Little River Band is an Australian rock band that formed in Melbourne in March 1975. The band’s original lineup was Glenn Shorrock (lead vocals, bass guitar), Graeham Goble (lead guitar, vocals), Beeb Birtles (guitar, vocals), Derek Pellicci (drums) and David Briggs (keyboards).
The group achieved mainstream success in the United States with their 1976 album, Diamantina Cocktail, which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200.
The band has released 16 studio albums, three live albums, and numerous compilations. Goble and Birtles are the only original members still with the band; Shorrock left in 1982 to pursue a solo career, and was replaced by John Farnham.
Farnham left in 1985 to front his own band, and was replaced by Wayne Nelson. Pellicci left in 1996 and was replaced by Ric Formosa.
The band’s most successful single in the US was “Reminiscing”, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. In Australia, their most successful single was “Help Is on Its Way”, which peaked at No.
1 on the ARIA Singles Chart in 1977.
The band has received multiple Grammy nominations, but has never won. They were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2004.
This comprehensive collection tells you more about the band than past albums! All the hits they had from 1975 to 1983 are on here as well as some minor post-’83 songs that didn’t chart high. They were one of the best bands of the late ’70s with an emphasis on well structured songs.
Some people say that they sounded mellow, but they rocked hard to me! They even gave the already popular Eagles a run for their money. It’s good to hear that they still perform despite band member changes and conflicts.
This is a good introduction to today’s audiences of how huge this band was in the ’70s with this compilation. An Australian band with this American-based sound that’s still unbelievable to this day.
If you are a fan of this group and you want the best sounding, remastered versions of their greatest hits, then this import from Australia is the one to purchase. While The US version sounds pretty good, this one is noticably better.
If you can find this version at a reasonable price, go for it.

I haven’t listened to Bruce Springsteen for years, but he’s here in a fortnight on tour, and I thought I should learn a few words. Oh My Gosh!! I’d forgotten how talented that man is – the CD is my absolute favourite (actually, that should be CD’s, because it’s a double pack!).
I listened to the first one, and enjoyed every song – over and over again. I wasn’t in a hurry to listen to the second one, because I took it for granted that it wouldn’t be as good – surely the best would be on the first disc – Wrong!!!! I love the second one every bit as much!! The CD’s are fabulous – the price was great – a fantastic transaction in every respect!!.
The cds were great but case damaged in transit. I had the album on vinyl and needed the convenience of cd. If Trump won the election Springsteen was moving to Australia!!
From the first track of this double album to the last, every track does its job. If you are a Springsteen fan and have The Essential Collection and his Greatest Hits, this is a must have album as it features some great tracks not on thise albums.
I love Sherry Darling with the great saxaphone rift.
It’s 150 of the best, silliest, the Veggie-est of all Veggie songs in this high value collection. 150 songs from the 25 Favorites series comprise this collectible boxed set.
We bought this CD set after falling in love with a Veggie Tales Silly Songs with Larry CD that we borrowed from the local public library. There are three CDs in this set that we really love and three that we don’t use at this point.
There is one Silly Songs with Larry disk, one Songs from the Shows (with a variety of beloved songs on it), and one Lullabies disk that we really do love. We have an 8 year old, a 6 year old, and a 10 month old baby, so the older two like the silly songs and baby loves the lullabies.
Other than that, the cds are just veggie tale character voices singing children’s songs that you would hear at VBS or church. There may come a day, when #3 is older that we use these CD’s as we did Little People cds when our older two were little, but they aren’t what I was hoping for with this set.
Neither was the lullabies, but since it has come in handy, it’s not that big a deal. I just had expected 150 songs from the shows. which there probably just aren’t that many in existence, so they added other kids songs.
I would have preferred a two disk set that only had the show songs rather than a 6 disk set that had things I wasn’t looking for and now have to store or get rid of.
this is a great set for my daughter and I. I have a 6 disc changer in my vehicle so it works out great. the problems that i have are 1. some songs are on 2 discs 2. these are the “mellower” versions of the songs, we had a cd we lost and decided to get this as the replacement and a lot of the songs we know and love are not as fun on this set.
Track List: 1. These Are Not My People 2. Maybelline 3. Seventh Son 4. Muddy Water 5. Memphis 6. Mountain Of Love 7. Poor Side Of Town 8. Where Have All The Flowers Gone 9. Baby I Need Your Lovin’ 10.
Tracks Of My Tears 11. Secret Agent Man 12. Midnight Special 13. Summer Rain 14. Look To Your Soul 15. Rockin’ Pneumonia 16. Blue Suede Shoes.
I’ve long wanted to add Johnny Rivers’ greatest hits to my collection. I’m not a big fan of live recordings, and it appears that’s the only way many of his hits were recorded. I’d say whoever engineered the CD could’ve done a better job of leveling out the sound on the live vs studio recordings.
But from what I’ve seen, this is likely the best Rivers compilation available. Given that, I’d call it a good buy for 60’s and Rivers casual fans.
This has all the hits including Secret Agent Man, which I bought the 45 from my neighbor for 50 cents because I had to have it. Only thing better is Whiskey a Go Go.
Greatest Hits is an album by Band, released in 2002. Greatest Hits includes a.o. the following tracks: “The Weight”, “Chest Fever”, “The Shape I’m In”, “Stage Fright” and more. The album is a rock CD.
I purchased the CD for my husband. He absolutely loves his CD. It is an old group that he listened to in his younger years. I was very excited when I found it on ebay for sale. I purchased it to make my spouse happy.
Encompassed in one. has all the seminal numbers the Band put out. Still sounds as good as it did back then thatnks to cleaned up technology, but without losing the spirit and feel of the music. If you’re a lifelong fan, this is handy for the car, if you’re new to the Band, where have you been?.
In 2000 the entire Band catalog was remastered. Greatest Hits collections usually leave some fans unsatisfied. I have to say, this selection of songs is just a perfect represetation of the best music from this amazing group.
The songwriting, the ‘story songs’ the intricate playing, harmonies, the best of the best is all here. Imagine crossing Procol Harum’s majesty and chops with Creedence’s Amearican country roots vibe (i.
e “The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down) and The sound is astonishing. The kick drum and bass have a richness and power that has never been heard before. A great place to start if you’re interested in the Band.
Sing along to your favourite headbangers! Rock legends Kiss present Greatest; featuring 20 of their most well loved tracks including Detroit Rock City and God Gave Rock ‘n’ Roll To You.
Greatest Kiss is a compilation album of previously available material released by the American hard rock band Kiss. Along with You Wanted the Best, You Got the Best!!, this album was issued to coincide with the group’s 1996–97 Alive/Worldwide Tour.
The US version covers only selected hits from 1974 to 1980, while non-US releases include the band’s 1992 hit “God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll To You II. ” great compilation, great selection of songs.
The Verve’s 1997 album Urban Hymns, released on September 29th 1997, was one such record. It captured the mood and spirit of the times with songs of an emotional and musical depth that touched a raw nerve throughout the world and ensured this band would graduate from highly respected indie favourites to a genuine rock colossus.
A certified classic, Urban Hymns is one of the 20 biggest-selling albums ever in the UK (now 11 times platinum) and has sold over ten million copies worldwide. The album spawned three highly successful singles.
The first was the epoch-making worldwide smash Bitter Sweet Symphony, which trailered the album and became the sound of the summer. It was followed in the UK by The Drugs Don’t Work (No. 1) and Lucky Man (No.
Compilation of greatest hits from the American alternative rock band. The album features classic songs such as: ‘Everlong’, ‘Monkey Wrench’ and ‘All My Life’ as well as two new songs ‘Wheel’ and ‘Word Forward’.
It’s delightful to hear the analog world in the digital universe. Something that I enjoy a ton is to let the turntable play an entire side of the LP and avoid the temptation of skipping tracks. Is not 180 gm but I think is 150, the recording is flawless.
The vinyl sleeve is very cool since it has texture, it has printed envelopes as a freebies since the disks come in a anti scratching plastic bags, Very nice vinyl version.
Great sound, especially as it is the first new album I have bought since Graceland in 1987. Pressing is very good, except for 2 tracks. Side B, Track 4 (Monkey Wrench) has a pressing flaw at the beginning of the track (3 rotations) and Side D has static damage at the beginning of Track 1, which lasts for about 15 seconds.
I still have records from the 1970s that are in pristine condition, so when I get a brand new vinyl and it sounds like I have played it for years, I get worried. Out of 3 albums I have bought (ELP & Fleetwood Mac), this will be the only one I have not sent back.
Even so, in this day and age, all new vinyl should be pristine. The rest of the album plays brilliantly.
I love the Foo Fighters, but not all of their tracks are great for me. Getting this album was the perfect fit for someone in my position, as it has the majority of my favorite songs conveniently located in the same place.
Great quality, no issues with sound. If you’re like me and don’t want to buy their entire album library, get this instead.
Guided, perhaps, by musical snobbery or roots-rock phobia, some people inexplicably don’t like Creedence Clearwater Revival. As the kings of earnest country-inflected rock in an age when radical stances were de rigueur, CCR sported straight-ahead tunes, and may have seemed a bit unhip.
But their music stands the test of time with a vengeance. For the doubtful listener, this outstanding, 20-track hits collection has evidence of their greatness in staggering abundance. Though they produced several excellent albums, Creedence was predominantly a singles band, and CHRONICLE compiles many of their biggest hits.
From the slowly building saunter of “Suzie Q” and the spooky, R&B-soaked “I Put a Spell on You” to the fierce “Fortunate Son” and the swampy blues of “Run Through the Jungle,” CHRONICLE features the ensemble’s signature tunes.
Beautifully melancholy songs “Who’ll Stop the Rain” and “Someday Never Comes” play off sunny, melodic anthems “Down on the Corner” and “Lookin’ Out My Back Door,” fully revealing the band’s wide range.
The group’s tight, no-frills musicianship leaves John Fogerty’s keening voice and superb songwriting at the fore, and the results–brought together here on one of rock’s best greatest-hits packages–make for some of the genre’s most endearing and enduring music.
Raves for this ultimate compilation of greatest hits by this fantastic group! Although this set has been available for years in different formats, I’ve never owned it on vinyl, and it has never sounded better to my ears.
Nothing beats the sound of vinyl. Not a bad song this two record greatest hits collection. If you’ve never listened to Creedence, which would be hard to believe, then this is a fantastic way to start.
Highly recommended to anyone that loves Creedence Clearwater Revival and a great turntable. Hope this review was helpful.
This vinyl came in very good condition. Featured some of CCRs best songs like Up Around The Bend, Green River, Sweet Hitch Hiker, and my favorite, Hey Tonight. Too bad CCR didnt include songs like Hello Mary Lou, The Midnight Special, Cotton Fields, and Born On The Bayou.
Thats on Vol. 2 which I never bothered getting. Never forget Long As I Can See The Light which is a classic.
I remember seeing this album decades ago and enjoy hearing the songs by CCR. I used a discount coupon to purchase this and am impressed by the quality of the package. The albums are probably of heavier weight than the original pressings, and the cover is clean and in great condition.

Probably one of the best all round groups to come from the U. S. A. since The Eagles. If you loved The Eagles then this group is for you. Zac Brown Band play from Country to Country Rock and to stunning Ballads and the lyrics to the songs are brilliantly worked.
From one C. D. I knew I would have to have them all and I am eagerly awaiting a new release. Please make it soon Zac.
Zac’s upbeat, down home, feel good, toe tapping, emotional, music is the Best! All the music is thoughtful and relatable to life. Great relaxing music. Highly recommend this one. Love it!
E. M. 1988–2003 is more than a greatest hits collection, it’s an opportunity to reflect on the astonishing creative and cultural influence of one of the most innovative and enduring bands of modern rock history.
This compilation of eighteen tracks serves to remind us all over again of R. E. M. ’s key role in shaping the sound of the last three decades. With “Losing My Religion,” “Man On The Moon,” “What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?,” “The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite,” “Orange Crush,” “Everybody Hurts” and many more, In Time lives up to its title as an indispensable musical document of our era.
The set also features the tracks “Bad Day” and “Animal” which were released for the first time as part of this collection.
Although there had to be some great songs omitted due to space constraints, this is nonetheless an outstanding collection. A great item for fans of the band to play on their turntables.
This compilation also contains extensive liner notes about each song that are informative and equally entertaining. Great sound quality and full of REM’s best!
Digitally remastered and containing rare previously unreleased bonus material. Green River is the third album by American band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released in 1969. In 2003, the album was ranked number 95 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Songwriter John Fogerty wrote the song, ‘Lodi’ about being trapped in a town called Lodi which is a town in California about 75 miles from Fogerty’s hometown of El Cerrito, Contra Costa County. The year 2008 marks the 40th anniversary of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
The album is packaged in a beautiful digi-pak, faithfully recreating the original album packages in meticulous detail and the CD reissue contains expanded liner notes.
if you really like rocknroll ,this california band with some southern rock sound that with their limited number of original LPs made it great and each LP is a testemony of their quality having a lot of known songs that everyone will recognise like fortunate song ,that when a movie talks about the vietnam war this song is there ,movies or t.
v. series, ,green river was the second lp released in the same year of the first ,they could have been joined in a doble L. p. Between 68 and 72 they released 7 l. p. s that each was sold was if they were kind of a starband but the quality is heard and several generations liked them till today,i myself started with a compilation ,doble lp where each song i heard was so interesting that i ended up buying all their lps.
Not such a great pressing both side A and B sides first songs skip which is a bummer but the rest of the album has played through without a problem. Other than that for the price its not too bad it was disappointing but it happens.
Love me some CCR! Definitely worth getting for your collection!.
Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late ’70s, few were as enduring and popular as the Cure. Led through numerous incarnations by guitarist/vocalist Robert Smith (born April 21, 1959), the band became notorious for its slow, gloomy dirges and Smith’s ghoulish appearance, a public image that often hid the diversity of the Cure’s music.
At the outset, the Cure played jagged, edgy pop songs before slowly evolving into a more textured outfit. As one of the bands that laid the seeds for goth rock, the group created towering layers of guitars and synthesizers, but by the time goth caught on in the mid-’80s, the Cure had moved away from the genre.
By the end of the ’80s, the band had crossed over into the mainstream not only in its native England, but also in the United States and in various parts of Europe. The Cure remained a popular concert draw and reliable record-seller throughout the ’90s, and their influence could be heard clearly on scores of new bands during the new millennium, including many that had little to do with Goth.
This collection comprises the 17-time Grammy Award winner’s most celebrated hits from his unparalleled career, each reshaped and reimagined. It boasts modernised recordings, faithful to the original arrangements and celebrates Sting’s illustrious musical career as one of the world’s most distinctive and influential artists.
Since forming The Police in 1977 with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, Sting has evolved into one of the world’s most iconic artists, selling 100 million records and earning the highest accolades along the way.
Fans can expect to hear Sting’s own fresh approach to hits including ‘Englishman in New York’, ‘Fields of Gold’, ‘Shape of My Heart’, ‘Every Breath You Take’, ‘Roxanne’, ‘Message in a Bottle’, and many more.
The album is also accompanied by liner notes written by Sting, in which he shares the personal stories behind each song and provides insight into how some of the most enduring songs of all time were written.
Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1982 collection from Australia’s first real breakthrough act into the American market. Little River Band was an unassuming but extremely talented outfit fronted by the amazing vocals of Glenn Shorrock.
This updated edition features six additional tracks: ‘Down On The Border’, ‘Happy Anniversary’, ‘Playing To Win’, ‘It’s Not A Wonder’, ‘You’re Driving Me Out Of My Mind’ and ‘It’s A Long Way There’. 18 tracks total including the big hits ‘Lonesome Loser’, ‘Help Is On It’s Way’, ‘Reminiscing’ and more.
Great collection from beginning to end. They don’t write quality music like this any more. Made in America used to mean quality. Now the pop rock bands don’t exist and we now have cheap cheesy vocalists repeating the same catch phrase over and over.
Little river band was one of the story tellers that just does not exist any more. Shame on our record companies for turning the pop artists of today into a one hit wonder and a pretty face with no depth.
If you enjoy music of heart and soul that will move you. This greatest hits will do just that.
The product, which was a birthday gift for my sister, arrived at my house in excellent condition several days earlier than I expected. Because of this, I was able to ship it to her in North Dakota and it arrived the day after her birthday.
She was very please to receive it and was happy that the celebration of her birthday could be extended for another day.
I have this album in vinyl but I wanted it on CD. I have been looking for it for years, so when saw it online I had to order it. It was delivered when the confirming e-mail said it would. so I have no complaints.
Most CD/DVD/Blu Ray are sealed by the manufacturer, however not all are. DVD/Blu Ray are made for UK market so have English as main language and are Region 2/Region B.
This type of CD is good when you want all your favorite songs, but not some potentially crappy filler music. Not saying that Green Day has crappy filler, but all my fave songs by them are on this one CD! I love it.
Putting together a single-disc compilation from Prince must have been a tough task, but whoever put this together did a great job. 17 of the R&B/Pop icon’s best including ‘When Doves Cry’, ‘Little Red Corvette’, ‘Kiss’, ‘I Would Die for You’ and many others.
For the full and part-time fan, this is like a trip down memory lane, but for the beginner, this is the best path to take. Warner.

Great CD. I Wanna Be Your Lover / 1999 / Little Red Corvette / When Doves Cry / Let’s Go Crazy / Purple Rain / I Would Die 4 U / Raspberry Beret / Kiss / Sign ‘O’ The Times / U Got The Look / Alphabet St.
/ Thieves In The Temple / Gett Off / Cream / Diamonds And Pearls / Money Don’t Matter 2 Night.
Was excited to receive this CD!! I love all the songs!! I know them ALL, and so I can just let it play, and play over and over! I listen to it in my car and when I’m doing house cleaning. I also am going to be ordered another one for my sister as a Christmas present.
Honestly this CD has the Best of the BEST of Prince and you wouldn’t be disappointed with the songs on this CD! I’d recommend it! :).
This book can point you in the right direction as far as key and chords are concerned, but the transcriptions are off. If you want to learn to play like Prince, you are better off trying by ear or sticking to online tabs/tutorials.
They are going to be inaccurate as well, but at least they aren’t taking your money and claiming to be the official answer.
For the first time ever, Smokie’s original “Greatest Hits” album (1977) and “Golden Greatest Volume 2” (1980) have now been compiled onto one album and pressed as a double 180gram white vinyl. With the singles ‘Living Next Door To Alice’, ‘Lay Back In The Arms Of Someone’, ‘Mexican Girl’, ‘It’s Your Life’ or ‘Needles And Pins’, “Greatest Hits” brings together the band’s classic original hits.
TRACKLISTING Side A Lay Back in the Arms of Someone Something’s Been Making Me Blue If You Think You Know How to Love Me Pass It Around I’ll Meet You at Midnight Number on My Wall Side B Living Next Door to Alice Changing All the Time Don’t Play Your Rock ‘N’ Roll to Me Back to Bradford Wild Wild Angels Little Town Flirt If You Think You Know How to Love Me Side A It’s Your Life Oh Carol Mexican Girl Stumblin’ In Needles and Pins Do to Me Side B Babe It’s Up to You Take Good Care of My Baby San Francisco Bay For a Few Dollars More Run to Me Hey Baby.
Well apart from it being in excellent condition, it is an extremely rare item with 4 sides and white vinyl. You also have the original line up of Smokie and all the early hits. My only slight grouse is that there are no lyrics, but I have got the Greatest Hits Records (2 sides) with the lyrics of some on there.
I also have a load more Smokie albums in my collection! Incidentally, 6hey were known as “Smokey for their first 2 hits) They are still popular in South and West Yorkshire!.
This is a superb album but ruined because track one crackles and skips and there is heavy crackle on LP 2 side C in many areas. Really disappointed in the quality of this pressing.
Weezer doesn’t look like rock stars, its amusing name doesn’t evoke stadium-heights glories, and the group’s lyrics don’t exude confidence or flash. For precisely these reasons, and the fact that the band’s songs on their Ric Ocasek-produced 1994 self-titled debut are the stuff of air-guitar dreams and shout-it-out choruses, the quartet became ironic arena-rock stars equally celebrated by in-the-know hipsters and mainstream radio listeners.
Underdogs and misfits, Weezer emerged from Los Angeles, CA as nerdy kids that eschewed traditional party-hard ways in favor of studying Kiss records, engaging in conversations about old LPs, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
The band’s awkwardness joyfully translates in the songs on their debut, largely concerned with jealous insecurities, pop culture, true-to-life heartbreak, common accidents, youthful misconceptions, and daydreaming.
Replete with urgent melodies, quirky confessional narratives, wry humor, and gargantuan hooks, Weezer (Blue Album) remains the best geek-rock record ever made. More than three-times platinum, the Blue Album claims an iconic cover that pays tribute to that of the Feelies’ Crazy Rhythms.
The picture – as well as the bubblegum-inspired content within – has become an indelible part of modern culture. And “My Name Is Jonas,” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Buddy Holly,” and “Undone (The Sweater Song)” are all modern classics.
I remembered this album more fondly than my reality of playing it on my porch with the needle deep into the groove. still some great songs and a couple of funny/humorous songs and a couple that just kind of waded through.
it says it was pressed at abbey road studio which I found impressive and it was a good deal but truth be told i mainly picked this up cause it was in my lists and i needed 15 dollars to get free shipping.
it sounded great and noticed no issues as what is prevalent in some modern-day pressings.
This is a decent album by a band that is quite talented in their own right. There are many good songs from Weezer. I have always found that there are some good songs that never get any airplay on the radio stations.
An excellent album that I previously did not own in any format. To own it now on vinyl, sound is incredible. My vinyl journey continues,,,say it ain”t so?
Fully re-mastered by John Leckie, and complied by the band themselves. The Very Best Of The Stone Roses brings together tracks from the band’s eponymous debut and their follow up album Second Coming.
Charting their rise through the ‘Madchester’ scene of the early nineties with their distinct brand of 60’s influenced indie rock, the album also features the singles “Sally Cinnamon”, “Fools Gold” and “one Love”.
This has everything a Stone Roses fan need! 2LP’s on two slabs of 180 gram black wax.
