I bought this for my club container, fitted a standard container just fine. More expensive than some locks, but since I need 24 keys the cost of the lock is minor, whereas security is vital. Very satisfied.

The shielded Boron Carbide shackle is 80% tougher than normal hardened annealed steel and will take the teeth off a hacksaw and smirk at bolt croppers! Yeah, I was impressed! The relatively big digit wheels revolve easy but have to be aligned perfectly or the release plate wont budge. The release plate (on the bottom of the padlock) is made of Zinc so will snap if brute forced with a crow-bar or hammer hence protecting the mechanism.

A hardened steel pin in the release plate would still operate the mechanism after a blunt force attack. I found the code very easy to change with the supplied pin-setting tool. Just open padlock by setting initial code, pull release plate, open shackle, insert pin-setting tool, change digits, close shackle, push release plate up and you’re done.

I’ve just bought two of the 50mm version of this padlock and my impression is favourable. Setting a new combination to open the lock is simple and overall the padlock looks like it will provide the security and reliability I need at a fair price.

Having had the padlocks for only a short period of time I’ve given an overall 4* rating which fairly reflects my initial impression.

The padlock is strong, heavy and really looks the part on our gate lock. However to reiterate a previous reviewer, the numbers don’t positively click into position. So it takes a few goes to work out why it doesn’t open, one only number needs to be a fraction out.

With cold hands and gloves on, it’s quite easy to move the wrong numbers and make it worse. My wife is asking me to take this back, for some peace I’ll probably do it.

You’re only going to open this lock with a key or a grinder. Very tough little lock. It was ordered next business day but turned up 4 working days later courtesy of ‘Evri’ to nominated branch, delay typical apparently.

Motor overheated on newly purchased used boat. Obvious pump issue. After a bit of research settled on this, but skeptical. Kit comes with pieces we didn’t need, but had all the parts for a COMPLETE pump assembly replacement.

Replacing this was the easy part, getting the lower unit on, well, different story. BUT, the water pressure is way up and no overheat, so very pleased. Overall very pleased it worked as advertised, and does what it is supposed to.

We’ll see how long it lasts, but for the price compared to shops, it was a steal. I’m warming up to Sierra products after this purchase, well done Home Essentials Direct.

I bought these to replace the storage compartment locks that came on my 2016 RV. It came with the locks that nearly every RV is supplied with and nearly Key in the US will open. These keys are different so that is the good part and they also lock easily.

The bad part is they dont seem to be put together as well as the original locks. Seems to be more play in them. If I had to do it over, Id probably spend more money and get a more quality product. These work, they do the job, just not impressed with the quality.

Solid feel. Great plating and solid feel of the key on each pin, you know when it is unlocked. Come with two different lug lengths. I needed three for my RV to make it keyed unique (most manufacturers use the same key cut for all doors, not secure!).

The external shower hatch has a much shorter length so I took one of the spare lugs and bent it to work, even shortening it about 10mm (3/8″). Now all a keyed alike and unique! This was most important on the front storage pass through as one could enter my RV through these doors, pushing up the master bed.

So IF I get time, the 4th lock will be a master bed hatch hold down.

Needed a braided nylon rope for Dog training. This item stands up to repeated use in somewhat rough conditions. Needed a fifty foot length. 3/16 inch in diameter is just enough.

Canadian Tire is one professional place and provide the best products within their ability. I bought this goods(King Cord/Nylon, 3/16″ * 50’=4. 8m*15. 2m) for moving and tight the new mattress on the car: effective and supportable.

I use this rope for small craft projects. Its easy to cut and singe burn ends so it wont ravel. This product goes a long way. My fourth puchase.

Light weight: When I picked it up from the display I wondered is this plastic? It looks great, but I doubt will stop a bullet. I’ve had a bit of trouble getting to lock once it’s in the latch as the gap between the lock posts is narrower than I expected.

In fact I’ve noticed it pop open once it’s clicked shut. I’ll probably replace it sooner than later with a more traditional looking lock.

“The four pin cylinder prevents picking” Not at all true. This lock can be opened without a key in as little as 10 seconds. For the record, the packaging does not claim that the lock “prevents picking”, so I’m not sure why Target put that in the description.

I really trust this lock. I don’t need it to secure anything valuable, just to make sure my property isn’t just carried away and this does the job very well. The shackle locks firmly and the key rotates the lock smoothly.

Great protection for the size. Perfect size. Won’t break the bank.

This is a super secure, super solid heavy duty lock which I loved when I bought it, however I used it to chain my motorbike and from day 2 I could see rust on the shank – not coming from the shank but from inside the lock.

Now after one month of use, oiling it every couple of days with GT85, I have had to remove the lock because it is harder and harder to remove. The lock squeaks as I turn the shank and the key is hard to insert.

So in short it’s a superb lock and very tough but I think it’s only suitable for indoor or sheltered use with regular lubrication.

Brilliant!!! Had one on the garage for years, got a better car so this is a bigger lock than the previous one.

A very good lock for the money . I just wish locks would come with more keys as you always need more than two and when you get them cut they never fit as well as the originals

My neighbour told me about some burglaries around home, so I bought a couple of these locks in an attempt to secure our house. So far, so good! The code is easy to set, and the locks feel tough enough.

Only time will tell. One is on a ladder, and the other locks the outhouse. Prices of the locks varied a lot, but this one is sensible – in fact the Ledbury branch were very helpful, and suggested this mid-priced one.

I haven’t tried picking the locks myself, as you can do on cheap ones, but these seem rigid enough to make feeling for the lock to partly release difficult.

Title say it all. I honestly can not find a better lock for security to the gates I have fitted over the years. My only small gripe I have with it is that the outer face that first comes into contact with the key before you push the key further into the barrel.

it spins freely and sometimes doesn’t line up with the barrel which means spinning the outer face until it lines up allowing the key to be inserted fully. This isn’t a huge issue for me but has lead to clients calling me saying the lock is broken.

After a little explaining they understand what the issue is and how to resolve it. I now explain this directly after fitting and I haven’t had a customer complain of the issue since. Keeper is large enough for any drop that may occur in the gate over time so no need to adjust it.

Can be fitted with a pull handle on one side for ease. I often fit the 2 keyhole variant of this lock. Looks smart and looks clean over time. Cannot be used as a gate latch.

I bought these padlocks for external hatches on my sailing boat. Previously I have used the 50mm Squire padlock which have been good but getting rather costly. Being out in the marine environment they need to be rustproof.

In many ways padlocks on a boat are a deterrent not a solution as a determined villain will get in regardless of how much damage they cause.

If you spend money to buy a security chain, then you should get a heavy duty lock to go with the chain. This padlock is stamped: “Made in Italy”. Hopefully the quality control is better than products from China.

The lock fits snuggly on the 3/8″ Pewag chain. I can’t comment if paired with other chain sizes or brands. It’s easier to put on the end links, than the middle link.

Excellent engineering on this classic chain lock. Note that these and similar locks are designed to be used in a specific way. This is typically to attach the end links of a single chain that is sized for the lock, I’ve seen 5/16″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ variations, into a solid loop.

Great for bikes, looped around double gates, or if installed correctly, over doudle hasp locks without the chain.

When camping in our RV, we needed a chain and lock combo that would deter easy theft of two generators and a few other valuables. This 3/8″ lock/chain combo is substantial and adds a little peace of mind when we’re away from the campsite.

This is a very heavy duty lock. Wanted to use this on my shed but the shackle is to big. Make note when you buy, this isn’t the standard size. Wont fit in a lot of holes. We use it on our trucks over the bed tool box.

These locks are not high quality or high strength. These locks also were not fully detailed as to their required operation in the description. I have never seen a lock that has to be unlocked, removed and locked again to remove the key.

I wanted to use this 3 lock set for my enclosed trailer, which requires 2 locks for the back lift door and 1 lock for the side door. With this peculiar lock design you are required to, unlock and lock each of the 3 individual locks to remove each lock and remove the key from each lock.

You can not the remove the key in open position. To lock up the trailer would require the same process. Open each lock and lock each lock with the key to remove the key from each lock. If this process is OK with you, buy these locks.

If you decide that you don’t like this design, you will be required to pay return shipping costs plus 20% restocking fees. As for me, I am going with the conventional high strength and high security padlocks for dependable and much easier operation.

I purchased this for use at my gym, but unfortunately the shackle is too thick to fit the locker lock loop. Weight seems pretty hefty, & the lock overall looks tough. Yet, the build quality might be questionable, as depicted in my pics where the shackle has a lot of wiggle room where it slides in & out, which makes me wonder if a thief is desperate enough & has a tool that can pry it to damage & possibly break the shackle casing area.

Was expecting a little more heavy duty lock. These are very light duty, purchased because I could get all 3 keyed alike. I had previous locks from U-Haul that were very sturdy, and could probably withstand a sledge hammer assault.

But they were not keyed alike, and it was a pain fumbling for 3 keys. These locks, I’m afraid will not thwart someone determined to break in. Hopefully I won’t have to put these through the test. Good value though.

Attractive, functional, and strong. Bought for my dock Box and works great. Owned for about six months and still looks and works like new. Bought a second one for another dock box 2 days ago. Only wish they were available with a “keyed alike option”.

Not overly a problem as when I had extra keys made for the new lock I had the clerk notch the new keys to help determine which key to use for each lock.

I am an engineering student who had to use this lock for a project in my Material Selection in Mechanical Design class. The packaging says it is solid brass, however, this is not the case. Most of the parts of the lock are leaded brass.

There seems to be false advertisement here.

I bought these these padlocks to replace two old ones that we had used for several years. The longer shaft is perfect. They are keyed the same which is something that we were looking for.

I have 2 large gates that come together and this was hat I needed. I had bought 2 other locks but they were not the quality this is.
