Read the directions carefully before attempting to set the combo, the little card acts as the screwdriver and will stay fastened inside the safe on top of the buttons with the arrows.

Get this under a good light so you can see how to turn the arrows you want to use as your combination numbers. The markings are fairly subtle, so look for them carefully. Combination is used in opening and also in reclosing.

Once this safe is bolted into place, it’s pretty good security, but don’t expect it to be perfect. It’s not for holding the key to the Crown Jewels. A very determined thief could defeat this safe, and most others as well.

If it’s in a carefully concealed spot and under a monitored camera, that’s much better than putting a key under a doormat, using a phony rock, etc. Don’t tell people about it, and don’t use it in front of anyone.

nice neat unit. cannot leave any id tags on the keys as it will block closing the unit door. probably needs to be manufactured with a greater depth. Land Rover keys are too long so will need to rearrange system to suit.

Perfect to organize the extra keys and fobs for our fire station. Also able to restrict access to certain keys. Lots of quality tags to use for organizing as well. Only problem is that it came with just one key to get in the box.

Will have to change the lock on it to get multiple keys for it. Other than that it is nice. Note: this is not a high level security lock box. Will only keep honest people out.

We have been using these cabinets for years and recently added another two. It would be great if the hooks were a little longer, but otherwise they are well made, secure and durable. I also use the small version at home to secure my car keys at night.

It does the trick. I’d like to see it just a little more secure though. For example, the screw holes you use to mount it to the wall face in the same direction, so if you wanted to steal the whole thing, all you gotta do is hit it from underneath and it’ll pop off the wall.

A third hole that secures it to the wall would be a good feature. Or rather, one that you didn’t have to drill into it yourself.

Good quality. I was disappointed to find only two mounting holes. Because it contains keys it should have at least 4 mounting points to assist in preventing removing from the wall.

This is a great item for emergency lock-out situations. The white color blends well with the white wall where it’s attached. Enter a (set by you) numbered code and you get access to a key. This is similar to the lock boxes used by realtors at homes-for-sale, only it is more permanent.

Be sure to use long screws (bolts would be better) and attach it to a sturdy surface. It helps to conceal it so it isn’t obvious to criminals. It I have any complaints it’s that when setting it, the arrows which indicate if a number has been chosen when selecting a code are very difficult to read.

I bought this product because we needed an external key safe but, because of the nature of the building, we could not have a safe permanently fixed to the wall. The portable key safe provides an ideal solution – it is chained to the railings outside the front door of the multi-occupancy building and enables carers to access my brother who needs care regularly during each day.

The rubber cover protects the safe from the weather very effectively. The code system is not high security in that the numbers can be keyed in in any order and I suspect that anyone who wanted to could work the code out.

But in this case, that doesn’t represent too much of a problem. The various carers using the safe seem to have no difficulty in operating it, both to gain access to the keys and to replace them at the end of their visits.

if you keep locking yourself outside without keys then it is for you. Also good if you have kids who don’t usually carry keys. It looks well built but I don’t know how much beating it can take if someone want’s to break it.

One issue I have is that when you want to return the cover and key back, you have to dial the code and move the slider – just like when you open it. It’s not a deal breaker, just a little more work.

This Stor-A-Key is by far the best combination case I have found, the quality and the price are both very good! The metal case is lined with foam and I was able to put 3 house keys with the ring inside.

The magnet is strong and holds a metal plate that has an adhesive strip on it in case you want to stick it to a surface. It also has a place to put a plastic tie-off or string if you are going to hang it up.

First off this is made of plastic. Could easily be cracked open. One reviewer said it was metal. It is not at all. So what’s the purpose of the combination if it’s plastic. With that being said it does open and close smooth and it is magnetic.

But hide it well if yur serious about whatever u have locked up.

Very useful cabinet with keycode entry so that if more than one is purchased, they can be coded alike without locksmith intervention. All tags and hooks supplied inside.

You can literally be in and out of this box in under 60 seconds (even less) without anyone ever knowing. A design flaw and weak point of this box is the hinge pin/rod, located on the outside can easily been tapped out from either the top or bottom end of the hinge, giving full, unnoticeable access to the box.

If you have access to a mig welder you can fix this by giving it a tiny tac weld at each end so the pin cannot be removed. They should have though of this while designing the box. So for that reason one star rating for the huge joke and guise of “security”.

I anxiously awaited the arrival of this product as I heard lots of good things about this, including lots of positive good reviews from Walmart. com. When i opened the box I was immediatly disappointed.

The cabinet looked and felt very cheap. When the box was locked it still was able to open about 1/4 of an inch. The two adjoining sections of the cabinet butt up directly against each other, they don’t overlap.

You can look into the box even though it was locked. Also, there were a few shoddy welds where the paint didn’t adhere properly. Lastly, there was a tab on this box that was bent and made this cabinet look incomplete.

I wasn’t expecting a lot from this box, especially for 19 bucks, but I expected better than what I got. I immediatly returned this cabinet and bought elsewhere.

I have been looking for one of these key boxes for some time, but could not justify spending more money at the bigger box stores for essentially the same thing. The metal is thicker, and the box is much stronger than I expected, no complaints.

Fit and finish are good, door does not wobble or rattle when closed, feels like I bought a quality box. The only thing(s) that made me give it four stars: the inner door does not swing completely open, stops at 90 degrees to the back, so if you mounted this in a closet like I did then you have to sort of crane your head to see what is on that side of the panel.

Secondly, the keeper that is supposed to keep the inner door closed needed bending to even touch the inner door (lightweight metal, bending was no problem) but the paint where it is mounted easily peeled as it was bent.

It’s in a climate controlled environment, so it won’t rust, so this is just a small cosmetic issue only, does not effect function. I don’t see this as a true security box, as it would be easily broken into or ripped off a wall, but I really needed is a place to house and organize all my keys, which it does just fine.

For the price I have no complaint. The option I wanted was $189. 99. this was $15. 00. EASY DECISION! On a farm there are locks on everything. Without locks and fences you have a $174,756. 00 insurance theft claim.

Can’t beat this item for the money. I got this to organize keys to a fleet of 20 vehicles. Only using about half the box. The thickness of the metal does not feel flimsy. I do not need high security but this box would keep honest people honest.

Comes with 2 keys. Easy to mount with two screws but I would recommend heavier duty anchors than what is provided or mount to a stud.

Going to use for medication security for an elderly person so it would be good if a version was supplied without the hooks.

Ordered ship to store due to internet search lowest price. First order received was damaged. Manufacturers packaging offers no protection to security boxes for shipping. Boxes seem to be easily dented for ‘security boxes’.

Best Buy replaced the damaged order without issue. Second order was also dented, but was minor and did not impact box function and I wanted the box. I don’t think, after getting the box, that I would order this item knowing what it is now, even though I am keeping it.

Also note the box comes with one piece of thin foam which covers the bottom. I was disappointed that the box does not have foam filling the inside to help secure items. Four layers of foam would allow the user to fashion the inside to specific needs.

How much does a piece of foam cost? The handle is plastic and only half a handle at that. I expect it may not hold up – it looks all right in the pictures but is not substantial relative to the box. Information with the box indicates ‘Honeywell’ name used under license and has nothing to do with the manufacturing of this security box.

I feel like a little bit of bait and switch there.

The product itself is very nice. I purchased the exact same box for my daughter when she started college- to keep her laptop & important documents locked up & fire safe. I purchased this one for my son for similar reasons.

However, this particular item had scratches & places all over the exterior that appears to be rub marks from the cardboard box. It will still serve its function but I was disappointed that I paid for a new item that looks very used.

It came dented in a couple of spots but it holds my collectibles well, and it feels sturdy. Im considering customizing it with some more foam on the inside as it only has a single layer lining the bottom.

This key lock box is jest what I was looking for. It is made of metal that someone would need to smash with a hammer agents the sidewalk to get into if they could get it off the side of the house without destroying or cutting into the house.

The screws provided are a little small, but I found if you use some good toggle bolts this lock box is not going any where.

I have been thru Several Lock Boxes and could not find one that will fit the Newer Vehicle Keys. This one is very deep and will accommodate several Keys and the Longer one’s with ease it is very easy to use and is very strong.

great..easy to open in the dark

I love these lockboxes. Many people get confused by the fact that there are two combinations, one for the key door and one for the shackle. This feature is perfect for our business; people can get their keys out, but can’t remove the box.

I’ve ordered hundred of these over the past few years. I love the small size, they are extremely secure, and I love the double combination feature.

As far as I can tell, this is a good value (low price, adequate quality). My only complaint is that it is quite small, not big enough to hold a security-style key (similar to a car key). Wanted it to enable agents to show my vacant apartment to prospective renters, but it is too small to hold the key to the apartment.

I liked the first one so much i bought 2 more one for my dad and my brother. Put house key it and lock it to your gas meter. Never be locked out again

I purchased 2 of these to keep in 2 separate locations. They are well made, have large dials, and the dials are far enough apart not to turn accidentally when another is turned. They are large enough to hold 5 mortice keys without messing about.

Resetting the combination to your own choice of numbers is the easiest I have ever experienced, just slip up a lever, put in your 3333, slip the lever down again, and that’s your new combination set.

All in all a solid, heavy and quality device. Only drawback is the glaring, rubbery, coloured advertising label stuck to the front of the lock which you really must remove as it attracts attention, it is so bright and attractive.

however, removing it is hard work and when it’s eventually off a layer of sticky glue is left behind which is impossible to remove, it covers the whole of the weather shield and is like gross. I shall try sand paper, nothing else worked.

I shopped around the internet and local stores for a key organizer that I liked and would suit the various keys we store at our used car lot. This one is stylish, well-made, holds a lot of keys, and is discreet.

For the money, this one was much better than the other ones I found. So many other boxes have the keys spaced too close together so if your keys are long, you cannot use the adjoining level. Bottom line – this one is practical, good-looking, and priced right.

It is pretty big and bulky haven’t moved all keys over yet. I like the holders except the temple that is available to download free is not for the small labels they provide that is flustrating.

Great key cabinet, however, it comes locked, with the keys inside. You must unscrew the cabinet in order to get the key. Surely that isn’t necessary. I would still buy it though.

Worth the bit extra to have a key safe that has enough space for several keys and auto light. Much easier to select the correct code. Good product.

At the price very good value. Metal finish looks good and it will accommodate most of the keys found lying around the average house and more. (20 ring hooks). Fixing screws supplied are fine but might be best to use a heavier gauge with bolt head and extra length for increased security especially if mounting in a garage where it could be got at.

The pre-drilled holes in the box will allow for this. Excellent key tidy up. All in all pleased with this purchase.

brought this thinking it would keep certain items safe which it wont , might be ok if your keeping items safe from children under the age of 10 any older and they will get in if they want with ease! , im able to pry it open with just my hands! there is so much flex in the lock mechanism and the lid itself that you can easily open it enough fo items to either fall out or just bend the lid back.

A sturdy, powder coated box with plenty hooks for keys. But, you can only fit it to the right side of the door, the lock can’t be changed around. And as for outdoors, I expected something like a small silicon seal around the door.

Since it has none, it will fill up in no time with heavy rain and wind, giving you lovely rusty keys.
