14 Best Loadout For Swiss K31 (2023 Updated)

I owned Thule Force 624 (medium) cargo box before upgrading to Force XT (XL). The objective was obviously to have more room to carry a couple of extra camping gears or taller boxes. Because Force XT is a newer model, I expected some improvements other than the bigger size I chose.

Owning other quality products from Thule, I hoped I would love Force XT. Unfortunately, I cannot like it due to the following shortcomings: 1. There is a hump in the middle of Force XT, which keeps flat objects like suitcases and boxes from sitting flat, reducing practical height inside Force XT.

While the theoretical volume inside Force XT (in liters) is greater than that of Force 624, the hump significantly reduces its practical capacity. 2. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the lid of this box is flimsier and hence difficult to close, even when the box is empty.

3. Despite its thick spine/hump in the middle to reinforce Force XT, the floor of Force XT bends relatively easily. For instance, whenever I put a heavy item like a camping tent in its nose, it bends, making it difficult to close the lid.

I almost always rearrange luggage two to three times to close the lid. A very annoying experience at the airports or campsites. 4. The keyhole well is stupidly deep. It is as deep as the length of the key, making it difficult to insert and twist the key, especially if you have gloves on or when the visibility is poor.

5. The PowerClick mounting locks prevent you from over-tightening, BUT they do not stay affixed. As soon as I unmount the box, the locking mechanism comes off and rattles inside the box. Overall, I feel that this upgrade is a downgrade in many ways.

Based on the above design flaws, which are common across all sizes of Force XT, I cannot recommend this cargo box to anyone. In fact, I would love to return it for a refund or exchange it for a better design.

I’ve used my Thule Force XT XL twice and on the third use one of the support hinges broke. This is a common problem based on reviews from several different sites. The worst thing is the part, has not been available from Thule for at least 6 months.

It is available at twice the price from e-trailer. I believe the springs in the hinges are too stif causing excessive side load on the hinge when closing. Most people probably try to. Lose the lis with 1 hand which causes either the front or the back hinge to bind and side load the hinge causing the plastic to fracture.

If someone in engineering from Thule would like to discuss this I’d be happy to help with a solution and test sample hinges. While waiting for a replacement hinge to be available from Thule I’m using a piece of wood to hold the lid open on the broken hinge end.

I do like the safety feature of the locking mechanism in that all three latches must engage before you can rotate the lock to the closed position and remove the key. I also agree with a previous post on the flimsiness of the lid and it has to be just right or you cannot lock it.

This is not a close with 1 hand operation. It must be closed using 2 hands to close the front and back of the lid evenly to permit the latches to engage in the locking mechanism to allow the lock to rotate closed and remove the key.

I bought our Thule Force XT XL from REI. They installed both of the roof rails and showed me how to install the box. It fits a Subaru Ascent perfectly and has enough space for an Uppababy stroller, two scooters, and 2 carry-on size suitcases.

I’m 5’4″ and can open it and load it up while using the back passenger step tread. It’s about as easy to load up as it is to install a carseat lol, once you know what you’re doing it’s way easier but still slightly a PITA.

You do need to use two hands to open and close it, but it has never been an issue for us. I appreciate the key not coming out until everything is secure. While it feels “flimsy” if you don’t use two hands, it is just because it is so large and made of thin but incredibly durable plastic.

Using two hands to open and close it will also prevent the brackets from bending weird. We have had it loaded up in about every type of weather and it has remained dry inside. When it’s loaded up we stay under 70 mph, at 71 and beyond it whistles and you can feel a bit of pull.

Overall, my only issue with the box is that it seems like mold likes to grow inside. It has always been dry inside when I’ve checked on it, so I’m not sure why it is doing this. I’ll try grabbing one of the DampRid products to place in it to see if that helps.

I would’ve thought that it would be coated with something inside to prevent this and am a little disappointed that it’s not. I just leave mine on my vehicle since it fits inside my garage while attached.

My mpg is the same as without it.

Excellent item. Two things though. You need to purchase the hitch lock separately for 50. 00 and the hitch bolt/lock system is of course different than all other manufacturers so more keys. Second point but resolved.

There are two sections, the hitch part and swing arm and the post with support. You bolt both together and after assembled awkward to put into truck. Do not bolt them together but use the 5/16 hitch pin lock.

That way you almost have 2 straight pieces to store into truck. Works great. Yakima. how about that!.

Very well made and light. Easy to install into hitch and secure in place. Initial setup is very easy and the instructions provided on yakima’s website make putting it together a simple process. I love that this bed extender is adjustable and can have a separate extension to purchase if I ever need to mount anything to the roof rack on my truck.

I have used this to transport my fishing kayak, which when fully loaded weighs around 150lbs. It is very sturdy with the load on there and I have no concerns of anything coming loose or falling off. It’s nice when I get to the water and want to remove it and put in my truck bed to just remove 1 bolt and it fits in the bed perfectly.

I have a locking diamondback HD tonneau cover so I dont have to worry about anyone stealing it. I also have a yakima baseline rack system with jetstream bars, which once I get the correct clips for my new truck, will be transferring over.

All of yakima’s products seem to be very well made and they have great customer service.

This rack does exactly what I hoped it would, however, I question the quality of craftsmanship for the steep price. After following the instructions and mounting the rack, it doesn’t sit level and has a significant slant to one side.

I would just go buy the GX AXS shifter – no difference except for a printed on logo. At this price they should come with both paddle options, but what can you do. 100% instant shift accuracy! And if you roll your eyes at the “reduces hand-fatigue” claim, go do a 75-mile race.

Very easy to install and set up. The big plus for me is that I now have a rear facing down shifting button that was sadly missed when switching from Shimano, but the one downside is that the front paddle is a little uncomfortable in use especially after a few hours in the saddle.

the only level of resistance that is usable is level 3 , level 1 and 2 are worthless. The sled needs a weight even when pushing the sled as the sled will go up on one wheel, if you really concentrate you can keep it down, but it should be more stable without the weight on it.

And pulling the sled without a weight isn’t an option. I have not used the sled weighed down yet, bu the area where the weight goes seems like it will be too small for most 45lb plates. And I do believe it will need at least 45lb for the wheel to stay on the ground.

Also, the are for the weight is too close to the end of the sled with the handles and too far away from the wheel that needs to be kept on the ground. The handles are loose fitting and dont lock into place, which a simple and inexpensive fix would be a push button locking system like a patio table umbrella would have for example.

For over $900 with tax, this should be built better. Not worth the money.

I own just about every piece of equipment you’d find in your run-of-the-mill CrossFit gym, plus a few other items thrown in. To date, my AirDyne/Echo bike has been the go-to for the occasional torture session.

until now. I really enjoy incorporating sled work; I do not, however, enjoy getting the sled out, setting it up, and upsetting my neighbors with the noise associated with pushing/pulling/dragging the traditional sled across the common paved road.

Not to mention, moving a loaded-up sled out of the way of the occasional vehicle can be a pain. Enter the Tank M1. Wow, it does just about everything you’d want it to do, and it does so much easier. I’ve used this sled for 12-days in a row now, trying to squeeze every ounce out of it.

The only negatives I have found so far are the difficulties with turning the sled, especially when loaded; attempting to maneuver around corners or steer down your driveway can be quite cumbersome. The handles are a little wobbly and, even though I know they won’t pop off while pushing, it feels like they just may from time to time.

If you’re pushing a heavy load and happen across some rogue acorns or debris, the wheels may slip slightly. Finally, every once in awhile, especially when dragging the sled, the front wheel slips a bit.

Overall, this is a 5-Star product.

Pushing this thing makes me feel like The Little Engine That Could. I first used a Torque Tank M4 at a 24 Hour Fitness where I used to be a member. As someone who loves lifting but hates cardio, I found this to be the only piece of conditioning equipment that I actually looked forward to using.

I left that gym and had it in my mind to look into getting one. But the price and size of the M4 deterred me. Fast forward to 2020, gym closures pushed me into building out a home gym, and lo-and-behold I see Torque created a smaller, more affordable version of the M4 that was getting great reviews.

I decided to purchase an M1 and after a few days of use, I love this thing. Pushing against something heavy gets the lifter in me excited without the drudgery of long cardio sessions. It offers a great, low-impact conditioning workout that I can do outside in the fresh air.

My only wish is that Torque would put together full length, real-time or on-demand videos of trainers guiding and pushing me through a workout that I could stream on my device as we all push along.

These boxes a really are incredibly useful for many things, but especially rafting and camping. The King Crab Orange box was the best, but was around for such a short period of time. (Now you can only get them from scalpers charging double or more online) The lack of color options really is my biggest complaint.

They need to bring orange back so that you can quickly scan an outdoor area and know that you didn’t leave it behind. It seems little but could be the difference between thousands of dollars being lost.

My favorite new multi tool. The build quality and finishing in a Victorinox product is always good, but their multi tools take it to a whole new level. This is the result of an attention to detail and high quality control standards.

Every tool operates smoothly and has excellent finishing. I couldn’t expect more from a custom hand made tool, the fit and finish is that good. Also, I find this tool much more carry friendly than its main competitor, the Leatherman Surge.

Some may prefer the Surge because of one handed opening tools and replaceable wire cutters and that’s a valid point, but the Swiss Tool has superior finishing and build quality. I like them both, but I’m more likely to carry the Swiss Tool on me, while the Surge goes in a backpack or sling bag.

This is the best tool ever, holds up in tough situations and will cut through fence wire no problem. I owned one before and lost it, tried other brands but nothing compares to this, also love that it’s not to bulky.

Of all the pocket knives and multitools I have, and I have many, this is hands down the best. It’s not like it’s perfect. The blades could do with slightly easier opening, the wire cutter is maybe less sturdy and sadly not replaceable – so not ideal for barbed-wire cutting (if that’s your thing).

otherwise it’s just an incredible package and it just works. would certainly buy again. and again.

I’ve used this cargo carrier one time. The second time I went to use it the light bulb was burnt out. It turns out you can’t replace just the bulb but instead the whole light assembly must be replaced.

Part TH05252. Unfortunately it seems nobody sells it. For $600 I got one use out of it. I can’t use it on my trip now. So frustrating.

Love it. No ladders to fill it. Wife and kids can pack car. No worry about parking garages. No wind noise, decreased fuel economy. No shoulder injuries putting it on the roof. Can easily open lift gate on Acura MDX and Subaru Outback.

Ingenious adapter for 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitched. Totally dry. You don’t need huge SUV on family trips. You can use 3rd row seat for kids and add this for luggage. Can use this and roof rack for long trips.

Its a great carrier. Used it for a couple of years now and love it. If your light goes out just look on local trailer store or Amazon for trailer light 45202. I just replaced the light after many years of usage and it worked great.

Its way cheaper then etrailer site.

The XLT is awesome. It is a large size but still usable. It’s smaller than the XXL and XAVT which are too big for practical EDC use (like twice the size of this). For starters, you will not be able to make a full fist around this as your knuckles would be angled (not 90 degrees) if that gives you an idea of handling it.

But you can use all the functions and most with comfort and ease. The back-side tools” Hook, Awl, Corkscrew, 3mm flat screwdriver, and Chisel are the only somewhat awkward-to-use use tools but are still very usable.

I couldn’t decide between the Champ and Cybertool L (which I cannot find) and this offers everything they do plus 4 more functions. With that said, there is no Serrated edge or seatbelt cutter, no led light, no wrench, no doubled tools like in the XXL and XAVT.

But it essentially has all the other tools offered by Victoinox. Personally, I would like to see the pharmaceutical spatula, 3mm screwdriver, and fish scaler traded for a light. And the hook to have the textured file on the spine.

And keep everything else. But those tools are still useful. The combi tool (can oner/bottle opener) would be a way to make it thinner too. Bottom line, this is a great value. It isn’t awkward to carry nor too heavy.

Be it clipped or chained. You’d be pleasantly surprised. If you are shorter than 5’11/6′ then maybe you would want to avoid it based on hand size.

This knife is already proving to be fantastic! I had to purchase another pocket knife as I had tragically lost my Swiss Champ after owning it for 20 years. After considering the tools from the Swiss Champ, like what I used and needed out of it, I sprung for the Cybertool Lite.

It meets what I commonly used prior and expands on those, particularly with the bit driver set. It also opens up new possibilities with tools that I didn’t have on my old Swiss Army knife, specifically the pliers.

There are less tools than the Swiss Champ, but I hadn’t regularly used the tools I’m missing, so no worries there. The quality is as expected, fine Victorinox craftsmanship. And it’s already proving useful, having used the magnifying glass and needle to bend the pins back on an Intel LGA 1155 socket to bring a computer back to life.

Worth noting that the flash light is sufficiently bright, to the point of surprising me. I initially felt like it would end up being a gimmick; and it kinda still is, but its brightness certainly makes it useful, especially when I don’t feel like grabbing a flash light while tinkering or don’t have one near.

Hard to find a con without being nitpicky, so I’ll just conclude by saying it’s perfect for me! Looking forward to new adventures and a longer number of decades with it!.

I bought mine in 2008, and hand-stitched a leather belt pouch for it. I couldnt live without it now. Its been to at least 30 states, and over 20 countries with me. From the forests of Alaska, to the jungles of Central America, to the urban sprawl of Moscow, I cant imagine life without it.

Preparing meals at campsites, pulling cactus spines with the magnifying glass(es) and tweezers, or using the cyber tool to work on my kids toys, it is truly indispensable. I will say, dont get it wet, the electronics are not waterproof, and mine failed very early on, but I dont miss them too much.

Replacement parts can be hard to find, especially the short tweezers. And the bits are expensive if you lose any. Overall, this is the most useful, universal tool Ive ever encountered. Im needing to replace mine, and when I do, my old one will get mounted on a plaque made with a map of where its been, and maybe some photos as well.

Dont let the price turn you away, you will NOT regret this purchase.

torque tank MX is a very nice, well built sled. it has good resistance even if not using the MX mode. I like the different handles on it (wish the M4 had them). The only reason I put 4 stars is because it is a pain when trying to turn it to get it to the training area or to redirect it if it goes off course (if road is sloped in one direction or pushing too hard with one side or if tire pressure is unequal).

The M1 solves this issue turning issue and has the 2 position handles (and is cheaper), but I wanted something heavier which would less likely skid (and don’t need extra weight to weigh down) when doing pulling exercises (which can happen with the M1 per reviews online).

having a way to lock the handles in and unlocking the wheels on one side to allow it to be more maneuverable would make this tank perfect.

The sled is awesome. it pushes great and despite what some people say online or here it pulls well too, just weight it down using the weight horn. I know not everyone has plates around but I do suggest getting a couple 45s if you can.

Even one makes a big difference but two takes this thing to perfection in my opinion. Marcus Hughes from sales/support has been a pleasure to work with and took care of everything I had questions on and needed.

I will look to this company if I upgrade or want other pieces of equipment. If you are on the fence like me or worried about the cost let me assure you this thing is quality and the workouts are so good.

I recently got one for my daughter and myself. I highly recommend this chainring. Very smooth and quiet with no break in period and no wonky feel. My daughter and I noticed an immediate difference in climbing.

For example, we can climb the same trail in a higher gear than when using a round chainring. Furthermore, I feel the same climbing advantage with this chainring as I do with a lighter bike, however, this us much more cost effective than a lighter frame.

Recently bought a new bike after a couple of years with an oval ring on my old rig, and the move back to round just felt wrong. Just didn’t feel as smooth, and felt I needed a gear lower to maintain any rhythm.

The wolf tooth oval setup is not as ovalised as some others and feels really natural to pedal. It also runs as quietly as the round chainring with a Sram 12 speed chain. Would recommend giving one a go.

I’ve been running the switch system with a Shimano 12spd setup for over 1 year now. There are two major flaws with the product: 1) the threads are in the permanent part (the spider), which is made of aluminum.

If the threads get messed up, which is easy because the spider is made from a soft grade of aluminum, you’re SOL and have to replace the spider. The chainring bolts are also made of cheesy aluminum. I had a bolt get frozen in the spider.

The hex pattern in the bolt stripped when I tried to remove it. I had to drill out the bolt very carefully as to not damage the threads in the spider. The design flaw is putting the threads in the permanent part.

A good design would put the threads in the part that gets replaced (the chainring). 2) there is play between the chainring and spider which leads to movement and creaking. My chainring bolts are tight, but there’s still play that can’t be eliminated.

It’s a poor mechanical interface. The chainrings wear down quickly and have worse chain retention than shimano chainrings. Clearly this system was designed for minimal cost of chainring manufacturing, which is why they use the same tooth pattern for all chains and don’t put the threads in the chainring.

I wish somebody would make an HG+ compatible steel chainring for sram direct mount cranks.

I just recently got a new bike, but transferred all my components from my previous bike. All 12spd Shimano with a HG+ DM ring on my eewings. I could never quite get the shifting to work perfect, like it did on my old bike, it would tick slightly as if the barrel adjuster was off but only in the 3rd cog from the top.

Well, I planned on changing the look of my bike anyway, so I picked up the Switch chainring and to me disbelief my drive train is much quieter, shifting is smoother and the tick is totally gone! How?!? I only changed the chainring? Works perfectly with my Shimano HG+ drive train.

I am super impressed with the function and appearance of this chain ring system, truly a Oneup on other components.

Great product! Very easy to install and very convenient when needing to “Switch” chainrings for either racing or just a big day in the saddle. I appreciate the quality and aesthetic as well. Ok, I will be honest, I love all the products OneUp has to offer.

I love this box, Yakima got so many things right on the CBX boxes. I went for the 18 because I have some 193 skis that I need to carry. Love the look, shape, and design. It’s very quiet aerodynamically.

Honestly can’t hear a change in highway speed noise driving my car without the box vs with. Favorite feature is how far forward it can be mounted on the cross bars. No issue clearing the rear hatch when it’s fully open on my 2015 Honda Pilot.

I think it’s the only 16-18CF box on the market that would fit the gen 2 Pilot without interfering with the rear hatch.

Needed a box lower than my current 15 inch Yakima box. Didnt want a low ski box. Was very happy to see that according to the REI website this box was 14 inches high. Perfect. Drove 180 miles round trip to buy it.

Got home, was fine tuning the box, then discovered that the sticker on it, as well as the Yakima website, says its 15 inches high. REI. com said it was 14 inches. Wasted $979 plus tax. Could have kept the old box.

Will be returning to REI for them to dismount from my car.
