20 Best Long Handled Toenail Clippers (2023 Updated)

I bought these tweezers 20 or 30 years ago. They were superb. The pair I just bought is almost as good as Revlon tweezers which cost about 1/3 as much. The entire jaw surface area is suppose to meet.

Not just the edge of the surfaces, the entire surface area – like a high quality pair of pliers. These don’t do that; they only meet at one edge. The toenail clippers are good. They have an effective non-slip grip which also serves as a catch bin.

Most, not all, of the nails automatically fall into this bin. The flaw is in the design – the jaws don’t open wide enough to EASILY get around toenails. (You can fit them in, but it’s sometimes a struggle).

Because of this, the toenail clippers work better on fingernails since fingernails are thinner than toenails. If you read reviews that say Tweezerman tweezers are no longer precision tools, believe it.

I am a caregiver for my spouse and regularly trim his very thick toenails. Finally I have clippers that I can easily grip and that are strong enough to cut through his 70-year old nails. The advertisement for these clippers states that the clippings will go directly into the case instead of falling on the floor.

I have not had that experience. However, I don’t mind as long as I have an ergonomically designed tool that is sharp enough and big enough to cut through his nails. Thank you Tweezerman!.

These are a decent pair of very solid feeling toe nail clippers. I know they are recommended for men (forget that) they work the same on girl’s toenails too! The handy little nail clipping catcher is great, just ensure you’re tipping it up so the clippings don’t fall out.

The best part is the straight cutting edge, this is the way podiatrists have been telling us how to cut our toenails to prevent ingrown nails for years.

These Bezox model MD-121 nail clippers appear to me to be well made, good quality. They feel good in the hand and do not slip when you squeeze them. They have a spring clip in the handles that returns them to the opened position when you relax your grip.

They even come with an extra spring in case the original spring breaks! They have a good blade angle that makes trimming with both hands easy. The blades are VERY sharp. So, it’s quite easy to cut through the nails and since they are well sharpened all the way across the entire blades, you can cut nails on the end areas of the blades or you can make a larger cut across most of the nail.

Just be cautious when cutting the edges of your nails around the cuticles. It’s easy to get the blades into those areas, but be careful that you don’t cut too far in, such that the blade can inadvertently cut into you skin and cause it to bleed.

If you just pay close attention and go slowly, this should never be a problem. I like these clippers and would recommend them to anyone who wants clippers that are easy to use, fit the hand well, and can easily cut through thick toe nails with accuracy.

They are worth the money.

Best cutter I have had for the last few years and I have had a few issues with my nails. How long this will last I don’t have any idea. But since the cutter is brand new hopefully for quite some time.

Great grip for holding the cutter as most are metal and slip in ur hand while cutting the nail. 5 star for cutting.

I like this product because the cutting head comes to a long narrow point and is ideal for getting right into the corners where my nails tend to bury themselves into. They are also comfortable to hold.

This one will get the job done quick and easy. This is my favorite toenail clipper, it’s easy to use and sharp, it can cut regular nails and thick nails. They work very good on senior nails, great grip and angled for easy cutting.

I lost my old Mehaz clippers and had back to the old type of straight toenail clippers. Took only one cutting with the old ones and I knew I had to find another pair of the Mehaz. I found them online at Walmart.

I have very thick nails on my big toes. These are so easy to use, and they cut right through them with no problem. I love items that make my life easier and these definitely fit in that category.

These heavy duty nail clippers are awesome!! Ive had a bad toenail for 3 yrs that had gotten really thick and could not clip with regular toenail clippers. It was so hard the my 2 yr old called it a rock lol Thank God I found some that worked and was very easy to cut.

I no longer have that hard toenail and Im now able to get the proper treatment to remove the rest. Thank you.

Easy to handle. They cut clean and sharp and leave an edge that almost doesn’t need filing. It takes a little time to get use to the proper angle of attack. It is a quality built instrument and it appears that the jaws could be re-sharpened if ever needed.

Steel and its finish are of good quality. Blades are sharp and cut cleanly. Handles are of nice size so its easy to use.

Best clipper with a caveat. The grips are not any longer than standard clippers. I have a limited range of motion. Found them to not make my efforts any easier. They are extremely sharp, so be careful.

! Just extend the grips for an ideal clipper.

Very well made, cut thickest of toe nails like a sharp knife thru warm butter. Large padded handles are easy to hold on and control clippers. Wish I had found these years ago

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to use this, but once I did, I thought they were pretty decent clippers. My dad has very thick toenails, but they did the job.

Very simple – it didn’t cut either mine or my husband’s nails. The amount of force I would need to apply to “force” a cut is more than I have. Also it was difficult to place.

I have had a German pair of snippers for over 40 years and never expected to find another really good pair of them at least at a good price. These are terrific and fit the bill!!! Thanks

As a Nurse I have had problems finding a suitable tool for cutting toenails. These are perfect If you or a family member have problems with thick toenails.

These scissors are useless. Only used them once but that was enough. They do not give a clean cut but tend to rip the nails. I’m no expert but seems to me that if the blades were thinner then they might be able to do a better job.

I received a stainless steel JAPONESQUE Pro Performance Toenail Nipper for free from TryItSampling, and I love it! I used the nipper on my toenails, and I felt like the cut was more precise compared to standard toenail clippers.

The blades are very sharp and easily cut my toenails. I also like that the blades are hand sharpened. It gives it a more artesan touch. The no slip handles are nice, and I like that they come with a little sheath to cover the blades when not in use.

This set of nippers make trimming my husband’s thick toenails a much more pleasant experience. The blades are sharp and sturdy. I also like the curve of the blades. It makes getting the right shape easier and quicker, which helps prevent ingrown toenails.

I actually bought this to trim my kids braces wires since the orthodontist said nail clippers would work, unfortunately cheap ones are not strong enough. These work great!

Needed to use on my tough, thick toe nails. Unable to see exactly what I was cutting, nearly cut off tip of little toe! Swivel feature tends to slip which makes it harder to use. Set aside the Better Toenail Clipper until I can devise a way to see exactly what I’m clipping! A good product for those with strong hands, keen eyesight.

This is the most amazing toenail clipper. In the market for new toenail clippers after Scholl springs broke on first use (they were not great at getting under my nails anyway). Came across these cantilevered ones and thought that I would give them a punt, partly because I was intrigued by the engineering.

In the event, I can say that they have exceeded my expectations, and raised the bar about what I should expect from nail clippers in future. They are very well finished, having a heavy and professional feel.

The cutters are very sharp and effective, the cantilever mechanism making light work of cutting through the thickest nails, and tending to retain the nail clippings for tidy disposal, rather than pinging them off to the four corners of the room.

As they are so well finished, they have been great for trimming, and less painful in use – the Scholl sprung-style clippers now feel like they were blunt and inefficient items by comparison. The accompanying nail file was a welcome bonus.

Powerful cutters for older peoples thick toenails, does the job well quality product considering buying a second set. The design means you need less power to cut nails, nice polished stainless finish.

Great price for excellent tool, had one for over 20yrs but got lost recently and finally found this as a replacement. Purchased two to have a spare on the side. Given today’s rate of inflation, these will be much pricier soon.

What makes these great is it is spring loaded and does not have the plastic grips which will eventually loosen or dry rot. This will be rust resistant so like our previous one, will last decades.

I’ve begun to have ingrown toenails- these are the best remedy I’ve found. The price is great and the pointed end gets into locations, removing the tricky nail none others have been able to do

Excellent quality, looks like a surgical instrument. Arrives nicely packaged in a custom felt lined box with a shield on the blades. Work perfectly on thick, curved nails. Very pleased with this product.

Nail clippers are pretty standard in my opinion. I got these at Target and they do the job just fine. I’ve had them for quite awhile and they work just like they did when I first got them. Great to keep in a purse or makeup bag for clipping things like tags or random strings!.

I really like the grippy part of this tool. Clips my nails easily and doesn’t leave the nail needing to be sealed like some clippers. Works well for fingers and toes just like it’s supposed to do 🙂 Would definitely recommend for at home nail trimming.

I did not lime this product. Metal shards came off when clipping my nail the first time. I wish i could sue this company but the metal didnt go into my nail bed. I am very upset about this product. It needs to go.

Go with a different brand. Doc if metal shaving come off and get photos. My hands were wet.

These little clippers cut a nice nail! They are sharp and do the trick asap. Handy file on the back of the ‘handle. ‘ I didn’t keep the plastic covers on and they do seem a bit superfluous to me. We got a few for stocking stuffers too! When you find something that works well.

I didn’t realize I purchased a large size when placed the order. But after using it, I actually love it. It’s sharp and works great to clip my nails. The cover of the clipper stores the small pieces while cutting the nails.

Easy to clean.

When I hold this clipper, it feels solid, and built of quality materials. The beak/cutter is sharp & precise. I did especially noticed that the arm lever is of a thicker design compared to a usual nail clipper — I think this also plays a huge part in making clipping really easy.

I bought another clipper at the same time as this, and Made in China doesn’t even come close. Highly recommended.

I had a mild stroke a few months ago that caused weakness and numbness in left hand and fingers and found cutting fingernails and especially toenails almost impossible using regular clippers. I just could not hold them in my fingers.

I can hold this one with no problem. Clippers often do no cut cleanly but this one cuts perfectly (although I might have gotten an especially good one – sometimes they don’t cut so good). I have no complaints about these clippers whatsoever.

I would not order from Walter Drake again as the extra $7. 95 added at checkout made the cost of this item more than we thought it should have been, but my customer really wanted it.

Good set of strong toenail clippers. Easy to use. Did a good job or clipping and shaping up my toenails and some toenails are on the thick side. These clippers had no problem trimming thicker nails. I’m pleased with this brand and would recommend them.

This particular clipper made by TRIM has a straight edge that allows you to trim straight across no matter how wide your toenail is. Also, I have purchased other good quality nail clippers and they rust and come apart fairly quickly.

I have not had trouble with this brand and type.

I should have believed some of the other reviews that said these clippers leave nails jagged. They do & that leaves a lot of nail filing to do. I first bought the costly & highly recommended Tweezerman nail clippers.

These are the best nail clippers I have ever had. I have had much more expensive ones and they were garbage. They cut clean and very comfortable to hold them.

I broke my old clippers and was forced to buy these. They leave your nails very jagged no matter how you cut them! My nails are now always catching on things. My old pair never did this and left my nails smooth.

Even in person, the design seemed sleek. 3. It has a nice hefty weight to it like it will hold up to the toughness of toe nails. The first time I used these I had just exited the shower and toweled off.

The thickness was a huge issue for this tool. It could grab on to the nail portion but once you pushed, it was like it had zero clipping ability I tried this exercise with completely dry toes. Results did not improve.

I used this once or twice on my finger nails and they performed fine. I did end up tossing them because I have others that do the job.

Just grabbed these during the spring sale going on right now. These are GREAT! My toe nails are so much harder to cut than my finger nails so I’ve been on the hunt for sturdier clippers. love these nail clippers – they work great and have such a nice spring for cutting. even my boyfriend uses them and was so impressed by how nice they were. will definitely consider using ulta brand products in the future after being so pleasantly surprised with these.
