Very good Product. Genuine and easy to fit/install. However, it would be useful for any future purchaser if you could specify more clearly about the fitting of spindles that come with the product. It is essential that the spindles are fitted as well as the Padlock because without the fitting of the spindles the Patlock is not fully bullit proof and any would be burgler will still be able to enter the property as non-fitting of the spindles renders the Padlock much weaker, similar to an Achilles Heel problem So please ensure in future descriptions that its essential to have the spindles installed – 4 star rating because this is not specified, otherwise it would have been a 5 star rating.

I bought this product to feel more secure in my home. It is extremely easy to install. Looks and is sturdy. Neat. Can be visually seen from outside to deter thieves. Amazing value as I also saw it in a well known DIY shop a lot more expensive! Was the same product too.

Definitely recommend this product for security value quality and easy to install. Quick on and off from inside family have actually purchased this too.

Needed a replacement latching mechanism for my sliding glass patio door as an internal spring broke. This unit was a perfect fit and an easy project to replace. The only negative was that I had to move the keeper that the latch catches, which was easily done.

When purchasing, be sure to remove the old mechanism and measure it, the first units I found had different dimensions than the unit I had, though they looked identical in the pictures.

Replaced a patio door latch that had lasted about 15 years. This one fit perfectly. Easy replacement. Instructions say to be careful not to drop it into the door. In my case, the latch is inset into a frame that prevents dropping the unit into the door.

Much easier than having to balance weights on string as the instructions suggest. Seems to be well built and should last a long time.

I purchased this E2014 sliding door lock and it fit & worked perfectly. Just be sure to use a vice grip to hold the lock tounge while your removing the old lock set and installing the new one. You need to do this so the old & new locks do not fall to thd bottom of the door.

Also use the old screws because the new ones are kind of cheap.

Works just fine, but you the cut points on the rod are not all where they should go. For our door and I had to take it to the grind stone, because the one notch was too long and the next one too short.

With a little handyman tinkering it works just fine.

This was easy to install, and fit our patio door handle perfectly. However, the cylinder rod broke less than a month after I installed it. The rod separated from the locking mechanism, leading me to keep turning the key– with nothing happening to the latch.

I wouldn’t buy this again if I had the choice, but it’s the ONLY cylinder available across all the DIY stores.

Great price, I shopped around and this was the best price I could find. My locksmith wanted almost $30 for each cylinder. Locks fit my patio sliding doors only had to trim the shaft. Shaft has notches where you can easily adjust the length by breaking off what you don’t need to match you existing shaft length.

This is about the only thing I purchased from Build. com that disappoints me. It is fussy to install (the clasp must line up precisely with the pocket) and doesn’t tolerate much of any play in the door.

However, the worst aspect is the teeny tiny lock handle (we have to lock doors against the cats). It doesn’t appear to be well thought out. You can’t get a good grip on it with normal finger strength.

If Schlage fixed this, it might rate 4 stars.

My contractor just tried to install two Schlage 991 pocket door locks. The quality is terrible. He is proposing using chicken wire to strengthen the connection. And as other reviewers have said, these are NOT reversible.

I have a Jack-and-Jill bathroom; in attempting to reverse the lockset, it simply falls out.

I just installed two of these. The guts of the door lock are very cheaply made. The function is poor, at best. Not smooth at all. I’ve been a custom home builder for 30 years. It irritates me that some things are now so cheaply made.

I would gladly pay more for a well made product. The service at build. com, however, is first rate,.

Works well on any door with uneven door to wall surface. I had to use washers to raise one side. So maybe an extra plate like they provide in traditional door knobs would be helpful.

The metal is strong and sturdy, the pieces connect well. All around this is a good loop latch, it worked for what I needed them (got two) for.

This lock is very easy to install in minutes. Once installed it adds additional security to any door.

This is a fabulous product. I had boards at the bottom of the sliding glass doors, so glad to get rid of the boards. I do think they are a little over priced but its working well

It appeared to be the exact same lock as the one we were replacing, but after installing it and removing it a couple of times, the lock was too tight to use. We were not able to use it.

I have relied on Kwikset locks in of my homes through the decades as my family and I have made many a move from residence to residence. As we never know who has lived in a home, who has the keys, or the quality of the locks, we always buy new Kwikset locks.

I was incredibly pleased to see this tech savvy and advanced Kwikset Halo Keypad Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Lock. Before this Wi-Fi enabled smart lock, I had experience with another WiFi enabled app to my garage door and absolutely loved that.

The app was easy to utilize and customize to suit our needs. So making the transition to this KwikSet Halo Keypad Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Lock was an easy one. I am not a professional handyman, but I am a handy person and do most of my home maintenance myself.

As a frame of reference, I did replace an older existing lock with this new KwikSet Smart Lock. Installation was easy, only basic tools required (included were 4 AA batteries and 2 keys) and instructions were clear with pictures to assist.

After installation, I simply scanned the included QR code (or could have downloaded the KwikSet App) to set up my KwikSet account. One helpful tip I did, at least until I got more used to the System Alerts, was that I took a photo of the System Alerts to have readily stored on my phone for a quick reference.

It was convenient that KwikSet does give the user the option to re-key the lock to existing keys, but we chose to utilize the included keys sent with the lock. My entire family enjoys being able to confidently lock/unlock the door through the KwikSet App and not have to worry about carrying around (and potentially losing) a set of keys.

We also enjoy the fact that if we are away from our home and expecting guests to arrive that all we do is safely let them in our house through the tap from the app from wherever we happen to be or give them a pre-determined (and one-time user) code to utilize the keypad to, again, safely lock/unlock the door.

We like the fact that we enjoy the various options we have, one being we can set a code to work at any time (typically for our neighbors who watch over our house when we are away) or we can set a specific date/date range for our cat sitter who comes in to check on our furry felines while we are away.

A household can customize as many as 250 codes (a lot), so I doubt we’ll run out of options. We had no issues connecting the KwikSet lock to our router or downloading the app on our Android devices. The KwikSet app and integrating it with our Google Home Device allows us to have the freedom and confidence to always know who is entering/exiting our home, and through the app and home device, we can always ensure that our home is safely locked.

I was looking for a replacement lock for our pocket door and our local hardware stores (including Ace and Home Depot) only had a flimsy one in brass. I then went to Amazon and the price was 2x as much.

So happy with the purchase. Installed easily works great.

Love this! It has a nice, solid weight to it, and it’s pretty easy to switch sides (changed ours to open right to left instead of left to right).

This is a quality product. It feels well worth the investment, just by the weight! The device is smartly designed for fast fitting & removal internally. The only downside is there is no additional keylock to prevent unauthorized removal by an intruder already in the property! This is however an exceptional product, and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this product to anyone for additional security in keeping the unauthorized intruders out!.

Such a good quality and extremely easy to use lock for french doors, making it much more difficult for thieves to gain entry to a vulnerable space. Build quality is great and simplicity itself to use which is clearly visible from outside of the doors, acting as an effective deterrent.

I have no hesitation in recommending this device for its ease of use and adding another level of security to our home.

I first became aware of this product at a vacation rental home. It was a seamless addition to the door and provided additional security both from within (keeping toddlers away from the pool area)and without, providing more security than the ordinary sliding door latch.

A breeze to install, but be sure to have a masonry bit available if necessary depending on your outer structure. The included screws are long and I broke 2 regular bits trying to get the depth I needed for the screws.

I purchased two locks and highly recommend them.

I haven’t installed them yet. My sister and Brother-in-Law have one at their rental house in Orlando and I felt it was very secure, better than the original locks that come on the doors. I don’t like the rod my husband put in the track or the pin, this is much easier to use.

Though the instruction are not clear (does it go on the wall or on the slider door/), it was easy for an Engineer, like myself, to figure it out. It only took me 15 minutes to get it installed. Very pleased with the product and would recommend them to friends.

I heard about these from a fellow RANGER for my home security and I immediately bought one for my inward swinging door and outward swinging door and I DO NOT regret it one bit! If you are on the fence get off of it now and buy them! If you love your family and want them to have another level of security, this is it! Pull the trigger and add another layer of security for the ones you love and your property.

If you are concerned about fire safety, I was a firefighter for years as well and approve this product. Just make sure you train and educate yourself and family on how it works. I have my family take turns locking it at night and removing it during the day as well so that it becomes muscle memory.

I have not installed as yet, however this security plate is obviously very substantial. By the weight of it alone you can tell it’s going to do the job as described. Others I’ve seen for sale were not nearly as hefty.

I don’t expect installation to be difficult and I have brick floors.

I bought this for the one pocket door we have and it is exactly what I wanted. The name is misleading, however, as it does not lock, but it functions perfectly as a pull, is easy to use and looks sharp.

I bought this in the oil rubbed bronze which goes very well with the other knobs and pulls which are also oil rubbed bronze. I had carpenters install it, and it seems to be the one door knob they had no trouble installing.

Complete waste of money and useless for the purpose sold. Slanted edges prevent you from getting a grip on pull; you have to grab the “beveled” frame of door itself to pull it closed. Purchased Emtek because we thought it would be better quality.

Have had to reorder a SEPARATE pull, which we’ll install above this one, thereby spending even more money to basically ruin the look of high quality pocket doors. Lesson learned.

I have pocket doors that were built in ’75 and needed new pulls. Everything available was not an exact fit and was smaller than the existing cut out. Then I found these which appeared to be (and are) an exact replacement.

They slid right in. The quality is very good. The flip out pulls are metal (my old ones were plastic). A little pricey but since I didn’t have to replace or patch the door to accommodate a smaller pull, worth it for me.

My original 3 star review was written more than a year ago. I would like to thank the 2 people who wrote to tell me there was a way to manage users by following some online instructions. I am also sure there have also been improvements to the Z-Wave protocols, but I opted to sell the Z-Wave module and hub, and purchased the “Connected By August” Module which met all expectations.

This module is standalone and does not require a hub. I can create owner and guest lists, lock and unlock the door remotely, see a log of activity, and set timing for re locking the door automatically.

I am changing my rating to 5 stars using the “Connect By August’ module. I love this lock. It’s very well made and is conceptually the best suited for my needs. I think it is by far the best looking of all the smart locks I looked at, and I looked almost all of them.

If you read the professional reviews you will see everyone raves about the August Smart Lock. This is a good product but you need to have your cell phone with you or use a key. With the Yale Assure Lock SL with Z-Wave Plus you need only enter a code or use your cellphone for access.

So Why only 3 stars you might ask. Well, I bought the Z-Wave version so that I could Lock and unlock remotely, manage security codes, and monitor access. I purchased a Samsung Smartthings Hub (another $69) and was able to connect my new lock and this is where I feel the lock falls short of expectations.

Since Yale does not have an app that works with this lock, you are stuck with the functionality of the Z- Wave hub. In the case of Smartthings, you are stuck with lock and unlock functions and a report of battery status.

Manually adding user codes and changing options via the keypad is an arduous endeavor that involves following a decision tree and avoiding timeouts. These functions should be handled by an Android or Apple APP, I mean, isn’t that what you paid for with the optional Z-Wave Module.

I’m very confused as to why Yale would make such a great lock, charge a premium for Z-Wave functionality, and not have a working app to take advantage of it. s potential.

This is my 3rd Yale Assure SL. Of all the smart locks out there, this one is the most full featured. In my case, I wanted to make it harder for burglars to enter, which this delivers on as there’s no keyhole at all! It would take either breaking the deadbolt (hard to do on ANSI grade 2), or hacking it (hard to do with encryption).

In addition, being WiFi connected by August, the lock can be monitored and unlocked from anywhere with an internet connection!.

Excellent lock! Locks and unlocks quickly, plenty of features that are easily configurable, and feels well made. Finish is pretty scratch resistant in the two months it’s been installed. The Z-Wave communication with SmartThings is pretty quick, not the fastest but within 1-2 seconds of commands.

I use the custom RBoy SmartLock App and Universal Device handler and it worked well after the handler being played place for an hour and toggling each feature on/off once. The battery is still reported as 100%, unlock notifications (per-code) work perfectly, and the lock/unlock has never failed.

I love the lit keypad and quality feel of the buttons compared to my previous Schlage electronic lock. The other lock had so many motor issues even after being replaced, whereas this one has worked reliably since purchase.

If you’re looking for a great Z-Wave Plus lock, this is it. Highly recommended.

Exactly as noted on description, quick shipment, installs easily – make sure to measure and also make sure you have either a 45 degree or 90 degree. Other than that it’s a no brainer. Local box stores did not even know what a mortise lock was.

Instead of running all over town to the specialty places found this on Amazon, made the measurements of current to specified measurements on the item. Replaced a lock that finally gave out from original installation almost 20 years ago on a Pella slider.

This unit heavier and looks to be more solidly constructed than the old one – works great best the lock mechanism has worked in years. Will be ordering 2 more to replace in 2 more sliders soon.

I replaced my mortise lock. It was an easy process. I feel that this lock is much better than the lock provided with the door. I’m shocked at the length of the screws that were in my old door. The screws in the new lock were quite a bit longer than the ones I was replacing so I feel much more secure.

Everything works smoothly, and I’m very pleased.

After I purchased and installed the dual cylinder lock (key used on both sides of cylinder to prevent someone from reaching in and turning deadbolt by hand after breaking window) I knew what was coming from my wife—we can’t have this, if there is a fire getting key and unlocking will not work.

I showed here the slot in the wall I made with key placement and also were i put a secondary key (also near the door). Once again i was told this will not work. I showed her the benefit that if someone broke a window they could not reach in and unlock door and left it at that.

Over the next few days I watched her as she would run, grab stored key, and unlock door. I also observed her doing the same—but without grabbing key and pretend to turn a deadbolt handle. I never brought up the issue again and after a few days when she left to run errands I took out the Double Cylinder Deadbolt and i reinstalled a traditional Single Cylinder.

When she returned the very first thing she said was why do we have this unsafe lock back in the front door. I believe that the above story tells it all. When you want safety, you want Kwikset and the Double Cylinder Deadnoult.

I rarely write reviews, but for this I will! Don’t buy! Smartkey tech is a great concept however the design is bad! I’ve been locked out of my house numerous times due to the deadbolts failing randomly to recognize my key! Kwikset has replaced the deadbolts 5+ times and each one eventually fails! Sometimes it takes weeks for them to replace it! Look it up online!.

I love these locks. a single key for all the outside doors – front, back and side – makes it so convenient. On top of that I have bought a smartkey kwikset padlock for the gate which also opens with the same key.

Convenient and minimalist. No problems for past 2 years. One lock was a bit sticky and was not opening well with the key. I rekeyed it to the same key and now it works smoothly. The satin nickel finish has stayed well.

This is a well made security hasp. The mounting screw heads are hidden by the device and can only be accessed when the hasp is unlocked. The hinges in the hasp are forgiving so that if you misalign it a little during installation, it will still work.

Combine it with a good quality hardened steel padlock, and you have excellent security.

I wanted to add a padlock in the middle of my cross-bed toolbox on my truck. That is the weakest point, and thieves will pry the lid up in the middle and defeat the built in locks. Adding a lock to the middle can prevent that.

I my case, the lid on my tool box had a 45 degree beveled edge, and this hasp fits over it like it was made for it. Very pleased with it actually. There was a bit of a tab (that IMO is completely unnecessary, that I guess is in place to help line up the the hasp with the ubolt part where you put the lock through.

It prevented me from using the bigger lock I wanted, so I just took a Dremel tool to it and cut that part off and problem solved. That was really my only issue with it. With a slightly smaller lock, that wouldn’t have been an issue either.
