Put these on right away. After a few months I took them off and all the inside was rusty. I did coat everything with marine grease which should protect it somewhat. I should have done that at first. Still look great on the outside.

I bought 2 of these locks and took ONE trip in the winter with them on the trailer. When I arrived at my destination I had trouble unlocking one of them. After the trip was completed I couldn’t get on of them off.

Finally after using wd-40 and waiting a bit it unlocked. I found the mechanism was completely rusted on the inside to the point of being unusable. Just like in the photo the other reviewer posted. These locks are junk.

These are awesome! Replaced my three Master locks, with a 2 inch shank. Which was a vulnerable point in securing my enclosed trailer. These have no shank, which means, a thief would need to be creative in busting the locks.

High quality chrome finish, and came with 9 keys, all keyed the same.

I purchased this lock to replace my original RV trailer door lock when the keys broke. Overall, the quality appears to be good on this replacement with a few exceptions. Firstly, the plastic inside release seems reasonably strong, but the latch is sometimes sticky and I’d be lying if I said I don’t worry about the plastic lever breaking eventually.

Also, the keys are very thin, and the lock cylinders could be smoother, which also worries me a bit. The strike plate mounting screws are very cheap, as the phillips head stripped out on one of my screws during installation.

Fortunately i could re-use the original screws which seem to be superior. Overall, the item looks very nice from the outside and inside. The finish seems very strong as well.

It works for now. Don’t like the plastic handle inside. Feels like it gonna break everytime it’s opened from inside. Breaks fingernails trying to open it from the inside. You will scrape your knuckles trying to open it from the inside.

If by chance you grab the inside handle wrong and try to open it, you will fall down. My wife can’t open it from the inside. If I go fishing before she wakes up, she is trapped all day, bonus! It gets an extra star For doing double duty as a restraining device! For some reason I thought it was metal like the stock handle.

The outside is nice, shiny, pretty, works well, and has never hurt anyone. yet.

This looked like a direct replacement for the lock I had on my RV. Although the screws that came with the latch looked like they were the correct size, they would not screw all the way in. I stripped the heads on the screw trying to install them.

I had to reuse the screws from the old latch to get it installed.

The sliding door latch is not removable. A common failure of the latch is the sliding latch itself. You suddenly cannot open the door and a takes hours to diagnose, lots of tools and needing to destroy the lock to get the door open.

You are required to buy a very expensive replacement that may have the same problem some day. I hope it does not happen to you in an emergency. When you get the “gold plated” replacement they have not updated the design to make it more repairable.

Once installed I could not get the door to close and since you cannot see why you have to guess. I guess I am getting a bit slow because all the online help was useless and I kept making the wrong guesses.

It turns out the pins that provide the rigidity of the door were oversized. They did provide the strike plate to match the pins and the only way to install it is to remove the door frame. So I replaced the pons from my old lock.

All of that could have been explained in an instruction sheet that was not sent.

Horrible quality! Do NOT buy if you full-time. Mine broke w/in a 6-8mo time of use then Camping World said they had no other replacements so I’d have to buy the same cheap one again. The service representative did say my issue was a very common thing and the company should try to refund me.

He sent an email but I never heard back. I never followed up either. Wishing another 6 month period the second lock broke(mind you I paid over $200 to replace the first one) but I was still able to rig things to survive w/a single lock.

Now after a few more months the handle pin is falling out and I’m often locked in the RV until I can find a leather man and a lot of strength to put the pin back in place. Doable but a fire hazard. TriMark doesn’t care and Camping World doesn’t seem to now either.

Waste of money. Go find a better one on Amazon!.

Perfect fit for our 2015 Thor Palazzo with main door behind the front wheels. The original was the pot metal slider that of course broke exactly as designed. I would be interested to know how much the steel latch pin in this replacement really added to the overall cost of the latch.

Surely not more than a $1 It’s always interesting to see where manufactures decide it’s a good idea to use inferior materials. How about on a door latch that when it breaks leaves the owner either stranded inside or outside of the coach with no possible way to gain access short of crawling through a window.

Anyway this latch went on in a just a few minutes and I didn’t even have to replace the strike piece that everyone seems to have issues with. Mine worked fine with this new latch. Hopefully this one holds up better than the original.

If you have a trailer… you need one of these… as an alternative to just a Master Lock… Buy it! You won’t be disappointed; JimK

Yes, these are keyed alike. This is the main reason I purchased them. BUT, it feels that the keying was reset manually by someone. This isn’t a problem, but the barrels for the keys are loose. They dont come out, but they sure feel like they are ready to.

Also, one of the locks doesn’t “click” like it should. It still locks but there is no click (this is a metal ring inside the lock that is mis-aligned). Overall still a good lock. I highly recommend that you take it apart and add some more grease to it, just be ensure it works for a long time.

The lock sets work just fine. They remove a lot of aggravation sincentives you only use one key. BUT they came with a bent key. How does a key get bent while still attached to the lock? Or why would someone attach a bent key to a lock set? At least I only have to get one key made rather than two keys for two different lock sets.

BUT forget using Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace; you have to use an actual locksmith – $6. 50 per key. Fastec needs to hire people who care.

I replaced my old loose worn out door lock with this one. & it was a major improvement. Nice & solid works smoothly very good quality.

I should have done a better job measuring the lock opening on the door and the lock dimensions. I tried to return the lock and was told it would cost 1/2 the lock price. RecPro recommended selling on eBay.

I don’t have time. Want to return the lock at my shipping cost, but RecPro has not returned my calls. Question my future purchasing from them/.

This was the exact product that my 2016 Jayco Alante had on it already. The product came with all of the hardware and fit perfectly. I had it swapped out in 15 minutes.

I bought with a hope and prayer and it worked. Took some finagling but it worked. Cheap fix.

While this lock was easy enough to install, the locking mechanism (as many previous reviews stated) just doesn’t do what it is meant to do. There is a lot of wiggling the key to either lock or unlock and when you are standing in the rain, fighting with the lock trying to get back into your pop-up, is not my idea of a good time.

Have to do some modification but looks awesome

Purchased this about 2 months ago since then it has rusted up become so hard to open to the point where I’ve had to lube it a lot just to try to get it to move which it work for about a day and tonight the key broke off inside of it while trying to turn it.

I purchased this for my enclosed trailer because it seems pretty tamper-proof, which is a great thing except when the key is broken off inside of it and you can not open your trailer. The description uses terms like weatherproof with no Springs to rust or Jam, and corrosion resistant.

Although it may be true that there are no Springs, but the whole locking mechanism rusted and jammed. Stay away, stay far away. There are plenty of other Pucklocks out there, not sure if they’re any better haven’t tried them, but this one is trash.

Seems like a very solid lock. Don’t know how pick proof it is. Paired up with the Blaylock T33 seems like a really formidable setup, something that only a angle grinder could defeat, for a reasonable (but not cheap cheap) cost.

Additionally, added a washer on each side to take any slack out of the pin. Also added a piece of 3/4″ steel pipe in the middle. Between the washers and pipe it takes away any gap so a hacksaw blade can’t get on the pin and strengthens the whole set up.

I purchased these locks for an enclosed trailer that was parked at a storage facility and not even being towed. A few months later when I went to open the locks one was extremely difficult to open and the other two would not open at all (one the key would go in and turn but the cylinder and pin would not drop and the other the key would not turn at all).

Had to call a locksmith which cost several hundred dollars to have the locks removed as they are also incredibly difficult to open once they rust up. Avoid these locks at all costs.

Shipped Fast. Worked well for replacement on Jayco Jayfeather Camper. The only problem was this replacement came with no directions on installation or how to get part unconnected for installation. Spring popped out trying to take apart to Install but was able to thankfully get back together.

Has a little best doors on the key holes. Have a heck of a time getting them to slide open you try to put the key in. He feels very sloppy and lock. Does seem to work okay though.

I used this to convert my bar style latch to rv style latch. It was pretty simple to install even though there are no instructions. Nice finish, smooth operation, and all the hardware was there.

We lost our old keys and replaced the locks with these. Perfect fit for our RV and a better finish than the factory ones.

Have bought several of these just to keep people honest. It is what it is, a deterrent. I lost the keys to one of them once, took my Dewalt grinder with cutoff disk to it and was able to cut through it in 2 minutes.

Assuming that a thief could do that as well in the middle of the night, but would cause alot of noise. I would think this in combination with other deterrents like a ball lock, heavy duty chain with lock around the rims to a post in concrete, would be best to deter a thief.

The combination of multiple deterrents would take Too much time and energy and noise to cut everything and a chance of getting caught.

I think these might be the best coupler locks made in terms of design. I wish they made them higher quality though. Maybe Boron. The one I had broke in the key area somehow, no idea how, to where I could no longer insert the key at all.

And it wasnt due to rust or stuck pins. I still liked it so much I bought 2 more for my other trailers. I will say, you need to measure the size you need because it was a very tight fit so it wouldnt always lock unless I squeezed it together.

But thats what you want! A thief cant get a saw blade in there to cut it off.

Have no idea why the review page asks to rate the sheerness and thickness of this lock. In any case, it is not really well made, constantly requires the key to be in the lock to be closed over your hitch.

Perhaps that’s a safety feature so that you don’t lock your hitch without the key, but quite annoying to fumble with the keys every time you touch the lock. The “rubber” weather seal that is supposed to cover the lock opening falls off every time you try to open the seal.

If it does not get lost, I doubt it will actually prevent weather from getting into the lock. I would not recommend buying this lock.

The locks are very very hard to get the key in . And the locks are Loose and move in and out like they are going to fall out !!!!!! Would not buy again !!!! Poor Quality !!!!!

Our trailer already had a handle like this but had broke. It fit in perfectly and works like it should with no modification.

The latch did not mount exactly as the original did l on my 2003 Nash 25R and I had a difficult time getting it adjusted to latch properly. It always seemed to be too tight. I finally thought I got it set right but when we went on a long trip we got locked out because of the tightness.

I was finally able to get the door open and I had to remove the latch plate for it to function. I still haven’t messed with it since we got home. I don’t think I can carve any more meat out of the strike plate.

Wish I had bought OEM for a little more money. I did like that it came with 4 keys. They only give you 2 with OEM and charge way too much for extra.

They work fine when installed. I bought them, because they are all keyed CH751 so I need only one key, but that also means that thousands of people have the same key as you do. They are also easy to pick with a pen knife.

However, if someone rally wants in and you are at a remote campsite, they’ll get in regardless. They are not easy to install. When you remove the latching bar from the back end, so you can install them, the key core can fall out, dumping the latch pens on the ground.

Fortunately, if you look at the key’s highs and lows and the color of the pens, you can decipher which pens go where. I’ve not had this problem with other latches of this type. Final thoughts. They are inexpensive and they work fine after you get them installed.

They work, but the keyhole has no inner flap to block the opening. So water and crud can get into the lock. I suspect I might get two seasons out of these.

This is just a standard generic RV lock that if you are replacing and want to keep the standard CH751. Do not buy if you think the key will be one of a kind.

The good: Its is the same part as my original but upgraded with a steel lock plunger as opposed to the sorry pot metal one in original. It fit ok in original cavity. I’ve seen and read online where folks have been either locked inside or outside of their RV.

This is what happened to myself while on a recent camping trip, good thing I have a class C and was able to get out the cab door. The vender had a good price and it didn’t take long to get it in the mail.

I think this one will hold up better, bottom line thou RV doors and components get the brunt of usage, Time will tell. The not so good: although the part was identical, there was one little cog on back dead bold lock cylinder which actuates the deadbolt from a rod.

The original mechanism had one place tab for the rod to insert in. The new part has a three-place cog, which obstructed the installation of the outer half of the lock. Nothing a little messaging with a dremel tool couldn’t, I removed two of the tabs and it popped in easy peasy.

I didn’t ever mess with the striker plate seeing how there was no difference.

The only reason that I bought this product was that the one in my 2013 motorhome broke internally and had to be replaced. This one is a complete redesign even though it looks almost the same on the outside.

The new design replaces the part that broke on the old one and appears to be less likely to fail. I should have called Trimark before ordering this one as they offered to send me a replacement but I declined since I had already ordered this one.

I did have to use a grinder to remove some unused tabs on the new one to make it fit in place of the old one. The new one is on top in the photos below. The part that broke on the old one was the three legged white plastic piece.

It was supposed to pull the striker back but when it broke there was no way to open the door from the inside or out. I had to escape out of a window and use a drill motor to destroy the latch enough to get at the plunger and pull it back.

This was the same brand as the one i replaced. Wouldn’t you think it could identically fit? NO. As i read from other reviews it took modification. I was not able to remove the old striker plate from the door jam without ripping out the door frame.

So i left the old one in, which was perfectly fine. However, the new lock and handle assembly has different size guide bolts that slide and guide into the striker plate. I was able to unscrew these bolts from the old one and behold they had the same threads.

WoW something went right. The other modification was also to the lock assembly. I had to grind off some metal tabs on the new one to make it fit in the door. They were not on the old one, and i could not see where they served any function.

The handle works fine now and all the locks function as they should. Yes i would buy it again because as far as i could see all replacement handles were going to require some modification. From the online dealers and my local rv store.

Seems well made & works OK so far (haven’t used door much since replacing old lock); however. — it did not fit the hole in the actual door of the old one was in due to there being some sort of star like clip associated with the deadbolt lock.

I had to open that corner of the hole a bit. but be careful as if you enlarge the hole much the trim may not cover the expanded opening (I found that out the hard way so had to caulk the opening a bit) — the “fixed posts” on the lock that secure it to the door frame required me to grind open the door frames “slots” a bit (a very awkward task as there is little room to work).

Again, be careful not to take too much off or the security feature of the lock may not work. Still, I like it and I like the fact that it has 2 sets of keys and both the latch & deadbolt fit into the existing holes in the door frame just fine (which made me wonder why the ‘posts’ didn’t fit too).

My problem is with TRIMARK. their door latch is a very POORLY designed product. This is the 3rd one I’ve replaced in 6 years. There is a “Pot metal” and plastic internal pieces that fail and you must replace the whole thing! They are the most expensive mechanical latch mechanism on the market and I firmly believe TRIMARK designs them to fail after a couple of years.

The only reason I purchased another one is it is the only mechanical latch/lock mechanism that fits the cabin door cutout. AGAIN this is NOT the eBay vendor’s problem. At $90 & free delivery is was cheaper by far than anyone else.

Easy, quick replacement for broken or missing compartment locks. Only minor issue is this doesn’t have the keyway cover that vast majority of original equipment locks do. Best to pay some attention to periodic oiling/cleaning with silicone spray or WD40.

Item shows coming with both types of cam arms but only came with straight one. Also very low quality lock body that totally fell apart when I removed the screw to install the cam. ( which wasn’t the one I needed ).

Easy locking and unlocking. The plastic dust cap is great. It keeps out dust and moisture ingress. Have used it for about four months, so far no corrosion issues. Good quality product!
