after some adjustment. The light is bright as can be and hopefully lasts awhile.

Very bright – had for one year the leds stop working. A few would come on and off. Had it mounted on front bumper of pickup. I removed light tested directly to battery same thing all lights would not come on.

Only small section at a time would come on when turned on and off.

Used these 6″ 100w beams to replace the 5″ 55w on my front bull bar. Much brighter and far more distance. I mounted the 55s over the spare tire on the back as auxiliary backup lights. Considering using these to change out the 6″ 55s on my light bar.

A tad expensive but have never ever had a problem with this style of KC halogen light, fogging, leaking, blinking, etc.

Great light — function and look. Replaced OEM bumper with bumper without integrated fog lights. Knew that would happen. Okay with that. Finding the adapter to go from the KC Lite was hard until I went straight to KC.

They had it and it worked perfectly. Did not need extension as my new location was close enough to old location. Overall pleased. Should have gone all this before winch install though. Had to unbolt it and slide it a little out of the way to finish the job on my Smittybilt bumper.

I live the lights just wish they had come with the proper wiring harness instead of having to order another part. Could have ran my own wires but so much added trouble. And the connector is just out of place.

Way to short of a wire.

I’ve owned these lights before and used them as Fitch lights on my truck. When I decided to go a different direction I gifted them to a friend for his new rubicon, I loved these lights so much that when I wanted to some forward lights on my bull bar, I decided to buy them during Black Friday, they are bright AF and the look super clean, also being in CA, the black out lenses help with compliance.

Love these lights and the Flex’s I have too.

So I put the lights on my 2012 raptor in the fog light gap. I made my own bracket from a piece of steel corner brace from Lowe’s. Just cut it to size and you have a bracket mount for the lights. Most people put 4-3” square lights in the fog light gap but I wanted a different unique look.

This product just states quality! The wire harness was a no brainer and instructions clear. These pods look great on my windshield.

Mounted to the barricade extreme HD front bumper very easily. I used the mounting brackets that came with the bumper and the bolts that came with the light bar. I cut off the switch it comes with and drilled a hole through the dash and mounted a nicer looking one.

this way the wires don’t show and is a lot more secure than the sticky pad this one came with. Took maybe an hour to install on my own.

Bar is very high quality, nice throw. The screen printing on my cover was smeared, but I mounted the light behind the lower grill on my ram rebel, so it didn’t matter, as I’ll never use the cover. Supplied harness had a nice water tight connection at the bar and came with a pre-wired relay.

I had to extend the ground lead in order to reach a good ground and mount the relay in a sensible position. The connector to the included switch had the wires pulled out, but wasn’t a big deal as I was using a different switch panel and running switch power from a switched source anyway.

The supplied harness runs the ground from the light all the way back to the relay ground, and will have a phantom draw on the tiny LED on the supplied switch, but you could probably leave that LED on for a year and not drain the battery.

Overall, the light bar is great, and the wiring harness is ok if you’re not very 12V DC savvy, but is still a decent starting point for a more sophisticated wiring interface if you are. I ran switch power for this and a set of rear lights with a fuse tap off of an unused marker light circuit so the aux lights can only come on when the vehicle lights are on with ACC power or the vehicle running and there is no phantom draw to the switch panel.

I replaced my fog lights on a 2003 F250 with the kd fabworks brackets. Since my headlights are an awesome yellow I could barely see anything in the early mornings and this thing lights up the whole road and then some.

Brackets were just barely big enough for this specific light bar and I had to trim a little plastic but other than that it works great.

My impression of the product was so different from what it actually is, I’m expecting this review will mostly be your entertainment at my expense and laugh collectively at my doh-moment. I thought this was one of the lightbars that I see on fancy Uber pickups that traverse inside the car, on the dashboard, provide a cool blue or light red glow, lightly illuminate the interior, and plugs into the lighter socket.

What this really is – could not be more of a polar opposite. This is meant to be mounted externally on the vehicle. The box came with mounting screws, but reading through the instructions, the mounting itself needs a professional – or at least someone who knows what they are doing.

Second, this does not plug into any lighter sockets. Should follow by reasoning, since the mount itself was not made of peel-off sticky strip. This comes with 2 bare wire connections, about 10 inches long, which means the mount needs to figure out a way to quickly send the wires into some protected conduit and then hook it up permanently to the power supply.

This is meant to be installed on the front, and is meant to blast copious amounts of photons towards anything unfortunate enough to land in the zone. In other words – this will light up everything in front.

In summary – if you are looking for an external lighting solution, for perhaps an off road vehicle, and either know what you are doing, have a friend who does, or are planning to include a professional in your implementation, go right ahead.

If you spend more time figuring out which upholstery cleaner to use, how to remove the micro scratches from paint, and which car wash has the most wax, than taking your car apart or getting it muddy, then this is likely going to end up as an expensive decorative fixture in your garage or basement.

I received the light bar via ups. It was well package with minimal waste. As I removed the light bar I notice how heavy duty it felt. Has a nice slim design. The brackets mounting holes are in a good spot for easy mounting.

The wiring is in waterproof sleeve and out of the way. However the wire is about 6 inches long. I would like if the provided a toggle switch and wire like some of the others in same price range. I have not had a chance to mount the light bar(still winter time here in Maine) as I plan to use it on the stern of my boat for fishing swimming and docking.

Going back to the size and mounting design it will be very easy to mount on the command bridge of my boat allowing it to illuminate both the deck and water. As stated earlier it’s winter time in Maine, though I haven’t installed it I did wire it up to a battery to try it out.

Very very bright! Not sure I’d use it as a fog lamp but definitely for a utility or roof mount light. This is a great product with a great warranty. I’m looking forward to using it this summer.

I have had lightbars in the past. All were non-LED. They worked but were a huge drain on the truck battery. Some were tricky to install due to the high current draw. Not this one. The LED technology of this product eliminates the battery drain worries.

This is an excellent lightbar. Extremely bright with a great beam pattern. It is quality made and stands up to rough use. Bumps, dips, and rugged terrain have no effect on it. The lights stay steady and bright.

No flicker. It is simple to install and comes with an instruction manual that is easy to follow. This lightbar is just the right size and lightweight. I could not be happier with it. I wish they made them like this back in the day.

Very well made feel. Packaged great. Came with everything in the harness to install. Perfect compliment to my KC Headlights. Fills out beam pattern well. Love the look. The 5” fogs are the perfect size in my opinion for TJ.

Love the classic look of these KC lights. Install took about 2 hours. Had some issues with the ground connection but besides that it was pretty easy.

Just got it to put on my new zero turn mower. Very bright. Appears well made. Larger than it looked in the photos. Box was pretty rough on arrival and a few of the hardware pieces were missing – a nut, a bolt and a washer had escaped from the damaged parts bag inside the box and escaped from the box.

Did not come with any wire, fuse link, or switch. So far it seems great.

The light is nice but I already stripped two bolts by barley putting a torque on it. A lot of wasted time with this cheap hardware. No lock washers or nuts to keep the light mounted with constant vibration.

Im un-installing the light and buying new hardware before proceeding.

Great little bar. Has been on my atv for nearly 10 months of hard , dirty riding. The heat of the summer, everything!! Very bright, love the adjustablity !!! Go to you tube and watch the Nilight video!! Sorry, this was the only pic I could find of it mount to my red Honda Raucher.

Oh man where do I even start, For $180 this light bar absolutely blew my expectations away. Working in an offroad shop I had the opportunity to play with lights that were so poorly made the wires would pull right out, to cracked frames and of course condensation from sitting on display INSIDE.

I also was able to play with some lights that cost the same as my truck (obvious sarcasm). The Lasfit lightbar has blown any other competition in this price range out of the water, and that is JUST talking build quality.

When I first pulled it out of the packaging I could just tell everything else would be up to par. Okay enough raving here are the pros and cons and I will leave you to it! Other then a few tweaks , and a modification to the mounting brackets and drilling to mount , it was pretty easy ! Mounted in the grill opening , it fits perfect ! And it is way brighter than I expected! Great product , nice construction , harness was indeed plug and play.

Installed on roof rack on chevy trailblazer with the wiring harness you can also buy at HF. These supplement the spot lights I have mounted above the front bumper. Better quality than similar cube lights on amazon.

Wiring harness has water proof connectors. nice. pretty much plug and play except routing harness through firewall rubber boot, and creating a hole for the switch below the dash. The relay has a built in ground, need to mount on body metal, verses a seperate ground wire.

nice. impressed with the quality, the output and the low draw.

Overall the light is absolutely AAAMAZINNGG! The brightness and the electrical wiring that comes with it not only saved me money but also from going to another store to find the exact parts that were already included not knowing if that store would have them.

Now the mounting bracket (if used like picture on box, which was mounted on the upper front bars on a SxS) is the reason I rated this product 4 stars. I ended up spending way too much time, effort and all sorts of tools then I needed all while ending up just zip tying it (which is absolutely 1,000% sturdy and not going anywhere) to the front bumper on my quad and WoW is all I have to say.

I love riding at night more then the day now. :).

If you can get it on sale it is worth every penny. But at the current price after all their price hikes it isn’t worth it in terms of light output per dollar IMO. I wouldn’t run these on a fast desert vehicle either because the output is mediocre at best.

I have a pair on my kids Go Kart and mounted one on my fixie road bike that ai power off of a Milwaukee M18 5AH battery so I can train in the evening and I have a few sets of these mounted under the rear bumpers tied into the backup lights on my truck and SUV.

they are more than good in those lower speed applications especially since they were only like $20 each on sale but for a buggy or pre-runner as forward main lights. IMO, get brighter lights even though they will cost more.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe lights are working fine. They are replacements on our golf cart. The wires were too short and we had to add additional wires for installation.

KC is one of the best and puts out an excellent product. It’s a fact. These lights are true that that fact. There are many ways to install these lights whether directly with the harness and relay provided or an auxiliary fuse box.

The latter was my choice. I mounted 4 of these on a windshield light bar to two relays but one switch. I also purchased the 5″ model spot for the a-pilar and 5″ fog for bull bar. These work great for me and serve the purpose for which I purchased and some.

Plus, they look good. I had many lights to install so it took me some time to run the wires and set up my auxiliary fuse box but once all wiring is completed the remainder of the install takes a flash.

Wanted some more light for traveling the creek bottoms while locating and hunting coyotes this fall and winter. The bonus was seeing deer about to cross in front of me while traveling down county roads! LED was out of my price range but after installing these, who needs LED! They put out a tremendous amount of light, downfall is how dark it is when you get on the highway and have to turn them off.

Install was a breeze but I have been doing stuff like this for 40 years.

I dont get the rigs with excessive light bars mounted on the roof, hood and bumpers. Are they spotlighting deer or driving 100 mph on a forest service road and need the illumination a mile ahead? The KCs were easy to mount with the pillar brackets.

install and wired directly to my sPod in 15 minutes. Discarded majority of the wiring bundle with relays and switches which made my install much quicker. Adjusted them to illuminate at the 11:00 and 1:00 oclock positions so the added to my headlights on high beam.

Worked great on the Forest Service roads in Colorado spotting dear and some free grazing cattle while I drove 20 mph. Before you decide to follow the path that more is better, try a pair of these. Also, keep in mind your lights must be covered when not in use.

height may vary depending where you are. If its above your bumper is a good starting point. May save you some coin driving through a location which relies on ticketing for municipal income!.

I’m not exceed about trying to find a way to exchange it.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleA very elegant auxiliary lighting system indeed! The light housings are metal with beautiful bright chrome and mounting hardware. It comes with a very neat and tidy wiring harness with relay witch is well done.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It is still a time consuming job and you will need basic mechanical and electrical skills to install it as all bikes are different. They are a little expensive but are a beautiful addition and work great!.

I can’t speak to longevity yet as I have only had them on my Road King for a few weeks at this point, but assuming that they last for some years it is a win on cost and impact on seeing better at night.

Usually, when you buy from HFT, you know what you’re going to get. Rock bottom prices, and. uneven quality. This light breaks that mold. The light itself is well built (in a nice aluminum housing), the brackets are good, and the hardware is long-lasting stainless steel.

But it’s the wiring that really sets this unit apart. The individual wires are encased in a thick rubber jacket. The light has a plug with double water seals, and a mating connector is provided. On my project (upgrading an old lawn tractor used for winter plowing and snowblowing) this allowed me to mount the light on the hood and a second, smaller light on the seat/fender assembly.

The other half of the connectors are mounted on the chassis. This will allow me to remove these parts easily for service or repair with a simple connector disconnect, rather than cutting wires. I haven’t used these lights in anger yet.

but they’re pretty bright in my garage. Based on the quality of the wiring, I expect years of service from them.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought two of these for my Jeep Grand Cherokee to use in Australia’s Outback. Easy to install and Bright as Hell. The spotties really reach out there and the floods are great for lighting up the peripheral areas of the bush.

IšverstiShow in original languageA good quality spotlight with a somewhat wide beam. In comparison to my flushmount pod lights they are equal to if not better light output against my 4d led light pod and 8 led driver pod.

The only down side I’d say is paint durability. I’ll definitely be ordering more for my wrangler and my motorcycle.
